athātaḥ sarvabhūtacintāśārīraṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || 1
yathovāca bhagavān dhanvantariḥ || 2 ||
sarvabhūtānāṃ kāraṇam akāraṇaṃ sattvarajastamo lakṣaṇam aṣṭarūpam
akhilasya jagataḥ saṃbhavahetur avyaktaṃ nāma | tad ekaṃ bahūnāṃ
kṣetrajñānām adhiṣṭhānaṃ samudra ivaudakānāṃ bhāvānām ||3||
tasmād avyaktān mahān utpadyate talliṅga eva | talliṅgāc ca mahatas
tallakṣaṇa evāhaṅkāra utpadyate; sa trividho vaikārikas taijaso bhūtādir iti
| tatra vaikārikād ahaṅkārāt taijasasahāyāt tallakṣaṇāny evaikādaśendriyāṇy
utpadyante,
tad yathā --
śrotra tvakcakṣurjihvā ghrāṇa vāgghastopastha pāyu pāda manāṃsīti;
tatra pūrvāṇi pañca buddhīndriyāṇi, itarāṇi pañca karmendriyāṇi,
ubhayātmakaṃ manaḥ; bhūtāder api taijasasahāyāt tallakṣaṇāny eva
pañcatanmātrāṇy utpadyante --- śabdatanmātraṃ, sparśatanmātraṃ,
rūpatanmātraṃ, rasatanmātraṃ, gandhatanmātram iti; teṣāṃ viśeṣāḥ --
śabdasparśarūparasagandhāḥ; tebhyo bhūtāni -- vyomānilānalajalorvyaḥ; evam
eṣā tattvacaturviṃśatir vyākhyātā ||4||
tatra buddhīndriyāṇāṃ śabdādayo viṣayāḥ; karmendriyāṇāṃ yathāsaṅkhyaṃ
vacanādānānandavisargaviharaṇāni ||5||
avyaktaṃ mahān ahaṅkāraḥ pañca tanmātrāṇi cety aṣṭau prakṛtayaḥ; śeṣāḥ
ṣoḍaśa vikārāḥ ||6||
svaḥ svaś caiṣāṃ viṣayo 'dhibhūtaṃ; svayam adhyātmam; adhidaivatam --- atha
buddher brahmā, ahaṅkārasyeśvaraḥ, manasaś candramāḥ, diśaḥ śrotrasya, tvaco
vāyuḥ, sūryaś cakṣuṣaḥ, rasanasyāpaḥ, pṛthivī ghrāṇasya, vāco 'gniḥ,
hastayor indraḥ, pādayor viṣṇuḥ, pāyor mitraḥ, prajāpatir upasthasyeti ||7||
tatra sarva evācetana eṣa vargaḥ, puruṣaḥ pañcaviṃśatitamaḥ
kāryakāraṇasaṃyuktaś cetayitā bhavati | saty apy acaitanye pradhānasya
puruṣakaivalyārthaṃ pravṛttim upadiśanti, kṣīrādīṃś cātra hetūn udāharanti
||8||
ata ūrdhvaṃ prakṛtipuruṣayoḥ sādharmyavaidharmye vyākhyāsyāmaḥ | tad yathā
--- ubhāv apy anādī, ubhāv apy anantau, ubhāv apy aliṅgau, ubhāv api nityau,
ubhāv apy anaparau, ubhau ca sarvagatāv iti; ekā tu prakṛtir acetanā triguṇā
bījadharmiṇī prasavadharmiṇy amadhyasthadharmiṇī ceti, bahavas tu puruṣāś
cetanāvanto 'guṇā abījadharmāṇo 'prasavadharmāṇo madhyasthadharmāṇaś ceti
||9||
tatra kāraṇānurūpaṃ kāryam iti kṛtvā sarva evaite viśeṣāḥ
sattvarajastamomayā bhavanti; tadañjanatvāt tanmayatvāc ca tadguṇā eva
puruṣā bhavantīty eke bhāṣante ||10||
vaidyake tu --
svabhāvam īśvaraṃ kālaṃ yadṛcchāṃ niyatiṃ tathā |
pariṇāmaṃ ca manyante prakṛtiṃ pṛthudarśinaḥ ||11||
tanmayāny eva bhūtāni tadguṇāny eva cādiśet |
taiś ca tallakṣaṇaḥ kṛtsno bhūtagrāmo vyajanyata ||12||
tasyopayogo 'bhihitaś cikitsāṃ prati sarvadā |
bhūtebhyo hi paraṃ yasmān nāsti cintā cikitsite ||13||
yato 'bhihitaṃ --- “tatsaṃbhavadravyasamūho bhūtādir uktaḥ” (sū.1);
bhautikāni cendriyāṇy āyurvede varṇyante, tathendriyārthāḥ ||14||
bhavati cātra --- indriyeṇendiyārthaṃ tu svaṃ svaṃ gṛhṇāti mānavaḥ ||
niyataṃ tulyayonitvān nānyenānyam iti sthitiḥ ||
na cāyurvedaśāstreṣūpadiśyante sarvagatāḥ kṣetrajñā nityāś ca; asarvagateṣu
ca kṣetrajñeṣu nityapuruṣakhyāpakān hetūn udāharanti; āyurvedaśāstreṣv
asarvagatāḥ kṣetrajñā nityāś ca, tiryagyonimānuṣadeveṣu saṃcaranti
dharmādharmanimittaṃ; ta ete 'numānagrāhyāḥ paramasūkṣmāścetanāvantaḥ
śāśvatā lohitaretasoḥ sannipāteṣv abhivyajyante, yato 'bhihitaṃ ---
‘pañcamahābhūtaśarīrisamavāyaḥ puruṣaḥ’ (sū.a.1) iti; sa eṣa karmapuruṣaś
cikitsādhikṛtaḥ ||16||
tasya sukhaduḥkhe icchādveṣau prayatnaḥ prāṇāpānāv unmeṣanimeṣau buddhir
manaḥ saṅkalpo vicāraṇā smṛtir vijñānam adhyavasāyo viṣayopalabdhiś ca guṇāḥ
||17||
sāttvikās tu --- ānṛśaṃsyaṃ saṃvibhāgarucitā titikṣā satyaṃ dharma āstikyaṃ
jñānaṃ buddhir medhā smṛtir dhṛtir anabhiṣaṅgaś ca; rājasās tu ---
duḥkha bahulatāṭanaśīlatādhṛtir ahaṅkāra ānṛtikatvam akāruṇyaṃ
dambho māno harṣaḥ kāmaḥ krodhaś ca; tāmasās tu -- viṣāditvaṃ nāstikyam
adharmaśīlatā buddher nirodho 'jñānaṃ durmedhastvam akarmaśīlatā nidrālutvaṃ
ceti ||18||
āntarikṣāḥ --- śabdaḥ śabdendriyaṃ sarvacchidrasamūho viviktatā ca;
vāyavyās tu --- sparśaḥ sparśendriyaṃ sarvaceṣṭāsamūhaḥ sarvaśarīraspandanaṃ
laghutā ca; taijasās tu --- rūpaṃ rūpendriyaṃ varṇaḥ santāpo bhrājiṣṇutā
paktir amarṣas taikṣṇyaṃ śauryaṃ ca; āpyās tu --- raso rasanendriyaṃ
sarvadravasamūho gurutā śaityaṃ sneho retaś ca; pārthivās tu --- gandho
gandhendriyaṃ sarvamūrtasamūho gurutā ceti ||19||
tatra sattvabahulam ākāśaṃ, rajobahulo vāyuḥ, sattvarajobahulo 'gniḥ,
sattvatamobahulā āpaḥ, tamobahulā pṛthivīti ||20||
ślokau cātra bhavataḥ --
anyonyānupraviṣṭāni sarvāṇy etāni nirdiśet
sve sve dravye tu sarveṣāṃ vyaktaṃ lakṣaṇam iṣyate ||21||
aṣṭau prakṛtayaḥ proktā vikārāḥ ṣoḍaśaiva tu |
kṣetrajñaś ca samāsena svatantraparatantrayoḥ ||22||
iti suśrutasaṃhitāyāṃ śārīrasthāne
sarvabhūtacintāśārīraṃ nāma prathamo 'dhyāyaḥ ||1||

vāta pitta śleṣma kuṇapa granthi pūtipūya kṣīṇa mūtrapurīṣa retasaḥ prajotpādane na samarthā bhavanti

teṣu vātavarṇavedanaṃ vātena, pittavarṇavedanaṃ pittena, śleṣmavarṇavedanaṃ
śleṣmaṇā, kuṇapagandhyanalpaṃ ca raktena, granthibhūtaṃ śleṣmavātābhyāṃ,
pūtipūyanibhaṃ pittaśleṣmabhyāṃ, kṣīṇaṃ prāg uktaṃ pittamārutābhyāṃ,
mūtrapurīṣagandhi sannipāteneti | teṣu kuṇapa granthi pūti pūya kṣīṇa retasaḥ
kṛcchrasādhyāḥ, mūtrapurīṣaretasas tv asādhyā iti ||4||
ārtavam api tribhir doṣaiḥ śoṇitacaturthaiḥ pṛthagdvandvaiḥ samastaiś
copasṛṣṭam abījaṃ bhavati; tad api doṣavarṇavedanādibhir vijñeyam | teṣu
kuṇapagranthi pūtipūya kṣīṇamūtrapurīṣa prakāśam asādhyaṃ , sādhyam anyac ceti ||5||
bhavanti cātra --
teṣv ādyāñ śukradoṣāṃs trīn snehasvedādibhir jayet |
kriyāviśeṣair matimāṃs tathā cottarabastibhiḥ ||6||
pāyayeta naraṃ sarpir bhiṣak kuṇapa retasi |
dhātakīpuṣpakhadira dāḍimārjuna sādhitam ||7||
pāyayed athavā sarpiḥ śālasārādisādhitam |
granthibhūte śaṭīsiddhaṃ pālāśe vāpi bhasmani ||8||
parūṣakavaṭādibhyāṃ pūyaprakhye ca sādhitam |
prāguktaṃ vakṣyate yac ca tat kāryaṃ kṣīṇaretasi ||9||

