sākhyā___viśeṣaprakāśanābhāvāt tu tad api paṃcamaṃ pada____ hi karma___vanta ⸤karmapravacanīyā ity atikrāṃtasya kriyākhyānalakṣaṇasya ___kāṃsyāva saṃbhavo na tu varttamānasyety u___ kriyāviśeṣadyotanapūrvakaṃ hi saṃbaṃdhāvache⸤danam atra varttamānaṃ tathā hi prasava saṃbandhaḥ kriyākṛta upakārasya bhāvitatvān na tasya kriyām antarṇopakārābhāvātva | tatraṃva kvaciśa kriyāśabdaḥ śrūya⸤te, kvacin na | yatra śrūyate tatra śrauta eva saṃvaṃvaviśeṣāvasāyaḥ tad yathā mātuḥ smarati mātuḥ smṛtam sarpiṣo janīta ityādyaû kriyā hi svabhāvād êva kri⸤yātaraṃ vyavadhānam antareṇaḥ | dravyaiḥ saṃstaṃyudyate | anye tu yasmān mātṛviṣaye pravarttate dyaṃvatiṣṭate tātmasmā_aṃbandhīdaṃ smaraṇam iti kriyākārakabhāva⸤pūrvaka evāyam abhisaṃbaṃdha iti varṇayanti_
aśrute tu kriyāpade dveyī gatiḥ kvacit saṃbaṃdhaś ca rūpamahimnevan niyavakriyāpekṣāsiddheḥ pratiniyata⸤kriyākārābhāvapūrvakatvaṃ śeṣasaṃbaṃdhasya vinaiva karmapravacanīyam avagamyate | tad yathā upagor apatvaṃ vṛkṣanya śākhetyādāv apatyāpatyavatsaṃbaṃdho ⸤janikriyānimitto vayavāvayavisaṃbaṃdhaś ca sthitikriyānimitta ityādi kvacit tu saṃbaṃdhānāṃ pratiniyatakriyāpūrvakatvāvavāraṇaiva nāsti sāLmarthyaṃ tad yathā rājñaḥ puruṣa ity atra svasvāmibhāvo bharaṇāṣv anekakriyānimitta ity evāvagamyate kriyāviśeṣan tu nāvadhāryate tannimittabhūta|s tathā hi bhā⸤vya yad bhedê etatra śvaṃ kaṃ nāma tac caturbhiḥ prakārair bhavati | bharaṇād apaharaṇāt krayaṇād yācñayeti | dānādīnāṃ tv aṃnyatamāvinā|bhāvān_ kriyānugīyata eva | ⸤kvacit tv āvinābhāvīnī kriyāvi na pratīyate | tathā caîvaṃjātīyake viṣaye karmapravacanīyo niyatanviśiṣṭakriyākṛtatva saṃbaṃdhasya viśeṣam avagaya⸤ti | tad uktaṃ janayitvā kriyā kācit saṃbaṃdhaṃ vinivarttate | śrūyamāṇe kriyāśabde saṃbaṃdho jāyate kvacit | sa copajātaḥ saṃbaṃdho vinivṛtte kriyāpadê ka⸤rmapravacanīyena tatra tatra niyamyata | iti niyaman tasya niyamas tataḥ kriyājanitatvaṃ | tathā hi | śākalyasya saṃhitādi pravaṣati co yaṃ saṃhitāpravarṣa⸤ṇayor hetuhetumadbhāvalakṣaṇaḥ saṃbaṃdhaḥ sa niyamaḥ kriyājanita ity anunā dyotyate | anuniśamyety atrānor niśamayatikrimanuyāsāhacaryopalabdharī⸤r iha saṃpāṭharūpatvāt mahitāyās tadanumānasyaucityāt tatra kriyāvacanatvam anyonyatra dṛṣṭaśakter na kalpya
