athāto vedotpattim ādhyāyaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ | atha khalu bhagavantam amaravara ṛṣigaṇaparivṛtam āśramasthaṃ kāśirājaṃ divodāsam aupadhenava vaistaraṇaurabhra pauṣkalāvata karavīra gopurarakṣita bhoja suśruta prabhṛtavya ūcuḥ || bhagavañ charīramānasāgantubhir vyādhibhi vividhavedanābhighātopadrutān āsanāthān anāthavad viceṣṭamānān vikrośataś ca mānavān abhisamīkṣya manasi naḥ pīḍābhavat || teṣāṃ sukhaiṣiṇāṃ rogopagamārtham ātmanaś ca prāṇayātārtham āyurvedaṃ icchāmaḥ | upadiśyamānam atrāyattam aihikam āmuṣmikañ ca śreyas tad bhagavantam upasannā sma | śiṣyatveneti tān uvāca bhagavān svāgatam vaḥ sava evāmīmāṃsyā adhyāpyāś ca bhavanto vatsāḥ || iha khalv āyurvedo nāma yad upāgam atharvavedasyoktam anutpādyaiva ca prajāḥ ślokaśatasahasram adhyāyasahasrañ ca kṛtavān svayambhūr alpāyuṣkālpamedhastvañ cālokya narāṇāṃ bhūyo ṣṭadhā praṇītavān tad yathā | śalyaṃ śālākyaṃ kāyacikitsā bhūtavidyā kaumārabhṛtyam agadatantraṃ rasāyanatantraṃ vājīkaraṇatantram iti| athāsya pratyekāṅgalakṣaṇasamāsas tatra śaṃlyan nāma vividhatṛṇakāṣṭhapāṣāṇapāṃsulohaloṣṭāsthibālanapūyāsrāvaduṇānrgarbhaśalyoddharaṇārthaṃ yantraśastrakṣārāgnipraṇidhānaviniścayārthañ ca ṣaṣṭyābhidhānair iti | śālākyatantran nāmordhvajatrugatānāṃ vikārāṇā śravaṇanayanavadanaghrāṇādisaṃśritānā vikārāṇām upaśamakaraṇārtham yacikītsā nāma sarvaśarīrāvasthitānāñ ca vyādhīnām upaśamakaraṇārthaṃ jvaraśophagulmaraktapittonmādāpasmārapramehātīsārādīnāñ ca | bhūtavidyā nāma devadīnavagandharvayakṣarākṣasapitṛpiśācavināyakanāgagrahopasṛṣṭacetasāṃ śāntikarmabaliharaṇādigrahopaśamanārtham | kaumārabhṛtyan nāma kumārabharaṇadhātrīkṣīradoṣasaṃśodhanārtham duṣṭastanyagrahasamutthitānāñ ca vyādhīnām upaśamakaraṇārthaḥ | agadatantran nāma sarpakīṭalūtādaṣṭasarīsṛpaviṣavyañjanārtha vividhaviṣavegopaśamanārthañ ca || rasāyanatantran nāma vayasthāpanam āyurmedhākaraṇaṃ vyādhyupaśamakaraṇārthañ ca | vājīkaraṇatantran nāma svalpaduṣṭakṣīṇaviśuṣkaretasāṃ śukrāpyāyanaprasādopacayajanananimittaṃ praharṣajananārthañ ca | evam ayam āyurvedo ṣṭāṅga upadiśyate | atra kasmai kim varṇyatām iti | ta ūcuḥ | asmākaṃ sarveṣām eva nanam eva śalyajñānam alaṅkṛtvopadiśatu bhagavān iti | sa uvāca evaṃm astv iti ta ūcuḥ | bhūyo 'smāka sarveṣāṃm evaikamatīnānām matam abhisamīkṣya suśruto bhagavantaṃ pratyakṣasyopadiśyamānaṃ vayam apy upadhārayiṣyāmaḥ | sa uvācaivam astv iti | iha khalv āyuvedaprayojanaṃ vyādhyupasṛṣṭasya vyādhiparimokṣaḥ | svastharakṣaṇañ cāyur asmin vidanty anena vāyu vidyata ity āyurvedas tasyāṅgavaram āgamapratyakṣānumānopamānair aviruddham ucyamānam upadhārayadhvam etad dhy aṅgaṃ prathamaṃ pradhānaṃ prāg abhidhānatvād vraṇasaṃrohaṇakaratvād yajñaśirapradhānasandhānāc ca śrūyate hi yathā purā rudreṇa yajñasya śiraś chinnam aśvibhyāṃ punaḥ sandhitam iti aṣṭānām api cāyurvedatantrāṇām etad evādhikam āśu kriyākaraṇād yantraśastrakṣārāgnipraṇidhānāt sarvatantrasāmānyāc ca | tad ida śāśvata puṇyaṃ svargyaṃ yaśasyam āyuṣyaṃ vṛttikarañ ca | ta brahmā provāca | tat prajāpatir adhijace | tasmād aśvināv aśvibhyām indra indrād ahaṃ mayā tv iha pradeyam arthibhyaḥ prajāhitahetoḥ || bhavati cātra | ahaṃ hi dhanvantarir ādidevo jarārujāmṛtyuharo marāṇāṃ || śalyam mahac chastravaraṃ gṛhītvā prāpto mi gāṃ bhūya ihopadeṣṭuṃ | tatrāsmiñ chāstre pañcamahābhūtaśarīrisamavāyaḥ puruṣa ity ucyate | tasmiṃ kriyā so dhiṣṭhānaṃ kasmāl laukikavidhyāl loko hi dvividha sthāvara jaṅgamaś ca dvividhātmaka evāgneyaḥ | saumyaś ca tadbhūyastvāt pañcātako vā | tatra caturvidho bhūtagrāmaḥ | saṃsvedajādridajajarāyujāṇḍajasaṃs tasmiṃ puruṣaḥ pradhānas tasyopakaraṇam anyaṃ tasmāt puruṣo dhiṣṭhānaṃ tadduḥkhasaṃyogā vyādhaya ity ucyante | te caturvidhā āgantavaḥ śārīrā mānasā svābhāvikāś ceti | teṣv āgantavo bhighātanimittā | śārīrās tv annamūlā vātapittakaphaśoṇitavaiṣamyanimittāḥ mānasās tu krodhaśokadainyaharṣakāmaviṣāderṣyāsūyāmātsaryalobhādaya icchādveṣanimittāḥ| svābhāvikās tu kṣutpipāsājarāmṛtyunidrāprabhṛtayaḥ ete manaḥśarīrādhiṣṭhānā bhavanti || teṣāṃ lekhanabṛmhana saṃśodhanasaṃśamanāhārācārāḥ samyak prayuktā nigrahahetavo bhavanti | prāṇināṃ puna mūlam āhāro balavarṇṇaujasāñ ca sa ṣaṭsu raseṣv āyattarasāḥ punar davyāśrayinā dravyāṇi punar oṣadhyaḥ | tā