pūrvaṃ paśyed ṛtusnātā yādṛśaṃ naram aṅganā |

tato vidhānaṃ putrīyam upādhyāyaḥ samācaret |

tato 'parāhṇe pumān māsaṃ brahmacārī sarpiḥsnigdhaḥ sarpiḥkṣīrābhyāṃ

nārīm upeyād rātrau sāmādibhir abhiviśvāsya ; vikalpyaivaṃ caturthyāṃ

tatra prathame divase ṛtumatyāṃ maithunagamanam anāyuṣyaṃ puṃsāṃ bhavati,
yaś ca tatrādhīyate garbhaḥ sa prasavamāno vimucyate ; dvitīye 'py evaṃ
sūtikāgṛhe vā; tṛtīye 'py evam asampūrṇāṅgo 'lpāyur vā bhavati; caturthe tu
sampūrṇāṅgo dīrghāyuś ca bhavati | na ca pravartamāne rakte bījaṃ praviṣṭaṃ
guṇakaraṃ bhavati, yathā nadyāṃ pratisrotaḥ plāvidravyaṃ prakṣiptaṃ
pratinivartate nordhvaṃ gacchati tadvad etad draṣṭavyam | tasmān niyamavatīṃ
trirātraṃ pariharet |
ataḥ paraṃ māsād upeyāt ||31||
labdha garbhā yāś caiteṣv ahaḥsu lakṣmaṇā vaṭa śuṅga sahadevā viśva devānām anyatamāṃ kṣīreṇābhiṣutya trīṃś caturo vā bindūn dadyād
dakṣiṇe nāsāpuṭe putrakāmāyai , na ca tān niṣṭhīvet ||32||
dhruvaṃ caturṇāṃ sānnidhyād garbhaḥ syād vidhipūrvakam |
ṛtukṣetrāmbubījānāṃ sāmagryād aṅkuro yathā ||33||
evaṃ jātā rūpavantaḥ sattvavantaś cirāyuṣaḥ |
bhavanty ṛṇasya moktāraḥ satputrāḥ putriṇe hitāḥ ||34||
tatra tejodhātur varṇānāṃ prabhavaḥ, sa yadā garbhotpattāv abdhātuprāyo
bhavati tadā garbhaṃ gauraṃ karoti, pṛthivīdhātuprāyaḥ kṛṣṇaṃ,
pṛthivyākāśadhātuprāyaḥ kṛṣṇaśyāmaṃ, toyākāśadhātuprāyo gauraśyāmam |
‘yādṛgvarṇam āhāram upasevate garbhiṇī tādṛgvarṇaprasavā bhavati’ ity eke
bhāṣante | tatra dṛṣṭibhāgam apratipannaṃ tejo jātyandhaṃ karoti, tad eva
raktānugataṃ raktākṣaṃ, pittānugataṃ piṅgākṣaṃ, śleṣmānugataṃ śuklākṣaṃ,
vātānugataṃ vikṛtākṣam iti ||35||
bhavanti cātra --
ghṛtapiṇḍo yathaivāgnim āśritaḥ pravilīyate |
visarpaty ārtavaṃ nāryās tathā puṃsāṃ samāgame ||36||
bīje 'ntarvāyunā bhinne dvau jīvau kukṣim āgatau |
yamāv ity abhidhīyete dharmetarapuraḥsarau ||37||
pitror atyalpabījatvād āsekyaḥ puruṣo bhavet |
sa śukraṃ prāśya labhate dhvajocchrāyam asaṃśayam ||38||
yaḥ pūtiyonau jāyeta sa saugandhikasaṃjñitaḥ |
sa yoniśephasor gandham āghrāya labhate balam ||39||
sve gude 'brahmacaryād yaḥ strīṣu puṃvat pravartate |
kumbhīkaḥ sa tu vijñeyaḥ
īrṣyakaṃ śṛṇu cāparam ||40||
dṛṣṭvā vyavāyam anyeṣāṃ vyavāye yaḥ pravartate |
īrṣyakaḥ sa ca vijñeyaḥ,
ṣaṇḍakaṃ śṛṇu pañcamam ||41||
yo bhāryāyām ṛtau mohād aṅganeva pravartate ||
tataḥ strīceṣṭitākāro jāyate ṣaṇḍhasaṃjñitaḥ ||42||
ṛtau puruṣavad vāpi pravartetāṅganā yadi |
tatra kanyā yadi bhavet sā bhaven naraceṣṭitā ||43||
āsekyaś ca sugandhī ca kumbhīkaś cerṣyakas tathā |
saretasas tv amī jñeyā aśukraḥ ṣaṇḍhasaṃjñitaḥ ||44||
anayā viprakṛtyā tu teṣāṃ śukravahāḥ sirāḥ |
harṣāt sphuṭatvam āyānti dhvajocchrāyas tato bhavet ||45||
āhārācāraceṣṭābhir yādṛśībhiḥ samanvitau |
strīpuṃsau samupeyātāṃ tayoḥ putro 'pi tādṛśaḥ ||46||
yadā nāryāv upeyātāṃ vṛṣasyantyau kathañcana |
muñcataḥ śukram anyonyam anasthis tatra jāyate ||47||
ṛtusnātā tu yā nārī svapne maithunam āvahet |
ārtavaṃ vāyur ādāya kukṣau garbhaṃ karoti hi ||48||
māsi māsi vivardheta garbhiṇyā garbhalakṣaṇam |
kalalaṃ jāyate tasyā varjitaṃ paitṛkair guṇaiḥ ||49||
sarpa vṛścika kūṣmāṇḍa vikṛtākṛtayaś ca ye |
garbhās tv ete striyāś caiva jñeyāḥ pāpakṛto bhṛśam ||50||
garbho vātaprakopeṇa dauhṛde vāvamānite |
bhavet kubjaḥ kuṇiḥ paṅgur mūko minmiṇa eva vā ||51||
mātāpitros tu nāstikyād aśubhaiś ca purākṛtaiḥ |
vātādīnāṃ prakopeṇa garbho vaikṛtam āpnuyāt ||52||
malālpatvād ayogāc ca vāyoḥ pakvāśayasya ca |
vātamūtrapurīṣāṇi na garbhasthaḥ karoti hi ||53||
jarāyuṇā mukhe cchanne kaṇṭhe ca kaphaveṣṭite |
vāyor mārganirodhāc ca na garbhasthaḥ praroditi ||54||
niḥśvāsocchvāsa saṅkṣobha svapnān garbho 'dhigacchati |
mātur niśvasitocchvāsasaṅkṣobhasvapnasaṃbhavān ||55||
sanniveśaḥ śarīrāṇāṃ dantānāṃ patanodbhavau |
taleṣv asaṃbhavo yaś ca romṇām etat svabhāvataḥ ||56||
bhāvitāḥ pūrvadeheṣu satataṃ śāstrabuddhayaḥ |
bhavanti sattva bhūyiṣṭhāḥ pūrvajātismarā narāḥ ||57||
karmaṇā codito yena tad āpnoti punarbhave |
abhyastāḥ pūrvadehe ye tān eva bhajate guṇān ||58||

tatra strīpuṃsayoḥ saṃyoge tejaḥ śarīrād vāyur udīrayati, tatas
tejonila sannipātāc chukraṃ cyutaṃ yonim abhipratipadyate
saṃsṛjyate cārtavena, tato 'gnīṣomasaṃyogāt saṃsṛjyamāno garbhāśayam
anupratipadyate kṣetrajño vedayitā spraṣṭā ghrātā draṣṭā śrotā rasayitā
puruṣaḥ sraṣṭā gantā sākṣī dhātā vaktā yaḥ ko 'sāv ity evam ādibhiḥ
paryāyavācakair nāmabhir abhidhīyate daivasaṃyogād akṣayo 'vyayo 'cintyo
bhūtātmanā sahānvakṣaṃ sattvarajastamobhir daivāsurair aparaiś ca bhāvair
vāyunābhipreryamāṇo garbhāśayam anupraviśyāvatiṣṭhate ||4||
tatra śukrabāhulyāt pumān, ārtavabāhulyāt strī, sāmyād ubhayor napuṃsakam
iti ||5||
ṛtus tu dvādaśarātraṃ bhavati dṛṣṭārtavaḥ;
adṛṣṭārtavāpy astīty eke bhāṣante ||6||
bhavanti cātra
pīnaprasannavadanāṃ praklinnātmamukhadvijām |
narakāmāṃ priyakathāṃ srastakukṣyakṣimūrdhajām ||7||
sphuradbhujakucaśroṇinābhyūru jaghana sphicām |
harṣautsukyaparāṃ cāpi vidyād ṛtumatīm iti ||8||
niyataṃ divase 'tīte saṅkucaty ambujaṃ yathā |
ṛtau vyatīte nāryās tu yoniḥ saṃvriyate tathā ||9||
māsenopacitaṃ kāle dhamanībhyāṃ tad ārtavam |
īṣatkṛṣṇaṃ vivarṇaṃ ca vāyur yonimukhaṃ nayet ||10||
tad varṣād dvādaśāt kāle vartamānam asṛk punaḥ |
jarāpakvaśarīrāṇāṃ yāti pañcāśataḥ kṣayam ||11||
yugmeṣu tu pumān prokto divaseṣv anyathābalā |
puṣpakāle śucis tasmād apatyārthī striyaṃ vrajet ||12||
tatra sadyo gṛhītagarbhāyā liṅgāni --- śramo glāniḥ pipāsā
sakthi sadanaṃ śukraśoṇitayor avabandhaḥ sphuraṇaṃ ca yoneḥ

stanayoḥ kṛṣṇamukhatā romarājyudgamas tathā |
akṣipakṣmāṇi cāpy asyāḥ saṃmīlyante viśeṣataḥ ||14||
akāmataś chardayati gandhād udvijate śubhāt |
prasekaḥ sadanaṃ cāpi garbhiṇyā liṅgam ucyate ||15||
tadā prabhṛti vyavāyaṃ vyāyāmam atitarpaṇam atikarśanaṃ divāsvapnaṃ
rātrijāgaraṇaṃ śokaṃ yānārohaṇaṃ bhayam utkuṭukāsanaṃ caikāntataḥ
snehādikriyāṃ śoṇitamokṣaṇaṃ cākāle vegavidhāraṇaṃ ca na seveta ||16||
doṣābhighātair garbhiṇyā yo yo bhāgaḥ prapīḍyate |
sa sa bhāgaḥ śiśos tasya garbhasthasya prapīḍyate ||17||
tatra prathame māsi kalalaṃ jāyate; dvitīye śītoṣmānilair
abhiprapacyamānānāṃ mahābhūtānāṃ saṃghāto ghanaḥ sañjāyate, yadi piṇḍaḥ
pumān, strī cet peśī, napuṃsakaṃ ced arbudam iti; tṛtīye hastapādaśirasāṃ
pañca piṇḍakā nirvartante 'ṅgapratyaṅgavibhāgaś ca sūkṣmo bhavati; caturthe
sarvāṅgapratyaṅgavibhāgaḥ pravyakto bhavati, garbhahṛdayapravyaktibhāvāc
cetanādhātur abhivyakto bhavati, kasmāt? tatsthānatvāt | tasmād garbhaś
caturthe māsy abhiprāyam indriyārtheṣu karoti, dvihṛdayāṃ ca nārīṃ
dauhṛdinīm ācakṣate | dauhṛdavimānanāt kubjaṃ kuṇiṃ khañjaṃ jaḍaṃ vāmanaṃ
vikṛtākṣamanakṣaṃ vā nārī sutaṃ janayati, tasmāt sā yad yad icchet tat
tasyai dāpayet, labdhadauhṛdā hi vīryavantaṃ cirāyuṣaṃ ca putraṃ janayati

bhavanti cātra
indriyārthāṃs tu yān yān sā bhoktum icchati garbhiṇī garbhābādhabhayāt tāṃs
tān bhiṣag āhṛtya dāpayet ||19||
sā prāptadauhṛdā putraṃ janayeta guṇānvitam |
alabdhadauhṛdā garbhe labhetātmani vā bhayam ||20||
yeṣu yeṣv indriyārtheṣu dauhṛde vai vimānanā |
prajāyeta sutasyārtis tasmiṃs tasmiṃs tathendriye ||21||
rājasandarśane yasyā daurhṛdaṃ jāyate striyāḥ |
arthavantaṃ mahābhāgaṃ kumāraṃ sā prasūyate ||22||
dukūlapaṭṭa kauśeya bhūṣaṇādiṣu dauhṛdāt |
alaṅkāraiṣiṇaṃ putraṃ lalitaṃ sā prasūyate ||23||
āśrame saṃyatātmānaṃ dharmaśīlaṃ prasūyate |
devatāpratimāyāṃ tu prasūte pārṣadopamam |
darśane vyālajātīnāṃ hiṃsāśīlaṃ prasūyate ||24||
godhāmāṃsāśane putraṃ suṣupsuṃ dhāraṇātmakam |
gavāṃ māṃse tu balinaṃ sarvakleśasahaṃ tathā ||25||
māhiṣe daurhṛdācchūraṃ raktākṣaṃ lomasaṃyutam |
varāhamāṃsāt svapnāluṃ śūraṃ sañjanayet sutam ||26||
mārgād vikrāntajaṅghālaṃ sadā vanacaraṃ sutam |
sṛmarād vignamanasaṃ nityabhītaṃ ca taittirāt ||27||
ato 'nukteṣu yā nārī samabhidhyāti daurhṛdam |
śarīrācāraśīlaiḥ sā samānaṃ janayiṣyati ||28||
karmaṇā coditaṃ jantor bhavitavyaṃ punar bhavet |
yathā tathā daivayogād daurhṛdaṃ janayed dhṛdi ||29||
pañcame manaḥ pratibuddhataraṃ bhavati, ṣaṣṭhe buddhiḥ, saptame
sarvāṅgapratyaṅgavibhāgaḥ pravyaktataraḥ; aṣṭame 'sthirībhavaty ojaḥ , tatra
jātaś cen na jīven nirojastvān nairṛtabhāgatvāc ca , tato baliṃ māṃsaudanam
asmai dāpayet; navamadaśamaikādaśadvādaśānām anyatamasmiñ jāyate, ato
'nyathā vikārī bhavati ||30||
mātus tu khalu rasavahāyāṃ nāḍyāṃ garbhanābhināḍī pratibaddhā, sāsya mātur
āhārarasavīryam abhivahati | tenopasnehenāsyābhivṛddhir bhavati |
asañjātāṅgapratyaṅgapravibhāgam ā niṣekāt prabhṛti
sarvaśarīrāvayavānusāriṇīnāṃ rasavahānāṃ tiryaggatānāṃ dhamanīnām upasneho
jīvayati ||31||
garbhasya khalu saṃbhavataḥ pūrvaṃ śiraḥ saṃbhavatīty āha śaunakaḥ,
śiromūlatvāt pradhānendriyāṇāṃ ; hṛdayam iti kṛtavīryo, buddher manasaś ca
sthānatvāt ; nābhir iti pārāśaryaḥ, tato hi vardhate deho dehinaḥ; pāṇipādam
iti mārkaṇḍeyaḥ, tanmūlatvāc ceṣṭāyā garbhasya; madhyaśarīram iti subhūtir
gautamaḥ, tannibaddhatvāt sarvagātrasaṃbhavasya | tat tu na samyak, sarvāṇy
aṅgapratyaṅgāni yugapat saṃbhavantīty āha dhanvantariḥ, garbhasya sūkṣmatvān
nopalabhyante vaṃśāṅkuravac cūtaphalavac ca; tad yathā --- cūtaphale
paripakve keśara māṃsāsthi majjānaḥ pṛthak pṛthag dṛśyante
kālaprakarṣāt, tāny eva taruṇe nopalabhyante sūkṣmatvāt ; teṣāṃ sūkṣmāṇāṃ
keśarādīnāṃ kālaḥ pravyaktatāṃ karoti; etenaiva vaṃśāṅkuro 'pi vyākhyātaḥ |
evaṃ garbhasya tāruṇye sarveṣv aṅgapratyaṅgeṣu satsv api saukṣmyād
anupalabdhiḥ, tāny eva kālaprakarṣāt pravyaktāni bhavanti ||32||
tatra garbhasya pitṛjamātṛja rasajātmaja sattvajasātmyajāni śarīralakṣaṇāni vyākhyāsyāmaḥ | garbhasya
keśaśmaśru lomāsthi nakha danta sirāsnāyudhamanī retaḥ prabhṛtīni sthirāṇi
pitṛjāni, māṃsaśoṇitamedomajja hṛnnābhi yakṛtplīhāntragudaprabhṛtīni mṛdūni mātṛjāni, śarīropacayo balaṃ
varṇaḥ sthitir hāniś ca rasajāni, indriyāṇi jñānaṃ vijñānam āyuḥ
sukhaduḥkhādikaṃ cātmajāni, sattvajāny uttaratra vakṣyāmaḥ, vīryam ārogyaṃ
balavarṇau medhā ca sātmyajāni ||33||
tatra yasyā dakṣiṇe stane prāk payodarśanaṃ bhavati dakṣiṇākṣimahattvaṃ ca
pūrvaṃ ca dakṣiṇaṃ sakthy utkarṣati bāhulyāc ca punnāmadheyeṣu dravyeṣu
daurhṛdam abhidhyāyati svapneṣu copalabhate padmotpalakumudāmrātakādīni
punnāmāny eva prasannamukhavarṇā ca bhavati tāṃ brūyāt putram iyaṃ
janayiṣyatīti, tadviparyaye kanyāṃ, yasyāḥ pārśvadvayam unnataṃ purastān
nirgatam udaraṃ prāg abhihitaṃ ca lakṣaṇaṃ ca tasyā napuṃsakam iti vidyāt,
yasyā madhye nimnaṃ droṇībhūtam udaraṃ sā yugmaṃ prasūyata iti ||34||
bhavanti cātra
devatābrāhmaṇaparāḥ śaucācārahite ratāḥ |
mahāguṇān prasūyante viparītās tu nirguṇān ||35||
aṅgapratyaṅganirvṛttiḥ svabhāvād eva jāyate |
aṅgapratyaṅganirvṛttau ye bhavanti guṇāguṇāḥ |
te te garbhasya vijñeyā dharmādharmanimittajāḥ ||36||
iti suśrutasaṃhitāyāṃ śārīrasthāne garbhāvakrāntiśārīraṃ nāma tṛtīyo
'dhyāyaḥ ||3||

