puṣkalāvata karavīra gopurarakṣita bhoja suśruta prabhṛtaya ūcur bhagavac chārīramānasāgantubhir vvyādhibhir vvividhavedanābhighātopadrutāṃ sanāthān anāthavad viceṣṭamānān vikrośataś ca mānavānām abhisamīkṣya manasi naḥ pīḍābhavat | teṣāṃ sukhaiṣiṇāṃ rogopaśamārtham ātmanaś ca prāṇayātrārtham āyurvvedam icchāma upadiśyamānam attrāya uttam auhikam āmuṣmikañ ca śreyas tad bhagavantam upasannā āyurmedhākaraṇaṃ vyādhyupaśamakaraṇārthañ ca | vājīkaraṇatantran nāma svalpaduṣṭakṣīṇaviśuṣkaretasāṃ śukrāpyāyatanaprasādopacayajanananimittaṃ praharṣajananārthañ ca | evam ayam āyurvvedo ṣṭāṅga upadiśyate atra kasmai kim varṇyatām iti ta ūcur asmākaṃ sarvvam eva śalyajñānam alaṃkṛtvopadiśatu bhagavān iti sa uvācaivam astv iti ta ūcur bhūyo 'smākaṃ sarvveṣām evaikamatīnā matam abhisamīkṣya suśruto bhagavantam pratyakṣasyopadiśyamānaṃ vayam apy upadhārayiṣyāmaḥ | sa uvācaivam astv iti | iha khalv āyurvvede prayojanaṃ vyādhyupasṛṣṭasya vyādhiparimokṣaḥ svastharakṣaṇañ ca āyur asmin vidanty anena cāyurvvedas tasyāṅgavaram āgamapratyakṣānumānopamānair aviruddham ucyamānam upadhārayadhvam etad dhy aṅgam prathamam pradhānam prāg abhihitatvād vraṇasaṃrohaṇakaratvād yajñaśiraḥpradhānasandhānāc ca śrūyate hi yathā purā rudreṇa yajña śiraś chinnam aśvibhyām punaḥ sandhitam ity aṣṭānām api cāyurvvedatantrāṇām etad evādhikam āśu kriyākaraṇād yantraśastrakṣārāgnipraṇidhānāt sarvvatantrasāmānyāc ca | tad idaṃ śāśvatam puṇyaṃ svargyāṃ yaṃ ya śasyam āyuṣyaṃ vṛttikarañ ca | tad brahmovāca tat prajāpatir adhijage tasmād aśvināv aśvibhyām indra indrād aḥaṃ mayā tv iha pradeyam arthibhyaḥ prajāhitahetoḥ || bhavati cātra || ahaṃ hi dhanvantarir ādidevo jarārujāmṛtyuharo 'marāṇāṃ | śalyam mahac chāstravaraṃ gṛhītvā prāpto 'smi gam bhūya ihopadeṣṭuṃ || tatrāsmiñ śāstre pañcamahābhūtaśarīrisamavāyaḥ puruṣa ity ucyate | tasmin kriyā so 'dhiṣṭhānaṃ kasmāl lokadvaividhyāl loko hi dvividhan sthāvaro jaṅgamaś ca dvividhātmaka evāgneyaḥ saumyaś ca tadbhūyastvāt pañcātmako vā | tatra caturvvidho bhūtagrāmaḥ saṃsvedajo hridajarāyujāṇḍajasaṃjñās tasmin puruṣaḥ pradhānas tasyopakaraṇam anyat tasmāt puruṣo 'dhiṣṭhānaṃ tadduḥkhasaṃyogā vyādhaya ity ucyante te caturvvidhā āgantavaḥ śārīrā mānasā svābhāvikāś ceti | teṣv āgantavo 'bhighātanimittāḥ śārīrās tv annamūlā vātapittakaphaśoṇitavaiṣamyanimittāḥ mānasās tu krodhaśokadainyaharṣakāmaviṣāderṣyāsūyāmātsaryalobhādaya icchādveṣanimittāḥ svābhāvikās tu kṣutpipāsājarāmṛtyunidrāprakṛtayaḥ ta ete manaḥśarīrādhiṣṭhānā bhavanti | teṣāṃ lekhanabṛmhanasaṃśodhanasaṃśamanāhārācārāḥ samyak prayuktā nigrahahetavo bhavanti prāṇināṃ punar mmūlam āhāro balavarṇṇaujasāñ ca sa ṣaṭsu raseṣv āyattarasāḥ punar ddravyāśrayiṇaḥ | dravyāṇi punar auṣadhyaḥ | tā dvividhāḥ | sthāvarā jaṅgamāś ca | tāsāṃ sthāvarāś caturvvidhāḥ | vanaspatayo vṛkṣā oṣadhyo vīrudha iti | tāsv apuṣpā phalavantyo vanaspatayaḥ | puṣpaphalo ye tā vṛkṣāḥ | phalapākaniṣṭhās tv oṣadhyaḥ | pratānavatyo vīrudha iti || jaṅgamāḥ khalv api catuvidhāḥ | jarāyujāṇḍajasaṃsvedajodbhidā iti | teṣām paśumanuṣyavyālādayo jarāyujāḥ | khagasarīsṛpasarppās tv aṇḍajāḥ | krimikuṣṭhapipīlikāprabhṛtayaḥ saṃsvedajāḥ | indragopakamaṇḍūkaprabhṛtayaś codbhidāḥ | tatra sthāvarebhyas tvakpatrapuṣpaphalamūlakandakṣīraniryāsasārasnehasvarasāḥ prayojanavantaḥ | jaṅgamebhyaś carmmaromanakharudhirādayaḥ || pārthivas tu suvarṇṇarajatādayaḥ || kālakṛtās tu pravātanivātātapacchāyātamojyotsnāśītoṣṇavarṣāsu samplavāḥ | kālaviśeṣās tu nimeṣakāṣṭhākalāmuhūrttāhorātrapakṣamāsartvayanasamvatsarayugaviśeṣāḥ | svabhāvata eva doṣāṇāṃ sañcayaprakopopaśamapratīkārahetavo bhavanti | prayojanavantaś ca || bhavanti cātra || śārīrāṇām vikārāṇām eṣa vargaś caturvvidhaḥ | prakope praśame caiva hetur uktaś cikitsakaiḥ || āgantavas tu ye rogās te dvidhā nipatanti ha | manasy anye śarīre ca teṣān tu dvividhā kriyā || śarīrapatitānān tu śārīravad upakramaḥ | mānasānāṃ tu śabdādir iṣṭo vargaḥ sukhāvahaḥ || evam etat puruṣo vyādhir auṣadhaṃ kriyā kāla iti samāsena catuṣṭayaṃ vyākhyātam bhavati || tatra puruṣagrahaṇāt tatsambhavadravyasamūho bhūtādir uktaḥ | tadaṅgapratyaṅgā vikalpāś ca | tvaṅmāṃsāsirāsnāyvasthisandhiprabhṛtayaḥ vyādhigrahaṇād vātapittakaphaśoṇitasannipātāgantusvabhāvanimittāḥ sarvva eva vyādhayo vyākhyātā bhavanti | oṣadhagrahaṇād dravyarasaguṇavīryavipāko nāmādeśaḥ | kriyāgrahaṇāt snehādīni cchedyādīni ca karmmāṇy upadiṣṭāni bhavanti | kālagrahaṇāt sarva eva kriyākālakāladeśaḥ || bhavati cātra bhavati cātra bījañ cikitsitasyaitat samāsena prakīrtitaṃ | saviṃśam adhyāyaśatam asya vyākhyā bhaviṣyati || tac ca viṃśam adhyāyaśatam pañcasu sthāneṣu ceti || atra ślokasthānanidānaśārīracikitsitakalpeṣv arthavasād vibhajya uttare vakṣyāmaḥ || bhavati cātra | svayaṃbhuvā proktam idaṃ sanātanam paṭhet tu yaḥ kāśipatiprakāśitaṃ | sa puṇyakarmmā bhuvi pūjito nṛpair asukṣaye śakrasalokatām iyād iti ||1||

athātaḥ śiṣyopanayanīyam adhyāyaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ ||

brāhmaṇakṣatriyavaiśyānām anyatamam anvayaḥ| vayasaurya śaucācāra vinaya śakti bala medhā dhṛti smṛti pratipattiyuktaṃ tanu jihvauṣṭha dantāgram ṛjuvaktrākṣināsaṃ prasannacittavākceṣṭaṃ kleśasahañ ca śiṣyam upanayet| sa hi guṇavān tasmai deyam ato viparītaguṇam nopanayet ||

śūdram api guṇavantam anupanītam adhyāpayed ity eke| upanayanīyaṃ tu brāhmaṇaṃ praśasteṣu tithikaraṇamuhūrttanakṣatreṣū praśastāyān diśi śucau deśe go ca sma mātraṃ sthaṇḍilam upalipya darbhasaṃstarahitaṃ kṛtvā puṣpair ś ca pūjayitvā palāśodumbarabilvānāṃ samidbhir ghṛtam aktābhir ddārvīhaumikenāgnim upasamādhāyājyaṃ juhuyāt | pratidaivatam ṛṣībhyaḥ śiṣyaṃ svāhākāraṃ kārayet ||

brāhmaṇas trayāṇāṃ rājanyo dvayasya vaiśyo vaiśyasyaiva

tato 'gniṃ pariṇīyāgnisākṣikaṃ śiṣyaṃ brūyāt| kāmakrodhalobhamohamānāhaṃkārerṣyāmātsaryapāruṣya paiśunyānṛtālasyāyaśasyāni hitvā kaṣāyavāsasā nīcanakharomnāṃ trivāraṃ śucinā satyabrahmacaryābhivādanapareṇa bhavitavyaṃ mamānumate sthānagamanaśayanāśanabhojanādhyayanapareṇa bhūtvā matpriyahiteṣu varttitavyaṃ ato nyathā varttamānasyādharmmo bhavati aphalā ca vidyā na ca prākāsyaṃ prāpnuyāt |

ahaṃ vā tvayi samyakvarttamāne yady ananyathādarśā syāt tadaiva na sau bhāgyavidyāphalabhāk ca bhaveyaṃ |

yasmād rogavatā dharmmārthakāmamokṣāḥ prāthyante |

tasmā dvijadaridrasādhvanāthābhyupagatapāṣaṇḍsthitānām ātmabāndhavānām iva ātmabheṣajaiḥ | pratikartavyam evaṃ sādhur bhavati | vyādhasākunikapatitayāpakarttṝṇāñ ca na pratikarttavyaṃ evaṃ vidyā prakāśate | mittra dharmma kāma yaśansi vāprāpnoti ||

agnikarmmajalaukākhyāvadhyāyo raktavarṇṇanam || doṣadhātumalādyānāṃ vijñānādhyāya eva ca | karṇṇavyadha āmapakvamālayo vraṇitāsanaḥ || hitāhitau vraṇapraśno vraṇāsrāvaś ca yaḥ smṛtaḥ | kṛtyākṛtyavidhirvvyādhisamuddeśīya eva ca || viniścayaḥ śastravidhau pranaṣṭajñānikas tathā | śalyoddhṛtirvvraṇajñānaṃ dūtasvapnanidarśanam || pañcendriyaṃ tathā cachāyā svabhāvādvaikṛto' pi ca vāraṇo yuktasenīya āturākramamiśrakau || sūmibhā gyo dravyagaṇaḥ saṃśuddhau samane ca yaḥ | dravyādīnāñ ca vijñānaṃ viśeṣe dravyagoparaḥ || rasajñānaṃ vamanārthamadhyāye recanasya ca | dravadravyavidhis tadvad annapānavidhiḥ śubhaḥ || sūcanāt sūtraṇāccaiva savanāccārthasantateḥ | ṣaṭcatvāriṃśadadhyāyaṃ sūtrasthānaṃ pracakṣyate || vātavyādhikamarśānsi sāśmariś ca bhagandaraḥ | kuṣṭhamehodarā mūḍha vidradhāḥ parisarpaṇam || granthivṛddhikṣudraśūkabhagnāś ca mukharogikam | hetulakṣaṇanirdeśānnidānānīti ṣoḍaśa || bhūtacintā rajaḥśuddhirgnarbhāvakrāntireva ca || garbhasya ca vyākaraṇaṃ śarīrasya ca yatsmṛtam || pratyekamarmmanirddeśaḥ sivarṇanameva ca | sirāvyadho dhamanīnāṃ garbhiṇyā vyākṛtis tathā || nirddiṣṭāni daśautāni śārīrāṇi maharṣiṇā | vijñānārthaṃ śarīrasya bhiṣajāṃ yogināmapi || dvivraṇīyo vraṇa sadyo bhagnānāṃ vātarogikam | mahāvātikamarśāṃsi sāśmariś ca bhagandaraḥ || kuṣṭhānāṃ mahatāñ cāpi maihikaṃ paidikan tathā | madhumehacikitsā ca tathā codariṇāmapi || mūḍhagarbhacikitsā ca vidradhīnāṃ visarppiṇāṃ | granthīnāṃ vṛddhyudaṃśānāṃ tathā ca kṣudrarogikaṃ || śūkadoṣacikitsā ca tathā ca mukharogiṇām | śophasyānāgatānāñ ca niṣedho miśrakan tathā || vyājīkarañ ca yat kṣīṇe sarvvābādhaśamo pi ca | medhāyuṣkaraṇañ cāpi svabhāvāc ca nivāraṇam || nivṛttasantāpakaraṃ kīrttitañ ca rasāyanaṃ | mnehopayogikaḥ svedā vamane sa virecane || bhra tayor vyāpaccikitsā ca netrabastivibhāgikaḥ | netrabastivibhāgikaṃ | netrabastivipatsiddhis tathā cottarabastikaṃ || nirūhakramasaṃjñañ ca tathaivāturasaṃjñitaṃ | dhūmanastovidhiś cogryaś catvāriṃśad iti || daundubhir mmūṣikāṇāñ ca kīṭānā kalpa eva ca | aṣṭau kalpāḥ samākhyātā viṣabheṣajakalpanāt || saviṃśamadhyāya śatam evam etad udīritaṃ | ataḥ paraṃ svanāmnāntu tantramuttaramucyate || adhikṛtya kṛtaṃ yasmāt tantram etad upadravān | aupadravika ityeṣa tasyāgratvān nirucyate || sandhau vartmasu śukle ca kṛṣṇe sarvatra dṛṣṭiṣu | saṃvijñānārtham adhyāyā gadānāṃ tu prati prati || cikitsāpratibhāgīyo vātābhiṣyandavāraṇaḥ | paittasya śleṣmalasyāpi raudhir asya tathaiva ca || lekharoganirodhaś ca chedyānāṃ vartmadṛṣṭiṣu | kriyākalpobhighātaś ca tthās tac cikitsitaṃ || ghrāṇotthānāñ ca vijñānaṃ tad gada pratiṣedhanaṃ | pratiśyāyaniṣedhaś ca śirogatavijānanaṃ || cikitsā tad gadānāñ ca śālākye tantra ucyate | navagrahākṛtijñānaṃ skandasya ca niṣedhanaṃ || apasmāraśakunyoś ca revatyāś ca punaḥ pṛthak | pūtanāyās tathāndhāyā maṇḍikā śītapūtanā || naigameṣacikitsā ca grahotpattiḥ sayonijāḥ | kumāratantram ity etac chārīreṣu ca kīrttitaṃ || jvarātisāraśoṣāṇāṃ gulmahṛdrogiṇām api | pāṇḍūnāṃ raktapittasya mūrcchāyāḥ pānajāś ca ye || tṛṣṇāyāś charddihikkānāṃ niṣedhaḥ śvāsakāsayoḥ | svarabhedacikitsā ca krimyudāvartinoḥ pṛthak || vicikārācakayormmūtrāghātavikṛcchrayoḥ | iti kāyacikitsāyāḥ śeṣam atra prakīrttitaṃ|| amānuṣaniṣedhaś ca tathāpasmārikoparaḥ | unmādapratiṣedhaś ca bhūtavidyā nirucyate || rasabhedāḥ svasthavṛttaṃ yuktayas tāntrikāś ca yāḥ | doṣabhedā iti jñeyā adhyāyās tatra bhūṣaṇāḥ || śreṣṭhatvāduttattaraṃ hy etat tantram āhurmmaharṣayaḥ | bahvarthaṃ sagrahāc chreṣṭham uttaraṃ vāpi paścimaṃ || śālākyatantraṃ kaumāraṃ cikitsā kāyikī ca yā | bhūtavidyeti catvāri tantre tūttarasaṃjñite || vyājīkarā cakitsā ca rasāyanavidhis tathā | viṣatantraṃ punaḥ kalpāḥ śalyajñānaṃ samantataḥ || ity aṣṭāṅgam idan tantram ādideveprakāśitaṃ | ñ vidhinādhītya yuñjānā bhavanti prāṇadā bhuvi || etad avasyamadhyeyaṃ adhītya ca karmmāpy avasyam upāsitavyaṃ ubhayajño hi bhiṣagrājārho bhavati || bha || yas tu kevalaśāstrajñaḥ karmmasvapariniṣṭhataḥ | sa muhyaty āturaṃ prāpya prāpya bhīrur ivāhavaṃ || yastu karmmasu niṣṇāto dhāṣṭyācchāstrabahiṣkṛtaḥ | sa satsu pūjān nāpnoti vadhañ cārcchati jataḥ || ubhāvevanipuṇāvasam arthau cikitsittaṃ | ardhavedadharāvetāvekapakṣāv iva dvijau || oṣadhyo'mṛtakalpās tu śastrāśaniviṣopamāḥ | ajñenopahitāstāsyusmāttamparivarjayet || snehādiṣvanabhijñās tu chedyādiṣu ca karmmasu | mārayanti naraṃ lobhāt kuvaidyā nṛpadoṣataḥ || yas tūbhayajño matimān sa samartho'thasādhane | āhave karmma nirvvoḍhuṃ dvicakra syandano yathā || vatsa yathā adhyeyaṃ tathopadhāraya svocyamānaṃ | atha śucaye kṛtaṃ aṅgalāya kṛtottarāsaṅgāyopasthitāyādhyayanakāle śiṣyāya | yathāśaktito gururupadiśet padaṃ padaṃ pādaṃ pādaṃ ślokaṃ vā te ca krame yaśa bhūyaḥ sandheyāḥ | evam ekaikaśo ghaṭayed ātmānañ cātra paṭhed adrutam avilaṃbitam ananunāsikaṃ nāvyaktātinipīḍitavarṇṇam akṣibhruvauṣṭhahasttair anataṃ susaṃskṛtaṃ nātyuccair nnātinīcaiḥ sva paṭhet tayor adhīyānayor nna cāntareṇa kaś cid vrajed iti || śucir gguruparo dakṣās tandrīnidrāvivarjjitaḥ | paṭhann etena vidhinā śiṣyaḥ śāstrāntam āpnuyāt || ksauṣṭhaverthavijñāne prāgalbhye karmmanaipuṇe | tadabhyāse ca siddhau ca yatetādhyayanāntaga iti athātaḥ prabhāṣaṇīyam adhyāyaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || adhigatam apy adhyayanam ananubhāṣitam arthataḥ kharasya candanabhāra iva kevalaṃ pariśramakaro bhavati || tasmāt saviṃśam adhyāyaśatam anupadapādaślokam avasyam anuvarṇṇitavyaṃ | kasmāt sūkṣmā hi dravyarasaguṇavīryavipākadoṣadhātumalāśayamarmmasirāsnāyusandhyasthivibhāgāḥ | garbhasaṃbhavadravyasamūhavibhāgāś ca | tathā pranaṣṭaśalyoddharaṇavraṇaviniścayabhagnavikalḥ | sādhyayāpy apratyākhyeyatā ca vikārāṇām evam ādayaś ca sahasraśo 'nye viśeṣāḥ | ye cintyamānā vimalavipulabuddher api buddhim ākulīkuryuḥ kiṃ punar alpabuddhes tasmād avasyam anuvarṇṇayitavyaṃ || anyaśāstraviṣayopapannānāñ cārthānām ihopanītānām arthavaśāt teṣān tadvidyaibhya eva vyākhyānam anuśrotavyaṃ || na hy ekasmiñ chāstre m s arvvaśāstrāṇām avarodhaḥ karttuṃ śakya iti || 0 || śāstram ekam adhīyāno na vidyāc chāstraniścayaṃ | tasmād bahuśrutaḥ śāstraṃ vijānīyāc cikitsakaḥ || śāstraṃ gurumukhodgīrṇṇam ādāyopāsya cāsakṛt | yaḥ karmma kurute vaidyaḥ sa vaidyo 'nye tu taskarāḥ || opadhenavam aurabhraṃ mau sau śrutaṃ pauṣkalāvataṃ | śeṣāṇāṃ śalyatantrāṇāṃ lāny etāni nirddiśed iti ||