dyotyārthaniṣṭaṃ ca dyotakam iti tad api kri⸤yāpadāprayemātra nu nāsti | na ca kriyāpadākṣepakatvaṃ yathā prādêśaṃ viparilikhatīty atra ver likhinā samanvayānupapattir nirmātikriyākṣepakatvaṃ | ⸤kārakavibhaktir hy atra prādeśad dhiti dvitīyeti yuktas tastemucitaḥ kriyākṣepaḥ | iha tu saṃhitām iti śaiṣikīyaṃ vibhaktir iti kathaṃ kriyākṣepaḥ | kriyākā⸤rakayor eva parāsparam ākṣepyākṣepakabhāvasyāvinābhāvaya nvāyyatvāt | tad yathā praviśa piṃḍīm ityādau | nāpi saṃbaṃdhavācakatvam atrānor vibhaktyaiva ⸤tadabhidhānād iti saṃbaṃdhāvacchedasya pratyāyako nānyaḥ sambhavatīti pāriśeṣyād anor atra sāmarthyām adhyavasīyate | tad uktaṃ | kriyayā dyotako nā⸤yaṃ saṃbamdhasya na vācakaṃ vāpi kriyāpadākṣepī saṃbaṃdhasya tu bhedaka iti | bhedako viśeṣadyotaka ity arthaḥ | ayam atra bhāvaḥ | yad ananyathāsiddhaṃ tatrā⸤nor vyāpārakalpanā yuktā yat yanvuvavana sāmarthyādinā nimittena siddhati na tatra tasya śaktiḥ kalpayitu pāryata iti padāṃtarāṇāṃ sāmarthyataraniveśā⸤t saṃbaṃdhaviśeṣasya tato navagatasya karmapravacanāṃyaviṣayatma siddhā | ca tu ca yad atrādhikyaṃ sa vākyārtha iti kriyāviśeṣajaninatvalakṣaṇaḥ saṃ⸤saṃdhasyāvachedo vā svārthaḥ kim iti na karalpate | anon tu paścādbhāvamavṛttimīti
ḍôtrācyate | ihāvikyaṃ vākyārthatvenocyamāna padārthapṛṣṭapātitve⸤naivānusaraṇīyaṃ na tu paprarthollaṃghanena tattadvākye pāttasya hi sādhyasya diśeṣyasya copāttar eva sādhanair viśeṣaṇaiś ca saṃsarvat tatrādhikyaṃ tad yathā gāṃ śu⸤klām ānaca nīlotpalam iti ca | ata evocyata āśrayāśrayiṇor vākyā nivamas tamaṃ vaticata iti | ichaṃ cānupāttasyaiva padārthasya | vākyāt pratītir nāL(ti uktarṣepu)stīti na saṃbaṃdhāvachedo padārthaḥ śakyate vākyārtha kalpayitum iti karmapravacanīyaviṣadha evārtha | yad vakṣyati | nimittaniyamaḥ śabdā⸤t saṃbaṃdhasya vākyāna gṛhyatau karmapravacanīyait tu sa viśeṣe varudhyate iti atra ca darśanadvayaṃ svarūpeṇaiva saṃbaṃdhāntaradhilakṣaṇaṃ karmapravacanīyetve⸤ja saṃbaṃdho vaschadyate śigrāviśeṣajanitatvena veti tatra svarūpeṇāvachedê viśiṣṭakriyājanitatvapratītiḥ saṃbaṃdhaviśe_ryālocanālabhyāḥ tathā ⸤hi śridhi brahmadatte paṃcālā iti svasvāmibhāvo tra saṃbaṃdha ity adhinā kalpyate brahmadattaś ca tva svāmīśvara paṃcālāś ca janadi cham iti tayoḥ saṃbaṃdhinoḥ ⸤paripālanakagadānādikriyāprabhāvita evāyaṃ saṃbaṃdho nyāyya ity avagamyate | evam abhikatyur arjunataḥ pratīti pratinā sādṛśalakṣaṇasa yaṃ sambaṃ⸤dha iti dyotyate | sa punaḥ saṃbaṃdhisvarūpaparyālocanād atra saṃpraharaṇādikriyākṛta ity avagamyate | ichaṃ ca śākalya asaṃhitām anu pravarṣad i⸤ty atrāpi hetuphalabhāvo nāmāyaṃ saṃbaṃdha ity etāvaty evāyam anur viśrāmya iti pāṭhaviśerūpatvāt saṃhitāyā niśamanakriyāhivagatiḥ śabda⸤pyavaṇena hi dêvo varṣad iti saṃbaṃdhimahinnā viśiṣṭakriyāprabhāvitattvam avasīyate | kecid iyān anor eva vyāpārā ity āhuḥ
