oṃ namo dhanvantaraye namaḥ | athātas sarvabhūtañ cintāśārīram_ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ | athovāca bhagavān dhanvantaritaḥ | atha khalv avarma sa suśruta sarvabhūtānāṃ kāriṇam | akāraṇaṃ | satvarajastamolakṣaṇam | ṣṭarūpam akhilasya jagatas saṃbhavihetur avyaktan nāma . tad ekam anekeṣāṃ | kṣetrajñānām adhiṣṭhānam samudra ivaudakānām bhāvānām tasmād avyaktān mahān ut_padyate | talliṃga etal liṃgāc caṃ mahatas tallakṣaṇa evāhaṃkāra ut_padyate | sa trividhaḥ vaikārikastaijaso bhūtādir iti | tatra vaikārikād ahaṃkārāt tallakṣaṇāny evaikādeśendriyāṇy ut_padyante . tathyad yathā | śrotratvacakṣujihvāghrāṇavāghghastopasthapāyupādamanāṃsi tatra | pūrvāṇi | pañca buddhīndriyāṇi | itarāṇi pañca karmmondriyāṇi . ubhayātmakam manaḥ | bhūtādes tallakṣaṇāny evaā | pañcatanmātrāṇy ut_padyante | tad yathā . śabdatanmātraṃ | sparśśatanmātram | rūpatanmātram_ rasatanmātram | gandhatanmātram | iti bhūtāni te sas tadviśeṣāś śabdasparśarūparasagandhāḥ | evavm etāni tatvāni caturviṃśatir vyākhyātāni | tatra buddhīndriyāṇāṃ | śabdādayo viṣayoḥ . karmmendriyāṇāṃ yathāsaṃkhyaṃ vacanādānānandavisargavicāraṇāni | arvavyakta mahānahaṃkārāḥ . pañcatanmātrāṇi cety aṣṭau prakṛtayaḥ śeṣāṣ ṣoḍaśa vikārāḥ | tatra sarva evācetana vargaḥ | puruṣaḥ pañcaviṃśatikañ cetayitā so vikāry akāraṇasaṃyuktas saty apy acaitanye pradhāne | puruṣasya kaivalyārtthāṃ pravṛttim upadiśanti | kṣīrādīñ cātra hetūn udāharanti | ata ūrddhvaṃ prakṛtipuruṣayos sādharmmyavaidharmmye vyākhyāsyāmaḥ | tadyathā | ubhāv apy anādī | ubhāv apy aliṃgau | ubhāv apy anantau | ubhāv api nityau | ubhau ca sarvagatāv iti | ekā tu prakṛtir acetanā triguṇā bījadharmaṇī | amaddhyasthadharmmaṇī ceti - bahavas tu puruṣāś cetanāvantaḥ | aguṇāḥ | abījadharmmiṇīḥ | aprasavadharmmiṇaḥ | maddhyasthāś ceti | tatra kāraṇānurūpa kāryyam iti kṛtvā sarva evaite viśeṣāḥ | satvarajastamomayā bhavantī | tadvyañjanatvāt taj janmatvāc ca tatguṇā eva puruṣā bhavantī.ty eke bhāṣante | vaitadike tu svabhāvaṃ īśvaraḥ kālo yadracchā niyatis tathā . pariṇāṃ iti prāhuḥ prakṛtim_ pṛthudarśinaḥ | tamomayāni bhūtāni tat_guṇāny eva lakṣayet . taiś ca tallakṣaṇāḥ | kṛsnā bhūtagrāmāḥ prajajñire | tasyopayogo bhihitaś cikit_sām prati sarvadā bhūtebhyo hi parā cintā yasmāt_ nāsti cikitsite || yato hitan tat sam_bhavadravyasamūho bhūtādir iti imāni bhautikāni cendriyāṇy āyurvedadvido ubadanti | tathā . indriyārtthāṃś ca | bhak | indriyeṇendiyartthaṃ tu svaṃ svaṃ gṛhṇāti mānavaḥ . niyatan tulyayonitvāt_ nānyenānyam iti sthitiḥ | na cāyurvedaśāstreṣūpadiśyattnte | sarvagatāḥ kṣetrajñāḥ nityāś ca | asarvagateṣu kṣetrajñeṣu anityeṣu puruṣasaṃkhyātiprakārān hetūn udāharantī | āyurvedasiddhāntāḥ asarvagatā kṣetrajñā anityāś ca tiryagyonimānuṣadeveṣu sañcaranti | dharmmādharmanimittam_ ete numānagrāhyāḥ . paramasūkṣmāś cetanāvantaś ca śoṇitanetasāṃ sannipādeṣu abhivyañjyante | yato bhihitam_ pañcamahābhūtaśarīrasamavāyaḥ | puruṣa iti | sa khalv eṣa karmmapuruṣaś cikitsā.yām adhikṛtaḥ tasya sukhaduḥkham icchādveṣau prayatnaḥ prāṇāpānāv unmeṣanimeṣau buddhir manas saṃkalpo vicāraṇā | smṛtir vijñānam_ ddhyavasāyo viṣayopalabdhiś ca tu dha guṇāḥ sātvikās tu ānṛśaṃsyaṃ saṃvibhāgarucitā titikṣā satyadharmāv āstikyam_ jñānaṃ vijñānaṃ buddhir mmevā dhṛti nabhiṣagaś ceti rājasās tu duḥkhabahulatāṭanataraduśśīlatvam akāruṇyam ānṛtikatvam ahaṃkāro sam_bhamānaharṣa krodha kāmāś ca bhavanti | tāmasās tu viṣāditvaṃ nāstikyam_ dharmmaśīlatat buddhinirodho jñānan durmmedhatvam akarmmaśīlatā nidrālutvañ ceti āntarikṣāstu śabdaś śabdendriyam | sarvajidrasamūhe ra viviktatā ca | vāyavyās tu sparśa sparśendriyam sarvaceṣṭāsamūhaḥ | sarvaśarīraspandanam laghutā ca | taijasās tu | rūpaṃ rūpendriyam_ sa varṇasamūho drājiṣṇutā paktir amarṣas taikṣṇyam_ pīvyañ ca | āpyās tu raso rasanendriyam_ sarvadravasamūhaś śaityam_ sneho tretaś ca pārtthivās tu gandho gandhendriyam_ sarvamūrtisamūho gurutā ceti | tatra satvabahulam ākāśam_ rajobahulo vāyuḥ satvarajobahulāgniḥ sattvatamobahulā āpaḥ tamobahulā pṛthiviti | bhavati cātra śllokaḥ | anyonyānupraviṣṭāni sarvāṇy etāni nirddiśet | sve sve dravyeṣu sarveṣām_ vyaktalakṣaṇam iṣyate | aṣṭau prakṛtiya proktaḥ vikārāṣ ṣoḍaśaiva tu | kṣetrajñas tu samāsena paratantrasvatantrataḥ ||

iti dhanvantaritaḥ | sauśrutaśārīre prathamo dhyāyaḥ ||

suśrutaḥ | vāta pitta śleṣma e kuṇapa granthi pūya kṣīṇa purīṣa retāṃsi prajotpādaneṣv asamanyāni bhavanti | teṣu doṣanimittāni svarṇavedanābhir vijñeyāni | kuṇapagandhyanalpam_ raktena granthibhūtam_ śleṣmavātābhyāṃ pūtipūyābham_ pittaśoṇitābhyām_ kṣīṇaṃ prāg uktam_ puriṣagandhi sannipāteneti | teṣu kuṇapa gandhi pūya retāṃsi kṛcchrasāddhyāni puriṣaretas tv asāddhyam iti | ārttavam iti tribhir ddoṣaiś śoṇitacaturtthair ddvandvais samastaiś copasṛṣṭabījam_ bījam bhavati | tad api doṣavarṇavedanābhir vijñeyam teṣu kuṇapagrandhi pūya prakāśaṃ kṛcchrasāddhyaṃ puriṣārttavam asāddhyaṃ bha | teṣv ādyāñ cchukradoṣāṃs trīṃ snehanasvedādibhir jjayet | kriyāviśeṣair mmatimān tathaivottaravastibhiḥ | kuṇapākhye pibet sarppis sālasārādisādhitam granthibhūte śmaābhis siddham pālāśair vāpi bhasmabhiḥ | snehādiś ca kamaḥ kāryyaḥa pañcasv eteṣu jānatā | vidhim uttaravastyuktaṃ kuryād ārtavaśuddhaye | kuryyāt kalpān picūṃś cāpi pathyāny ācamanāni ca | durgandhe pūtisaṃkāśe majjobhe vā śoṇite | pibet_ bhadraśrīyakvāthañ candanam_ kvātham eva vā | granthibhūte pibet_ pāṭhā vṛkṣakaṃ kaṭubhis tribhiḥ | evam_ duṣṭaśukaś śuddhārttavām ṛtau prathama divasāt_ prabhṛti brahmacāriṇīm_ snānānulepanālaṃkārāvalekhana rahitāṃ darbha saṃstara śāyinim karatala śarāva parṇāvyannyatama bhojinim bhaviṣya tryahaṃ bhartā raṣite | tataś śuddhasnātāñ caturtthyām hata vāsinam | alaṃkṛtāṃ kṛtamaṃgalasvasti vācakāṃ bharttāran darśayet | api tat_ kasya