vākyasyaiva niraṃśasya vā-⸤cakatvāṃd atarā padapratipattir vibhrama iti kim asatyapadavyutpādanenety āśaṃkyāpoddhatyo va bhrākyebhya daty āha ⸤apovṛtyā kalpanābudyā pṛthak yadaṃ nikṛṣyākhaṃḍavākyavdyutvattāv upāyaḥ || padavyutāttir vākyavādinī akhaḍa⸤padavyutpatāv iva parikatdyitarūpaprakṛtiprāyayāgamādeśādivyutūttiḥ || padavādināṃ ānaṃtyād dhi vākyanāṃ- ⸤svārasyenīśakyā vyutpattiḥ kartum iti sadṛśapadadvārakaḥ || tadupapattir ity artha
ubhayor avivāpodhṛtasyāsatyatvaṃ samā⸤naṃ || tathā hi aniyatānupūrvīko yathārthaṃ vdyatācayathatirekanibaṃdhano vākyavādinā cāpadāpoddhāraḥ || evaṃ padavādi⸤nāṃ śāstriyanvayathatirekanimittārthāpoddhākhaśaḥ || prakṛtipratyayāpoddhāraḥ yad āha vākyakāraḥ || siṃddhaṃ tv anvamuyathaLtirekābhyām iti tatra tinnanvaṃ sāmānyā dvidhetyādiko viśeṣa iti vidhārthe dhāpratyayopapattiḥ prakāro hi vidhārthanna sa va sāmā⸤nyasya bhedako viśeṣaḥ sādṛśyām eva sarvatra prakārāḥ kaiścid iṣyata ity ekīyaṃmata || kaiścid iti vavanāt || bheda pi tu prakārākhyā kai⸤ṣvid || bhyupagamyata iti vokṛṃ yadi vātra buddhirūpaprakalpitaṃ sādṛśyapn eva vidhārthaḥ jñānapratibiṃbitasya hiṃ bāhyanukāritvena sādṛ⸤śyaṃ sarvatra prakārārthaḥ || saṃkalpitasaddiśasyābāhyasya nirvajñanāt_ vākyāc capodhriyamāṇasya thadasya vākyāthaṃtirāparikalpa⸤nayārthavata evāpoddhāro yuktaḥ || arthāpoddhāra eva di padāpoddhārasya nimittaṃ animitte hi tasmi carṇāpoddhārasyāpi prasaṃgāṃ⸤t teṣām api vyutpādyatā syāt_
vākyārthaś ca syitalakṣaṇo niraṃśakārakotkalīnarārīrakriyāsvabhāvaḥ || tatra vāṃśāṃśika-⸤lpanayāpoddhāre kārakatmā kriyātmā na pravilāgārha iti priddhasādhyalakṣaṇāṃśadvayaviṣayaḥ || pradāpoddhārā dvividhaḥ || ⸤nāmākhyātaṃrūpaḥ prāyyamakalpitaḥ śaktiśaktimator abhedāt_ kārakātmā siddharūpo ṃśaḥ || dhadh api va nāmapadānāṃ pratyayā⸤rthasya saṃkhyādeḥ || śābdaṃ prādhānyaṃ tathāpy arthataḥ || prātipadikārthasya jātyādyaṃkuritasya dravyasyaiva prādhāndya siddharūpasyaṃ khyā⸤kārakaśaktīnāṃ tadāśrayatvād anayor eva ca nāmākhyātayor viśeṣatvān nipātopasarmakarttavyapravacanīyalakṣaṇaḥ || padabhe⸤hoṃ bharbhavati