svarūpāvachede ⸤pi ca kriyāyāḥ kāryabhūtasaṃbaṃdhāpekṣayātītatvāt_ karma proktavanta ity arthād iti śvamanvety eva vattutaḥ kriyāphalaviśeṣasaṃbaṃdhasya prakāśamānāt | ⸤yathā tu tatrabhavadbhatṛhare_ tatrābhiprāyo lakṣyate tathā nimittaviśeṣāvacheda eva karmapravacanīyakṛta iti rāddhāntaḥ | adhi brahmadatte paṃcālā i⸤ti paripālanakriyā | kṛ_ svasvāmibhāvasyādhinā vyajyato abhimanyur arjunataḥ pratīty atra parājayanādikṛto nukāryānukaraṇabhāvaḥ prati⸤nā prakāśyata ityādi_ sarvatra yojyaṃ muktatam atiktatam ityādau tu muḥ ptajāyām atir atikramaṇe cetyādinā karmapravacanīyasaṃjñādhikāri⸤kī ārthānirapekṣaîvopasargasaṃjñābādhavāya pravarttate | yathoktaṃ karmapravacanīyatvaṃ kriyāyoge vivīyate | ṣatvādivinivṛtyarthaṃ svatyādīnāṃ ⸤vidharmaṇām iti | ārthena tu rūpeṇa vibhāge tra praktate kriyāviśeṣāṃvadyāta_d upasargapadê svatvādir antabharvatīti nādyāptiḥ | tad êvaṃ vākyā⸤d apoddhriyamāṇasya padasyāvāpoddhārārthaviśeṣāśrayeṇa yathāsaṃbhavaṃ bhedô niraṃśavākyavyutpattāv upāyabhūtaḥ pradarśitaḥ | ata eva svādipa⸤daṃ vākyavyutpatyanagatvāchastre saṃketita bhyubaṃtāpade vyutpatyupāyabhūtaṃ neha gaṇanārhaṃ prakṛtipratyavavad iti dṛṣṭāṃtapakṣanikṣiptam iti nā⸤vyāptiḥ | padāt kilāv āpoddhāro na vākyāśa |

yad vā saṃbandhadyutpattijakāle gaur ayam artha ity arthajātyā śabdajāter atyatabhedāt sāmānā_karaṇyānyathānupapattyā'bhedādhyāropaḥ ka⸤lpyate yathā gaûr avāhīka iti | anyathā saṃketasyaiva kartum aśakyatvāta | yathā cāyam atādir apauruṣeyo cyavācakabhāvas tathādhyāropo pi a⸤nyathā vācyavācakabhāvo na ghaṭeta | yathā baûddhasya dṛśyavikalpo thaikikāro bhedānadhyavasāyalakṣaṇayaḥ na tu yadyā gaûr avāhīka ity a⸤tra puruṣechayādhyāropaḥ vyavahāre śabdārthayoḥ sadaîvābhedāvasāyāt | katham iyaṃ prativarṇam atabhivyaktā asādhāraṇī na tu ya_ hīka i)jātir agu⸤magamayabhāvibhir varṇaîr êbhidyachata iti cet | yathotkṣepaṇatvādijātir iti brūma tathā hi pratyekaṃ karmakṣaṇānām upachaṃjakatve pi yaḥ pratham utkṣe⸤pattaṣaṇaḥ sa paramāṇumātradeśākramaṇamātrarūpatvād bhamaṇakṣaṇā sārūpyavaśād anavadhāryamāṇabheda ekaiko samartho niyatajātyabhivyaṃja⸤ne iti kṣaṇaṃ_m apekṣave | na ca tasya bhramaṇakṣaṇād viśeṣo nāsti | upakrama evākṣipāmīty evaṃ prayatnajanitatvāt | evaṃ gośabdam uccārayāmīty a⸤yaṃ prayaṃnno pady api gaganaśabdajanakāt prayatnād anya eva hetubhodāc ca gakārayor api bheda eva | tathāpi sādṛśyād asau duravadhāra iti vyaṃjako pi ⸤san prathamo dhvanir asphuṭam abhivyanaktīty āvarttamāno pi na viśadatarasāmānyaviśeṣābhivyaktau hetuḥ | yadā tv ayavaprabaṃdha krameṇopalasto bha⸤vati | atha śabde jātiviṣaśeṣopādhiyuktā vyavahārā avatiṣṭhaṃte tadānīṃ sāhacaryāt parasparāvachedavaśena vilakṣaṇatayā | pratibhāsa⸤nātvad yathā ca ślokaḥ saha_ māno nāvadhāryate | abhyāsena sphuṭāvasāyas tathā carama iti cetasi cakāś cittatattva va sphoṭatattvaṃ prathamākṣareṇā ⸤hi jāter ābhāsama___ taduttarottaravarṇakalāpena tu sphuṭatarasphuṭatamaparichedādhānaḥ saṃnnudārasvākāraviśeṣotpādanadvāreṇābhivyaktivī⸤śeṣasya ratnatattvād adṛṣṭes tasmāchabdād arthaṃ pratipadyāmaha iti ca vyavahārād varṇānām arthāvasāyajanakatvānupapatteḥ | prakriyābhaṃgasya prathamakāṃ⸤ḍa eva vihitatatvān niravayavaṃ pratyāyakaṃ śabdatattvaṃ jātivyaktibhedena bhinnaṃ sphoṭasvabhāvam aṃgākāryaṃ gaûr ayam artha iti vyavikaraṇatvāt kamaLrthajātibhedena vyapadiśe dityāv avyatidaraśanaine tad yutyā vyapadeśāya kalpate vācakābhedena vācyapratītes tadadhyāsakhacitavapur vyavavarṇayo | sūtra ca rū⸤rūpasya vācyatā prathamakāṃḍa eva nirṇītā | iha tu saṃbandhasuddeśe pi nirṇeṣṭhate |

śabdārthasaṃbaṃdhasyātra yogyatālakṣaṇābhipretaḥ | sarvo hi śabdaḥ saṃjñātvena niyujyamānaḥ sarvatrā⸤rthe yogyatālakṣaṇena saṃbaṃdhena saṃbahūddhaḥ kevalaṃ śaktyavachedamātre saṃjñākarttur vyāpāro na tv apūrvasaṃkecakaraṇo arthasaṃbaṃdhasyāpauruṣeya⸤tvād ichaṃ cādaikṣu vṛddhiśabdo nāpūrva eva saṃketita iti sarveṣām anekārthatvād vaktṛbhedād vānekatve samānākārāopratyayanibaṃdhanaṃ jātêr eṣa⸤ṇīyā | tad yathāḥ kāśasya saṃyogibhedêna kalitabhedasyānekatve satity ākāśatvaṃ vakṣyate | na caivaṃ sarvasmāt sarvāṃrthaprasaṃtiprasaṃgaḥ praLsiddhivaśenārthapratīteḥ | kutracic ca kasyacit prasiddhatvāśa prasiddhānāṃ cārthānām arthaprakaraṇādayo vibhāgahetava uktā | tād yachā gośabdena nava⸤svartheṣu sannihiteṣu pi prakaraṇādêḥ pratiniyatārthāvasāyas tad êva śabdajātyā śabdavyaktir vācikā prathamabhedena vyapadiśyate | ___jātis tata⸤s tad vyaktir ity ayaṃ vāstavaḥ kramaḥ | pratyāyane tv akramataiva
śabdāchuritatve 'pi cārthasya na svarūpavyapagamaḥ | yathā hy ālokāchurito pi gha___rūpeṇa ⸤tirobhavati | evaṃ jātiśabdasvarūpoparakto rthaḥ svarūpāropeṇa śabdālokayor arthaprakāśakattvasyaivaṃvidhasya dṛṣṭer yathā ca gaur vāhīka ity atra ta ⸤gotvamātraṃ pratīyate 'pi tv addhyāropitagorūpo vāhīkaḥ evam ihāpi tu na sphaṭikamaṇyaṃ rthe śabdajāteḥ samāveśo vivakṣitas tasyaiva vāhīka_⸤_____tvā | _bhāvikaś cāyam arthapratyāyane śabdānām abhedasaṃbaṃdho bhyupāya iti pratipādyo pi tathaiva pratipadyate | na hi puruṣādhīnam atad anādau ⸤prasāre 'nenaîva prakāreṇa saṃbaṃdhavyutpatteḥ ko tra niyato dhyāropayitā kalpyatām avyutpannasaṃketasyāpi cābhinnapratyayotpatter arthajātir apy a⸤stīti na śabdajātir edādhyāropitāstv