agniḥ somo vāyuḥ sattvaṃ rajas tamaḥ pañcendriyāṇi bhūtātmeti prāṇāḥ ||3||
tasya khalv evaṃpravṛttasya śukraśoṇitasyābhipacyamānasya kṣīrasy eva
santānikāḥ sapta tvaco bhavanti | tāsāṃ prathamāvabhāsinī nāma, yā sarvān
varṇān avabhāsayati pañcavidhāṃ ca chāyāṃ prakāśayati, sā vrīher
aṣṭādaśabhāgapramāṇā, sidhmapadmakaṇṭakādhiṣṭhānā; dvitīyā lohitā nāma,
ṣoḍaśabhāgapramāṇā, tilakālakanyacchavyaṅgādhiṣṭhānā; tṛtīyā śvetā nāma,
dvādaśabhāgapramāṇā, carmadalājagallīmaṣakādhiṣṭhānā; caturthī tāmrā
nāmāṣṭabhāgapramāṇā, vividhakilāsakuṣṭhādhiṣṭhānā; pañcamī vedinī nāma
pañcabhāgapramāṇā, kuṣṭhavisarpādhiṣṭhānā; ṣaṣṭhī rohiṇī nāma vrīhipramāṇā,
granthyapacyarbudaślīpadagalagaṇḍādhiṣṭhānā; saptamī māṃsadharā nāma
vrīhidvayapramāṇā, bhagandaravidradhyarśo 'dhiṣṭhānā | yad etat pramāṇaṃ
nirdiṣṭaṃ tan māṃsaleṣv avakāśeṣu, na lalāṭe sūkṣmāṅgulyādiṣu ca; yato
vakṣyaty udareṣu --- ‘vrīhimukhenāṅguṣṭhodarapramāṇam avagāḍhaṃ vidhyet’
(ci.14) iti ||4||
kalāḥ khalv api sapta bhavanti dhātvāśayāntaramaryādāḥ ||5||
bhavataś cātra --
yathā hi sāraḥ kāṣṭheṣu chidyamāneṣu dṛśyate |
tathā hi dhātur māṃseṣu chidyamāneṣu dṛśyate ||6||
snāyubhiś ca praticchannān santatāṃś ca jarāyuṇā |
śleṣmaṇā veṣṭitāṃś cāpi kalābhāgāṃs tu tān viduḥ ||7||
tāsāṃ prathamā māṃsadharā, yasyāṃ māṃse sirāsnāyudhamanīsrotasāṃ pratānā
bhavanti ||8||
yathā bisamṛṇālāni vivardhante samantataḥ |
bhūmau paṅkodakasthāni tathā māṃse sirādayaḥ ||9||
dvitīyā raktadharā māṃsasyābhyantarataḥ, tasyāṃ śoṇitaṃ viśeṣataś ca sirāsu
yakṛtplīhnoś ca bhavati ||10||
vṛkṣādyathābhiprahatāt kṣīriṇaḥ kṣīrim āvahet |
māṃsād evaṃ kṣatāt kṣipraṃ śoṇitaṃ saṃprasicyate ||11||
tṛtīyā medodharā; medo hi sarvabhūtānām udarastham aṇvasthiṣu ca, mahatsu
ca majjā bhavati ||12||
sthūlāsthiṣu viśeṣeṇa majjā tv abhyantarāśritaḥ |
athetareṣu sarveṣu saraktaṃ meda ucyate |
śuddhamāṃsasya yaḥ snehaḥ sā vasā parikīrtitā ||13||
caturthī śleṣmadharā sarva sandhiṣu prāṇabhṛtāṃ bhavati ||14||
snehābhyakte yathā hy akṣe cakraṃ sādhu pravartate |
sandhayaḥ sādhu vartante saṃśliṣṭāḥ śleṣmaṇā tathā ||15||
pañcamī purīṣadharā nāma; yāntaḥkoṣṭhe malam abhivibhajate pakvāśayasthā
||16||
yakṛtsamantāt koṣṭhaṃ ca tathāntrāṇi samāśritā |
uṇḍu(ndu)kasthaṃ vibhajate malaṃ maladharā kalā ||17||
ṣaṣṭhī pittadharā ; yā caturvidham annapānam āmāśayāt pracyutaṃ
pakvāśayopasthitaṃ dhārayati ||18||
aśitaṃ khāditaṃ pītaṃ līḍhaṃ koṣṭhagataṃ nṛṇām |
taj jīryati yathākālaṃ śoṣitaṃ pittatejasā ||19||
saptamī śukradharā, yā sarvaprāṇināṃ sarvaśarīravyāpinī ||20||
yathā payasi sarpis tu gūḍhaś cekṣau raso yathā |
śarīreṣu tathā śukraṃ nṛṇāṃ vidyād bhiṣagvaraḥ ||21||
dvyaṅgule dakṣiṇe pārśve bastidvārasya cāpy adhaḥ |
mūtrasrotaḥpathāc chukraṃ puruṣasya pravartate ||22||
kṛtsnadehāśritaṃ śukraṃ prasannamanasas tathā |
strīṣu vyāyacchataś cāpi harṣāt tat saṃpravartate ||23||
gṛhītagarbhāṇāmārtavavahānāṃ srotasāṃ vartmāny avarudhyante garbheṇa,
tasmād gṛhītagarbhāṇāmārtavaṃ na dṛśyate; tatastadadhaḥ
pratihatamūrdhvamāgatamaparaṃ copacīyamānam aparety abhidhīyate ; śeṣaṃ
cordhvataramāgataṃ payodharāvabhipratipadyate, tasmād garbhiṇyaḥ
pīnonnatapayodharā bhavanti ||24||
garbhasya yakṛtplīhānau śoṇitajau, śoṇitaphenaprabhavaḥ phupphusaḥ ,
śoṇitakiṭṭaprabhava uṇḍukaḥ ||25||
asṛjaḥ śleṣmaṇaś cāpi yaḥ prasādaḥ paro mataḥ |
taṃ pacyamānaṃ pittena vāyuś cāpy anudhāvati ||26||
tato 'syāntrāṇi jāyante gudaṃ bastiś ca dehinaḥ |
udare pacyamānānām ādhmānād rukmasāravat ||27||
kaphaśoṇitamāṃsānāṃ sārāj jihvā prajāyate |
yathārthamūṣmaṇā yukto vāyuḥ srotāṃsi dārayet ||28||
anupraviśya piśitaṃ peśīrvibhajate tathā |
medasaḥ snehamādāya sirāsnāyutvam āpnuyāt ||29||
sirāṇāṃ tu mṛduḥ pākaḥ snāyūnāṃ ca tataḥ kharaḥ |
āśayyābhyāsayogena karoty āśayasaṃbhavam ||30||
raktamedaḥprasādādvṛkkau; māṃsāsṛkkaphamedaḥprasādād vṛṣaṇau;
śoṇitakaphaprasādajaṃ hṛdayaṃ, yadāśrayā hi dhamanyaḥ prāṇavahāḥ; tasyādho
vāmataḥ plīhā phupphusaś ca, dakṣiṇato yakṛt kloma ca; tad viśeṣeṇa
cetanāsthānam, atas tasmiṃs tamasāvṛte sarvaprāṇinaḥ svapanti ||31||
bhavati cātra --
puṇḍarīkeṇa sadṛśaṃ hṛdayaṃ syād adhomukham |
jāgratas tad vikasati svapataś ca nimīlati ||32||
nidrāṃ tu vaiṣṇavīṃ pāpmānam upadiśanti, sā svabhāvata eva sarvaprāṇino
'bhis pṛśati | tatra yadā saṃjñāvahāni srotāṃsi tamobhūyiṣṭhaḥ śleṣmā
pratipadyate tadā tāmasī nāma nidrā saṃbhavaty anavabodhinī, sā pralayakāle;
tamobhūyiṣṭhānām ahaḥsu niśāsu ca bhavati, rajobhūyiṣṭhānāmanimittaṃ,
sattvabhūyiṣṭhānāmardharātre; kṣīṇaśleṣmaṇām anilabahulānāṃ
manaḥśarīrābhitāpavatāṃ ca naiva, sā vaikārikī bhavati ||33||
bhavataś cātra --
hṛdayaṃ cetanāsthānam uktaṃ suśruta ! dehinām |
tamo 'bhibhūte tasmiṃs tu nidrā viśati dehinam ||34||
nidrāhetustamaḥ, sattvaṃ bodhane hetur ucyate |
svabhāva eva vā heturgarīyān parikīrtyate ||35||
pūrvadehānubhūtāṃs tu bhūtātmā svapataḥ prabhuḥ |
rajoyuktena manasā gṛhṇāty arthāñ śubhāśubhān ||36||
karaṇānāṃ tu vaikalye tamasābhipravardhite |
asvapann api bhūtātmā prasupta iva cocyate ||37||
sarvartuṣu divāsvāpaḥ pratiṣiddho 'nyatra grīṣmāt, pratiṣiddheṣv api tu
bālavṛddhastrīkarśitakṣatakṣīṇamadyanityayānavāhanādhvakarmapariśrāntānāmabhuktavatāṃ
medaḥsvedakapharasaraktakṣīṇānāmajīrṇināṃ ca muhūrtaṃ
divāsvapanamapratiṣiddham | rātrāv api jāgaritavatāṃ
jāgaritakālādardhamiṣyate divāsvapanam | vikṛtirhi divāsvapno nāma; tatra
svapatāmadharmaḥ sarvadoṣaprakopaś ca, tatprakopācca
kāsaśvāsapratiśyāyaśirogauravāṅgamardārocakajvarāgnidaurbalyāni bhavanti;
rātrāv api jāgaritavatāṃ vātapittanimittāsta evopadravā bhavanti ||38||
bhavanti cātra
tasmān na jāgṛyād rātrau divāsvapnaṃ ca varjayet |
jñātvā doṣakarāvetau budhaḥ svapnaṃ mitaṃ caret ||39||
arogaḥ sumanā hyevaṃ balavarṇānvito vṛṣaḥ |
nātisthūlakṛśaḥ śrīmān naro jīvet samāḥ śatam ||40||
(nidrā sātmyīkṛtā yais tu rātrau ca yadi vā divā|)
divārātrau ca ye nityaṃ svapnajāgaraṇocitāḥ |
na teṣāṃ svapatāṃ doṣo jāgratāṃ vāpi jāyate ||41||
nidrānāśo 'nilāt pittānmanastāpāt kṣayād api |
saṃbhavaty abhighātāc ca pratyanīkaiḥ praśāmyati ||42||
nidrānāśe 'bhyaṅgayogo mūrdhni tailaniṣevaṇam |
gātrasyodvartanaṃ caiva hitaṃ saṃvāhanāni ca ||43||
śāligodhūmapiṣṭānnabhakṣyair aikṣavasaṃskṛtaiḥ |
bhojanaṃ madhuraṃ snigdhaṃ kṣīramāṃsarasādibhiḥ ||44||
rasair bileśayānāṃ ca viṣkirāṇāṃ tathaiva ca |
drākṣāsitekṣudravyāṇām upayogo bhavenniśi ||45||
śayanāsanayānāni manojñāni mṛdūni ca |
nidrānāśe tu kurvīta tathānyāny api buddhimān ||46||
nidrātiyoge vamanaṃ hitaṃ saṃśodhanāni ca |
laṅghanaṃ raktamokṣaś ca manovyākulanāni ca ||47||
kaphamedoviṣārtānāṃ rātrau jāgaraṇaṃ hitam |48|
divāsvapnaś ca tṛṭśūlahikkājīrṇātisāriṇām ||48||
indriyārtheṣv asaṃprāptir gauravaṃ jṛmbhaṇaṃ klamaḥ |
nidrārtasyeva yasyehā tasya tandrāṃ vinirdiśet ||49||
pītvaikamanilocchvāsamudveṣṭan vivṛtānanaḥ |
yaṃ muñcati sanetrāsraṃ sa jṛmbha iti saṃjñitaḥ ||50||
yo 'nāyāsaḥ śramo dehe pravṛddhaḥ śvāsavarjitaḥ |
klamaḥ sa iti vijñeya indriyārthaprabādhakaḥ ||51||
sukhasparśaprasaṅgitvaṃ duḥkhadveṣaṇalolatā |
śaktasya cāpy anutsāhaḥ karmasv ālasyam ucyate ||52||
utkliśyānnaṃ na nirgacchet prasekaṣṭhīvaneritam |
hṛdayaṃ pīḍyate cāsya tamutkleśaṃ vinirdiśet ||53||
vaktre madhuratā tandrā hṛdayodveṣṭanaṃ bhramaḥ |
na cānnamabhikāṅkṣeta glāniṃ tasya vinirdiśet ||54||
ārdracarmāvanaddhaṃ vā yo gātraṃ manyate naraḥ |
tathā guru śiro 'tyarthaṃ gauravaṃ tad vinirdiśet ||55||
mūrcchā pittatamaḥprāyā, rajaḥpittānilādbhramaḥ |
tamovātakaphāttandrā, nidrā śleṣmatamobhavā ||56||
garbhasya khalu rasanimittā mārutādhmānanimittā ca parivṛddhir bhavati