athāto 'gropaharaṇīyam adhyāyaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || trividhaṃ karmma pūrvvakarmma pradhānakarmma paścātkarmmaiti | tadvyādhīṃ pratyupadekṣyāmaḥ || asya tu śāstrasya śastrakarmmaprādhānyāt | pūrvvaśastrasaṃbhārānevopadekṣyāmaḥ || tacca śastrakarmmāṣṭavidhaṃ bhavati | tadyathā || chedyaṃ bhedyaṃ lekhyaṃ vedhyameṣyaṃ āhāryaṃ viśrāvyaṃ sīvyamiti || ato'nyat karmma cikīrṣuṇā pūrvvamevopakalpayitavyāni bhavanti || tadyathā yantraśastrakṣārāgniśalākāpicuplotapatrasūtraghṛtamadhupayastailatarppaṇakaṣāyālapanakalkaśītodakavyajanakaāhādīni parikarmmiṇaś ca snigdhāsthirā balavantaḥ | tataḥ praśasteṣu tithikaraṇamuhūrttanakṣatreṣu dadhyakṣatānnapānaratnair vviprān ś cārccayitvā kṛtabalimaṅgalasvastivācanaṃ bhuktavantamāturaṃ prāgmukhamupaveśya yantrayitvā marmmamisisnāyumasandhyasthidhamanīḥ pariharann anulomaṃ śastran nidadhyādāpūyadarśanāt sakṛdevopaharecchastramāśu ca | mahatsvapi ca pākeṣu dvyaṅgulantryaṅguṅgulāntaraṃ vā śastrapadamuktaṃ || tatrāyato viṣāla smamassuvibhakta iti vraṇāḥ ekena vā vraṇena na viśudhyati tato'parāṃbudvyāpekṣāntaraṃ vraṇaṅkuryāt || bhavati cātra || āyataś ca viśālaś ca sūvibhakto nirāśrayaḥ | prāptakālakṛtaś caiva vraṇaḥ karmmaṇi saśyate || sauryamāśukriyātīkṣṇaṃ śastramasvedavepathuḥ | amasaṃmohaś ca vaidyasya śastrakarmmaṇi pūjyate || yato yato gatiṃ vidyādutsaṅgo yatra yatra ca | tatra tatra vraṇaṅ kuryādyathā doṣo na tiṣṭhati || tatra bhrūgaṇulalāṭākṣikūṭakakṣāvaṃkṣaṇeṣu tiryak cheda uktaḥ | ḍeanyathā tu sirāsnāyukṣaṇanād atimātraṃ | vedanā cirācca vraṇasaṃroho mānsakandīprādurbhāvaś ca bhavati || mūḍhagarbhaudarāśmarībhagandaramukharāgeṣvabhuktavatāṃ kurvvīta || tataḥ śastramavacārya śītābhir adbhiḥ pariṣiṃcya cāturamāśvāsya ca masamantāt paripīyāṃgulyā vraṇamabhimṛsṛjya prakṣālya kaṣāyeṇa plotenodakamādāya tilakalkamadhusarppiḥpraḍhāṃ varttiṃ praṇidhāya patreṇācchādya kavalikān datvā bandhanopapādayet || vedanārakṣoghnair ddhūpaitvā || guggulvagurumasarjjarasavacāgaurasarṣapalavaṇanimbapatrājyamiśrai rājyaśeṣeṇa cāsya prāṇān samālabheta || udakumbhāccāpo gṛhītvāprokṣayan rakṣākarmma kuryāt || kṛtyānāṃparirakṣārthan tathā rakṣobhayasya ca | rakṣākarmma kariṣyāmi brahmā tadanumanyatāṃ || nāgā piśācā gandharvvā yakṣārkṣāṃsyathagrahāḥ | abhidravanti ye ye tvā brahmādyā ghnantu tān madā || pṛthivyāmantarīkṣe ca ye caranti niśācarāḥ | dikṣu vāstuni ye cānye pāntu tvā te namaskṛtāḥ || pāntu tvāmṛṣayo brāhamā vidyā rājarṣayastathā | parvvatāś caiva nadyaś ca sarvvāḥ sarvve ca sāgarāḥ || agnī rakṣatu te jihvāṃ prāṇaṃ vāyustathaiva ca | somo vyānamapāna nte parjjanyaḥ parirakṣatu || udānaṃ vidyutaḥ pāntu samānaṃ m s tanayi n t navaḥ | balamindro balapatirmmatiṃ vācaspatistathā || kāmānte pāntu gandharvvāḥ satvamindro'bhirakṣatu | prajñān te varuṇo rājā samudro nābhimaṇḍalaṃ || cakṣuḥ sūryo diśaḥ śrotrañ candramāḥ pātu te manaḥ | nakṣatrāṇi sadā rūpaṃ cchāyāṃ pātu niśā tava || retastvāpyāyayantvāpo romāṇyauṣadhayas tathā | ākāśaṃ khāni te pātu dehan tava vasundharā || vaiśvānaraḥ śiraḥ pātu viṣṇustava parākramaṃ | pauruśaṃ puruṣaśreṣṭho brahmātmānaṃ bhuvau dhruvaḥ || etā dehe viśeṣeṇa tava nityā hi devatāḥ | etāstāḥ satataṃ pāntu dīśantu ca nirāmayaṃ || etair vvedātmakair mmantraiḥ kṛtyāvyādhivināśanaiḥ | mayaivaṅ kṛtarakṣastvan dīrghamāyuravāpnuhi || tataḥ kṛtarakṣākarmmamāturamagāraṃ praveśyācārikamupadiśet tatastṛtīye'hani vimucyaivameva badhnīyān na cainaṃ tvaramāṇai rparedyurmmokṣayet dvitīyadivasamokṣaṇādvigrathito vraṇaḥ | cirādupasaṃrohatyugraruk bhavati | ata ūrddhandeśakālabalādīnyavekṣya kaṣāyālepanabandhāhārādvidadhyān || na cainaṃ tvaramāraṇaḥ sāntadoṣaṃ rohayet | sa hyalpeonāpyapacāreṇābhyantaramutsaṅgaṅ kṛtvā bhūyo vikaroti | tasmātsuśuddhaṃ bahirabhyantarataś ca vraṇaṃ saṃrohayet| rūḍhepyajīrṇavyāyāmavyavāyādīn vivarjjayet || || bha || hemante ca vasante ca śiśire cāpi mokṣayet | tryahādvyahāccharadgrīṣmavarṣāsvapi ca buddhimān || atiyātiṣu rogeṣu nekṣatainaṃ vidhiṃ bhiṣak | pradīptāṅgāravacchīghran tatra kuryāt pratikriyāṃ || yāvedanā śastranipātajātā tīvrā śarīre pratanoti jantoḥ | ghṛtena śāntimupaiti siktā koṣṇena yaṣṭīmadhukānvite neti || hya||

athāto tucaryāṃ vyākhyāmsyāmaḥ || kālo hi bhagavān svayaṃbhūr anādimadhyanidhano 'tra ramasavyāpatsampattayo jīvitamaraṇe ca manuṣyāṇām āyante mmassakṣmām api kalān na līyata iti kālaḥ || saṅkālayati kalayati vā bhūtānīti kālaḥ || tasya saṃvatsarātmano bhagavān ādityo gativiśeṣeṇa nimeṣakāṣṭhākalāmuhūrttāhorātrapakṣamāsarttcayanasaṃvatsarayugapratibhāgaṅ karoti || tatra laghvakṣinipātamātro nimeṣaḥ | pañcadaśanimeṣāḥ kāṣṭhā | triṃśatkāṣṭhā kalā | viṃśatikalā muhūrttaḥ kalāyā daśabhāgaś ca | triṃśatmuhūrttam ahorātraṃ | pañcadaśāhorātraḥ pakṣaḥ | sa dvividhaḥ kṛṣṇaḥ śuklaś ca tau māsaḥ || tatra māghādayo dvādaśa māsāḥ saṃvatsaraḥ | dvimāsikam ṛtuṅ kṛtva ṣaḍṛtavo bhavanti | te ca śiśiravasantagrīṣmavarṣāśaraddhemantāḥ teṣan tapastapsyau śiśiraḥ | madhumādhavau vasantaḥ | śuciśukrau grīṣmaḥ | nabhonabhasyau varṣāḥ | iṣorjau śarat | sahaḥsahasyau hemanta i ti || ta ete śītoṣṇavarṣavātalakṣaṇāḥ | candrādityayoḥ kālavibhāgakaratvād ayane dve bhavataḥ | dakṣiṇam uttarañ ca | tayor ddakṣiṇaṃ varṣāśaraddhemantāḥ | teṣu bhagavān āpyāyyate somaḥ | amlalavaṇamadhurāś ca rasā balavanto bhavanti | uttarottarañ ca sarvvaprāṇināṃ balam abhivardhate | uttaraṃ śiśiravasantagrīṣmāḥ | teṣu bhagavān āpyāyyate 'rkkaḥ | kaṭutiktakaṣā ya ś ca rasā balavattarā bhavanti | uttarottarañ ca prāṇināṃ balaṃ parihīyate || bhabhavati cātra || somaḥ kledayate bhūmīṃ ryaḥ śoṣayate punaḥ | tāv ubhāv api saṃśritya vāyuḥ pālayati prajāḥ || atha khalv ayane yugapat saṃvatsaro bhavati | te dve ayane varṣaḥ saṃvatsaraḥ parivatsaraḥ | iḍā vatsaraḥ | ivatsaḍoraḥ | vatsara ity evaṃ pañca pañca varṣāṇi | te pañca yugam iti saṃjñā labhante sa eṣa nimeṣādir yugaparyantaḥ kālaś cakravat parivarttamānaḥ kālacakra ity ucyate || evan dakṣiṇāyaene rātrir vvyākhyātā || iha tu varṣāśaraddhemantavasantagrīṣmaprāvṛṣaḥ ṣaḍṛtavo bhavanti | doṣopacayaprakopapraśamanimittaṃ | te tu bhādrapadādyair dvimāsike naivaṃ vyākhyātāḥ || tadyathā bhadrapadāśvayujau varṣāḥ | kārttikamārggaśīrṣau śarat | pauṣamāghau hemantaḥ | phālgunacaitrau vasantaḥ | vaiśākhajyeṣṭhau grīṣmaḥ | āṣāḍhaśrāvaṇau prāvṛḍ iti || tatra varṣāsv auṣadhyas taruṇyo 'lpavīryā āhāratvam upagatā vidahyante | āpaś cāprasannāḥ kṣitimalaprāyās tās tūpayujyamānā nabhasi meghāvatate jalapraklinnāyāṃ bhūmau klinnadehānān dehināṃ śītavātavarṣaviṣṭambhitāgnīnāṃ vidahyante | sa vidāhāt pittasañcayam āpādayanti | sa sañcayaḥ śaraidi praviralameṇa vilayaty upaśuṣyati paṅkārkakiraṇapravilāpinaḥ paittikān vyādhīn janayati | tā evauṣadhayaḥ kālapariṇāmāt pariṇatavīryā balavatyo hemaṃte bhavanti | āpaś ca praśāntāḥ | snigdhā atyarthaṅ gurvvyastā upayujyamānāḥ | mandakiraṇatvād bhānoḥ satuṣāropaṣṭaṃbhitadehānān dehināma vidagdhāḥ mnehād gauravād upalepitvāc ca śleṣmaṇaḥ sañcayam āpādayanti | sa sañcayo vasante 'rkkakiraṇapravilāpinaḥ śleṣmikān vyādhīn janayati | tā evauṣadhyo grīṣmaniḥsārā rūkṣā atimātra laghvyo bhavaty āpaś ca tā upayujyamānāḥ | mūryapratāpopaśoṣitadehānāṃ dehināṃ raukṣyāl lāghavāc ca vāyoḥ sañcayam āpādayanti | sa sañcayaḥ prāvṛṣi cātyarthañ jalopaklinnāyāṃ bhūmau yāti klinnadehānāndehināṃ śītavātavarṣerito vātikān vyādhīn janayati | evam eṣan doṣāṇāṃ sañcayaprakopahetur uktāḥ || tatra varśāhemantagrīṣmeṣu sañcitānāṃ doṣāṇāṃ śaradvasantaprāvṛṭsu ca prakupitānāṃ nirharaṇaṃ | tatra paittikānāṃ vyādhīnāṃ hemante vyupaśamaḥ | ślaiṣmikānāṃ nidāghe vātikānāṃ śaradi | svabhāvatas tv eḍote sañcayaprakopopaśamākhyātāḥ || tatra divasa pūrvvāhṇe vasantasya liṅgaṃ | madhyāhne grīṣmasya | aparāhṇe prāvṛḍliṇgaṃ | pradoṣe vārṣikāṃ | śāradam ardharātre | pratyuṣadvimisi hemantam upalakṣayet | evam ahorātram api varṣam iva śītoṣṇavarṣadoṣopacayaprakopopaśamair jjānīyāt || tatra vyāpanneṣv ṛtuṣv avyāpannā oṣadhayo bhavanty āpaś ca | tāṃ tūpayujyamānāḥ prāṇāyurbbalavīryaujaskaryo bhavanti | ṃ punar vyāpado dṛṣṭakāritāni ṣītoṣṇavātavarṣāṇi | khalu viparītāny auṣadhīr vyāpādayanty āpaś ca || m upayogād vividharogaprādurbhāvo marako vā bhavati || kadācid avyāpanneṣv api kṛtyābhiśāparakṣaḥkrodhād adharmair uṣasyante janapadāḥ | viṣauṣadhipuṣpagandhena vā vāyunopanītena | kāsaśvāsapratisyāyaśirorogajvarair upatapyante prajāḥ | grahanakṣatracaritair vvā | śayanāmasanayānavāhanamaṇiratnopakaraṇagarhitalakṣaṇaprādurbhāvair vvā jāto 'tra | parityāga śānti prāyaścitta bali maṅgala japa homopahārejyāñjali namaskāra tapo niyama dayā dāna dīkṣābhyupagama devatā brāhmaṇa guru parair bhavitavyam e aṃ sādhur bhavati || bha bhavati cātra || svaguṇair api yukteṣu viparīteṣu vā punaḥ | viṣameṣv api vā doṣā kupyanty ṛtuṣu dehinām iti|| bhra||

athāto yantravidhim adhyāyaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || tvahyātsasandhiśrotaḥ snāyvasthikoṣṭhagataśalyād dharaṇārtham upadiśyate | yantraśatam ekottaram atra hastayantram eva pradhānatamaṃ yantrāṇām avagaccha tadadhīnatvād yantrakarmmaṇāṃ || tatra manaḥśarīrābādhakarāṇi śalyāni teṣāmābharaṇopāyo yantrāṇi tāni ṣaṭprakārāṇi bhavanti | tad yathā || svastikayantrāṇi | sandaṃśayantrāṇi | tāḍayantrāṇi | nāḍīyantrāṇi | śalākāyantrāṇi | upayantrāṇi ceti || tatra caturvviṃśatiḥ svastikayantrāṇi | dve sadaṃśayantre | dve eva tāḍayantre | viṃśatināḍyaḥ | aṣṭāviṃśati śalākāḥ | pañcaviṃśatir upayantrāṇiṇīti | tāni prāyaśo lohāni bhavanti | tatpratirūpakāṇi vā tadalābhe tatra nānāprakārāṇāṃ vyāḍoḍānāṃ mṛgapakṣiṇāṃ mukhair mmukhāni yantrāṇāṃ prāyaśaḥ sadṛśāni bhavanti | tasmātt sārūpyād āgamādupadeśād anyatradarśanāt | tṛ yuktitaś ca kārayet || samāhitāni yantrāṇi kharaślakṣṇamukhāni ca | sudṛḍhāni surūpāṇi sugrahāṇi ca kārayet || svastikayantrāṇy aṣṭādaśāṅgulāni | siṃhavyāghratarakṣvṛkṣakadvīpimārjjāraśṛgālamṛgervvārukākakaṅkakuraracāsabhāsaśaśadyātyulūkacīrillaśyenagṛddhrotkrosabhṛṅgarājāñjalikarṇṇāvabhañjananandimukhamukhāni | masūrākṛtibhiḥ kīlair avaddhāni | mūleṅkuśavaṭavṛttavāraṅgāṇi | asthividaṣṭaśalyoddharaṇārtham upadiśyante || sanigrahānugrahau saṃdaṃśau ṣoḍaśāṅgulau | tvagmāṃsasirāsnāyugataśalyoddharaṇārtham upadiśyete | tāḍayantre dve | dvādaśāṅgule matsyanālakavadekanālake karṇṇanāsāśrotrogataśalyoddharaṇārthaṃ | nāḍīyantrāṇyanekaprakārāṇya nekaprayojanānyanekatomukhānyubhayatomukhāni | śrotogataglaśalyoddharaṇārthaṃ kriyāsaukaryārthamācūṣaṇārthaṃ rogadarśanārthañ ca | tāni srotodvārapariṇāhāni yathāyogapradīrghāṇi bhavanti | tatra bhagandarārṇo'rbbudavraṇabastyuttarabastimūtravṛddhidakodaradhūmaniruddhaprakāśasanniruddhagudayantrāṇy alāśṛṅgayantrāṇi copariṣṭād vakṣyāmaḥ | śalākāyantrāṇyapi nānāprakārāṇi nānāprayojanāni yathāyogapariṇāhapradīrghāṇi bhavanti | teṣāṃ gaṇḍūpadaśarapuṅkhasarppahanu | baḍiśamukhe dve dve | eṣaṇadavyūhanacālanāharaṇārtham upadiśyante | masūradalamātramukhe dve | kiṃcid ānatāgre srotogataśalyāddharaṇārthaṃ ṣaṭ kārpyāmasakṛtoṣṇīṣṇāṇi | pramārjjanakriyāsu | kṣārauṣadhapraṇidhānārthan trīṇi darvvyākṛtīni khallamukhāni | jaṃbbaṣṭajambujasavadanānyagnikarmmāṇi trīṇi trīṇi | nāmārbbudaharaṇārtham ekaṃ kolāsthidalabhaya3mātraṃ khallatīkṣṇoṣṭhaṃ | añjanārtham ekaṃ kalāyaparimaṇḍalam ubhayato mukulāgraṃ | mūḍotramārggaviśudhyartham ekaṃ mālatīpuṣpavṛttāgrapramāṇaparimaṇḍalam iti | upayantrāṇyapi rajjuveṇikācarmmāntavalkalalatāvastrāṣṭhīlāmsmāntam udgarapāṇipādatalāṅgulijihva(hvā)dantanakhamukhalāśmaśākhāṣṭhīvanapravāhanaharṣāmaskārttagatani kṣārāgnibheṣajāni ceti || etāni dehe sarvvasmin dehamssyāvayave tathā | sandhau koṣṭhe dhamanyā ca yathāyogaṃ prayojayet || yantrakarmmāṇi tu duṣṭavraṇabandhanavyañjanavarttanabhrāmaṇapīḍanatāḍananivaraṇavivaraṇasīvanamārggaśodhanavikarṣaṇāharaṇāñchanonnamanaviramaṇabhañjanonmathanacūṣaṇaiṣaṇadāraṇaṛjūkaraṇaprakṣālanapradhamanapramārjjanāni caturvviṅśatir bhavati || svaburdhyā vibhajedyujyāyantrakarmmāṇi buddhimān | asaṃkhyeyavikalpatvāc chalyānām iti niścayaḥ || tatrātisthūlam asāram atidīrgha matihrsvamagrāhi vakraṃ sithilam atyunnataṃ mṛdukīlaṃ mṛdupāsaṃ mṛdumukham iti dvādaśa yantrantrādoṣāḥ || etair ddoṣair vvimuktaṃ tu yantram aṣṭādaśāṅgulaṃ | praśastaṃ bhiṣajā jñeyaṃ tadvi karmmasu yojayet || dṛśyaṃ siṃhamukhādyais tra gūḍhaṃ kaṅkamukhādibhiḥ | śalyaṃ svastikyantraistra nirharet ta bhiṣakchanaiḥ || vivarttate sādhv avagāhate ca gṛhṇāti gṛhyoddharate ca yasmāt | yasmāt smṛtaṃ kaṅkamukhaṃ pradhānaṃ sthāneṣu sarvveṣv avikāriyac ceti || ṅ ||

athātaḥ śastrāvacāraṇīyam adhyāyaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || ekaviṃśatiḥ śastrāṇi bhavanti | tad yathā || maṇḍalāgrārddhamaṇḍalāgra| karapatra vṛddhipatra nakhaśastra mudrikotpalapatrakādhyarddhadhārā sūcī kuśapatrāṭāmukha śarārīmukhāntarmmukha trikurccaka kuṭhārikā| vrīhimukhārā| vetasapatra baḍiśa dantaśaṃkveṣaṇya iti | tatra maṇḍalāgram arddhamaṇḍalāgrakarapatrāṇi cchedane lekhane copadiśyante | vṛddhipatra nakhaśastra mudrikotpalapatrakādhyarddhadhārāṇi bhedane cchedane copayujyante | sūcī kuṭhārikā vrīhimukhārā vetasapatrāṇi vedhane | eṣaṇy eṣaṇe | anulomāḥ karīrāḥ śastravṛttāś ca | sūcī baḍiśadanta śakuś cāharaṇe | kuśapatrāṭāmukhaśarārimukhāntarmmukhatrikurccakāni viśrāvaṇe | sūcī sīvyana ity aṣṭavidhaḥ | śastrāṇāṃ karmmāṇy upayogo vyākhyātaḥ || teṣāṃ yathāyogaṃ grahaṇaṃ | karmmasv eṣa śastragrahaṇasamāsaḥ | vṛddhipatraṃ tu vṛttaphalasādhāraṇe bhāge gṛhṇīyāt | bhedanāny evaṃ sarvvāṇi | vṛddhipatravad arddhamaṇḍalāgraṃ kiṃcid uttānapāṇinā lekhane bahuśo vacārya vṛttāgreṇa viśrāvaṇāni | viśeṣeṇa tu bālavṛddhasukumārabhīrunārīṇāṃ rājñāṃ rājamātrāṇāṃ vā trikurccakena viśrāvayet | talapracchādita vṛttāgram aṅguṣṭhapradeśinībhyāṃ vrīhimukhaṃ | kuṭhārikām vāmahastagṛhītapucchān dakṣiṇahastāṅguṣṭhāvaṣṭabdhayā madhyamayāṅgulyā nihanyāt | tatra karapatrārāvetasapatrabaḍiśadanta śaṃkveṣaṇīr mmūle pradeśinīprayuktaṃ | mudrikāsadṛśan nakhākāraśastramukhañ caturvvedhanaṃ sūkṣma torāvabaddhaṃ mudrikāśastran teṣān teṣān nāmabhir evākṛtayaḥ prāyeṇa vyākhyātāḥ | tatra nakhavarddhanaiṣaṇyāv aṣṭāṅgulyau sūcyo vakṣyante | śeṣāṇi tu ṣaḍaṅgulāni tāni sugrahāṇi sudhārāṇi surūpāṇi sulohāni sudhautāni samāñcitamukhāni ceti śastrasampat | tatra dhārā bhedanānāṃ māsurī | lekhanānām arddham a ā rī | vedhyānām viśrāvaṇāñ ca kaiśikī | chedanānām arddhakaiśikī | baḍiśadantaśaṃku cānatāgre | tīkṣṇakaṇṭakaprathamayavapatramukhī yavapatrā eṣaṇī gaṇḍūpadākāramukhī ceti || tatra vakraṃ | kuṇṭhaṃ khaṇḍa kharadhārātisthūlam atyalpam atidīrgham atihrasvam ity aṣṭau śastradoṣāḥ | ato viparītaguṇam ādadyād anyatra karapatrāt | tad dhi kharadhāram asthicchedanārthaṃ | teṣān nimānī ślakṣṇasilikā dhārāsaṃpādanārthaṃ śālmalīphalakañ ceti || 0 || yadā suniśitaṃ śastraṃ romavāhi susaṃsthitaḥ | sugṛhītaṃ pramāṇena tadā śastran nipātayet || anuśastrāṇi tvak_kṣāra sphaṭika kāca kuravinda jalaukāgni nakhapatrāṇi śiśūnāṃ śastrabhīrūṇām anuśastrāṇi yojayet | tvak_kṣārādicaturvvarggam bhedye cchedye ca buddhimān || āhārye cchedye bhede ca nakhaṃ śakyeṣu yojayet | vidhiḥ pravakṣyate paścād agnikṣārajalaukasāṃ | ye syur mmukhagatā rogā netravarmmagatāś ca ye | gojī śephālikā śākapatrair vviśrāvayet tu tāṃ || śastrāny etāni matimān śuddhasaikyāyasāni tu | kārayet karaṇaprāptaḥ karmmāraḥ karmmakovida iti || 8|| 0 ||

athāto viśikhānupraveśanīyaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || adhigatatantreṇaupāsitatantrārthena dṛṣṭakarmmaṇā kṛtayogyena śāstrārthaṃ nigadatā rājānujñātena vaidyena viśikhā caritavyā | nīcanakharomṇā ṣucinā śucivastraparihitena cchatravatā sopānatkenānuddhataveṣena sumanasā kalyāṇābhivyāhāreṇākuhakena bandhubhūtena bhūtānāṃ sahāyavatā | tato dūtanimittaśakunamaṅgalānulomyenāturagṛhamāgamyopaviśyā turamabhipaśyet spṛśet pṛcchec ca tribhir etair vvijñānopāyaiḥ | dīrghamāyuṣo'lpāyuśo veditavyā | tatra dṛṣṭvā śarīropacayāpayauvaṇṇavaikṛticchāyāñ cāturasya bhiṣagjānīyāt | spṛṣṭvā śītoṣṇādīn sparśaviśeṣā viparītā viparītān jvaraśophādīn || pṛṣṭvā deśaṃ kālañ cātitmyamātaṅkamutpatti vedanāsamucchrāyo balābalamagniṃ vātamūtrapurīṣāṇāma pravṛttipravṛttīñ ceti || bhavati cātra || mithyādṛṣṭyā vikārā hi durākhyātāstathaiva ca | tathā duṣparispṛṣṭāś ca mohayeyuś cikitsakaṃ || tasmāt parīkṣyaḥ satataṃbhiṣajāsiddhimicchatā | yuktito vyādhayaḥ sarvve pramāṇair ddarśanādibhiḥ || evam abhisamīkṣya sādhyāṃ sādhayed yāpyān yāpayed asādhyān nopakramet | parisaṃvatsaroṣitānś ca vikārān prāyaśaḥ parivarjjayet || tatra sādhyā api ḍo vyādhayaḥ prāyaśo duścikitsā bhavanti | śrotriyanṛpatistrībālavṛddhabhīrudurbbalavaidyavidagdhavyādhigūhakadaridrakṛpaṇakrodhanānātmavatāt || bhavati cātra || strībhiḥ ñ sahāmsyaṃ saṃvādaṃ parihāsañ ca varjjayet | dattantābhir nna gṛhṇīyād annād anyad bhiṣadeti || ḍo || vedotpattiśiṣyadīkṣādānam adhyayanasya ca | prabhāṣaṇañ cāgraharaṃ mṛtucaryā tathaiva ca || yantraṃ śastrāvacārañ ca yogyā trīyam eva ca | viśikhānupraveśañ ca proktaṃ vai prathamo daśa || ḍo ||
athātaḥ kṣārapākavidhim adhyāyaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || anuśastrebhyaḥ kṣāraḥ pradhānatamo bhavati | cchedyabhedyalekhyakaraṇādviśeṣakriyāvacāraṇācca | tatra kṣaraṇāt kṣaṇanādvā kṣāraḥ | nānauṣadhisamavāyāttridoṣaghnaḥ | śuklatvā t saumyas tasya saumyasyāpi sato dadahanapacanadāraṇaśaktir aviruddhā | sa khalv āgneyauṣadhibhūyiṣṭhāt kaṭukaḥ | uṣṇastīkṣṇaḥ pācano vilāyanaḥ | śodhano ropaṇaḥ śoṣaṇaḥ stambhanollekhana krimyāmakaphaviṣamedasām upahantā puṃstvasya cātisevitaḥ | sa dvividhaḥ pratisāraṇīyaḥ | pānīyaś ca tatra pratisāraṇīyaḥ | kuṣṭhakiṭibhadardrumaṇḍalakilāsabhagandarārśo'rbbudaduṣṭavraṇanāḍīcarmakīlatilakālakanacchavyaṅgabāhyakrimiviṣādiṣu copadiśyate || saptasu ca mukharogeṣūpajihvopakuśadantavaidarbhamedajoṣṭhaprakopeṣu trisṛṣu ca rohiṇīṣu eteṣvevānuśastrapātanamuktaṃ | pānīyastu gulmodarāgnisaṅgājīrṇṇānāhaśarkkarāśmaryabhyantarakrimiviṣārśaḥcopayujyate || tasya vistaro'nyatra arthetara cikīrṣuḥ śaradi śucir upavasan praśastadeśajātam anupahataṃ madhyamavayasaṅ kāla muṣkakam adhivāsyāparedyuḥ pātayitvā kāṇḍasaḥ prakalpya nivātadeśe citiṅ kṛtvātilanālair ādīpayet | yathopaśānte'gnau tadbhasma pṛthaggṛhṇīyāt | bhasmaśarkkarāś ca || athānenaiva kalpena kuṭajapalāśāśvakarṇṇapāribhadrakabibhītakāragvadhatilvakārkkasnuhāpāmārgganaktamālavṛṣakadalīcitrakendranduyavṛkṣāsphotāśvamārakasaptacchadāgnimanḥ || catasraḥ kośātakyaḥ samūlaphalaśākhāpatrān dahet tataḥ kṣāradroṇam udakadroṇaiḥ ṣaḍbhir āloḍya mūtraiś ca yathoktair mmahati kaṭāhe śanaiḥ śanair ddarvyāvaghaṭṭayan vipacet sa yadā bhavatyaccho raktastīkṣṇāḥ picchilaś ca tam ādāyeta raṃ saṃsṛjya punar api pāka yādhiśrayet tata eva cakṣārodaka kuḍavamadhyarddhaṅ kṛtvā panayet tataḥ kaṭaśarkkarābhasmaśarkkarā ś ca | ḍo kṣīre pakaśaṃkhanābhīragnivarṇṇāḥ kṛtyāyase pātre tasmin kṣārodake niṣicya | piṣṭvā tathaiva ca pratīvāyo yathā lābhaṃ dantīcitrakalāṅgalīpūtīkapravālatālapattrī viḍasauvarccikākanakakṣīrīhiṃguvacātiviṣāśuktīḥślakṣṇacūrṇṇāṅ kṛtvā nidadhyāt | satatamapramattaś ca darvvyāvaghaṭayan vipacet | sa yathā nātisāndro nātidravaś ca bhavati tathā prayateta | athainamāgatapākamavatāryānuguptamāyase kumbhe nidadhyāt | kṣīṇabale ca kṣārodakamāvapedbalakaraṇārthaṃ || bhavati || naivātitīkṣṇo na mṛduḥ śuklaḥ ślakṣṇoti picchilaḥ | aviṣyandī śivaḥ śīghraḥ kṣāro hy aṣṭaguṇaḥ smṛtaḥ || atyauṣṇamatipaicchilyamatitaikṣṇyavisarppitā | atyarthaṃ mārddavaṃ śaityamatyarthaṃ sāndrameva ca || hīnauṣadhyavipakvatvaṃ kṣāra doṣa nava smṛtāḥ || tatra kṣārasādhyavyādhiṃvyādhitam upaveśya nivātā saṃbādhe deśe agropaharaṇīyoktopasaṃbhārasaṃbhṛtatanoḥ | anyatamamavaghṛṣyāvalikhya pracchayitvā vā śalākayā kṣāraṃ pratisārya vākchatamātram upaikṣeta || tasmin nipatite vyādhau kṛṣṇatā dagdhalakṣaṇaṃ | tatrāvarggaḥ samanaḥ sarppirmmadhusamāyutaḥ || atha cet sthiramūlatvāt kṣāradagdhan na dīryate | idamālepanan tatra śīghraṃ samavacārayet || amlakāñjikabījānāṃ tilāṃ madhukameva ca | prapiṣya samabhāgāni tenaivamanulepayet || tilakalkaḥ samadhuko ghṛtākto vraṇalepaṇaḥ | rasenāmlena tīkṣṇena vīryoṣṇena tathaiva ca || āgneyaināgni sadṛśaḥ kathaṃ kṣāraḥ praśāmyati | evañ cenmanyase vatsa procyamānaṃ śṛṇuṣva me || amlavarjyārasāṃ kṣāre sarvvāneva vibhāvayet | kaṭukas tatra bhūyiṣṭho lavaṇonurasas tathā | amlena masaha saṃyuktaḥ sutīkṣṇolavaṇo rasaḥ | mādhūryamāśu vrajati tīkṣṇabhāvañ ca muñcati || mādhūryayogān na dahed agnir agnir ivāplutaḥ || tatra samyagdagdhe vikāropasamo lāghavamanāśrāvaś ca || hīnetodadakaṇḍūjāḍyādi vyādhivṛddhiś ca |ḍo atidagdhe dāhapākaśrāmāṅgamarddaklamāḥ pipāsāmaraṇañ ceti | kṣāradagdhavraṇañ ca yathādoṣaṃ yathāvyādhiñ copakrameta || atha kṣārakṛtyā bhavanti || durbbalaḍebālasthavirabhīrusarvvāṅgaśūnodarīgarbhbhiṇītumatīpravṛddhajvarīpramehīrūkṣakṣatakṣīṇatṛṣṇāmūrcchopadrutaklībā uddhṛtodvṛttaphalayonayaś ca tathā marmmasirāsnāyusandhitaruṇāsthisevanīgalanābhinakhāntarasephaḥśrotaḥsvalpamāṃsa pradeśeṣvakṣṇoś ca na dadyādanyatra varmmarogāt || tatra kṣārasādhyeṣv api vyādhiṣu nagātram asthiśūlinam annadveṣiṇaṃ hṛdayasandhipīḍopadrutañ ca kṣāro na sādhayati || bhavati cātra || viṣāgniśastrāśanimṛtyutulpaḥ kṣāro bhavatyalpamatiprayuktaḥ | satvapramattena sadāprayukto rogān nihanyād acireṇa ghorānn iti || ḍo e || ||
athāto 'gnikarmmavidhim vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || kṣārādagnirggarīyān kriyāsu vyākhyātās taddagdhānāṃ rogāṇām apunarbhavāt | svedaśastratakṣārair aśakyānāntat sādhanāc ca || athaimāni dahanopakaraṇāni bhavanti | pippalyajāsakṛdgodantaśaraśalākājaṃbboṣṭhetaralāha kṣaudraguḍasnehādīni | tatra pippalyajāśakṛdgodantaśaraśalākāstvaggatānāṃ | jaṃbboṣṭhetaralāhā mānsagatānāṃ | kṣaudraguḍasnehāḥ sirāsnāyusandhyasthigatānāṃ | tatrāgnikarmma sarvvarttuṣu kuryād anyatra śaradgrīṣmābhyāṃ | tatrāpyātyayike 'gnisādhye vyādhau tatpratyanīkaṃ vidhiṃ kṛtvā sarvvavyādhiṣv ṛtuṣu ca picchilam annaṃ bhuktavataḥ | tatra dvividhamagnidagdhamāhureke | tvagdagdhaṃ mānsadagdhañ ca | iha tu sirāsnāyuṣusandhyasthiṣv api na pratiṣiddho 'gniḥ || tatra śabdaprādurbhāvo durggandhatā tvaksaṃkocaś ca tvagdagdhe | kapotavarṇṇatālpaśvayathuvedanatā śuṣkasaṃkukuñcicitavraṇatā ca māṃmasadagdhe | kṛṣṇonnatavraṇatā srāvamasannirodhaś ca misisnāyudagdhe rūkṣatāruṇatā karkkaśasthiravraṇatā ca sandhyasthidagdhe || tatra śirorogādhimanthayorlalāṭaśaṃkhadeśeṣu dahed vartmmarogeṣvārddranaktakapraticchannān dṛṣṭiṃ kṛtvā vartmmaromakūpāṃ | tvadyāṃsasirāsnāyusandhyasthigatamugrarujaṃje vāyuṃvāyau | duṣṭavraṇamucchritakaṭhinamāṃ sagranthyarbbudāpacīgalagaṇugṛddhrasīmasakagulmodarabhagandarārśaḥsandhiślīpadacarmmakīlatilakālakasithaṃrāccheda nāḍīśoṇitātipravṛttiṣu cāgnikarmma kuryāt | tatra valayabindurekhāpratisāraṇañ ceti | dahanaviśeṣāḥ || bhavati cātra || rogasya saṃsthānamavekṣya dhīmān narasya marmmāṇi balābalañ ca | vyādhin tatharttuñ ca samīkṣya samyak tato vyavasyed bhiṣag agnikarmma || tatra samyagdagdheṣu madhusarppirabhyaṅgoḥ || athemāni pariharet pittaprakṛtimantaḥśoṇitaṃ | bhinnakoṣṭhamanuddhṛtaśalyaṃ bālavṛddhabhīrudurbbalamanekavyādhipīḍitamasvedyāṃś ca || ata ūrddhvamitarathādagdhaṃ vakṣyāmaḥ || tatra snigdhaṃ rūkṣañ cāśritya dravyamagnirddahati | atisantapto hi snehaḥ sūkṣmamārggānusāritvāttvagādīnanupraviśyāśu dahati | tasmāt snehadagdhedhikā rujā bhavati || tatra pluṣṭaṃ durddagdhaṃ samyagdagdhamatidagdhamiti caturvvidhamagnidagdhaṃ bhavati | tatra yadvivarṇṇaṃ uṣyate 'timātrantat pluṣṭaṃ | yatrotpatti sphoṭanāstīvradāhadoṣavedanā cirāccopaśāmyati tadduruddagdhaḥ | samyakdagdhamanavagāḍhaṃ pakvatālavarṇṇaṃ susaṃsthita pūrvvalakṣaṇasaṃyuktañ ca | atidagdhe tu māṃsāvalaṃbanaṃ gātraviśleṣaḥ sandhi vaiguṇyaṃ sirāsnāyusandhyasthivyāpādanaṃ jvaradāhapipāsāmūrcchā copadravā bhavanti || sakrimiś cet | vraṇaś cāsya cireṇopaharotyuparūḍhaś ca vivarṇṇo bhavati | tadetaccaturvvidhamagnidagdhalakṣaṇamānupūrvvoktaṃpūrvvakarmmaprasādhakaṃpradhānaṃ bhavati || bhavati cātra || agninā kopitaṃ pittaṃ bhṛśañ jantoḥ pradhāvati | tatastenaiva vegena raktañ cāpyupadīryate || tulyavīrye 'pyubhe hyete rasato dravyatas tathā | tenāsya vedanātīvrā prakṛtyā ca vidahyate || sphoṭāḥ śīghraṃ prajāyante jvarastṛṣṇā ca bādhate | dagdhasyopaśamārthāya cikitsā saṃpravakṣyate || pluṣṭasyāgnipratapanaṃ kāryamuṣṇan tathauṣadhaṃ | śare svinnabhūyiṣṭhe svinnaṃ bhavati śoṇitaṃ || prakṛtyā hyudakaṃ śītaṃ skandayatyathaśoṇithaṃ etaṃ | tasmāt sukhayati hyuṣṇan natu śītaṃ kathañcana || śītāmuṣṇāñ ca durddagdhe kriyāṃ kuryāt tataḥ punaḥ | ghṛtālepanasekāstu śītānevāsya kārayet || samyagdagdhe tukākṣīrīplakṣacandanagairikaiḥ | sāmṛtaiḥ sarppiṣāyuktai rālepaṅ kārayed bhiṣak || grāmyānūpaiḥ sajalajaiḥ piṣṭair mmāṃsaiś ca lepayet | pittavidradhivaccainaṃ praśāṃtyoṣmānamācaret || atidagdhe tu śīrṇṇāni māṃsānyuddhṛtya śītalāṃ | kriyāṃ kuryāccūrṇṇakāle śālitaṇḍulakaṇḍanaiḥ || tindukyātvakkaṣāyair vvā mṛdubhṛṣṭhair upācaret | vraṇaṃ guḍūcīpatrair vvā chādayed athacoḍakaiḥ || kriyāṅ kuryāc ca nikhilāṃ bhiṣak pittavisarppavat || athedānīṃ dhūmopahatavidhānaṃ vakṣyāmaḥ | śvasityādhmāti cātyarthaṃ kāsatekṣavate bhṛśaṃ | cakṣuṣaḥ paridāhaś ca rāgaś caivopajāyate || samadhūkan niśvasiti ghreyam anyanna vetti ca | tathaiva ca rasān sarvvān smṛtiś cāsyopahanyate || tṛṣṇādāhajvarayutaḥ sīdatyarthañ ca mūrcchati | dhūmopahata ityeṣa śṛṇu tasya cikitsitaṃ || sarppirikṣuraso drākṣā payo vā śarkkarāṃbu vā | madhurāmlān rasāś cāpi vamanārthāya dāpayet || vamataḥ śudhyate koṣṭhadhūma gandhaś ca naśyati | anena vidhinā tasya kāsaś cāsau praṇasyataḥ || ādhmānajvaraś caiva tṛṣṇā dāhas tathaiva ca | madhurair llavaṇāmlaiś ca kaṭukaiḥ kavaḍagrahaiḥ || ntasya kaṇṭhaśuddhiḥ syāddhūmagandhaś ca naśyati | samyaggṛhṇātī viṣayān manaś cātra prasīdati || śirovirecanaṃ cāsmai dadyādyogena śāstravit | tenāsya śudhyate dṛṣṭiḥ śiraś caivāsya dehinaḥ || avidāhi laghu snigdhamāhārañ cāsya kalpayet | uṣṇavātātapair ddagdhe śītaḥ kāryo vidhiḥ sadā || śītavarṣānilahate uṣṇa snigdhaś ca śasyate | tathātitejasā dagdhe siddhir nnaikāntikī bhaved iti || 10 2 || 0 ||
athāto jalāyuṣkādhyāyam vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || nṛpāḍhya sukumāra bāla sthavira bhīru nārīṇām anugrahārthaṃ paramasukumāro yaṃ śoṇitāvasenopāyo 'bhihito jalaukasaḥ || tatra vātapittakaphaduṣṭaśoṇitaṃ yathāsaṃkhyaṃ śṛṅgajalaukālāvubhir avasecayet | sarvvāṇi sarvvair vvā viśeṣas tu visrāvyaṃ || bhavanti cātra || snigdhaṃ ślakṣṇaṃ sumadhuraṃ gavāṃ śṛṅgaṃ prakīrttitaṃ | tasmād vātopasṛṣṭe tu hitan tad avasecane || arddhacandrākṛti mahattanu saptāṅgulāyataṃ | pracchite dāpayet pūrvvam āsyenācūṣayed balī || śītādhivāsā madhurā jalaukā vārisaṃbhavā | tasmāt pittopasṛṣṭe tu hitās tā avasecane || kaṭurūkṣañ ca tīkṣṇañ ca alābu parikīrttitaṃ | tasmāc chleṣmopasṛṣṭe tu hitan tad avasecane || tatra pracchite tanu basti paṭalāvanaddhena śṛṅgeṇa śoṇitam avasecayet | ācūṣaṇād antarddīptenālāvunā | jalam āsām āyur ity ato jalāyukāḥ || oko nivāso jalam āsām oka ity ato jalaukasaḥ || tā dvādaśa | saviṣāḥ ṣaṭ | tāvantya eva nirvviṣāḥ | kṛṣṇā karbburā alagarddā indrāyudhā sāmudrikā govandanā ceti | tāsv añjanavarṇṇā pṛthuśirṣā kṛṣṇā nāma | carmmimatsyavad āyatā cchinnonnatakukṣiḥ karbburā nāma | romaṣā mahāpārśvā kṛṣṇamukhā alagarddā nāma | indrāyudhavad ūrddhvarājī citrā indrāyudhā nāma | īṣadasitapītikā vicitrapuṣpākṛticitā sāmudrikā nāma | govṛṣaṇavad adhobhāge dvidhābhūtākṛtir aṇumukhī govandanā nāma | tābhir ddaṣṭe daṃśe śvayathur atimātraṃ kaṇḍūmūrcchā jvaro dāhaś charddir iti liṅgāni bhavanti || tatra mahāgadaḥ | pānālepanādiṣūpayojyāḥ | indrāyudhādaṣṭam asādhyam ity etāḥ saviṣāḥ sacikitsitā vyākhyātāḥ || atha nirvviṣāḥ | kapilā piṅgalā śaṅkumukhī mūṣikā puṇḍarīkamukhī sāvarikā ceti | tatra manaḥśilārañjitābhyām iva pārśvābhyāṃ pṛṣṭhe snigdhamudgavarṇṇā kapilā nāma || kiñcidraktā vṛttakāyā piṅgalyāśugā piṅgalā nāma | yakṛdvarṇṇā śīghrapāyinī dīrghamukhī śaṅkumukhī nāma| mūṣikākṛtivarṇṇāniṣṭagandhā mūṣikānāma mudgavarṇṇā puṇḍarīkatulyavaktrā puṇḍarīkā nāma padmapatravarṇṇāṣṭādaśāṅgulapramāṇā sāvarikā nāma | sā paśvarthe tv aviṣā vyākhyātāḥ || tāsāṃ yavanapāṇḍyasahya potanādīni kṣetrāṇi bhavanti | tāsāṃ mahāśarīrā balavatyaḥ śīghrapāyinyo mahāśanā nirvviṣāś ca viśeṣeṇa bhavanti | tatra saviṣa kīṭa darddura mūtra purīṣa kotha jātāḥ kaluṣeṣv ambhaḥsu ca saviṣāḥ | padmotpala kumuda saugandhika śevāla kotha jātā vimale 'mbhaḥsu ca nirviṣāḥ || bhavati cātra || kṣetreṣu vicaranty etāḥ salilāḍhyasugandhiṣu | na ca saṅkīrṇṇacāriṇyo na ca paṃkeśayāḥ smṛtāḥ || tāsāṃ grahaṇam ārdracarmmaṇānyair vvā prayogair ggṛhītvā | athaitā nave mahati ghaṭe sarastaḍākodakapaṅkān āvāpya nidadhyāt | bhaktyārthañ cāsām upaharet | śevālaṃ vallūraṃm odakām̐ś ca kandām̐ś cūrṇīkṛtya | śayyārthe tṛṇam odakāni patrāṇi tryahāt tryahāc cāsāṃ jalabhaktan dadyāt | saptarātrāt saptarātrād ghaṭaṭām anyaṃ saṅkrāmayet || bhavati cātra ślokaḥ || sthūlamadhyā parikliṣṭā tanvyaś cākṣetrajāś ca yāḥ | agrāhiṇyo 'lpapāyinyaḥ saviṣāś ca na poṣayet || atha jalaukāvasekasādhyaṃ vyādhiṃ vyādhitam upaveśya saṃveśya vā virūkṣya tam avakāśaṃ mṛdgomayacūrṇṇair yad yat sarujā syād atha jalaukasaḥ sarṣaparajanī pradigdha gātryaḥ salilasarakamadhyasañcāriṇī vigatamalāḥ kṛtvā | rogaṅ grāhayet | atha na gṛhṇatyāḥ kṣīrabinduṃ śoṇitabinduṃ vā nidadhyāt | śastrapadāni vā kurvvīta | athaivam api na gṛhṇīyāt | anyāṅ grāhayed yadā niviśate śvakhuravad ānanaṅ kṛtvonnāmya ca ca skandham eva pāṭhaḥ | 3kandhaṃ evañ jānīyātd gṛhṇātīti | athainām ārddraplotāvacchannaṅ kṛtvā dhārayet || atha daṃśe toda kaṇḍū prādur bhāvā jānīyāc chuddham ādadātīti tām apanayet | atha śoṇitagandhena na muñcet | mukham asyāḥ saindhavacūrṇenāvakiret | athaināṃ śāli taṇḍula kāṇḍana praliptān taila lavaṇonbhyaktamukhīṃ vāmahastāgṛhītapucchān dakṣiṇahastāṃgulībhyāṃ śanaiḥ śanair anulomamārjjayann ā mukhād vāmayed yāvat samyagvānteti | samyagvāntā salilasarake nyastā bhoktukāmā masatī cared yā sīdati na ceṣṭate | sā durvvāntāṃ punaḥ samyag vāmayet | durvāntāyās tu indrapado nāma vyādhir asādhyo bhavati || aprahṛṣṭaśiraḥ pātya kāyenodveṣṭate sakṛt | yā coṣṇaṃ kurute toyan tasyām indrapadaḥ smṛtaḥ || athaināṃ pūrvvavat sannidadhyāt | śoṇitasya ca yogāyogam avekṣya jalaumukhaṃ madhunāvaghaṭṭayet| badhnīta vā kaṣāyamadhurasnigdhaśītaiś ca pradehaiḥ pradihyād iti || bhavati cātra || pītamātre jalaukābhir ghṛtena pariṣecayet | śoṇitasthāpanīyaiś ca śoṇitaṃ pariṣecayet kṣetrāṇi grahaṇañ cāpi poṣaṇa sāvacāraṇam | jānīyād yo jalaukānāṃ sa rājñaḥ karttum arhati || 10 3 ||
athātaḥ śoṇitavarṇṇanīyaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || pāñcabhautikasya caturvvidhasyāhārasya ṣaḍrasopetasya dvividhavīryasyāṣṭavidhavīryasya vāanekaguṇopayuktasyāhārasya samyakpariṇatasya yas tejoguṇabhūtaḥ sāraḥ paramaśūkṣmaḥ sa rasa ity ucyate | tasya hṛdayaṃ sthānaṃ | masa hṛdayāc caturviṃśatir ddhamanīr anupraviśyorddhvagā daśa daśa cādhogāminyaś catasras tiryaggāḥ kṛtsnaṃ śarīram aharahas tarpayati jīvayati yāpayati varddhayati cādṛṣṭahaitukena karmmaṇā | tasya śarīram anusaratonumānāṅ gatir upalakṣayitavyā kṣayavṛddhihetukī | tasmin sarvvaśarīrāvayavadoṣadhātumalāsanusāriṇi rase jijñāsā | kim ayaṃ saumyas tejasa iti | sa khalu dravād anusaraṇe snehanajīvanatarppaṇadhāraṇādibhir vviśeṣaiḥ saumya ity avagamyate | sa khalv āpyo raso yakṛtplīhānau prāpya rāgam upaiti || bha || rañjitās tejasā tv āppaḥ śarīrasthena dehināṃ | avyāpannāḥ prasannena raktam ity eva tad viduḥ || rasād eva striyā raktam ṛtusaṃjñaṃ pravarttate | dvādaśād varddhate varśād yāti pañcāśataḥ kṣayaṃ || ārttavaṃ śoṇitaṃ tv āgneyam āhuḥ | agnīṣomīyatvād garbhbhasya pāñcabhautikatvam apare jīvaṃ raktam āhur ācāryāḥ || bha || viśratā dravatā rāgaḥ spandanan tanutā tathā | pṛthivyādi guṇās tv ete dṛśyante śoṇite yataḥ || rasād raktaṃ tato māṃsaṃ māṃsāt medaḥ pravarttate | pañcaśatrāni | medaso 'sthi tato majjā majjāc chukran tataḥ prajāḥ || tatraiṣān dhātūnām annapānarasaḥ prīṇayitā bhavati || bha || rasajaṃ puruṣaṃ vidyād rasaṃ rakte takṣeta yatnataḥ | annapānaprayogena āhāreṇa suyantritaḥ || tatra rasa gato dhātur ahar ahar ggathaṃcchatīti rasaḥ | sa trīṇi kalāsahasrāṇi | pañcadaśakalāś ca tā ekaikasmin dhātāv avatiṣṭhante | evaṃ māsena rasaḥ śukrībhavati strīṇāñ cārttavahṛm iti bha || bhavati cātra | aṣṭādaśasahasrāṇi saṃkhyā hyasmin samuccaye | kalānān navatiś cāpi svatantraparatantrataḥ || rase gativiśeṣo 'yaṃ mandāgner avamānikaḥ | anayaivoditāgneś ca vijñeyaḥ kālasaṃkhyayā || sa śabdārccijalasantānavad anunā viśeṣeṇānusaraty evaṃ śarīraṃ kevalaṃ vyājīkeraṇyas tv auṣadhayaḥ svaguṇabalotkarṣād virecanavadupayuktāḥ śukraṃ virecayanti | yathā hi puṣpamukulastho gandho na śakyaṃ ihāstīti vaktuṃ | naiva nāstīti | atha cābhti śatāṃ bhāvānām utpattir iti kṛtvā kevalaṃ tu saukṣmyān nābhivyajyate | sa eva vivṛtakesare puṣpe kālāntareṇābhivyakto bhavati | evaṃ bālānām api vayaḥpariṇāmāc chukraprādurbhbhāvo bhavati || romarājyārttavādiś ca viśeṣau nārīṇāṃ | sa evānnaraso 'bhivṛddhānāṃ paripakvaśarīratvād aprīṇano bhavati | ta ete śarīradhāraṇād dhātava ity ucyante || teṣāṃ kṣayavṛddhī śoṇitanimitte tamsmāt tad adhikṛtya vakṣyāmaḥ || tatra saphenilam aruṇaṅ kṛṣṇaṃ parūṣaṃ tanu śīghragam askandi ca vātaduṣṭaṃ | nīlaṃ pītaṃ haritaṃ śyāvaṃ viśram aniṣṭaṃ pipīlikāmakṣikāṇāñ ca pittena | gairikodakaprakāśaṃ snigdhaṃ śītaṃ bahalaṃ picchilaṃ viśrāvi māṃsapeśīsamaprabhañ ca śleṣmaṇā | sarvvalakṣaṇasaṃyuktaṃ sannipātena | pittavad raktenātikṛṣṇaś ca | dvidoṣaliṃgasaṃsṛṣṭaṃ dvidoṣaṃ | indragopakaprakāśam asaṃhatam avivarṇṇañ ca prakṛtisthaṃ iti jānīyāt || viśrāvyān anyatra vakṣyāmaḥ | athāviśrāvyāḥ | sarvvāṅgaśophaḥ kṣīṇasya vā cāmlabhojananimittaḥ pāṇdurogyarśasyudariśoṣigarbhbhiṇīnāñ ca śvayathavaḥ || tatra jvasaṅkīrṇṇaṃ kṣmaṃ samam anavagāḍham anuttānam āśu śastrañ ca pātayet | hṛdaya basti guda nābhi kakṣa vaṃkṣaṇākṣi kūṭa pāṇi pādatalāś ca varjjayet | pūyagarbhbhāṃ punar yathoktair evopacaret | tatra durvviddhe śītavātayor asvinne bhukte ca skannatvāc choṇitan na śravati | alpaṃ vā śravati || bhavati cātra || vāta vi mūtrasaṅgeṣu madamūrcchāśrameṣu ca | nidrābhibhūte śīte vā nṝṇān nāsṛvethaṃd iti || tad duṣṭaśoṇitam anirhriyamāṇaṃ vyādhivṛddhiṅ karoti | atyuṣṇātisvinnātividdheṣv ajñasrāvitam atipravarttate | tad atipravṛttaṃ śiro 'bhitāpam āndhyatimirabhraprādurbhbhāvan dhātukṣayākṣepakaṃ pakṣāghātam ekāṅgavikāraṃ hikkāṃ kāsaṃ śvāsaṃ pāṇḍurogaṃ maraṇaṃ vāśu karoti | tan nātiśīte nātyuṣṇe nātitāpite yavāgūs pratipītasya śoṇitaṃ mokṣayed bhiṣak || samyag gatvā yadā raktaṃ m svayam evāvatiṣṭhate | śuddham evaṃ vijānīyāt samyag visrāvitañ ca tat || lāghavaṃ vedanāśāntir vyādhivegaparikṣayaḥ | samyag visrāvite liṅgaṃ prasādo manasas tathā || tvagdoṣā granthayaḥ śophā rogāḥ śoṇitajāś ca ye | raktamokṣaṇaśīlānān na bhavanti kadācana || atha khalv apravarttamāne | elāśītaśivaḥkuṣṭhatagarapāṭhābhadradāruviḍaṃgacitrakatrikaṭukāgāradhūmaharidrārkāṅkuranaktamālaphalair yathālābhaṃ tribhiś caturbhbhiḥ samastair vvā lavaṇapragāḍhair vvraṇamukham avagharṣayed evaṃ sādhu bhavati || athātipravṛtte lodhramadhukapriyaṅgupattāṅgagairikarasāñjanaśaṅkhaśuktiyavamāṣagodhūmasarjjarasacūrṇṇair anārdrair vvraṇamukham avacūrṇyāṅgulyagreṇāvapīḍayet | śālasarjjārjjunārimedagranthidhacadhanvanatvagbhir vvā cūrṇṇīkṛtābhiḥ kṣaumeṇa va dhyāsitena samudraphenena lākṣācūrṇṇair vvā yathoktair bbandhanadravyair ggāḍhaṃ badhnīyāt | vyadhānantaraṃ punar vvyadhayet | śītāccchādanabhojanāgārapariṣekaiḥ | śītair ālepaiḥ pradehair vvāpacared agninā vā dahed yathoktaṅ kākolyādikvāthaṃ vā śarkkarāmadhumadhuraṃ pāyayet eṇahariṇorabhramahiṣaśaśavarāhāṇāṃ vā rudhiraṃ kṣīraṣaṃ rasaiś cāśnīyāt | upadravāś ca yathoktān upacaret || bha || dhātukṣayāt srute rakte mandaḥ saṃjāyate 'nalaḥ | pavanaś ca paraṃ kopaṃ yāti tasmāt prayatnataḥ || tan nātiśītair llaghubhiḥ snigdhaiḥ śoṇitevarddhanaiḥ | īṣadamlair anamlair vvā bhojanaiḥ samupācaret || caturvvidhaṃ yad etad dhi rudhiramsya nivāraṇaṃ | sandhāna skandanañ caiva pācanaṃ dahanaṃ tathā || vraṇaṃ kaṣāyaḥ sandhatte raktaṃ skandayate himaṃ | tathā saṃpācayed bhasma dāhaḥ saṃkocayet sirāṃ || askandamāne rudhire sandhānāni prayojayet | sandhānair bhraśyamāne tu pācanaiḥ samupācaret | kalpair ebhis tribhir vvaidyaḥ prayathaṃteta yathāvidhiḥ || asiddhimatsu caiteṣu dāhaḥ parama iṣyate | saśeṣadoṣe rudhire na vyādhir ativarttate || saśeṣaṃ sthāpayet tasmān na ca kuryād atikriyāṃ | dehasyañ rudhiraṃ mūlaṃ rudhireṇaiva dhāryate || tasmād rakṣed dhi rudhiraṃ rudhirañ jīva ucyate | śrutaraktasya sekādyaiḥ śītaiḥ prakupite 'nile || śophaṃ satodaṃ koṣṇena sarppiṣā pariṣecayed iti || ḍohva ||
athāto doṣadhātumalakṣayavṛddhiṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || doṣadhātumalamūlaṃ hi śarīraṃ | tasmāt phalalakṣaṇam eteṣām upadhārayasva | tatraspandam odvahanapūraṇavivekadhāraṇalakṣaṇo vāyuḥ | pañcadhā pravibhaktaḥ śarīran tantrayti | rāgaḥpaktisteja ūṣmakṛtpittaṃ | sandhisaṃśleṣaṇasnehanaropaṇabṛṃhaṇaḥ śleṣmā | rasaḥ prīṇayati | raktaṃ jīvayati | māṃsaṃ lepayati | medaḥ snehayati | asthi dhārayati | majjā pūrayati | bījārthaharṣakṛcchukraṃ kledayati | bastipūraṇakṛt mūtraṃ | prāṇavāyvagnidhāraṇāvaṣṭaṃbhakṛt purīṣaṃ | svedaḥ kledayati || garbbhalakṣaṇam ārttavaṃ | stanyaṃ stanāpīnajanana jīvanamiti | tatra vidhivat parirakṣaṇaṃ kurvvīta || ataḥ sarvveṣāṃ kṣayalakṣaṇaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || tatra vātakṣaye mandaceṣṭatā | alpavāktvam alpapraharṣo mūḍhasaṃjñatā ca | pittakṣaye mandoṣmāgnitā niṣprabhatāca | śleṣmakṣaye rūkṣatāntarddāhaāmāsayetarāsayaśūnyatā śirasaś ca || tatra svayonivarddhanāny eva pratīkāraḥ || rasakṣaye hṛdayapīḍā kampaḥ śoṣaḥ śūnyātā tṛṣṇā ca | śoṇitakṣaye tvakpāruṣyam amlaśītaprārthanā sirāśaithilyañ ca | māṃsakṣaye sphiggaṇḍoṣṭhopasthoruvakṣaḥ kakṣaśuṣkatā dhamanīnāñ ca śaithilyaṃ | medaḥkṣaye plīhābhivṛddhiḥ sandhiśūnyatā raukṣyaṃ meduramāṃsaprārthanā ca | asthikṣaye asthiśūlo dantanakhabhaṅgo raukṣyañ ca | majjakṣaye 'lpaśukratā parvvabhedo 'sthinodaḥśūnyatā | śukrakṣaye meḍhravṛṣaṇavedanāśaktir mmaithune cirād vā prasekaḥ praseke cālpaśukraraktadarśanaṃ | purīṣakṣaye hṛdayapārśvapīḍā saśabdasya ca vāyor ūrddhvagamanaṅ kukṣau saṃcaraṇañ ca | mūtrakṣaye bastitodolpamūtratā ca || atrāpi svayonivarddhanadravyopayogaḥ || svedakṣaye stabdharomakūpatā sparśavaiguṇyathaṃ drañ ca | tatrābhyaṅga svedopayogaś ca | ārttavakṣaye yathocitakālādarśanam alpatā yonivedanā ca | tatra saṃśodhanam āgneyānāñ ca dravyānām upayogaḥ || stanyakṣaye stanayor mlānatā stanyāsaṃbhavaś ca | tatra śleṣmavarddhanadravyopayogaḥ || garbhbhakṣaye garbhbhāspandanam anunnatakukṣitā ca | tatra prāptabastikālāyāḥ kṣīrabastiprayogo medhyānnaprayogaś ca || ata ūrddhvam atipravṛddhānāṃ doṣadhātūnāṃ lakṣaṇam upadekṣyāmaḥ | tatra vātavṛddhau kārśyaṃ | kārṣṇyaṃ gātrasphuraṇatā uṣṇakāmatā nidrānāśo 'lpabalatvaṃ gāḍhavarccaskatā ca || pittavṛddhau pītāvabhāsatā santāpaḥ śītakāmitvamalpanidratā mūrcchā balahāniḥ pītaviṇmūtratvañ ca || śleṣmavṛddhau śauklyaṃ śaityaṃ sthairyaṃ gauravam agnisādas tandrā nidrā sandhyati śliṣtatā ca || raso 'tipravṛddho hṛdaye kledaṃ prasekaṃ cāpādayati | raktaṃ raktāṅgākṣitāṃ || māṃsaṃ sphiggaṇḍoṣṭhopasthorubāhujaṃghāsu vṛddhiṅ gurugātratāṃ ca || medaḥ snigdhāṅgatām udarapārśvavṛddhiṃ kāsaśvāsaudaurgandhyaṃ ca | asthyadhyasthītyadhidantāś ca || majjā sarvvāṅganetragauravaṃ || śukraṃ śukrāsmaryatiprādurbhbhāvaṃ || purīṣam āṭopaḥ kukṣau śūlaṃ ca || mūtraṃ muhurmmuhuḥ pravṛttintodamañ ca || svedaḥ kaṇḍū daurgganddhyañ ca || stanyaṃ stanayorr atipīnatvaṃ muhurmmuhu pravṛttimati todañ ca || ārttavam aṅgamarddo daurbbalyañ ca || garbhbho jaṭharābhivṛddhiṅ karoti | teṣāṃ kṣapaṇam aviruddhaiḥ kriyāviśeṣaiḥ kurvvīta balakṣayaṃ | ata ūrdhvam anvyākhyāsyāmaḥ || rasādīnāṃ śukrāntānān dhātūnāṃ yat paran tejas tat khalvojas tad eva balam ity ucyate | śāstrasiddhāntāt tatra balena sthiropacitamāṃsatā sarvvaceṣṭāsvapratīighātaḥ svaravarṇṇaprasādo bāhyābhyantarāṇāñ ca karaṇānām ātmakāryaprattipattir bhbhavati || bhavanti cātra || ojaḥ somātmakaṃ snigdhaṃ śītaṃ ślakṣṇaṃ sthiraṃ saraṃ | viviktaṃ mṛdu mṛtsnañ ca prāṇāyatanam utttamaṃ || dehaḥ sāvayavas tena vyāpto bhavati dehināṃ | abhighātāt kṣayāt kopād vyānācchokācchramāt kṣudhaḥ || ojaḥ saṃkṣīyate dehe dhātugrahaṇaniḥsṛtam || tatra visraṃso vyāpat kṣaya iti liṅgāni bhavanti | sandhiviśleṣo gātrāṇāṃ sadanaṃ dothaṃṣacyavanaṃ kriyo sannirodhaś ca visrase | stabdhatāgurugātratāśopho varṇṇabhedo glānis tandrā nidrā vyāpanne | māṃsakṣayo mohaḥ pralāpo maraṇam iti ca kṣīṇe | tatra visraṃse vyāpanne ca kriyāviśeṣair aviruddhair bbalam adhyāyayet mūḍhasaṃjñām itarañ ca varjjayet || yasya dhātukṣayād vāyuḥ saṃjñā karmma vināśayet | prakṣiṇaṃ ca balaṃ yasya tau na śaktyau cikitsituṃ || rasanimittam eva sthaulyaṃ kārśyañ ca | tatra śleṣmalāhārasevino 'dhyasanaśīlasyāvyāyāmino divāsvapnaratasya ma evānnaraso madhurataraś ca śarīram anukramamāṇotisnehān medo janayati | medaso 'tipravṛddhatvād vāṭharyam āpādayati | tam ativaṭharaṃ kṣudrasvāsapipāsākṣutsvapnasvedadaurggandhyakrathanatrasādagadgadatvāni kṣipramevāviśanti | saukumāryātmedasaḥ sarvvakriyāsvasamarthatvam bhavati | kaphamedonuruddhamārggatvāccālpavyavāyo bhavati | āvṛtamārggatvād eva ca śeṣā dhātavo nāpyāyante 'tyartham ato 'lpaprāṇo bhavati | pramehapīṭakājvarabhagandaravidradhivātavikārāṇām anyatamaṃ prāpya maraṇam upayāti | sarvva eva cāsya rogā balavanto bhavanti | kasmād āvṛtamārggatvāt srotasām atas tasyotpattihetuṃ parihared utpanne tu śilājatuguggulumūtratriphalāloharajorasāñjanamadhuyavamudgakoradūṣoddālakādīnāṃ virūkṣaṇacchedanīyānān dravyānāṃ vidhivad upayogo vyāyāma lekhanabastyupayogaś ceti | tatra punar vvātalāhārasevino 'tivyavāyavyāyāmādhyayanacistābhayaśokarātrijāgaraṇapipāsākṣutkṣāyālpāsanaprabhṛtibhir upaśoṣito rasadhātuḥ śarīram anukramamāṇo 'lpatvān na prīṇayati tasmād atikārśyaṃ bhavati | so 'tikṛṣaḥ kṣutpipāsāśītoṣṇavātavarṣābhārādāneṣv asahiṣṇurvvātarogaprāyo 'lpaprāṇaḥ kriyāsu ca bhavati | kāsaśvāsaplīhodarāgnisādagulmaraktapittānām anyatasamaprāpya maraṇam upayāti sarvva eva cāsya rogā balavanto bhavanti | kasmād alpaprāṇatvād atas tasyotpattihetuṃ pariharet | utpanne tu payasyāśvagandhāvidārīvidārigandhāśatāvarīnāgabalānāṃ madhurāṇāṃ manyāsañ cauṣadhīnāṃ la vidhivad upayogaḥ | kṣīradadhighṛtamāṃsaśāliṣaṣṭikayavagodhūmānāñ ca divāsvapnabrahmacaryāvyāyāmabṛhaṇabastyupayogaś ceti | yaḥ punar ubhayasādhāraṇāny upaseveta tasyānnarasaḥ śarīram anukramamāṇaḥ samāndhātūn upacinoti samadhātutvāt madhyaśarīro bhavati | sarvvakriyāsu ca samarthaḥ kṣutpipāsāśītoṣṇavātavarṣātapasaho balavānś ca bhavati saḥ | satatam anupālayitavya iti || bhavati cātra || dvāv apy etau vigarhitau sadā sthūlakṛṣau narau | śreṣṭho madhyaśarīras tu kṛśaḥ sthūlāt tu pūjitaḥ || doṣaḥ prakupito dhātūn kṣapayaty ātmatejasā | idvaḥ svatejasāvahnirug vāgatam ivodakaṃ || vailakṣaṇyāccharīrāṇām asthāyitvāt tathaiva ca | doṣadhātumalānāṃ tu parimāṇan na vidyate || eṣāṃ samatvaṃ yaccāpi bhiṣagbhir abhidhīyate | na tat svāsthyād ṛte śakyaṃ vaktum anyena hetunā || doṣādīnāṃ tu samatāmanumānena lakṣayet | kṣapayed bṛṃhayec cāpi doṣadhātumalān bhiṣak | tāvad yāvad arogaḥ syād etat sātmyasya lakṣaṇaṃ | samadoṣaḥ samāgniś ca samadhātumalakriyaḥ | prasannātmendriyamanāḥ svastha ity upadiśyatety athātaḥ karṇṇavyadha vidhim vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || rakṣābhūṣaṇanimittam vālasya karṇṇau vyadhayet | tau ṣaṣṭhe māse saptame vā śuklapakṣe praśasteṣu tithikaraṇamuhūrttanakṣatreṣu kṛtamaṅgalaṃ | svastivācanan dhātryaṅke kumāram upaveśyābhisāntvayamānaḥ | bhiṣag vāmahastenākṛṣya karṇṇan daivakṛte chidre dakṣiṇahastena ṛjum vidhyet | pūrvvan dakṣiṇaṃ kumārasya bāmaṅ kanyāyāḥ pratanū sūcyā vahalam ārayā śoṇita bahutve tivedanāyāñ cānyadeśaviddham iti jānīyāt | nirupadravatā taddeśaviddhaliṅgaṃ tatra yadṛcchāviddhāyāṃ sirāyām ajñena jvara dāha śvayathur vvedanā granthi manyāstambhāpatānakaśirograhakarṇṇaśūlāni bhavanti | doṣasamudayād apraśastavyadhād vā tatra varttim apahṛtya yava madhuka mañjiṣṭhā gandharvva hasta mūlair mmadhughṛtapragāḍhair ālepayet | surūḍhañ cainam punar vvidhyet | samyagviddham āmatailapariṣekaṇopacaret | tryahāt tryahād varttiṃ sthūlatarīṅ kurvvīta | pariṣekañ ca tam eva | atha vyapagatadoṣopadrave karṇṇe lampravarddhanārthaṃ laghupravarddhanakā mai muṃcet | evaṃ samvarddhitaḥ karṇṇaś chidyate tu dvidhā nṛṇāṃ| doṣaṭo vābhighātād vā sandhānān tasya me śṛṇu|| tatra samāsena pañcadaśasandhānākṛtayo bhavanti || tad yathā | nemīsandhānakaḥ | utpalabhedyakaḥ | vallūrakaḥ | āsaṅgimaḥ | gaṇḍakarṇṇaḥ | āhāryaḥ | nirvvedhimaḥ| vyāyojimaḥ | kapāṭasandhikaḥ | arddhakapāṭasandhikaḥ | saṃkṣiptaḥ hīnakarṇṇaḥ | vallīkarṇṇaḥ | yaṣṭīkarṇṇaḥ | kākauṣṭhabhaḥ ti | teṣu tatra pṛthulāyasamobhayapālir nemīsandhānakaḥ | vṛttāyatasamobhayapālir utpalabhedakaḥ | hrasvavṛttasamobhayapālir vallūrakarṇṇakaḥ | abhyantaradīrghaikapālir āsaṅgimaḥ | bāhyaika dīrghaikapālir ggaṇḍakarṇṇakaḥ | apālir ubhayato'py āhāryaḥ | pīṭhopamapālir nnirvvedhimaḥ | aśusthūlasamaviṣamapālir vyāyojimaḥ | abhyantaradīrghaikapālir itarālpapāliḥ | kavāṭāsandhikaḥ| vāhyadīrghaikapālir itarālpapāliś vārddhakavāṭasandhikaḥ | tatraite daśakarṇṇasandhivikalpā vandhyā bhavanti | teṣān nāmabhir evākṛtayaḥ prāyeṇa vyākhyātāḥ | saṃkṣiptādayaḥ pañcāsādhyāḥ | tatra śuṣkaśaṣkulir itarālpapāliḥ saṃkṣiptaḥ | anadhiṣṭhānapāliḥ paryantayoś ca kṣīṇamāṃso hīnakarṇṇaḥ tanuviṣamapālir vvallīkarṇṇaḥ | granthitamānsaḥ stabdhasirātatasūkṣmapāliḥ | yaṣṭīkarṇṇaḥ | nirmmānsasaṃkṣiptāgrālpaśoṇitapāliḥ kākauṣṭha iti | baddheṣv api dāha pāka śrāva śopha yuktā na siddhim upayānti | ato nyatamasya bandhañ cikīrṣuḥ | agropaharaṇīyoktopasambhṛtasambhāraḥ | viśeṣataś cāgropaharaṇīyāt | surāmaṇḍakṣīram udakaṃ dhānyāmlakapālacūrṇṇañ ceti | tato 'ṅganāṃ puruṣam vā grathitakeśāntaṃ laghubhuktavantam āptaiḥ suparigṛhītaṃ bandhān upapādya cchedyabhedyalekhyavyadhanair upapādya karṇṇaśoṇitam avekṣyaitad duṣṭam aduṣṭañ ceti | tato vātaduṣṭe dhānyāmlodakābhyāṃ pittaduṣṭe śītodakapayobhyāṃ | śleṣmaduṣṭe surāmaṇḍodakābhyāṃ prakṣālya karṇṇam punar avalikhet | anunnatam ahīnam aviṣamañ ca karṇṇasandhin niveśya sthitaraktaṃ sandarśya madhughṛtenābhyajya picuplotayor anyatareṇāvaguṇṭhyo nātigāḍhan nātiśithilaṃ sūtreṇāvabadhya kapālacūrṇṇenāvakīryācārikam upadiśet | dvivraṇīyoktena cānnenopacaret | vighaṭṭanan divāsvapnaṃ vyāyāmam atibhojanaṃ | vyavāyam agnisantāpam vākśramañ ca vivarjjayet || nātiśuddharaktam atipravṛttaraktaṃ kṣīṇaraktaṃ vā sandadhyāt |sa hi vātaduṣṭe raktabaddho rūḍho paripuṭanavām bhavati | pittaduṣṭe gāḍhapākarāgavān | śleṣmaduṣṭe stabdhakarṇṇaḥ kaṇḍūmān | atipravṛttaśrāvaḥ śophavān | kṣīṇālpamāṃso na vṛddhim upaiti | sa yadā rūḍho nirupadravaḥ karṇṇo bhavati tadainaṃ śanaiḥ śanair abhivarddhayet | anyathā saṃrambhadāhapākavedanāvām bhavati | punar api chidyeta | athāsyāḥ praduṣṭasyābhivarddhanārtham abhyaṅgaḥ | godhāpratudaviṣkirānūpaudakavasāmajjāpayastailaṃ gaurasarṣapajañ ca yathālābhaṃ saṃbhṛtyārkkālarkkabalātibalānantāvidārīmadhukajalaśūkaprativāpan tailam pācayitvā svanuguptan nidadhyāt || svedito mardditaṅ karṇṇam anena mrakṣayed budhaḥ | tato nupadravaḥ samyag balavāṃś ca vivarddhate || ye tu karṇṇā na varddhante snehasvedopapāditāḥ | teṣām apāṅge tv avahiḥ kuryāt prachannam eva ca || amitāḥ karṇṇabandho stu vijñeyāḥ kuśalair iha | yo yathā suniviṣṭaḥ syāt tat tathā yojayed bhiṣak || jātaromā suvarmmā ca śliṣṭasandhiḥ samaḥ sthiraḥ | surūḍho vedano yas tu tat karṇṇaṃ varddhayec chanaiḥ || viśleṣitāyām atha nāsikāyāṃ vakṣyāmi sandhānavidhiṃ yathāvat | nāsāpramāṇaṃ pṛthivīruhāṇāṃ patraṃ gṛhītvā tv avalamvi tasya || tena pramāṇena hi gaṇḍapārśvād utkṛtya vandhra tv atha nāsikāgraṃ | vilikhya cāśu pratisandadhīta taṃ sādhuvaddham bhiṣag apramattaḥ || suśīvitaṃ samyag ato yathāvan nāḍīdvayenābhisamīkṣya nahyet | unnāmayitvā tv avacūrṇṇayīta pattrāṅgayaṣṭīmadhukāñjanaiś ca || saṃchādya samyak picunā vraṇan tu tailena siñced asakṛt tilānāṃ | ghṛtañ ca pāyyaḥ sa naraḥ sujīrṇṇe snigdho virecya sva yathopadeśaṃ || rūḍhañ ca sandhānam upāgataś cai tad vadhraśeṣaṃ tu punar nnikṛntet | hīnam punar vvarddhayituṃ yateta samañ ca kuryād ativṛddhamāṃsam iti || om ||
