This manuscript, held at the Asiatic Society in Kolkata, extends from the beginning of the Jātisamuddeśa to the end of the Kriyāsamuddeśa. It is very closely correlated with the manuscript from Delhi University Library (D) — it incorporates a marginal gloss from D, āryā, into the body of the main text. Not much is known with regards to the provenance of the manuscript, which forms part of the Government Collection ― Haraprasāda Shāstrī, in the preface to the first volume of his manuscript catalogue, writes that the collection began under the order of Lord Lawrence's Government in 1808 (III). This transcription has been made from colour facsimiles, with the exception of folios 2v and 3r, which were made from monochrome black-and-white facsimiles.

tad itthaṃ vājapyāyanācāryamatena sārvatrikī jātipadārthavyavasthopapadyate|vyāḍimate tu sarvaśabdānāṃ dravyam arthaḥ|tasyaiva sākṣāt kriyāsamanvayopapatter vākyārthāṅgatayā codanāviṣayatvāt|yathāha | codanāsu ca tasyārambhāt’ iti | ekabrahmasattājātisamanvayavaśena cātra saṃketopapattiḥ|anabhidhīyamānāpi jātir upalakṣaṇākriyate śabdārthe|yathā gṛhādau kākādiḥ | ākhyāte 'pi ca sādhanādhāradravyaprādhānyaṃ vyāḍimate|devadattaḥ pacatīti dravyeṇaiva sākṣāt sāmānādhikaraṇyopapatteḥ|kriyā tu guṇabhūtātra vyāpārāviṣṭaṃ hi dravyam ākhyātārthaḥ|idaṃ tad iti sarvanāmapratyavamarśayogyaṃ cātra dravyam iti sārvatrikīyaṃvyavasthā|tathā ca vakṣyati | dravyadharmā padārthe tu dravye sarvo 'rtha ucyate iti | ata eva śuklādīnām api dravyapadārthatā siddhā|tattadupādhivyavacchinnaṃ vā brahma dravyaśabdavācyaṃ sarvaśabdānāṃ viṣaya iti vakṣyata eva|vyaktiparyāyo vā dravyaśabda iti jātivyaktivikalpena sarvaśabdaviṣayaḥ|tathā ca sarvaśabdānām ity abhidhānāt padād apyapoddhāre prakṛtipratyayarūpasyāpi śabdasya yathāyogaṃ kriyākārakasaṃkhyādir apoddhārapadārtho jātivyaktibhedena samāmnātaḥ|ubhayasyāpi vā śabdāt_ pratīter ubhayaṃ padārthaḥ|guṇapradhānabhāvabhedāśrayas tu matavikalpaḥ|nityatvopavarṇanaṃ ‘ca siddhe ārthasaṃbandhe ity atra bhāṣye’ yasmiṃs tattvaṃ na vihanyate’ iti dravyasyāpi nityatvaṃ pravāhanityatayā śabdāt sadaiva pratīteḥ