hetoḥ | pūrvaṃ paśyed ṛtusnātā yādṛśan naram aṃganā . tadṛśañ janayet putraṃ bhartāran darśayed ataḥ | tato vidhānaṃ putriyam upāddhyāyas samārabhet . karmante ca kramañ cedam upekṣeta vicakṣaṇaḥ | tato parāhṇe ca pumān sarppikṣīrābhyām śālyodanam abhiprāśya māsam brahmacārī tailamāṣottarān nārīm upeyāt | rātrau sāmabhir viśvāsyā | saṃkalpya ca evam ṣaṣṭhyām aṣṭamyān daśamyāṃ dvādaśyāṃ vopeyāt | ataḥ para māsan nopeyāt || labdha garbhā nna caiveteṣv ahassu lakṣmaṇā vaṭa śuṃgā sahadevā viśva devānām anyatamaṃ abhiṣuya trīṃś caturo vā bindūn dadyāt | dakṣiṇe nāsāpuṭe putrakāmāyai vāme strīkāmāyai na caivetan niṣṭhīved iti bhātakā sphaṭikābhan dravam snigdhama madhuram_ madhugandhi ca | śukram icchanti kecit tu kṣaudratailanibhan tathā | śaśāsṛk_sadṛśaṃ yat tu yad vā lākṣārasopamama . tad ārttavam praśaṃsanti yad vāpsu na virajyati | tad evatiprasaṃgena pravṛttam annṛtāv api . asṛgdaraṃ vijānīyāt raktalakṣaṇalakṣitam | dhruvan trayāṇāṃ sānniddhyāt garbha syād vidhipūrvakam || kṣetrambījodakādīrāṃ sānniddhyād aṅkuro yathā | evañ jātā rūpāvanto mahāsatvāś cirāyuṣaḥ . bhavanty āṇapramoktāras satputrāḥ putriṇā hitāḥ | tatra tejodhātuvarṇānāma prabhava iti kṛtvā dayā garbhotoattāv abdhātuprāyo bhavati | tadā garbhasya gauravaṃ karoti | pṛthivīdhātuḥ prāyaḥ kāḻabaṃ pṛthivyākāśatoyadhātuḥ prāya syaśyāmatvam - vādṛśavarṇṇaṃ annam upasevate | garbhiṇī tādṛkavarṇṇaṃ prasūta ity eke bhāṣante | tatra dṛṣṭibhāgaṃ pratipannas tejodhātur jjātyandhaṃ karoti | sa eva raktānugato raktākṣaṃ śleṣmānugataḥ śuklākṣaṃ pittānugataḥ piṃgākṣaṃ vātānugato vikṛtākṣam iti bhakaḥ | bīje ntarvāyunā bhinne dvau jīvau | kukṣim āgatau | yamāv ity abhidhīyeta tharmmetarapuraskṛtau | āsekyo nāma bhavati strīpuṃsor alpabījayoḥ | sa śukraṃ prāśya labhate dhvajocchrāyam asaṃśayuyam | yaḥ pūtiyonyāñ jāyeta sa saugandhikasaṃjñitaḥ . sa yośephasorgandhaṃ āghrāya labhate balam | bhāryyāya sa tv ṛtau mohād aṃganāvat_ pravarttate | tatra strīceṣṭitācāroḥ jāyate ṣaṇḍasaṃjñitaḥ | ṛtau puruṣavac cāpi pravarttetāṃganā yadi . tatra kanyā yadi bhavet sā bhaven naraceṣṭitā | sarpavṛścikakūṃbhāṇḍavikṛtāvikṛtaāyas tu ye . garbhās tv etā strīyaś caiva jñeyāḥ pāpakṛto bhṛśam | garbho vātaprakopena dauhṛde cāvamānite | bhavet kubjaḥ kuṇiḥ paṃkur mmūkho durmmana eva vā | mātrāpitroś ca nāstikyāt_ aśubhaiś ca purākṛtaiḥ . vātādināñ ca kopena garbha vaikṛtam ucyate | malālpatvād ayogāc ca vāyoḥ pakvāśayasya va || vātamūtrapurīṣāṇi na garbhasthaḥ karoti ha | jarāyaṇā mukhe cchanne kaṇṭhe ca kaphaveṣṭite . vāyo mārgaprarodhāc ca na garbhasthaḥ prarodati | sanniveśaś śarīrāṇāṃ dantānāṃ pātanokt_bhavau . taleṣv asaṃbhavo yac ca romṇām etat svabhāvataḥ | bhāvitāḥ pūrvadeheṣu satataṃ śāstrabuddhayaḥ . bhavanti satvabahulāḥ purojātismarā narāḥ . mātrajāni talāny asmādyasmād romṇām asaṃbhava. pitrajāni pradeśāni bahuromāṇi tatvataḥ ||

iti śarīre dvitiyo ddhyāyaḥ |

