This is a paper manuscript of third kāṇḍa of the Vākyapadīya with the commentary by Helārāja. It extends from the beginning until a few lines into the commentary on verse 51 (counted as 67 in the manuscript) of the Sādhanasamuddeśa. It is strongly correlated with the manuscript from the Bhau Dāji Memorial, which suggests that they descend from the same archetype.

sākṣāt kriyāviśeṣaprakāśanābhāvā tad api paṃcamaṃ padam iti kaiścit__ tathā hi karma proktavaṃtaḥ ⸤karmapravacanīyā iti atikrāṃtakriyākhyātalakṣaṇasya vyāpārasyātra saṃbhavo nanu varttamānasyety upasargebhyo bhedaḥ_ kriyāgataviśeṣadyotanapūrvakaṃ hi saṃbaṃ⸤dhāvachedanam atra vartamānam__ tathā hi sarvaḥ saṃbaṃdhaḥ kriyākṛta upakārakriyocitatvā tasya kriyām aṃtareṇa upakārābhāvāt__ tatra kvacit kriyāśabdaḥ śrūya ⸤kvacin na śrūyate tatra śrauta eva saṃbaṃdhaviśeṣāvasāyaḥ tad yathā mātuḥ smarati mātuḥ smṛtaṃ_ sarpiṣo jānīta ityādau kriyā hi svabhāvād eva kriyāṃtaravyavadhā⸤nam aṃtareṇa dravyaiḥ saṃyujyate_ yasmān mātāpitṛviṣaye pravarttate 'vatiṣṭhate vā tasmān mātāpitṛsaṃbaṃdhīdaṃ smaraṇam iti kriyākārakabhāvapūrvaka evā⸤yam api saṃbaṃdha iti¦ varṇayaṃti_
aśrute tu kriyāpade dvayī gatiḥ kvacit saṃbaṃdhasvarūpamahimnaiva kriyāpekṣasiddheḥ pratiniyatakriyākārakabhāvapūrvakatvaṃ ⸤śeṣasaṃbaṃdhasya vinaiva karmapravacanīyam avagamyate_ tad yathā upagor apatyaṃ vṛkṣasya śākhetyādāv apatyavatsaṃbaṃdho janikriyānimito vayavāvayavisaṃbaṃdha⸤ś ca sthitikriyānimita ityādi_ kvacit saṃbaṃdhānāṃ pratiniyatakriyāpūrbakatvāvadhāraṇe nāsti sāmarthyaṃ tad yathā rājñaḥ puruṣa ity atra svasvāmibhāvo bharaṇā⸤dyanekakriyānimita ity evāvagamyate_ kriyāviśeṣo nāvadhāryate | tannimitabhūtaḥ_ tathā ca bhāṣyaṃ yad etat svaṃ nāma caturbhiḥ prakārair bhavatī bharaṇād apahara⸤ṇāt krayaṇād yāñcayeti dānādīnāṃ tv ananyatayāvinābhāvāt kriyānumīyata eva kvacit tv avinābhāvinī kriyāpi na pratīyate tathā caivaṃ jātīyake viṣaye ⸤karmapravacanīyo niyataviśiṣṭakriyākṛtatvaṃ saṃbaṃdhasya viśeṣam avagamayati_ tad uktaṃ_ janayitvā kriyāṃ kāṃcit saṃbaṃdho vinivarttate_ śrūyamāṇe kriyāśaLbde saṃbaṃdho jñāyate kvacit_ sa copajātaḥ saṃbaṃdho vinivṛte kriyāpade karmapravacanīyena tatra tatra niyamyata iti niyamas tasya niyatakriyājanitatvaṃ ⸤tathā hi śākalasya saṃhitām anu prāvarṣad iti yo yaṃ saṃhitāprāvarṣaṇayor hetuhetumadbhāvalakṣaṇaḥ saṃbaṃdhaḥ sa niyatakriyājanita ity anunā vedyate ⸤anuniśamyety atrānor niśamayati_kriyāsāhacaryopaladhber iha saṃpāṭharūpatvāt saṃhitāyāṃs tadanumānasyaucityāt_ tatra kriyāvacanatvam asyānya⸤tra dṛṣṭaśakter na kalpyaṃ_