athāta āmapakveṣaṇīyam vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || atha śophasamutthānā granthividradhyalajīprabhṛtayaḥ | prāyeṇa vyādhayo 'bhihitā anekākṛtayaḥ | tair vvilakṣaṇaḥ pṛthur ggrathitaḥ samo viṣamo vā tvadmāṃsasthāyī saṃghātaḥ śarīraikadeśotthitaḥ śopha ity ucyate | sa ṣaḍvidho bhavati | vātapittakaphaśoṇitasannipātāgantukanimittaḥ | tatra vātaśvayathur aruṇaḥ kṛṣṇo vā paruṣo mṛduranavasthitastodādayaś cātra vedanāviśeṣā bhavanti | pittaśvayathuḥ pītaḥ sarakto vā śīghrānusārī mṛdur ddādayaś cātra vedanāviśeṣā bhavanti | śleṣmaśvayathuḥ pāṇḍuḥ śuklo vā kaṭhinaḥ snigdho mandānusārī kaṇḍvādayaś cātra vedanāviśeṣā bhavanti | sannipātaśvayatua sarvvadoṣaliṅgaviśeṣopeteḥ | pittavacchoṇitajotikṛṣṇaś ca | pittaraktalakṣaṇaś cāganturlāhitābhāsaś ca | sa yadā bāhyābhyantaraiḥ kriyāviśeṣairn na śakyate praśamayituṃ kriyāviparyayād bahutvād vā doṣāṇāṃ pākayābhimukho bhavati | tasyāmasya pacyamānasya pakvasya lakṣaṇam ucyamānam upadhārayasva | tatra mandoṣmatā tvaksāvvarṇya sthairyam alparujatālpaśophatā cāmalakṣaṇam uddiṣṭaṃ | |cībhir iva nistudyate daśyata iva ca pipīlikābhiś cchidyate bhidyata iva ca śastreṇa tāḍyata iva ca daṇḍena niḥpīḍyata iva ca pāṇinā ghaṭyata iva cāṅgulyā dahyate pacyata iva cāgnikṣārābhyāṃ mūṣacoṣaparīdāhāś ca bhavanti | vṛścikaviddha iva ca sthānāsanaśayaneṣu na śāntim upaiti | ādhmātabamstir ivātataś ca śopho bhavati | tvakvaivarṇṇyaṃ śophātivṛddhir jjvarodāhaḥpipāsā bhaktāruciś ca pacyamānaliṃgaṃ || vedanopaśāntir nnirllohitālpaśophatā ca valīprādurbhbhāvatvakparipoṭanan nimnadarśanam aṅgulyā ca pīḍite bastāviva codakasañcaraṇaṃ pūyasya prapīḍayaty ekam antam ante cāvapīḍite muhurmuhus todaḥ la kaṇḍūranunnatatā vyādher upadravaśāntir bhbhaktābhikāṃkṣā ca paripakvaliṅgaṃ || kaphajeṣu khalu rogeṣu gambhīrānugatatvād abhighātajeṣu ca keṣucid asamastam pakvakvalakṣaṇan dṛṣṭvā pakvam apakvam iti manyamāno bhiṣaham upaiti | tatra hi tvaksavarṇṇatā śītaśophatālparujatāspavac ca ghanatā na tatra moham upeyāt || bhavati cātra || āmaṃ vidahyanañ ca samyak pakvañ ca yo bhiṣak | jānīyāt sa bhaved vaidyaḥ śeṣās taskaravṛttayaḥ || vātād ṛte nāsti rujā na pākaḥ pittādṛte nāsti kaphāc ca pūyaḥ | tasmāt samastāḥ paripākakāle pacanti śophan traya eva doṣāḥ || nartte rūjāvātamṛte ca pittaṃ pākaḥ kaphañ cāpi vinā na pūyaḥ | tasmād vipākaṃ paripākakāle prayānti śophās tribhir aiva doṣaiḥ | kālāntareṇābhyuditaṃ tu pittaṃ kṛtvā vase vātakaphau prasahya | pacatyataḥ śoṇitam eva pāko matopareṣāṃ viduṣāṃ dvitīyaḥ || dravyānāñ candanādīnān dagdhānāṃ svetatā yathā | tadvat pittoṣmaṇādagdhaṃ raktam pūyam ihocyate || tatrāmacchede sirāsnāyuvyāpādanaṃ śoṇitātipravṛttir vvedanāprādurbhbhāvovadaraṇam anekopadravadarśanaṃ kṣatavidradhirvvā bhavati | sa yadā tu bhayamohābhyāṃ pakvam apakvam iti manyamānaś ciram upekṣate vyādhiṃ vaidyaḥ | sa gambhīrānugato dvāram alabhamānaḥ pūyaḥ svamāsayamavadāryotsaṅgaṅ kṛtvā nāḍīñ janayitvā bhavaty asādhyaḥ || bhavati cātra || yaś chinatty āmam ajñānādyaś ca pakvam upekṣate | śvapacāviva sampaśyet tāvaniścitakāriṇau || prāk śastrakarmmaṇaś ceṣṭaṃ bhojayed āturam bhiṣak | pāneyam pāyayet madyaṃ tīkṣṇaṃ yo vedanāsahaṃ || na mūrcchatyannasaṃyogāt mattaḥ śastran na budhyate | tasmād avaśyaṃ bhoktavyaṃ rogeṣūkteṣu karmmaṇi || prāṇo hy ābhyantaro nṝṇāṃ bāhyaprāṇaguṇānvitaḥ | dhārayaty avirodhena ucchrayaṃ pāñcabhautikam || yohyutthito 'lpo yadi vā mahān syāt kriyāṃ vinā pākamupaiti śophaḥ | la viśālamūlo viṣamaṃ vidagdhaḥ sa kṛcchratāṃ yāty avagāḍhadoṣaḥ || ālepaviśrāvanaśodhanais tu samyak prayuktair yadi nopaśāmyet | hu śīghraṃ vipacyet samamalpamūlaḥ san piṇḍitaś copari lpaaidoṣaḥ || kakṣān samāsādya yathā ca vahnir vācitaḥ sandahati prasahya | tathaiva yo 'pyaviniḥsṛto hi māṃsaṃ sirā snāyu ca khādatīha || ādau vimlāpanaṅ kuryā dvitīyamavasecanaṃ | tṛtīyam upanāhan tu caturthīm pāṭanakriyāṃ || pañcamaṃ śodhanaṃ vidyāt ṣaṣṭhaṃ ropaṇamiṣyate | ete kramā vraṇasyoktās saptamaṃ vaikṛtāpaham iti || ḍoñ ||
athāta ālepanavraṇabandhavidhim vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || ālepana ādya upakrama eṣa sarvvaśophānāṃ sāmānyataḥ pradhānatamaś ca | taṃ prati pratirogaṃ vakṣyāmaḥ | tatra pratilomamālimpennānulomamaḥ | pratilome hi samyagauṣadhamavatiṣṭhate | praviśati ca romakūpaistasya pramāṇam bhiṣārdracarmmotsedham upadiśanti | na ca śuṣkam upekṣitavyam anyatra pīḍayitavyāt | śuṣkam apārthakaṃ rujākarañ ca bhavati | ālepa pradehayor antaram ālepaḥ śītastanur aviśoṣīvā | pradehastūṣṇaḥ śīto vā bahalobahvaviśoṣī ca | tatra raktapittaprasādakṛd ālepaḥ | śodhano ropaṇaśophavedanāpagamaś ca tasyopabhogaḥ kṣatākṣateṣu yas tu kṣateṣūpayujyate | sa bhūyaḥ kalka iti saṃjñāṃ labhate | nirudhyālepanasaṃjñā tenāśrāvasannirodhau mṛdu pūtimāṃsāpakarṣaṇam antarddoṣatā śur vraṇaśuddhiś ca bhavati | na cā lepanaṃ rātrau prayuñjīta śaityānuśleṣmaṇaḥ | ūrddhvavivṛtarāmakūpatvād ūṣmānanireti | avidagdheṣu śopheṣu hitam ālepanaṃ bhavet | yathāsvaṃ doṣaśamanaṃ dāhakaṇḍūrujāpahaṃ || marmmadeśeṣu ye rogā guhyeṣv api sadā nṛṇāṃ | saṃśodhanāya teṣān tu kuryād ālepanaṃ bhiṣak || ata ūrddhvaṃ vraṇabandhanadravyāṇy upadekṣyāmaḥ || kṣaumakārppāsikāvikadukūlakauśeyapattaurṇṇācīnapaṭṭacarmmāntarvvalkalalatāvidalarajju vā lagūlasantānikālohādīny eṣāṃ vyādhiṅ kālañ cāvekṣyopayogaḥ | pramāṇataś ceṣām ādeśaḥ | la bhra kośadāmasvastikānuvellitaṃ śākhāsu grīvāmeḍhra mūtolīmaṇḍalamsthavikāyamalakakhaṭvācīnavibandhavitānagosphaṇāḥ pañcāṅgī ceti caturddaśa bandhaviśeṣāḥ | teṣān nāmabhir evākṛtayaḥ prāyeṇa vyākhyātāḥ || tatra kośañjaṅghāṅguliparvvasu vidadhyāt | dāmamasaṃbādheṅge sāndhikūrccakastanāntarakarṇṇeṣu svastikama nuvellitaṃ śākhāsu grīvāmeḍhrayon tolīṃ vṛtteṅge maṇḍalam aṅguṣṭhāṅgulimeḍhrāgreṣu sthavikā | yamalavraṇābhyāṃ yamalakaṃ | hanugaṇḍaśaṃkheṣu khaṭvām aṅgayoś cīnaṃ | pṛṣṭhodaroraḥsu vibandhaṃ rddhni vitāmaṃ | cipukanāmauṣṭhāṃsabastiṣu goṣphaṇā jatruṇipañcāṅgīm iti | yo vā yasmin pradeśe suniviṣṭo bhavati tattasmin nidadhyāt | yantranam ūrddhamadhastiryak ca bhavati | tatra ghanāṅ kāvalikān datvā maparikṣepam ṛjum anāviddham asaṅkucitaṃ mṛdu paṭṭan niveśya badhnīyāt | na ca vraṇasyopari kuryāt | granthim ābādhaṅ karoti | athāsya na ca vikeśikauṣadhetisnigdhetirūkṣe viṣame vā kurvvīta | kasmād atisnehāt kledayati | raukṣyāc chinatti durnyāstavraṇacarmmāvagharṣaṇaṃ karoti | yukta snehatyādāśu rohati | tatra vraṇāyatanaviśeṣād bandhastrividho bhavati | gāḍhassamaḥ śithila iti | tatra sphikkukṣivaṃkṣaṇaśiraḥ sugāḍhaḥ | śākhāvadanakarṇṇakaṇṭhameḍhramuṣkapārśvodarorasmu samaḥ | akṣṇoḥ sandhiṣu ca śithilaḥ | tatra paittikaṃ gāḍhasthāne samaṃ badhnīyāt | samasthāne śithilaṃ | śithilasthāne naiva śoṇitaduṣṭañ ca || ślaiṣmikaṃ śithilasthāne samaṃ | samasthāne gāḍhaṃ | gāḍhasthāne gāḍhataraṃ | vātaduṣṭañ ca || tatra paittikaṃ grīṣme dvirahne badhnīyāt | raktopadrutamapyevaṃ | ślaiṣmikaṃ hemante tṛtīye 'hni | vātopadrutamapyevaṃ | evaṃ mūhya baṃdhamviparyayañ ca kurvvīta | samaśithilasthāneṣu gāḍha baṃdhe vikesikauṣadhanair arthakyaṃ śophavedanāprādurbhbhāvaś ca | gāḍhasamasthāneṣu sithila bandhe vikesikauṣadhapala ñtanam paṭṭasañcārād vraṇavagharṣaṇañ ca | aviparītabandhe vedanāśāntir asṛkprasādo mārddavañ ca | abadhyamāne śītavātātaparajovarṣadaṃśamasakamakṣikāprabhṛtibhir abhighātaviśeṣair hanyate vraṇaḥ | vividhavedanopadrutaś ca duṣṭatām upaiti | ālepanādīni cāsya viśopam upayānti || cūrṇṇitam mathitam bhagnaṃ viśliṣṭam atipāditaṃ | asthisnāyusirācchinnam āśu bandhena rohati || sukhañ ca vraṇitaḥ śete sukhaṅ gacchati tiṣṭhati | sukha śayyāsanasthasya kṣipraṃ saṃrohati vraṇaḥ || abandhyā pittaraktābhighātanimittā yadātodadāhavedanābhibhūtāḥ kṣārāgnidagdhāḥ pākāt prakuthitaprasīrṇṇamāṃsāś ca bhavanti || kuṣṭhinām agnidagdhānāṃ piṭakā madhumehināṃ | karṇṇikāś conduruviṣe viṣajuṣṭavraṇāś ca ye || māṃsapāke na badhyante gudapāke ca dāruṇe | svabuddhyār vapi vibhajet kṛtyākṛtyeṣu buddhimān || doṣan dehañ ca vijñāya vraṇan ś ca vraṇakovidaḥ | tūñ ca parisaṃkhyāya tato bandhīn niveśayediti || ḍoḍa ||
|| athāto vraṇitopāsanīyam vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || atha vraṇitasya prathamam evāgāram anvicchet || praśastavāstusuni viṣṭaṃ śucyavātātapañca | apraśastavāstunigṛhe sambādhe 'śucinyātape cātivāte ca rogāḥ syuściraṃ śārīramānasāḥ | tasmiñ chayanam asambādhaṃ svāstīrṇaaṇaṃ manojñam prākchīrṣan saśastraṅ kurvvīta | sukhaceṣṭāpracāraḥ syāt | svāstīrṇṇe śayane vraṇī prācyādiśi sthito devās tat pūjanārthan tataḥśiras tasmin suhṛdbhir anukūlaiḥ priyamvadair upāsyamāno yatheṣṭamāśīteti || bha || suhṛdo vikṣipanty āśu kathābhir vvraṇavedanāḥ | āśvāsayanto bahuśaḥ svanukūlāḥ priyamvadāḥ || na ca divānidrāvaśagaḥ syād utthāsamvesanaparimārjjanādiṣu cātmaceṣṭāsvapramatto vraṇaṃ rakṣet || bha || sthānāsanañcaṅkramaṇaṃ divāsvapnan tathaiva ca | vraṇito na viniṣeveta śaktimān api mānavaḥ || gamyānāñ ca strīṇāṃ sandarśanasambhāṣaṇasaṃsparśanāni dūrata eva pariharet || bha || strīṇāṃ sandarśanāc chukraṅ kadācid balitaṃ sravet | grāmyadharmmakṛtān doṣān so 'saṃsargge 'pyavāpnuyāt || navadhānyamāṣatilakaśāyakulatthaniṣpāvakaharitaśokāmlalavaṇaguḍapiṣṭavikṛtaśuṣkaśākājāvimāṃsaśīto dakadadhidugdhatakraprabhṛtīni pariharet || bha || takrānto navadhānyādiryoyamvargga udāhṛtaḥ | doṣasañjanano hyeṣa vijñeyaḥ pūyavarddhanaḥ || madyapañyamaireyāriṣṭāsavamadhusurāvihārām pariharet || madyamamlañ ca rūkṣañ ca tīkṣṇamuṣṇañ ca vīryataḥ | āśukāri ca tatpītaṃ kṣipram vyāpādayed vraṇaṃ || vātātaparajodhūmātibhojanāniṣṭaśravaṇadarśanāmarṣaśokaviṣamaśayanāsanarātrijāgaraṇātmakṣikādibhiś cābādhām pariharet || vraṇitasyopataptasya kāraṇair eva mādibhiḥ | kṣīṇaśoṇitamāṃsasya bhuktaṃ samyag na jīryati || ajīrṇaaṇāt pavanādīnāṃ vibhramobalavān bhavet | tataḥ śopharujāśrāvadāhapākānavāpnuyāt || sadā ca nīcanakharomṇāśucināśucivāsasāśāntimaṅgaladevatābrāhmaṇagurupareṇabhavitavyaṃ || tat kasya hetoḥ hiṃsāvihārāṇi tu rakṣānsipaśupatikuberakumārānucarāṇi mānsaśoṇitapratvāt kṣatajanimittam vraṇitam upa sarppanti satkārārthañ jighāṃsūni vā kadācid bhavanti || teṣāṃ satkārakāmānām prayatetāntarātmanā | dhūpamālyopahārām̐ś ca bhakṣām̐ś caivopahārayet || te tu santarppitā ātmavanna hiṃsyus tasmāt satatam atandritajanaparivṛto nityadīpodakaśastrasragdāmālaṅkṛta veśmani sampan maṅgalamano 'nukūlāḥ kathāḥ śṛṇvannāsīta || sampatmaṅgalayuktābhiḥ kathābhiḥ prītamānasaḥ | āsāvān vyādhimokṣāya kṣipraṃ sukham avāpnuyāt || ṛksāmayajurbhir mmantrairaparaiś cāśīrvvādair upādhyāyabhiṣajāś ca sandhyayo rakṣāṅkuryuḥ || sarṣapāriṣṭapatrābhyāṃ sarppiṣālavaṇena ca | dvirahnaḥ kārayed rūpaṃ saptarātramatandritaḥ || chattrāticchattralāṅgulīñ jaṭilāṃ brahmacāriṇīṃ | lakṣmīguhāmatiguhāvacāmativiṣāntathā || śatavīryāṃ saha sravīryāṃ siddhārthām̐ś cāpi dhārayet || bha || anena vidhānā yuktam ārād eva niśācarāḥ | vanaṃkesariṇākrāntaṃ varjjayanti mṛgā iva || bālośīrair vraṇambījair nna ca nam parighaṭūyet | na tuden na ca kaṇḍūyāc chayānaḥ paripālayet || jīrṇaśālyodanaṃ snigdhamalyamuṣkan dravottaraṃ | bhuñjāno jāṅgalair mmāsaiḥ śīghraṃ vraṇam apohati || taṇḍulīyakajīvantī suniṣarṇṇakavāstukaiḥ | bālamūlakavārttākī paṭolaiḥ kāravallakaiḥ || sadāḍimaiḥ sāmalakair ghṛtabhṛṣṭaiḥ sasaindhavaiḥḥ | anyair eva ṅguṇair vvāpi mudgādīnāṃ rasena vā || divā na nidrā vaśago nivātagṛhagocaraḥ | vraṇī vaidyavase tiṣṭhac chīghraṃ vraṇam apohati || evaṃ vṛttasamācāro vraṇī sampadyate sukhī | āyuś ca dīrgham āpnoti dhanvatarivaco yathā ||
|| athāto hitāhitīyaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || yadvāyoḥ pathyan tatpittasyāpathyam ity anena hetunā na kiñcidravyam ekāntena hitamahitam vāstīti kecid ācāryā bruvate || taṃ tu na samyak | iha khalu dravyāṇi svabhāvataḥ saṃyogataś ca ekāntahitāni ekāntā hitāni hitāhitāni ca bhavanti || tatraikāntāhitāni jātisātmyatvāt | salilaghṛtadugdhvaudanaprabhṛtīni | ekāntāhitāni tu dahanapacanamāraṇādiṣu pravṛtttānyagnikṣāraviṣādīni saṃyogatastvaparāṇi viṣatulyāni bhavanti | hitāhitāni tu yadvāyoḥ pathyan tatpittasyāpathyamiti etaddvitvānna sarvvavraṇināmayamāhārārthe vargga upadiśyate | raktaśāliṣaṣṭikāṅgukamukundakapāṇḍukakalama nīvārodravoddālakaśyāmākavāḥ || eṇahariṇakuraṅgāmṛgamātṛkāsvadaṃṣṭrīkrakaralāvatittirikapiñjalavarttīrakavarttakāḥ || mudgavanamasūramukuṣṭhahareṇaavāḍhakīsatīnāḥ || cillīvāstūkasuniṣarṇṇakajīvantī taṇḍulīyakamaṇḍūkaparṇṇāḥ | gavyaṃ ghṛtaṃ saindhavadāḍimāmalakam ity eṣa varggaḥ sarvvavraṇinyaḥ sāmānyataḥ pathyatamaḥ | tathā brahmacaryanivātaśayaṇoṣṇodakādivāsvapnāvyāyāmādhūmasevā ca ekāntaḥ pathyatamāni | ahitāni prāgupadiṣṭāni | hitāhitāni tu yadvāyoḥ pathyantatpittasyāpathyam iti || saṃyogatastvaparāṇi viṣatulyāni bhavanti | vallīphalajavakakarīraāmlaphalalavaṇakulatthapiṇyāka tailaśuṣkaśākamadyajāmvajāṅgalacilimilimatsyagodhāvarāhānacaikadhyamaśnīyāt | payasā prākpayaso 'nte vā payasaḥ | kapotām̐ś ca sarṣapatailasiddhām̐ś ca nāśnīyāt | kapiñjalamayūralāvatittirigodhāś cairaṇḍakāṣṭhasiddhā eraṇḍatailana nādyāt | madhughṛtasamaghṛtamadhucāntarikṣaudakānupānaṃ | kāṃsabhājane daśarātraparyuṣitaṃ sarppiḥ | madhunoṣṇena vā dadhimadyañ ca | pittena cāmamāṃsāni | surākṛsarapāyasām̐śca naikadhyamaśnīyāt | sauvīreṇa sahatilasaṣkulī | takreṇa madhughṛtadhānāpṛṣatamāṃsāni | godhāmmadhunā | kṣaudrāsavena matsyāṃ | pṛṣatamāṃsam vā maireyamādhvīkābhyāṃ | matsyānupotakayā sahaikṣuvikṛtīś ca sarvvāḥ | guḍaṅkākamācyāmadhunā mūlakāni ca | naikadhyamadhunā varāhaṃ | dadhnā kukkuṭaṃ | madyena balākāṃ | taratamayogayuktāṃś ca | bhāvānatirūkṣam atisnigdham atyuṣṇam atiśītam evamādīn vivarjjayet | na madhunoṣṇaṃ | noṣṇa noṣṇārtto | na madhunātilakalkenopotakāṃ | na pippalīmatsyavesayā | priyaṅgvanuliptena pāyasamaśnīyāt || bha || viruddhāny evam ādīni vīryato yāni kānicit | tāny ekāntāny eva śeṣam vidyād hitāhitaṃ || bha || vyādhimindriyadaurbbalyam maraṇ vā niyacchati | viruddharasavīryāṇi bhuñjāno 'nātmavān naraḥ || yatkiñcid doṣamutkleśya bhuktaṃ kāyān na nirharet | rasādiṣu rasārthatvāt tad vikārāya kalpate || viruddhāśanajānrogān pratihanti virecanaṃ | vamanaṃ śamanam vāpi pūrvvam vā hitasevanaṃ || sātmyato 'lpatayā vāpi dīptāgnes taruṇasya ca | snigdhavyāyām iva linām viruddham vitatham bhaved iti || || kṣāram agniñ jalāyuś ca tathā śoṇitavarṇṇanaṃ | doṣadhātumalañ caiva karṇṇatāḍanam eva ca || āmapakveṣaṇīyañ ca ālepanavidhin tathā | vraṇitopāsanīyañ ca viruddhānnena viṃśatiḥ ||