dvividhā | sthāvarā jaṅgamāś ca | tāsāṃ sthāvarāś caturvidhā | vanaspatayo vṛkṣā auṣadhyo vīrudha iti | tāsv apuṣpā lavantyo vanaspatayaḥ | puṣpaphalo yye tā vṛkṣāḥ | phalapākaniṣṭhās tv auṣadhyaḥ | pratānavantyo virudha iti || jaṅgamā khalv api caturvvidhā | jarāyujāṇḍajasasvedajodbhidāḥ iti | teṣām paśumanuṣyavyālādayo jarāyujāḥ | khagasarīsṛpasarpās tv aṇḍajāḥ | kṛmikuṭṭhapipīlikāprabhṛtayaḥ saṃsvedajāḥ | indragopakamaṇḍūkaprabhṛtayaś codbhidāḥ | tatra sthāvarebhyas tvakpatrapuṣpaphalamūlakandakṣīraniryāsasārasnehasvarasā prayojanavantaḥ jaṅgamebhyaś carmaromanakharudhirādayaḥ || pārthivas tu suvarṇṇarajatādayaḥ | kālakṛtās tu pravātanivātātapacchāyātamojyotsnāśītoṣṇavarṣāsu sasamplavāḥ | kālaviśeṣās tu nimeṣakāṣṭhākalāmuhūrttāhorātrapakṣamāsartvayanasamvatsarayugaviśeṣāḥ | svabhāvata eva doṣāṇāṃ sañcayaprakopaśamapratīkārahetavo bhavanti | prayojanavantaś ca || bhavanti cātra śārīrāṇāṃ vikārāṇām eṣa vargeś caturvvidhaḥ | prakope praśame caiva hetur ukta cikitsakaiḥ | āgantavas tu ye rogās te dvidhā nipatanti ha | manasy anye śarīre ca teṣān tu dvividhā kriyā || śarīrapatitānān tu śārīravad upakramaḥ | mānasānān tu śabdādir iṣṭo vargaḥ sukhāvahaḥ || evam etat puruṣo vyādhir auṣadhaṃ kriyā kāla iti samāsena catuṣṭayaṃ vyākhyātam bhavati || tatra puruṣagrahaṇāt tatsambhavadravyasamūho bhūtādir uktaḥ | tadagadgapratyaṅgavikalpāś ca | tvaṅmāṃsāsirāsnāyvasthisandhiprabhṛtayaḥ | vyādhigrāhaṇād vātapittakaphaśoṇitasannipātāgantusvabhāvanimittāḥ | sarvva eva vyādhayo vyākhyātā bhavasvanti | oṣadhagrahaṇād dravyarasaguṇavīryavipākānām ādeśaḥ | kriyāgrahaṇāt | snehādīni cchedyādīni ca karmāṇy upadiṣṭāni bhavanti | kālagrahaṇāt sarvva eva kriyākālanirdeśaḥ || bhavati cātra bījaṃ cikitsitasyaitat samāsena prakīrttitaṃ | saviṃśam adhyāyaśatam asya vyākhyā bhaviṣyati || tac ca viṃśam adhyāyaśataṃ pañcasu sthāneṣu ceti || tatra ślokasthānanidānaśārīracikitsitakalpeṣv arthavaśād vibhajyottare vakṣyāmaḥ || bhavati cātra | svayambhuvā proktam idaṃ sanātanam paṭhet tu yaḥ kāśipatiprakāśitaṃ | sa puṇyakarmā bhuvi pūjito nṛpair asukṣaye śakrasalokatām iyād iti ||