dyotyārthaṃ niṣṭhaṃ ca dyotakatvam iti tad api kriyāpadāprayogād atra nāsti na ca kriyāpadākṣepakatvaṃ_ yathā prādeśaṃ viparilikhatīty a ⸤ca lekhanakriyānupapater mimātikriyākṣepakatvaṃ kārakavibhaktir hi yatra prādeśam iti dvitīyeti yuktas tatsamucitakriyākṣepaḥ iha tu saṃhitām iti ⸤śaiṣikī vibhaktir iti kathaṃ kriyākṣepaḥ kriyākārakayor eva parasparam ākṣepyākṣepakabhāvasyāvinābhāve nyāyyatvāt__ tad yathā_ praviśa piṃḍīm ityā⸤dau nāpi saṃbaṃdhavācitvam atrāmoḥ_ vibhaktyaiva tadabhidhānād iti saṃbaṃdhāvachedasya pratyāyako nānyaḥ saṃbhavatīti pāriśeṣyād anor atra sāmarthyam adhyava⸤sīvyate_ tad uktaṃ_ kriyāyā dyotako nāyaṃ saṃbaṃdhasya na vācakaḥ_ nāpi kriyāpadākṣepī saṃbaṃdhasya tu bhedaka iti_ bhedako viśeṣako dyotaka ity arthaḥ_ ayam atra ⸤bhāvaḥ_ yad anyathāsiddhaṃ tatrāno vyāpārakalpanā yuktā_ yat punar anyathārthasāmarthyādinā sidhyati na tatra tasya śaktiḥ kalpayituṃ pāryata iti padāntarāṇā⸤m arthāṃtaraniveśat saṃbaṃdhaviśeṣasya tato navagatasya karmapravacanīyaviṣayatā siddhā_ nanu yad atrādhikyaṃ vākyārthaḥ sa iti kriyāviśeṣajanitatvala⸤kṣaṇaḥ saṃbaṃdhasyāvachedo vākyārthaḥ_ kim iti na kathyate anos tu paścādbhāvamātravṛtitvam eveti
atrocyate_ ihādhikyaṃ vākyārthatvenocyamāna padārthapṛṣṭhapā⸤titvenānusaraṇīyam_ na tu padārthollaṃghanena tattadvākyopātasya hi sādhyasya vā viśeṣyasya copāttair eva sādhanair viśeṣaiś ca saṃsargas tatrādhikyam__ tad yathā ⸤gāṃ śuklām ānaya nīlotpalam iti ca_ ata evocyate_ āśrayāśrayiṇor vākyān niyamas tavatiṣṭhata iti_ itthaṃ cānupātasyaiva padārthasya vākyārthāt pratī⸤tir nāstīti na saṃbaṃdhāvachedo trāpadārtho vākyārthaḥ śakyate kalpayitum iti karmapravacanīyaviṣaya evāyaṃ_ yad vakṣyati nimitaniyamaḥ śabdāt saṃbaṃdhasya na gṛ⸤hyate_ karmapravacanīyais tu svaviśeṣe varudhyate iti_ atra ca darśanadvayaṃ_ svarūpeṇaiva saṃbaṃdhāṃtaralakṣaṇaḥ karmapravacanīyena saṃbaṃdho vachidyate_ kriyāviśeṣaja⸤nitatvena veti_ tatra svarūpeṇāvachede viśeṣakriyājanitatvapratītiḥ saṃbaṃdhiviśeṣatāparyālocanālabhyā tathā hi_ adhibrahmadatte paṃcālā ity atra ti ⸤svasvāmibhāvo yaṃ saṃbaṃdha ity adhinā vedyate_ brahmadattaś ca svāmīśvaraḥ paṃcālāś ca janapadaḥ svam iti_ tayoḥ saṃbaṃdhinoḥ paripālanakarādānādikriyāprabhāvi⸤ta eva saṃbaṃdho nyāyya ity avagamyate_ evam abhimanyur arjjunaḥ pratīti pratinā sādṛśyalakṣaṇo vyaṃ saṃbaṃdha iti dyotyate_ saṃbaṃdhisvarūpaparyālocanayāLd atra saṃpraharaṇāvikriyākṛta ity avagamyate_ itthaṃ ca śākalyasya saṃhitām anu prāvarṣad ity atrāpi hetuphalābhāvo nāmāyaṃ saṃbaṃdha ity etāvaty evāyam anur vi⸤śrāmyati_ pāṭaviśeṣarūpatvāt saṃhitāyā niśamanakriyāvagatiḥ_ śabdaśravaṇena hi devo varṣad iti saṃbaṃdhamahimno viśiṣṭakriyāprabhāvitvam avasīya⸤te_ kecid iyān anor eva vyāpāra ity āhuḥ_

jātau padārthe jātir vā viśeṣo vāpi jātivat_
