cikitsāsthānaṃ
ekaviṃśatitamo 'dhyāyaḥ|
athātaḥ śūkadoṣacikitsitaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ||
yathovāca bhagavān dhanvantariḥ||
saṃlikhya sarṣapīṃ samyak kaṣāyair avacūrṇayet | kaṣāyeṣv
eva tailaṃ ca kurvīta vraṇaropaṇam||
aṣṭhīlikāṃ jalaukobhir grāhayec ca punaḥ punaḥ | tathā
cānupaśāmyantīṃ kaphagranthivad uddharet||
svedayed grathitaṃ śaśvan nāḍīsvedena buddhimān |
sukhoṣṇair upanāhaiś ca susnigdhair upanāhayet ||
kumbhīkāṃ pākamāpannāṃ bhindyāc chuddhāṃ tu ropayet |
tailena triphalālodhratindukāmrātakena tu ||
grāhayitvā jalaukobhir alajīṃ secayet tataḥ |
kaṣāyais teṣu siddhaṃ ca tailaṃ ropaṇam iṣyate ||
balātailena koṣṇena mṛditaṃ pariṣecayet |
bhadhuraiḥ sarpiṣā snigdhaiḥ sukhoṣṇair upanāhayet ||
saṃmūḍhapiḍakāṃ kṣipraṃ jalaukobhir upācaret |
bhittvā paryāgatāṃ cāpi lepayet kṣaudrasarpiṣā ||
avamanthe gate pākaṃ bhinne tailaṃ vidhīyate |
dhavāśvakarṇapattaṅgasallakītindukīkṛtam ||
kriyāṃ puṣkarikāyāṃ tu śītāṃ sarvāṃ prayojayet |
jalaukobhir hareccāsṛk sarpiṣā cāvasecayet ||
sparśahānyāṃ hared raktaṃ pradihyānmadhurair api |
kṣīrekṣurasasarpirbhiḥ secayec ca suśītalaiḥ ||
piḍakām uttamākhyāṃ ca baḍiśenoddhared bhiṣak |
uddhṛtya madhusaṃyuktaiḥ kaṣāyair avacūrṇayet ||
rasakriyā vidhātavyā likhite śataponake |
pṛthak parṇyādisiddhaṃ ca deyaṃ tailam anantaram ||
kriyāṃ kuryād bhiṣak prājñas tvakpākasya visarpavat |
raktavidradhivac cāpi kriyā śoṇitaje 'rbude ||
kaṣāyakalkasarpīṃṣi tailaṃ cūrṇaṃ rasakriyām |
śodhanaṃ ropaṇaṃ caiva vīkṣya vīkṣyāvacārayet ||
hitaṃ ca sarpiṣaḥ pānaṃ pathyaṃ cāpi cirecanam |
hitaḥ śoṇitamokṣaś ca yac cāpi laghu bhojanam ||
arbudaṃ māṃsapākaṃ ca vidradhiṃ tilakālakam |
pratyākhyāya prakurvīta bhiṣak samyak pratikriyām ||
iti suśrutasaṃhitāyāṃ cikitsāsthāne śūkarogacikitsitaṃ
nāmaikaviṃśo 'dhyāyaḥ ||21 ||
dvāviṃśatitamo 'dhyāyaḥ |
athāto mukharogacikitsitaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ ||

caturvidhena snehena madhūcchiṣṭayutena ca |
vātaje 'bhyañjanaṃ dantavaidarbhe dantamūlāni śodhayet |
tataḥ ksāraṃ prayuñjīta kriyāḥ sarvāś ca śītalāḥ ||
vidadhyādoṣṭhakope tu sālvaṇaṃ copanāhane| mastiṣke caiva
nasye ca tailaṃ vātaharaṃ hitam||
śrīveṣṭakaṃ sarjarasaṃ suradāru saguggulu|
yaṣṭīmadhukacūrṇaṃ tu vidadhyāt pratisāraṇam||
pittaraktābhighātotthaṃ jalaukobhir upācaret|
pittavidradhivac cāpi kriyāṃ kuryād aśeṣataḥ||
śirovirecanaṃ dhūmaḥ svedaḥ kavala eva ca| hṛte rakte
prayoktavyamoṣṭhakope kaphātmake||
tryūṣaṇaṃ svarjikākṣāro yavakṣāro viḍaṃ tathā|
kṣaudrayuktaṃ vidhātavyametac ca pratisāraṇam||
medoje svedite bhinne śodhite jvalano hitaḥ|
priyaṅgutriphalālodhraṃ sakṣaudraṃ pratisāraṇam||
etadoṣṭhaprakopānāṃ sādhyānāṃ karma kīrtitam|
dantamūlagatānāṃ tu rogāṇāṃ karma vakṣyate||
śītāde hṛtarakte tu toye nāgarasarṣapān| niṣkvāthya
triphalāṃ mustaṃ gaṇḍūṣaḥ sarasāñjanaḥ||
priyaṅgavaś ca mustaṃ ca triphalā ca pralepanam| nasyaṃ
ca triphalāsiddhaṃ madhukotpalapadmakaiḥ||
dantapuppuṭake kāryaṃ taruṇe raktamokṣaṇam|
sapañcalavaṇaḥ kṣāraḥ sakṣaudraḥ pratisāraṇam||
hitaḥ śirovirekaś ca nasyaṃ snigdhaṃ ca bhojanam|
visrāvite dantaveṣṭe vraṇāṃs tu pratisārayet||
rodhrapattaṅgayaṣṭyāhvalākṣācūrṇairmadhūttaraiḥ| gaṇḍūṣe
kṣīriṇo yojyāḥ sakṣaudraghṛtaśarkarāḥ||
kākolyādau daśakṣīrasiddhaṃ sarpiś ca nasyataḥ| śauṣire
hṛtarakte tu rodhramustarasāñjanaiḥ||
sakṣaudraiḥ śasyate lepo gaṇḍūṣe kṣīriṇo hitāḥ|
sārivotpalayaṣṭyāhvasāvarāgurucandanaiḥ||
kṣīre daśaguṇe siddhaṃ sarpirnasye ca pūjitam| kriyāṃ
paridare kuyācchītākoktāṃ vicakṣaṇaḥ||
saṃśodhyobhayataḥ kāryaṃ śiraścopakuśe tathā|
kākodumbarikāgojīpatrairvisrāvayed asṛk||
kṣaudrayuktaiś ca lavaṇaiḥ savyoṣaiḥ pratisārayet|
pippalīḥ sarṣapāñ śvetānnāgaraṃ naiculaṃ phalam||
sukhodakena saṃsṛjya kavalaṃ cāpi dhārayet| ghṛtaṃ
madhurakaiḥ siddhaṃ hitaṃ kavalanasyayoḥ||
śastreṇa dantavaidarbhe dantamūlāni śodhayet| tataḥ
ksāraṃ prayuñjīta kriyāḥ sarvāś ca śītalāḥ||
uddhṛtyādhikadantaṃ tu tato 'gnimavacārayet |
kṛmidantakavac cāpi vidhiḥ kāryo vijānatā ||
chittvā 'dhimāṃsaṃ sakṣaudrair ebhiś cūrṇair upācaret |
vacātejovatīpāṭhāsvarjikāyāvaśūkajaiḥ ||
kṣaudradvitīyāḥ pippalyaḥ kavalaś cātra kīrtitaḥ |
paṭolatriphalānimbakaṣāyaś cātra dhāvane |
hitaḥ śirovirekaś ca dhūmo vair ecanaś ca yaḥ ||
sāmānyaṃ karma nāḍīnāṃ viśeṣaṃ cātra me śṛṇu |
nāḍīvraṇaharaṃ karma dantanāḍīṣu kārayet ||
yaṃ dantam abhijāyeta nāḍī taṃ dantamuddharet |
chittvā māṃsāni śastreṇa yadi noparijo bhavet ||
śodhayitvā dahec cāpi kṣāreṇa jvalanena vā |
bhinattyupekṣite dante hanukāsthi gatirdhruvam ||
samūlaṃ daśanaṃ tasmād uddharedbhagnamasthiram |
uddhṛte tūttare dante ca sthānaṃ vidahet suṣirasya ca |
tato vidārīyaṣṭyāhvaśṛṅgāṭakakaserukaiḥ ||
raktātiyogāt pūrvektā rogā ghorā bhavanti hi|
kāṇaḥ saṃjāyate janturarditaṃ cāsya jāyate||
calam apy uttaraṃ dantam ato nāpahared bhiṣak|
dhāvane jātimadanasvādukaṇṭakakhādiram||
kaṣāyaṃ jātimadanakaṭukasvādukaṇṭakaiḥ|
yaṣṭyāhvarodhramañjiṣṭhākhadiraiś cāpi yat kṛtam||
tailaṃ saṃśodhanaṃ taddhi hanyād dantagatāṃ gatim|
kīrtitā dantamūle tu kriyā danteṣu vakṣyate||
snehānāṃ kavalāḥ koṣṇāḥ sarpiṣastraivṛtasya vā| niryūhāś
cānilaghnānāṃ dantaharṣapramardanāḥ||
snaihikaś ca hito dhūmo nasyaṃ snigdhaṃ ca bhojanam|
raso rasayavāgvaś ca kṣīraṃ santānikā ghṛtam||
śirobastir hitaś cāpi kramo yaś cānilāpahaḥ|
ahiṃsan dantamūlāni śarkarām uddhared bhiṣak||
lākṣācūrṇairmadhuyutais tatastāḥ pratisārayet|
dantaharṣakriyāṃ cāpi kuryān niravaśeṣataḥ||
kapālikā kṛcchratamā tatrāpy eṣā kriyā hitā| jayed
visrāvaṇaiḥ svinnam acalaṃ kṛmidantakam||
tathā+avapīḍair vātaghnaiḥ snehagaṇḍūṣadhāraṇaiḥ|
bhadradārvādivarṣābhūlepaiḥ snigdhaiś ca bhojanaiḥ||
calamuddhṛtya ca sthānaṃ vidahet suṣirasya ca| tato
vidārīyaṣṭyāhvaśṛṅgāṭakakaserukaiḥ||
tailaṃ daśaguṇe kṣīre siddhaṃ nasye hitaṃ bhavet |
hanomokṣe samuddiṣṭāṃ kuryāc cārditavat kriyām ||
phalānyamlāni śītāmbu rūkṣānnaṃ dantadhāvanam |
tathā 'tikaṭhinān bhakṣyān dantarogī vivarjayet ||
sādhyānāṃ dantarogāṇāṃ cikitsitamudīritam |
jihvāgatānāṃ sādhyānāṃ karma vakṣyāmi siddhaye ||
auṣṭhaprakope 'nilaje yaduktaṃ prāk cikitsitam |
kaṇṭakeṣv anilottheṣu tat kāryaṃ bhiṣajā bhavet ||
pittajeṣu vighṛṣṭeṣu niḥsṛte duṣṭaśoṇite |
pratisāraṇagaṇḍūṣaṃ nasyaṃ ca madhuraṃ hitam ||
kaṇṭakeṣu kaphottheṣu likhiteṣv asṛjaḥ kṣaye |
pippalyādirmadhuyutaḥ kāryas tu pratisāraṇe ||
gṛhṇīyāt kavalāṃś cāpi gaurasarṣapasaindhavaiḥ |
paṭolanimbavārtākukṣārayūṣaiś ca bhojayet ||
upajihvāṃ tu saṃlikhya kṣāreṇa pratisārayet |
śirovirekagaṇḍūṣadhūmaiś cainamupācaret ||
jihvāgatānāṃ karmoktaṃ tālavyānāṃ pravakṣyate |
aṅguṣṭhāṅgulisaṃdaṃśenākṛṣya galaśuṇḍikām ||
chedayen maṇḍalāgreṇa jihvopari tu saṃsthitām |
notkṛṣṭaṃ caiva hīnaṃ ca tribhāgaṃ chedayed bhiṣak ||
atyādānāt sravedraktaṃ tannimittaṃ mriyeta ca |
hīnacchedādbhavec chopho lālā nidrā bhramastamaḥ ||
tasmād vaidyaḥ prayatnena dṛṣṭakarmā viśāradaḥ |
galaśuṇḍīṃ tu sañchidya kuryāt prāptamimaṃ kramam ||
maricātiviṣāpāṭhāvacākuṣṭhakuṭannaṭaiḥ |
kṣaudrayuktaiḥ salavaṇais tatastāṃ pratisārayet ||
vacāmativiṣāṃ pāṭhāṃ rāsnāṃ kaṭukarohiṇīm |
niṣkvāthya picumandaṃ ca kavalaṃ tatra yojayet ||
iṅgudīkiṇihīdantīsaralāsuradārubhiḥ |
pañcāṅgīṃ kārayet piṣṭair vartiṃ gandhottarāṃ śubhām ||
tato dhūmaṃ pibejjanturdvirahnaḥ kaphanāśanam |
kṣārasiddheṣu mudgeṣu yūṣaś cāpy aśane hitaḥ ||
tuṇḍikeryadhruṣe kūrme saṅghāte tālupuppuṭe |
eṣa eva vidhiḥ kāryo viśeṣaḥ śastrakarmaṇi ||
tālupāke tu kartavyaṃ vidhānaṃ pittanāśanam |
snehasvedau tāluśoṣe vidhiś cānilanāśanaḥ ||
kīrtitaṃ tālujānāṃ tu kaṇṭhyānāṃ karma vakṣyate |
sādhyānāṃ rohiṇīnāṃ tu hitaṃ śoṇitamokṣaṇam ||
chardanaṃ dhūmapānaṃ ca gaṇḍūṣo nasyakarma ca |
vātikīṃ tu hṛte rakte lavaṇaiḥ pratisārayet ||
sukhoṣṇān snehagaṇḍūṣān dhārayec cāpy abhīkṣṇaśaḥ |
pataṅgaśarkarākṣaudraiḥ paittikīṃ pratisārayet ||
drākṣāparūṣakakvātho hitaś ca kavalagrahe |
agāradhūmakaṭukaiḥ ślaiṣmikīṃ pratisārayet ||
śvetāviḍaṅgadantīṣu tailaṃ siddhaṃ sasaindhavam |
nasyakarmaṇi yoktavyaṃ tathā kavaladhāraṇe ||
pittavat sādhayed vaidyo rohiṇīṃ raktasaṃbhavām |
visrāvya kaṇṭhaśālūkaṃ sādhayet tuṇḍikerivat ||
ekakālaṃ yavānnaṃ ca bhuñjīta snigdhamalpaśaḥ |
upajihvikavac cāpi sādhayed adhijihvikām ||
ekavṛndaṃ tu visrāvya vidhiṃ śodhanamācaret |
gilāyuś cāpi yo vyādhistaṃ ca śastreṇa sādhayet ||
amarmasthaṃ supakvaṃ ca bhedayed galavidradhim |
vātāt sarvasaraṃ cūrṇair lavaṇaiḥ pratisārayet ||
tailaṃ vātaharaiḥ siddhaṃ hitaṃ kavalanasyayoḥ |
tato 'smai snaihikaṃ dhūmamimaṃ dadyādvicakṣaṇaḥ ||
śālarājādanair aṇḍasāraiṅgudamadhūkajāḥ |
majjāno gugguludhyāmamāṃsīkālānusārivāḥ |
śrīsarjarasaśaileyamadhūcchiṣṭāni cāharet ||
tat sarvaṃ sukṛtaṃ cūrṇaṃ snehenāloḍya yuktitaḥ |
ṭiṇḍūkavṛntaṃ sakṣaudraṃ matimāṃstena lepayet ||
eṣa sarvasare dhūmaḥ praśastaḥ snaihiko mataḥ |
kaphaghno mārutaghnaś ca mukharogavināśanaḥ ||
pittātmake sarvasare śuddhakāyasya dehinaḥ |
sarvaḥ pittaharaḥ kāryo vidhirmadhuraśītalaḥ ||
pratisāraṇagaṇḍūṣau dhūmaḥ saṃśodhanāni ca |
kaphātmake sarvasare vidhiṃ kuryāt kaphāpaham ||
pibedativiṣāṃ pāṭhāṃ mustaṃ ca suradāru ca |
rohiṇīṃ kaṭukākhyāṃ ca kuṭajasya phalāni ca ||
gavāṃ mūtreṇa manujo bhāgair dharaṇasaṃmitaiḥ |
eṣa sarvān kaphakṛtān rogān yogo 'pakarṣati ||
kṣīrekṣurasagomūtradadhimastvamlakāñjikaiḥ |
vidadhyāt kavalān vīkṣya doṣaṃ tailaghṛtair api ||
rogāṇāṃ mukhajātānāṃ sādhyānāṃ karma kīrtitam |
asādhyā api vakṣyante rogā ye tatra kīrtitāḥ ||
auṣṭhaprakope varjyāḥ syur māṃsaraktatridoṣajāḥ |
dantamūleṣu varjyau tu triliṅgagatisauṣirau ||
danteṣu ca na sidhyanti śyāvadālanabhañjanāḥ |
jihvāgateṣv alāsas tu tālavyeṣv arbudaṃ tathā ||
svaraghno valayo vṛndo vidāryalasa eva ca |
galauṣṭho māṃsatānaś ca śataghnī rohiṇī ca yā ||
asādhyāḥ kīrtitā hyete rogā nava daśaiva ca |
teṣāṃ cāpi kriyāṃ vaidyaḥ pratyākhyāya samācaret ||
iti suśrutasaṃhitāyāṃ cikitsāsthāne mukharogacikitsitaṃ nāma
dvāviṃśo 'dhyāyaḥ ||22 ||
trayoviṃśatitamo 'dhyāyaḥ |
athātaḥ śophānāṃ cikitsitaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ ||
yathovāca bhagavān dhanvantariḥ ||
ṣaḍvidho 'vayavasamutthaḥ śopho 'bhihito lakṣaṇataḥ
pratīkārataś ca; sarvasaras tu pañcavidhaḥ, tad yathā
vātapittaśleṣmasannipātaviṣanimittaḥ ||
tatrāpatarpitasyādhvagamanādatimātramabhyavaharato vā
piṣṭānnaharitakaśākalavaṇāni kṣīṇasya vā 'timātramamlam upasevamānasya
mṛtpakvaloṣṭakaṭaśarkarānūpaudakamāṃsasevanādajīrṇino vā
grāmyadharmasevanādviruddhāhārasevanāt vā
hastyaśvoṣṭrarathapadātisaṅkṣobhaṇādayo sitasya doṣā dhātūn pradūṣya
śvayathum āpādayanty akhile śarīre ||
tatra vātaśvayathuraruṇaḥ kṛṣṇo vā
mṛduranavasthitāstodādayaś cātra vedanāviśeṣāḥ; pittaśvayathuḥ pītaḥ sarakto
vā mṛduḥ śīghrānusāryūṣādayaś cātra vedanāviśeṣāḥ; śleṣmaśvayathuḥ pāṇḍuḥ
śuklo vā snigdhaḥ kaṭhinaḥ śīto mandānusārī, kaṇḍvādayaś cātra
vedanāviśeṣāḥ; sannipātaśvayathuḥ sarvavarṇavedanaḥ; viṣanimittastu
garopayogādduṣṭatoyasevanāt prakuthitodakāvagāhanāt
saviṣasattvadigdhacūrṇāvacūrṇanādvā saviṣamūtrapurīṣaśukraspṛṣṭānāṃ vā
tṛṇakāṣṭhādīnāṃ saṃsparśanāt, sa tu mṛduḥ ksiprotthāno 'valambī calo 'calo
vā dāhapākarāgaprāyaś ca bhavati ||
bhavanti cātra doṣāḥ śvayathumūrdhvaṃ hi
kurvantyāmāśayasthitāḥ |
pakvāśayasthā madhye ca varcaḥsthānagatāstvadhaḥ ||
kṛtsnaṃ dehamanuprāptāḥ kuryuḥ sarvasaraṃ tathā |
śvayathur madhyadeśe yaḥ sa kaṣṭaḥ sarvagaś ca yaḥ ||
ardhāṅge 'riṣṭabhūtaś ca yaś cordhvaṃ parisarpati |
śvāsaḥ pipāsā daurbalyaṃ jvaraś cchardirarocakaḥ ||
hikkātīsārakāsāś ca śūnaṃ saṅkṣapayanti hi |
sāmānyato viśeṣāc ca teṣāṃ vakṣyāmi bheṣajam ||
śophinaḥ sarva eva
parihareyuramlalavaṇadadhiguḍavasāpayastailaghṛtapiṣṭamayagurūṇi ||
tatra vātaśvayathau traivṛtameraṇḍatailaṃ vā
māsamardhamāsaṃ vā pāyayet, nyagrodhādikakaṣāyasiddhaṃ sarpiḥ
pittaśvayathau, āragvadhādisiddhaṃ sarpiḥ śleṣmaśvayathau,
sannipātaśvayathau snuhīkṣīrapātraṃ dvādaśabhir amlapātraiḥ pratisaṃsṛjya
dantīdravantīpratīvāpaṃ sarpiḥ pācayitvā pāyayet, viṣanimitteṣu kalpeṣu
pratīkāraḥ ||
ata ūrdhvaṃ sāmānyacikitsitam upadekṣyāmaḥ
tilvakaghṛtacaturthāni yānyuktānyudareṣu tato 'nyataman upayujyamānaṃ
śvayathumapahanti, mūtravartikriyāṃ vā seveta, navāyasaṃ vā 'haraharmadhunā,
viḍaṅgātiviṣākuṭajaphalabhadradārunāgaramaricacūrṇaṃ vā dharaṇamuṣṇāmbunā,
trikaṭukṣārāyaś cūrṇāni vā triphalākaṣāyeṇa, mūtraṃ vā tulyakṣīraṃ,
harītakīṃ vā tulyaguḍām upayuñjīta, devadāruśuṇṭhīṃ vā, gugguluṃ vā mūtreṇa
varṣabhūkaṣāyānupānaṃ vā, tulyaguḍaṃ vā mūtreṇa varṣabhūkaṣāyānupānaṃ vā,
tulyaguḍaṃ śṛṅgaveraṃ vā, varṣābhūkaṣāyaṃ mūlakalkaṃ vā saśṛṅgaveraṃ payo
'nupānam aharahar māsaṃ, vyoṣavarṣābhūkaṣāyasiddhena vā sarpiṣā mudgolumbān
bhakṣayet, pippalīpippalīmūlacavyacitrakamayūrakavarṣābhūsiddhaṃ vā kṣīraṃ
pibet, sahauṣadhamuraṅgīmūlasiddhaṃ vā, trikaṭukair aṇḍaśyāmāmūlasiddhaṃ vā,
varṣābhūśṛṅgaverasahādevadārusiddhaṃ vā, tathā 'lābubibhītakaphalakalkaṃ vā
taṇḍulāmbunā; kṣīrapippalīmaricaśṛṅgaverānusiddhena ca
mudgayūṣeṇālavaṇenālpasnehena bhojayed yavānnaṃ godhūmānnaṃ vā;
vṛkṣakārkanaktamālanimbavarṣābhūkvāthaiś ca pariṣekaḥ;
sarṣapasuvarcalāsaindhavaśārṅgeṣṭābhiś ca pradehaḥ kāryaḥ; yathādoṣaṃ ca
vamanavirecanāsthāpanāni tīkṣṇānyajasram upaseveta, snehasvedopanāhāṃś ca;
sirābhiś cābhīkṣṇaṃ śoṇitam avasecayed anyatropadravaśophād iti ||
bhavati cātra piṣṭānnam amlaṃ lavaṇāni madyaṃ mṛdaṃ
divāsvapnam ajāṅgalaṃ ca |
striyo ghṛtaṃ tailapayogurūṇi śophaṃ jighāṃsuḥ parivarjayet tu ||
iti suśrutasaṃhitāyāṃ cikitsāsthāne sothacikitsitaṃ nāma
trayoviṃśo 'dhyāyaḥ ||23 ||