svā asādhāraṇā ātmīyā gośabdatvādikā na tu sakalaśabdasādhāraṇī śabdatvādiḥ | evaṃ cāsādhāraṇatvena viśeṣaṇāt tayā saṃva_mdhāvyabhicāraḥ śabdasyārthajātyā saṃvaṃdhavyabhicāraḥ śabdasyārthajātyā saṃvaṃdhavyabhicāre pīti svā jātir eva mukhyam abhidheyam ity uktaṃ bhavati | taLthā ca vākyakāraḥ na vā śabdapūrvako hy arthe saṃpratyaya iti ata evāvyabhicāriṇyā svarūpajāter arthajātyabhidhāne śabdasya nāṃtarīyakam abhidhānam iti prathamam ity āha yadabhedena yatpratipattiḥ tad avaśyaṃ tatra pratipattavyam ity etāvatātra prāthamyaṃ na tu krameṇābhidhānaṃ yad vā saṃvaṃdhavyutpattikālāpekṣaṃ prāthamyaṃ | tathā hi saṃvaṃdhavyutpattikāle rthajātyā nāsti saṃvadhaḥ tathātve vācakatvena tatra viniyogo narthakaḥ syāt | arthasya pratipannatvād iti so rthas tāvat tena śabdena na pratipannaḥ | yadi ca svajātyabhidhānaṃ tadānīṃ na syāt_ tadānarppakatvād vibhaktiyogo na syād iti prāk saṃjñinābhisaṃvaṃdhāt saṃjñā rūpapadārthikety uktaṃ | rūpaṃ hi svarūpaṃ svājātir vā darśanabhedena kathyate | sarvair iti | svarūpaparair arthadyaraiś ca tasyā eva svarūpatayā vyavahārāchabdasvarūpeṇāvasthitā jātiḥ pratipadyate | arthasya jhaṭity eva śabdasvarūpābhedenāvavodhe pi yathāpratipāditakramāśrayeṇa tataṃ svajātipratyāyanād anaṃtaraṃ arthajātīnāṃ gotvādīnām ātmasu tasyāḥ śabdajāteḥ samāropasya kalpanā na paramārthaḥ śabdavivartatenārthasya śabdāt tattvato bhedābhāvāt |
yad vā saṃvaṃdhavyutpattikāle gaur ayam artha ity arthajātyā śabdajāter atyaṃtabhedāt sāmānādhikaraṇyānyathānupapattyā'bhedādhyāropaḥ kalpyate yathā gaur vāhīka iti anyathā saṃketasyaiva kartum aśakyatvāt_ | yathā cāyam anādir apauruṣeyo vācyavācakabhāvaḥ tathādhyāropo pi anyathā vācyavācakabhāva eva na ghaṭeta | yathāo bauddhasya dṛśyavikalpāLrthaikīkāro bhedānadhyavasāyalakṣaṇaḥ | nanu yathā gaur vāhīka ity atra puruṣechayādhyāropaḥ vyavahāre śabdārthayoḥ sadaivābhedāvasāyāt katham iyaṃ prativarṇam anabhivyaktā sādhāraṇī jātir asamasamayabhāvibhir varṇair abhivyajyata iti cet_ | yathotkṣepaṇatvādijātir iti vrūmaḥ tathā hi pratyekaṃ karmakṣaṇānām upavyaṃjakatve pi ya prathama utkṣepaṇakṣaṇaḥ sa paramāṇumātradeśākramaṇamātrarūpatvāt_ bhramaṇakṣaṇāt_ sārūpyavaśād anavadhāvaryamāṇabheda ekaiko samartho niyatajātyabhivyaṃjana iti kṣaṇāṃtaram apekṣate | na ca tasya bhramaṇakṣaṇād viśeṣo nāsti upakrama evotkṣipāmīty evaṃ prayatnajanitatvāt | evaṃ gośabdam uccārayāmīty ayaṃ prayatno yady api ||na|ga|ganaśabdajanakāt prayatnād anya eva hetubhedāc ca gakārayor api bheda eva tathāpi sādṛśyād asau duravadhāra iti vyaṃjako pi san_ prathamo dhvanir asphuṭam abhivyanaktīty āvartamāno pi na viśadatarasāmānyaviśeṣābhivyaktau hatuḥ | yadā tv avayavapravaṃdhaḥ krameṇopalabdho bhavati | atha śabdajātiviśeṣopādhiyuktā vyavahārā avatiṣṭhaṃte tadānīṃ sāhacaryāt parasparāvachedavaśena vilakṣaṇatayā pratibhāsanāt_ yathā ca ślokaḥ sakṛt paṭhya3...māno nāvadhāryate abhyāsena tu sphuṭāvabhāsaḥ tathā caramatvena sicakāsti ratnatattvavat sphoṭatatvaṃ | prathamākṣareṇa hi jāter ābhāsamātraṃ janyate taduttarottaravarṇakalāpena tu sphuṭatarasphuṭanaparichedādhānaṃ | samskāraviśeṣotpādanadvāreṇābhivyaktiviśeṣasya ratnabhatvādau dṛṣṭeḥ | tasmāchabdāLd arthe pratipadyāmaha iti vyavahārād varṇānām arthāvasāyajanakatvānupapatteḥ | prakriyābhaṃgasya prathamakāṃḍa eva vihitatvān niravayavaṃ pratyāyakaṃ śabdatatvaṃ jātivyaktibhedena bhinnaṃ sphoṭasvabhāvam evāṃgīkāryaṃ gaur ayam artha iti ca vācakābhedena vācyapratīteḥ tadadhyāsakhacitavapur vyavavahāryo rthaḥ tatra ca svarūpasya vācyatā prathamakāṃḍa eva nirṇītā iha tu saṃvaṃdhasamuddeśe pi nirṇeṣyate |

ete sattāmātrasyātmano mahataḥ ṣaḍ viśeṣapariṇāmāḥ yataḥ paraṃ viśeṣebhyo liṃgatraṃ mahattatvaṃ tasminn ete sattāmātre mahaty ātmany avasthāya vivṛddhikāṣṭhām anubhavaṃti | pratisaṃsṛjyamānāś ca tasmiṃś ca sattāmātre mahaty ātmany avasthāya yat tan niḥsattā'sattaṃ niḥsadasad avyaktam aliṃgaṃ tasmin pratiyaṃtīty evaṃ sāṃkhye buddhitatvaṃ mahachabdavācyam ādyaṃ jagatkāraṇaṃ nirdiṣṭam ity ato naṃtarasya vikāragrāmasya kāraṇarūpānugamāt sattārūpatvam aviruddham iti sattārūpaṃ saṃrvaṃ jagadākhyātaṃ bhavatīti sattādvaitavādaḥ sāṃkhyanayenābhyupavṛṃhitaḥ | evaṃ ca sarvaśabdavācyā sattā śabdapravṛ6ttinimittabhūteti yathāyathaṃ bhinnopādhibhāvapratyayābhidheyā saiva | nanv evaṃ gotvam iti prakṛtipratyayayor ekārthatāprasaṃgaḥ | naitat | upādhibhedena sattāyā bhedāt | prātipadikena gavāśrayāyās tasyā abhidhānaṃ pratyayena tu niṣkṛṣṭāśrayasya sāmānyasyābhidhety adoṣaḥ | prakṛtyarthanimittaś ca bhāvapratyayabheda iti na sāṃkaryaprasaṃgaḥ |