bhavanti cātra
tasyāntareṇa nābhes tu jyotiḥsthānaṃ dhruvaṃ smṛtam |
tad ādhamati vātas tu dehas tenāsya vardhate ||58||
ūṣmaṇā sahitaś cāpi dārayaty asya mārutaḥ |
ūrdhvaṃ tiryagadhastāc ca srotāṃsy api yathā tathā ||59||
dṛṣṭiś ca romakūpāś ca na vardhante kadācana |
dhruvāṇy etāni martyānām iti dhanvantarer matam ||60||
śarīre kṣīyamāṇe 'pi vardhete dvāvimau sadā |
svabhāvaṃ prakṛtiṃ kṛtvā nakhakeśāv iti sthitiḥ ||61||
sapta prakṛtayo bhavanti --- doṣaiḥ pṛthak, dviśaḥ, samastaiś ca ||62||
śukraśoṇitasaṃyoge yo bhaved doṣa utkaṭaḥ |
prakṛtir jāyate tena tasyā me lakṣaṇaṃ śṛṇu ||63||
tatra vātaprakṛtiḥ prajāgarūkaḥ śītadveṣī durbhagaḥ steno matsaryanāryo
gāndharvacittaḥ sphuṭitakaracaraṇo 'lparūkṣaśmaśrunakhakeśaḥ krāthī
dantakhādī ca bhavati ||64||
adhṛtiradṛḍhasauhṛdaḥ kṛtaghnaḥ kṛśaparuṣo dhamanītataḥ pralāpī |
drutagatiraṭano 'navasthitātmā viyati ca gacchati saṃbhrameṇa suptaḥ

avyavasthitamatiś caladṛṣṭir mandaratnadhanasaṃcayamitraḥ |
kiṃcid eva vilapaty anibaddhaṃ mārutaprakṛtir eṣa manuṣyaḥ ||66||
(vātikāś cājagomāyuśaśākhūṣṭraśunāṃ tathā |
gṛdhrakākakharādīnām anūkaiḥ kīrtitā narāḥ) ||67||
pittaprakṛtis tu svedano durgandhaḥ
pītaśithilāṅgastāmranakhanayanatālujihvauṣṭhapāṇipādatalo durbhago
valīpalitakhālity ajuṣṭo bahubhuguṣṇadveṣī kṣiprakopaprasādo madhyabalo
madhyāyuś ca bhavati ||68||
medhāvī nipuṇamatir vigṛhya
vaktā tejasvī samitiṣu durnivāravīryaḥ |
suptaḥ san kanakapalāśakarṇikārān
saṃpaśyed api ca hutāśavidyudulkāḥ ||69||
na bhayāt praṇamed anateṣv amṛduḥ praṇateṣv api sāntvanadānaruciḥ |

rajjavaḥ sevanyaḥ saṃghātāḥ sīmantā asthīni sandhayaḥ snāyavaḥ peśyo marmāṇi

tvacaḥ sapta, kalāḥ sapta, āśayāḥ sapta, dhātavaḥ sapta, sapta sirāśatāni,

saṃdhiśate, saptottaraṃ marmaśataṃ, caturviṃśatirdhamanyaḥ, trayo doṣāḥ,
trayo malāḥ, nava srotāṃsi, (ṣoḍaśa kaṇḍarāḥ, ṣoḍaśa jālāni, ṣaṭ kūrcāḥ,
catasro rajjavaḥ, sapta sevanyaḥ, caturdaśa saṃghātāḥ, caturdaśa sīmantāḥ,
dvāviṃśatir yogavahāni srotāṃsi, dvikānyantrāṇi ) ceti samāsaḥ ||6||
vistāro 'ta ūrdhvaṃ --- tvaco 'bhihitāḥ kalā dhātavo malā doṣā

āśayās tu --- vātāśayaḥ, pittāśayaḥ, śleṣmāśayo, raktāśaya, āmāśayaḥ,
pakvāśayo, mūtrāśayaḥ , strīṇāṃ garbhāśayo 'ṣṭama iti ||8||
sārdhatrivyāmānyantrāṇi puṃsāṃ, strīṇāmardhavyāmahīnāni ||9||
śravaṇanayanavadanaghrāṇagudameḍhrāṇi nava srotāṃsi narāṇāṃ bahirmukhāni,
etāny eva strīṇāmaparāṇi ca trīṇi dve stanayor adhastādraktavahaṃ ca ||10||
ṣoḍaśa kaṇḍarāḥ --- tāsāṃ catasraḥ pādayoḥ, tāvatyo hastagrīvāpṛṣṭheṣu;
tatra hastapādagatānāṃ kaṇḍarāṇāṃ nakhā agraprarohāḥ,
grīvāhṛdayanibandhinīnām adhobhāgagatānāṃ meḍhraṃ, śroṇipṛṣṭhanibandhinīnām
adhobhāgagatānāṃ bimbaṃ , mūrdhoruvakṣoṃ 'sapiṇḍādīnāṃ ca ||11||
māṃsasirāsnāyvasthijālāni pratyekaṃ catvāri; tāni
maṇibandhagulphasaṃśritāni parasparanibaddhāni parasparagavākṣitāni ceti,
yairgavākṣitamidaṃ śarīram ||12||
ṣaṭ kūrcāḥ, te hastapādagrīvāmeḍhreṣu; hastayor dvau, pādayor dvau,
grīvāmeḍhrayor ekaikaḥ ||13||
mahatyo māṃsarajjavaś catasraḥ --- pṛṣṭhavaṃśamubhayataḥ
peśīnibandhanārthaṃ dve bāhye, ābhyantare ca dve ||14||
sapta sevanyaḥ ; sirasi vibhaktāḥ pañca, jihvāśephasor ekaikā; tāḥ
parihartavyāḥ śastreṇa ||15||
caturdaśāsthnāṃ saṃghātāḥ; teṣāṃ trayo gulphajānuvaṅkṣaṇeṣu,
etenetarasakthi bāhū ca vyākhyātau, trikaśirasor ekaikaḥ ||16||
caturdaśaiva sīmantāḥ; te cāsthisaṅghātavadgaṇanīyāḥ, yatas tair yuktā
asthisaṃghātāḥ; ye hy uktāḥ saṃghātās te khalv aṣṭādaśaikeṣām ||17||
trīṇi saṣaṣṭāny asthiśatāni vedavādino bhāṣante; śalyatantreṣu tu trīṇy eva
śatāni | teṣāṃ saviṃśam asthiśataṃ śākhāsu, saptadaśottaraṃ śataṃ
śroṇipārśvapṛṣṭhoraḥsu, grīvāṃ praty ūrdhvaṃ triṣaṣṭiḥ, evam asthnāṃ trīṇi
śatāni pūryante ||18||
ekaikasyāṃ tu pādāṅgulyāṃ trīṇi trīṇi tāni pañcadaśa,
talakūrcagulphasaṃśritāni daśa, pārṣṇyām ekaṃ, jaṅghāyāṃ dve, jānuny ekam,
ekam ūrāv iti, triṃśadevam ekasmin sakthni bhavanti, etenetarasakthi bāhū ca
vyākhyātau; śroṇyāṃ pañca, teṣāṃ gudabhaganitambeṣu catvāri, trikasaṃśritam
ekaṃ, pārśve ṣaṭtriṃśad ekasmin , dvitīye 'pyevaṃ, pṛṣṭhe triṃśat,
aṣṭāvurasi , dve aṃsaphalake ; grīvāyāṃ nava, kaṇṭhanāḍyāṃ catvāri, dve
hanvoḥ , dantā dvātriṃśat, nāsāyāṃ trīṇi, ekaṃ tāluni, gaṇḍakarṇaśaṅkheṣv
ekaikaṃ, ṣaṭ śirasīti ||19||
etāni pañcavidhāni bhavanti; tad yathā-
kapālarucakataruṇavalayanalakasaṃjñāni | teṣāṃ
jānunitambāṃsagaṇḍatāluśaṅkhaśiraḥsu kapālāni, daśanās tu rucakāni ,
ghrāṇakarṇagrīvākṣikoṣeṣu taruṇāni, pārśvapṛṣṭhoraḥsu valayāni , śeṣāṇi
nalakasaṃjñāni ||20||
bhavanti cātra
abhyantaragataiḥ sārair yathā tiṣṭhanti bhūruhāḥ |
asthisārais tathā dehā dhriyante dehināṃ dhruvam ||21||
tasmāc ciravinaṣṭeṣu tvaṅmāṃseṣu śarīriṇām |
asthīni na vinaśyanti sārāṇy etāni dehinām || 22||
māṃsāny atra nibaddhāni sirābhiḥ snāyubhis tathā |
asthīny ālambanaṃ kṛtvā na śīryante patanti vā ||23||
sandhayas tu dvividhāś ceṣṭāvantaḥ , sthirāś ca ||24||
śākhāsu hanvoḥ kaṭyāṃ ca ceṣṭāvantas tu sandhayaḥ |
śeṣās tu sandhayaḥ sarve vijñeyā hi sthirā budhaiḥ ||25||
saṅkhyātas tu daśottare dve śate | teṣāṃ śākhāsvaṣṭaṣaṣṭiḥ, ekonaṣaṣṭiḥ
koṣṭhe, grīvāṃ pratyūrdhvaṃ tryaśītiḥ | ekaikasyāṃ pādāṅgulyāṃ trayas
trayaḥ, dvāvaṅguṣṭhe, te caturdaśa; jānugulphavaṅkṣaṇeṣv ekaikaḥ, evaṃ
saptadaśaikasmin sakthni bhavanti; etenetarasakthi bāhū ca vyākhyātau;
trayaḥ kaṭīkapāleṣu, caturviṃśatiḥ pṛṣṭhavaṃśe, tāvanta eva pārśvayoḥ, urasy
aṣṭau; tāvanta eva grīvāyāṃ, trayaḥ kaṇṭhe, nāḍīṣu
hṛdayaklomanibaddhāsvaṣṭādaśa, dantaparimāṇā dantamūleṣu, ekaḥ kākalake
nāsāyāṃ ca, dvau vartmamaṇḍalayor netrāśrayau, gaṇḍakarṇaśaṅkheṣv ekaikaḥ,
dvau hanusandhī, dvāv upariṣṭād bhruvoḥ śaṅkhayoś ca, pañca śiraḥkapāleṣu,
eko mūrdhni ||26||
ta ete sandhayo 'ṣṭavidhāḥ-
korolūkhalasāmudgaprataratunnasevanīvāyasatuṇḍamaṇḍalaśaṅkhāvartāḥ | teṣām
aṅgulimaṇibandhagulphajānukūrpareṣu korāḥ sandhayaḥ,
kakṣāvaṅkṣaṇadaśaneṣūlūkhalāḥ, aṃsapīṭhagudabhaganitambeṣu sāmudgāḥ,
grīvāpṛṣṭhavaṃśayoḥ pratarāḥ, śiraḥkaṭīkapāleṣu tunnasevanyaḥ, hanvor
ubhayatas tu vāyasatuṇḍāḥ, kaṇṭhahṛdayanetraklomanāḍīṣu maṇḍalāḥ,
śrotraśṛṅgāṭakeṣu śaṅkhāvartāḥ | teṣāṃ nāmabhir evākṛtayaḥ prāyeṇa
vyākhyātāḥ ||27||
asthnāṃ tu sandhayo hyete kevalāḥ parikīrtitāḥ |
peśīsnāyusirāṇāṃ tu sandhisaṅkhyā na vidyate ||28||
nava snāyuśatāni | tāsāṃ śākhāsu ṣaṭśatāni, dve śate triṃśac ca koṣṭhe,
grīvāṃ pratyūrdhvaṃ saptatiḥ | ekaikasyāṃ tu pādāṅgulyāṃ ṣaṇ nicitās tās
triṃśat , tāvatya eva talakūrcagulpheṣu, tāvatya eva jaṅghāyāṃ, daśa jānuni,
catvāriṃśadūrau, daśa vaṅkṣaṇe, śatam adhyardham evam ekasmin sakthni
bhavanti; etenetarasakthi bahū ca vyākhyātau; ṣaṣṭiḥ kaṭyāṃ, pṛṣṭhe 'śītiḥ,
pārśvayoḥ ṣaṣṭiḥ, urasi triṃśat; ṣaṭtriṃśadgrīvāyāṃ, mūrdhni catustriṃśat;
evaṃ nava snāyuśatāni vyākhyātāni bhavanti ||29||

snāyūś caturvidhā vidyāt tās tu sarvā nibodha me |
pratānavatyo vṛttāś ca pṛthvyaś ca śuṣirās tathā ||30||
pratānavatyaḥ śākhāsu sarvasandhiṣu cāpy atha |
vṛttās tu kaṇḍarāḥ sarvā vijñeyāḥ kuśalairiha ||31||
āmapakvāśayānteṣu bastau ca śuṣirāḥ khalu |
pārśvorasi tathā pṛṣṭhe pṛthulāś ca śirasyatha ||32||
nauryathā phalakāstīrṇā bandhanairbahubhir yutā |
bhārakṣamā bhaved apsu nṛyuktā susamāhitā ||33||
evam eva śarīre 'smin yāvantaḥ sandhayaḥ smṛtāḥ |
snāyubhir bahubhir baddhāstena bhārasahā narāḥ ||34||
na hy asthīni na vā peśyo na sirā na ca sandhayaḥ |
vyāpāditās tathā hanyuryathā snāyuḥ śarīriṇam ||35||
yaḥ snāyūḥ pravijānāti bāhyāś cābhyantarās tathā |
sa gūḍhaṃ śalyamāhartuṃ dehācchaknoti dehinām ||36||
pañca peśīśatāni bhavanti | tāsāṃ catvāri śatāni śākhāsu, koṣṭhe ṣaṭṣaṣṭiḥ,
grīvāṃ pratyūrdhvaṃ catustriṃśat | ekaikasyāṃ tu pādāṅgulyāṃ tisrastisrastāḥ
pañcadaśa, daśa prapade, pādopari kūrcasanniviṣṭāstāvatya eva, daśa
gulphatalayoḥ, gulphajānvantare viṃśatiḥ, pañca jānuni, viṃśatir ūrau , daśa
vaṅkṣaṇe, śatam evam ekasmin sakthni bhavati; etenetarasakthi bāhū ca
vyākhyātau; tisraḥ pāyau, ekā meḍhre, sevanyāṃ cāparā, dve vṛṣaṇayoḥ ,
sphicoḥ pañca pañca, dve bastiśirasi, pañcodare , nābhyāmekā,
pṛṣṭhordhvasanniviṣṭāḥ pañca pañca dīrghāḥ, ṣaṭ pārśvayoḥ, daśa vakṣasi,
akṣakāṃsau prati samantāt sapta, dve hṛdayāmāśayayoḥ, ṣaṭ
yakṛtplīhoṇḍu(ndu)keṣu; grīvāyāṃ catasraḥ, aṣṭau hanvoḥ , ekaikā
kākalakagalayoḥ, dve tāluni, ekā jihvāyāṃ, dve oṣṭhayoḥ, dve nāsāyāṃ , dve
netrayoḥ, gaṇḍayoś catasraḥ, karṇayor dve, catasro lalāṭe, ekā śirasīti ;
evam etāni pañca peśīśatāni ||37||
bhavati cātra --
sirāsnāyvasthiparvāṇi sandhayaś ca śarīriṇām |
peśībhiḥ saṃvṛtānyatra balavanti bhavantyataḥ ||38||
strīṇāṃ tu viṃśatir adhikā | daśa tāsāṃ stanayor ekaikasmin pañca pañceti,
yauvane tāsāṃ parivṛddhiḥ; apatyapathe catasraḥ --- tāsāṃ prasṛte
abhyantarato dve, mukhāśrite bāhye ca vṛtte dve,
garbhacchidrasaṃśritāstisraḥ, śukrārtavapraveśinyas tisra eva |
pittapakvāśayayor madhye garbhaśayyā, yatra garbhas tiṣṭhati ||39||

bahalapelavasthūlāṇupṛthuvṛttahrasvadīrghasthiramṛduślakṣṇakarkaśabhāvāḥ

puṃsāṃ peśyaḥ purastād yāḥ proktā lakṣaṇamuṣkajāḥ |

tatsaṃsthānāṃ tathārūpāṃ garbhaśayyāṃ vidurbudhāḥ ||44||
ābhugno 'bhimukhaḥ śete garbho garbhāśaye striyāḥ |
sa yoniṃ śirasā yāti svabhāvāt prasavaṃ prati ||45||
tvakparyantasya dehasya yo 'yam aṅgaviniścayaḥ |
śalyajñānād ṛte naiṣa varṇyate 'ṅgeṣu keṣucit ||46||
tasmān niḥsaṃśayaṃ jñānaṃ hartrā śalyasya vāñchatā |
śodhayitvā mṛtaṃ samyag draṣṭavyo 'ṅgaviniścayaḥ ||47||

tasmāt samastagātram aviṣopahatam adīrghavyādhipīḍitam avarṣaśatikaṃ
niḥsṛṣṭāntrapurīṣaṃ puruṣam āvahanty āmāpagāyāṃ nibaddhaṃ pañjarasthaṃ
muñja valkala kuśa śaṇādīnām
anyatamenāveṣṭitāṅgam aprakāśe deśe kothayet, samyak prakuthitaṃ coddhṛtya,
tato dehaṃ saptarātrād uśīra bāla veṇu balvaja kūrcānām anyatamena śanaiḥ śanair avagharṣayaṃs
tvagādīn sarvān eva bāhyābhyantarān aṅgapratyaṅgaviśeṣān yathoktān lakṣayec
cakṣuṣā ||49||

māṃsamarmāṇi, sirāmarmāṇi, snāyumarmāṇi, asthimarmāṇi, sandhimarmāṇi ceti |
na khalu māṃsasirāsnāyvasthisandhivyatirekeṇānyāni marmāṇi bhavanti, yasmān
nopalabhyante ||3||
tatraikādaśa māṃsamarmāṇi, ekacatvāriṃśat sirāmarmāṇi, saptaviṃśatiḥ
snāyumarmāṇi, aṣṭāv asthimarmāṇi, viṃśatiḥ sandhimarmāṇi ceti | tad etat
saptottaraṃ marmaśatam ||4||
teṣām ekādaśaikasmin sakthni bhavanti, etenetarasakthi bāhū ca vyākhyātau,

śipratalahṛdayakūrcakūrcaśiromaṇibandhendrabastikūrparāṇyurvīlohitākṣāṇi
kakṣadharaṃ ceti; etenetaro bāhurvyākhyātaḥ | jatruṇa ūrdhvaṃ catasro
dhamanyo 'ṣṭau mātṛkā dve kṛkāṭike dve vidhure dve phaṇe dvāv apāṅgau dvāv
āvartau dvāv utkṣepau dvau śaṅkhāv ekā sthapanī pañca sīmantāś catvāri
śṛṅgāṭakāny eko 'dhipatir iti ||6||
tatra talahṛdayendrabastigudastanarohitāni māṃsamarmāṇi,
nīladhamanīmātṛkāśṛṅgāṭakāpāṅgasthapanīphaṇastanamūlāpalāpāpastambhahṛdayanābhipārśvasandhibṛhatīlohitākṣorvyaḥ
sirāmarmāṇi,
āṇī(ṇi)viṭapakakṣadharakūrcakūrcaśirobastikṣiprāṃsavidhurotkṣepāḥ
snāyumarmāṇi, kaṭīkataruṇanitambāṃsaphalakaśaṅkhāstvasthimarmāṇi,
jānukūrparasīmantādhipatigulphamaṇibandhakukundarāvartakṛkāṭikāś ceti
sandhimarmāṇi ||7||
tāny etāni pañcavikalpāni bhavanti; tad yathā - -- sadyaḥprāṇaharāṇi,
kālāntaraprāṇaharāṇi, viśalyaghnāni, vaikalyakarāṇi, rujākarāṇi ceti | tatra
sadyaḥprāṇaharāṇy ekonaviṃśatiḥ, kālāntaraprāṇaharāṇi trayastriṃśat, trīṇi
viśalyaghnāni, catuścatvāriṃśad vaikalyakarāṇi, aṣṭau rujākarāṇīti ||8||
bhavanti cātra
śṛṅgāṭakāny adhipatiḥ śaṅkhau kaṇṭhasirā gudam |
hṛdayaṃ bastinābhyau(bhī) ca ghnanti sadyo hatāni tu ||9||
vakṣomarmāṇi sīmantatalakṣiprendrabastayaḥ |
kaṭīkataruṇe sandhī pārśvajau bṛhatī ca yā ||10||
nitambāv iti caitāni kālāntaraharāṇi tu |
utkṣepau sthapanī caiva viśalyaghnāni nirdiśet ||11||
lohitākṣāṇi jānūrvīkūrcaviṭapakūrparāḥ |
kukundare kakṣadhare vidhure sakṛkāṭike ||12||