tathā hi siddhārthābhidhāyi nāmapadam iti tadarthagataṃ viśeṣaṃ dyotayannipātaḥ || taitraivāṃtarbhavati sirddha hy aṃrtha sājñā⸤d vābhidadhātu tadgataṃ viśeṣaṃ vā prakāśayatu neyatā bhedaḥ || svarādayakta kecit satvapradhānā eveti te pi nāmapadam eva ye tu hisagā⸤hayaḥ || kriyāpradhānāḥ || teṣām ākhyate tabhaviḥ || na di tiṅaṃtam evākhyātaṃ kriyāpradhānasya sarvasyaiva tallakṣaṇatvāt || ata eLvopasargakarmapravavanīyapadā hy apy ākhyātapadam eva sādhyārthaviśeṣadyotanāt_ evaṃ nipāto pmi itabhedāṃtaravivakṣāyāṃ ⸤tu nipātopasargayor api kaiścit pṛthakkūraṇaṃ tathā hi asty evāpoddhāre rthamātrāviśeṣo nayor na hy etau sākṣād arthaṃ vadataḥ a⸤pi tu tadgataviśeṣadyotakāv iti vācakābhyāṃ nyāmākhyātābhyāṃ pravibhaktau siddhasādhyārthaviyayaviśeṣodyotakatvān nipātā⸤nāṃ sādhyaikaniyatatvac corāsargāṇāṃ parasparato bhedaḥ || karmapravavanīdyās tu kriyāviśeṣopajanitasaṃbaṃdhāvachedeahetava iti saṃbaṃdha⸤viśeṣadyotanadvāreṇa kriyāviśeṣaprakāśanāt_ upasargeth evāṃtarbhavatīti vaturvidhaiva kaiścit padaṃ bhinnaṃ
sākṣāt kriyāviśeṣa⸤prakāśanābhāvāt tad api paṃvamaṃ padam iti kaiścit_ tathā hi || karma proktavaṃtaḥ karmapravavanīyā iti atikrāṃtakriyākhyānaladasya ⸤thāpārasyātra saṃbhavo na tu vartamānasyety upasargebhyo bhedaḥ || kriyāgataviśeṣadyotanapūrvakaṃ hi saṃbaṃdhāhivachedanam atra varttamānaṃ ta ⸤hi sarvaḥ saṃbaṃdhaḥ || kriyākṛtaḥ upakārakriyovitatvāt tasca kriyām aṃtareṇa upakārābhāvāt_ tatra kavit kriyāśabdaḥ śrūyate kvavi⸤t_ yatra śrūyate tatra ṣvauta evaṃ saṃbaṃdhaviśeṣāvasāyaḥ tad yathā mātuḥ smarati mātuḥ || smṛtaṃ sarppiṣo jānīta ityādau kriyā hi sva⸤bhāvād eva kriyāṃtaravyavadhānam aṃtareṇa dravyaiḥ saṃyujyate yasmān mātāpitṛviṣaye pravarttate vatidyate vā tasmān mātāpitṛsaṃ⸤baṃdhīdaṃ smaraṇam iti kriyākārakalāvapūrvaka evādyam api saṃbadhaṃ iti varṇayaṃti
aśrute tu kriyāpade dvayī gatiḥ || kvavit saṃ⸤baṃdhasvarūpamahimnaiva kriyāpekṣasiddheḥ || pratiniyatakriyākārakabhāvapūrvakatvaṃ śeṣasaṃbaṃdhasya vinaiva karmapravacanīyam avaga⸤myato tahāthā upagor apatyaṃ vṛkṣasya śākhetyādāv apatyāpatyavatyaṃbaṃdho janikriyānimitto vayavāsyavisabaṃdha avasthitikriLyānimitta ityādi kvavi ju saṃbaṃdhānāṃ pratiniyatakriyāpūrvakatvāvadhāraṇe bh__nāsti ṇabharthyaṃ tad yathā rājñaḥ puruṣa ity atra svasvāmi⸤bhāvo bharaṇādyanekakriyānimitta ity evāvagamyate kriyāviśeṣo ntāvadhāryate ṃtannimittabhūtaḥ || tathā va bhāṣyaṃ yad eta svaṃ nāma tac ca⸤tursiḥ prakārai bhāvati bharaṇād apaharaṇāt krayaṇād yāñcayeti dānādīnāṃ tv anaṃnyatasāvinābhāvāt kiyānumīyata eva kvavit svavinā⸤bhāvinī kriyāpi na pratīyate tathā vaivaṃ jātīrāke viṣaye karmapravavanīyo niyataviśiṣṭakriyākṛtatvasaṃbaṃdhasya viśeṣam avagama⸤yati tad uktaṃ || janayitvā kriyā kāvit saṃbaṃdhaṃ vinivarttato śrūyamāṇe kiyāśabde prabaṃdho jñāvyate kvavit || sa vopajātāḥ saṃbaṃdho vini⸤vṛtte kriyāpade karmapravavanīyena yatra tatra niyamyate iti niyamas tasya niyatakriyājanitatvaṃ tathā hi śākalyasya saṃhitām anu śa⸤varyat_ iti yo yaṃ saṃhitāpravarṣaṇayor heturetumadbhāvalakṣaṇaḥ saṃbaṃdhaṃḥ śa nipatakriyājanita ity anunā vedyate || anuniśamyety a-⸤trātor niśamayatikriyāsāhacaryopalaccer iha saṃpātarūpacāt saṃhitāyās tadanumānasyauvittyāt tatra kiyāvavanatvam asyādyatra dṛṣṭaśa⸤kter na kalpaṃ
dyotyārthaniṣṭhāṃ va yotakatvam iti tad api kriyāpadāprayogād atra nāmni na va kriyāpadākṣepakatvaṃ yathā prādeśaṃ viparilikha⸤tīty atra ca lekhanāmasamanvayānupapatter mimātikriyājñepakatvaṃ kārakavibhaktir hy aya prādeśam iti dvitīyeni yuktam natsamuvvitakri⸤yākṣepaḥ || iha tu saṃhitām iti śaiṣikoyaṃ vibhaktir iti kathaṃ kiyākṣepaḥ || kriyākārakayor eva parasparam ākṣepyākṣepabhāvasyāvinābhā⸤vena nyāvyatvāt_ tad yathā praviśa piṃḍīm ityādau nāpi saṃrabaṃdhavāvitvam atrānoḥ || vibhattariva tadatiśanād iti saṃbaṃdhāvachedakasya pratyā⸤yako nāthaḥ saṃmavatīti pāriśeṣyād anor atra sāmarthyam adhyaṃvasīrāto tad uktāṃ kriyāyā dyotako nāyaṃ saṃbaṃdhasya na vācakaḥ nāpi kri⸤yāpadākṣepī saṃbaṃbhasya tu tedaka iti ledako viśeṣako dyotaka ity arthaḥ || adyam atra tāvac ca padananyathāsiddhaṃ tatrānor vyāpārakalpanā ⸤yuktā | yat punar anyathārthasāmarthyādinā sidhyati na tatra tasya śaktiḥ kalpayituṃ pāryate iti padāṃtarāṇā tardyāṃtaraniveśāt saṃbaṃdhavi⸤śeṣasya tato navagatasya karmapravananīyaviṣayatā siddhā || nanu va yad atrādhivacaṃ vākyārthaḥ sa iti kriyāviśeṣajanitatvalakṣaṇaḥ saṃbaṃLdhasyāvachedo vākyārthaḥ || kimi na kathyate || anos tu paścāt_bhāvamātravṛttitvam eveti ||