utthāyotthāya satataṃ svasthenārogyam icchatā |

tatrādau dantapavanaṃ dvādaśāṅgulamāyatam |
kaniṣṭhikāparīṇāham ṛjvagranthitam avraṇam ||
ayugmagranthi yac cāpi pratyagraṃ śastabhūmijam |
avekṣyartuṃ ca doṣaṃ ca rasaṃ vīryaṃ ca yojayet ||
kaṣāyaṃ madhuraṃ tiktaṃ kaṭukaṃ prātar utthitaḥ |
nimbaś ca tiktake śreṣṭhaḥ kaṣāye khadiras tathā ||
madhūko madhure śreṣṭhaḥ karañjaḥ kaṭuke tathā |
kṣaudravyoṣatrivargāktaṃ satailaṃ saindhavena ca ||
cūrṇena tejovatyāś ca dantān nityaṃ viśodhayet |
ekaikaṃ ghrṣayed dantaṃ mṛdunā kūrcakena ca ||
dantaśodhanacūrṇena dantamāṃsāny abādhayan |
tad daurgandhyopadehau tu śleṣmāṇaṃ cāpakarṣati ||
vaiśadyam annābhir uciṃ saumanasyaṃ karoti ca |
na khāded galatālv oṣṭhajihvārogasamudbhave ||
athāsyapāke śvāse ca kāsahikkāvamīṣu ca |
durbalo 'jīrṇabhaktaś ca mūrcchārto madapīṣitaḥ ||
śirorujārtastṛṣitaḥ śrāntaḥ pānaklamānvitaḥ |
arditī karṇaśūlī ca dantarogī ca mānavaḥ ||
jihvānirlekhanaṃ raupyaṃ sauvarṇaṃ vārkṣam eva ca |
tan malāpaharaṃ śastaṃ mṛdu ślakṣṇaṃ daśāṅgulam ||
mukhavair asya daurgandhyaśophajāḍyaharaṃ sukham |
dantadārḍhyakaraṃ rucyaṃ snehagaṇḍūṣadhāraṇam ||
kṣīravṛkṣakaṣāyair vā kṣīreṇa ca vimiśritaiḥ |
bhilloṭakakaṣāyeṇa tathaivāmalakasya vā ||
prakṣālayen mukhaṃ nentre svasthaḥ śītodakena vā |
nīlikāṃ mukhaśoṣaṃ ca piḍakāṃ vyaṅgam eva ca ||
raktapittakṛtān rogān sadya eva vināśayet |
sukhaṃ laghu nirīkṣeta dṛḍhaṃ paśyati cakṣuṣā ||
mataṃ srotoñjanaṃ śreṣṭhaṃ viśuddhaṃ sindhusaṃbhavam |
dāhakaṇḍūmalaghnaṃ ca dṛṣṭikledarujāpaham ||
tejorūpāvahaṃ caiva sahate mārutātapau |
na netrarogā jāyante tasmād añjanam ācaret ||
bhuktavāñ chirasā snātaḥ śrāntaś chardanavāhanaiḥ |
rātrau jāgaritaś cāpi nāñjyājjvarita eva ca ||
karpūrajātīkakkolalavaṅgakaṭukāhvayaiḥ |
sacūrṇapūgaiḥ sahitaṃ patraṃ tāmbulajaṃ śubham ||
mukhavaiśadyasaugandhyakāntisauṣṭhavakārakam |
hanudantasvaramalajihvendriyaviśodhanam ||
prasekaśamanaṃ hṛdyaṃ galāmayavināśanam |
pathyaṃ suptotthite bhukte snāte vānte ca mānave ||
raktapittakṣatakṣīṇatṛṣṇāmūrcchāparītinām |
rūkṣadurbalamartyānāṃ na hitaṃ cāsyaśoṣiṇām ||
śirogatāṃs tathā rogāñ chirobhaṅgo 'pakarṣati |
keśānāṃ mārdavaṃ dairghyaṃ bahutvaṃ snigdhakṛṣṇatām ||
karoti śirasastṛptiṃ sutvakkam api cānanam |
santarpaṇaṃ cendriyāṇāṃ śirasaḥ pratipūraṇam ||
madhukaṃ kṣīraśuklā ca saralaṃ devadāru ca |
kṣudrakaṃ pañcanāmānaṃ samabhāgāni saṃharet ||
teṣāṃ kalkakaṣāyābhyāṃ cakrateilaṃ vipācayet |
sadaiva śītalaṃ jantor mūrdhni tailaṃ pradāpayet ||
keśaprasādhanī keśyā rajojantumalāpahā |
hanumanyāśiraḥkarṇaśūlaghnaṃ karṇapūraṇam ||
abhyaṅgo mārdavakaraḥ kaphavātanirodhanaḥ |
dhātūnāṃ puṣṭijanano mṛjāvarṇabalapradaḥ ||
sekaḥ śramaghno 'nilahṛdbhagnasandhiprasādhakaḥ |
kṣatāgnidagdhābhihatavighṛṣṭānāṃ rujāpahaḥ ||
jalasiktasya vardhante yathā mūle 'ṅkurāstaroḥ |
tathā dhātuvivṛddhirhi snehasiktasya jāyate ||
sirāmukhai romakūpair dhamanībhiś ca tarpayam |
śarīrabalam ādhatte yuktaḥ sneho 'vagāhane ||
tatra prakṛtisātmyartudeśadoṣavikāravit |
tailaṃ ghṛtaṃ vā matimān yuñjyād abhyaṅgasekayoḥ ||
kevalaṃ sāmadoṣeṣu na kathañ cana yojayet |
taruṇajvaryajīrṇī ca nābhyaktavyau kathañ cana ||
tathā virikto vāntaś ca nirūḍho yaś ca mānavaḥ |
pūrvayoḥ kṛcchratā vyādher asādhyatvam athāpi vā ||
śeṣāṇāṃ tadahaḥ proktā agnimāndyādayo gadāḥ |
santarpaṇasamutthānāṃ rogāṇāṃ naiva kārayet ||
śarīrāyāsajananaṃ karma vyāyāmasaṃjñitam |
tat kṛtvā tu sukhaṃ dehaṃ vimṛdgīyāt samantataḥ ||
śarīropacayaḥ kāntir gātrāṇāṃ suvibhaktatā |
dīptāgnitvam anālasyaṃ sthiratvaṃ lāghavaṃ mṛjā ||
śramaklamapipāsoṣṇaśītādīnāṃ sahiṣṇutā |
ārogyaṃ cāpi paramaṃ vyāyāmād upajāyate ||
na cāsti sadṛśaṃ tena kiñcit sthaulyāpakarṣaṇam |
na ca vyāyāminaṃ martyamardayanty arayo balāt ||
na cainaṃ sahasā ''ākramya jarā samadhi rohati |
sthirībhavati māṃsaṃ ca vyāyāmābhir atasya ca ||
vyāyāmasvinnagātrasya padbhyām udvartitasya ca |
vyādhayo nopasarpanti siṃhaṃ kṣudramṛgā eva ||
vayor ūpaguṇair hīnam api kuryāt sudarśanam |
vyāyāmaṃ kurvato nityaṃ viruddham api bhojanam ||
vidagdham avidagdhaṃ vā nirdoṣaṃ paripacyate |
vyāyāmo hi sadā pathyo balināṃ snigdhabhojinām ||
sa ca śīte vasante ca teṣāṃ pathyatamaḥ smṛtaḥ |
sarveṣv ṛtuṣv aharahaḥ pumbhir ātmahitaiṣibhiḥ ||
balasyārdhena kartavyo vyāyāmo hantyato 'nyathā |
hṛdi sthānasthito vāyur yadā vaktraṃ prapadyate ||
vyāyāmaṃ kurvato jantos tad balārdhasya lakṣaṇam |
vayobalaśarīrāṇi deśakālāśanāni ca ||
samīkṣya kuryād vyāyāmam anyathā rogam āpnuyāt |
kṣayatṛṣṇārucicchardiraktapittabhramaklamāḥ ||
kāsaśoṣajvaraśvāsā ativyāyāmasaṃbhavāḥ |
raktapittī kṛśaḥ śoṣī śvāsakāsakṣatāturaḥ ||
bhuktavān strīṣu ca kṣīṇastṛḍbhramārtaś ca varjayet |
udvartanaṃ vātaharaṃ kaphamedovilāpanam ||
sthirīkaraṇam aṅgānāṃ tvakprasthādakaraṃ param |
sirāmukhaviviktatvaṃ tvaksthasyāgneś ca tejanam ||
udgharṣaṇotsādanābhyāṃ jāyeyāt āmasaṃśayam |
utsādanād bhavet strīṇāṃ viśeṣāt kāntimad vapuḥ ||
praharṣasaubhāgyamṛjālāghavādiguṇānvitam |
udgharṣaṇaṃ tu vijñeyaṃ kaṇḍūkoṣṭhānilāpaham ||
ūrvoḥ saṃjanayaty āśu phenakaḥ sthair yalāghave |
kaṇḍūkoṭhānilastambhamalarogāpahaś ca saḥ ||
tejanaṃ tvaggatasyāgneḥ sirāmukhavivecanam |
udgharṣaṇaṃ tviṣṭikayā kaṇḍūkoṭhavināśanam ||
nidrādāhaśramaharaṃ svedakaṇḍūtṛṣāpaham |
hṛdyaṃ malaharaṃ śreṣṭhaṃ sarvendriyavibodhanam samācaret ||
tandrāpāpmopaśamanaṃ tuṣṭidaṃ puṃstvavardhanam|
raktaprasādanaṃ cāpi snānam agneś ca dīpanam||
uṣṇena śirasaḥ snānam ahitaṃ cakṣuṣaḥ sadā| śītena
śirasaḥ snānaṃ cakṣuṣyam iti nirdiśet||
śleṣmamārutakope tu jñātvā vyādhibalābalam| kāmamuṣṇaṃ
śiraḥsnānaṃ bhaiṣajyārthaṃ samācaret||
atiśītāmbu śīte ca śleṣmamārutakopanam |
atyuṣṇam uṣṇakāle ca pittaśoṇitakopanam ||
tac cātisārajvaritakarṇaśūlānilārtiṣu |
ādhmānārocakājīrṇabhuktavatsu ca garhitam ||
saubhāgyadaṃ varṇakaraṃ prītyojobalavardhanam |
svedadaurgandhyavaivarṇyaśramaghnam anulepanam ||
snānaṃ yeṣāṃ niṣiddhaṃ tu teṣām apy anulepanam |
rakṣoghnam atha caujasyaṃ saubhāgyakaram uttamam ||
sumanombararatnānāṃ dhāraṇaṃ prītivardhanam |
mukhālepāddṛḍhaṃ cakṣuḥ pīnagaṇḍaṃ tathā ''ānanam ||
avyaṅgapiḍakaṃ kāntaṃ bhavaty ambujasannibham |
paksmalaṃ viśadaṃ kāntam amalojjvalamaṇḍalam ||
netram añjanasaṃyogād bhavec cāmalatārakam |
yaśasyaṃ svargyam āyuṣyaṃ dhanadhānyavivardhanam ||
devatātithiviprāṇāṃ pūjanaṃ gotravardhanam |
āhāraḥ prīṇanaḥ sadyo balakṛddehadhārakaḥ ||
āyustejaḥsamutsāhasmṛtyojognivivardhanaḥ |
pādaprakṣālanaṃ pādamalarogaśramāpaham ||
cakṣuḥprasādanaṃ vṛṣyaṃ rakṣoghnaṃ prītivardhanam |
nidrākaro dehasukhaś cakṣuṣyaḥ śramasuptinut ||
pādatvaṅmṛdukārī ca pādābhyaṅgaḥ sadā hitaḥ |
pādarogaharaṃ vṛṣyaṃ rakṣoghnaṃ prītivardhanam ||
sukhapracāram ojasyaṃ sadā pādatradhāraṇam |
anārogyam anāyuṣyaṃ cakṣuṣor upaghātakṛt ||
pādābhyām anupānadbhyāṃ sadā caṅkramaṇaṃ nṛṇām |
pāpmopaśamanaṃ keśanakharomāpamārjanam ||
harṣalāghavasaubhāgyakaram utsāhavardhanam |
bāṇavāraṃ mṛjāvarṇatejobalavivardhanam ||
pavitraṃ keśyam uṣṇīṣaṃ vātātaparajopaham |
varṣānilarajogharmahimādīnāṃ nivāraṇam ||
varṇyaṃ cakṣuṣyam aujasyaṃ śaṅkaraṃ chatradhāraṇam |
śunaḥ sarīsṛpavyālaviṣāṇibhyo bhayāpaham ||
śramaskhalanadoṣaghnaṃ sthavire ca praśasyate |
sattvotsāhabalasthair ya dhairyavīryavivardhanam ||
avaṣṭambhakaraṃ cāpi bhayaghnaṃ daṇḍadhāraṇam |
āsyā varṇakaphasthaulyasaukumāryakarī sukhā ||
adhvā varṇakaphasthaulyasaukumāryavināśanaḥ |
atyadhvā viparīto+āsmājjarādaurbalyakṛc ca saḥ ||
yat tu caṅkramaṇaṃ nātidehapīḍākaraṃ bhavet |
tad āyurbalamedhāgnipradamindriyabodhanam ||
śramānilaharaṃ vṛṣyaṃ puṣṭinidrādhṛtipradam |
sukhaṃ śayyāsanaṃ duḥkhaṃ viparītaguṇaṃ matam ||
bālavyajanamaujasyaṃ makṣikādīn apohati |
śoṣadāhaśramasvedamūrcchāghno vyajanānilaḥ ||
prītinidrākaraṃ vṛṣyaṃ kaphavātaśramāpaham |
saṃvāhanaṃ māṃsaraktatvakprasādakaraṃ sukham ||
pravātaṃ raukṣyavaivarṇyastambhakṛddāhapaktinut |
svedamūrcchāpipāsāghnamapravātamato 'nyathā ||
sukhaṃ vātaṃ praseveta grīṣme śaradi mānavaḥ |
nivātaṃ hy āyuṣe sevyam ārogyāya ca sarvadā ||
ātapaḥ pittatṛṣṇāgnisvedamūrcchābhramāsrakṛt |
dāhavaivarṇyakārī ca chāyā caitānapohati ||
agnirvātakaphastambhaśītavepathunāśanaḥ |
āmābhiṣyandajaraśo raktapittapradūṣaṇaḥ ||
puṣṭivarṇabalotsāhamagnidīptimatandritām |
karoti dhātusāmyaṃ ca nidrā kāle niṣevitā ||
tatrādita eva nīcanakharomṇā śucinā śuklavāsasā
laghūṣṇīṣacchatropānatkena daṇḍapāṇinā kāle hitamitamadhurapūrvābhibhāṣiṇā
bandhubhūtena bhūtānāṃ guruvṛddhānumatena susahāyenānanyamanasā
khalūpacaritavyaṃ, tad api na rātrau, na
keśāsthikaṇṭakāśmatuṣabhasmotkarakapālāṅgārāmedhyasnānabalibhūmiṣu, na
viṣamendrakīlacatuṣpathaśvabhrāṇām upariṣṭāt ||
na rājadviṣṭaparuṣapaiśunyānṛtāni vadet, na
devabrāhmaṇapitṛparivādāṃś ca; na narendradviṣṭonmattapatitakṣudranīcān
upāsīta ||
vṛkṣaparvataprapātaviṣamavalmīkaduṣṭavājikuñjarādyadhirohaṇāni pariharet,
pūrṇanadīsamudrāviditapalvalaśvabhrakūpāvataraṇāni,
bhinnaśūnyāgāraśmaśānavijanāraṇyavāsāgnisaṃbhramavyālabhujaṅgakīṭasevāś ca,
grāmāghātakalahaśastrasannipātavyālasarīsṛpaśṛṅgisannikarṣāṃś ca ||
nāgnigogurubrāhmaṇapreṅkhādampatyantareṇa yāyāt | na
śavam anuyāyāt | devagobrāhmaṇacaity adhvajarogipatitapāpakāriṇāṃ ca chāyāṃ
nākrameta | nāstaṃ gacchantam udyantaṃ vā ''ādity aṃ vīkṣeta | gāṃ
dhāpayantīṃ dhayantīṃ paraśasyaṃ vā carantīṃ na kasmaicid ācakṣīta, na
colkāpātotpātendradhanūṃṣi | nāgniṃ mukhenopadhamet | nāpo bhūmiṃ vā
pāṇipādenābhihanyāt ||
na vegān dhārayed vātamūtrapurīṣādīnām | na bahirvegān
grāmanagaradevatāyatanaśmaśānacatuṣpathasalilāśayapathisannikṛṣṭāv utsṛjen
na prakāśaṃ na vāyvagnisalilasomārkagogurupratimukham ||
na bhūmiṃ vilikhet, nāsaṃvṛtamukhaḥ sadasi
jṛmbhodagārakāsaśvāsakṣavathūnutsṛjet, na paryaṅkikāvaṣṭambhapādaprasāraṇāni
gurusannidhau kuryāt ||
na bālakarṇanāsāsrotodaśanākṣivivarāṇyabhikuṣṇīyāt, na
vījayet keśamukhanakhavastragātrāṇi, na gātranakhavaktravāditraṃ kuryāt , na
kāṣṭhaloṣṭatṛṇādīn abhihanyāc chindyād bhindyād vā ||
na prativātātapaṃ seveta, na bhuktamātro 'gnimupāsīta,
notkaṭakālpakāṣṭhāsanamadhyāsīta, na grīvāṃ viṣamaṃ dhārayet, na viṣamakāyaḥ
kriyāṃ bhajeta bhuñjīta vā, na pratatam īkṣeta
viśeṣājjyotirbhāskarasūkṣmacalabhrāntāni, na bhāraṃ śirasā vahet, na
svapnajāgaraṇaśayanāsanasthānacaṅkramaṇayānavāhanapradhāvanalaṅghanaplavanaprataraṇahāsyabhāṣyavyavāyavyāyāmādīnucitān
apy atiseveta ||
ucitād apy ahitāt kramaśo viramet, hitam anucitam apy
aseveta kramaśaḥ, na caikāntataḥ pādahīnāt ||
nāvākśirāḥ śayīta, na bhinnapātre bhuñjīta, na vinā
pātreṇa, nāñjalipuṭenāpaḥ pibet, kāle hitamitasnigdhamadhuraprāyamāhāraṃ
vaidyapratyavekṣitam aśnīyāt,
grāmagaṇagaṇikāpaṇikaśatrusatraśaṭhapatitabhojanāni parikaret, śeṣāṇy api
cāniṣṭarūparasagandhasparśaśabdamānasāni, anyāny evaṃ guṇāny api
saṃbhramadattāni, (tānyapi) makṣikābālopahatāni, nāprakṣālitapādo bhuñjīta
na mūtroccārapīḍito na sandhyayor nānupāśrito nātītakālaṃ hīnam atimātraṃ
(noddhṛtasnehaṃ) ceti ||
na bhuñjītoddhṛtasnehaṃ naṣṭaṃ paryuṣitaṃ payaḥ | na
naktaṃ dadhi bhuñjīta na cāpy aghṛtaśarkaram ||
nāmudgayūṣaṃ nākṣaudraṃ noṣṇaṃ nāmalakair vinā |
anyathā janayet kuṣṭhavisarpādīn gadān bahūn | nātmānamudake paśyen na
nagnaḥ praviśejjalam ||
dyūtamadyātisevāpratibhutvasākṣitvasamāhvānagoṣṭhīvāditrāṇi na seveta,
srajaṃ chatropānakau kanakam atītavāsāṃsi na cānyair dhṛtāni dhārayet,
brāhmaṇam agniṃ gāṃ ca nocchiṣṭaḥ spṛśet ||
bhavanti cātra yasmin yasminn ṛtau ye ye doṣāḥ kupyanti
dehinām |
teṣu teṣu pradātavyā rasāste te vijānatā ||
varṣāsu na pibet toyaṃ pibec charadi mātrayā |
varṣasu caturo māsān mātrāvad udakaṃ pibet ||
uṣṇaṃ haime vasante ca kāmaṃ śrīṣme tu śītalam |
hemante ca vasante ca sīdhvariṣṭau piben naraḥ ||
śṛtaśītaṃ payo grīṣme prāvṛṭkāle rasaṃ pibet |
yūṣaṃ varṣati, tasyānte prapicchītalaṃ jalam ||
svastha evam ato 'nyas tu doṣāhāragatānugaḥ |
snehaṃ saindhavacūrṇena pippalībhiś ca saṃyutam ||
pibed agnivivṛddhyarthaṃ na ca vegān vidhārayet |
agnidīptikaraṃ nṝṇāṃ rogāṇāṃ śamanaṃ prati ||
prāvṛṭśaradvasanteṣu samyak snehādimācaret |
kaphe pracchardanaṃ pitte vireko bastirīrane ||
śasyate triṣv api sadā vyāyāmo doṣanāśanaḥ |
bhuktaṃ viruddham apy annaṃ vyāyāmānna praduṣyati ||
utsargamaithunahāraśodhane syāt tu tanmanāḥ |
necched doṣacayāt prājñaḥ pīḍāṃ vā kāyamānasīm ||
atistrīsaṃprayogāc ca rakṣed ātmānam ātmavān |
śūlakāsajvaraśvāsakārśyapāṇḍvāmayakṣayāḥ ||
ativyavājāj jāyante rogāś cākṣepakādayaḥ |
āyuṣmanto mandajarā vapur varṇabalānvitāḥ ||
sthiropacitamāṃsāś ca bhavanti strīṣu saṃyatāḥ |
tribhis tribhir ahobhir vā samīyāt pramadāṃ naraḥ ||
sarveṣvṛtuṣu, gharmeṣu pakṣāt pakṣād vrajed budhaḥ |
rajasvalām akāmāṃ ca malinām apriyāṃ tathā ||
varṇavṛddhāṃ vayovṛddhāṃ tathā vyādhiprapīḍitām |
hīnāṅgīṃ garbhiṇīṃ dveṣyāṃ yonidoṣasamanvitām ||
sagotrāṃ gurupatnīṃ ca tathā pravrajitām api |
sandhyāparvasvagamyāṃ ca nopeyāt pramadāṃ naraḥ ||
gosarge cārdharātre ca tathā madhyandineṣu ca |
lajjāsamāvahe deśe vivṛte 'śuddha eva ca ||
kṣudhito vyādhitaś caiva kṣubdhacittaś ca mānavaḥ |
vātaviṇmūtravegī ca pipāsaratidurbalaḥ ||
tiryagyonāv ayonau ca prāptaśukravidhāraṇam |
duṣṭayonau visargaṃ tu balavān api varjayet ||
retasaś cātimātraṃ tu mūrdhāvaraṇam eva ca |
sthitāvuttānaśayane viśeṣeṇaiva garhitam ||
krīḍāyām api medhāvī hitārthī parivarjayet |
rajasvalāṃ prāptavato narasyāniyatātmanaḥ ||
dṛṣṭyāyustejasāṃ hānir adharmaś ca tato bhavet |
liṅginīṃ gurupatnīṃ ca sagotrām atha parvasu ||
vṛddhāṃ ca sandhyayoś cāpi gacchato jīvitakṣayaḥ |
garbhiṇyā garbhapīḍā syād vyādhitāyāṃ balakṣayaḥ ||
hīnāṅgīṃ malināṃ dveṣyāṃ kāmaṃ vandhyāmasaṃvṛte |
deśe 'śuddhe ca śukrasya manasaś ca kṣayo bhavet ||
kṣudhitaḥ kṣubdhacittaś ca madhyāhne tṛṣito 'balaḥ |
sthitaś ca hāniṃ śukrasya vāyoḥ kopaṃ ca vindati ||
atiprasaṅgād bhavati śoṣaḥ śukrakṣayāvahaḥ |
vyādhitasya rujā plīhni mṛtyur mūrcchā ca jāyate ||
prayūṣasy ardharātre ca vātapitte prakupyataḥ |
tiryagyonāv ayanau ca duṣṭayonau tathaiva ca ||
upadaṃśas tathā vāyoḥ kopaḥ śukrasya ca kṣayaḥ |
uccārite mūtrite ca retasaś ca vidhāraṇe ||
uttāne ca bhavec chīghraṃ śukrāśmaryās tu saṃbhavaḥ |
sarvaṃ pariharet tasmād etal lokadvaye 'hitam ||
śukraṃ copasthitaṃ mohānna sandhāryaṃ kathaṃcana |
vayor ūpaguṇopetāṃ tulyaśīlāṃ kulānvitām ||
abhikāmo 'bhikāmāṃ tu hṛṣṭo hṛṣṭām alaṅkṛtām |
seveta pramadāṃ yuktyā vājīkaraṇabṛṃhitaḥ ||
bhakṣyāḥ saśarkarāḥ kṣīraṃ sasitaṃ rasa eva ca |
snānaṃ savyajanaṃ svapno vyavāyānte hitāni tu ||
mukhamātraṃ samāsena sadvṛttasyaitad īritam |
ārogyam āyur artho vāg āsadbhiḥ prāpyate nṛbhiḥ ||
iti suśrutasaṃhitāyāṃ cikitsāsthāne 'nāgatābādhacikitsitaṃ nāma
caturviṃśo 'dhyāyaḥ ||24 ||

paripoṭas tathotpāta unmantho duḥkhavardhanaḥ ||
pañcamaḥ parilehī ca karṇapālyāṃ gadāḥ smṛtāḥ |
saukumāryāc cirotsṛṣṭe sahasā 'bhipravardhite ||
karṇaśopho bhavet pālyāṃ sarujaḥ paripoṭavān |
kṛṣṇāruṇanibhaḥ stabdhaḥ sa vātāt paripoṭakaḥ ||
gurvābharaṇasaṃyogāttāḍanād gharṣaṇādapi |
śophaḥ pālyāṃ bhavec chyāvo dāhapākaruganvitaḥ ||
rakto vā raktapittābhyām utpātaḥ sa gado mataḥ |
balādvardhayataḥ karṇaṃ pālyāṃ vāyuḥ prakupyati ||
gṛhītvā sakaphaṃ kuryāc chophaṃ tadvarṇavedanam |
unmanthakaḥ sakaṇḍūko vikāraḥ kaphavātajaḥ ||
vardhamāne yadā karṇe kaṇḍūdāharuganvitaḥ |
śopho bhavati pākaś ca tvakstho 'sau duḥkhavardhanaḥ ||
kaphāsṛkkṛmayaḥ kuryuḥ sarṣapābhā vikāriṇīḥ |
srāviṇīḥ piḍakāḥ pālyāṃ kaṇḍūdāharuganvitāḥ ||
kaphāsṛkkṛmisaṃbhūtaḥ sa visarpannitastataḥ |
lihyāt saśaṣkulīṃ pālīṃ parilehīti sa smṛtaḥ ||
pālyāmayā hy amī ghorā narasyāpratikāriṇaḥ |
mithyāhāravihārasya pāliṃ hiṃsyur upekṣitāḥ ||
tasmād āśu bhiṣak teṣu snehādikramamācaret |
tathā 'bhyaṅgaparīṣekapradehāsṛgvimokṣaṇam ||
sāmānyato viśeṣāc ca vakṣyāmyabhyañjanaṃ prati |
kharamañjariyaṣṭyāhvasaindhavāmaradārubhiḥ ||
supiṣṭaiḥ sāśvagandhaiś ca mūlakāvalgujaiḥ phalaiḥ |
sarpistailavasāmajjamadhūcchiṣṭāni pācayet ||
sakṣīrāṇyatha taiḥ pāliṃ pradihyāt paripoṭake |
mañjiṣṭhātilayaṣṭyāhvasārivotpalapadmakaiḥ ||
sarodhraiḥ sakadambaiś ca balājambvāmrapallavaiḥ |
siddhaṃ dhānyāmlasaṃyuktaṃ tailamutpātanāśanam ||
tālapatryaśvagandhārkabākucīphalasaindhavaiḥ |
tailaṃ kulīragodhābhyāṃ vasayā saha pācitam ||
saralālāṅgalībhyāṃ ca hitamunmanthanāśanam |
tathā 'śmantakajambvāmrapatrakvāthena secanam ||
prapauṇḍarīkamadhukamañjiṣṭhārajanīdvayaiḥ |
cūrṇair udvartanaiḥ pālīṃ tailāktāmavacūṇayet ||
lākṣāviḍaṅgakalkena tailaṃ paktvā 'vacārayet |
svinnāṃ gomayapiṇḍena pradihyāt parilehike ||
piṣṭair viḍaṅgair athavā trivṛcchyāmārkasaṃyutaiḥ |
karañjeṅgudibījair vā kuṭajāragvadhāyutaiḥ ||
sarvair vā sārṣapaṃ tailaṃ siddhaṃ maricasaṃyutam |
sanimbapatrair abhyaṅge madhūcchiṣṭānvitaṃ hitam ||
pālīṣu vyādhiyuktāsu tanvīṣu kaṭhināsu ca |
puṣṭyārthaṃ mārdavārthaṃ ca kuryād abhyañjanaṃ tvidam ||
lopākānūpamajjānaṃ vasāṃ tailaṃ navaṃ ghṛtam |
paceddaśaguṇaṃ kṣīramāvāpya madhuraṃ gaṇam ||
apāmārgāśvagandhe ca tathā lākṣārasaṃ śubham |
tatsiddhaṃ paripūtaṃ ca svanuguptaṃ nidhāpayet ||
tenābhyañjyāt sadā pālīṃ susvinnāmtimarditām |
etena pālyo vardhante nirujo nirupadravāḥ ||
mṛdvyaḥ puṣṭāḥ samāḥ snigdhā jāyante bhūṣaṇakṣamāḥ |
nīlīdalaṃ bhṛṅgarajo 'rjunatvak piṇḍītakaṃ kṛṣṇamayor ajaś ca |
bījodbhavaṃ sāhacaraṃ ca puṣpaṃ pathyākṣadhātrīsahitaṃ vicūrṇya ||
ekīkṛtaṃ sarvam idaṃ pramāya paṅkena tulyaṃ
nalinībhavena |
saṃyojya pakṣaṃ kalaśe nidhāya lauhe vipacedvimiśraṃ rasena
bhṛṅgatriphalābhavena |
āsannapāke ca parīkṣaṇārthaṃ patraṃ balākābhavam ākṣipec ca ||
anena tailaṃ vipaced vimiśraṃ rasena
bhṛṅgatriphalābhavena| āsannapāke ca parīkṣaṇārthaṃ patraṃ
balākābhavamākṣipecca||
bhaved yadā tadbhramarāṅganīlaṃ tadā vipakvaṃ vinidhāya
pātre |
kṛṣṇāyase māsam avasthitaṃ tadabhyaṅgayogāt palitāni hanyāt ||
sairīyajambvarjunakāśmarījaṃ puṣpaṃ tilānmārkavacūtabīje
|
punarnave kardamakaṇṭakāryau kāsīsapiṇḍītakabījasāram ||
phalatrayaṃ loharajo 'ñjanaṃ ca yaṣṭyāhvayaṃ
nīrajasārive ca |
piṣṭvā 'tha sarvaṃ saha modayanty ā sārāmbhasā bījakasaṃbhavena ||
sārāmbhasaḥ saptabhir eva paś cāt prasthaiḥ samāloḍya
daśāhaguptam |
lauhe supātre vinidhāya tailamakṣodbhavaṃ tac ca pacet prayatnāt ||
pakvaṃ ca lauhe 'bhinave nidhāya nasyaṃ vidadhyāt
pariśuddhakāyaḥ |
abhyaṅgayogaiś ca niyujyamānaṃ bhuñjīta māṣān kṛśarāmatho vā ||
māsopariṣṭād ghanakuñjitāgrāḥ keśā bhavanti
bhramarāñjanābhāḥ |
keśās tathā 'nye khalatau bhaveyurjarā na cainaṃ sahasā 'bhyupaiti ||
balaṃ paraṃ saṃbhavatīndiryāṇāṃ bhavec ca vaktraṃ
valibhir vimuktam |
nākāmine 'nārthini nākṛtāya naivāraye tailamidaṃ pradeyam ||
lākṣā rodhraṃ dve haridre śilāle kuṣṭhaṃ nāgaṃ gair ikā
varṇakāś ca |
mañjiṣṭhogrā syāt surāṣṭrodbhavā ca pattaṅgaṃ vai rocanā cāñjanaṃ ca ||
hemāṅgatvak pāṇḍupatraṃ vaṭasya kālīyaṃ syāt padmakaṃ
padmamadhyam |
raktaṃ śvetaṃ candanaṃ pāradaṃ ca kākolyādiḥ kṣīrapiṣṭaś ca vargaḥ ||
medo majjā sikthakaṃ goghṛtaṃ ca dugdhaṃ kvāthaḥ
kṣīriṇāṃ ca drumāṇām |
etat sarvaṃ pakvam aikadhyatas tu vaktrābhyaṅge sarpir uktaṃ pradhānam ||
hanyād vyaṅgaṃ nīlikāṃ cātivṛddhāṃ vaktre jātāḥ
sphoṭikāś cāpi kāś cit |
padmākāraṃ nirvalīkaṃ ca vaktraṃ kuryād etat pīnagaṇḍaṃ manojñam ||
rājñām etad yoṣitāṃ cāpi nityaṃ kuryād vaidyas tat
samānāṃ nṛṇāṃ ca |
kuṣṭhaghnaṃ vai sarpiretat pradhānaṃ yeṣāṃ pāde santi vaipādikāś ca ||
harīkakīcūrṇamariṣṭapatraṃ cūtatvacaṃ dāḍimapuṣpavṛntam
|
patraṃ ca dadyān madayantikāyā lepo 'ṅgarāgo naradevayogyaḥ ||
iti suśrutasaṃhitāyāṃ cikitsāsthāne miśrakacikitsitaṃ nāma

vilāsinām arthavatāṃ rūpayauvanaśālinām |
nṛṇāṃ ca bahubhāryāṇāṃ yogā vājīkarā hitāḥ ||
sevamāno yad aucity ād vājīvāty arthavegavān |
nārīs tarpayate tena vājīkaraṇam ucyate ||
bhojanāni vicitrāṇi pānāni vividhāni ca |
vācaḥ śrotrānugāminyas tvacaḥ sparśasukhās tathā ||
yāminī sendutilakā kāminī navayauvanā |
gītaṃ śrotramanohāri tāmbūlaṃ madirāḥ srajaḥ ||
gandhā manojñā rūpāṇi citrāṇy upavanāni ca |
manasaś cāpratīghāto vājīkurvanti mānavam |
tais tair bhāvair ahṛdyais tu riraṃsor manasi kṣate ||
dveṣyastrīsaṃprayogāc ca klaibyaṃ tan mānasaṃ smṛtam |
kaṭukāmloṣṇalavaṇair atimātropasevitaiḥ ||
saumyadhātukṣayo dṛṣṭaḥ klaibyaṃ tad aparaṃ smṛtam |
ativyavāyaśīlo yo na ca vājīkriyārataḥ ||
dhvajabhaṅgam avāpnoti tacchukrakṣayahetukam |
mahatā meḍhrarogeṇa marmacchedena vā punaḥ ||
klaibyam etac caturthaṃ syān nṝṇāṃ puṃstvopaghātajam |
janmaprabhṛti yaḥ klībaḥ klaibyaṃ tat sahajaṃ smṛtam ||
balinaḥ kṣubdhamanaso nirodhād brahmacaryataḥ |
ṣaṣṭhaṃ klaibyaṃ mataṃ tat tu kharaśukranimittajam ||
asādhyaṃ sahajaṃ klaibyaṃ marmacchedāc ca yad bhavet |
sādhyānām itareṣāṃ tu kāryo hetuviparyayaḥ ||
vidhir vājīkaro yas tu taṃ pravakṣyāmy ataḥ param |
tilamāṣavidārīṇāṃ śālīnāṃ cūrṇam eva vā ||
pauṇḍrakekṣurasairārdraṃ marditaṃ saindhavānvitam |
varāhamedasā yuktāṃ ghṛtenotkārikāṃ pacet ||
tāṃ bhakṣayitvā puruṣo gacchet tu pramadāśatam |
bastāṇḍasiddhe payasi bhāvitān asakṛt tilān ||
śiśumāravasāpakvāḥ śaṣkulyastistailaiḥ kṛtāḥ |
yaḥ svādet sa pumān gacchet strīṇāṃ śatam apūrvavat ||
pippalīlavaṇopete bastāṇḍe kṣīrasarpiṣi |
sādhite bhakṣayed yas tu sa gacchet pramadāśatam ||
pippalīmāṣaśālīnāṃ yavagodhūmayos tathā |
cūrṇabhāgaiḥ samais tais tu ghṛte pūpalikāṃ pacet ||
tāṃ bhakṣayitvā pītvā tu śarkarāmadhuraṃ payaḥ |
naraś caṭakavad gacched daśavārān nirantaram ||
vidāryāḥ sukṛtaṃ cūrṇaṃ svarasenaiva bhāvitam |
sarpirmadhuyutaṃ līḍhvā daśa strīr adhigacchati ||
evam āmalakaṃ cūrṇaṃ svarasenaiva bhāvitam |
śarkarāmadhusarpibhir yuktaṃ līḍhvā payaḥ pibet ||
etenāśītivarṣo 'pi yuveva parihṛṣyati |
pippalīlavaṇopete bastāṇḍe ghṛtasādhite ||
śiśumārasya vā khādet te tu vājīkare bhṛśam |
kulīrakūrmanakrāṇām aṇḍāny evaṃ tu bhakṣayet ||
mahiṣarṣabhabastānāṃ pibec chukrāṇi vā naraḥ |
aśvatthaphalamūlatvakśuṅgāsiddhaṃ payo naraḥ ||
pītvā saśarkarākṣaudraṃ kuliṅga iva hṛṣyati |
vidārimūlakalkaṃ tu śṛtena payasā naraḥ ||
uḍumbarasamaṃ pītvā vṛddho 'pi taruṇāyate |
māṣāṇāṃ palam ekaṃ tu saṃyuktaṃ kṣaudrasarpiṣā ||
avalihya payaḥ pītvā tena vājī bhaven naraḥ |
kṣīrapakvāṃs tu godhūmān ātmaguptāphalaiḥ saha ||
śītān ghṛtayutān khādet tataḥ paś cāt payaḥ pibet |
nakramūṣikamaṇḍūkacaṭakāṇḍakṛtaṃ ghṛtam ||
pādābhyaṅgena kurute balaṃ bhūmiṃ tu na spṛśet |
yāvat spṛśati no bhūmiṃ tāvad gacchen nirantaram ||
svayaṃguptekṣurakayoḥ phalacūrṇaṃ saśarkaram |
dhāroṣṇena naraḥ pītvā payasā na kṣayaṃ vrajet ||
uccaṭācūrṇaṃ peyam evaṃ balārthinā |
svayaṃguptāphalair yuktaṃ māṣasūpaṃ piben naraḥ ||
guptāphalaṃ gokṣurakāc ca bījaṃ tathoccaṭāṃ gopayasā
vipācya |
khajāhataṃ śarkarayā ca yuktaṃ pītvā naro hṛṣyati sarvarātram ||
māṣān vidārīm api soccaṭāṃ ca kṣīre gavāṃ
kṣaudraghṛtopapannām |
pītvā naraḥ śarkarayā suyuktāṃ kuliṅgavad dhṛṣyati sarvarātram ||
gṛṣṭīnāṃ vṛddhavatsānāṃ māṣaparṇabhṛtāṃ gavām |
yat kṣīraṃ tat praśaṃsanti balakāmeṣu jantuṣu ||
kṣīramāṃsagaṇāḥ sarve kākolyādiś ca pūjitaḥ |
vājīkaraṇahetor hi tasmāt tut tu prayojayet ||
ete vājīkarā yogāḥ prītyapatyabalapradāḥ |
sevyā viśuddhopacitadehaiḥ kālādyapekṣayā ||
iti suśrutasaṃhitāyāṃ kṣīṇabalīyavājīkaraṇacikitsitaṃ nāma
ṣaḍviṃśo 'dhyāyaḥ ||26 ||
saptaviṃśatitamo 'dhyāyaḥ |
athātaḥ sarvopaghātaśamanīyaṃ rasāyanaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ ||
yathovāca bhagavān dhanvantariḥ ||
pūrve vayasi madhye vā manuṣyasya rasāyanam |
prayuñjīta bhiṣak prājñaḥ snigdhaśuddhatanoḥ sadā ||
nāviśuddhaśarīrasya yukto rāsāyano vidhiḥ |
na bhāti vāsasi kliṣṭe raṅgayoga ivāhitaḥ ||
śarīrasyopaghātā ye doṣajā mānasās tathā |
upadiṣṭāḥ pradeśeṣu teṣāṃ vakṣyāmi vāraṇam ||
śītodakaṃ payaḥ kṣaudraṃ sarpirity ekaśo dviśaḥ |
triśaḥ samastamathavā prāk pītaṃ sthāpayed vayaḥ ||
tatra viḍaṅgataṇḍulacūrṇamāhṛtya yaṣṭīmadhukamadhuyuktaṃ
yathābalaṃ śītatoyenopayuñjīta śītatoyaṃ cānupibed evam aharahar māsaṃ, tad
eva madhuyuktaṃ bhallātakakvāthena vā, madhudrākṣākvāthayuktaṃ vā,
madhvāmalakarasābhyāṃ vā, guḍūcīkvāthena vā, evam ete pañca prayogā
bhavanti; jīrṇe mudgāmalakayūṣeṇālavaṇenālpasnehena ghṛtavantam odanam
aśnīyāt; ete svalvarśāṃsi kṣapayanti, kṛmīn upaghnanti, grahaṇadhāraṇaśaktiṃ
janayanti, māse māse ca prayoge varṣaśataṃ varṣaśatamāyuṣo 'bhivṛddhir
bhavati ||
viḍaṅgataṇḍulānāṃ droṇaṃ piṣṭapacane piṣṭavadupasvedya
vigatakaṣāyaṃ svinnamavatārya dṛṣadi piṣṭamāyase dṛḍhe kumbhe
madhūdakottaraṃ prāvṛṣi bhasmarāśāvantargṛhe caturo māsānnidadhyāt,
varṣāvigame coddhṛtyopasaṃskṛtaśarīraḥ sahasrasaṃpātābhihutaṃ kṛtvā
prātaḥprātar yathābalam upayuñjīta, jīrṇe mudgāmalakayūṣeṇālavaṇena
ghṛtavantam odanam aśnīyāt, pāṃśuśayyāyāṃ śayīta, tasya māsādūrdhvaṃ
sarvāṅgebhyaḥ kṛmayo niṣkrāmanti, tān aṇutailenābhyaktasya
vaṃśavidalenāpaharet, dvitīye pipīlikāstṛtīye yūkāstathaivāpaharet, caturthe
dantanakharomāṇyavaśīryante; pañcame praśastaguṇalakṣaṇāni jāyante, amānuṣaṃ
cādity aprakāśaṃ vapuradhigacchati, dūrācchravaṇāni darśanā nicāsya
bhavanti, rajastamasī cāpohya sattvam adhitiṣṭhati, śrutanigādyapūrvotpādī
gajabalo 'śvajavaḥ punaryuvā 'ṣṭau varṣaśatānyāyuravāpnoti;
tasyāṇutailamabhyaṅgārthe, candanam upalepanārthe,
bhallātakavidhānavadāhāraḥ parihāraś ca ||
kāśmaryāṇāṃ niṣkulīkṛtānāmeṣa eva kalpaḥ
pāṃśuśayyābhojanavarjaṃ; atra hi payasā śṛtena bhoktavyaṃ, samānamanyat
pūrveṇāśiṣaś ca | śoṇitapittanimitteṣu vikāreṣveteṣām upayogaḥ ||
yathoktamāgāraṃ praviśya balāmūlārdhapalaṃ palaṃ vā
payasā ''āloḍya pibet, jīrṇe payaḥ sarpirodana ity āhāraḥ, evaṃ
dvādaśarātram upayujya dvādaśa varṣāṇi vayastiṣṭhati; evaṃ divasaśatam
upayujya varṣaśataṃ vayastiṣṭhati | evam evātibalānāgabalāvidārīśatāvarīṇām
upayogaḥ | viśeṣatastvatibalāmudakena, nāgabalācūrṇaṃ madhunā, vidārīcūrṇaṃ
kṣīreṇa, śatāvarīmapyevaṃ, pūrveṇānyat samānamāśiṣaś ca samāḥ |
etāstvauṣadhayo balakāmānāṃ śoṣiṇāṃ raktapittopasṛṣṭānāṃ śoṇitaṃ chardayatāṃ
viricyamānānāṃ copadiśyante ||
vārāhīmūlatulācūrṇaṃ kṛtvā tato mātrāṃ madhuyuktāṃ
payasā ''āloḍya pibet, jīrṇe payaḥ sarpirodana ity āhāraḥ, pratibedho 'tra
pūrvavat; prayogamimam upasevamāno varṣaśatamāyuravāpnoti strīṣu cākṣayatām,
etenaiva cūrṇena payo 'vacūrṇya śṛtaśītam abhimathyājyamutpādya madhuyutam
upayuñjīta sāyaṃprātar ekakālaṃ vā, jīrṇe payaḥ sarpirodana ity āhāraḥ, evaṃ
māsam upayujya sauparṇaṃ bhavaty analpabalaḥ strīṣu cākṣayo
varṣaśatāyurbhavatīti ||
cakṣuḥkāmaḥ prāṇakāmo vā bījakasārāgnimanthamūlaṃ
niṣkvāthya māṣaprasthaṃ sādhayet, tasmin sidhyati citrakamūlānām akṣamātraṃ
kalkaṃ dadyād āmalakarasacaturthabhāgaṃ, tataḥ svinnam avatārya
sahasrasṃpātābhihutaṃ kṛtvā śītībhūtaṃ madhusarpirbhyāṃ saṃsṛjyopayuñjīta
yathābalaṃ, yathāsātmyaṃ ca lavaṇaṃ pariharan bhakṣayet| jīrṇe
mudgāmalakayūṣeṇālavaṇena ghṛtavantamodanamaśnīyāt payasā vā māsatrayam;
evamābhyāṃ prayogābhyāṃ cakṣuḥ sauparṇaṃ bhavaty analpabalaḥ strīṣu cākṣayo
varṣaśatāyur bhavatīti||
bhavati cātra payasā saha siddhāni naraḥ śaṇaphalāni yaḥ
|
bhakṣayet payasā sārdhaṃ vayas tasya na śīryate ||
iti suśrutasaṃhitāyāṃ cikitsāsthāne sarvopaghātaśamanīyaṃ
rasāyanacikitsitaṃ nāma saptaviṃśo 'dhyāyaḥ ||27 ||

athāto medhāyuṣkāmīyaṃ rasāyanacikitsitaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ

medhāyuḥkāmaḥ śvetāvalgujaphalānyātapapariśuṣkāṇyādāya
sūkṣmacūrṇāni kṛtvā guḍena sahāloḍya snehakumbhe saptarātraṃ dhānyarāśau
nidadhyāt, saptarātrād uddhṛtya hṛtadoṣasya yathābalaṃ piṇḍaṃ prayacched
anudite sūrye, uṣṇodakaṃ cānupibet; bhallātakavidhānavac cāgārapraveśaḥ,
jīrṇauṣadhaś cāparāhṇe himābhir adbhiḥ pariṣiktagātraḥ śālīnāṃ ṣaṣṭikānāṃ ca
payasā śarkarāmadhureṇaudanam aśnīyāt; evaṃ ṣaṇmāsān upayujya vigatapāpmā
balavarṇopetaḥ śrutanigādī smṛtimān arogo varṣaśatāyur bhavati | kuṣṭhinaṃ
pāṇḍurogiṇam udariṇaṃ vā kṛṣṇāyā gomūtreṇāloḍyārdhapalikaṃ piṇḍaṃ
vigatalauhitye savitari pāyayet, parāhṇe cālavaṇenāmalakayūṣeṇa sarpiṣmantam
odanam aśnīyāt, evaṃ māsam upayujya smṛtimān arogo varṣaśatāyur bhavati |
eṣa evopayogaś citrakamūlānāṃ rajanyāś ca; citrakamūle viśeṣo dvipalikaṃ
piṇḍaṃ paraṃ pramāṇaṃ, śeṣaṃ pūrvavat ||
hṛtadoṣa eva pratisaṃsṛṣṭabhakto yathākramamāgāraṃ
praviśya maṇḍūkaparṇīsvarasam ādāya sahasrasaṃpātābhihutaṃ kṛtvā yathābalaṃ
payasā ''āloḍya pibet payo 'nupānaṃ vā, tasyāṃ jīrṇāyāṃ yavānnaṃ
payasopayuñjīta; tilair vā saha bhakṣayet trīn māsān payo 'nupānaṃ, jīrṇe
payaḥ sarpirodana ity āhāraḥ; evam upayuñjāno brahmavarcasī śrutanigādī
bhavati varṣaśatam āyur avāpnoti | trirātropoṣitaś ca trirātram enāṃ
bhakṣayet, trirātrādūrdhvaṃ payaḥ sarpir iti copayuñjīta | bilvamātraṃ
piṇḍaṃ vā payasā ''āloḍya pibet, evaṃ dvādaśarātram upayujya medhāvī
varṣaśatāyur bhavati ||
hṛtadoṣa evāgāraṃ praviśya pratisaṃsṛṣṭabhakto
brāhmīsvarasamādāya sahasrasaṃpātābhihutaṃ kṛtvā yathābalampayuñjīta,
jīrṇauṣadhaś cāparāhṇe yavāgūmalavaṇaṃ pibet, kṣīrasātmyo vā payasā
bhuñjīta, evaṃ saptarātram upayujya brahmavarcasī medhāvī bhavati, dvitīyaṃ
saptarātram upayujya grantham īpsitam utpādayati naṣṭaṃ cāsya prādur
bhavati, tṛtīyaṃ saptarātram upayujya dviruccāritaṃ śatam apy avadhārayati,
evam ekaviṃśatirātram upayujyālakṣmīr apakrāmati; mūrtimatī cainaṃ vāgdevy
anupraviśati, sarvāś cainaṃ śrutaya upatiṣṭhanti, śrutadharaḥ
pañcavarṣaśatāyur bhavati ||
brāhmīsvarasaprasthadvaye ghṛtaprasthaṃ viḍaṅgataṇḍulānāṃ
kuḍavaṃ dve dve pale vacāmṛtayor dvādaśa harītakyāmalakabibhītakāni
ślakṣṇapiṣṭānyāvāpyaikadhyaṃ sādhayitvā svanuguptaṃ nidadhyāt, tataḥ
pūrvavidhānena mātrāṃ yathābalam upayuñjīta, jīrṇe payaḥ sarpirodana ity
āhāraḥ, pūrvavac cātra parīhāraḥ, etenordhvam adhas tiryak kṛmayo
niṣkrāmanti, alakṣmīr apakrāmati, puṣkaravarṇaḥ sthiravayāḥ śrutanigādī
trivarṣaśatāyur bhavati; etad eva
kuṣṭhaviṣamajvarāpasmāronmādaviṣabhūtagraheṣv anyeṣu ca mahāvyādhiṣu
saṃśodhanam ādiśanti ||

bhojanaṃ, samāḥ pūrveṇāśiṣaś ca ||
vacāśatapākaṃ vā sarpirdroṇam upayujya
pañcavarṣaśatāyurbhavati, galagaṇḍāpacīślīpadasvaramedāṃś cāpahantīti ||
ata ūrdhvaṃ pravakṣyāmi āyuṣkāmarasāyanam |
mantrauṣadhasamāyuktaṃ saṃvatsaraphalapradam ||
bilvasya cūrṇaṃ puṣye tu hutaṃ vārān sahasraśaḥ |
śrīsūktena naraḥ kalye sasuvarṇaṃ dine dine ||
sarpir madhuyutaṃ lihyād alakṣmīnāśanaṃ param |
tvacaṃ vihāya bilvasya mūlakvāthaṃ dine dine ||
prāśnīyāt payasā sārdhaṃ snātvā hutvā samāhitaḥ |
daśasāhasram āyuṣyaṃ smṛtaṃ yuktarathaṃ bhavet ||
hutvā bisānāṃ kvāthaṃ tu madhulājaiś ca saṃyutam |
amoghaṃ śatasāhasraṃ yuktaṃ yuktarathaṃ smṛtam ||
suvarṇaṃ padmabījāni madhu lājāḥ priyaṅgavaḥ |
gavyena payasā pītam alakṣmīṃ pratiṣedhayet ||
nīlotpaladalakvātho gavyena payasā śṛtaḥ |
sasuvarṇastilaiḥ sārdham alakṣmīnāśanaḥ smṛtaḥ ||
gavyaṃ payaḥ suvarṇaṃ ca madhūcchiṣṭaṃ ca mākṣikam |
pītaṃ śatasahasrābhihutaṃ yuktarathaṃ smṛtam ||
vacāghṛtasuvarṇaṃ ca bilvacūrṇam iti trayam |
medhyam āyuṣyam ārogyapuṣṭisaubhāgyavardhanam ||
vāsāmūlatulākvāthe tailam āvāpya sādhitam |
hutvā sahasram aśnīyān medhyam āyuṣyam ucyate ||
yāvakāṃstāvakān khāded abhibhūya yavāṃs tathā |
pippalīmadhusaṃyuktān śikṣā caraṇavad bhavet ||
madhvāmalakacūrṇāni suvarṇam iti ca trayam |
prāśyāriṣṭagṛhīto 'pi mucyate prāṇasaṃśayāt ||
śatāvarīghṛtaṃ samyag upayuktaṃ dine dine |
sakṣaudraṃ sasuvarṇaṃ ca narendraṃ sthāpayed vaśe ||
gocandanā mohanikā madhukaṃ mākṣikaṃ madhu |
suvarṇam iti saṃyogaḥ peyaḥ saubhāgyam icchatā ||
padmanīlotpalakvāthe yaṣṭīmadhukasaṃyute |
sarpir āsāditaṃ gavyaṃ sasuvarṇaṃ sadā pibet ||
payaś cānupibet siddhaṃ teṣām eva samudbhave |
alakṣmīghnaṃ sadā ''āyuṣyaṃ rājyāya subhagāya ca ||
yatra nodīrito mantro yogeṣv eteṣu sādhane |
śabditā tatra sarvatra gāyatrī tripadā bhavet ||
pāpmānaṃ nāśayanty etā dadyuś cauṣadhayaḥ śriyam |
kuryur nāgabalaṃ cāpi manuṣyam amaropamam ||
satatādhyayanaṃ vādaḥ paratantrāvalokanam |
tadvidyā cāryasevā ca buddhimedhākaro guṇaḥ(gaṇaḥ) ||
āyuṣyaṃ bhojanaṃ jīrṇe vegānāṃ cāvidhāraṇam |
brahmacaryam ahiṃsā ca sāhasānāṃ ca varjanam ||
iti suśrutasaṃhitāyāṃ cikitsāsthāne medhāyuṣkāmīyaṃ
rasāyanaṃ nāmāṣṭāviṃśo 'dhyāyaḥ ||28 ||