marmāṇi māṃsasirāsnāyvasthisandhisannipātāḥ; teṣu svabhāvata eva viśeṣeṇa
prāṇās tiṣṭhanti; tasmān marmasv abhihatās tāṃs tān bhāvān āpadyante ||15||
tatra sadyaḥprāṇaharāṇyāgneyāni, agniguṇeṣvāśu kṣīṇeṣu kṣapayanti;
kālāntaraprāṇaharāṇi saumyāgneyāni, agniguṇeṣvāśu kṣīṇeṣu krameṇa ca
somaguṇeṣu kālāntareṇa kṣapayanti; viśalyaprāṇaharāṇi vāyavyāni,
śalyamukhāvaruddho yāvad antarvāyus tiṣṭhati tāva jīvati, uddhṛtamātre tu
śalye marmasthānāśrito vāyurniṣkrāmati, tasmāt saśalyo jīvatyuddhṛtaśalyo
mriyate (pākātpatitaśalyo vā jīvati); vaikalyakarāṇi saumyāni, somo hi
sthiratvāc chaityāc ca prāṇāvalambanaṃ karoti;
rujākarāṇyagnivāyuguṇabhūyiṣṭhāni, viśeṣataś ca tau rujākarau;
pāñcabhautikīṃ ca rujām āhur eke ||16||
kecid āhur māṃsādīnāṃ pañcānām api samastānāṃ vivṛddhānāṃ samavāyāt
sadyaḥprāṇaharāṇi, ekahīnānām alpānāṃ vā kālāntaraprāṇaharāṇi, dvihīnānāṃ
viśalyaprāṇaharāṇi , trihīnānāṃ vaikalyakarāṇi, ekasminn eva rujākarāṇīti |
naivaṃ, yato 'sthimarmasvapyabhihateṣu śoṇitāgamanaṃ bhavati ||17||
caturvidhā yās tu sirāḥ śarīre prāyeṇa tā marmasu sanniviṣṭāḥ |
snāyvasthimāṃsāni tathaiva sandhīn santarpya dehaṃ prati yāpayanti ||18||
tataḥ kṣate marmaṇi tāḥ pravṛddhaḥ samantato vāyur abhistṛṇoti |
vivardhamānas tu sa mātariśvā rujaḥ sutīvrāḥ pratanoti kāye ||19||
rujābhibhūtaṃ tu tataḥ śarīraṃ pralīyate naśyati cāsya saṃjñā |
ato hi śalyaṃ vinihartumicchanmarmāṇi yatnena parīkṣya karṣet ||20||
etena śeṣaṃ vyākhyātam ||21||
tatra sadyaḥprāṇaharam ante viddhaṃ kālāntareṇa mārayati,
kālāntaraprāṇaharam ante viddhaṃ vaikalyam āpādayati, viśalyaghnaṃ
vaikalyakaraṃ ca bhavati, vaikalyakaraṃ kālāntareṇa kleśayati rujāṃ ca
karoti, rujākaram atīvravedanaṃ bhavati ||22||
tatra sadyaḥprāṇaharāṇi saptarātrābhyantarān mārayanti,
kālāntaraprāṇaharāṇi pakṣān māsād vā, teṣv api tu kṣiprāṇi kadācid āśu
mārayanti, viśalyaprāṇaharāṇi vaikalyakarāṇi ca kadācid atyabhihatāni
mārayanti ||23||
ata ūrdhvaṃ sakthimarmāṇi vyākhyāsyāmaḥ --- tatra pādasyāṅguṣṭhāṅgulyor
madhye kṣipraṃ nāma marma, tatra viddhasyākṣepakeṇa maraṇaṃ; madhyamāṅgulīm
anupūrveṇa madhye pādatalasya talahṛdayaṃ nāma , tatra rujābhir maraṇaṃ;
kṣiprasyopariṣṭād ubhayataḥ kūrco nāma, tatra pādasya bhramaṇavepane
bhavataḥ; gulphasandher adha ubhayataḥ kūrcaśiraḥ, tatra rujāśophau;
pādajaṅghayoḥ sandhāne gulphaḥ, tatra rujaḥ stabdhapādatā khañjatā vā;
pārṣṇiṃ prati jaṅghāmadhye indrabastiḥ, tatra śoṇitakṣayeṇa maraṇaṃ;
jaṅghorvoḥ sandhāne jānu, tatra khañjatā; jānuna ūrdhvam ubhayatas
tryaṅgulamāṇī , tatra śophābhivṛddhiḥ stabdhasakthitā ca; ūrumadhye urvī,
tatra śoṇitakṣayāt sakthiśoṣaḥ; urvyā ūrdhvam adho vaṅkṣaṇasandher ūrumūle
lohitākṣaṃ, tatra lohitakṣayeṇa maraṇaṃ pakṣāghāto vā; vaṅkṣaṇavṛṣaṇayor
antare viṭapaṃ, tatra ṣāṇḍhyam alpaśukratā vā bhavati; evam etāny ekādaśa
sakthimarmāṇi vyākhyātāni | etenetarasakthi bāhū ca vyākhyātau | viśeṣatas
tu yāni sakthni gulphajānuviṭapāni, tāni bāhau maṇibandhakūrparakakṣadharāṇi
; yathā vaṅkṣaṇavṛṣaṇayor antare viṭapam evaṃ vakṣaḥkakṣayor madhye
kakṣadharaṃ, tasmin viddhe ta evopadravāḥ; viśeṣatas tu maṇibandhe kuṇṭhatā,
kūrparākhye kuṇiḥ, kakṣadhare pakṣāghātaḥ | evam etāni catuścatvāriṃśac
chākhāsu marmāṇi vyākhyātāni ||24||
ata ūrdhvam udarorasor marmāṇy anuvyākhyāsyāmaḥ --- tatra
vātavarconirasanaṃ sthūlāntrapratibaddhaṃ gudaṃ nāma marma, tatra
sadyomaraṇaṃ; alpamāṃsaśoṇito 'bhyantarataḥ kaṭyāṃ mūtrāśayo bastiḥ, tatrāpi
sadyomaraṇam aśmarīvraṇād ṛte, tatrāpy ubhayato bhinne na jīvati, ekato
bhinne mūtrasrāvī vraṇo bhavati, sa tu yatnenopakrānto rohati;
pakvāmāśayayor madhye sirāprabhavā nābhiḥ, tatrāpi sadyo maraṇaṃ; stanayor
madhyamadhiṣṭhāyor asyāmāśayadvāraṃ sattvarajastamasām adhiṣṭhānaṃ hṛdayaṃ,
tatrāpi sadya eva maraṇaṃ; stanayor adhastād dvyaṅgulam ubhayataḥ stanamūle,
tatra kaphapūrṇakoṣṭhatayā (kāsaśvāsābhyāṃ ) mriyate; stanacūcukayor ūrdhvaṃ
dvyaṅgulam ubhayataḥ stanarohitau , tatra lohitapūrṇakoṣṭhatayā
kāsaśvāsābhyāṃ ca mriyate; aṃsakūṭayor adhastāt pārśvoparibhāgayor apalāpau
nāma, tatra raktena pūyabhāvaṃ gatena maraṇaṃ; ubhayatroraso nāḍyau vātavahe
apastambhau nāma, tatra vātapūrṇakoṣṭhatayā kāsaśvāsābhyāṃ ca maraṇam; evam
etāny udarorasor dvādaśa marmāṇi vyākhyātāni ||25||
ata ūrdhvaṃ pṛṣṭhamarmāṇi vyākhyāsyāmaḥ --- tatra pṛṣṭhavaṃśam ubhayataḥ
pratiśroṇikāṇḍamasthinī kaṭīkataruṇe, tatra śoṇitakṣayāt pāṇḍurvivarṇo
hīnarūpaś ca mriyate; pārśvayor jaghanabahirbhāge pṛṣṭhavaṃśamubhayato
kukundare, tatra sparśājñānamadhaḥkāye ceṣṭopaghātaś ca; śroṇīkāṇḍayor upary
āśayāc chādanau pārśvāntarapratibaddhau nitambau, tatrādhaḥkāyaśoṣo
daurbalyāc ca maraṇaṃ; adhaḥpārśvāntarapratibaddhau jaghanapārśvamadhyayos
tiryag ūrdhvaṃ ca jaghanāt pārśvasandhī, tatra lohitapūrṇakoṣṭhatayā
mriyate; stanamūlād ṛjūbhayataḥ pṛṣṭhavaṃśasya bṛhatī, tatra
śoṇitātipravṛttinimittair upadravair mriyate; pṛṣṭhopari pṛṣṭhavaṃśam
ubhayatas trikasaṃbaddhe aṃsaphalake, tatra bāhvoḥ svāpaśoṣau ;
bāhumūrdhagrīvāmadhyeṃ 'sapīṭhaskandhabandhanāvaṃsau, tatra stabdhabāhutā;
evam etāni caturdaśa pṛṣṭhamarmāṇi vyākhyātāni ||26||
ata ūrdhvamūrdhvajatrugatāni vyākhyāsyāmaḥ --- tatra kaṇṭhanāḍīm ubhayataś
catasro dhamanyo dve nīle dve ca manye vyatyāsena , tatra mūkatā
svaravaikṛtamarasagrāhitā ca; grīvāyām ubhayataś catasraḥ sirā mātṛkāḥ,
tatra sadyomaraṇaṃ; śirogrīvayoḥ sandhāne kṛkāṭike, tatra calamūrdhatā;
karṇapṛṣṭhato 'dhaḥsaṃśrite vidhure, tatra bādhiryaṃ; ghrāṇamārgam ubhayataḥ
srotomārgapratibaddhe abhyantarataḥ phaṇe, tatra gandhājñānaṃ;
bhrūpucchāntayor adho 'kṣṇorbāhyato 'pāṅgau, tatrāndhyaṃ dṛṣṭyupaghāto vā;

noddhṛtaśalyaḥ; bhruvor madhye sthapanī, tatrotkṣepavat; pañca sandhayaḥ
śirasi vibhaktāḥ sīmantā nāma, tatronmādabhayacittanāśair maraṇaṃ;
ghrāṇaśrotrākṣijihvāsantarpaṇīnāṃ sirāṇāṃ madhye sirāsannipātaḥ śṛṅgāṭakāni
, tāni catvāri marmāṇi, tatrāpi sadyomaraṇaṃ ; mastakābhyantaropariṣṭhāt
sirāsandhisannipāto romāvarto 'dhipatiḥ, tatrāpi sadya eva | evam etāni
saptatriṃśad ūrdhvajatrugatāni marmāṇi vyākhyātāni ||27||

chinneṣu pāṇicaraṇeṣu sirā narāṇāṃ saṅkocamīyurasṛgalpamato nireti |
prāpyāmitavyasanamugramato manuṣyāḥ saṃcchinnaśākhataruvannidhanaṃ na yānti

kṣipreṣu tatra sataleṣu hateṣu raktaṃ gacchatyatīva pavanaś ca rujaṃ karoti
| evaṃ vināśam upayānti hi tatra viddhā vṛkṣā ivāyudhanipātanikṛttamūlāḥ

tasmāt tayor abhihatasya tu pāṇipādaṃ chettavyamāśu maṇibandhanagulphadeśe
marmāṇi śalyaviṣayārdham udāharanti yasmāc ca marmasu hatā na bhavanti

jīvanti tatra yadi vaidyaguṇena kecit te prāpnuvanti vikalatvam asaṃśayaṃ

taccikitsite yathā vakṣyate, kroṣṭukaśiraḥkhañjapaṅgulavātavedanāsu
jaṅghāyāṃ gulphasyopari caturaṅgule, apacyāmindrabasteradhastād dvyaṅgule,
jānusandheruparyadho vā caturaṅgule gṛdhrasyāṃ, ūrumūlasaṃśritāṃ galagaṇḍe,
etenetarasakthi bāhū ca vyākhyātau; viśeṣatas tu vāmabāhau kūrparasandher

(vṛṣaṇayoḥ pārśve mūtravṛddhyāṃ, nābher adhaś caturaṅgule sevanyā vāmapārśve
dakodare ,) vāmapārśve kakṣāstanayor antare 'ntarvidradhau pārśvaśūle ca,
bāhuśoṣāvabāhukayor apyeke vadantyaṃsayor antare, trikasandhimadhyagatāṃ
tṛtīyake, adhaḥskandhasandhigatāmanyatarapārśvasaṃsthitāṃ caturthake,
hanusandhimadhyagatāmapasmāre, śaṅkhakeśāntasandhigatāmuro 'pāṅgalalāṭeṣu
conmāde, jihvārogeṣv adhojihvāyāṃ dantavyādhiṣu ca, tāluni tālavyeṣu,
karṇayor upari samantāt karṇaśūle tadrogeṣu ca, gandhāgrahaṇe nāsārogeṣu ca
nāsāgre, timirākṣipākaprabhṛtiṣvakṣyāmayeṣūpanāsike lālāṭyāmapāṅgyāṃ vā, etā
eva śirorogādhimanthaprabhṛtiṣu rogeṣv iti ||17||
duṣṭavyadhā viṃśatiḥ --- durviddhātividdhā kuñcitā piccitā
kuṭṭitāprasrutātyudīrṇānte viddhā pariśuṣkā kūṇitā vepitānutthitaviddhā
śastrahatā tiryagviddhāviddhāvyadhyā vidrutā dhenukā punaḥ punarviddhā
sirāsnāyvasthisandhimarmasu ceti ||18||
tatra yā sūkṣmaśastraviddhāvyaktamasṛk sravati rujāśophavatī ca sā
durviddhā, pramāṇātiriktaviddhāyāmantaḥ praviśati śoṇitaṃ
śoṇitātipravṛttirvā sātividdhā, kuñcitāyāmapyevaṃ, kuṇṭhaśastrapramathitā
pṛthulībhāvamāpannā piccitā, anāsāditā punaḥ punarantayoś ca bahuśaḥ
śastrābhihatā kuṭṭitā, śītabhayamūrcchābhir apravṛttaśoṇitā aprasrutā,
tīkṣṇamahāmukhaśastraviddhātyudīrṇā, alparaktasrāviṇyanteviddhā,
kṣīṇaśoṇitasyānilapūrṇā pariśuṣkā, caturbhāgāsāditā kiṃcitpravṛttaśoṇitā
kūṇitā, duḥsthānabandhanādvepamānāyāḥ śoṇitasaṃmoho bhavati sā vepitā,
anutthitaviddhāyāmapyevaṃ, chinnātipravṛttaśoṇitā kriyāsaṅgakarī śastrahatā,
tiryakpraṇihitaśastrā kiṃciccheṣā tiryagviddhā, bahuśaḥ kṣatā
hīnaśastrapraṇidhānenāviddhā, aśastrakṛtyā avyadhyā, anavasthitaviddhā
vidrutā, pradeśasya bahuśo 'vaghaṭṭanādārohadvyadhā muhurmuhuḥ śoṇitasrāvā
dhenukā, sūkṣmaśastravyadhanādbahuśo bhinnā punaḥ punarviddhā,