aśovyapte ihādhikyaṃ vākyārthacanodyamānaṃ padārthapṛṭha⸤pātitvenaivānusaraṇīyaṃ na tu padārthoktatvahyaneṃna tattadvākyopāttasya hi sādhyasya vā viśeṣyasya dhopāttair eva sādhanair viśeṣaivauś ca saṃsargam lavādhi⸤kyāṃ tad yathā || gāṃ śuklām ānaya || nīlotpalam iti va ata evocyate || āśrayāśrayiṇor vākyāt_ niyamas tv avatiṣate iti || iyaṃ vānupāttasyaiva padā⸤rthasya vākyārthāt pratītir nāttīti naṃ saṃbaṃdhīvachedo trāpadārtho vākyārtha śakyate kalpayitum iti karmapravacanīyaviṣaya evāyaṃ || yad vakṣyati ⸤nimittaniyamaḥ || śabdāt saṃbaṃdhasya na gṛhyate karmapravavanīyais tu svaviśeṣe varudhyate iti || atra ca darśanadvayaṃ svarūpeṇaiva saṃbaṃdhāṃtaravilakṣaṇa ⸤karmapravavanīyena saṃbaṃdho chiyate kriyāviśeṣajanitatvena veti tatrā trapeṇāvachedeśe viṣayakriyājanitatvaprītītiḥ saṃbaṃdhiviśeṣapa⸤ryājovanālabhyā || tathā hi adhibrahmadatte paṃṣālā iti dyamvāgnibhāvo yaṃ saṃbaṃdha ity adhinā vedyate || brahmadattaś va svāmīśvaraḥ || pāṃvālāś ca ja⸤napada svam iti tayoḥ || saṃbaṃdhinoḥ paripālanakarādānādikriyāprabhāvita eva saṃbaṃdho nyātha itdy avagamyate || evam abhimanyur arjunataḥ pratī⸤ti pratinā sāṃdṛśyalakṣyaṇo yaṃ sabaṃdha iti dyotyate || sa punaḥ saṃbadhisvarūpaparyālovanād atra saṃpraharaṇādikiyākṛta ity avagamyate || itthaṃ ⸤va śākalyasaṃhitām anu prāvarṣad isy atrāpi hetuphalabhāvo nāmāyaṃ saṃbaṃdha ity etāvaty evām anur viśrāmyati pāṭaviśeṣarūpacāṃ saṃhitāyā ⸤niśamanakriyāvagatiḥ || śabdaśravaṇena hi devo varṣad iti saṃbaṃdhimadimno viśiṣṭe kriyāprabhāvitatvam avasīyato kevid iyān anor eva ⸤vyāpāra ity āhuḥ ||
svarūpāvachede pi vat kriyāyāḥ || kāryābhūtasaṃbaṃdhāpekṣadyātītattāt karmma proktavaṃta ity arthaḥ || samaṃ netdy eva camtutaḥ || kri⸤yāphalasyaiva saṃbaṃdhasya prakāśanārūpathā tu tatrabhatubhartṛhares tatra tatrābhiprāyo lakṣyato tathā nimittaviśeṣāvacheda eva karmapravaca⸤nīyakṛta iti rāddhāṃtaḥ || adhibrahmadatte paṃvālā iti paripālanakriyāhitatvaṃ svasvamilāvasyādhinā vyajyate ccabhimanyur arjunataḥ ⸤pratīty atva parājayādikṛto nukāryānukaraṇabhāva pratinā prakāśyata itdyādi sarvaku yojyāṃ sustutam atimtrutam ityādau tu suḥ || pūvrayā⸤m atir atikramaṇe tyādinā karmapravavanīyasaṃjñādhikārikāṃ svārthanirapekṣaivopasargasaṃjñābādhanāya pravarttate yathoktaṃ karmapravadanīyatvaṃ kriLyāyoge vidhīyate ṣacādiṣinivṛttyartha svātyādīnāṃ hi dharmiṇām iti || arthena tu rūpe vibhāge pramlate kriyāviśeṣāvadyetikacād u⸤pasargapade svatdyādir aṃtarbhavati nāvyāptiḥ tad evaṃ vākyoviyamāṇasya vadasyāpoddhārārthāveśeṣāśrayeṇa yathāsaṃbhavaṃ bhedo niraṃśakavā⸤kyavyutpatyupāyabhūtaḥ || pradarśitaḥ || ata eva svādipadaṃ vākyavyutpattyanaṃgatvāchāmtre saṃketetitaṃ subaṃtaṃ padaṃ vyutpatyupādyabhrataṃ nehageha⸤r gaṇanārhaṃ prakṛtipratdyavad iti dṛṣṭāṃtapakṣanikṣiptam iti nāvyāpti na padāt kilāsāv apoddhāro na vākyā