|| athāto vraṇapraśnaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || vātapittaśleṣmāṇa eva dehe sambhavahetavo bhavanti || tair evāsyāvyāpanair adhomadhyorddhasanniviṣṭaiḥ śarīram idan dhāryate| agāram iva sthūṇābhir ataś ca tristhūṇam ity āhur ity eke| ta eva ca vyāpannāḥ pralayahetavo bhavanti tad ebhiḥ śoṇitacaturtthaiḥ sambhavasthitipralayeṣv apy avirahitaṃ śarīram bhavati || bha bhavati cātra || nartte dehaḥ kaphād asti na ca pittān na mārutāt | śoṇitād api vā nityan deham etais tu dhāryate || tatra vā gatigandhopādāno dhātuḥ | tapa santāpe | śliṣa āliṅgane | eṣāṃ kṛdvihitaiḥ pratyayair vvātaṃ pittaṃ śleṣmā iti rūpāṇi bhavanti || teṣāṃ sthānāny ata ūrddhvam vakṣyāmaḥ || tatra samāsena vāyuḥ śroṇīgudasaṃśrayaḥ | pakvāmāsayamadhyastham pittasya | āmāsayaḥ śleṣmaṇaḥ || ataḥ param pañcadhā vibhajyante | tatra vātasya vātavyādhike vakṣyāmaḥ | pittasya yakṛtplīhānau hṛdayan dṛṣṭis tvag iti | pūrvvoktan tu śleṣmaṇas tūrasaḥ kaṇṭhaḥ śiraḥ sandhaya iti || etāni khalu doṣasthānāny avyāpannānām bhavanti | pūrvvoktañ ca || visargādānavikṣepaiḥ somasūryānilā yathā | dhāra ya nti jagaddehaṅ kaphapittānilās tathā || tatra jijñāsyate || kim pittavyatirekeṇānyo 'gnirutāho pittam evāgnir iti | atrocyate | na khalu pittavyatirekeṇānyo 'gnir upalabhyate | āgneyatvāt pitte dahanapacanādiṣu pravarttamāno 'gnivad upacāraḥ kriyante ntaragnir iti | kṣiṇe vāgniguṇe tatsamānadravyopayogād ativṛddhe śītakriyopayogād āgamāc ca paśyāmo na khalu pittavyatirekeṇānyo 'gnir iti | tat tu dṛṣṭahetukena viśeṣeṇa pakvāmāsayamadhyasthaṃ caturvvidham apy annam pacati vivecayati ca doṣarasamūtrapurīṣāṇi | tatrastham eva cātmaśaktyā śeṣāṇām pittasthānānāṃ śarīrasya cāgnikarmmaṇānugrahaṅ karoti | tasmin pitte pācako 'gnir iti saṃjñā || yakṛtplīhnoḥ pittan tasmin rañjako gnir iti saṃjñā sa rasasya rāgakṛd uktaḥ | yat tu hṛdistham pittan tasmin sādhako 'gnir iti saṃjñā śobhitaprārthitamanorathasādhanakṛd uktaḥ || yat tu dṛṣṭyām pittaṃ tasminn ālocako 'gnir iti saṃjñā sa rūpagrahaṇe dhikṛtaḥ || yat tu tvaci pittan tasya bhrājako 'gnir iti saṃjñā so'bhyaṅgaparisekāvagāhālayanādīnāṃ kriyādravyādīnāṃ pācayitā |||| bha bhavati cātra || pittaṃ tīkṣṇan dravam pūtinīlam pītan tathaiva ca | uṣṇaṅ kaṭurasañ caiva vidagdhan tv amlam iṣyate || ata ūrdhvaṃ śleṣmasthānāny anuvyākhyāsyāmaḥ || tatrāmāsayaḥ pittāsayasyopari tatpratyanīkatvād ūrdhvagatitvāt tejasaś candra ivādityasya sa caturvvidhasyāhārasyādhāraḥ sa ca tatraudakair guṇaiḥ praklinno bhinnasaṃghātas sukhajaro bhavati || mādhuryāt picchilatvāc ca prakleditvāt tathaiva ca | āmāsaye sambhavati śleṣmā madhuraśītalaḥ || sa tatra sthitaḥ svaśaktyā śeṣāṇāṃ śleṣmasthānānāṃ śarīrasyodakakarmmaṇānugrahaṅ karoti || uraḥsthas tu trikasandhāraṇam ātmavīryyeṇānnarasasahitena hṛdayāvalambanam varaṇañ ca karoti | kaṇṭhasthas tu jihvendriyasya saumyatvāt 𑑛 samyagrasajñāne vivarttate || śiraḥsthas tu snehasantarppaṇādhikṛtatvād indriyāṇām ātmavīryyeṇānugrahaṃ karoti || sandhisthas tu sandhisaṃśleṣāt sarvvaṃ sandhisaṃśleṣāt sarvvasandhyagranuhaṅ karoti || bhavati bhavati cātra || śleṣmā śveto guru snigdhaḥ picchilaḥ śīta eva ca | madhuraś cāvidagdhaḥ syād vidagdho lavaṇaḥ smṛtaḥ || śoṇitasthānaprāgabhihitaṃ | anuṣṇaśītam madhuraṃ snigdhaṃ raktañ ca varṇataḥ | śoṇitaṅ guru visraṃ syād vidāhaś cāsya pittavat || etāni khalu doṣasthānāny atra sañcīyante doṣāḥ | prāk sañcayahetur uktaḥ || sañcitānāṃ khalu doṣāṇāṃ stabdhapūrṇṇakoṣṭhatā pītāvabhāsatā mandoṣmatā cāṅgānāṃ gauravam ālasyañ ceti liṅgāni bhavanti | tatra prathamaḥ kriyākālaḥ || ata ūrdhvam prakopakāraṇāni vakṣyāmaḥ | tatra balavadvigrahātivyavāyavyāyāmapratapanapradhāvanābhighātalaṅghanaplavanaprataraṇajāgaraṇahayagajarathaprayāṇātikaṭukakaṣāyatiktalaghurūkṣaśītavīryyaśuṣkaśākavallūrakoradūṣaśyāmākanīvāramudgamasūrāḍhakīhareṇuniṣpāvānaśanavātamūtrapurīṣaśukravathūdgāraccharddibāṣpavegavighātādibhir vviśeṣair vvāyuḥ prakopam āpadyate || sa śītābhraprayāteṣu gharmmārtte ca viśeṣataḥ | pratyūṣasy aparāhṇe ca jīrṇṇānte ca prakupyati || krodhaśokabhayāyāsopavāsavidagdhamaithunopagamanakaṭvamlalavaṇoṣṇatīkṣṇarūkṣalaghuvidāhitilatailapiṇyākakulatthasarṣapātasīharitaśākavarāhamatsyājāvikamāṃsadadhimastutakrasauvīrakasurāmlaphalakaṭvaraprabhṛtibhi r vviśeṣaiḥ pittam prakopam āpadyate || taduṣṇe voṣṇakāle ca ghanānte ca viṣeśataḥ | madhyāhne cārddharātre ca jīryyaty anne ca kupyati || divāsvapno vyāyāmālasyamadhurāmlalavaṇasnigdhaśītagurupicchilābhiṣyandihāyanakayavanaiṣadhotkaṭamāṣagodhūmatilapiṣṭavikṛtadugdhadadhikṛśarapāyasekṣuvikārānūpodakamāṃsavasābisamṛṇālakaserukaśṛṅgāṭakamadhuravallīphalasamasanādhyaśanaprabhṛtibhir vviśeṣaiḥ śleṣmā prakopam āpadyate || sa śīte śītakāle ca vasante ca viśeṣataḥ | pūrvvāhṇe ca pradoṣe ca bhuktamātre prakupyati || pittaprakopaṇair eva cābhīkṣṇaṃ dravasnigdhagurubhiś cāhārair ddivāsvapnakrodhānalātapaśramābhighātājīrṇṇaviruddhādhyaśanaprabhṛtibhir vviśeṣair raktam prakopam āpadyate || yasmād raktam vinā doṣair nna kadācit prakupyati | tasmāt tasya yathādoṣaṅ kālam vidyāt prakopanaiḥ || teṣān tu prakopāt koṣṭhatodasañcaraṇāmlīkādāhapipāsānnadveṣahṛdayotkledā bhavanti | tatra dvitīyaḥ kriyākālaḥ || ata ūrdhvam prasaraṃ vakṣyāmaḥ | teṣām ebhir ātaṅkaviśeṣaiḥ prakupitānām piṣṭakiṇvodakasamavāya ivābhyudgatānām prasaro bhavati | teṣām vāyur ggatimattvāt prasaraṇahetuḥ | saty apy ācaitanye sa hi rajobhūyiṣṭhaḥ | rajaś ca pravarttakam bhāvānām yathā mahānudakasañcayo 'tipravṛddhatvāt | setum avadāryāparair udakair vvyāmiśraḥ sarvvataḥ pradhāvaty evan doṣāḥ | ekaikaśo dvandvaśaḥ samastāḥ śoṇitasahitā vā tatra vātaḥ pittaṃ śleṣmā śoṇitaṃ | 𑑛 vātapitte | vātaśleṣmāṇau | pittaśleṣmāṇau | vātaśoṇite | pittaśoṇi pittaśoṇite | śleṣmaśoṇite | vātapittaśoṇitāni | vātaśleṣmaśoṇitāni | pittaśleṣmaśoṇitāni | vātapittakaphāḥ | vātapittakaphaśoṇitānīti | evam pañcadaśadhā prasaranti || kṛtsne 'rdhe 'vayave cāpi dehasya kupito bhṛśam | doṣo vikāram bhajate megho vṛṣṭim ivāmbare || nātyarthaṅ kupitaś cāpi līno mārggeṣu tiṣṭhati | niḥpratyanīkaḥ kālena hetum āsādya kupyati || tatra vāyoḥ pittasthānagatasya pittavat kriyā | pittasya ca kaphasthānagatasya kaphavat | kaphasya ca vātasthānagatasya vātavat kriyāvibhāgaḥ || evam prakṣubhitānām prasaratām vimārggagamanam āṭopo dhūmāyanam arocakaś charddir iti liṅgāni bhavanti | tatra tṛtīyaḥ kriyākālaḥ || ata ūrddhvasthānasaṃśrayaṃ vakṣyāmaḥ | evaṃ khalu prasṛtas tām̐s tāñ charīrapradeśān āgamya tāṃs tān vyādhīñ janayanti | tam prati pratirogam vakṣyāmaḥ | ye doṣās te 'dhaḥ sanniveśaṅ kurvvanti te gulmavṛddhyudarāgnisaṅgānāhavisūcikātīsāraprabhṛtīn janayanti | bastigatāḥ pramehāśmarīmūtrāghātamūtradoṣaprabhṛtīn || gudagatās tu bhagandarārśaḥprabhṛtīn || meḍhragatās tu parivarttikāpadaṃśaśūkadoṣaprabhṛtīn || vṛṣaṇagatā vṛṣaṇavṛddhīn || ūrddhvajatrugatā ūrddhvagā galagaṇḍāpacīprabhṛtīn || tvaṅmānsaśoṇitagatāḥ kṣudrarogān kuṣṭhādīn visarppām̐ś ca || māṃsagatā granthyapacyarbbudagalagaṇḍālajīprabhṛtīn || asthigatā vidradhyanuśayīprabhṛtīn || pādagatāḥ ślīpadavātaśoṇitaprabhṛtīn || sarvvagatāḥ | jvaraśukradoṣasarvvāṅgarogaprabhṛtīn || evam anyeṣv api sthāneṣu rogānāṃ doṣasanniveśañ jānīyāt || teṣām evam abhisanniviṣṭānām pūrvvarūpaprādurbbhāvo bhavati | tatra caturthaḥ kriyākālaḥ || ata ūrdhvam vyādhidarśanam vakṣyāmaḥ || śophārbbudagranthividradhivisarppādīnāṃ pravyaktalakṣaṇatā jvarātīsāraprabhṛtīnāñ ca | tatra pañcamaḥ kriyākālaḥ || ata ūrddhvam asyāvadīrṇṇasya vraṇabhāvam āpannasya ṣaṣṭhaḥ kriyākālaḥ || jvarātīsāraprabhṛtīnāñ ca dīrghakālānubaddhaḥ | tatrāpratikriyamāṇo 'sādhyatām upaiti || bhavati bhavati cātra || sañcayañ ca prakopañ ca prasaraṃ sthānasaṃśrayaṃ | vyaktim bhedañ ca yo vetti doṣāṇāṃ sa bhaved bhiṣak || sañcaye 'pahṛtā doṣā labhante nottarā gatīḥ | te tūttarāsu gatiṣu bhavanti balavattarāḥ || sarvvair bbhāvais tribhir vvāpi dvābhyām ekena vā punaḥ | saṃsarge kupitaḥ kruddha doṣan doṣo 'nudhāvati || saṃsargge yo garīyān syād upakramya sa vai bhavet | śeṣadoṣāvirodhena sannipāte tathaiva ca || vraṇe tu yasmād rūḍhe 'pi vraṇavastu na naśyati | ādehadhāraṇāj jantor vvraṇas tasmān nirucyata iti || 21 ||
athāto vraṇāśrāvavijñānīyam vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || tvaṅmāṃsasirāsnāyvasthisandhikoṣṭhamarmmāṇy aṣṭau vraṇavastūni bhavanti | atra sarvvavraṇasanniveśaḥ || tatrādyaikavastusanniveśī tvagbhedī vraṇaḥ sūpacaro bhavati | śeṣās tv āsrāvā vijñeyāḥ | ya evam uttiṣṭhanty avadīvyante ca | āyataś caturasro vṛttas tripuṭaka iti vraṇākṛtisamāsaḥ | viśeṣatas tu vikṛtākṛtayo durupakramā bhavanti || sarvva eva vraṇāḥ kṣipraṃ saṃrohanty ātmavatāṃ subhiṣagbhiś copakrāntāḥ | anātmavatām ajñaiś copakrāntāḥ praduṣyanti pravṛddhatvād doṣāṇāṃ | tatrātisamvṛto vivṛtaḥ kaṭhino 'timātram atimṛdur utsannovasannaḥ | śīto 'tyuṣṇaḥ kṛṣṇaraktapītaśuklādivarṇṇeṣv apy arthavarṇṇaḥ pūtimāṃsasirāsnāyupratipūrṇṇaḥ pūtipūyāśrāvī ūnmārgy utsaṅgy amanojñadarśanagandhotyarthavedanāvān dāhapākarāgakaṇḍūśophapiṭakopadruto 'tyarthaduṣṭaśoṇitasrāvī dīrghakālānubandhī ceti duṣṭavraṇaliṅgāni | tatra doṣocchrayam avekṣya yathāsvam prakurvvīta || atha sarvvāsrāvām vakṣyāmaḥ | tatra ghṛṣṭāsu jhinnāsu vā tvakṣu tvaksphuṭite bhinne 'vadārite vā salilaprakāśo bhavaty āsrāvaḥ | kiñcid visraḥ pītāvabhāsaś ca | māṃsagate tu sarppiḥ prakāśaḥ sāndraḥ svetaḥ picchilaś ca || sirāgatas tu sadyaś chinnāsu sirāsu raktātipravṛttiḥ pakvāsu ca toyanāḍībhir ivāgamanaṃ pūyasya āśrāvaś cātra tanur vvicchinnaḥ sapheno vasāpratimaḥ saraktaś ca | snāyugatas tu snigdho ghanaḥ siṃghāṇakapratimaḥ saraktaś ca || asthigatas tu asthiny abhihate sphuṭite bhinnevadārite vā doṣabhakṣitatvāc chuktidhautam ivābhāti asthinissāraś ca bhavati | āśrāvaś cātra tanur vvicchinnaḥ picchilo 'valambī sarudhirotmathitaś ca bhavati | koṣṭhagatas tu mūtrapurīṣapūyarudhirodakāni sravati | marmmagatas tu nocyate tvagādiṣv evāvaruddhatvāt || atha sarvvavraṇavedanām vakṣyāmaḥ || todanabhedanacchedanatāḍanāvamanthanāyāmanavikṣepaṇacumucumāyananirddarśanāvabhañjanasphoṭanavidāraṇotpāṭanakampanavividhaśūlaviśleṣaṇavikiraṇapūraṇastambhanasvapanākuñcanāṅkusikāḥ sambhavanti || vividhā vā yatra muhurmmuhur vvedanā āgacchanti tam vātikam iti vindyāt | ūṣācoṣaparidāhadhūmāyanāni yatrāṅgārāvakīrṇṇam iva vedanā sarujan tīkṣṇasampātipacyate | yatra coṣmābhir vvṛddhir bbhavati kṣate kṣārāvasiktavac ca yatra vedanāviśeṣā ghotātam paittikam iti vindyāt | pittavad raktasamutthañ jānīyāt | viśeṣo raktado raktasrāvaś ca bhavati | kaṇḍūrgurutvaṃ suptatā svedo 'lpavedanatvaṃ stambhaḥ śaityañ ca yatra taṃ ślaiṣmikam iti vindyāt | yatra sarvvavedanāsamutpattis taṃ sānnipātikam iti viṃdyāt || ata ūrddhvaṃ sarvvavarṇṇam vakṣyāmaḥ | bhasmakapotāsthivarṇṇaḥ paruṣo 'ruṇavarṇṇaḥ kṛṣṇa iti mārutajasya | nīlaḥ śyāvo haritaḥ pītaḥ kṛṣṇo raktaḥ piṅgala iti pittaraktasamutthayoḥ | śvetaḥ snigdhaḥ pāṇḍur iti śleṣmajasya | sarvvavarṇṇopetaḥ sānnipātikaḥ || bhavati cātra ślokaḥ | na kevalam vraṇeṣūkto vedanāvarṇṇasaṅgrahaḥ | sarvvaśophavikāreṣu vraṇaval lakṣayed bhiṣag iti || 22 ||
athātaḥ kṛtyākṛtyavidhiṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || tatra vayaḥsthānān dṛḍhānām prāṇavatāṃ satvavatām ātmavatāñ ca sucikitsyā vraṇā bhavanti || ekaikasmin vā puruṣe yatraitad guṇapañcakam bhavati | tasya khalu sādhanīyatamāḥ | tatra vayaḥsthānām pratyagradhātutvād āśu vraṇasaṃroho bhavati | dṛḍhānāṃ sthirabahumāṃsatvāc chastram avacāryamāṇaṃ sirāsnāyvādīn viśeṣān na prāpnoti prāṇavatām vedanābhighātāhārayantraṇādibhir nna glānir bbhavati | satvavatān dāruṇair api kriyāviśeṣair nna vyathā bhavati | ātmavatām punar mmitāhāravihārādibhir upadeśair nnānyathā matiḥ pravarttate | sarvvañ caiṣāṃ sādhur bbhavati | tasmād eṣāṃ sukhasādhanīyatamāḥ || ta eva viparītaguṇāḥ | vṛddhakṛṣālpaprāṇabhīruṣv anātmavatsu ca draṣṭavyāḥ || sphikpāyuprajananalalāṭagaṇḍauṣṭhaphalakoṣodarajatrumukhābhyantarasaṃsthāḥ sukharopaṇīyā vraṇāḥ || akṣidantanāsāapāṅgaśrotranābhijaṭharasevanīnitambapārśvakukṣistanakakṣasandhibhāgagatāḥ saphenapūyānilaraktavāhinontaḥśalyāś ca duścikitsyāḥ || romāntopanakhamanmajaṅghāsthisaṃśritāś ca bhagandaram api cāntarmmukhaṃ sevanīkakcupasthasaṃśritam iti || kuṣṭhinām viṣajuṣṭānāṃ śoṣiṇām madhumehinām | vraṇāḥ 𑑛 kṛcchreṇa sidhyanti yeṣāñ cāpi vraṇe vraṇāḥ || avapāṭikāniruddhaprakāsasanniruddhagudajaṭharagranthikṣatakrimayaḥ pratiśyāyajāḥ koṣṭhajāś ca tvagdoṣiṇām pramehiṇām vā ye pratikṣateṣu dṛśyante śarkkarā sikatāmehī vātakuṇḍālikāṣṭhīlā dantaśarkkaropakuśakaṇṭhakāśālūkaniṣkoṣaṇadūṣitā dantaveṣṭā visarppāsthikṣatoraḥkṣatayaś ca yāpyāḥ || || bha bhavanti cātra || sādhyā yāpyatvam āyānti yāpyāś cāsādhyatām iyuḥ | asādhyāś cādaduḥ prāṇān narāṇām akriyāvatāṃ || evaṃ yāpyam vijānīyāt kriyā dhārayate hitaṃ | kriyāyān tu nivṛttāyāṃ sadya eva vinaśyati || prāptā kriyā dhārayate yāpyavyādhitam āturaṃ | prapatantam ivāgāram viṣkambhaḥ sādhu yojitaḥ || kriyāyān tu nivṛttāyāṃ sadya eva vinaśyati | viṣkambhapatanād yadvad gṛhasya patanaṃ dhruvaṃ || ata ūrddhvam asādhyān padekṣyāmaḥ || māṃsapiṇḍ o a vad udgatāḥ prasekinontaḥpūyā vedanāvantaḥ | aśvāpānavad udvṛttauṣṭhāḥ kecit kaṭhinā gośṛṅgavad udgatāḥ | mṛdumāṃsaprarohāḥ | apare duṣṭarudhirāśrāviṇaḥ | tantupicchilāsrāviṇo vā madhyonnatāḥ | kecid avasannaśuṣiraparyantāḥ | śaṇatūlavat snāyujālavanto durddarśanāḥ | vasāmedomajjāmastuluṅgāśrāviṇaś ca | doṣasamutthā tāsitamūtrapurīṣavātavāhinaś ca koṣṭhaprāptāḥ | ta evobhayato bhāgaṃ vraṇamukheṣu pūyaraktanirvvāhiṇaḥ kṣīṇamāṃsānāñ ca sarvvato gatayas tv aṇumukhān māṃsabudbudavantaḥ saśabdavātavāhinaś ca śiraḥkaṇṭhasthāḥ | kṣīṇamāṃsānāñ ca pūyarudhiranirvvāpinaḥ | arocakāvipākakāsaśvāsopadravayuktāḥ | bhinne ca śiraḥkapāla yatra mastuluṅgadarśanan tridoṣaliṅgaprādurbhāvaḥ | kāsaśvāsau vā yasyeti || [conspicuous filling sign] bhavanti cātra ślokāḥ || vasāmedo 'tha majjānam mastuluṅgañ ca yaḥ sravet | āgantujo vraṇaḥ sidhyen na sidhyed doṣasambhavaḥ || 𑑛 amarmmopahite deśe sirāsaṃdhyasthivarjjite | vikāro yo 'nuparyeti tad asādhyasya lakṣaṇaṃ || krameṇopacayaṃ prāpto 𑑛 dhātūn anugataḥ śanaiḥ | na śakyam unmūlayituṃ vṛddho vṛkṣa ivāmayaḥ || sa sthiratvān mahattvāc ca dhātvanukramaṇena ca | nihantyauṣadhavīryāṇi balavattvāt tathaiva ca || ato yo viparītaḥ syāt sukhasādhyaḥ sa ucyate | abaddhamūlaḥ kṣupako yadvad utpāṭane sukhaṃ || tribhir ddoṣair anākrāntaḥ śyāvauṣṭhaḥ piḍakī samaḥ | avedano nirāsrāvo vraṇaḥ śuddha iti smṛtaḥ || kapotavarṇṇapratimo yasyānte kledavarjjitāḥ || sthirāś ca piṭakāvanto rohatīti tam ādiśet || rūḍhavarmmāṇam agranthim aśūnam arujam vraṇaṃ | tvaksavarṇṇaṃ samatalaṃ samyag rūḍham vinirddiśet || doṣaprakopād vyāyāmād abhighātād ajīrṇṇataḥ | harṣāt krodhād bhayād vāpi vraṇo rūḍho 'pi dīryate || 23 ||