ibhi vādyaṃ śābdī ceyam evaṃvicā pratītir iti cākṣuṣeṇa raktādipratyayena nidarśanena dyutpāditā vakta⸤sainniveśitvābhāve pi ca śabdajāter anādir ayam adhyāropo rūḍhaḥ sad iva vyavahāre śabdārthayor abhedāvasāyād bhedasyāpi ca gaûr vāhīka itiva ⸤pratibhānān miyyājñānam ida na bhavati prāk va saṃbaṃdhasaṃvedanasamayād arthajātayo bhedênāvabhāṃty eva | adyutpannasaṃketasya bālakasya puro ⸤vachiteṣu sāsnādimatsu piṃḍeṣv abhinnaḥ pratyaya utpadyate tadā vācakasannidhānābhāvād abhinnapratyayahetur arthajātir avadhāryate | ata eva ⸤katha bhedênānirddhāritāyām arthajātau śabdajātiḥ samāropyetetyādi ta codanīyaṃ |/
jātikāryāya kalpata ity uktam evārtham abhivyanakti || ꣸ |
⸤jātiśabdaikaśeṣe jāsā jātīnāṃ jātir iṣyate |
śabdajātaya ity atra tajjātiḥ śabdajātiṣu ||
ākṛtyabhimatād vaikavibhaktau vājapyāyana⸤ iti jātipakṣe pratyākhyānād akaśeṣasya tatphalam ekaśabdaprayogo traikaśeṣa ity uktaḥ | sadvavivaktā vaikaśeṣeṇa lakṣyate | jātiśabdaîka⸤kaśeṣe prasakta iti vā yojanīyaṃ | evaṃ sati śabdajātir arthajātinām abhedênādhyaṃsyeva pratyāyyamānā jātiśabdagatā jātir ekaśabdatvā⸤ saṃpādayati jātikāryaṃ tad yathā gāvo vṛkṣā ityādir abhinnasāmānyanibandhanas tadêkārthasamavāyāt samāśritaviśiṣṭasaṃkhyāka eke ⸤śabdaprayoga | athā jātaya imā ity ayam api jātyāśrayāparajātyabhāvā dhācakagātyadhyāsāśraya upapadyate | śabdagataṃ ca sāmānyaṃ jātiLkāryam uparacayatīty ucyate | na tv arthajātisv eveti niyamaḥ kenacit kriyata iti | yadā śabdajātayo pi pratphāyyās tadā tāsv apy abhidhānagataṃ jā⸤tikāryāya kalpatā evety āha | śabdajātaya ity acetyādi | tajjātiḥ śabdajātiḥ śabdagataṃ sāmānyaṃ śabdajātaye ity atraîkaśabdaprayoge tasyo⸤ccāratasya śabdajātaya ity anenaikaśabdaprayogeṇa sā pi pratyāyyata iti na prayogānavaschāpattir ity abhiprāyana tad evaṃ svanikāyasiddhā sa⸤darśanāśrayeṇa sārvatrikāṃ jātipadārthavyavaschād aśabdajātiḥ śabdasya yā jātiḥ sā śabdajātiṣu gośabdatvādikāsu vyattischānīyā⸤su pratipādyāsv abhinnaśabdaprayoganibaṃdhanam ity arthaḥ |
yady evaṃ śabdajātiśabdagatānām api jātīnām anyā vācakajātis tāsām apy anyety anavaschā⸤prasaṃga ity āśaṃkyāha ||
yā śabdajāvi śabdebhyo bhinnalakṣaṇā |
jātiḥ sā śabdajātītvam apy atikramya varttate |
prayokṣabhedād vahuṣu śabdajāti⸤śabdeṣv abhinnapratyayanibaṃdhanaṃ yā jātis tebhya eva śabdebhyaḥ svāśrayabhūtebhyo bhinnasvabhāvā sā gośabdajātivargāṃtaḥpātinī na vyapadêśāṃtarārhā ⸤śabdajātiśabdasyāpi gośabdatvādivachabdajātaya ity anenaivaikaśabdaprayogeṇa pratyāyyata iti na prayomāvavaschāpattir ity abhiprāya |