eka eva khalu bhagavān somaḥ sthānanāmākṛtivīryaviśeṣaiś
caturviṃśatidhābhidyate ||
aṃśumān muñjavāṃś caiva candramā rajataprabhaḥ |
dūrvāsomaḥ kanīyāṃś ca śvetākṣaḥ kanakaprabhaḥ ||
pratānavāṃstālavṛntaḥ karavīro 'ṃśavān api |
svayaṃprabho mahāsomo yaś cāpi garuḍāhṛtaḥ ||
gāyatras traiṣṭubhaḥ pāṅkto jāgataḥ śākvaras tathā |
agniṣṭomo raivataś ca yathokta iti saṃjñitaḥ ||
gāyatryā tripadā yukto yaś coḍupatir ucyate |
ete somāḥ samākhyātā vedoktair nām abhiḥ śubhaiḥ ||
sarveṣām eva caiteṣām eko vidhir upāsane |
sarve tulyaguṇāś caiva vidhānaṃ teṣu vakṣyate ||
ato 'nyatamaṃ somam upayuyukṣuḥ
sarvopakaraṇaparicārakopetaḥ praśaste deśe trivṛtam āgāraṃ kārayitvā
hṛtadoṣaḥ pratisaṃsṛṣṭabhaktaḥ praśasteṣu tithikaraṇamuhūrtanakṣatreṣu
aṃśumantam ādāyādhvarakalpenāhṛtam abhiṣutam abhihutaṃ cāntarāgāre
kṛtamaṅgalasvastivācanaḥ somakandaṃ suvarṇasūcyā vidārya payo gṛhṇīyāt
sauvarṇe (rājate vā) pātre 'ñjalimātraṃ, tataḥ sakṛd evopayuñjīta
nāsvādayan, tata upaspṛśya śeṣam apsv avasādya yamaniyamābhyām ātmānaṃ
saṃyojya vāgyato 'bhyantarataḥ suhṛdbhir upāsyamāno viharet ||
rasāyanaṃ pītavāṃs tu nivāte tanmanāḥ śuciḥ |
āsīta tiṣṭhet krāmec ca na kathaṃcana saṃviśet ||
sāyaṃ vā bhuktavān upaśrutaśāntiḥ kuśaśayyāyāṃ
kṛṣṇājinottarāyāṃ suhṛdbhir upāsyamānaḥ śayīta, tṛṣito vā śītodakamātrāṃ
pibet (aśanāyito vā kṣīraṃ); tataḥ prātar utthāyopaśrutaśāntiḥ kṛtamaṅgalo
gāṃ spṛṣṭvā tatahaivāsīta, tasya jīrṇe some chardir utpadyate, tataḥ
śoṇitāktaṃ kṛmivyāmiśraṃ charditavate sāyaṃ śṛtaśītaṃ kṣīraṃ vitaret; tatas
tṛtīye 'hani kṛmivyāmiśram atisāryate, sa
tenāniṣṭapratigrahabhuktaprabhṛtibhir viśeṣair vinirmuktaḥ śuddhatanur
bhavati, tataḥ sāyaṃ snātāya pūrvavad eva kṣīraṃ vitaret,
kṣaumavastrāstṛtāyāṃ cainaṃ śayyāyāṃ śāyayet; tataś caturthe 'hani tasya
śvayathur utpadyate, tataḥ sarvāṅgebhyaḥ kṛmayo niṣkrāmanti, tadahaś ca
śayyāyāṃ pāṃśubhir avakīryamāṇaḥ śayīta, tataḥ sāyaṃ pūrvavad eva kṣīraṃ
vitaret; evaṃ pañcamaṣaṣṭhayor divasayor varteta, kevalam ubhayakālam asmai
kṣīraṃ vitaret; tataḥ saptame 'hani nirmāṃsas tv agasthibhūtaḥ kevalaṃ
somaparigrahād evocchvasiti, tad ahaś ca kṣīreṇa sukhoṣṇena pariṣicya
tilamadhukacandanānuliptadehaṃ payaḥ pāyayet; tato 'ṣṭame 'hani prātar eva
kṣīrapariṣiktaṃ candanapradigdhāgātraṃ payaḥ pāyayitvā pāṃśuśayyāṃ
samutsṛjya kṣaumavastrāstṛtāyāṃ śayyāyāṃ śāyayet, tato 'sya māṃsam
āpyāyyate, tvak cāvadalati, dantanakharomāṇi cāsya patanti; tasya
navamadivasāt prabhṛty aṇutailābhyaṅgaḥ somavalkakaṣāyapariṣekaḥ; tato
daśame 'hany etad eva vitaret, tato 'sya tvak sthiratām upaiti; evam
ekādaśadvādaśayor varteta; tatas trayodaśāt prabhṛti
somavalkakaṣāyapariṣekaḥ, evam āṣoḍaśād varteta; tataḥ saptadaśāṣṭādaśayor
divasayor daśanā jāyante śikhariṇaḥ snigdhavajravaidūryasphaṭikaprakāśāḥ
samāḥ sthirāḥ sahiṣṇavaḥ, tadā prabhṛti cānavaiḥ śālitaṇḍulaiḥ kṣīrayavāgūm
upaseveta yāvat pañcaviṃśatiriti; tato 'smai dadyāc chālyodanaṃ
mṛdūbhayakālaṃ payasā, tato 'sya nakhā jāyante vidrumendragopakataruṇādity
aprakāśāḥ, sthirāḥ snigdhā lakṣaṇasaṃpannāḥ keśāś ca sūkṣmā jāyante, tvak ca
nīlotpalātasīpuṣpavaidūryaprakāśā; ūrdhvaṃ ca māsāt keśān vāpayet, vāpayitvā
cośīracandanakṛṣṇatilakalkaiḥ śiraḥ pradihyāt payasā vā snāpayet; tato
'syānantaraṃ saptarātrāt keśā jāyante bhramarāñjananibhāḥ kuñcitāḥ sthirāḥ
snigdhāḥ; tatas trirātrāt prathamāvasathaparisarān niṣkramya muhūrtaṃ
sthitvā punar evāntaḥ praviśet, tato 'sya balātailam abhyaṅgārthe 'vacāryaṃ,
yavapiṣṭam udvartanārthe, sukhoṣṇaṃ ca payaḥ pariṣekārthe, ajakarṇakaṣāyam
utsādanārthe, sośīraṃ kūpodakaṃ snānārthe, candanam anulepārthe,
āmalakarasavimiśrāś cāsya yūṣasūpavikalpāḥ, kṣīramadhukasiddhaṃ ca
kṛṣṇatilam avacāraṇārthe, evaṃ daśarātraṃ; tato 'nyad daśarātraṃ dvitīye
parisare varteta; tatas tṛtīye parisare sthirīkurvann ātmānam
anyaddaśarātram āsīta, kiñcid ātapapavanān vā seveta, punaś cāntaḥ praviśet,
na cātmānam ādarśe 'psu vā nirīkṣeta rūpaśālitvāt ; tato 'nyad daśarātraṃ
krodhādīn pariharet, evaṃ sarveṣām upayogavikalpaḥ | viśeṣatas tu
vallīpratānakṣupakādayaḥ somā brāhmaṇakṣatriyavaiśyair bhakṣayitavyāḥ |
teṣāṃ tu pramāṇam ardhacatuṣkamuṣṭayaḥ ||
aṃśumantaṃ sauvarṇe pātre 'bhiṣuṇuyāt, candramasaṃ
rājate; tāv upayujyāṣṭaguṇam aiśvaryam avāpyeśānaṃ devam anupraviśati,
śeṣāṃs tu tāmramaye mṛnmaye vā rohite vā carmaṇi vitate; śūdravarjaṃ tribhir
varṇaiḥ somā upayoktavyāḥ | tataś caturthe māse paurṇamāsyāṃ śucau deśe
brāhmaṇānarcayitvā kṛtamaṅgalo niṣkramya yathoktaṃ vrajed iti ||
oṣadhīnāṃ patiṃ somam upayujya vicakṣaṇaḥ |
daśavarṣasahasrāṇi navāṃ dhārayate tanum ||
nāgnir na toyaṃ na viṣaṃ na śastraṃ nāstram eva ca |
tasyālam āyuḥkṣapaṇe samarthāni bhavanti ||
bhadrāṇāṃ ṣaṣṭivarṣāṇāṃ prasrutānām anekadhā |
kuñjarāṇāṃ sahasrasya balaṃ samadhigacchati ||
kṣīrodaṃ śakrasadanam uttarāṃś ca kurūn api |
yatrecchati sa gantuṃ vā tatrāpratihatā gatiḥ ||
kandarpa iva rūpeṇa kāntyā candra ivāparaḥ |
prahlādayati bhūtānāṃ manāṃsi sa mahādyutiḥ ||
sāṅgopāṅgāṃś ca nikhilān vedān vindati tattvataḥ |
caraty amoghasaṅkalpo devavac cākhilaṃ jagat ||
sarveṣām eva somānāṃ patrāṇi daśa pañca ca |
tāni śukle ca kṛṣṇe ca jāyante nipatanti ca ||
ekaikaṃ jāyate patraṃ somasyāharahas tadā |
śuklasya paurṇamāsyāṃ tu bhavet pañcadaśacchadaḥ ||
śīryate patram ekaikaṃ divase divase punaḥ |
kṛṣṇapakṣakṣaye cāpi latā bhavati kevalā ||
aṃśumān ājyagandhas tu kandavān rajataprabhaḥ |
kadalyākārakandas tu muñjavāṃ llaśunacchadaḥ ||
candramāḥ kanakābhāso jale carati sarvadā |
garuḍāhṛtanāmā ca śvetākṣaś cāpi pāṇḍurau ||
sarpanirmokasadṛśau tau vṛkṣāgrāvalambinau |
tathā 'nye maṇḍalaiś citraiś citritā iva bhānti te ||
sarva eva tu vijñeyāḥ somāḥ pañcadaśacchadāḥ |
kṣīrakandalatāvantaḥ patrair nānāvidhaiḥ smṛtāḥ ||
himavaty arbude sahye mahendre malaye tathā |
śrīparvate devagirau girau devasahe tathā ||
pāriyātre ca vindhye ca devasunde hrade tathā |
uttareṇa vitastāyāḥ pravṛddhā ye mahīdharāḥ ||
haṣṭhavat plavate tatra candramāḥ somasattamaḥ |
tasyoddeśeṣu cāpy anti muñjavān aṃśumān api ||
tasyoddeśeṣu cāpy asti muñjavānaṃśumān api |
kāśmīreṣu saro divyaṃ nāmnā kṣudrakamānasam ||
gāyatras traiṣṭubhaḥ pāṅkto jāgataḥ śākvaras tathā |
atra santy apare cāpi somāḥ somasamaprabhāḥ ||
yaiś cātra mandabhāgyais te bhiṣajaś cāpamānitāḥ |
na tān paśyanty adharmiṣṭhāḥ kṛtaghnāś cāpi mānavāḥ |
bheṣajadveṣiṇaś cāpi brāhmaṇadveṣiṇas tathā ||
iti suśrutasaṃhitāyāṃ cikitsāsthāne
svabhāvavyādhipratiṣedhanīyaṃ rasāyanacikitsitaṃ nāmaikonatriṃśo 'dhyāyaḥ

anātmavānalaso daridraḥ pramādī vyasanīpāpakṛd bheṣajāpamānī ceti| saptabhir
eva kāraṇairna saṃpadyate; tad yathā ajñānādanārambhādasthiracittatvād
dāridvyādanāyattatvād adharmādauṣadhālābhācceti||
athauṣadhīvyākhyāsyāmaḥ tatrājagarī, śvetakāpotī,
kṛṣṇakāpotī, gonasī, vārāhī, kanyā, chatrā, aticchatrā, kareṇuḥ, ajā,
cakrakā, ādity aparṇī, brahmasuvarcalā, śrāvaṇī, mahāśrāvaṇī, golomī,
ajalomī, mahāvegavatī, cetyaṣṭādaśa somasamavīryā mahauṣadhayo vyākhyātāḥ|
tāsāṃ somavat kriyāśīḥstutayaḥ śāstre+abhihitāḥ| tāsāmāgāre+abhihutānāṃ yāḥ
kṣīravatyastāsāṃ kṣīrakuḍavaṃ sakṛdevopayuñjīta, yāstvakṣīrā mūlavatyastāsāṃ
pradeśinīpramāṇāni trīṇi kāṇḍāni pramāṇam upayoge, śvetakāpotī samūlapatrā
bhakṣayitavyā, gonasyajagarīkṛṣṇakāpotīnāṃ sanakhamuṣṭiṃ khaṇḍaśaḥ
kalpayitvā kṣīreṇa vipācya parisrāvyābhighāritamabhihutaṃ ca
sakṛdevopayuñjīta, cakrakāyāḥ payaḥ sakṛdeva, brahmasuvarcalā saptarātram
upayoktavyā bhakṣyakalpena, śeṣāṇāṃ pañca pañca palāni kṣīrāḍhakakvathitāni
prasthe+avaśiṣṭe+avatārya parisrāvya sakṛdevopayuñjīta| somavadāhāravihārau
vyākhyātau, kevalaṃ navanītamabhyaṅgārthe, śeṣaṃ somavadānirgamāditi||
bhavanti cātra yuvānaṃ siṃhavikrāntaṃ kāntaṃ
śrutanigādinam| kuryuretāḥ krameṇaiva dvisahasrāyuṣaṃ naram||
aṅgadī kuṇḍalī maulī divyasrakcandanāmbaraḥ|
caratyamoghasaṅkalpo nabhasyambudadurgame||
vrajanti pakṣiṇo yena jalalambāś ca toyadāḥ| gatiḥ
sauṣadhisiddhasya somasiddhe gatiḥ parā||
atha vakṣyāmi vijñānamauṣadhīnāṃ pṛthak pṛthak| maṇḍalaiḥ
kapilaiścitraiḥ sarpābhā pañcaparṇinī||
pañcāratnipramāṇā ca vijñeyā+ajagarī budhaiḥ| niṣpatrā
kanakābhāsā mūle dvyaṅgulasaṃmitā||
sarpākārā lohitāntā śvetakāpotirucyate| dviparṇinīṃ
mūlabhavāmaruṇāṃ kṛṣṇamaṇḍalām||
dvyaratnimātrāṃ jānīyād gonasīṃ gonasākṛtim| sakṣīrāṃ
romaśāṃ mṛdvīṃ rasenekṣurasopamām||

vetena mahatā++āviṣṭā sarpanirmokasannibhā| eṣā vegavatī
nāma jāyate hy ambudakṣaye||
saptādau sarparūpiṇyo hy auṣadhyo yāḥ prakīrtitāḥ|
tāsāmuddharaṇaṃ kāryaṃ mantreṇānena sarvadā||
mahendrarāmakṛṣṇānāṃ brāhmaṇānāṃ gavāmapi| tapasā tejasā
vā+api praśāmyadhvaṃ śivāya vai||
natreṇānena matimān sarvā evābhimantrayet|
aśraddadhānairalasaiḥ kṛtaghnaiḥ pāpakarmabhiḥ||
naivāsādayituṃ śakyāḥ somāḥ somasamāstathā|
pītāvaśeṣamamṛtaṃ devairbrahmapurogamaiḥ||
nihitaṃ somavīryāsu some cāpy oṣadhīpatau| devasunde
hradavare tathā sindhau mahānade||
dṛśyate ca jalānteṣu medhyā brahmasuvarcalā| ādity
aparṇinī jñeyā tathaiva himasaṃkṣaye||
dṛśyate+ajagarī nityaṃ gonasī cāmbudāgame| kāśmīreṣu
saro divyaṃ nāmnā kṣudrakamānasam||
kareṇus tatra kanyā ca chatrāticchatrake tathā| golomī
cājalomī ca mahatī śrāvaṇī tathā||
vasante kṛṣṇasarpākhyā gonasī ca pradṛśyate| kauśikīṃ
saritaṃ tīrtvā sañjayanty ās tu pūrvataḥ||
kṣitipradeśo valmīkairācito yojanatrayam| vijñeyā tatra
kāpotī śvetā valmīkamūrdhasu||
malaye nalasetau ca vegavatyauṣadhī dhruvā| kārtikyāṃ
paurṇamāsyāṃ ca bhakṣayettāmupoṣitaḥ||
somavaccātra varteta phalaṃ tāvac ca kīrtitam| sarvā
viceyāstvopadhyaḥ somāś cāpy arbude girau||
sa śṛṅgairdevacaritairambudānīkabhedibhiḥ|
vyāptastīrthaiś ca vikhyātaiḥ siddharṣisurasevitaiḥ||
guhābhir bhīmarūpābhiḥ siṃhonnāditakukṣibhiḥ|
vividhairdhātubhiścitraiḥ sarvatraivopaśobhitaḥ||
nadīṣu śaileṣu saraḥsu cāpi puṇyeṣv araṇyeṣu
tathā++āśrameṣu| sarvatra sarvāḥ parimārgitavyāḥ sarvatra bhūmirhi vasūni
dhatte||
iti suśrutasaṃhitāyāṃ cikitsāsthāne nivṛttasaṃtāpīyaṃ rasāyanaṃ nāma
triṃśo 'dhyāyaḥ ||30||

athātaḥ snehopayaugikacikitsitaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ||
yathovāca bhagavān dhanvantariḥ||
snehasāro 'yaṃ puruṣaḥ, prāṇāśca snehabhūyiṣṭāḥ
snehasādhyāś ca bhavanti| sneho hi
pānānuvāsanamastiṣkaśirovastyuttarabastinasyakarṇapūraṇagātrābhyaṅgabhojaneṣūpayojyaḥ||
tatra dviyoniścaturvikalpo 'bhihitaḥ snehaḥ snehaguṇāśca|
tatra jaṅgamebhyo gavyaṃ ghṛtaṃ pradhānaṃ, sthāvarebhyastilatailaṃ
pradhānamiti||
ata ūrdhvaṃ yathāprayojanaṃ yathāpradhānaṃ ca
sthāvarasnehānupadekṣyāmaḥ tatra
tilvakairaṇḍakośāmradantīdravantīsaptalāśaṅkhinīpalāśaviṣāṇikāgavākṣīkampillakaśampākanīlinīsnehā
virecayanti, jīmūtakakuṭajakṛtavedhanekṣvākudhāmārgavamadanasnehā vāmayanti,
viḍaṅgakharamañjarīmadhuśigrusūryavallīpīlusiddhārthakajyotiṣmatīsnehāḥ śiro
virecayanti, karañjapūtīkakṛtamālamātuluṅgeṅgudīkirātatiktakasnehā
duṣṭavraṇeṣūpayujyante, tuvarakakapitthakampillakabhallātakapaṭolasnehā
mahāvyādhiṣu, trapusair vārukakarkārukatumbīkūṣmāṇḍasnehā mūtrasaṅgeṣu,
kapotavaṅkāvalgujaharītakīsnehāḥ śarkarāśmarīṣu,
kusumbhasarṣapātasīpicumardātimuktakabhāṇḍīkaṭutumbīkaṭabhīsnehāḥ prameheṣu,
tālanārikelapanasamocapriyālabilvamadhūkaśleṣmātakāmrātakaphalasnehāḥ
pittasaṃsṛṣṭe vāyau, bibhītakabhallātakapiṇḍītakasnehāḥ kṛṣṇīkaraṇe,
śravaṇakaṅgukaṭuṇṭukasnehāḥ pāṇḍūkaraṇe, saralapītadāruśiṃśapāgurusārasnehā
dadrukuṣṭhakiṭimeṣu, sarva eva snehā vātam upaghnanti, tailaguṇāś ca
samāsena vyākhyātāḥ||
ata ūrdhvaṃ kaṣāyasnehapākakramam upadekṣyāmaḥ| tatra
kecidāhuḥ tvakpatraphalamūlādīnāṃ bhāgastaccaturguṇaṃ jalaṃ
caturbhāgāvaśeṣaṃ niṣkvāthyāpaharedity eṣa kaṣāyapākakalpaḥ; snehaprasṛteṣu
ṣaṭsu caturguṇaṃ dravamāvapya caturaś cākṣasamān bheṣajapiṇḍānity eṣa
snehapākakalpaḥ| etat tu na samyak; kasmāt āgamāsiddhatvāt ||
palakuḍavādīnāmato mānaṃ tu vyākhyāsyāmaḥ tatra dvādaśa
dhānyamāṣā madhyamāḥ suvarṇamāṣakaḥ, te ṣoḍaśa suvarṇam; athavā
madhyamaniṣpāvā ekonaviṃśatirdharaṇaṃ, tāvyardhatṛtīyāni karṣaḥ;
tataścordhvaṃ caturguṇamabhivardhayantaḥ palakuḍavaprasthāḍhakadroṇā ity
abhiniṣpadyante, tulā punaḥ palaśataṃ, tāḥ punarviṃśatirbhāraḥ; śuṣkāṇāmidaṃ
mānam, ārdradravāṇāṃ ca dviguṇamiti||
tatrānyatamaparimāṇasaṃmitānāṃ yathāyogaṃ
tvakpatraphalamūlādīnāmātapapariśoṣitānāṃ chedyāni khaṇḍaśaśchedayitvā
bhedyānyaṇuśo bhedayitvā+avakuṭyāṣṭaguṇena ṣoḍaśaguṇena
vā+ambhasā+abhiṣicyasthālyāṃ caturbhāgāvaśiṣṭaṃ kvāthayitvā+apaharedity eṣa
kaṣāyayākakalpaḥ| snehāccaturbhāgāvaśiṣṭaṃ kvāthayitvā+apaharedity eṣa
kaṣāyapākakalpaḥ| snehāccaturguṇo dravaḥ, snehacaturthaṃśo bheṣajakalkaḥ,
tadaikadhyaṃ saṃṛjya vipacedity eṣa snehapākakalpaḥ| athavā tatrodakadroṇe
tvakpatraphalamūlādīnāṃ tulāmāvāpya caturbhāgāvaśiṣṭaṃ niṣkvāthyāpaharedity
eṣa kaṣāyapākakalpaḥ; snehakuḍave bheṣajapalaṃ piṣṭaṃ kalkaṃ caturguṇaṃ
dravamāvāpya vipacedity eṣa snehapākakalpaḥ||
bhavataś cātra snehabheṣajatoyānāṃ pramāṇaṃ yatra
neritam| tatrāyaṃ vidhirāstheyo nirdiṣṭe tadvadeva tu||
anukte dravakārye tu sarvatra salilaṃ matam|
kalkakvāthāvanirdeśe gaṇāttasmāt prayojayet||
ata ūrdhvaṃ snehapākakramam upadekṣyāmaḥ| sa tu
trividhaḥ; tad yathā mṛduḥ, madhyamaḥ, khara iti| tatra
snehauṣadhivivekamātraṃ yatra bheṣajaṃ sa mṛduriti, madhūcchiṣṭamiva
viśadamavilepi yatra bheṣajaṃ sa madhyamaḥ, kṛṣṇamavasannamīṣadviśadaṃ
cikkaṇaṃ ca yatra bheṣajaṃ sa khara iti; ata ūrdhvaṃ dagdhasneho bhavati,
taṃ punaḥ sādhu sādhayet| tatra pānābhyavahārayor mṛduḥ, nasyābhyaṅgayor
madhyamaḥ, bastikarṇapūraṇayostu khara iti||
bhavataś cātra śabdasyoparame prāpte phenasyopaśame
tathā| gandhavarṇarasādīnāṃ saṃpattau siddhimādiśet||
ghṛtasyaivaṃ vipakvasya jānīyāt kuśalo bhiṣak| pheno
'timātraṃ tailasya śeṣaṃ ghṛtavadādiśet||
ata ūrdhvaṃ snehapānakramam upadekṣyāmaḥ atha khalu
laghukoṣṭhāyāturāya kṛtamaṅgalasvastivācanāyodayagiriśikharasaṃsthite
prataptakanakanikarapītalohite savitari yathābalaṃ tailasya ghṛtasya vā
mātrāṃ pātuṃ prayacchet| pītamātre coṣṇodakenopaspṛśya sopānatko yathāsukhaṃ
viharet||
rūkṣakṣataviṣārtānāṃ vātapittavikāriṇām|
hīnamedhāsmṛtīnāṃ ca sarpiḥpānaṃ praśasyate||
kṛmikoṣṭhānilāviṣṭāḥ pravṛddhakaphamedasaḥ|
pibeyustailasātmyāś ca tailaṃ dārḍhyārthinaś ca ye||
vyāyāmakarśitāḥ śuṣkaretoraktā mahārujaḥ|
mahāgnimārutaprāṇā vasāyogyā narāḥ smṛtāḥ||
krūrāśayāḥ kleśasahā vātārtā dīptavahnayaḥ|
majjānamāpnuyuḥ sarve sarpirvā svauṣadhānvitam||
kevalaṃ paittike sarpirvātike lavaṇānvitam| deyaṃ
bahukaphe cāpi vyoṣakṣārasamāyutam||
doṣāṇāmalpabhūyastvaṃ saṃsargaṃ samavekṣya ca|
yuñjyāttriṣaṣṭidhābhinnaiḥ samāsavyāsato rasaiḥ||
snehasātmyaḥ kleśasahaḥ kāle nātyuṣṇaśītale| accham eva
pibet snehamacchapānaṃ hi pūjitam||
śītakāle divā snehamuṣṇakāle pibenniśi| vātapittādhiko
rātrau vātaśleṣmādhiko divā||
vātapittādhikasyoṣṇe tṛṇamūrcchonmādakārakaḥ| śīte
vātakaphārtasya gauravāruciśūlakṛt||
snehapītasya cettṛṣṇā pibeduṣṇodakaṃ naraḥ| evaṃ
cānupaśāmyantyāṃ snehamuṣṇāmbunā vamet||
dihyācchītaiḥ śiraḥ śītaṃ toyaṃ cāpy avagāhayet|
yā mātrā parijīryeta caturbhāgagate+ahani||
sā mātrā dīpayatyagnimalpadoṣe ca pūjitā| yā mātrā
parijīryeta tathā+ardhadivase gate||
sā vṛṣyā bṛṃhaṇī yā ca madhyadoṣe ca pūjitā| yā mātrā
parijīryeta caturbhāgāvaśeṣite||
snehanīyā ca sā mātrā bahudoṣe ca pūjitā| yā mātrā
parijīryet tu tathā pariṇate+ahani||
glānimūrcchāmadān hitvā sā mātrā pūjitā bhavet|
ahorātrādasaṃduṣṭā yā mātrā parijīryati||
sā tu kuṣṭhavoṣonmādagrahāpasmāranāśinī| yathāgni
prathamāṃ mātrāṃ pāyayeta vicakṣaṇaḥ||
pīto hy atibahuḥ sneho janayet prāṇasaṃśayam|
mithyācārādbahutvād vā yasya sneho na jīryati||
viṣṭabhya cāpi jīryettaṃ vāriṇoṣṇena vāmayet| tataḥ
snehaṃ punardadyāllaghukoṣṭhāya dehine| jīrṇājīrṇaviśaṅkāyāṃ
snehasyoṣṇodakaṃ pibet||
tenodgāro bhavec chuddho bhaktaṃ rucistathā|
syuḥ pacyamāne tṛḍdāhabhramasādāratiklamāḥ||
pariṣicyādbhir uṣṇābhir jīrṇasnehaṃ tato naram| yavāgūṃ
pāyayeccoṣṇāṃ kāmaṃ klinnālpataṇḍulām||
deyau yūṣarasau vā+api sugandhī snehavarjitau| kṛtau
vā+atyalpasarpiṣkau vilepī vā vidhīyate||
pibettryahaṃ caturahaṃ pañcāhaṃ ṣaḍahaṃ tathā|
saptarātrāt paraṃ snehaḥ sātmyībhavati sevitaḥ||
sukumāraṃ kṛśaṃ vṛddhaṃ śiśuṃ snehadviṣaṃ tathā|
tṛṣṇārtamuṣṇakāle ca saha bhaktena pāyayet||
pippalyo lavaṇaṃ snehāścatvāro dadhimastukaḥ|
pītamaikadhyametaddhi sadyaḥsnehanamucyate||
bhṛṣṭā māṃsarase snigdhā yavāgūḥ sūpakalpitā| prakṣudrā
pīyamānā tu sadyaḥsnehanamucyate||
sarpiṣmatī payaḥsiddhā yavāgūḥ svalpataṇḍulā| sasvoṣṇā
sevyamānā tu sadyaḥsnehanamucyate||
pippalyo lavaṇaṃ sarpistilapiṣṭaṃ varāhajā| vasā ca
pītamaikadhyaṃ sadyaḥsnehanamucyate||
śarkarācūrṇasaṃsṛṣṭe dohanasthe ghṛte tu gām| dugdhvā
kṣīraṃ pibedrūkṣaḥ sadyaḥsnehanamucyate||
yavakolakulatthānāṃ kvātho māgadhikānvitaḥ| payo dadhi
surā ceti ghṛtamapyaṣṭamaṃ bhavet||
siddhametairghṛtaṃ pītaṃ sadyaḥsnehanam uttamam| rājñe
rājasamebhyo vā deyametadghṛtottamam||
balahīneṣu vṛddheṣu mṛdvagnistrīhatātmasu| alpadoṣeṣu
yojyāḥ syurye yogāḥ samyagīritāḥ||
vivarjayet snehapānamajīrṇī taruṇajvarī| durbalo 'rocakī
sthūlo mūrcchārto madapīḍitaḥ||
chardyarditaḥ pipāsārtaḥ śrāntaḥ pānaklamānvitaḥ|
dattabastir viriktaś ca vānto yaś cāpi mānavaḥ||
akāle durdine caiva na ca snehaṃ piben naraḥ|
akāle ca prasūtā strī snehapānaṃ vivarjayet||
snehapānād bhavanty eṣāṃ nṝṇāṃ nānāvidhā gadāḥ| gadā vā
kṛcchratāṃ yānti na sidhyanty athavā punaḥ||
garbhāśaye+avaśeṣāḥ syū raktakledamalās tataḥ| snehaṃ
jahyān niṣeveta pācanaṃ rūkṣam eva ca||
daśarātrāt tataḥ snehaṃ yathāvad avacārayet|
purīṣaṃ grathitaṃ rūkṣaṃ kṛcchrād annaṃ vipacyate||
uro vidahate vāyuḥ koṣṭhādupari dhāvati|
durvarṇo durbalaś caiva rūkṣo bhavati mānavaḥ||
susnigdhā tvagviṭśaithilyaṃ dīpto 'gnirmṛdugātratā|
glānirlāghavamaṅgānāmadhastāt snehadarśanam| samyaksnigdhasya liṅgāni
snehodvegas tathaiva ca||
bhaktadveṣo mukhasrāvo gudadāhaḥ pravāhikā|
purīṣātipravṛttiś ca bhṛśasnigdhasya lakṣaṇam||
rūkṣasya snehanaṃ snehairatisnigdhasya rūkṣaṇam|
śyāmākakoradūṣānnatakrapiṇyākaśaktubhiḥ||
dīptāntaragniḥ pariśuddhakoṣṭhaḥ
pratyagradhāturbalavarṇayuktaḥ| dṛḍhendriyo mandajaraḥ śatāyuḥ snehopasevī
puruṣo bhavettu||
sneho hito durbalahnidehasandhukṣaṇe vyādhinipīḍitasya|
balānvitau bhojanadoṣajātaiḥ pramardituṃ tau sahasā na sādhyau||
iti suśrutasaṃhitāyāṃ cikitsāsthāne snehopayaugikacikitsitaṃ
nāmaikatriṃśattamo 'dhyāyaḥ ||31||