vidadhyāt, hṛdyaṃ dravamadhuraprāyaṃ snigdhaṃ dīpanīyasaṃskṛtaṃ ca bhojanaṃ
bhojayet , sāmānyam etad āprasavāt ||3||
viśeṣatas tu garbhiṇī prathamadvitīyatṛtīyamāseṣu
madhuraśītadravaprāyamāhāram upaseveta; viśeṣatas tu tṛtīye ṣaṣṭikaudanaṃ
payasā bhojayet , caturthe dadhnā, pañcame payasā, ṣaṣṭhe sarpiṣetyeke;
caturthe payonavanītasaṃsṛṣṭamāhārayejjāṅgalamāṃsasahitaṃ hṛdyamannaṃ ca
bhojayet , pañcame kṣīrasarpiḥsaṃsṛṣṭaṃ , ṣaṣṭhe śvadaṃṣṭrāsiddhasya sarpiṣo
mātrāṃ pāyayed yavāgūṃ vā, saptame sarpiḥ pṛthakparṇyādisiddham,
evamāpyāyate garbhaḥ; aṣṭame badarodakena
balātibalāśatapuṣpāpalalapayodadhimastutailalavaṇamadanaphalamadhughṛtamiśreṇāsthāpayet
purāṇapurīṣaśuddhyarthamanulomanārthaṃ ca vāyoḥ, tataḥ
payomadhurakaṣāyasiddhena tailenānuvāsayet, anulome hi vāyau sukhaṃ
prasūyate nirupadravā ca bhavati, ata ūrdhvaṃ snigdhābhir yavāgūbhir
jāṅgalarasaiścopakramedāprasavakālāt; evam upakrāntā snigdhā balavatī sukham
anupadravā prasūyate ||4||
navame māsi sūtikāgāramenāṃ praveśayet praśaste tithyādau | tatrāriṣṭaṃ
brāhmaṇakṣatriyavaiśyaśūdrāṇāṃ śvetaraktapītakṛṣṇeṣu bhūmipradeśeṣu
bilvanyagrodhatindukabhallātakanirmitasarvāgāraṃ yathāsaṅkhyaṃ
tanmayaparyaṅkaṃ samupaliptabhittiṃ suvibhaktaparicchadaṃ prāgdvāraṃ
dakṣiṇadvāraṃ vāṣṭahastāyataṃ caturhastavistṛtaṃ rakṣāmaṅgalasaṃpannaṃ
vidheyam ||5||
jāte hi śithile kukṣau mukte hṛdayabandhane |
saśūle jaghane nārī jñeyā sā tu prajāyinī ||6||
tatropasthitaprasavāyāḥ kaṭīpṛṣṭhaṃ prati samantād vedanā bhavaty abhīkṣṇaṃ
purīṣapravṛttirmūtraṃ prasicyate yonimukhāc chleṣmā ca ||7||
prajanayiṣyamāṇāṃ kṛtamaṅgalasvastivācanāṃ kumāraparivṛtāṃ
punnāmaphalahastāṃ svabhyaktāmuṣṇodakapariṣiktāmathaināṃ sambhṛtāṃ
yavāgūmākaṇṭhāt pāyayet, tataḥ kṛtopadhāne mṛduni vistīrṇe śayane
sthitāmābhugnasakthīmuttānāmaśaṅkanīyāś catasraḥ striyaḥ pariṇatavayasaḥ
prajananakuśalāḥ kartitanakhāḥ paricareyur iti ||8||
athāsyā viśikhāntaram anulomam anusukhamabhyajyānubrūyāc caitām ekā ---
subhage pravāhasv eti, nacāprāptāvī pravāhasva, tato vimukte
garbhanāḍīprabandhe saśūleṣu śroṇivaṅkṣaṇabastiśiraḥsu ca pravāhethāḥ śanaiḥ
śanaiḥ, tato garbhanirgame pragāḍhaṃ, tato garbhe yonimukhaṃ prapanne
gāḍhataramāviśalyabhāvāt; akālapravāhaṇādbadhiraṃ mūkaṃ kubjaṃ
vyastahanumūrdhvābhighātinaṃ kāsaśvāsaśoṣopadrutaṃ vikaṭaṃ vā janayati ||9||
tatra pratilomamanulomayet, prāñjalam ākarṣet ||10||
garbhasaṅge tu yoniṃ dhūpayet kṛṣṇasarpanirmokeṇa piṇḍītakena vā,
badhnīyāddhiraṇyapuṣpīmūlaṃ hastapādayoḥ, dhārayet suvarcalāṃ viśalyāṃ vā
||11||
atha jātasyolbaṃ mukhaṃ ca saindhavasarpiṣā viśodhya, ghṛtāktaṃ mūrdhni
picuṃ dadyāt; tato nābhināḍīm aṣṭāṅgulam āyamya sūtreṇa baddhvā chedayet,
tatsūtraikadeśaṃ ca kumārasya grīvāyāṃ samyag badhnīyāt ||12||
atha kumāraṃ śītābhir adbhir āśvāsya jātakarmaṇi kṛte
madhusarpiranantacūrṇamaṅgulyānāmikayā lehayet; tato balātailenābhyajya,
kṣīravṛkṣakaṣāyeṇa sarvagandhodakena vā rūpyahemaprataptena vā vāriṇā
snāpayed enaṃ kapitthapatrakaṣāyeṇa vā koṣṇena yathākālaṃ yathādoṣaṃ
yathāvibhavaṃ ca ||13||
dhamanīnāṃ hṛdisthānāṃ vivṛtatvād anantaram |
catūrātrāt trirātrād vā strīṇāṃ stanyaṃ pravartate ||14||
tasmāt prathame 'hni madhusarpir anantamiśraṃ mantrapūtaṃ trikālaṃ pāyayet,
dvitīye lakṣmaṇāsiddhaṃ sarpiḥ, tṛtīye ca; tataḥ prāṅnivāritastanyaṃ
madhusarpiḥ svapāṇitalasaṃmitaṃ dvikālaṃ pāyayet ||15||
atha sūtikāṃ balātailābhyaktāṃ vātaharauṣadhaniṣkvāthenopacaret |
saśeṣadoṣāṃ tu tadahaḥ pippalīpippalīmūlahastipippalīcitrakaśṛṅgaveracūrṇaṃ
guḍodakenoṣṇena pāyayet, evaṃ dvirātraṃ trirātraṃ vā kuryād āduṣṭaśoṇitāt |
viśuddhe tato vidārigandhādisiddhāṃ snehayavāgūṃ kṣīrayavāgūṃ vā pāyayet
trirātram | tato yavakolakulatthasiddhena jāṅgalarasena śālyodanaṃ bhojayed
balamagnibalaṃ cāvekṣya | anena vidhinādhyardhamāsam upasaṃskṛtā
vimuktāhārācārā vigatasūtikābhidhānā syāt, punar ārtavadarśanād ity eke

dhanvabhūmijātāṃ tu sūtikāṃ ghṛtatailayor anyatarasya mātrāṃ pāyayet
pippalyādikaṣāyānupānāṃ, snehanityā ca syāt trirātraṃ pañcarātraṃ vā
balavatī ; abalāṃ yavāgūṃ pāyayet trirātraṃ pañcarātraṃ vā | ata ūrdhvaṃ
snigdhenānnasaṃsargeṇopacaret ||17||
prāyaśaś caināṃ prabhūtenoṣṇodakena pariṣiñcet, krodhāyāsamaithunādīṃś ca
pariharet ||18||
mithyācārāt sūtikāyā yo vyādhir upajāyate |
sa kṛcchrasādhyo 'sādhyo vā bhaved atyapatarpaṇāt ||19||
tasmāt tāṃ deśakālau ca vyādhisātmyena karmaṇā |
parīkṣyopacaren nityam evaṃ nātyayam āpnuyāt ||20||
athāparā 'patanty ānāhādhmānau kurute, tasmāt kaṇṭhamasyāḥ
keśaveṣṭitayāṅgulyā pramṛjet, kaṭukālābukṛtavedhanasarṣapasarpanirmokair vā
kaṭutailavimiśrairyonimukhaṃ dhūpayet, lāṅgalīmūlakalkena vāsyāḥ
pāṇipādatalam ālimpet, mūrdhni vāsyā mahāvṛkṣakṣīram anusecayet,
kuṣṭhalāṅgalīmūlakalkaṃ vā madyamūtrayor anyatareṇa pāyayet, śālamūlakalkaṃ
vā pippalyādiṃ vā madyena, siddhārthakakuṣṭhalāṅgalīmahāvṛkṣakṣīramiśreṇa
surāmaṇḍena vāsthāpayet, etair eva siddhena siddhārthakatailenottarabastiṃ
dadyāt, snigdhena vā kṛttanakhena hastenāpaharet ||21||
prajātāyāś ca nāryā rūkṣaśarīrāyāstīkṣṇairaviśodhitaṃ raktaṃ vāyunā
taddeśagatenātisaṃruddhaṃ nābheradhaḥ pārśvayor bastau bastiśirasi vā
granthiṃ karoti; tataś ca nābhibastyudaraśūlāni bhavanti, sūcībhir iva
nistudyate bhidyate dīryata iva ca pakvāśayaḥ, samantādādhmānamudare
mūtrasaṅgaś ca bhavatīti makkallalakṣaṇam | tatra vīratarvādisiddhaṃ
jalamuṣakādipratīvāpaṃ pāyayet, yavakṣāracūrṇaṃ vā sukhodakena
pippalyādikvāthena vā, pippalyādicūrṇaṃ vā surāmaṇḍena, varuṇādikvāthaṃ vā
pañcakolailāpratīvāpaṃ, pṛthakparṇyādikvāthaṃ vā bhadradārumaricasaṃsṛṣṭaṃ,
purāṇaguḍaṃ vā trikaṭukacaturjātakakustumburumiśraṃ khādet, acchaṃ vā
pibedariṣṭam iti ||22||
atha bālaṃ kṣaumaparivṛtaṃ kṣaumavastrāstṛtāyāṃ śayyāyāṃ śāyayet,
pīlu badarī nimba parūṣaka śākhābhiś
cainaṃ parivījayet, mūrdhni cāsyāharahastailapicumavacārayet, dhūpayeccainaṃ
rakṣoghnair dhūpaiḥ, rakṣoghnāni cāsya pāṇipādaśirogrīvāsv avasṛjet,
tilātasīsarṣapakaṇāṃś cātra prakiret, adhiṣṭhāne cāgniṃ prajvālayet,
vraṇitopāsanīyaṃ cāvekṣeta ||23||
tato daśame 'hani mātāpitarau kṛtamaṅgalakautukau svastivācanaṃ kṛtvā nāma
kuryāt āṃ yadabhipretaṃ nakṣatranāma vā ||24||
tato yathāvarṇaṃ dhātrīmupeyānmadhyamapramāṇāṃ madhyamavayaskā(sā)m arogāṃ
śīlavatīmacapalāmalolupāmakṛśāmasthūlāṃ
prasannakṣīrāmalambauṣṭhīmalambordhvastanīmavyaṅgāmavyasaninīṃ jīvadvatsāṃ
dogdhrīṃ vatsalāmakṣudrakarmiṇīṃ kule jātāmato bhūyiṣṭhaiś ca guṇairanvitāṃ
śmāmāmārogyabalavṛddhaye bālasya | tatrordhvastanī karālaṃ kuryāt ,
lambastanī nāsikāmukhaṃ chādayitvā maraṇam āpādayet | tataḥ praśastāyāṃ
tithau śiraḥsnātam ahatavāsasam udaṅmukhaṃ śiśum upaveśya dhātrīṃ prāṅmukhīṃ
copaveśya dakṣiṇaṃ stanaṃ dhautamīṣatparisrutamabhimantrya mantreṇānena
pāyayet ||25||
‘catvāraḥ sāgarāstubhyaṃ stanayoḥ kṣīravāhinaḥ |
bhavantu subhage nityaṃ bālasya balavṛddhaye ||26||
payo 'mṛtarasaṃ pītvā kumāraste śubhānane |
dīrghamāyuravāpnotu devāḥ prāśyāmṛtaṃ yathā ||27||
ato 'nyathā nānā stanyopayogasyāsātmyād vyādhijanma bhavati ||28||
aparisrute 'pyatistabdhastanyapūrṇastanapānādutsuhitasrotasaḥ śiśoḥ
kāsaśvāsavamīprādurbhāvaḥ | tasmād evaṃvidhānāṃ stanyaṃ na pāyayet ||29||
krodhaśokāvātsalyādibhiś ca striyāḥ stanyanāśo bhavati | athāsyāḥ
kṣīrajananārthaṃ saumanasyam utpādya
yavagodhūmaśāliṣaṣṭikamāṃsarasasurāsauvīrakapiṇyākalaśunamatsyakaśerukaśṛṅgāṭaka-
bisavidārikandamadhukaśatāvarīnālikālābūkālaśākaprabhṛtīni vidadhyāt ||30||
athāsyāḥ stanyam apsu parīkṣeta; tac cecchītalam amalaṃ tanu śaṅkhāvabhāsam
apsu nyastam ekībhāvaṃ gacchaty aphenilam atantum annotplavate 'vasīdati vā
tac chuddham iti vidyāt, tena kumārasyārogyaṃ śarīropacayo balavṛddhiś ca
bhavati | na ca
kṣudhitaśokārtaśrāntapraduṣṭadhātugarbhiṇījvaritātikṣīṇātisthūlavidagdhabhaktaviruddhāhāratarpitāyāḥ
stanyaṃ pāyayet; nājīrṇauṣadhaṃ ca bālaṃ, doṣauṣadhamalānāṃ
tīvravegotpattibhayāt ||31||
bhavanti cātra
dhātryās tu gurubhir bhojyairviṣamairdoṣalais tathā |
doṣā dehe prakupyanti tataḥ stanyaṃ praduṣyati ||32||
mithyāhāravihāriṇyā duṣṭā vātādayaḥ striyāḥ |
dūṣayanti payas tena śārīrā vyādhayaḥ śiśoḥ |
bhavanti kuśalas tāṃś ca bhiṣak samyag vibhāvayet ||33||
aṅgapratyaṅgadeśe tu rujā yatrāsya jāyate |
muhur muhuḥ spṛśati taṃ spṛśyamāne ca roditi ||34||
nimīlitākṣo mūrdhasthe śiro roge na dhārayet |
bastis the mūtrasaṅgārto rujā tṛṣyati mūrcchati ||35||
viṇmūtrasaṅgavaivarṇyacchardyādhmānāntrakūjanaiḥ |
koṣṭhe doṣān vijānīyāt sarvatrasthāṃś ca rodanaiḥ ||36||
teṣu yathābhihitaṃ mṛdv acchedanīyam auṣadhaṃ mātrayā kṣīrapasya
kṣīrasarpiṣā saṃyuktaṃ vidadhyāt, dhātryāś ca kevalaṃ, kṣīrānnād asyātmani
dhātryāś ca pūrvavat, annādasya kaṣāyādīn ātmany eva na dhātryāḥ ||37||
tatra māsādūrdhvaṃ kṣīrapāyāṅguliparvadvayagrahaṇasaṃmitāmauṣadhamātrāṃ
vidadhyāt, kolāsthisaṃmitāṃ kalkamātrāṃ kṣīrānnādāya, kolasaṃmitāmannādāyeti