svā asādhāraṇī ātmīyā gośabdatvādikā na tu sakalaśabdasādhāra⸤ṇī śabdatvādiḥ || evaṃ vīsādhāraṇatvena viśeṣaṇā tayā saṃvaṃdhāvyabhivāraḥ śabdasyārthajātyā saṃvaṃdhavyabhivāraḥ || śabdasyā⸤rthajātyā saṃvaṃdhavyabhivāraḥ || syārthajātyāṃ saṃvadhavyabhivāraḥ śabdasyārthajātyā saṃvaṃdhavyabhivāraṃ pīti sa jātir eva mukhyam a⸤bhidheyam ity uktaṃ bhavati tathā va vākyakāraḥ || na vā śabdapūrvako hy arthe saṃpratyaya iti sata evāvyabhivāriṇyā svarūpajātyer arthajāLtyabhidhāne śabdasya nāṃtarīyakam abhidhānam iti prathamam ity āhā yadabhedena yatpratipaśiḥ || tad avasyaṃ tatra vratipattavyam ity e⸤tāvatātra prāthamyaṃ na tu krameṇābhidhānāt || yad vāṃ saṃvaṃdhavyutpattikālāpekṣaṃ prāthamyaṃ tathā hi saṃvaṃdhavyutpattikārla rthajātyā ⸤nāsti saṃvaṃdhaḥ || tathānye vākatvena tatra viniyogo narthaka syāt || arthasya pratipannatvād iti so rthas tāvat tena śabdena na pratipa⸤jñaḥ || yadi ca svājātyabhidhyanaṃ tadānīṃ na syāt_ tadānaṃkatvā hi bhāktiyogo na syād iti prāk yaṃjñinābhisaṃvaṃdhāt saṃjñā rūpapadā⸤rthikety uktaṃ rūpaṃ hi svarūpaṃ svā jātir vā darśanabhedena kathyate || sarvair iti svarūpaparair arthaparaiś ca tasyā evaṃ svarūpatayā vyavahārā⸤chabdasvarūpeṇāsvāsthitā jātiḥ pratipadyate arthasya advity eva śabdasvarūpābhedenāvavodhe pi yathāpratipāditakramā⸤śrayeṇa tata svajātipratyāyanād anaṃtaraṃ arthajātīyānāṃ gotrādīnām ātmasu tasyāḥ || śabdajāteḥ || samāropasya kalpanā ⸤na paramārthaḥ śabdanivarttatvenārthasya śabdā tacavato bhedābhāvāt ||
yad vā saṃvaṃdhavyutpattikābhe gaur avam arthāya ity arthavrātyā śabda⸤jāter atyaṃtabhedā sāmānādhikaraṇthāhyathānupapatyā'bhedādhyāropaḥ kalpate yathā gaur vāhīka iti anyathā saṃketasyaiva ⸤kartum aśarkyatvāt_ yathā vāyam ānādir apauruṣeyo vāvyavāvakalāvaḥ tadādhyāropo pi anyathā vāvavāvakalāva yava na ghaṭe⸤tā yathā vauddhasya dṛśyavikalpārthaikīkāro bhedānadhyasāṃyalakṣaṇaḥ || na tu yathā gaur vāhīka ity atra puruṣechayādhyāropaḥ vya⸤vahāre śabdārthayoḥ saidavāledāvasāyāt katham iyaṃ prativarṇam anabhivyaktāsādhāraṇa