athātaḥ svedāvacāraṇīyaṃ cikitsitaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ ||

caturvidhaḥ svedaḥ tad yathā tāpasveda, ūṣmasveda,
upanāhasvedo, dravasveda iti atra sarvasvedavikalpāvarodhaḥ ||
tatra tāpasvedaḥ pāṇikāṃsyakandukakapālavālukāvastraiḥ
prayujyate, śayānasya cāṅgatāpo bahuśaḥ khādirāṅgārair iti ||
ūṣmasvedastu kapālapāṣāśeṣṭakālohapiṇḍānagnivarṇānadbhir
āsiñcedamladravyair vā, tairārdrālaktakapariveṣṭitair aṅgapradeśaṃ svedayet
| māṃsarasapayodadhisnehadhānyāmlavātaharapatrabhaṅgakvāthapūrṇāṃ vā
kumbhīmanutaptāṃ prāvṛtyoṣmāṇaṃ gṛhṇīyāt | pārśvacchidreṇa vā
kumbhenādhomukhena tasyā mukham abhis andhāya tasmiñchidrehastiśuṇḍākārāṃ
nāḍīṃ praṇidhāya taṃ svedayet ||
sukhopaviṣṭaṃ svabhyaktaṃ guruprāvaraṇāvṛtam |
hastiśuṇḍikayā nāḍyā svedayed vātarogiṇam | sukhā sarvāṅgagā hyeṣā na ca
kliśnāti mānavam ||
vyāmārdhamātrā trirvakrā hastihastasamākṛtiḥ |
svedanārthe hitā nāḍī kailiñjī hastiśuṇḍikā ||
puruṣāyāmamātrāṃ ca bhūmimutkīrya khādiraiḥ |
kāṣṭhair dagdhvā tathā 'bhyukṣya kṣīradhānyāmlavāribhiḥ

patrabhaṅgair avacchādya śayānaṃ svedayet tataḥ |
pūrvavat svedayed dagdhvā bhasmāpohyāpi vā śilām ||
pūrvavat kuṭīṃ vā caturdvārāṃ kṛtvā tasyām
upaviṣṭasyāntaś caturdvāre 'ṅgārānupasandhāya taṃ svedayet ||
kośadhānyāni vā samyagupasvedyāstīrya kiliñje 'nyasmin
vā tatpratirūpake śayānaṃ prāvṛtya svedayet; evaṃ
pāṃśugośakṛttuṣabusapalāloṣm abhiḥ svedayet ||
upanāhasvedas tu vātaharamūlakalkair amlapiṣṭair
lavaṇapragāḍhaiḥ susnigdhaiḥ sukhoṣṇaiḥ pradihya svedayet | evaṃ
kākolyādibhir elādibhiḥ surasādibhis tilātasīsarṣapakalkaiḥ
kṛśarāpāyasotkārikābhir veśavāraiḥ sālvaṇair vā tanuvastrāvanaddhaiḥ
svedayet ||
dravasvedas tu vātaharadravyakvāthapūrṇe koṣṇakaṭāhe
droṇyāṃ vā 'vagāhya svedayet, evaṃ
payomāṃsarasayūṣatailadhānyāmlaghṛtavasāmūtreṣv avagāheta; etair eva
sukhoṣṇaiḥ kaṣāyaiś ca pariṣiñcediti ||
tatra tāpoṣmasvedau viśeṣataḥ śleṣmaghnau, upanāhasvedo
vātaghnaḥ, anyatarasmin pittasaṃsṛṣṭe dravasveda iti ||
kaphamedonvite vāyau
nivātātapaguruprāvaraṇaniyuddhādhvavyāyāmabhāraharaṇāmarṣaiḥ svedamutpādayed
iti ||
bhavanti cātra caturvidho yo 'bhihito dvidhā svedaḥ
prayujyate |
sarvasminn eva dehe tu dehasyāvayave tathā ||
yeṣāṃ nasyaṃ vidhātavyaṃ bastiś caiva hi dehinām |
śodhanīyāś ca ye kecit pūrvaṃ svedyās tu te matāḥ ||
paś cāt svedyā hṛte śalye mūḍhagarbhā 'nupadravā |
samyak prajātā kāle yā paś cāt svedyā vijānatā ||
svedyaḥ pūrvaṃ ca paś cācca bhagandaryarśasas tathā |
aśmaryā cāturo jantuḥ śeṣāñchāstre pracakṣmahe ||
nānabhyakte nāpi cāsnigdhadehe svedo yojyaḥ svedavidbhiḥ
kathañcit |
dṛṣṭaṃ loke kāṣṭhamasnigdhamāśu gacchedbhaṅgaṃ svedayogair gṛhītam ||
snehaklinnā dhātusaṃsthāś ca doṣāḥ svasthānasthā ye ca
mārgeṣu līnāḥ |
samyak svedair yojitais te dravatvaṃ prāptāḥ koṣṭhaṃ śodhanair yāntyaśeṣam
||
agnerdīptiṃ mārdavaṃ tvakprasādaṃ bhaktaśraddhāṃ
srotasāṃ nirmalatvam |
kuryāt svedo hanti nidrāṃ satandrāṃ sandhīn stabdhāṃśceṣṭayed āśu yuktaḥ ||
svedāsrāvo vyādhihānirlaghutvaṃ śītārthitvaṃ mārdavaṃ
cāturasya |
samyaksvinne lakṣaṇaṃ prāhuretanmithyāsvinne vyatyayenaitad eva ||
svinne 'tyarthaṃ sandhipīḍā vidāhaḥ sphoṭotpattiḥ
pittaraktaprakopaḥ |
mūrcchā bhrāntirdāhatṛṣṇe klamaś ca kuryāt tūrṇaṃ tatra śītaṃ vidhānam ||
pāṇḍurmehī pittaraktī kṣayārtaḥ kṣāmo 'jīrṇī codarārto
viṣārtaḥ |
tṛḍcchardyārto garbhiṇī pītamadyo naite svedyā yaś ca martyoatisārī |
svedādeṣāṃ yānti dehā vināśaṃ nosādhyatvaṃ yānti caiṣāṃ vikārāḥ ||
svedaiḥ sādhyo durbalo 'jīrṇabhaktaḥ syātāṃ ceddvau svedanīyau tatastau
|
eteṣāṃ svedasādhyā ye vyādhayas teṣu buddhimān |
mṛdūn svedān prayuñjīta tathā hṛnmuṣkadṛṣṭiṣu ||
sarvān svedānnivāte ca jīrṇānnasyāvacārayet |
snehābhyaktaśarīrasya śītairācchādya cakṣuṣī ||
svidyamānasya ca muhurhṛdayaṃ śītalaiḥ spṛśet |
samyaksvinnaṃ vimṛditaṃ snātamuṣṇāmbubhiḥ śanaiḥ ||
svabhyaktaṃ prāvṛtāṅgaṃ ca nivātaśaraṇasthitam |
bhojayed anabhiṣyandi sarvaṃ cācāram ādiśet ||
iti suśrutasaṃhitāyāṃ cikitsāsthāne svedāvacāraṇīyaṃ cikitsitaṃ
nāma dvātriṃśo 'dhyāyaḥ ||32 ||

athāto vamanavirecanasādhyopadravacikitsitaṃ
vyākhyāsyāmaḥ ||
yathovāca bhagavān dhanvantariḥ ||
doṣāḥ kṣīṇā bṛṃhayitavyāḥ, kupitāḥ praśamayitavyāḥ,
vṛddhā nirhartavyāḥ, samāḥ paripālyā iti siddhāntaḥ ||
prādhānyena vamanavirecane vartate nirharaṇe doṣāṇām |
tasmāt tayor vidhānam ucyamānam upadhāraya ||
athāturaṃ snigdhaṃ svinnam abhiṣyandibhir āhārair
anavabaddhadoṣamavalokya śvo vamanaṃ pāyayitā 'smīti saṃbhojayet tīkṣṇāgniṃ
balavantaṃ bahudoṣaṃ mahāvyādhiparītaṃ vamanasātmyaṃ ca ||
bhavati cātra peśalair vividhair annair doṣānutkleśya
dehinaḥ |
snigdhasvinnāya vamanaṃ dattaṃ samyak pravartate ||
athāparedyuḥ pūrvāhṇe sādhāraṇe kāle
vamanadravyakaṣāyakalkacūrṇasnehānām anyatamasya mātrāṃ pāyayitvā vāmayed
yathāyogaṃ koṣṭhaviśeṣamavekṣya; asātmyabībhatsadurgandhadurdarśanāni ca
vamanāni vidadhyāt, ato viparītāni virecanāni; tatra sukumāraṃ kṛśaṃ bālaṃ
vṛddhaṃ bhīruṃ vā vamanasādhyeṣu vikāreṣu
kṣīradadhitakrayavāgūnāmanyatamamākaṇṭhaṃ pāyayet, pītauṣadhaṃ ca pāṇibhir
agnitaptaiḥ pratāpyamānaṃ muhūrtamupekṣeta; tasya ca svedaprādurbhāveṇa
śithilatāmāpannaṃ svebhyaḥ sthānebhyaḥ pracalitaṃ kukṣimanusṛtaṃ jānīyāt,
tataḥ pravṛttahṛllāsaṃ jñātvā jānumātrāsanopaviṣṭamāptair lalāṭe pṛṣṭhe
pārśvayoḥ kaṇṭhe ca pāṇibhiḥ suparigṛhītamaṅgulīgandharvahastotpalanālānām
anyatamena kaṇṭham abhis pṛśantaṃ vāmayet tāvad yāvat samyagvāntaliṅgānīti
||
bhavataś cātra kaphaprasekaṃ hṛdyāviśuddhiṃ kaṇḍūṃ ca
duścharditaliṅgam āhuḥ |
pittātiyogaṃ ca cisaṃjñatāṃ ca hṛtkaṇṭhapīḍām api cātivānte ||
pitte kaphasyānu sukhaṃ pravṛtte śuddheṣu
hṛtkaṇṭhaśiraḥsu cāpi |
laghau ca dehe kaphasaṃsrave ca sthite suvāntaṃ puruṣaṃ vyavasyet ||
samyagvāntaṃ cainam abhis amīkṣya
snehanavirecanaśamanānāṃ dhūmānām anyatamaṃ sāmarthyataḥ pāyayitvā
''ācārikam ādiśet ||
bhavanti cātra tato 'parāhṇe śuciśuddhadehamuṣṇābhir
addbhiḥ pariṣiktagātram |
kulatthamudgāḍhakijāṅgalānāṃ yūṣai rasair vā 'pyupabhojayet tu ||
kāsopalepasvarabhedanidrātandrāsyadaurgandhyaviṣopasargāḥ |
kaphaprasekagrahaṇīpradoṣā na santi jantorvamataḥ kadācit ||
chinne tarau puṣpaphalaprarohā yathā vināśaṃ sahasā
vrajanti |
tathā hṛte śleṣmaṇi śodhanena tajjā vikārāḥ praśamaṃ prayānti ||
na vāmayet taimirikordhvavātagulmodaraplīhakṛmiśramārtān
|
sthūlakṣatakṣīṇakṛśātivṛddhamūtrāturān kevalavātarogān ||
svaropaghātādhyayanaprasaktaduśchardiduḥkoṣṭhatṛḍārtabālām |
ūrdhvāsrapittikṣudhitātirūkṣagarbhiṇyudāvartirūhitāṃś ca ||
avamyavamanādrogāḥ kṛcchratāṃ yānti dehinām |
asādhyatāṃ vā gacchanti naite vāmyāstataḥ smṛtāḥ ||
ete 'pyajīrṇavyathitā vāmyā ye ca viṣāturāḥ |
atīva colbaṇakaphāste ca syur madhukāmbunā ||

viṣaśoṣastanyadoṣamandāgnyunmādāpasmāraślīpadārbudavidārikāmedomehagarajvarārucyapacyāmātīsārahṛdrogacittavibhramavisarpavidradhyajīrṇamukhaprasekahṛllāsaśvāsakāsapīnasapūtīnāsakaṇṭhauṣṭhavaktrapākakarṇasrāvādhijihvopajihvikāgalaśuṇḍikādhaḥśoṇitapittinaḥ
kaphasthānajeṣu vikāreṣv anye ca kaphavyādhiparītā iti ||
virecanam api snigdhasvinnāya vāntāya ca deyam;
avāntasya hi samyagviriktasyāpi sato 'dhaḥ srastaḥ śleṣmā grahaṇīṃ
chādayati, gauravam āpādayati, pravāhikāṃ vā janayati ||
athāturaṃ śvo virecanaṃ pāyayitā 'smīti pūrvāhṇe laghu
bhojayet , phalāmlamuṣṇodakaṃ cainamanupāyayet | athāpare 'hani
vigataśleṣmadhātumāturopakramaṇīyādavekṣyāturamathāsmai auṣadhamātrāṃ pātuṃ
prayacchet ||
tatra mṛduḥ, krūro, madhyama iti trividhaḥ koṣṭho
bhavati | tatra bahupitto mṛduḥ, sa dugdhenāpi viricyate; bahuvātaśleṣmā
krūraḥ, sa durvirecyaḥ; samadoṣo madhyamaḥ, sa sādhāraṇa iti | tatra mṛdau
mātrā mṛdvī, tīkṣṇā krūre, madhye madhyā kartavyeti | pītauṣadhaś ca
tanmanāḥ śayyābhyāśe virecyate ||
virecanaṃ pītavāṃs tu na vegān dhārayed budhaḥ |
nivātaśāyī śītāmbu na spṛśenna pravāhayet ||
yathā ca vamane prasekauṣadhakaphapittānilāḥ krameṇa
gacchanti, evaṃ virecane mūtrapurīṣapittauṣadhakaphā iti ||
bhavanti cātra hṛtkukṣyaśuddhiḥ
paridāhakaṇḍūviṇmūtrasaṅgāś ca na sadvirikte |
mūrcchāgudabhraṃśakaphātiyogāḥ śūlodgamaś cātiviriktaliṅgam ||
gateṣu doṣeṣu kaphānviteṣu nābhyā laghutve manasaś ca
tuṣṭau |
gate 'nile cāpy anulomabhāvaṃ samyagviriktaṃ manujaṃ vyavasyet ||
mandāgnimakṣīṇamasadviriktaṃ na pāyayetāhani tatra peyām
|
kṣīṇaṃ tṛṣārtaṃ suvirecitaṃ ca tanvīṃ sukhoṣṇāṃ laghu pāyayec ca ||
buddheḥ prasādaṃ balamindiryāṇāṃ dhātusthiratvaṃ
balamagnidīptim |
cirāc ca pākaṃ vayasaḥ karoti virecanaṃ samyagupāsyamānam ||
yathaudakānāmudake 'panīte carasthirāṇāṃ bhavati
praṇāśaḥ |
pitte hṛte tvevam upadravāṇāṃ pittātmakānāṃ bhavati praṇāśaḥ ||
mandāgnyatisnehitabālavṛddhasthūlāḥ
kṣatakṣīṇabhayopataptāḥ |
śrāntastṛṣārto 'parijīrṇabhakto garbhiṇyadho gacchati yasya cāsṛk ||
navapraviśyāyamadātyayī ca navajravī yā ca navaprasūtā |
śalyārditāś cāpy avirecanīyāḥ snehādibhir ye tvanupaskṛtāś ca ||
virecanair yānti narā vināśamajñaprayuktair avirecanīyāḥ

durbalasya calān doṣānalpānalpān punaḥ punaḥ |
haret prabhūtānakpāṃs tu śamayet pracyutānapi ||
hareddoṣāṃś calān pakvān balino durbalasya vā |
calā hy upekṣitā doṣāḥ kleśayeyuściraṃ naram ||
mandāgniṃ krūrakoṣṭhaṃ ca sakṣāralavaṇair ghṛtaiḥ |
sandhukṣitāgniṃ snigdhaṃ ca svinnaṃ caiva virecayet ||
snigdhasvinnasya bhaiṣajyair doṣastūtkleśito balāt |
nilīyate na mārgeṣu snigdhe bhāṇḍa ivodakam ||
na cātisnehapītas tu pibet snehavirecanam |
doṣāḥ pracalitāḥ sthānādbhūyaḥ śliṣyanti vartmasu ||
viṣābhighātapiḍakāśophapāṇḍuvisarpiṇaḥ |
nātisnigdhā viśodhyāḥ syus tathā kuṣṭhipramehiṇaḥ ||
virūkṣya snehasātmyaṃ tu bhūyaḥ saṃsnehya śodhayet |
tena doṣā hṛtās tasya bhavanti balavardhanāḥ ||
prāgapītaṃ naraṃ śodhyaṃ pāyayetauṣadhaṃ mṛdu |
tato vijñātakoṣṭhasya kāryaṃ saṃśodhanaṃ punaḥ ||
sukhaṃ dṛṣṭaphalaṃ hṛdyamalpamātraṃ mahāguṇam |
vyāpatsvalpātyayaṃ cāpi pibennṛpatirauṣadham ||
snehasvedāvanabhyasya yas tu saṃśodhanaṃ pibet |
dāru śuṣkamivānāme dehas tasya viśīryate ||
snehasvedapracalitā rasaiḥ snigdhair udīritāḥ |
doṣāḥ koṣṭhagatā jantoḥ sukhā hartuṃ viśodhanaiḥ ||
iti suśrutasaṃhitāyāṃ cikitsāsthāne
vamanavirecanasādhyopadravacikitsitaṃ nāma trayastriṃśo 'dhyāyaḥ ||33 ||
catustriṃśattamo 'dhyāyaḥ |
athāto vamanavirecanavyāpaccikitsitaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ ||
yathovāca bhagavān dhanvantariḥ ||
vaidyāturanimittaṃ vamanaṃ virecanaṃ ca pañcadaśadhā
vyāpadyate | tatra vamanasyādho gatirūrdhvaṃ virecanasyeti pṛthak;
sāmānyamubhayoḥ sāvaśeṣaudhatvaṃ, jīrṇauṣadhatvaṃ, hīnadoṣāpahṛtatvaṃ,
vātaśūlam, ayogo, atiyogo, jīvādānam, ādhmānaṃ, parikartikā, parisrāvaḥ,
pravāhikā, hṛdayopasaraṇaṃ, vibandha, aṅgapragraha iti ||
tatra bubhukṣāpīḍitasyātitīkṣṇāgnermṛdukoṣṭhasya
cāvatiṣṭhamānaṃ durvamasya vā guṇasāmānyabhāvādvamanamadho gacchati,
tatrepsitānavāptirdoṣotkleśaś ca; tamāśu snehayitvā bhūyastīkṣṇatarair
vāmayet ||
apariśuddhāmāśayasyotkliṣṭaśleṣmaṇaḥ saśeṣānnasya vā
'hṛdyamatiprabhūtaṃ vā virecanaṃ pītamūrdhvaṃ gacchati,
tatrepsitānavāptirdoṣokleśaś ca; tatrāśuddhāmāśayamulbaṇaśleṣmāṇamāśu
vāmayitvā bhūyastīkṣṇatarair virecayet, āmānvaye tvāmavat saṃvidhānam,
ahṛdye 'tiprabhūte ca hṛdyaṃ pramāṇayuktaṃ ca; ata ūrdhvamuttiṣṭhatyauṣadhe
na tṛtīyaṃ pāyayet, tatastvenaṃ madhughṛtaphāṇitayuktair lehair virecayet ||
doṣavigrathitamalpamauṣadhamavasthitamūrdhvabhāgikamadhobhāgikaṃ vā na
sraṃsayati doṣān, tatra tṛṣṇā pārśvaśūlaṃ chardirmūrcchā parvabhedo hṛllāso
'ratirudgārāviśuddhiś ca bhavati; tamuṣṇābhir adbhir āśu vāmayed
ūrdhvabhāgike, adhobhāgike 'pi ca
sāvaśeṣauṣadhamatipradhāvitadoṣamatibalamasamyagviriktalakṣaṇamapyevaṃ
vāmayet ||
krūrakoṣṭhasyātitīkṣṇāgneralpamauṣadhamalpaguṇaṃ vā
bhaktavat pākam upaiti, tatra samudīrṇā doṣā yathākālamanirhrīyamāṇā
vyādhivibhramaṃ balavibhraṃśaṃ cāpādayanti, tamanalpamamandamauṣadhaṃ ca
pāyayet ||
asnigdhasvinnenālpaguṇaṃ vā bheṣajam upayuktamalpān doṣān
hanti; tatra vamane doṣaśeṣo gauravamutkleśaṃ hṛdayāviśuddhiṃ vyādhivṛddhiṃ
ca karoti, tatra taṃ yathāyogaṃ pāyayitvā vāmayed dṛḍhataraṃ; virecane tu
gudaparikartanamādhmānaṃ śirogauravamaniḥsaraṇaṃ vā vāyor vyādhivṛddhiṃ ca
karoti; tam upapādya bhūyaḥ snehasvedābhyāṃ virecayed dṛḍhataraṃ, dṛḍhaṃ
bahupracalitadoṣaṃ vā tṛtīye divase 'lpaguṇaṃ ceti ||
asnigdhasvinnena rūkṣauṣadham upayuktamabrahmacāriṇā vā
vāyuṃ kopayati, tatra vāyuḥ prakupitaḥ pārśvapṛṣṭhaśroṇimanyāmarmaśūlaṃ
mūrcchāṃ bhramaṃ madaṃ saṃjñānāśaṃ ca karoti, taṃ vātaśūlamity ācakṣate;
tamabhyajya dhāvyasvedena svedayitvā yaṣṭīmadhukavipakvena tailenānuvāsayet
||
snehasvedābhyām avibhāvitaśarīreṇālpamauṣadhamalpaguṇaṃ
vā pītamūrdhvamadho vā nābhyeti doṣāṃścotkleśya taiḥ saha balakṣayam
āpādayati, tatrādhmānaṃ hṛdayagrahastṛṣṇā mūrcchā dāhaś ca bhavati, tam
ayogamity ācakṣate; tamāśu vāmayenmadanaphalalavaṇāmbubhir virecayet
tīkṣṇataraiḥ kaṣāyaiś ca | durvāntasya tu samutkliṣṭādoṣā vyāpya śarīraṃ
kaṇḍūśvayathukuṣṭhapiḍakājvarāṅgamardanistodanāni kurvanti,
tatastānaśeṣānmadauṣadhenāpaharet | asnigdhasvinnasya durviriktasyādhonābheḥ
stabdhapūrṇodaratā śūlaṃ vātapurīṣasaṅgaḥ kaṇḍūmaṇḍalaprādurbhāvo vā
bhavati, tamāsthāpya punaḥ saṃsrehya virecayet tīkṣṇena | nātipravartamāne
tiṣṭhati vā duṣṭasaṃśodhane tatsantejanārthamuṣṇodakaṃ pāyayet, pāṇitāpaiś
ca pārśvodaram upasvedayet, tataḥ pravartante doṣāḥ | anupravṛtte cālpadoṣe
jīrṇauṣadhaṃ bahudoṣamahaḥśeṣaṃ daśarātrādūrdhvam upasaṃskṛtadehaṃ
snehasvedābhyāṃ bhūyaḥ śodhayet | durvirecyamāsthāpya punaḥ saṃsnehya
virecayet | hrībhayalobhair vegāghātaśīlāḥ prāyaśaḥ striyo rājasamīpasthā
vaṇijaḥ śrotriyāś ca bhavanti, tasmād ete durvirecyāḥ, bahuvātatvāt ; ata
eva tānatisnigdhān svedopapannāñ śodhayet ||
sngidhasvinnasyātimātramatimṛdukoṣṭhasya vā
'titīkṣṇamadhikaṃ vā dattamauṣadhamatiyogaṃ kuryāt | tatra vamanātiyoge
pittātipravṛttirbalavisraṃso vātakopaś ca balavān bhavati, taṃ
ghṛtenābhyajyāvagāhya śītāsvapsu śarkarāmadhumiśrair lehair
upacaredyathāsvaṃ; virecanātiyoge kaphasyātipravṛttiruttarakālaṃ ca
saraktasya, tatrāpi balavisraṃso vātakopaś ca balavān bhavati,
tamatiśītāmbubhiḥ pariṣicyāvagāhya vā śītais taṇḍulāmbubhir
madhumiśraiśchardayet, picchābastiṃ cāsmai dadyāt, kṣīrasarpiṣā
cainamanuvāsayet, priyaṅgvādiṃ cāsmai taṇḍulāmbunā pātuṃ prayacchet,
kṣīrarasayoś cānyatareṇa bhojayet ||
tasiminn eva vamanātiyoge pravṛddhe śoṇitaṃ ṣṭhīvati
chardayati vā, tatra jihvāniḥsaraṇamapasaraṇamakṣṇorvyāvṛttirhanusaṃhananaṃ
tṛṣṇā hikkā jvaro vaisaṃjñyamity aupadravā bhavanti;
tamajāsṛkcandanośīrāñjanalājacūrṇaiḥ saśarkarodakair manthaṃ pāyayet,
phalarasair vā saghṛtakṣaudraśarkaraiḥ śuṅgābhir vā vaṭādīnāṃ peyāṃ siddhāṃ
sakṣaudrāṃ varcogrāhibhir vā, payasā jāṅgalarasena vā bhojayet ,
atisrutaśoṇitavidhānenopacaret; jihvāmatisarpitāṃ
kaṭukalavaṇacūrṇapraghṛṣṭāṃ tiladrākṣāpraliptāṃ vā 'ntaḥ pīḍayet, antaḥ
praviṣṭāyāmamlamanye tasya purastāt khādayeyuḥ; vyāvṛtte cākṣiṇī
ghṛtābhyakte pīḍayet, tṛṣṇādiṣu ca yathāsvaṃ pratikurvīta, visaṃjñe
veṇuvīṇāgītasvanaṃ śrāvayet ||
virecanātiyoge ca sacandrakaṃ salilamadhaḥ sravati tato
māṃsadhāvanaprakāśamuttarakālaṃ jīvaśoṇitaṃ ca, tato gudaniḥsaraṇaṃ
vepathurvamanātiyogopadravāś cāsya bhavanti; tam api
niḥsrutaśoṇitavidhānenopacaret, niḥsarpitagudasya gudamabhyajya
parisvedyāntaḥ pīḍayet kṣudrarogacikitsitaṃ vā vīkṣeta, vepathau
vātavyādhividhānaṃ kurvīta, jihvāniḥsaraṇādiṣūktaḥ pratīkāraḥ, atipravṛtte
vā jīvaśoṇite kāśmarīphalabadarīdūrvośīraiḥ śṛtena payasā
ghṛtamaṇḍāñjanayuktena suśītenāsthāpayet,
nyagrodhādikaṣāyekṣurasaghṛtaśoṇitasaṃsṛṣṭaiś cainaṃ bastibhir upācaret,
śoṇitaṣṭhīvane raktapittaraktātīsārakriyāś cāsya vidhadhyāt, nyagrodhādiṃ
cāsya vidadhyāt pānabhojaneṣu ||
jīvaśoṇitaraktapittayoś ca jijñāsārthaṃ tasmin picuṃ
plotaṃ vā kṣipet, yadyuṣṇodakaprakṣālitam api vastraṃ rañjayati
tajjīvaśoṇitamavagantavyaṃ; sabhaktaṃ ca śune dadyācchaktusaṃmiśraṃ vā, sa
yadyupabhuñjīta tajjīvaśoṇitamavagantavyam; anyathā raktapittam iti ||
saśeṣānnena bahudoṣeṇa
rūkṣeṇānilaprāyakoṣṭhenānuṣṇamasnigdhaṃ vā pītamauṣadhamādhmāpayati,
tatrānilamūtrapurīṣasaṅgaḥ samunnaddhodaratā pārśvabhaṅgo
gudabastinistodanaṃ bhaktāruciś ca bhavati, taṃ cādhmānamity ācakṣate; tam
upasvedyānāhavartidīpanabastikriyābhir upacaret ||
kṣāmeṇātimṛdukoṣṭhena mandāgninā rūkṣeṇa vā
'titīkṣṇoṣṇātilavaṇamatirūkṣaṃ vā pītamauṣadhaṃ pittānilau pradūṣya
parikartikām āpādayati, tatra gudanābhimeḍhrebastiśiraḥsu sadāhaṃ
parikartanam anilasaṅgo vāyuviṣṭambho bhaktāruciś ca bhavati; tatra
picchābastir yaṣṭīmadhukakṛṣṇatilakalkamadhughṛtayuktaḥ, śītāmbupariṣiktaṃ
cainaṃ payasā bhuktavantaṃ ghṛtamaṇḍena yaṣṭīmadhukasiddhena tailena vā
'nuvāsayet ||
krūrakoṣṭhasyātiprabhūtadopasya mṛdvauṣadhamavacāritaṃ
samutkliśya doṣānna niḥśeṣānapaharati, tataste doṣāḥ parisrāvam āpādayanti,
tatra daurbalyodaraviṣṭambhārucigātrasadanāni bhavanti, savedanau cāsya
pittaśleṣmāṇau parisravataḥ, taṃ parisrāvamity ācakṣate;
tamajakarṇadhavatiniśapalāśabalākaṣāyair madhusaṃyuktair āsthāpayet,
upaśāntadoṣaṃ snigdhaṃ ca bhūyaḥ saṃśodhayet ||
atirūkṣe 'tisnigdhe vā bheṣajamavacāritamaprāptaṃ
vātavarca udīrayati vegāghātena vā, tadā pravāhikā bhavati; tatra savātaṃ
sadāhaṃ saśūlaṃ guru picchilaṃ śvetaṃ kṛṣṇaṃ saraktaṃ vā bhṛśaṃ pravāhamāṇaḥ
kapham upaviśati; tāṃ parisrāvavidhānenopacaret ||
yastūrdhvamadho vā bheṣajavegaṃ pravṛttamajñatvād
vinihanti tasyopasaraṇaṃ hṛdi kurvanti doṣāḥ, tatra
pradhānamarmasantāpādvedanābhir atyarthaṃ pīḍyamāno dantān kiṭakiṭāyate
udgatākṣo jihvāṃ svādati pratāmyatyacetāś ca bhavati, taṃ parivarjayanti
mūrkhāḥ; tamabhyajya dhānyasvedena svedayet, yaṣṭimadhukasiddhena ca
tailenānuvāsayet, śirovirecanaṃ cāsmai tīkṣṇaṃ vidadhyāt, tato
yaṣṭimadhukamiśreṇa taṇḍulāmbunā chardayet, yathādoṣocchrāyeṇa cainaṃ
bastibhir upācaret ||
yas tūrdhvam adho vā pravṛttadoṣaḥ śītāgāram udakam
anilam anyad vā seveta, tasya doṣāḥ srotaḥsv avalīyamānā ghānībhāvam āpannā
vātamūtraśakṛdgraham āpādya vibadhyante, tasyāṭopo dāho jvaro vedanāś ca
tīvrā bhavanti; tam āśu vāmayitvā prāptakālāṃ kriyāṃ kurvīta; adhobhāge tv
adhobhāgadoṣaharadravyaṃ saindhavāmlamūtrasaṃsṛṣṭaṃ virecanāya pāyayet,
āsthāpanam anuvāsanaṃ ca yathādoṣaṃ vidadhyāt, yathādoṣam āhārakramaṃ ca;
ubhayato bhāge tūpadravaviśeṣān yathāsvaṃ pratikurvīta ||
yā tu virecane gudaparikartikā tad vamane
kaṇṭhakṣaṇanaṃ, yad adhaḥ parisravaṇaṃ sa ūrdhvabhāge śleṣmaprasekaḥ, yā tv
adhāḥ pravāhikā sā tūrdhvaṃ śuṣkodgārā iti ||