tad êvaṃ svanikā⸤yasiddhāddhyāsadarśanāśrayeṇa sārvatrikī jātipadārthadyavaschā darśitā | svarūpabhūtā hi jātiḥ sarveṣāṃ śabdānām aṃtaraṃgatvād asādhāraṇatvāc ca pratya⸤saṃ pratipādyā | idānīm avyāsānāśrayeṇāpi prauḍhavāditayā jātipadārthavyāptim upapādayitum āha ||
arthajātyabhidhāne pi sarve jātyabhidhāyina
⸤vyāpāralakṣaṇā yasmāt padārthāḥ samavaschitāḥ ||
anyathā cātra saṃbaṃdhaḥ | tathā hi | akta śabdajāter arthajātīnāṃ jātikāryā saṃbadhavyutpattis tu na gha⸤ṭate | sa yatra hi saṃketas tatra śabdajātir adhyasyate | sa eva tv anekatvārthajātīnāṃ sāmānyāntaram aṃtareṇa na saṃbhavatīty āha arthajātyabhidhāne pītyā⸤di | yadā viśuddhā evārthajātayaḥ śabdaîr avabhidhīyata ity āśrīyate tadāpi sarve jātyabhidhāyinaḥ | jātyādiśabda api tadā jātivācina evaṃ ⸤nanu niḥsāmānyāni sāmānyānīkati siddhāntas tathaṃ jātyādiśabdā api jātyādhārī jātim abhidadhyur ity āha vyāpāralakṣaṇā iti | vyāpā⸤raḥ kāryaṃ prayojanaṃ tad eva lakṣyate neneti lakṣaṇaṃ hetur yeṣāṃ padapratyāyyānām arthānā te tathā niyamitasvarūpaḥ | ayam āśabdaya | vaiśeṣikādīnāṃ ⸤bhavantu niḥsāmānyāni sāmānyāni | tāni hi vyaktiṣv anneyapratyayāvaseyāni paropādhirūpāṇi svataṃtravyaktivadidaṃtāvabhāsitvābhāvāt sāmānyāṃtareṇa nopādhīyate | vaiyākaraṇānaṃ tu śabdārtho rtha ity abhyupayatām anvayirūpāvachedêna śābdasya pratyayasyotpapyatter jātiṣv api jāLtir aviruddhābhyupagamyā | etad eva hi vyaktiṣv api jātyabhyupagame nimittam ity atrāpi tathābhyupagame kaḥ pradveṣaḥ | pratyakṣa api ca padārthāḥ svakāryaṃ ⸤vijñānādikaṃ kurvaṃtaḥ saṃtīti vyavahriyate | kiṃ punaḥ śabdavācyāḥ padārthā iti sāmānyavacanā dravyādayo śabdavācyatvenaiva lakṣyaṃte | śabdapramāṇakā⸤nāṃ hi yachabda āha t__yat paramārtharūpaṃ | tathā cānvayirūpeṇa guṇo py abhidhīyamāno jātir eva | yathopamānasamāse śyāmādi | tathā copamānāni |⸤ sāmānyavacanair ity ucyate |
evaṃ kriyāś ca bhedênābhidhīyamānā jātiḥ | tathedaṃ tad iti svātaṃtryeṇa viśeṣyatayābhidhīyamānā jātiguṇakriyā ⸤api dravyam iti yathāvasarem agre nirṇeṣyata eva | etac ca laukikavyavahārānuṇyena śāstre smin_ vyutpādyate | śāstrāṃtarapraścisiddhā hi vyavaschā ⸤lokaviruddhā | loke hi gavi śṛṃgaṃ vṛkṣe śākheti vyavahāras tathaiva ca vyākaraṇe py ādhārasaptamīti | śāstrāṃtare ty avayavechavayatīni śṛṃge gauḥ śa⸤khāyāṃ vṛkṣa iti syāt | ichaṃ ca śabdābhidheyasyehārthatvāt_ sarve jātyabhidhāyino yasmāchabdavyāpāreṇa padārthā lakṣyaṃte | yady api bahir vastū⸤ni na saṃti tathāpi śabdaîs tathā pratyāyyaṃte ato bhidhānavyāpāravaśād anvayirūpeṇa pratyāyanād vyāsti|r jātaû padārthe siddhety eṣo py arthaḥ |