jātir asamasamayabhāvaśri varṇair abhi⸤vyajyata iti vet_ yathotkṣepaṇamatvādijātir iti vrūmaḥ || tathā di pratyekaṃ karmakṣaṇānām upavyaṃjakatve pi yat prathamotkṣepa⸤ṇakṣaṇaḥ || sā paramāṇumāvadeśākramaṇāmātmarūpatvāt_ bhramaṇākṣaṇā sārūpyavaśād anadhārvyamāṇabhede ekaiko sa⸤martho niyātajātyabhivyaṃjana iti kṣaṃṇītaram apekṣate na va tasya bhramaṇakṣaṇad viśeṣoṃ nāsti u ekrama evotkṣipāmīty eLvaṃ prayatnajanitatvāt || evaṃ gośabdam udvāraṇamīty ayaṃ prayatno yady api gānagaganaśabdajanakāt prayabhad anya eva hetubhedyākā⸤rayor api bheda eva tathāpi sādṛśyād asau duravadhāra iti vyaṃjako pi san_ prathamo dhvanir asphuṭam ābhivyanaktīt prāvarttamāno pi rṇa ⸤viśadatarasāmānyaviśeyābhichakto hetuḥ yadā va eva pravadhaḥ krameṇopalaṃbdho bhavati || atha śabdajātiviśeyopādhiyuktā ⸤vyavahārā avatiṣṭaṃte tarānīm asāhavaryāt parasparāvachedavaśena vilakṣaṇatayā pratibhāsanāt || yathā va ślokaḥ sakṛt pa⸤cchamāno nāvadhāryate abhyāsena tu sphuṭāvabhāsaḥ tathā varamavetasi vakāstiṃ rabhavatyava sphoṭatvaṃ prathamākṣeraṇa hi jā⸤ter āmāsamātraṃ janyate taduttarottaravarṇakalāpena tu sphuṭatamaparichedāodhānaṃ saṃsmāraviśeṣotpādanadvāreṇābhivya-⸤ktiviśeṣasya raṃbhatatvādau daṣṭaiḥ || tasmāc chabdād arthaṃ pratipavyāmaha iti vyavahārād varṇānām arthāvasāyajanakatvānupapatteḥ ⸤prakriyānaṃgasyā prathamakāṃḍa eva vihitatvā niṇa eva kaṃ pratyāyakaṃ śabdatatvaṃ jātivyaktibhedena bhibha sphoṭasvabhāvam avaṃ⸤gīkāryaṃ gaur am artha iti va vāvakābhedena vāvyapratīteḥ tadadhyāsaścavitavavur vyavavahāryo rthaḥ || tatra va svarūpasya vāvya prāpratha⸤mavaṃtaḍa eva nirṇītā ihaṃ tu saṃvaṃdhamuddeśe pi nirṇevyato

abhidhāvyāpārabhakṣaṇatvam eva vyaktayati
jātau padā⸤rthe jātir vā viśeṣo vāpi jātivit ||
śabdair apekṣya yasmād atas te jātivāvinaḥ ||
jātau padārthe iti pakṣāvachedaṃ karoti atra hi pa⸤kṣe sarva eva śabdo jātivāvīty aśupagaṃtavyaṃ bhavatu mā bhūj jātiṣu jātiśabdais tu jātir vyatiriktayā jātyaikasvabhāvaivāpa⸤kṣyate pratyāyyatvena kiyate svālakṣyeṇyena hi vastūnāṃ bhedaḥ || śabdai spraṣṭuṃ na śakyate matve pi rūpāveśena samvaṃdhaḥ || vyutpattau śabdasya ⸤vāvakatvāt tathā va jātīnām itaretarabhedo vastu satābhidhīyate || api tv abhedakalpena tā abhidhīyaṃte abhedaṃ svasāmānya⸤m iti siddham ekaśabdatvaṃ jātaya iti