yās tv etā vyāpadaḥ proktā daśa pañca ca tattvataḥ |
etā virekātiyogaduryogāyogajāḥ smṛtāḥ ||
iti suśrutasaṃhitāyāṃ cikitsāsthāne
vamanavirecanavyāpaccikitsitaṃ nāma catustriṃśo 'dhyāyaḥ ||34 ||
pañcatriṃśattamo 'dhyāyaḥ |
athāto netrabastipramāṇapravibhāgacikitsitaṃ
vyākhyāsyāmaḥ ||
yathovāca bhagavān dhanvantariḥ ||
tatra snehādīnāṃ karmaṇāṃ bastikarma
pradhānatamamāhurācāryāḥ | kasmāt anekakarmakaratvād basteḥ; iha khalu
bastir nānāvidhadravyasaṃyogāddoṣāṇāṃ saṃśodhanasaṃśamanasaṃgrahaṇāni
karoti, kṣīṇaśukraṃ vājīkaroti, kṛśaṃ bṛṃhayati, sthūlaṃ karśayati, cakṣuḥ
prīṇayati, valīpalitamapahanti, vayaḥ sthāpayati ||
śarīropacayaṃ varṇaṃ balamārogyamāyuṣaḥ |
kurute parivṛddhiṃ ca bastiḥ samyagupāsitaḥ ||
tathā
jvarātīsāratimirapratiśyāyaśirorogādhimanthārditākṣepakapakṣāghātaikāṅgasarvāṅgarogādhmānodarayoniśūlaśarkarāśūlavṛddhyupadaṃśānāhamūtrakṛcchragulmavātaśoṇitavātamūtrapurīṣodāvartaśukrārtavastanyanāśahṛddhanumanyāgrahaśarkarāśmarīmūḍhagarbhaprabhṛtiṣu
cāsyartham upayujyate ||

bastir vāte ca pitte ca kaphe rakte ca śasyate |
saṃsarge sannipāte ca bastir eva hitaḥ sadā ||
tatra sāṃvatsarikāṣṭadviraṣṭavarṣāṇāṃ
ṣaḍaṣṭadaśāṅgulapramāṇāni kaniṣṭhikānāmikāmadhyamāṅgulipariṇāhānyagre
'dhyardhāṅguladvyaṅgulārdhatṛtīyāṅgulasanniviṣṭakarṇikāni
kaṅkaśyenabarhiṇapakṣanāḍītulyapraveśāni mudgamāṣakalāyamātrasrotāṃsi
vidadhyānnetrāṇi | teṣu cāsthāpanadravyapramāṇamāturahastasaṃmitena
prasṛtena saṃmitau prasṛtau dvau catvāro 'ṣṭau ca vidheyāḥ ||
varṣāntareṣu netrāṇāṃ bastimānasya caiva hi |
vayobalaśarīrāṇi samīkṣyotkarṣayed vidhim ||
pañcaviṃśaterūrdhvaṃ dvādaśāṅgulaṃ, mūle
'ṅguṣṭhodaraparīṇāham, agre kaniṣṭhikodaraparīṇāham, agre
tryaṅgulasanniviṣṭakarṇikaṃ, gṛdhrapakṣanāḍīṃtulyapraveśaṃ,
kolāsthimātrachidraṃ, klinnakalāyamātrachidramity eke; sarvāṇi mūle
bastinibandhanārthaṃ dvikarṇikāni | āsthāpanadravyapraṇāṇaṃ tu vihitaṃ
dvādaśaprasṛtāḥ | saptatestūrdhvaṃ netrapramāṇametadeva, dravyapramāṇaṃ tu
dviraṣṭavarṣavat ||
mṛdurbastiḥ prayoktavyo viśeṣādbālavṛddhayoḥ |
tayostīkṣṇaḥ prayuktas tu bastir hiṃsyād balāyuṣī ||
(vraṇanetramaṣṭāṅgulaṃ mudgavāhisrotaḥ; vraṇamavekṣya
yathāsvaṃ snehakaṣāye vidadhīta ||)
tatra netrāṇi suvarṇarajatatāmrāyor
ītidantaśṛṅgamaṇitarusāramayāni ślakṣṇāni dṛḍhāni gopucchākṛtīnyṛjūni
guṭikāmukhāni ca ||
bastayaś ca bandhyā mṛdavo nātivahalā dṛḍhāḥ
pramāṇavanto gomahiṣavarāhājorabhrāṇām ||
netrālābhe hitā nāḍī nalavaṃśāsthisaṃbhavā |
bastyalābhe hitaṃ carma sūkṣmaṃ vā tāntavaṃ ghanam ||
bastiṃ nirupadigdhaṃ tu śuddhaṃ suparimārjitam |
mṛdvanuddhatahīnaṃ ca muhuḥ snehavimarditam ||
netrāmūle pratiṣṭhāpya nyubjaṃ tu vivṛtānanam |
baddhvā lohena taptena carmasrotasi nirdahet ||
parivartya tato bastiṃ baddhvā guptaṃ nidhāpayet |
āsthāpanaṃ ca tailaṃ ca yathāvattena dāpayet ||
tatra dvividho bastiḥ nairūhikaḥ, snaihikaś ca |
āsthāpanaṃ, nirūha ity anarthāntaraṃ; tasya vikalpo mādhutailikaḥ; tasya
prayāyaśabdo yāpano, yuktarathaḥ, siddhabastir iti | sa
doṣanirharaṇāccharīranīrohaṇādvā nirūhaḥ, bayaḥsthāpanādāyuḥsthāpanādvā
āsthāpanam | mādhutailikavidhānaṃ ca nirūhopakramacikitsite vakṣyāmaḥ |
yathāpramāṇaguṇavihitaḥ snehabastivikalpo 'nuvāsanaḥ pādāva(pādāpa)kṛṣṭaḥ |
anuvasannapi na duṣyatyanudivasaṃ vā dīyata ity anuvāsanaḥ | tasyāpi vikalpo
'rdhārdhamātrāvakṛṣṭo 'parihāryo mātrābastir iti ||
nirūhaḥ śodhano lekhī snaihiko bṛṃhaṇo mataḥ |
nirūhaśodhitānmārgān samyak sneho 'nugacchati |
apetasarvadoṣāsu nāḍīṣv iva vahajjalam ||
sarvadoṣaharaś cāsau śarīrasya ca jīvanaḥ |
tasmād viśuddhadehasya snehabastir vidhīyate ||
tatronmāda bhaya śoka pipāsārocakājīrṇārśaḥ pāṇḍuroga bhrama mada mūrcchā cchardi kuṣṭha mehodarasthaulya śvāsa kāsa kaṇṭhaśoṣa śophopasṛṣṭa kṣata kṣīṇa catustrimāsagarbhiṇīdurbalāgnyasahā
bālavṛddhau ca vātarogādṛte kṣīṇā nānuvāsyā nāsthāpayitavyāḥ ||
udarī ca pramehī ca kuṣṭhī sthūlaś ca mānavaḥ |
avaśyaṃ sthāpanīyāste nānuvāsyāḥ kathañcana ||
asādhyatā vikārāṇāṃ syād eṣāmanuvāsanāt |
asādhyatve 'pi bhūyiṣṭhaṃ gātrāṇāṃ sadanaṃ bhavet ||
pakvāśaye tathā śroṇyāṃ nābhyadhastāc ca sarvataḥ |
samyakpraṇihito bastiḥ sthāneṣveteṣu tiṣṭhati ||
pakvāśayādbastivīryaṃ khair deham anusarpati |
vṛkṣamūle niṣiktānāmapāṃ vīryamiva drumam ||
sa cāpi sahasā bastiḥ kevalaḥ samalo 'pi vā |
pratyeti vīryaṃ tvanilair apānādyair vinīyate ||
vīryeṇa bastirādatte doṣānāpādamastakāt(n) |
pakvāśayastho 'mbarago bhūmerarko rasāniva ||
sa kaṭīpṛṣṭhakoṣṭhasthān vīryeṇāloḍya saṃcayān |
utkhātamūlān harati doṣāṇāṃ sādhuyojitaḥ ||
doṣatrayasya yasmāc ca prakope vāyurīśvaraḥ |
tasmāt tasyātivṛddhasya śarīram abhinighnataḥ ||
vāyor viṣahate vegaṃ nānyā basterṛte kriyā |
pavanāviddhatoyasya velā vegamivodadheḥ ||
śarīropacayaṃ varṇaṃ balamārogyamāyuṣaḥ |
kurute parivṛddhiṃ ca bastiḥ samyagupāsitaḥ ||
ata ūrdhvaṃ vyāpado vakṣyāmaḥ | tatra netraṃ vicalitaṃ,
vivartitaṃ, pārśvāvapīḍitam, atyutkṣiptam, avasannaṃ, tiryakprakṣiptam iti
ṣaṭ praṇidhānadoṣāḥ; atisthūlaṃ, karkaśam, avanataṃ, aṇubhinnaṃ,
sannikṛṣṭaviprakṛṣṭakarṇikaṃ, sūkṣmāticchidram, atidīrgham, atihrasvam,
asrimadity ekādaśa netradoṣāḥ; bahalatā, alpatā, sacchidratā, prastīrṇatā,
durbaddhateti pañca bastidoṣāḥ; atipīḍitatā, śithilapīḍitatā, bhūyo bhūyo
'vapīḍanaṃ, kālātikrama iti catvāraḥ pīḍanadoṣāḥ; āmatā, hīnatā, atimātratā,
atiśītatā, atyuṣṇatā, atitīkṣṇatā, atimṛdutā, atisnigdhatā, atirūkṣatā,
atisāndratā, atidravatā, ity ekādaśa dravyadoṣāḥ;
avākśīrṣocchīrṣanyubjottānasaṅkucitadehasthitadakṣiṇapārśvaśāyinaḥ pradānam
iti sapta śayyādoṣāḥ; evam etāś catuś catvāriṃśadvyāpado vaidyanimittāḥ |
āturanimittāḥ pañcadaśa āturopadravacikitsite vakṣyante | snehastvaṣṭabhiḥ
kāraṇaiḥ pratihato na pratyāgacchati tribhir doṣaiḥ, aśanābhibhūto,
malavyāmiśro, dūrānupraviṣṭo, asvinnasya, anuṣṇo, alpambhuktavato, alpaś
ceti vaidyāturanimittā bhavanti | ayogastūbhayoḥ, ādhmānaṃ, parikartikā,
parisrāvaḥ, pravāhikā, hṛdayopasaraṇam, aṅgapragraho, atiyogo, jīvādānam iti
nava vyāpado vaidyanimittā bhavanti ||
bhavati cātra ṣaṭsaptatiḥ samāsena vyāpadaḥ parikīrtitāḥ
|
tāsāṃ vakṣyāmi vijñānaṃ siddhiṃ ca tadanantaram ||

mukhasyāvaraṇād bastir na samyak pratipadyate | ṛju netraṃ vidheyaṃ syāt
tatrara samyagvijānatā ||
atisthūle karkaśe ca netre 'strimati gharṣaṇāt |
gude bhavet kṣataṃ ruk ca sādhanaṃ tasya pūrvavat ||
āsannakarṇike netre bhinne 'ṇau vā 'py apārthakaḥ |
avaseko bhaved bastes tasmād doṣān vivarjayet ||
prakṛṣṭakarṇike raktaṃ gudamarmaprapīḍanāt |
kṣaraty atrāpi pittaghno vidhirbastiś ca picchilaḥ ||
hrasve tvaṇusrotasi ca kleśo bastiś ca pūrvavat |
pratyāgacchaṃs tataḥ kuryād rogān bastivighātajān ||
dīrghe mahāsrotasi ca jñeyamatyavapīḍavat |
prastīrṇe bahale cāpi bastau durbaddhadoṣavat ||
bastāv alpe 'lpatā vā 'pi dravyasyālpā guṇā matāḥ |
durbaddhe cāṇubhinne ca vijñeyaṃ bhinnanetravat ||
atiprapīḍito bastiḥ prayātyāmāśayaṃ tataḥ |
vāterito nāsikābhyāṃ mukhato vā prapadyate ||
tatra tūrṇaṃ galāpīḍaṃ kuryāc cāpy avadhūnanam |
śiraḥkāyavirekau ca tīkṣṇau sekāṃś ca śītalān ||
śanaiḥ prapīḍito bastiḥ pakvādhānaṃ ca gacchati |
na ca saṃpādayaty arthaṃ tasmād yuktaṃ prapīḍayet ||
bhūyo bhūyo 'vapīḍena vāyur antaḥ prapīḍyate |
tenādhmānaṃ rujaś cogrā yathāsvaṃ tatra bastayaḥ ||
kālātikramaṇāt kleśo vyādhiś cābhipravardhate |
tatra vyādhibalaghnaṃ tu bhūyo bastiṃ nidhāpayet ||
godopadehaśophau tu sneho 'pakvaḥ karoti hi |
tatra saṃśodhano bastir hitaṃ cāpi virecanam ||
hīnamātrāvubhau bastī nātikāryakarau matau |
atimātrau tathā ''ānāhaklamātīsārakārakau ||
mūrcchāṃ dāhamatīsāraṃ pittaṃ cātyuṣṇatīkṣṇakau |
mṛduśītāvubhau vātavibandhādhmānakārakau ||
tatra hīnādiṣu hitaḥ pratyanīkaḥ kriyāvidhiḥ |
gudabastyupadehaṃ tu kuryāt sāndro nirūhaṇaḥ ||
pravāhikāṃ vā janayet tanuralpaguṇāvahaḥ |
tatra sāndre tanuṃ bastiṃ tanau sāndraṃ ca dāpayet ||
snigdho 'tijāḍyakṛd rūkṣaḥ stambhādhmānakṛd ucyate |
bastiṃ rūkṣamatisnigdhe snigdhaṃ rūkṣe ca dāpayet ||
atipīḍitavaddoṣān viddhi cāpy avaśīrṣake |
ucchīrṣake samunnāhaṃ bastiḥ kuryāc ca mehanam ||
tatrottaro hito bastiḥ susvinnasya sukhāvahaḥ |
nyubjasya bastir nāpnoti pakvādhānaṃ vimārgagaḥ ||
hṛdgudaṃ bādhate cātra vāyuḥ koṣṭhamathāpi ca |
uttānasyāvṛte mārge bastir nāntaḥ prapadyate ||
netrasaṃvejanabhrānto vāyuś cāntaḥ prakupyati |
dehe saṅkucite dattaḥ sakthnorapyubhayos tathā ||
na samyag anilāviṣṭo bastiḥ pratyeti dehinaḥ |
sthitasya bastir dattas tu kṣipramāyātyavāṅmukhaḥ ||
na cāśayaṃ tarpayati tasmān nārthakaro hi saḥ |
nāpnoti bastir dattas tu kṛtsnaṃ pakvāśayaṃ punaḥ ||
dakṣiṇāśritapārśvasya vāmapārśvānugo yataḥ |
nyubjādīnāṃ pradānaṃ ca basternaiva praśasyate ||
paś cād anilakopo 'tra yathāsvaṃ tatra kārayet |
vyāpadaḥ snehabastes tu vakṣyante taccikitsite ||
ayogādyās tu vakṣyāmi vyāpadaḥ sacikitsitāḥ |
anuṣṇo 'lpauṣadho hīno bastir naiti prayojitaḥ ||
viṣṭambhādhmānaśūlaiś ca tam ayogaṃ pracakṣate |
tatra tīkṣṇo hito bastis tīkṣṇaṃ cāpi virecanam ||
saśeṣānne 'thavā bhukte bahudoṣe ca yojitaḥ |
atyāśitasyātibahurbastir mandoṣṇa eva ca ||
anuṣṇalavaṇasneho hy atimātro 'thavā punaḥ |
tathā bahupurīṣaṃ ca kṣipramādhmāpayennaram ||
hṛtkaṭīpārśvapṛṣṭheṣu śūlaṃ tatrātidāruṇam |
tatra tīkṣṇataro bastir hitaṃ cāpy anuvāsanam ||
atitīkṣṇotilavaṇo rūkṣo bastiḥ prayojitaḥ |
sapittaṃ kopayed vāyuṃ kuryāc ca parikartikām ||
nābhibastigudaṃ tatra chinattīvātidehinaḥ |
picchābastir hitas tasya snehaś ca madhuraiḥ śṛtaḥ ||
atyamlalavaṇastīkṣṇaḥ parisrāvāya kalpate |
daurbalyamaṅgasādaś ca jāyate tatra dehinaḥ ||
parisravettataḥ pittaṃ dāhaṃ sañjanayed gude |
picchābastir hitas tatra bastiḥ kṣīraghṛtena ca ||
pravāhikā bhavettīkṣṇānnirūhāt sānuvāsanāt |
sadāhaśūlaṃ kṛcchreṇa kaphāsṛgupaveśyate ||
picchābastir hitas tatra payasā caiva bhojanam |
sarpirmadhurakaiḥ siddhaṃ tailaṃ cāpy anuvāsanam ||
atitīkṣṇo nirūho vā savāte cānuvāsanaḥ |
hṛdayasyopasaraṇaṃ kurute vā savāte cānuvāsanaḥ ||
doṣais tatra rujastāstā mado mūrcchā 'ṅgagauravam |
sarvadoṣaharaṃ bastiṃ śodhanaṃ tatra dāpayet ||
rūksasya bahuvātasya tathā duḥśāyitasya ca |
bastir aṅgagrahaṃ kuryād rūkso mṛdvalpabheṣajaḥ ||
tatrāṅgasādaḥ prastambho jṛmbhodveṣṭanavepakāḥ |
parvabhedaś ca tatreṣṭāḥ svedābhyañjanabastayaḥ ||
atyuṣṇatīkṣṇo 'tibahurdatto 'tisveditasya ca |
alpadoṣasya vā bastir atiyogāya kalpate ||
virecanātiyogena samānaṃ tasya lakṣaṇam |
picchābastiprayogaś ca tatra śītaḥ sukhāvahaḥ ||
atiyogāt paraṃ yatra jīvādānaṃ viriktavat |
deyas tatra hitaś cāpsu picchābastiḥ saśoṇitaḥ ||
navaitā vyāpado yās tu nirūhaṃ pratyudāhṛtāḥ |
snehabastiṣv api hi tā vijñeyāḥ kuśalair iha ||
ity uktā vyāpadaḥ sarvāḥ salakṣaṇacikitsitāḥ |
bhiṣajā ca tathā kāryaṃ yathaitā na bhavanti hi ||
paksādvireko vāntasya tataś cāpi nirūhaṇam |
sadyo nirūḍho 'nuvāsyaḥ saptarātrādvirecitaḥ ||

snehavastir vidheyas tu nāviśuddhasya dehinaḥ |
snehavīryaṃ tathā datte dehaṃ cānuvisarpati ||
ata ūrdhvaṃ pravakṣyāmi tailānīha yathākramam |
pānānvāsananasyeṣu yāni hanyurgadān bahūn ||
śaṭīpuṣkarakṛpṇāhvāmadanāmaradārubhiḥ |
śatāhvākuṣṭhayaṣṭyāhvavacābilvahutāśanaiḥ ||
supiṣṭair dviguṇakṣīraṃ tailaṃ toyacaturguṇam |
paktvā bastau vidhātavyaṃ mūḍhavātānulomanam ||
arśāṃsi grahaṇīdoṣamānāhaṃ viṣamajvaram |
kaṭhyūrupṛṣṭhakoṣṭhasthān vātarogāṃś ca nāśayet ||
vacāpuṣkarakuṣṭhailāmadanāmarasindhujaiḥ |
kākolīdvayayaṣṭyāhvamedāyugmanarādhipaiḥ ||
pāṭhājīvakajīvantībhārgīcandanakaṭophalaiḥ |
saralāgurubilvāmbuvājigandhāgnivṛddhibhiḥ ||
viḍaṅgāragvadhaśyāmātrivṛnmāgadhikardhibhiḥ |
piṣṭais tailaṃ pacet kṣīrapañcamūlarasānvitam ||

