(mithyopacārāt ... ekaśaś ca) correspond to four hemistichs in anuṣṭubh
of the vulgate (4cd--6ab). Three of the four hemistichs found in the vulgate
(5ab--6ab) are repeated verbatim in Mādhavanidāna 62.1ab-2ab. raktakṣayā vāminī sraṃsanī ca

triṣṭubh correspond to three hemistichs in

supported by our MSS here. However, it is found in both the parallel verse of the
vulgate (6.38.8ab) and at a later instance in the Nepalese MSS (see, e.g., verse 12
below). It is likely that the superscipt "r" in the reading of KL
699 (karṇṇirna) reflects upon an earlier corruption of an

vikṣepaṇañ ca gātrā m etad asthigate jvare || tamaḥ praveśanaṃ hikkā kāsaḥ
śaityam vamiss tṛṣā tathā |
antarddāho mahāśvāso marmmacchedaś ca majjage ||
maraṇaṃ prāpnuyāt tatra śukrasthānagate jvareparaṃ | śephasaḥ stabdhatā mokṣaḥ śuklasya
tu viśeṣataḥ ||
dagdhe 'ndhano yathā vahnir ddhātuṃ hatvā yathā viṣaṃ | kṛtakṛtyo vrajec chāntin dehaṃ
hatvā tathā jvaraḥ ||
vātapittakapho tthānāṃ jvarāṇāṃ lakṣaṇaṃ yathā | tathā teṣām bhiṣag brūyād rasādiṣv

śatadhautaghṛtābhyaktandihedvāyavasaktubhiḥ | kolāmalakasaṃyuktairdhānyāmlena ca
vuddhimāṃ | amlapiṣṭaissuśītair vā palāśatarujair
dihet |
vadarīpallavotthena phenenāriṣṭakasya vā | yavārdhakuḍavaṃ piṣṭvā
maṃjiṣṭhārdhapalantathā | aṃvlaprasthaśatonmiśraṃ tailaprastham
vipācayet |
etat prahlādanan tailaṃ jvaradāhavināśanaṃ | nyagrodhādir gaṇo yaś ca kākolyādiś ca yaḥ
smṛtaḥ |
utpalādiś cargaṇo yaś ca piṣṭair vātaiḥ pralepayet | tatkaṣāyāmlasaṃyuktā snehāś cābhyañjane
hitāḥ |
teṣāṃ śītakaṣāye vā dāhāntam avagāhayet | dāhavege tvatikrānte tasmāduddhṛtyamānavaṃ
|
pradihyātchatadhautena sarpiṣā candanena vā | glānamvā dīnamanasamāśliṣeyurvarāṅganāḥ |
dukūlakṣaumasamvītāścandanārdrapayodharāḥ | vibhratyaḥ sragvicitrās tu
maṇihāravibhūṣitāḥ |
bhajeyus taṃ tanaiḥ śītaiḥspṛśaṃtyāṃvuruhaissukhaiḥ | prahlādanañca vijñāya tā
strīrapanayetpunaḥ |
bhojayeddhitamaṃnañ ca tathā sukhamavāpnuyāt || gamayet pittam evādau jvareṣu samavāyiṣu
||
dirnimvārataran tad dhi jva bhārgīśārivādvayacitrakaiḥ |
dantī ca śreyasī pāṭhā etaḥ prasthaghṛtam pacet ||mūtrāśakṛdrase tulye dadhimūtra
yathāyutaṃ |
pañcagavyam iti khyātam etat sarpiś caturthakam | gulmapāṃḍāmayekāsaṃ kāmalām udarāṇi ca |
arśāṃsi śoṣam unmādam apasmārabhagandaram | grahā na lakṣmīpādhmānaṃ pītaṃ caitad
vyapohati |
vinā vātkvāthakalkābhyāṃ pañcagāvyaṃ ghṛtaṃ śritaḥ | tad api jvarapāṇḍutvaśoṣāpasmārajighṛtaṃ
|
triphalā saptalānimbapaṭolīvṛṣaśārivā | kuṭajatvaḍphalāmpāṭhā saptāhasumanāvṛtā
|
vetasaś candanaṃ mūrvā karaṇḍakaṭurohiṇī | haridrāpippalaṃ tv aiva piṣṭaiḥ
karṣasamaiḥ pacet
jaladroṇe ghṛtaprasthaṃ viṣamajvaranāśanaṃ | kāse śvāse pratiśyāye raktapitte
bhagandare |
pāṇḍutvamehakuṣṭeṣu hṛdrauge vātaśoṇite | pittagulmaikacauraiva kāmalāyāñ ca
pūjitaṃ |
śīlayet maguḍāṃ śuñṭhīm abhayāñ cāpi pūjitaḥ | hy atapradhānapittan tu svastho janayati
jvaraṃ |
pibed ikṣurasān tatra śītamvā śarkarodakaṃ | śāliṣaṣṭikayoś cānnaṃ kṣīreṇāplutam
aśnuyāt | ghṛta dvādaśarātrāt tu deyaṃ sarvajvareṣu
vai |
tenāntarenāśaya sva gatā doṣā bhavanti hi | tadeva śūnyaśirasāṃ sarpir nnastam
prayojayet |
śleṣmeṇas tu samutktreśe dhūmāṃ vrāyośikam pibet | mūrcchāyām iti nidrāyāṃ kuryāc
chītavivarjitaḥ | dhātūṃ saṃkṣobhayeddoṣo mokṣakāle valīyasi
|
tena vyākulacittasya visaṃjña iva lakṣyate | svedo laghutvaṃ śirasaḥ kaṇḍūpāko mukhasya
ca |
kṣvavathuś cānna lipsā ca jvaramuktasya lakṣaṇaṃ | vyāpitvāt sarvasaṃsparśāt kṛcchratvād
antasambhavā |
dantako hy eṣa manyānā jvara ity upadiśyate iti ||