a⸤bhidhāna|vyāpāralakṣaṇatvam eva vyaktayati ||
jātau padārthe jātir viā viśeṣo vāpi jātivaśa
śabdair apekṣyate yasmād atas te jātivācinaḥ |
jātau ⸤padārtha iti pakṣāvachedaṃ karoti | atra hi pakṣe sarva eva jāśabdo jātivācīty abhyupagaṃtavyaṃ | bhavatu bhūj jātiṣu jātiḥ śabdais tu jātir vyati⸤riktayā jātyaikasvabhāvaîvāpekṣyate pratyāyyatvenāṃgīkriyate | svālakṣaṇyena hi vastūnāṃ bhedaḥ śabdaiḥ spraṣṭuṃ na śakyate | anvayirūpāveśena saṃ⸤baṃdhavyutpannau śabdaś ca prākacatvāt tathā ca jātīvām itaretarabhedo vastu san nābhidhīyate 'pi tv abhedakalpena tā abhidhīyate | abhedaś ca sāmānyam iti ⸤siddham enaśabdatvaṃ jātayati |
yo pi viśeṣaḥ saṃjñāśabdānāṃ vācyaḥ pratītiniyataḥ so pi jātivat prasiddhajātyā tulyam apekṣyate śabdaîs tavāpi hi bā⸤lyakaumārādyavaschābhedaḥ śabdena vṛśyate 'pi tv abh__vachātṛrūpam evānugartam atra siddhapratyabhijñāpratyayanimitta tatrāvaśyābhyupagaṃtavya|m ano ⸤yasmāj jātivat sarvam apekṣyate śabdaîs tasmāj janati viṣaye śeṣaṃ vā pratipādayantaḥ sarvajātyabhidhāyina iti jātyabhidhānavyāstipti nigama⸤yati | ichaṃ ca saṃjñāśabdānam avijātivādimate jātiśabdatvam ity ekai|va śabdānāṃ pravṛttiḥ |
evaṃ darśanāṃtare pi śabdavyāpārāśrayeṇaîva vyāpti⸤prasiddhir ity āha ||
dravyadharmā padārthe tu dravye sarvo rtha ucyate |
dravyadharmāśrayā dravyam ataḥ sarvo rtha iṣyate ||

vyāvṛttidharmaḥ sāmānyaviśeṣajābhir iṣyate ||

nanv evaṃ gopiṃḍeṣv api sāmnālāgūlakhurakaja⸤daviṣāṇādyavayavasaṃbaṃdhasya sādhāraṇa|tvāt saiva jāti | vyakta maivaṃ | sāsnādimattvena sāsnāvānityādiḥ pratyayo janyate na tu gaur gaûr ity a⸤nurūpaṃ hi kāryaṃ kāraṇaṃ kalpayati | tad yathā daṃḍīni pratyaye _saṃbaṃdho nimittaṃ na tu daṃḍopāditsā | yady evam anuvṛtyāpi nā jātir jātir iLti pratyayo yuktaḥ vyāvṛtyā ca viśeṣo viśeṣa iti | naitad eva | gatyaṃtarābhāvād atra sadṛśā eva dharmā jātiḥ kalpate mukhye jātimattve bādhakopapa⸤ttes tathā hi sāmānyeṣv aparasāmānyasamavāye navaschādibādhakam anyat_ nirṇītaṃ nidravyavṛttiṣu vyāvṛttapratyayajanakeṣu viśeṣeṣu sāmā⸤nyābhyupagame saṃśayāpanodāya viśeṣāṃtarakalpane teṣām api sāmānyasamavāye saṃśayaviṣayatvād viśeṣāṃtarābhyupagame 'navaschāprasaṃ⸤gaḥ | atha kaścin niḥsāmānyo sti viśeṣas tadā tadaviśeṣāt sarve pi tathā syur ity anyatra vistareṇokta gopiṃḍeṣu tuṃ sāmānyābhyupagame na kiṃ⸤cid bādhakam iti na tatra yathākathaṃcin nimittaṃ parikalpyaṃ tad êvaṃ yatra jātyabhyupagame pramāṇabādho sti tatra sadṛśadharmarūpā jātiḥ | tathā ⸤cābhāvêṣv api sāmānyābhyupagame bhāvatvāpatter abhavanātmakadharmasāmānyād anvayipratyayaviṣayateti saiva tatrāpi jātiḥ |