pānābhyañjanagaṇḍūṣanasyabastiṣu yojitam |
sthūlatālasyakaṇḍvādīn jayetkaphakṛtān gadān ||
pāṭhājamodāśārṅgeṣṭāpippalīdvayanāgaraiḥ |
saralāgurukālīyabhārgīcavyāmaradrumaiḥ ||
maricailābhayākaṭvīśaṭīgranthikakaṭphalaiḥ |
tailameraṇḍatailaṃ vā pakvamebhiḥ samāyutam ||
vallīkaṇṭakamūlābhyāṃ kvāthena dviguṇena ca |
hanyādanvāsanair dattaṃ sarvān kaphakṛtān gadān ||
viḍaṅgodīcyasindhūtthaśaṭīpuṣkaracitrakaiḥ |
kaṭphalātiviṣābhārgīvacākuṣṭhasurāhvayaiḥ ||
medāmadanayaṣṭyāhvaśyāmāniculanāgaraiḥ |
śatāhvānīlinīrāsnākalasīvṛṣareṇubhiḥ ||
bilvājamodakṛṣṇāhvādantīcavyanarādhipaiḥ |
tailameraṇḍatailaṃ vā muṣkakādirasāplutam ||
plīhodāvartavātāsṛggulmānāhakaphāmayān |
pramehaśarkarārśāṃsi hanyādāśvanuvāsanaiḥ ||
aśuddham api vātena kevalenātipīḍitam |
ahorātrasya kāleṣu sarveṣvevānuvāsayet ||
rūkṣasya bahūvātasya dvau trīnapyanuvāsanān |
dattvā snigdhatanuṃ jñātvā tataḥ paś cānnirūhayet ||
asnigdham api vātena kevalenātipīḍitam |
snehapragāḍhair matimānnirūhaiḥ samupācaret ||
atha samyaṅgirūḍhaṃ tu vātādiṣvanuvāsayet |
bilvayaṣṭyāhvamadanaphalatailair yathākramam ||
rātrau bastiṃ na dadyāt tu doṣotkleśo hi rātrijaḥ |
snehavīryayutaḥ kuryād ādhmānaṃ gauravaṃ jvaram ||
ahni sthānasthite doṣe vahnau cānnarasānvite |
sphuṭasrotomukhe dehe snehaujaḥ parisarpati ||
pitte 'dhike kaphe kṣīṇe rūkṣe vātarugardite |
nare rātrau tu dātavyaṃ kāle coṣṇe 'nuvāsanam ||
uṣṇe pittādhike vā 'pi divā dāhādayo gadāḥ |
saṃbhavanti yatas tasmāt pradoṣe yojayed bhiṣak ||
śīte vasante ca divā grīṣmaprāvṛṅghanātyaye |
snehyo dinānte pānoktān doṣān parijihīrṣatā ||
ahorātrasya kāleṣu sarveṣvevānilādhikam |
tīvrāyāṃ ruji jīrṇānnaṃ bhojayitvā 'nuvāsayet ||
na cābhuktavataḥ snehaḥ praṇidheyaḥ kathañcana |
śuddhatvāc chūnyakoṣṭhasya sneha ūrdhvaṃ samutpatet ||
sadā 'nuvāsayeccāpi bhojayitvā ''ārdrapāṇinam |
jvaraṃ vidagdhabhuktasya kuryāt snehaḥ prayojitaḥ ||
na cātisnigdhamaśanaṃ bhojayitvā 'nuvāsayet |
madaṃ mūrcchāṃ ca janayed dvidhā snehaḥ prayojitaḥ ||
rūkṣaṃ bhuktavato hy annaṃ balaṃ varṇaṃ ca hāpayet |
yuktasnehamato jantuṃ bhojayitvā 'nuvāsayet ||
yūṣakṣīrarasais tasmād yathāvyādhi samīkṣya vā |
yathocitāt pādahīnaṃ bhojayitvā 'nuvāsayet ||
athānuvāsyaṃ svabhyaktamuṣṇāmbusveditaṃ śanaiḥ |
bhojayitvā yathāśāstraṃ kṛtacaṅkramṇaṃ tataḥ ||
visṛjya ca śakṛnmūtraṃ yojayet snehabastinā |
praṇidhānavidhānaṃ tu nirūhe saṃpravakṣyate ||
tataḥ praṇihitasneha uttāno vākśataṃ bhavet |
prasāritaiḥ sarvagātrais tathā vīryaṃ visarpati ||
tāḍayet talayor enaṃ trīṃstrīn vārāñchanaiḥ śanaiḥ |
sphicoś cainaṃ tataḥ śayyāṃ trīn vārānutkṣipettataḥ ||
evaṃ praṇihite bastau mandāyāso 'tha mandavāk |
svāstīrṇe śayane kāmamāsītācārike rataḥ ||
sa tu saindhavacūrṇena śatāhvena ca yojitaḥ |
deyaḥ sukhoṣṇaś ca tathā nireti sahasā sukham ||
yasyānuvāsano dattaḥ sakṛdanvakṣamāvrajet |
atyauṣṇyādatitaikṣṇyādvā vāyunā vā prapīḍitaḥ ||
savāto 'dhikamātro vā gurutvād vā sabheṣajaḥ |
tasyānyo 'lpataro deyo na hi snihyatyatiṣṭhati ||
viṣṭabdhānilaviṇmūtraḥ snehahīne 'nuvāsane |
dāhaklamapravāhārtikaraś cātyanuvāsanaḥ ||
sānilaḥ sapurīṣaś ca snehaḥ pratyeti yasya tu |
oṣacoṣau vinā śīghraṃ sa samyaganuvāsitaḥ ||
jīrṇānnamatha sāyāhne snehe pratyāgate punaḥ |
laghvannaṃ bhojayet kāmaṃ dīptāgnis tu naro yadi ||
prātar uṣṇodakaṃ deyaṃ dhānyanāgarasādhitam |
tenāsya dīpyate vahnirbhaktākāṅkṣā ca jāyate ||
snehabastikrameṣvevaṃ vidhimāhurmanīṣiṇaḥ |
anena vidhinā ṣaḍ vā sapta vā 'ṣṭau navaiva vā ||
vidheyā bastayasteṣāmantarā tu nirūhaṇam |
dattas tu prathamo bastiḥ snehayed bastivaṅkṣaṇau ||
samyagdatto dvitīyas tu mūrdhasthamanilaṃ jayet |
janayed balavarṇau ca tṛtīyas tu prayojitaḥ ||
rasaṃ caturtho raktaṃ tu pañcamaḥ snehayet tathā |
ṣaṣṭhas tu snehayenmāṃsaṃ medaḥ saptama eva ca ||
aṣṭamo navamaś cāsthi majjānaṃ ca yathākramam |
evaṃ śukragatān doṣān dviguṇaḥ sādhu sādhayet ||
aṣṭādaśāṣṭādaśakān bastīnāṃ yo niṣevate |
yathokena vidhānena parihārakrameṇa ca ||
sa kuñjarabalo 'śvasya javais tulyo 'maraprabhaḥ |
vītapāpmā śrutadharaḥ sahasrāyurnaro bhavet ||
snehabastiṃ nirūhaṃ vā naikamevātiśīlayet |
snehādagnivadhotkleśau nirūhāt pavanādbhayam ||
tasmānnirūḍho 'nuvāsyo nirūhyaś cānuvāsitaḥ |
naivaṃ pittakaphotkleśau syātāṃ na pavanādbhayam ||
rūkṣāya bahuvātāya snehavastiṃ dine dine |
dadyādvaidyas tato 'nyeṣāmagnyābādhabhayāttryahāt ||
sneho 'lpamātro rūkṣāṇāṃ dīrghakālamanatyayaḥ |
tathā nirūhaḥ snigdhānāmalpamātraḥ praśasyate ||
ata ūrdhvaṃ pravakṣyāmi vyāpadaḥ snehabastijāḥ |
balavanto yadā doṣāḥ koṣṭhe syur anilādayaḥ ||
alpavīryaṃ tadā sneham abhibhūya pṛthagvidhān |
kurvantyupadravān snehaḥ sa cāpi na nivartate ||
tatra vātābhibhūte tu snehe mukhakaṣāyatā |
jṛmbhā vātarujastāstā vepathurviṣamajvaraḥ ||
pittābhibhūte snehe tu mukhasya kaṭutā bhavet |
dāhastṛṣṇā jvaraḥ svedo netramūtrāṅgapītatā ||
śleṣmābhibhūte snehe tu praseko madhurāsyatā |
gauravaṃ chardirucchvāsaḥ kṛcchrācchītajvaro 'ruciḥ ||
tatra doṣābhibhūte tu snehe bastiṃ nidhāpayet |
yathāsvaṃ doṣaśamanānyupayojyāni yāni ca ||
atyāśite 'nnābhibhavāt sneho naiti yadā tadā |
gururāmāśayaḥ śūlaṃ vāyoś cāpratisaṃcaraḥ ||
hṛtpīḍā mukhavair asyṃa śvāso mūrcchā bhramo 'ruciḥ |
tatrāpatarpaṇasyānte dīpano vidhiriṣyate ||
aśuddhasya malonmiśraḥ sneho naiti yadā punaḥ |
tadā 'ṅgasadanādhmāne śvāsaḥ śūlaṃ ca jāyate ||
pakvāśayagurutvaṃ ca tatra dadyān nirūhaṇam |
tīkṣṇaṃ tīkṣṇauṣadhair eva siddhaṃ cāpy anuvāsanam ||
śuddhasya dūrānusṛte snehe snehasya darśanam |
gātreṣu sarvendriyāṇām upalepo 'vasādanam ||
snehagandhi mukhaṃ cāpi kāsaśvāsāvarocakaḥ |
atipīḍitavattatra siddhirāsthāpanaṃ tathā ||
asvinnasyāviśuddhasya sneho 'lpaḥ saṃprayojitaḥ |
śīto mṛduśca nābhyeti tato mandaṃ pravāhate ||
vibandhagauravādhmānaśūlāḥ pakvāśayaṃ prati |
tatrāsthāpanam evāśu prayojyaṃ sānuvāsanam ||
alpaṃ bhuktavato 'lpo hi sneho mandaguṇas tathā |
datto naiti klamotkleśau bhṛśaṃ cāratimāvahet ||
tatrāpyāsthāpanaṃ kāryaṃ śodhanīyena bastinā |
(anvāsanaṃ ca snehena śodhanīyena śasyate) ||
ahorātrādapi snehaḥ pratyāgacchanna duṣyati |
kuryād bastiguṇāṃś cāpi jīrṇastvalpaguṇo bhavet ||
yasya nopadravaṃ kuryāt snehabastir aniḥsṛtaḥ |
sarvo 'lpo vā ''āvṛto raukṣyādupekṣyaḥ sa vijānatā ||
anāyāntaṃ tvahorātrāt snehaṃ saṃśodhanair haret |
snehabastāvanāyāte nānyaḥ sneho vidhīyate ||
ity uktā vyāpadaḥ sarvā salakṣaṇacikitsitāḥ |
basteruttarasaṃjñasya vidhiṃ vakṣyāmyataḥ param ||
caturdaśāṅgulaṃ netramāturāṅgulasaṃmitam |
mālatīpuṣpavṛntāgraṃ chidraṃ sarṣapanirgamam ||
snehapramāṇaṃ paramaṃ prakuñcaś cātra kīrtitaḥ |
pañcaviṃśādadho mātrāṃ vidadhyādbuddhikalpitam ||
niviṣṭakarṇikaṃ madhye nārīṇāṃ caturaṅgule |
mūtrasrotaḥparīṇāhaṃ mudgavāhi daśāṅgulam ||
meḍhrāyāmasamaṃ kecidicchanti khalu tadvidaḥ |
tāsāmapatyamārge tu nidadhyāccaturaṅgulam ||
dvyaṅgulaṃ mūtramārge tu kanyānāṃ tvekamaṅgulam |
vidheyaṃ cāṅgulaṃ tāsāṃ vidhivadvakṣyate yathā ||
snehasya prasṛtaṃ cātra svāṅgulīmūlasaṃmitam |
deyaṃ pramāṇaṃ paramamarvāg buddhivikalpitam ||
aurabhraḥ śaukaro vā 'pi bastirājaś ca pūjitaḥ |
tadalābhe prayuñjīta galacarma tu pakṣiṇām ||
(tasyālābhe dṛteḥ pādo mṛducarma tato 'pi vā) |
athāturam upasnigdhaṃ svinnaṃ praśithilāśayam ||
yavāgūṃ saghṛtakṣīrāṃ pītavantaṃ yathābalam |
niṣaṇṇamājānusame pīṭhe sopāśraye samam ||
svabhyaktabastimūrdhānaṃ tailenoṣṇena mānavam |
tataḥ samaṃ sthāpayitvā nālamasya praharṣitam ||
pūrvaṃ śalākayā 'nviṣya tato netramanantaram |
śanaiḥ śanair ghṛtābhyaktaṃ vidadhyādaṅgulāni ṣaṭ ||
meḍhrayāmasamaṃ kecidicchanti praṇidhānakam |
tato 'vapīḍayed bastiṃ śanair netraṃ ca nirharet ||
tataḥ pratyāgatasnehamaparāhṇe vicakṣaṇaḥ |
bhojayet payasā mātrāṃ yūṣeṇātha rasena vā ||
anena vidhinā dadyādbastīṃstrīṃś caturo 'pi vā |
ūrdhvajānvai striyai dadyāduttānāyai vicakṣaṇaḥ ||
samyak prapīḍayed yoniṃ dadyāt sumṛdupīḍitam |
trikarṇikena netreṇa dadyādyonimukhaṃ prati ||
garbhāśayaviśuddhyarthaṃ snehena dviguṇena tu |
kvāthapramāṇaṃ prasṛtaṃ striyā dviprasṛtaṃ bhavet ||
kanyetarasyāḥ kanyāyāstadvadbastipramāṇakam |
apratyāgacchati bhiṣag bastāvuttarasaṃjñite ||
bhūyo bastiṃ nidadhyāt tu saṃyuktaṃ śodhanair gaṇaiḥ |
gude vartiṃ nidadhyādvā śodhanadravyasaṃbhṛtām ||
praveśayed vā matimān bastidvāramathaiṣaṇīm |
pīḍayed vā 'pyadho nābherbalenottaramuṣṭinā ||
āragvadhasya patrais tu nirguṇḍyāḥ svarasena ca |
kuryād gomūtrapiṣṭeṣu vartīrvā 'pi sasaindhavāḥ ||
mudgailāsarṣapasamāḥ pravibhajya vayāṃsi tu |
basterāgamanārthāya tā nidadhyāchalākayā ||
āgāradhūmabṛhatīpippalīphalasaindhavaiḥ |
kṛtā vā śuktagomūtrasurāpiṣṭaiḥ sanāgaraiḥ ||
anuvāsanasiddhiṃ ca vīkṣya karma prayojayet |
śarkarāmadhumiśreṇa śītena madhukāmbunā ||
dahyamāne tadā bastau dadyādbastiṃ vicakṣaṇaḥ |
kṣīravṛkṣakaṣāyeṇa payasā śītalena ca ||
śukraṃ duṣṭaṃ śoṇitaṃ cāṅganānāṃ puṣpodrekaṃ tasya
nāṇaṃ ca kaṣṭam |
mūtrāghātānmūtradoṣān pravṛddhān yonivyādhiṃ saṃsthitiṃ cāparāyāḥ ||
śukrotsekaṃ śarkarāmaśmarīṃ ca śūlaṃ bastau vaṅkṣaṇe
mehane ca |
ghorānanyān bastijāṃś cāpi rogān hitvā mehānuttaro hanti bastiḥ ||
samyag dattasya liṅgāni vyāpadaḥ krama eva ca |
baster uttarasaṃjñasya samānaṃ snehabastinā ||
iti suśrutasaṃhitāyāṃ cikitsāsthāne
'nuvāsanottarabasticikitsitaṃ nāma saptaviṃśo 'dhyāyaḥ ||37 ||

vāmapārśvaśāyinamākuñcitadakṣiṇasakthimitaraprasāritasakthiṃ sumanasaṃ
jīrṇānnaṃ vāgyataṃ suniṣaṇṇadehaṃ viditvā, tato vāmapādasyopari netraṃ
kṛtvetarapādāṅguṣṭhāṅgulibhyāṃ karṇikām upari niṣpīḍya,
savyapāṇikaniṣṭhikānāmikābhyāṃ bastermukhārdhaṃ saṅkocya,
madhyamāpradeśinyaṅguṣṭhair ardhaṃ tu vivṛtāsyaṃ kṛtvā, bastāvauṣadhaṃ
prakṣipya, dakṣiṇahastāṅguṣṭhena pradeśinīmadhyamābhyāṃ
cānusiktamanāyatamabudbudamasaṅkucitamavātamauṣadhāsannam upasaṃgṛhya,
punarupari taditareṇa gṛhītvā dakṣiṇenāvasiñcet, tataḥ sūtreṇaivauṣadhānte
dvistrirvā ''āveṣṭya badhnīyāt, atha dakṣiṇenottānena pāṇinā bastiṃ gṛhītvā
vāmahastamadhyamāṅgulipradeśinībhyāṃ netram upasaṃgṛhyāṅguṣṭena netradvāraṃ
pidhāya, ghṛtābhyaktāgranetraṃ ghṛtāktamupādāya prayacched anupṛṣṭhavaṃśaṃ
samamunmukhamākarṇikaṃ netraṃ praṇidhatsveti brūyāt ||
bastiṃ savye kare kṛtvā dakṣiṇenāvapīḍayet |
ekenaivāvapīḍena na drutaṃ na vilambitam ||
tato netramapanīya triṃśanmātrāḥ pīḍanakālād
upekṣyottiṣṭhetyāturaṃ brūyāt | athāturam upaveśayed utkuṭukaṃ
bastyāgamanārtham | nirūhapratyāgamanakālas tu muhūrto bhavati ||
anena vidhinā bastiṃ dadyādbastiviśāradaḥ |
dvitīyaṃ vā tṛtīyaṃ vā caturthaṃ vā yathārthataḥ ||
samyaṅnirūḍhaliṅge tu prāote bastiṃ nivārayet |
viśeṣāt sukumārāṇāṃ hīna eva kramo hitaḥ ||
api hīnakramaṃ kuryānna tu kuryād atikramam |
yasya syādbastir alpo 'lpavego hīnamalānilaḥ ||
durnirūḍhaḥ sa vijñeyo mūtrārtyarucijāḍyavān
| yānyeva prāṅmayoktāni liṅgānyativirecite ||
tānyevātinirūḍhe 'pi vijñeyāni vipaścitā |
yasya krameṇa gacchanti viṭpittakaphavāyavaḥ ||
lāghavaṃ copajāyeta sunirūḍhaṃ tam ādiśet |
sunirūḍhaṃ tato jantuṃ snātavantaṃ tu bhojayet ||
pittaśleṣmānilāviṣṭaṃ kṣīrayūṣarasaiḥ kramāt ||
sarvaṃ vā jāṅgalarasair bhojayed avikāribhiḥ ||
tribhāgahīnam ardhaṃ vā hīnamātram athāpi vā ||
yathāgnidoṣaṃ mātreyaṃ bhojanasya vidhīyate ||
anantaraṃ tato yuñjyād yathāsvaṃ snehabastinā ||
viviktatā manastuṣṭiḥ snigdhatā vyādhinigrahaḥ ||
āsthāpanasnehabastyoḥ samyag dāne tu lakṣaṇam ||
tadahas tasya pavanād bhayaṃ balavad iṣyate ||
rasaudanastena śastas tadahaś cānuvāsanam ||
paś cād agnibalaṃ matvā pavanasya ca ceṣṭitam ||
annopastambhite koṣṭhe snehabastir vidhīyate ||
anāyāntaṃ muhūrttāt tu nirūhaṃ śodhanair haret ||
tīkṣṇair nirūhair matimān kṣāramūtrāmlasaṃyutaiḥ ||
viguṇānilaviṣṭabdhaṃ ciraṃ tiṣṭhannirūhaṇam ||
śūlāratijvarānāhān maraṇaṃ vā pravartayet ||
na tu bhuktavato deyam āsthāpanam iti sthitiḥ ||
visūcikāṃ vā janayecchardiṃ vā 'pi sudāruṇām ||
kopayet sarvadoṣān vā tasmād dadyād abhojine ||
jīrṇānnasyāśaye doṣāḥ puṃsaḥ pravyaktim āgatāḥ |.
niḥśeṣāḥ sukhamāyānti bhojanenāprapīḍitāḥ ||
navā''sthāpanavikṣiptam annam agniḥ pradhāvati |.
tasmād āsthāpanaṃ deyaṃ nirāhārāya jānatā ||
āvasthikaṃ kramaṃ cāpi buddhvā kāryaṃ nirūhaṇam |.
male 'pakṛṣṭe doṣāṇāṃ balavattvaṃ na vidyate ||
kṣīrāṇyamlāni mūtrāṇi snehāḥ kvāthā rasās tathā ||
lavaṇāni phalaṃ kṣaudraṃ śatāhvā sarṣapaṃ vacā ||
elā trikaṭukaṃ rāsnā saralo devadāru ca ||
rajanī madhukaṃ hiṅgu kuṣṭhaṃ saṃśodhanāni ca ||
kaṭukā śarkarā mustam uśīraṃ candanaṃ śaṭī ||
mañjiṣṭhā madanaṃ caṇḍā trāyamāṇā rasāñjanam ||
bilvamadhyaṃ yavānī ca phalinī śakrajā yavāḥ ||
kākolī kṣīrakākolī jīvakarṣabhakāvubhau ||
tathā bhedā mahābhedā ṛddhir vṛddhir madhūlikā ||
nirūheṣu yathālābham eṣa vargo vidhīyate ||
svasthe kvāthasya catvāro bhāgāḥ snehasya pañcamaḥ ||
kruddhe 'nile caturthas tu ṣaṣṭhaḥ pitte kaphe 'ṣṭamaḥ ||
sarveṣu cāṣṭamo bhāgaḥ kalkānāṃ lavaṇaṃ punaḥ |
kṣaudraṃ mūtraṃ phalaṃ kṣīramamlaṃ māṃsarasaṃ tathā ||
yuktyā prakalpayed dhīmān nirūh kalpanā tviyam ||
kalkasnehakaṣāyāṇāmavivekādbhiṣagvaraiḥ |
basteḥ sukalpanā proktā tasya dānaṃ yathārthakṛt ||
dattvā ''ādau saindhavasyākṣaṃ madhunaḥ prasṛtadvayam |
pātre talena mathnīyāttadvat snehaṃ śanaiḥ śanaiḥ ||
samyak sumathite dadyāt phalakalkamataḥ param |
tato yathocitān kalkān bhāgaiḥ svaiḥ ślakṣṇapeṣitān ||
gambhīre bhājane 'nyasminmaśnīyāttaṃ khajena ca |
yathā vā sādhu manyeta na sāndro na tanuḥ samaḥ ||
rasakṣīrāmlamūtrāṇāṃ doṣāvasthāmavekṣya tu |
kaṣāyaprasṛtān pañca supūtāṃs tatra dāpayet ||
ata ūrdhvaṃ dvādaśaprasṛtān vakṣyāmaḥ | dattvā ''ādau
saindhavasyākṣaṃ madhunaḥ prasṛtidvayam |
vinirmathya tato dadyāt snehasya prasṛtitrayam ||
ekībhūte tataḥ snehe kalkasya prasṛtiṃ kṣipet |
saṃmūrcchite kaṣāyaṃ tu catuḥprasṛtisaṃmitam ||
vitarec ca tadāvāpamante dviprasṛtonmitam |
evaṃ prakalpito bastir dvādaśaprasṛto bhavet ||
jyeṣṭhāyāḥ khalu mātrāyāḥ pramāṇamidamīritam |
apahrāse bhiṣak kuryāt tadvat prasṛtihāpanam ||
yathāvayo nirūhāṇāṃ kalpaneyamudāhṛtā |
saindhavādidravāntānāṃ siddhikāmair bhiṣagvaraiḥ ||
ata ūrdhvaṃ pravakṣyante bastayo 'tra vibhāgaśaḥ |
yathādoṣaṃ prayuktā ye hanyurnānāvidhān gadān ||

sakṣaudrāḥ saghṛtāś caiva grāhiṇo bastayaḥ smṛtāḥ ||
eteṣv eva ca yogeṣu snehāḥ siddhāḥ pṛthak pṛthak |
samasteṣv athavā samyagvidheyāḥ snehabastayaḥ ||
vandhyānāṃ śatapākena śodhitānāṃ yathākramam |
balātailena deyāḥ syur bastayastraivṛtena ca ||
narasyottamasattvasya tīkṣṇaṃ bastiṃ nidhāpayet |
madhyamaṃ madhyasattvasya viparītasya vai mṛdum ||

nṛpāṇāṃ tatsamānānāṃ tathā sumahatām api |
nārīṇāṃ sukumārāṇāṃ śiśusthavirayor api ||

samāsenopadekṣyāmi vidhānaṃ mādhutailikam ||
yānastrībhojyapāneṣu niyamaś cātra nocyate |

yojyastvataḥ sukhenaiva nirūhakramamicchatā |
yadecchati tadaivaiṣa prayoktavyo vipaścitā ||
madhutaile same syātāṃ kvāthaś cair aṇḍamūlajaḥ |
palārdhaṃ śatapuṣpāyāstato 'rdhaṃ saindhavasya ca ||
phalenaikena saṃyuktaḥ khajena ca viloḍitaḥ |
deyaḥ sukhoṣṇo bhiṣajā mādhutailikasaṃjñitaḥ ||
vacāmadhukatailaṃ ca kvāthaḥ sarasasaindhavaḥ |
pippalīphalasaṃyukto bastir yuktarathaḥ smṛtaḥ ||
suradāru varā rāsnā śatapuṣpā vacā madhu |
hiṅgusaindhavasaṃyukto bastir doṣaharaḥ smṛtaḥ ||
pañcamūlīkaṣāyaṃ ca tailaṃ māgadhikā madhu |
bastir eṣa vidhātavyaḥ saśatāhvaḥ sasaindhavaḥ ||
yavakolakulatthānāṃ kvātho māgadhikā madhu |
sasaindhavaḥ sayaṣṭyāhvaḥ siddhabastir iti smṛtaḥ ||