yeṣāṃ gadānāṃ ye yogāḥ pravakṣyante 'gadaṅkarāḥ |
teṣu tatkalkasaṃliptau pāyayeta śiśuṃ stanau ||39||
ekaṃ dve trīṇi cāhāni vātapittakaphajvare |
stanyapāyāhitaṃ sarpiritarābhyāṃ yathārthataḥ ||40||
na ca tṛṣṇābhayādatra pāyayeta śiśuṃ stanau |
virekabastivamanānyṛte kuryāc ca nātyayāt ||41||
mastuluṅgakṣayādyasya vāyustālvasthi nāmayet |
tasya tṛḍdainyayuktasya sarpirmadhurakaiḥ śṛtam ||42||
pānābhyañjanayor yojyaṃ śītāmbūdvejanaṃ tathā
vātenādhmāpitāṃ nābhiṃ sarujāṃ tuṇḍisaṃjñitām ||43||
mārutaghnaiḥ praśamayet snehasvedopanāhanaiḥ |
gudapāke tu bālānāṃ pittaghnīṃ kārayet kriyām |
rasāñjanaṃ viśeṣeṇa pānālepanayor hitam ||44||
kṣīrāhārāya sarpiḥ pāyayet
siddhārthakavacāmāṃsīpayasyāpāmārgaśatāvarīsārivābrāhmīpippalīharidrākuṣṭhasaindhavasiddhaṃ,
kṣīrānnādāya madhukavacāpippalīcitrakatriphalāsiddham, annādāya
dvipañcamūlīkṣīratagarabhadradārumaricamadhukaviḍaṅgadrākṣardhibrāhmīsiddhaṃ
; tenārogyabalamedhāyūṃṣi śiśorbhavanti ||45||
bālaṃ punargātrasukhaṃ gṛhṇīyāt, na cainaṃ tarjayet, sahasā na
pratibodhayed vitrāsabhayāt, sahasā nāpaharedutkṣipedvā vātādivighātabhayāt,
nopaveśayet kaubjyabhayāt, nityaṃ cainam anuvarteta priyaśatairajighāṃsuḥ;
evam avihatamanā hy abhivardhate nityam udagrasattvasaṃpanno nīrogaḥ
suprasannamanāś ca bhavati |
vātātapavidyutprabhāpādapalatāśūnyāgāranimnasthānagrahacchāyādibhyo
durgrahopasargataś ca bālaṃ rakṣet ||46||
nāśucau visṛjed bālaṃ nākāśe viṣame na ca |
noṣmamārutavarṣeṣu rajodhūmodakeṣu ca ||47||
kṣīrasātmyatayā kṣīramājaṃ gavyamathāpi vā |
dadyād āstanyaparyāpter bālānāṃ vīkṣya mātrayā ||48||
ṣaṇmāsaṃ cainamannaṃ prāśayel laghu hitaṃ ca ||49||
nityam avarodharataś ca syāt kṛtarakṣa upasargabhayāt; prayatnataś ca
grahopasargebhyo rakṣyā bālā bhavanti ||50||
atha kumāra udvijate trasyati roditi naṣṭasaṃjño bhavati nakhadaśanair
dhātrīmātmānaṃ ca pariṇudati dantān khādati kūjati jṛmbhate bhruvau
vikṣipatyūrdhvaṃ nirīkṣate phenamudvamati sandaṣṭauṣṭhaḥkrūro bhinnāmavarcā
dīnārtasvaro niśi jāgarti durbalo mlānāṅgo matsyacchucchrundarimatkuṇagandho
yathā purā dhātryāḥ stanyamabhilaṣati tathā nābhilaṣatīti sāmānyena
grahopasṛṣṭalakṣaṇamuktaṃ, vistareṇottare
vakṣyāmaḥ ||51||
śaktimantaṃ cainaṃ jñātvā yathāvarṇaṃ vidyāṃ grāhayet ||52||
athāsmai pañcaviṃśativarṣāya
ṣoḍaśa ṣoḍaśadaśa varṣāṃ
patnīm āvahet pitryadharmārthakāmaprajāḥ prāpsyatīti ||53||
ūnaṣoḍaśavarṣāyām aprāptaḥ pañcaviṃśatim |
yady ādhatte pumān garbhaṃ kukṣisthaḥ sa vipadyate ||54||
jāto vā na ciraṃ jīvejjīvedvā durbalendriyaḥ |
tasmād atyantabālāyāṃ garbhādhānaṃ na kārayet ||55||
ativṛddhāyāṃ dīrgharogiṇyāmanyena vā vikāreṇopasṛṣṭāyāṃ garbhādhānaṃ naiva
kurvīta | puruṣasyāpy evaṃvidhasya ta eva doṣāḥ saṃbhavanti ||56||
tatra pūrvoktaiḥ kāraṇaiḥ patiṣyati garbhe
garbhāśayakaṭīvaṅkṣaṇabastiśūlāni raktadarśanaṃ ca | tatra śītaiḥ
pariṣekāvagāhapradehādibhir upacarejjīvanīyaśṛtakṣīrapānaiś ca |
garbhasphuraṇe muhurmuhustatsandhāraṇārthaṃ kṣīramutpalādisiddhaṃ pāyayet |
prasraṃsamāne sadāhapārśvapṛṣṭhaśūlāsṛgdarānāhamūtrasaṅgāḥ, sthānāt sthānaṃ
ca prakrāmati garbhe koṣṭhe saṃrambhaḥ, tatra snigdhaśītāḥ kriyāḥ |
vedanāyāṃ mahāsahākṣudrasahāmadhukaśvadaṃṣṭrākaṇṭakārikāsiddhaṃ payaḥ
śarkarākṣaudramiśraṃ pāyayet; mūtrasaṅge darbhādisiddham; ānāhe
hiṅgusauvarcalalaśunavacāsiddham | atyarthaṃ sravati rakte
koṣṭhāgārikāgāramṛtpiṇḍasamaṅgādhātakīkusumanavamālikāgairikasarjarasarasāñjanacūrṇaṃ
madhunāvalihyāt, yathālābhaṃ nyagrodhāditvakpravālakalkaṃ vā payasā pāyayet,
utpalādikalkaṃ vā kaśeruśṛṅgāṭakaśālūkakalkaṃ vā śṛtena payasā,
udumbaraphalaudakakandakvāthena vā śarkarāmadhumadhureṇa śālipiṣṭaṃ;
nyagrodhādisvarasaparipītaṃ vā vastrāvayavaṃ yonyāṃ dhārayet |
athādṛṣṭaśoṇitavedanāyāṃ madhukadevadārumañjiṣṭhāpayasyāsiddhaṃ payaḥ
pāyayet, tadevāśmantakaśatāvarīpayasyāsiddhaṃ vidārigandhādisiddhaṃ vā,
bṛhatīdvayotpalaśatāvarīsārivāpayasyāmadhukasiddhaṃ vā; evam upakrāntāyā
upāvartante rujo garbhaś cāpy āyate | vyavasthite ca garbhe
gavyenodumbaraśalāṭusiddhena payasā bhojayet | atīte lavaṇasnehavarjyābhir
yavāgūbhir uddālakādīnāṃ pācanīyopasaṃskṛtābhir upakrameta yāvanto māsā
garbhasya tāvantyahāni | bastyudaraśūleṣu purāṇaguḍaṃ dīpanīyasaṃyuktaṃ
pāyayed ariṣṭaṃ vā | vātopadravagṛhītatvāt srotasāṃ līyate garbhaḥ, so
'tikālamavatiṣṭhamāno vyāpadyate, tāṃ mṛdunā snehādikrameṇopacaret,
utkrośarasasaṃsiddhāmanalpasnehāṃ yavāgūṃ pāyayet,
māṣatilabilvaśalāṭusiddhān vā kulmāṣān bhakṣayen madhumādhvīkaṃ cānupibet
saptarātram | kālātītasthāyini garbhe viśeṣataḥ sadhānyamudūkhala
musalenābhihanyād viṣame vā yān āsane seveta | vātābhipanna eva śuṣyati
garbhaḥ, sa mātuḥ kukṣiṃ na pūrayati mandaṃ spandate ca, taṃ bṛṃhaṇīyaiḥ
payo bhir māṃsarasaiś copacaret | śukraśoṇitaṃ vāyunābhiprapannam
avakrāntajīvam ādhmāpayaty udaraṃ, taṃ kadācid yadṛcchayopaśāntaṃ
naigameṣāpahṛtam iti bhāṣante, tam eva kadācit pralīyamānaṃ nāgodaram ity
āhuḥ; tatrāpi līnavat pratīkāraḥ ||57||
ata ūrdhvaṃ māsānumāsikaṃ vakṣyāmaḥ ||58||
madhukaṃ śākabījaṃ ca payasyā suradāru ca |
aśmantakas tilāḥ kṛṣṇāstāmravallī śatāvarī ||59||
vṛkṣādanī payasyā ca latā sotpalasārivā |
anantā sārivā rāsnā padmā madhukam eva ca ||60||
bṛhatyau kāśmarī cāpi kṣīriśuṅgās tvaco ghṛtam |
pṛśniparṇī balā śigruḥ śvadaṃṣṭrā madhuparṇikā ||61||
śṛṅgāṭakaṃ bisaṃ drākṣā kaśeru madhukaṃ sitā |
vatsaite sapta yogāḥ syurardhaślokasamāpanāḥ |
yathāsaṃkhyaṃ prayoktavyā garbhasrāve payoyutāḥ ||62||
kapitthabṛhatībilvapaṭolekṣunidigdhikā |
mūlāni kṣīrasiddhāni pāyayed bhiṣagaṣṭame ||63||
navame madhukānantāpayasyāsārivāḥ pibet |
kṣīraṃ śuṇṭhīpayasyābhyāṃ siddhaṃ syād daśame hitam ||64||
sakṣīrā vā hitā śuṇṭhī madhukaṃ suradāru ca |
evam āpyāyate garbhas tīvrā ruk copaśāmyati ||65||
nivṛttaprasavāyās tu punaḥ ṣaḍbhyo varṣebhya ūrdhvaṃ prasavam ānāyā nāryāḥ
kumāro 'lpāyur bhavati ||66||
atha garbhiṇīṃ vyādhyutpattāv atyaye chardayen
madhurāmlenānnopahitenānulomayec ca, saṃśamanīyaṃ ca mṛdu vidadhyād
annapānayoḥ, aśnīyāc ca mṛduvīryaṃ madhuraprāyaṃ garbhāviruddhaṃ ca,
garbhāviruddhāś ca kriyā yathāyogaṃ vidadhīta mṛduprāyāḥ ||67||
sauvarṇaṃ sukṛtaṃ cūrṇaṃ kuṣṭhaṃ madhu ghṛtaṃ vacā |
matsyākṣakaḥ śaṅkhapuṣpī madhu sarpiḥ sakāñcanam ||68||
arkapuṣpī madhu ghṛtaṃ cūrṇitaṃ kanakaṃ vacā |
hemacūrṇāni kaiḍaryaḥ śvetā dūrvā ghṛtaṃ madhu ||69||
catvāro 'bhihitāḥ prāśāḥ ślokārdheṣu caturṣv api |
kumārāṇāṃ vapur medhā balabuddhivivardhanāḥ ||70||
iti suśrutasaṃhitāyāṃ śārīrasthāne garbhiṇīvyākaraṇaṃ śārīraṃ nāma daśamo
'dhyāyaḥ ||10||
iti bhagavatā śrīdhanvantariṇopadiṣṭāyāṃ tacchiṣyeṇa
maharṣiṇā suśrutena viracitāyāṃ suśrutasaṃhitāyāṃ tṛtīyaṃ śārīrasthānaṃ
samāptam |