athāto vyādhisamuddeśīyam vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || dvividhā vyādhayaḥ | śastrasādhyāḥ snehādikriyāsādhyāś ca | tatra śastrasādhyeṣu snehādikriyā na pratiṣidhyate | snehādisādhyeṣu śastrakarmma na kriyate || asmim̐s tu śāstre sarvvatra sāmānyāt | sarvveṣāṃ vyādhīnāṃ yathāsthaulyenāvarodhaḥ kriyate | prāgabhihitaṃ tadduḥkhasaṃyogād vyādhir iti | tac ca duḥkhan trividhaṃ | ādhyātmikam ādhibhautikam ādhidaivikam iti | tac ca duḥkhaṃ saptavidhe vyādhāv upanipatati | saptavidhās tu vyādhayaḥ | tad yathā ādibalapravṛttāḥ | janmabalapravṛttāḥ | doṣabalapravṛttāḥ | kālabalapravṛttāḥ | saṃghātabalapravṛttāḥ | daivabalapravṛttāḥ | svabhāvabalapravṛttāś ceti || tatrādibalapravṛttā śukraśoṇitadoṣānvayāḥ | kuṣṭhārśaḥprabhṛtayaḥ | te pi dvividhā mātṛjāpitṛjāś ca | janmabalapravṛttā nāma | ye mātur apacārāt paṅgujaḍajātyandhamūkavadhiramirmmiṇavāmanaprabhṛtayo jāyante | te dvividhā rasakṛtā dauhṛdāpacārakṛtāś ca || doṣabalapravṛttā nāma | ya ātaṅkāpacārakṛtās ta dvividhāḥ śārīrā mānasāś ca || kālabalapravṛttā nāma | ye śītoṣṇavātavarṣaprabhṛtibhiḥ samutpannās tepi dvividhā vyāpannā avyāpannāś ca || saṃghātabalapravṛttā nāma | ya āgantava ādhibhautikās ta dvividhāḥ | durbbalasya balavadvigrahāc chastrādikṛtāś ca || daivabalapravṛttā nāma | ya aupasarggā dvividhāḥ | abhicārābhiśāpābhiṣaṅgajāḥ || svabhāvabalapravṛttā nāma | kṣutpipāsājarāmṛtyunidrāprabhṛtaya iti | tepi dvividhā raktakṛtā araktakṛtāś ca | raktakṛtaḥ kālakṛtaḥ | araktakṛtaḥ | akālakṛtaḥ || atra sarvvavyādhyuparodhaḥ || sarvveṣāñ ca vyādhīnām vātapittaśleṣmāṇa eva mūlaṃ | talliṅgatvād dṛṣṭaphalatvād āgamāc ca paśyāmaḥ | yathā hi kṛtsnaṃ vikārajātam vaisvarūpyeṇa vyavasthitaṃ satva rajas tamāṃsy avyatiricya varttante | evam eva kṛtsnam vikārajātaṃ vaiśvarūpyeṇāvasthitam avyatiricya vātapittaśleṣmāṇo varttante doṣadhātumalasaṃsarggād āyata2naviśeṣān nimittataś caiṣām vikalpo bhavati | doṣadūṣiteṣv atyarthañ ca dhātuṣu jijñāsā bhavati | rasajo yaṃ raktajo yaṃ māṃsajo yaṃ medojo yaṃ asthijo yaṃ majjājo yaṃ śukrajo yam vyādhir iti || aśraddhārocakapipāsāṅgamarddajvarahṛllāsātṛptigauravapāṇḍurogasrotorodhakārśyavairasyāṅgasādāḥ | akālapalitatimiradarśanarasadoṣajā vikārāḥ kuṣṭhavisarppapiṭakās tilakālakanacchavyaṅgamasakanīlikākoṭhaplīhagulmavidradhyarśo'rbbudāsṛgdararaktapitt i a prabhṛtayo raktadoṣāt | gudamukhameḍhrapākāś cādhimāṃsārbbudārśo'pajihvāpakuśagalaśuṇḍikāmāṃsasaṃghātoṣṭhaprakopagalagaṇḍagaṇḍamālāprabhṛtayo māṃsadoṣāt || granthivṛddhigalagaṇḍārbbudoṣṭhaprakopamadhumehātisthaulyaprabhṛtayo medodoṣāt | adhyasthidantāsthitodaśūlādayo 'sthidoṣāt || tamodarśamūrcchābhramapārśvagauravahṛcchūlasthūlamūlorujambheti | majjadoṣāt | klaibyam apraharṣaś ca śukradoṣāt | tvagdoṣaḥ saṅgo 'tipravṛttir vvā malānām malāyatana3doṣāt || indriyāṇām ayathā pravṛttir apravṛttir vvā indriyāyatanadoṣād ity eṣa samāso vistaranimittāni caiṣām pratirogam vakṣyāmaḥ || bha bhavati cātra || kupitānāṃ hi doṣāṇāṃ śarīre paridhā𑑛vatām | yatra saṅgāḥ savaiguṇyād vyādhis tatropajāyate || bhūyo 'tra jijñāsyate | kim vātapittaśleṣmāṇāṃ jvarātīsārādīnāñ ca nityaṃ saṃśleṣaḥ paricchedo veti | yadi nityaṃ saṃśleṣaḥ syān nityāturā eva sarvvaprāṇinaḥ syuḥ | athāpy anyathābhāvo vātādīnāṃ jvarādīnāñ cānyatra varttamānasyānyasya liṅgan na bhavatīti kṛtvā vātādayo jvarādīnām mūlānīti tan na || atrocyate || doṣān pratyākhyāya jvarādayo na bhavanti || atha ca nityaṃ sambandhaḥ | yathā hi vidyudvātāśanivarṣaṇyākāsa̅m pratyākhyāya na bhavanti | saty apy ākāśe kadācic ca na bhavanti | atha ca nimittato bhavanti | taraṅgabudbudādayaś codakaviśeṣāḥ | evam vātādīnāñ jvarādīnāñ ca na nityasaṃśleṣo na vicchedaḥ śāśvatikaḥ | atha ca nimittatas tebhya evotpattir iti || vikāram parimāṇañ ca saṃkhyā caiṣām pṛthak pṛthak | vistareṇottare tantre sarvvabādhām pracakṣmaha iti || 24 ||
athāto 'ṣṭavidhiśastrakarmmavidhiniścayam vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || chedyās tu bhagandarārśo' rbbudaduṣṭavraṇanāḍīcarmmakīlatilakālakamedogranthiśleṣmanimittāś cāmas tathā māṃsasirāsnāyukothamāṃsakandīmāṃsāsthigatam api ca śalyam utsaṅgaḥ śataponako jatumaṇir vvalmīkamadhuṣodhimānsaḥ | māṃsasaṃghātagalaśuṇḍikā ity evamādayo vikārāḥ || bhedyās tu sarvvajāmṛte vidradhyanuśayī pramehapiṭakāṃ granthayaś ca visarppāś cāditas trayas trayo vṛddhayaś ca vidārikāvamanthau puṣkarikānāḍya stanarogāś ca sahopadaṃśaiḥ śophāś cāsarvvasarāḥ prāyaśaḥ kṣudrarogās tālupuppuṭatuṇḍikerīgilāyuprabhṛtayo 'ntaḥ pūyaśalyāḥ pañca medaḥsamutthā aśmarīhetor bbastiś ca | lekhyāś catasro rohiṇyavraṇanetravarmmāṇyadhijihvopajihve māṃsocchrayaḥ kilāso dantavaidarbbhaḥ pañca medojāś ca || vedhyās tu sirodaravṛddhiprabhṛtayaḥ || eṣyās tu gatimanto vraṇā nāḍyaḥ śalyāni ca | visrāvyo vidradhiḥ sarvvo bhaved anyatra sarvvajāt | kuṣṭhāni vāyuḥ sarujaḥ śophaś cāpy ekadeśajaḥ || pālyāmayā ślīpadāni viṣajuṣṭaś ca śoṇitam | arbbudāni visarppāś ca granthayaś cāditaś ca ye || trayas trayas te viśrāvyā stanarogās tathaiva ca | sauśiraḥ kaṇṭhaśālūkāḥ kaṇṭakāḥ kṛmidantakaḥ || dantaveṣṭaḥ sopakuśaḥ śītādo dantapuppuṭaḥ | pittāsṛkkaphajāś cyauṣṭhyāḥ kṣudrarogāś ca bhūyaśaḥ || sīvyā medaḥsamutthās tu bhitvā vilikhitan tathā | kaphagranthir alpapāliḥ karṇṇasadyovraṇaś ca yaḥ || alpagrahāt tadvad eva vraṇe kuryād ates tyajet || samyak sīvitam avekṣya madhughṛtayutair añjanamadhukalodhrapriyaṃguśallakīphalarasāñjanakṣaumamasīcūrṇṇaiḥ pratisārya bandhenopacaret || bhavanti cātra ślokāḥ || etad aṣṭavidhaṅ karmma samāsena prakīrttitaṃ | cikitsiteṣu kārtsnyena vistaras tasya vakṣyate || hīnātiri𑑛ktan tiryak ca gātracchedanam ātmanaḥ | etāś catasro 'ṣṭavidhe karmmaṇi vyāpadaḥ smṛtāḥ || ajñānalobhāhitavākyayogair bbhayapramohair aparaiś ca bhāvaiḥ | vaidyo yadā śastram abhiprayuñjan saśeṣadoṣān kurute vikārān || taṃ kṣāraśastrāgnibhir auṣadhaiś ca bhūyo 'bhiyuñjan tam ayuktiyuktaṃ | jijīviṣur dūrata eva vaidyam vivarjayed ugraviṣāhitulyaṃ || tad eva yuktaṃ tvaci marmmasandhīn hiṃsā sirā snāyum athāsthi caiva | mūrkhaprayuktam puruṣaṃ kṣaṇena prāṇair vviyuñjyād atha vā kadācit || bhramaḥ pralāpaḥ patanam pramoho viceṣṭanaṃ līyanam uṣṇatā ca | suptāṅgatā mūrchanam ūrddhvavātas tīvrā rujo vātakṛtāś ca tās tāḥ || māṃsodakābhaṃ rudhitañ ca gacchet sarvvendriyārthoparamas tathaiva | daśārddhasaṃkhyeṣv atha vikṣateṣu sāmānyato marmmasu liṅgam uktaṃ || surendragopapratimam prabhūtaṃ raktaṃ sravet tatkṣatajaś ca vāyuḥ | karoti rogān vividhān yathoktān sirāsu chinnāsv atha vikṣatāsu || kaubjaṃ śarīrāvayavāvasādaḥ kriyāsv aśaktis tumulā rujaś ca | cirād vraṇo rohati yasya cāpi taṃ snāyuviddhaṃ manujaṃ vyavasyet || śophābhivṛddhis tumulā rujaś ca balakṣayaḥ sarvvata eva śophaḥ | kṣateṣu sandhiṣv acalācaleṣu syāt sarvvakarmoparamaś ca liṅgaṃ || 𑑛 ghorā rujo yasya niśādineṣu sarvvāsv avasthāsu ca naiti śāntiṃ | bhiṣag vipaścid viditārthasūtras tam asthividdhaṃ manujaṃ vyavasyet || yathāsvam etāni vibhāvayec ca liṃgāni marmmasv abhitāḍiteṣu | pāṇḍur vvivarṇṇaḥ sparśan na veti yo māṃsamarmmaṇy abhitāḍitaḥ saḥ || ātmānam evātijaghanyakārī śastreṇa yo hiṃsati karmma kurvvan | tam ātmavān ātmanudaṅ kuvaidyam vivarjayed āyur abhīpsamānaḥ || tiryakpraṇihite śastre doṣāḥ purvvam udāhṛtāḥ | tasmāt pariharan doṣān kuryāc chastranipātanam || mātaram pitaram putrān bāndhavān api cāturaḥ | apy etāñ chaṅkate nityaṃ vaidye viśvāsam eti ca || visṛjaty ātmanātmāna na cainam pariśaṅkate | tasmāt putravad eveha pālayed āturam bhiṣak || karmmaṇā kaścid ekena dvābhyāṃ kaścit tribhis tathā | vikāraḥ sādhyate kaścic caturbbhir api karmmabhiḥ || 25 || ❈ ||
athātaḥ praṇaṣṭaśalyavijñānīyaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || atha śalya hiṃsāyān dhātus tasya yatpratyayasya śalyam iti rūpam bhavati | tad dvividhaṃ śārīram āgantukaś ca sarvvaśarīrābādhā ihopadṛśyaṃta ity ataḥ śalyaśāstraṃ || tatra śārīrāṇi dantanakharomādīni dhātavo nnamalā doṣāś ca duṣṭāḥ | āgantūni śarīraśalyavyatirekeṇa yāvanto bhāvā duḥkham utpādayanti || bha bhavati cātra || śarīre sarvvaśalyānāṃ gatayaḥ pañcadhā smṛtāḥ | ṛjvāgatam avāñcīnan tiryag ūrddhvam adhogataṃ || tāni tu yadā vegakṣayāt pratīghātād vā tvagādiṣu vraṇavastuṣv avatiṣṭhante | dhamanīsroto'sthipesīvivaraprabhṛtiṣu vā śarīrapradeśeṣu tatra lakṣaṇam ucyamānam upadhārayasva || śyāvam piṭakācitaṃ śophavedanāvantam muhurmmuhuḥ śoṇitāsrāviṇam budbudavad udgatam mṛdumānsañ ca vraṇañ jānīyāt saśalyo yam iti || sāmānyato lakṣaṇam uktaṃ | viśeṣatas tvaggate vivarṇṇaḥ śopho bhavanty āyataḥ kaṭhinaś ca | māṃsagate śophābhivṛddhir asaṃrohaḥ pīḍanāsahiṣṇutā coṣaprapākau ca māṃsānām peśyantaragate 'py eva coṣaśoṣavarjjaṃ | sirāgate cādhmānaṃ śūlañ ca | snāyugate snāyujālā'sukṣepaṇaṃ | srotogate srotasāñ ca karmmaguṇahāniḥ | dhamanīgate saphenaṃ raktam īrayan samīraṇaḥ | saśabdo nirggacchaty aṅgamarddapipāsā hṛllāsaś ca | asthigate vividhavedanāprādurbhāvaḥ saśophaś ca | asthivivaragate tv asthicūrṇṇapūrṇṇatāṃ saṃharṣo vegavām̐ś ca | sandhigate 'py evaṃ ceṣṭoparamaś ca | koṣṭhagate tv āṭopānāhau purīṣāhāradarśanāni ca vraṇamukhād bhavanti | marmmagate tu marmmaviddhavad ācakṣate | sūkṣmagatiṣu śalyeṣv etāny eva lakṣaṇāni vispaṣṭāni bhavanti | mahānty alpāni vā śuddhadehānām anulomasanniviṣṭāny uparohanti | viśeṣataḥ kaṇṭhagatasrotaḥsirātvakpeśyasthivivareṣu doṣaprakopavyāyāmād abhighātāt | kṣatād api sthānāt tu calitaṃ | śalyam punar ābādhakam bhavet | 𑑛 tatra tvakpraṇaṣṭe mṛdgomayacūrṇṇapramṛditāyāṃ tvaci yatra saṃrambho vedanā vā bhavati | tatra śalyam iti jānīyāt | tatra styānaghṛtamṛccandanakalkair vvā pradigdhe śalyoṣmaṇāśu visarati ghṛtam upaśuṣyati cālepo yatra tatra śalyañ jānīyāt | māṃsapraṇaṣṭe snehādibhir āturam upapādayet | karṣitasya tu śithilīkṛtam anavabaddhaṃ kṣubhyamānaṃ yatra saṃrambhī vedanām vā janayati | tatra śalyañ jānīyāt koṣṭhāsthisandhipeśīvivareṣv avasthitam evam parīkṣet | sirādhamanīsrotaḥsu ca || snāyupraṇaṣṭe khaṇḍacakrasaṃyukte yāne tv āturam āropyāśu viṣame dhvani yāyāt | yatra saṃrambho vedanā vā bhavati tatra śalyañ jānīyāt || asthipraṇaṣṭe snehasvedopapannāny asthīni bandhanapīḍanābhyāṃ bhṛśam upācaret | yatra saṃrambho vedanā vā bhavati tatra śalyaṃ jānīyāt || sandhipraṇaṣṭe snehasvedopapannān sandhīn prasāraṇākuñcanabandhapīḍanair bbhṛśam upācaret | yatra saṃrambho vedanā vā bhavati tatra śalyañ jānīyāt || marmmapraṇaṣṭe tv ananyabhāvān marmmaṇām uktam parīkṣaṇam bhavati | sāmānyalakṣaṇam api hastiskandhāśvapṛṣṭhaparvvatadrumārohaṇadrutayānalaṃghanaplavanavyāyāmajṛmbhoṅgārakṣavathuṣṭhīvanahasanaprāṇāyāmair vvātamūtrapurīṣaśukrotsarggair vvā yatra vedanā bhavati tatra śalyañ jānīyāt || bhavanti cātra ślokāḥ || āturaś cāpi yan deśam abhīkṣṇam parirakṣati | saṃvāhyamāno bahuśas tatra śalyam vinirddiśet || alpatām apaśūnañ ca nirujan nirupadravaṃ | prasannamṛduparyantan nirāghaṭūm avedanaṃ || eṣaṇyā sarvvato dṛṣṭvā yathālābhañ cikitsakaḥ | prasārākuñcane nyūnan niḥśalyam iti nirddiśet || asthyātmakam bhidyate tu śalyamantaś ca śīryate | prāyo nirbbhujyate śārṅgam āyasañ ceti niścayaḥ || vārkṣañ ca vaiṇavañ caiva tālajañ cāpy anirhṛtaṃ | pacanti raktam māṃsañ ca kṣipram etāni dehinām || kanakaṃ rajatan tāmraṃ kṛṣṇāyastrapusīsakaṃ | cirasthānād vilīyante pittate𑑛jaḥpratāpanāt || svabhāvaśītā mṛdavo ye cānye 'py evamādayaḥ || dravībhūtā śarīre 'sminn ekatvaṃ yānti dhātubhiḥ || viṣāṇadantakeśāsthiveṇudārūpalāni tu | śalyāni na viśīryante śarīre mṛnmayāni ceti || 26 ||