visarpajvaraviḍbhaṅgaraktapittavināśanaḥ ||
balyaḥ saṃjīvano vṛṣyaś cakṣuṣyaḥ śūlanāśanaḥ |
yāpanānāmayaṃ rājā bastir mustādiko mataḥ ||
avekṣya bheṣajaṃ buddhyā vikāraṃ ca vikāravit |
bījenānena śāstrajñaḥ kuryād bastiśatāny api ||
ajīrṇe na prayuñjīta divāsvapnaṃ ca varjayet |
āhārācārikaṃ śeṣamanyat kāmaṃ samācaret ||
yasmānmadhu ca tailaṃ ca prādhānyena pradīyate |
mādhutailika ity evaṃ bhiṣagbhir bastir ucyate ||
ratheṣv api ca yukteṣu hastyaśve cāpi kalpite |
yasmānna pratiṣiddho 'yamato yuktarathaḥ smṛtaḥ ||
balopacayavarṇānāṃ yasmād vyādhiśatasya ca |
bhavaty etena siddhis tu siddhabastir ato mataḥ ||
sukhināmalpadoṣāṇāṃ nityaṃ snigdhāś ca ye narāḥ |
mṛdukoṣṭhāś ca ye teṣāṃ vidheyā mādhutailikāḥ ||
mṛdutvāt pādahīnatvād akṛtsnavidhisevanāt |
ekabastipradānāc ca siddhabastiṣvayantraṇā ||
iti suśrutasaṃhitāyāṃ cikitsāsthāne nirūhakramacikitsitaṃ
nāmāṣṭatriṃśo 'dhyāyaḥ ||38 ||
ekonacatvāriṃśattamo 'dhyāyaḥ |
athāta āturopadravacikitsitaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ ||
yathovāca bhagavān dhanvantariḥ ||
snehapītasya vāntasya viriktasya srutāsṛjaḥ | nirūḍhasya
ca kāyāgnir mando bhavati dehinaḥ ||
so 'gnair atyarthagurubhir upayuktaiḥ praśāmyati |
alpo mahadbhir bahubhiś chādito 'gnir ivendhanaiḥ ||
sa cālpair laghubhiś cānnair upayuktair vivardhate |
kāṣṭhair aṇubhir alpaiś ca sandhukṣita ivānalaḥ ||
hṛtadoṣapramāṇena sadāhāravidhiḥ smṛtaḥ | trīṇi cātra
pramāṇāni prastho 'rdhāḍhakam āḍhakam ||
tatrāvaraṃ prasthamātraṃ dve śeṣe madhyamottame |
prasthe parisrute deyā yavāgūḥ khalpataṇḍulā ||
dve caivārdhāḍhake deye tisraś cāpy āḍhake gate |
vilepīmucitādbhaktāc caturthāṃśakṛtāṃ tataḥ ||
dadyād uktena vidhinā klinnasikthāmapicchilām |
agnigdhalavaṇaṃ svacchamudgayūṣayutaṃ tataḥ ||
aṃśadvayapramāṇena dadyāt susvinnam odanam |
tatas tu kṛtasaṃjñena hṛdyenendriyabodhinā ||
trīn aṃśān vitared bhoktum āturāyaudanaṃ mṛdu |
tato yathocitaṃ bhaktaṃ bhoktum asmai vicakṣaṇaḥ ||
lāvaiṇahariṇādīnāṃ rasair dadyāt susaṃskṛtaiḥ |
hīnamadhyottameṣv eṣu virekeṣu prakīrtitaḥ ||
ekadvitriguṇaḥ samyag āhārasya kramas tv ayam |
kaphapittādhikān madyanity ān hīnaviśodhitān ||
peyā 'bhiṣyandayet teṣāṃ tarpaṇādikramo hitaḥ |
vedanālābhaniyamaśokavaicittyahetubhiḥ ||
narān upoṣitāṃś cāpi viriktavad upācaret |
āḍhakārdhāḍhakaprasthasaṃkhyā hy eṣā virecane ||
śleṣmāntatvād virekasya na tām icchati tadvidaḥ |
eko virekaḥ śleṣmānto na dvitīyo 'sti kaś cana ||
balaṃ yat trividhaṃ proktam atas tatra kramas tridhā |
tatrānukramamekaṃ tu balasthaḥ sakṛdācaret ||
dvirācarenmadhyabalastrīn vārān durbalas tathā |
kecid evaṃ kramaṃ prāhur mandamadhyottamāgniṣu ||
saṃsargeṇa vivṛddhe 'gnau doṣakopabhayādbhajet |
prāk svādutiktau snigdhāmlalavaṇān kaṭukaṃ tataḥ ||
svādvamlalavaṇān bhūyaḥ svādutiktāvataḥ param |
snigdharūkṣān rasāṃś caiva vyatyāsāt svasthavattataḥ ||
kevalaṃ snehapīto vā vānto yaś cāpi kevalam |
sa saptarātraṃ manujo bhuñjīta laghu bhojanam ||
kṛtaḥ sirāvyadho yasya kṛtaṃ yasya ca śodhanam |
sa nā pariharenmāsaṃ yāvadvā balavān bhavet ||
tryahaṃ tryahaṃ parihared ekaikaṃ bastim āturaḥ ||
tṛtīye tu parīhāre yathāyogaṃ samācaret ||
tailapūrṇāmṛdbhāṇḍasadharmāṇo vraṇāturāḥ |
snigdhaśuddhākṣirogārtā jvarātīsāriṇaś ca ye ||
krudhyataḥ kupitaṃ pittaṃ kuryāt tāṃs tān upadravān |
āyāsyataḥ śocato vā cittaṃ vibhramam ṛcchati ||
maithunopagamād ghorān vyādhīn āpnoti durmatiḥ |
ākṣepakaṃ pakṣaghātam aṅgapragraham eva ca ||
guhyapradeśe śvayathuṃ kāsaśvāsau ca dāruṇau |
rudhiraṃ śukravac cāpi sarajaskaṃ pravartate ||
labhate ca divāsvapnāttāṃstān vyādhīn kaphātmakān |
plīhodaraṃ pratiśyāyaṃ pāṇḍutāṃ śvayathuṃ jvaram ||
mohaṃ sadanam aṅgānām avipākaṃ tathā 'rucim |
tamasā cābhibhūtas tu svapnam evābhinandati ||
uccaiḥ saṃbhāṣaṇād vāyuḥ śirasy āpādayed rujam |
āndhyaṃ jāḍyamajighratvaṃ bādhiryaṃ mūkatāṃ tathā ||
hanumokṣamadhīmanthamarditaṃ ca sudāruṇam |
netrastambhaṃ nimeṣaṃ vā tṛṣṇāṃ kāsaṃ prajāgaram ||
labhate dantacālaṃ ca tāṃs tāṃś cānyān upadravān |
yānayānena labhate chardimūrcchābhramaklamān ||
tathaivāṅgagrahaṃ ghoram indriyāṇāṃ ca vibhramam |
cirāsanāt tathā sthānāc chroṇyāṃ bhavati vedanā ||
aticaṅkramaṇād vāyur jaṅghayoḥ kurute rujaḥ |
sakthipraśoṣaṃ śophaṃ vā pādaharṣam athāpi vā ||
śītasaṃbhogatoyānāṃ sevā mārutavṛddhaye |
tato 'ṅgamardaviṣṭambhaśūlādhmānapravepakāḥ ||
vātātapābhyāṃ vaivarṇyaṃ jvaraṃ cāpi samāpnuyāt |
viruddhādhyaśanān mṛtyuṃ vyādhiṃ vā ghoram ṛcchati ||
asātmyabhojanaṃ hanyād balavarṇam asaṃśayam |
anātmavantaḥ paśuvad bhuñjate ye 'pramāṇataḥ |
rogānīkasya te mūlam ajīrṇaṃ prāpnuvanti hi ||
vyāpadāṃ kāraṇaṃ vīkṣya vyāpatsv etāsu buddhimān |
prayatetāturārogye pratyanīkena hetunā ||
viriktavāntair hariṇaiṇalāvakāḥ śaśaś ca sevyaḥ
samayūratittiriḥ |
saṣaṣṭikāś caiva purāṇaśālayas tathaiva mudgā laghu yac ca kīrtitam ||
iti suśrutasaṃhitāyāṃ cikitsāsthāne āturopadravacikitsitaṃ
nāmaikonacatvāriṃśo 'dhyāyaḥ ||39 ||
catvāriṃśattamo 'dhyāyaḥ |
athāto dhūmanasyakavalagrahacikitsitaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ ||
yathovāca bhagavān dhanvantariḥ ||
dhūmaḥ pañcavidho bhavati tad yathā prāyogikaḥ, snaihiko,
vair enikaḥ, kāsaghno, vāmanīyaś ceti ||
tatrailādinā kuṣṭhatagaravarjyena ślakṣṇapiṣṭena
dvādaśāṅgulaṃ śarakāṇḍamaṅgulipariṇāhaṃ kṣaumeṇāṣṭāṅgulaṃ veṣṭayitvā lepayed
eṣā vartiḥ prāyogike, snehaphalasāramadhūcchiṣṭasarjarasagugguluprabhṛtibhiḥ
snehamiśraiḥ snaihike, śirovirecanadravyair vair ecane,
bṛhatīkaṇṭakārikātrikaṭukāsamardahiṅgviṅgudītvaṅmanaḥśilācchinnaruhākarkaṭaśṛṅgīprabhṛtibhiḥ
kāsaharaiś ca kāsaghne,
snāyucarmakhuraśṛṅgakarkaṭakāsthiśuṣkamatsyavallūrakṛmiprabhṛtibhir
vāmanīyaiś ca vāmanīye ||
tatra bastinetradravyair dhūmanetradravyāṇi vyākhyātāni
bhavanti | dhūmanetraṃ tu kaniṣṭhikāpariṇāhamagre kalāyamātrasroto mūle
'ṅguṣṭhapariṇāhaṃ dhūmavartipraveśasroto 'ṅgulānyaṣṭacatvāriṃśat prāyogike,
dvātriṃśat snehane, caturviṃśatirvair ecane, ṣoḍaśāṅgulaṃ kāsaghne vāmanīye
ca | ete 'pi kolāsthimātracchidre bhavataḥ | vraṇanetramaṣṭāṅgulaṃ
vraṇadhūpanārthaṃ kalāyaparimaṇḍalaṃ kulatthavāhisrota iti ||
atha sukhopaviṣṭaḥ sumanā ṛjvadhodṛṣṭiratandritaḥ sthire
samāhite śarāve prakṣipya vartiṃ mūlacchidreṇānyena śarāveṇa pidhāya tasmin
chidre netramūlaṃ saṃyojya dhūmamāseveta, praśānte dhūme vartimavaśiṣṭāṃ
prakṣipya punarapi dhūmaṃ pāyayed ādoṣaviśuddheḥ; eṣa dhūmapānopāyavidhiḥ ||
mukhena taṃ pibet pūrvaṃ nāsikābhyāṃ tataḥ pibet|
mukhapītaṃ mukhenaiva vamet pītaṃ ca nāsayā||
mukhena dhūmam ādāya nāsikābhyāṃ na nirharet| tena hi
pratilomena dṛṣṭis tatra nihanyate||
viśeṣatas tu prāyogikaṃ ghrāṇenādadīta, snaihikaṃ
mukhanāsābhyāṃ, nāsikayā vairecanikaṃ, mukhenaivetarau||
tatra prāyogike vartiṃ vyapagataśarakāṇḍāṃ
nivātātapaśuṣkāmaṅgāreṣv avadīpya netramūlasrotasi prayujyadhūmam āhareti
brūyāt; evaṃ snehanaṃ vairecanikaṃ ca kuryād iti| itarayor vyapetadhūmāṅgāre
sthire samāhite śarāve prakṣipya vartiṃ mūlacchidreṇānyena śarāveṇa pidhāya
tasmin chidre netramūlaṃ saṃyojya dhūmam āseveta, praśānte dhūme vartim
avaśiṣṭāṃ prakṣipya punar api dhūmaṃ pāyayed ādoṣaviśuddheḥ; eṣa
dhūmapānopāyavidhiḥ||

ghrāṇaśrotrākṣijihvānām upaghātaṃ ca dāruṇam ||
ādyās tu trayo dhūmā dvādaśasu kāleṣūpādeyāḥ | tad yathā
kṣutadantaprakṣālananasyasnānabhojanadivāsvapnamaithunacchardimūtroccārahasitaruṣitaśastrakarmānteṣv
iti | tatra vibhāgo mūtroccārakṣavathuhasitaruṣitamaithunānteṣu snaihikaḥ,
snānacchardivāsvapnānteṣu vair ecanikaḥ, dantaprakṣālanasya
snānabhojanaśastrakarmānteṣu prāyogika iti ||
tatra snaihiko vātaṃ śamayati, snehād upalepāc ca; vair
ecanaḥ śleṣmāṇamutkleśyāpakarṣati, raukṣyāttaikṣṇyādauṣṇyādvaiśadyācca;
prāyogikaḥ śleṣmāṇamutkleśayatyutkliṣṭaṃ cāpakarṣati śamayati vātaṃ
sādhāraṇatvāt pūrvābhyām iti ||
bhavati cātra naro dhūmopayogācca prasannendriyavāṅmanāḥ
|
dṛḍhakeśadvijaśmaśruḥ sugandhiviśadānanaḥ ||
tathā
kāsaśvāsārocakāsyopalepasvarabhedamukhāsrāvakṣavathuvamathukrathatandrānidrāhanumanyāstambhāḥ
pīnasaśirorogakarṇākṣiśūlā vātakaphanimittāś cāsya mukharogā na bhavanti ||
tasya yogāyogātiyogā vijñātavyāḥ |
tatra yogo rogapraśamanaḥ, ayogo rogāpraśamanaḥ,
tālugalaśoṣaparidāhapipāsāmūrcchābhramamadakarṇakṣveḍadṛṣṭināsārogadaurbalyānyatiyogo
janayati ||
prāyogikaṃ trīṃstrīnucchvāsānādadīta mukhanāsikābhyāṃ ca
paryāyāṃstrīṃś caturo veti, snaihikaṃ yāvadaśrupravṛttiḥ, vair
ecanikamādoṣadarśanāt, tilataṇḍulayavāgūpītena pātavyo vāmanīyaḥ,
grāsāntareṣu kāsaghna iti ||
vraṇadhūmaṃ śarāvasaṃpuṭopanītena netreṇa vraṇam ānayet,
dhūmapānādvedanopaśamo vraṇavaiśadyam āsrāvopaśamaś ca bhavati ||
vidhireṣa samāsena dhūmasyābhihito mayā |
nasyasyātaḥ pravakṣyāmi vidhiṃ niravaśeṣataḥ ||
auṣadhamauṣadhasiddho vā sneho nāsikābhyāṃ dīyata iti
nasyam | tad dvividhaṃ śirovirecanaṃ, snehanaṃ ca | tad dvividham api
pañcadhā | tad yathā nasyaṃ, śirovirecanaṃ, pratimarśo, avapīḍaḥ,
pradhamanaṃ ca | teṣu nasyaṃ pradhānaṃ śirovirecanaṃ ca; nasyavikalpaḥ
pratimarśaḥ, śirovirecanavikalpo 'vapīḍaḥ pradhamanaṃ ca; tato nasyaśabdaḥ
pañcadhā niyamitaḥ ||
tatra yaḥ snehanārthaṃ śūnyaśirasāṃ grīvāskandhorasāṃ ca
balajananārthaṃ dṛṣṭiprasādajananārthaṃ vā sneho vidhīyate tasmin vaiśeṣiko
nasyaśabdaḥ | tat tu deyaṃ vātābhibhūte śirasi
dantakeśaśmaśruprapātadāruṇakarṇaśūlakarṇakṣveḍatimirasvaropaghātanāsārogāsyaśoṣāvabāhukākālajavalīpalitaprādurbhāvadāruṇaprabodheṣu
vātapaittikeṣu mukharogeṣv anyeṣu ca vātapittaharadravyasiddhena sneheneti
||
śirovirecanaṃ śleṣmaṇā
'bhivyāptatālukaṇṭhaśirasāmarocakaśirogauravaśūlapīnasārdhāvabhedakakṛmipratiśyāyāpasmāragandhājñāneṣv
anyeṣu cordhvajatrugateṣu kaphajeṣu vikāreṣu śirovirecanadravyais
tatsiddhena vā sneheneti ||
tatraitaddvividhamapyabhuktavato 'nnakāle pūrvāhṇe
śleṣmarogiṇāṃ, madhyāhne pittarogiṇāṃ, aparāhṇe vātarogiṇām ||
atha puruṣāya śirovirecanīyāya tyaktamūtrapurīṣāya
bhuktavate vyabhre kāle dantakāṣṭhadhūmapānābhyāṃ viśuddhavaktrasrotase
pāṇitāpaparisvinnamṛditagalakapolalalāṭapradeśāya vātātaparajohīne
veśmanyuttānaśāyine prasāritakaracaraṇāya kiñcit pravilambitaśirase
vastrācchāditanetrāya vāmahastapradeśinyagronnāmitanāsāgrāya viśuddhasrotasi
dakṣiṇahastena sneham uṣṇāmbunā prataptaṃ
rajatasuvarṇatāmramaṇimṛtpātraśuktīnām anyatamasthaṃ śuktyā picunā vā
sukhoṣṇaṃ snehamadrutam āsiñced avyavacchinnadhāraṃ yathā netre na prāpnoti
||
snehe 'vasicyamāne tu śiro naiva prakampayet |
na kupyen na prabhāṣec ca na kṣuyān na haset tathā ||
etair hi vihataḥ sneho na samyak pratipadyate |
tataḥ kāsapratiśyāyaśiro 'kṣigadasaṃbhavaḥ ||
tasya pramāṇamaṣtau bindavaḥ pradeśinīparvadvayaniḥsṛtāḥ
prathamā mātrā, dvitīyā śuktiḥ, tṛtīyā pāṇiśuktiḥ, ity etāstisro mātrā
yathābalaṃ prayojyāḥ ||
snehanasyaṃ nopagilet kathaṃ cid api buddhimān ||
śṛṅgāṭakam abhiplāvya nireti vadanād yathā |
kaphotkleśabhayāccainaṃ niṣṭhīvedavidhārayan ||
datte ca punarapi saṃsvedya galakapolādīn dhūmamāseveta,
bhojayeccainam abhiṣyandi, tato 'syācārikam ādiśet;
rajodhūmasnehātapamadyadravapānaśiraḥsnānātiyānakrodhādīni ca pariharet ||
tasya yogātiyogāyogānāmidaṃ vijñānaṃ bhavati ||
lāghavaṃ śiraso yoge sukhasvapnaprabodhanam |
vikāropaśamaḥ śuddhirindiryāṇāṃ manaḥsukham ||
kaphaprasekaḥ śiraso gurutendriyavibhramaḥ |
lakṣaṇaṃ mūrdhnayatisnigdhe rūkṣaṃ tatrāvacārayet ||
ayoge vātavaiguṇyamindriyāṇāṃ ca rūkṣatā | rogāśāntiś ca
tatreṣṭaṃ bhūyo nasyaṃ prayojayet ||
catvāro bindavaḥ ṣaḍ vā tathā 'ṣṭau vā yathābalam |
śirovirekasnehasya pramāṇam abhinirdiśet ||
nasye trīṇyupadiṣṭāni lakṣaṇāni prayogataḥ |
śuddha(śuddhi)hīnātisaṃjñāni viśeṣācchāstracintakaiḥ ||
lāghavaṃ śirasaḥ suddhiḥ srotasāṃ vyādhinirjayaḥ |
cittendriyaprasādaś ca śirasaḥ śuddhilakṣaṇam ||
kaṇḍūpadehau gurutā srotasāṃ kaphasaṃsravaḥ |
mūrdhni hīnaviśuddhe tu lakṣaṇaṃ parikīrtitam ||
mastuluṅgāgamo vātavṛddhirindriyavibhramaḥ |
śūnyatā śirasaś cāpi mūrdhni gāḍhavirecite ||
hīnātiśuddhe śirasi kaphavātaghnam ācaret |
samyagviśuddhe śirasi sarpirnasyaṃ niṣecayet ||
(ekāntaraṃ dvyanataraṃ vā saptāhaṃ vā punaḥ punaḥ |
ekaviṃśatirātraṃ vā yāvadvā sādhu manyate ||)
mārutenābhibhūtasya vā 'tyantaṃ yasya dehinaḥ |
dvikālaṃ cāpi dātavyaṃ nasyaṃ tasya vijānatā ||)

śirovirecanavadabhiṣyaṇṇasarpadaṣṭavisaṃjñebhyo dadyāc
chirocirecanadravyāṇām anyatamam avapiṣyāvapīḍya ca,
śarkarekṣurasakṣīraghṛtamāṃsarasānām anyatamaṃ kṣīṇānāṃ
śoṇitapitte ca vidadhyāt ||
kṛśadurbalabhīrūṇāṃ sukumārasya yoṣitām |
śṛtāḥ snehāḥ śiraḥśuddhyai kalkastebhyo yathā hitaḥ ||
cetovikārakṛmiviṣābhipannānāṃ cūrṇaṃ pradhamet ||
nasyena parihartavyo bhutavānapatarpito
'tyarthataruṇapratiśyāyī garbhiṇī pītasnehodakamadyadravo 'jīrṇī dattabastiḥ
kruddho garārtastṛṣitaḥ śokābhibhūtaḥ ānto bālo vṛddho vegāvarodhitaḥ
śiraḥsnātukāmaś ceti; anārtave cābhre nasyadhūmau pariharet ||
tatra
hīnātimātrātiśītoṣṇasahasāpradānādatipravilambitaśirasa ucchiṅghato vicalato
'bhyavaharato vā pratiṣiddhapradānāc ca vyāpado bhavanti tṛṣṇodgārādayo
doṣanimittāḥ kṣayajāś ca ||
bhavataś cātra nasye śirovireke ca vyāpado dvividhāḥ
smṛtāḥ |
doṣotkleśāt kṣayāccaiva vijñeyāstā yathākramam ||
doṣokleśanimittās tu jayecchamanaśodhanaiḥ |
atha kṣayanimittāsu yathāsvaṃ bṛṃhaṇaṃ hitam ||
pratimarśaś caturdaśasu kāleṣūpādeyaḥ; tad yathā
talpotthitena, prakṣālitadantena, gṛhānnirgacchatā,
vyāyāmavyavāyādhvapariśrāntena, mūtroccārakavalāñjanānte, bhuktavatā,
charditavatā, divāsvapnotthitena, sāyaṃ ceti ||
tatra talpotthitenāsevitaḥ pratimarśo rātrāvupacitaṃ
nāsāsrotogataṃ malam upahanti manaḥprasādaṃ ca karoti,
prakṣālitadantenāsevito dantānāṃ dṛḍhatāṃ vadanasaugandhyaṃ cāpādayati,
gṛhānnirgacchatā sevito nāsāseotasaḥ klinnatayā rajodhūmo vā na bādhate,
vyāyāmamaithunādhvapariśrāntenāsevitaḥ śramam upahanti, mūtroccārānte sevito
dṛṣṭergurutvam apanayati, kavalāñjanānte sevito dṛṣṭiṃ prasādayati,
bhuktavatā sevitaḥ srotasāṃ viśuddhiṃ laghutāṃ cāpādayati, vāntenāsevitaḥ
srotovilagnaṃ śleṣmāṇamapohya bhaktākāṅkṣām āpādayati,
divāsvapnotthitenāsevito nidrāśeṣaṃ gurutvaṃ malaṃ cāpohya cittaikāgryaṃ
janayati, sāyaṃ cāsevitaḥ sukhanidrāprabodhaṃ ceti ||
īṣaducchiṅghataḥ sneho yāvadvaktraṃ prapadyate |
nasye niṣiktaṃ taṃ vidyāt pratimarśaṃ pramāṇataḥ ||
nasyena rogāḥ śāmyanti narāṇāmūrdhvajatrujāḥ |
indriyāṇāṃ ca vaimalyaṃ kuryād āsyaṃ sugandhi ca ||
hanudantaśirogrīvātrikabāhūrasāṃ balam |
valīpalitakhālity avyaṅgānāṃ cāpy asaṃbhavam ||
tailaṃ kaphe savāte syāt kevale pavane vasām |
dadyāt sarpiḥ sadā pitte majjānaṃ ca samārute ||
caturvidhasya snehasya vidhirevaṃ prakīrtitaḥ |
śleṣmasthānāvirodhitvāt teṣu tailaṃ vidhīyate ||
ataḥ paraṃ pravakṣyāmi kavalagrahaṇe vidhim |
caturdhā kavalaḥ snehī prasādī śodhiropaṇau ||
sngidhoṣṇaiḥ snaihiko vāte svāduśītaiḥ prasādanaḥ |
pitte kaṭvamlalavaṇai rūkṣoṣṇaiḥ śodhanaḥ kaphe ||
kaṣāyatiktamadhuraiḥ kaṭūṣṇai ropaṇo vraṇe |
caturvidhasya caivāsya viśeṣo 'yaṃ prakīrtitaḥ ||
tatra trikaṭukavacāsarṣapaharītakīkalkamāloḍya
tailaśuktasurāmūtrakṣāramadhūnāmanyatamena salavaṇam abhiprataptam
upasvinnamṛditagalakapolalalāṭapradeśo dhārayet ||
sukhaṃ saṃcāryate yā tu mātrā sa (sā) kavalaḥ smṛtaḥ |
asaṃcāryā tu yā mātrā gaṇḍūṣaḥ sa prakīrtitaḥ ||
tāvac ca dhārayitavyo 'nanyamanasonnatadehena
yāvaddoṣaparipūrṇakapolatvaṃ nāsāsrotonayanapariplāvaś ca bhavati tadā
vimoktavyaḥ, punaś cānyo grahītavya iti ||
evaṃ snehapayaḥkṣaudrarasamūtrāmlasaṃbhṛtāḥ |
kasāyoṣṇodakābhyāṃ ca kavalā doṣato hitāḥ ||
vyādher apacayastuṣṭirvaiśadyaṃ vaktralāghavam |
indiryāṇāṃ prasādaś ca kavale śuddhilakṣaṇam ||
hīne jāḍyakaphotkleśāvarasajñānam eva ca |
atiyogān mukhe pākaḥ śoṣatṛṣṇāruciklamāḥ ||
śodhanīye viśeṣeṇa bhavanty eva na saṃśayaḥ |
tilā nīlotpalaṃ sarpiḥ śarkarā kṣīram eva ca ||
sakṣaudro dagdhavaktrasya gaṇḍūṣo dāhanāśanaḥ |
kavalasya vidhirhyeṣa samāsena prakīrtitaḥ ||
vibhajya bheṣajaṃ buddhyā kurvīta pratisāraṇam |
kalko rasakriyā kṣaudraṃ cūrṇaṃ ceti caturvidham ||
aṅgulyagrapraṇītaṃ tu yathāsvaṃ mukharogiṇām |
tasmin yogamayogaṃ ca kavaloktaṃ vibhāvayet ||
tān eva śamayed vyādhīn kavalo yān apohati |
doṣaghnam anabhiṣyandi bhojayec ca tathā naram ||
iti suśrutasaṃhitāyāṃ cikitsāsthāne
dhūmanasyakavalagrahacikitsitaṃ nāma catvāriṃśo 'dhyāyaḥ ||
iti bhagavatā śrīdhanvantariṇopadiṣṭāyāṃ tacchiṣyeṇa maharṣiṇā
suśrutena viracitāyāṃ suśrutasaṃhitāyāṃ cikitsāsthānaṃ samāptam ||