athātaḥ garbhāvakāntīyama vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || saumyaṃ śukraṃ āgneyam ārttavam | itareṣām atra py atra bhūtānām sānniddhyam asty aṇatranām | viśeṣeṇa parasparopakārāt parasparānupraveśāc ca tat tu śukam strīpuṃsayos saṃprayoge yonau rajasā vrisuṣṭam anvakṣam eva bhūtātmanā ca saha bhūtvā satvarajastamobhir ddevāsurair aparaiś ca bhāvair vāyunābhipreryyamāṇaṃ garbhāśayam āt_myāvatiṣṭhate | tatra śukrahulyāt pumān_ ārttavabāhulyāt strī sāmyād ubhayor nnapuṃsakam | ṛtus tu dvādaśarātran dṛṣṭārtavo bhavati . adṛṣṭārttavo py astīti tad arvāg eke hāṣante | tatra sadyo grahītagarbhāyāḥ śramo rgāniḥ pipāsā sakthisīdanam āṭopaśukaśoṇitayor ananubandhaḥ gurutā sphuraṇañ ca yonyā bhavanti | bhakaḥ stanayoḥ kṛṣṇamukhatā romarājyutbhavas tathā | prasekas sīdanañ cāpi garbhiṇyā liṃgam muddhyate | tataḥ prabhṛty eva ca vyavāyam vyāyāmam apakarśanam | snehādikramaṃ śoṇitamokṣaṇañ ca | na seveta | tataḥ prathame māsi kledo jāyate | dvitīye māsi | śītoṣṇānilair ahipacyamāno mahābhūtānāṃ ghanapiṇḍas sañjāyate | yadi pumān_ stri cet peśī napuṃsakañ ced abudan tṛtīye hastapādaśirasām pañca piṇḍakānām abhinirvṛtti aṃgapratyaṃgavibhāgaś ca sūkṣmo bhavati | caturtthe sarvāṃgapratyaṃgavibhāgaś ca pravyaktataraḥ | garbhahṛdayapravyaktihāvāc cetanādhātur abhibuddhataro bhavati tatsthānatvāt tasmāt_ garbhaś caturtthe māsy ābhiprāyam indriyārttheṣu karoti | dvihṛdayāñ ca nārīn dauhṛdinīty ācakṣate | pañcame manaḥ pratibuddhataram bhavati | ṣaṣṭhe buddhiḥ saptame sarvapravyaktaśarīraḥ aṣṭame sthirībhavati | tatra jātaś ca na jīven nainṛtibhāgatvāt navaman daśamaikādaśa | dvādaśānām anyatamasmiñ jāyate | atho nyathā vikārī bhavati | mātus tu khalu garbhayarāyān nāḍyāṃ garbhanābhināḻī pratibaddhā sāsya mātur āhārarasavīryyam abhivahanti | tenopasnehenābhivṛddhir asya ca bhavanti | asañjātāṃgabhivibhāgam abhiniṣekāt prabhṛti sarvaśarīrānusāriṇīnāṃ rasavāhinīnām_ tiryyaggatānān dhamanīnām_ upasneho jīvayati | garbhasya khalu sambhavatas sarvāṇy aṃgapratyaṃgāni yugapad eva sambhavanti . pūrvottarakālayogo nāsti | kevalan tu saukṣmyān nābhivyajyate | yathākālaṃ pravyaktāni bhavanti | garbhasya tu keśaśmaśrulocunakhāsthiprabhṛtīni sthirāṇi pitṛjāni māṃsaśoṇita.medomajjaprabhṛtinī mṛdūni mātṛjāni | śarīropacayo balaṃ praddhi sthitir hāniś ca rajasāni | āyurārogyaṃ medhāsukhaduḥkhañ cātmajāni | tatra yasyā dakṣiṇe stane prāk payaso darśanam_ dakṣiṇapārśvaṃ saṃśritaś ca garbhaḥ gratau dakṣiṇāṃ sakthyutkarṣati bāhuś ca punnāmadheyeṣu daurhṛdeṣu yā sābhilāṣā bhavati | svapne copalabhate | punnāmānyeva prasanno mukhavarṇṇaś ca tām_ brūyāt | putram iyañ janayiṣyatīti tadviparyyaye kannyām | bhavanti cātra ślokaḥ . daivatabrāhmaṇaparā śuddhyāhitamitāśani . mahāguṇam_ prasūyeta viparītā ca nirguṇam | aṃgapratyaṃganirvṛtti svabhāvād eva jāyate . guṇa ye tv asya te jñeyā dharmmādharmmanimittajāḥ |