athāto viparītavraṇavijñānīyam vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || phalāgnijalavṛṣṭīnāṃ puṣpadhūmāmbudā yathā | khyāpayanti bhaviṣyatvaṃ riṣṭāni maraṇan tathā || tāni saukṣmyāt pramādād vā tathaivāśu vyatikramāt | gṛhyante nodgatāny ajñair mmumūrṣor nna tv asaṃbhavāt || dhruvaṃ hi riṣṭe maraṇaṃ brāhmaṇyais tat kilāmalaiḥ | rasāyanatapojapyatatparair vvā nivāryate || nakṣatrapīḍā bahudhā yathā kālād vipacyate | riṣṭapākan tathā kecit bruvate bahavo janāḥ || asiddhim prāpnuyāl loke pratikurvvaṅ gagatāyuṣaḥ | tasmād yatnena riṣṭāni lakṣayet kuśalo bhiṣak || gandhavarṇṇarasādīnām viśeṣāṇāṃ svabhāvataḥ || vaikṛtaṃ yat tad ācaṣṭe vraṇinaḥ pakvalakṣaṇaṃ || kaṭus tīvraś ca visraś ca gandhas tu pavanādibhiḥ | lohagandhis tu raktena vyāmiśraḥ sānnipātikaḥ || lājātasītailasamāḥ kiñcid visrāś ca gandhataḥ | jñeyāḥ prakṛtigandhās tu tato 'nyad gandhavaikṛtaṃ || madyājyayoḥ sumanasāṃ padmacandanayor api | sugandhā divyagandhāś ca mumūrṣūṇām vraṇāḥ smṛtāḥ || śvavājimūṣikādhvāṃkṣapūtivallūramatkuṇaiḥ | sagandhāḥ paṅkagandhāś ca bhūmigandhāś ca garhitāḥ || kuṅkumadhyāmakaṃguṣṭhaḥ savarṇṇāḥ pittajāś ca ye | dahyante na śuṣyanti varjjayet tān vicakṣaṇaḥ || kaṇḍūmantaḥ sthirāḥ snigdhāḥ svetāḥ kaphanimittajāḥ | dahyante vedanāvanto bhiṣak tān api varjjayet || kṛṣṇā ye tv aruṇāsrāvā vātājā marmmatāpinaḥ | svalpām api na kurvvanti rujan tān api varjjayet || kṣveḍanti ghurghurāyanti jvalantīva ca ye vraṇāḥ | tvaṅmāṃsasthāś ca pavanaṃ saśabdam visṛjanti ye || ye ca marmmasvasaṃbhūtā bhavanty atyarthavedanāḥ | dahyante cāntarātyartham bahiḥ śītāś ca ye vraṇāḥ || dahyante bahir atyartham bhavanty antaś ca śītalāḥ | śaktikuntadhvajarathā vājivāraṇapakṣiṇaḥ || yeṣu cāpy eva bhāṣeyuḥ prāsādākṛtayas tathā | cūrṇṇāvakīrṇṇā iva ye bhānti cānavacūrṇṇitāḥ || prāṇamāṃsakṣayaśvāsakāsārocakapīḍitāḥ | pravṛddhapūyarudhirā vraṇā yeṣāñ ca marmmasu || kriyābhiḥ samyag ārabdhā na siddhyanti ca ye vraṇāḥ | varjjayed api tām prājñaḥ saṃrakṣann ātmano yaśaḥ || 28 ||
athāto viparītadūtasvapnadarśanīyam vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || dūtadarśanasambhāṣā veśaceṣṭitam eva ca | ṛkṣavelā tithiś caiva nimittaṃ śakuno 'nilaḥ || gehe vaidyasya vāgdehamanasāñ ca viceṣṭitaṃ | kathayanty āturagataṃ śubham vā yadi vāśubhaṃ || pāṣaṇḍāśramavarṇṇānāṃ savarṇṇāḥ karmmasiddhaye | ta eva viparītāḥ syur ddūtāḥ karmmavipattaye || napuṃsaka strī bahavo nyathā kāryānusūyakāḥ | garddabhoṣṭrarathārūḍhā rudantyaḥ sandhyayos tathā || vaidyaṃ ya upasarppanti dūtās te cāpi garhitāḥ | pāśadaṇḍāyudhadharāḥ śuklaitaranivāsanaḥ || ārddrajīrṇṇāvasavyekamalinodhvastavāsasaḥ | nyūnādhikāṅgātikṛṣṇā vikṛtā raudrarūpiṇaḥ || rūkṣaniṣṭhuravaktāras tv amaṅgalyābhidhāyinaḥ | chindantas tṛṇakāṣṭhāni spṛśanto nāsikāstanaṃ || vastrāntānāmikākeśanakharomadaśāṃ spṛśan | likhanto vā mahīṃ kiñcin muñcanto loṣṭabhedinaḥ | tailakarddamadigdhāṅgā raktasraganulepanāḥ || phalam pakvam asāram vā gṛhītvā'nyac ca tadvidhaṃ | nakhair nakhāṅkarañ cāpi kareṇa caraṇan tathā || upānaccarmmahastā vā vikṛtā vyādhipīḍitāḥ | vāmācārā rudanto vā śvāsino vivṛtekṣaṇāḥ || yāmyān diśam prāñjalayo viṣam aikapadaiḥ sthitāḥ | vaidyaṃ ya upasarppanti dūtās te cāpi ga rhitāḥ || dakṣiṇābhimukhan deśe maline krūrakarmmiṇaṃ | bhūmau śayānan nagnam vā vegotsargeṣu vāśuciṃ || prakīrṇṇakeśam abhyaktaṃ svinnam viklavam eva vā | vaidyaṃ ya upasarppanti dūtās te cāpi garhitāḥ || pitrye vā bahukārye vā tathā cotpātadarśane | madhyāhne cārddharātre vā sandhyayoḥ kṛttikāsu vā || ārddrāśleṣāmaghāmūlāpūrvvāsu bharaṇīṣu vā | navamyām atha ṣaṣṭhyām vā pakṣasandhidineṣu vā || vaidyaṃ ya upasarppanti dūtās te cāpi garhitāḥ | svinnābhitaptā madhyāhne jvalanasya samīpataḥ || garhitāḥ pittarogeṣu dūtā vaidyaṃ samāgatāḥ | ta eva kapharogeṣu karmmasiddhikarāḥ smṛtāḥ || etena śeṣaṃ vyākhyātaṃ svabuddhyā vibhajed bhiṣak | raktapittātisāreṣu prameheṣu tathaiva ca || praśasto jalasaṃrodho vaidyāturasamāgamaḥ | evam vibhāgam vijñāya śeṣam budhyeta paṇḍitaḥ || śuklavāsāḥ śucigauraḥ syāśyāmo vā priyadarśanaḥ | svasyāñ jātau svagotro vā dūtaḥ kārjakaraḥ smṛtaḥ || goyāneganāgatas tuṣṭaḥ padbhyām vā kliṣṭaceṣṭitaḥ | dhṛtimām̐ś ca vidhijñaś ca kālajñaḥ pratipattimān || alaṅkṛto maṅgalavāg dūtaḥ kāryakaraḥ smṛtaḥ || svastham prāṅmukham āsīnaṃ same deśe śucau śuciṃ || upagacchanti ye vaidyan te ca kāryakarāḥ smṛtāḥ | māṃsakumbhodakacchattravipravāraṇagovṛṣāḥ || śuklavarṇṇāś ca pūjyante prasthāne darśanāgatāḥ | strī putriṇī savatsā gaur varddhamānam alaṅkṛtā || kanyā matsyāḥ phalañ cāmaṃ svastīkā modakā dadhi | hiraṇyākṣatapātram vā ratnāni sumano nṛpaḥ | apraśāntabalo vājī haṃsaś cāsaḥ śikhī tathā | brahmadundubhipuṇyāhaḥ śaṅkhaveṇurathasvanāḥ || siṃhameghaninādāś ca heṣitaṅ gajabṛṃhitaṃ | śastaṃ haṃsarutan nṝṇām vācaś ca hṛdayaṃ priyāḥ || āsthitā vā na vo bho veśmadhvajatoraṇavedikāḥ || dikṣu śastāsu vaktāro madhuram pṛṣṭhato nugāḥ | vāmā vā dakṣiṇā vāpi śakunāḥ karmmasiddhaye || śuṣke 'sanihate 'patre vallīnaddhe sakaṇṭake | vṛkṣe tha vāśmabhasmāsthibhūtuṣāṅgārapāṃśuṣu || caityavalmīkaviṣamasthitā dīptakharasvanāḥ | purato dikṣu dīptāsu vaktāro nārthasādhakāḥ || puṃsaṃjñāḥ pakṣiṇo vāmāḥ strīsaṃjñā dakṣiṇāḥ śubhāḥ | dakṣiṇād vāmagamanam praśastaṃ śvaśṛgālayoḥ | cāsakauśikayor evan nobhayaṃ śaśasarppayoḥ || darśanam vā rutam vāpi na godhākṛkalāsayoḥ | dūtair ariṣṭais tulyānām aśastan darśanan nṛṇāṃ || kulatthatilakarppāsatuṣapāṣāṇabhasmanāṃ | pātraṃ neṣṭan tathāṃgāratailakarddamapūritaṃ || vinā surayā madyānāṃ pūrṇṇaṃ vā raktasarṣapaiḥ | śavakāṣṭhapalāśānāṃ rūḍhānām pathi saṅgamāḥ || neṣyante patitāntasthadīnāndharipavas tathā | mṛduḥ śīto 'nukūlaś ca sugandhiś cānilaḥ śubhaḥ || kharoṣṇo ni ṣṭha mba2 gandhaś ca pratilomo na śasyate | granthyarbbudādiṣu sadā cchedaśabdas tu pūjitaḥ || vidradhyudaragulmeṣu bhedaśabdas tathaiva ca | raktapittātisāreṣu ruddhaśabdaḥ praśasyate || daurmmanasyañ ca vaidyasya yātrāyān naiva pūjitaṃ | praveśe 'py evam etat syād avekṣya ca yathāturaṃ || pratidvāre gṛhe cāsya idam bhūyo na pūjyate | bhāṇḍānāṃ saṅkarasthānāṃ sthānasañcaraṇan tathā || nikhātotpāṭanam bhaṅgaḥ śastrāṇān nirggamas tathā | vaidyāsanāvasādo vā āturo vāpy adhomukhaḥ || vaidyaṃ sambhāṣate 'ṅgāni kuḍyam āstaraṇāni vā | anusṛjya dhunuyād vā pragṛhītaśiras tathā || hastam vākṛṣya vaidyasya nyasec chirasi corasi | na sa sidhyati vaidyo pi gṛhe yasya na pūjyate || vaidyam muhurmmuhuḥ pṛcchan mārṣṭi vā svāṅgam āturaḥ | bhūyaḥ saṃpūjyate yasya gṛhe vaidyaḥ sa sidhyati || śubhaṃ śubheṣu dūtādiṣv aśubhaṃ hy aśubheṣu ca | āturasya dhruvan tasmād dūtādīn samparīkṣayet || svapnān ataḥ pravakṣyāmi maraṇāya śubhāya ca | paśyanti suhṛdo yām̐s tu svapnān svayam athāpi vā || snehābhyaktaśarīrasya karabhavyāḍagarddabhaiḥ | varāhair mmahiṣair vvāpi yo yāyād dakṣiṇāmukhaṃ || kṛṣṇā raktāmbaradharā hasantī muktamūrddhajāḥ | yam vā karṣati badhvā strī hasantan dakṣiṇāmukham || ante nivāsibhir yo vā py ākṛṣyed dakṣiṇāmukhaṃ | pariṣvajeyur yañ cāpi pretāḥ pravrajitās tathā || āghrāyyate yaś ca muhuḥ śvāpadair vvikṛtānanaiḥ | piben madhu ca tailañ ca yo vā paṅke vasīdati || paṅkapradigdhagātro vā nṛtyed vātha haseta vā | nirambaraś ca yo raktaṃ dhārayec chirasā srajaṃ || yasya vaṃśo nalo vāpi vṛkṣo vorasi jāyate | mastakādyaś ca tālo vā ucchritā veṇuvīrudhaḥ || yam vā matsyo grased yo vā jvalanam praviśen naraḥ | parvvatāgrāt pated yo vā śvabhre vā tamasāvṛte || hriyate srotasā yo vā yo vā mauṇḍyam avāpnuyāt | parājayeta yuddhair vvā kākādyair vvābhibhūyate || patanaṃ tārakādīnāṃ praṇāśo dīpacakṣuṣoḥ | yaḥ paśyed devatānām vā prakampam patanan tathā || yasya ccharddir vvireko vā dasanāḥ prapatanti vā | śālmaliṅ kiṅśukaṃ yūpaṃ valmīkam pāribhadrakaṃ || puṣpāḍhyaṃ kovidāram vā citam vā yo 'dhirohati | karppāsatailapiṇyākalohāni lavaṇan tilān || svasthaḥ sa labhate vyādhim vyādhito mṛtyum arcchati | yathāsvam prakṛtisvapno vismṛto vihatas tathā || cintākṛto divā yaś ca bhavanty aphaladās tu te | jvaritānāṃ śunā sakhyaṃ kapisakhyan tu śoṣiṇāṃ || unmāde rākṣasaiḥ pretair apasmāre tu narttanaṃ | mehātisāriṇān toyasnehapānan tu kuṣṭhinaḥ || gulme tu sthāvarotpattiḥ koṣṭhe mūrddhni śiroruji | pipāsāśvāsayor adhvā ccharddyāṃ śaṣkulibhakṣaṇaṃ || hāridram bhojanam vāpi yad bhavet pāṇḍurogiṇaḥ | raktapittī pibed yaś ca śoṇitaṃ sa vinaśyati || devān dvijān govṛṣabhān jīvataḥ suhṛdo nṛpān || samṛddham agniṃ sādhūm̐ś ca nirmmalāni jalāni ca | paśyet kalyāṇabhāvāya vyādher apagamāya ca || māṃsam matsyaṃ srajaḥ svetā vāsāṃsi ca phalāni ca | labhate dhanalābhāya vyādher apagamāya ca || nadīnadasamudrām̐ś ca kṣubhitān nirmmalodakān | taret kalyāṇalābhāya vyādher apagamāya ca || prāsādān saphalān vṛkṣān vāraṇān parvvatān tathā | āruhed dravyalābhāya vyādher apagamāya ca || īdṛgvidhāñ chubhān yo vā svapnān paśyet sadāturaḥ | sa dīrghāyur iti khyātas tasmai karmma samācaret || 29 ||
athātaḥ pañcendriyārthavipratipattim vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || śarīraśīlayor yasya prakṛtir vvikṛtir bbhavet | tadāriṣṭaṃ samāsena vyāsatas tu nibodha me || śṛṇoti vividhān śabdān yo divyān asato bahūn | samudrapurameghānām asampattau ca tān svanān || tān svanām vā na gṛhṇīte gṛhṇīte cānyaśabdavat | grāmāraṇyasvanām̐ś cāpi gṛhṇāti viparītavat || dviṣacchabdena ramate suhṛcchabdena kupyati | yac cākasmān na gṛhṇīte gatāsun tam pracakṣate || yat tūṣṇam iti gṛhṇāti śītam uṣṇañ ca śītavat | sañjātaśītapiṭakau yaś ca dāhena pīḍyate || uṣṇagātro 'tigātrañ ca yaḥ śītena pravepate | prahārāt nābhijānāti sa gaccheta yamālayaṃ || pāṃśunaivāvakīrṇṇāni yaś ca gātrāṇi manyate | varṇṇānyatā vā rājyo vā yasya gātre bhavanti hi || snātānuliptaṃ yañ cāpi bhajante nīlamakṣikāḥ | sugandho vāti cākasmāt taṃ bruvanti gatāyuṣaṃ || viparītena gṛhṇāti rasān yaś copayojitān | kramopayuktām̐ś ca rasān yasya doṣābhivṛddhaye || yasya doṣāgnisāmyañ ca kuryur mmithyopayojitāḥ | yo vā rasan na samvetti tam bruvanti gatāyuṣaṃ || surabhin durabhim vetti durabhiṃ surabhīti ca | yo vā gandhan na gṛhṇāti śānte dīpe ca mānavaḥ || divā jyotīṃṣi yaś cāpi jvalitānīva paśyati | rātrau candraṃ jvalantam vā sūryam vā candravarccasaṃ || ameghopaplave yaś ca śakracāpataḍidguṇān | taḍidvato guṇān yac ca nirmmale gagane ghanān || vimānayānaprāsādair yaś ca saṅkulam ambaraṃ | yaś cāpy anirmmalaṃ mūrttim antarikṣe prapaśyati || dhūmanīhāravāsobhir āvṛtām iva medinīṃ | pradīptam iva lokañ ca yo vāplutam ivāmbhasā || bhūmim aṣṭāpadākārāṃ lekhābhir yaś ca paśyati | yo vā mayūrakaṇṭhābham vidhūmam vahnim īkṣate || dhruvam ākāśagaṅgām vā taṃ bruvanti gatāyuṣaṃ || yo jyotsnādarśatoyeṣu svacchāyāñ ca na paśyati | paśyaty ekāṅgahīnāṃ vā vikṛtām vā 'nyasatvajāṃ || śvakākakaṅkagṛdhrāṇām pretānāṃ yakṣarakṣasāṃ | piśācoraganāgānām bhūtānāṃ vikṛtān api || svasthaḥ sa labhate vyādhiṃ vyādhito mṛtyum arcchati || || vraṇapraśnam vraṇāsrāvaṃ kṛtyākṛtyavidhin tathā | vyādhyuddeśīyam adhyāyaṃ śastrakarmmāṣṭakan tathā || praṇaṣṭaśalyavijñānaṃ śalyāpanayanam eva ca | viparītavraṇajñānaṃ dūtasvapnaviparyayaṃ || pañcendriyārthavibhrāntim proktaṃ vai tṛtīyo daśa || || 30 ||
athātaś cchāyāvipratipattim vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || śyāvā lohitikā nīlāḥ pītikā cāpi dehināṃ | abhidravanti yañ chāyā sa parāsur asaṃśayaṃ || hrīr apakrāmati yataḥ kāntismṛtidhṛtiśriyaḥ | akasmād yam bhajante ca sa parāsur asaṃśayaṃ || yasyādharauṣṭhaḥ patitaḥ kṣiptañ corddhaṃ tathottaraḥ | ubhau vā jāmbavābhāsau sa parāsur asaṃśayaṃ || ā raktā daśanā yasya śyāvā vā syuḥ patanti vā | khañjanapratibhā vāpi taṅ gatāyuṣam ādiśet || kṛṣṇā snigdhāvaliptā vā jihvā śūnā ca yasya vai | karkkaśā ca bhaved yasya so 'cirād vijahāty asūn || kuṭilā sphuṭitā vāpi śūnā vā yasya nāsikā | bhagnā vā sphurate cāpi sa parāsur asaṃśayaṃ || saṃkṣipte viṣame stabdhe rakte supte ca locane | yasya syātāṃ śrute vāpi sa parāsur asaṃśayaṃ || na dhārayan__ti yaḥ śīrṣan nāharan__ty annam āsyagaṃ | ekāgradṛṣṭir mūḍhātmā sa parāsur asaṃśayaṃ || balavān durbbalo vāpi sammohaṃ yo dhigacchati | utthāpyamāno bahuśaḥ sa parāsur asaṃśayaṃ || uttānaḥ sarvvadā śete pādau vikurute ca yaḥ | viprasāraṇaśīlo vā sa parāsur asaṃśayaṃ || śītapādakarocchvāsaś chinnaśvāsaś ca yo bhavet | kākocchvāsaś ca yo marttyaḥ sa parāsur asaṃśayaṃ || nidrā na cchidyate yasya yo vā jāgartti sarvvadā | muhyed vā vaktukāmaś ca pratyākhye yaḥ sa jānatā || parilihed uttaroṣṭham uṅgarām̐ś ca karoti vā | pretair vvā bhāṣate sārddhaṃ sa parāsur asaṃśayaṃ || khebhyaḥ saromakūpebhyo yasya raktaṃ pravarttate | puruṣasyāviṣārttasya sa pa rāsur asaṃśayaṃ || vātāṣṭhīlā tu hṛdaye yasyorddham anuyāyinī | rujānnavidveṣakarī sa parāsur asaṃśayaḥ || ananyopadravakṛtaḥ pādaḥ śophasamutthitaḥ | puruṣaṃ hanti nārīñ ca mukhajo guhyajo dvayaṃ || atīsāro jvaro dhmānañ charddiḥ sūnāṅgameḍhratā | kāsinaḥ śvāsino vāpi yasya taṃ kṣīṇam ādiśet || svedo dāhaś ca balavān hikkā śvāsaś ca mānavaṃ | balavantam api prāṇair vviyuñjanti na saṃśayaṃ || śyāvā jihvā bhaved yasya savyañ cākṣi nimajjati | mukhañ ca jāyate pūtir yasya tam parivarjjayet || netre cāmreṇa pūryete svidyete caraṇau tathā | cakṣuś cākulatāṃ yāti yamarāṣṭraṅ gamiṣyataḥ || atimātraṃ laghūni syur ggātrāṇy atigurūṇi vā | yasyākasmāt sa vijñeyo gantā caiva yamālayaṃ || paṅkamatsyavasātailaghṛtagandhām̐ś ca ye narāḥ | viṣṭagandhām̐ś ca ye vānti gatās te yamasādanaṃ || yūkā lalāṭam āyānti balin nāśnanti vāyasāḥ | yeṣāṃ cāpi ratir nnāsti gatās te yamasādanaṃ || jvarātīsāraśophāḥ syur yasyānyonyāvasādinaṃ | prakṣīṇañ ca balaṃ yasya na sa śakyaś cikitsituṃ || kṣīṇasya yasya kṣuttṛṣṇe hṛdyair mmṛṣṭair hitais tathā | annapānair nna śāsyeta tasya mṛtyur upasthitaḥ || pravāhikā śiraḥśūlaṃ koṣṭhaśūlañ ca dāruṇaṃ | pipāsā balahāniś ca tasya mṛtyur upasthitaḥ || viṣameṇopacāreṇa karmmabhiś ca purākṛtaiḥ | anityatvāc ca jantūnāṃ jīvitan nidhanaṃ vrajet || pretā dūtāḥ piśācāś ca rakṣāṃsi vividhāni ca | maraṇīyan naran nityam upasarppanti sarvvadā || tāni bhaiṣajavīryāṇi pratinighnanti sarvvadā | tasmāt mohāḥ kriyāḥ sarvvā bhavantīha gatāyuṣam iti || 31 ||