athātaḥ śiṣyopanayanīyam adhyāyaṃ vyā vyākhyāsyāmaḥ ||

vrāhmaṇakṣatriyavaiśyānām anyatamam anvayaḥ| vayaḥ śaurya śaucācāra vinaya śakti vala medhā dhṛti smṛti pratipattiyuktan tanu jihvauṣṭha dantāgram ṛjuvaktrākṣināsaṃ prasannacittavākceṣṭaṃ kleśasahañ ca śiṣyam upanayet| sa hi guṇavān tasmai deyam ato|||| viparītaguṇan nopanayet

śūdram api guṇavantam anupanītam adhyāpayed ity eke | upanayanīyan tu vrāhmaṇam praśasteṣu tithikaraṇamūhūrttanakṣatreṣū praśastāyān diśi śucau deśe go carma mātraṃ sthaṇḍilam upalipya darbhasaṃstaraṇam ahitaṃ kṛtvā puṣpai dhūpair janvair bhankais ca pūjayitvā palāśodumvarabilvānāṃ samidbhi ghṛtam aktābhir dārvīhaumikenāgnim upasamādhāyājyañ juhuyāt | pratidevatam ṛṣibhyaḥ śiṣyaṃ svāhākāraṃṅ kārayet |

brāhmaṇaṃ trayāṇāṃ rājanyo dvayasyā vaiśyo vaisyasyaiva

tato gniṃ pariṇīyāgnisākṣikaṃ śiṣyaṃ vrūyāt| kāmakrodhalobhamohamānāhaṃkārerṣyāmātsarya rūṣa paiśunyānṛtālasyāsyayaśasyāni hitvā kāṣāyavāsasā nīcanakharomṇā trirātraṃ śucinā satyabrahmacaryābhivādanapareṇa bhavitavyaṃ | mamānumatasthānagamanaśayanāsanabhojanādhyayanapareṇa bhūtvā matpriyahiteṣu varttitavyam ato nyathā varttamānasyādharmmo bhavaty aphalā ca vidyā na ca prākāśyaṃ prāpnuyāt |

aham vā tvayi samyagvarttamāne yady ananyathādarśā syāt tad eva nāsau bhāgyavidyāphalabhāk ca bhaveyaṃ |

yasmād arogavatā dharmmāsaurthakāmamokṣāḥ prāpyante |

tasmād dvijadaridrasādhvanāthābhyupagatapāśaṇḍasthitānām ātmavāndhavānām ivātmabheṣajaiḥ | pratikartavyam evaṃ sādhu bhavati | vyādhaśākunikapatitapāpakarttṝṇāñ ca na pratikarttavyam evaṃ vidyā prakāśate | mitra dharma kāma yaśāṃsi cāvāpnoti ||

kṛṣṇāṣṭamī ttannidhane 'hanī dve śuklādaye'py evam ahar dvisandhyaṃ | akālavidyutstanayitnughoṣe svatantrarāṣṭrakṣitipavyathāsu | śmaśānayānādhvatanāhaveṣu tathautsavaotpātikadarśaneṣu | nādhyeyam anyeṣu ca yeṣu viprāṇ ṇādhīyate nāśucinā ca nityam ||

| aṣṭau kalpāḥ || bhavanti cātra || vedotpattiḥ śiṣyanayas tathādhyayanadānikaḥ | prabhāṣaṇāgraha||||ṇaḥ ṛtucaryātha yāntrikaḥ || śastrāvacāraṇaṃ yogyā viśikhā kṣārakalpanaṃ | agnikarmmajalaukākhyānadhyāyo raktavarṇṇakam || doṣadhātumalādyānā vijñānādhyāya eva ca | karṇṇavyadha āmapakvamālayo vraṇitāsanam || hitāhito vraṇapraśno vraṇāsrāvaś ca yaḥ smṛtaḥ | kṛtyākṛtyavidhir vyādhisamuddeśīya evra ca | viniścayaḥ śastravidhau pranaṣṭajñānikas tathā | śalyoddhṛtir vraṇajñānaṃ dūtasvapnanidarśanaṃ | pañcendriyan tathā cchāyā svābhāvākṛd vaikṛto' pi ca | vāraṇo yuktasenīya āturākramamiśrakau | bhūmibhāgo dravyagaṇaḥ saṃśuddhau śamane ca yaḥ | dravyādīnāñ ca vijñānaṃ viśeṣe dravyagoparaḥ || rasajñānaṃ vamanārtham adhyāyo recanasya ca | dravadravyavidhis tadvad annapānavidhiḥ śubhaḥ | sūcanā sūtraṇāc caiva sādhanāc cārthasantateḥ | ṣaṭcatvāriṃśadadhyāyaṃ sūtrasthānm pracakṣate || vātavyādhikam arsānsi sāśmariś ca bhagandaraḥ | kuṣṭhamehodarā mūḍhavidradhyaḥ parisarpaṇaṃ || granthivṛddhikṣudraśūkabhagnāś ca mukharogikaṃ | hetulakṣaṇanirdeśān nidānānīti ṣoḍaśa || bhūtacintā rājaśuddhir garbhāvakrāntir eva ca || garbhasya ca vyākaraṇaṃ śarīrasya ca yat smṛtam || pratyekamarmmanirdeśaḥ śirāvarṇṇanam eva ca | śirāvyadho dhamanīnāṃ garbhiṇyā vyākṛtis tathā || nirddiṣṭāni daśaitāni śārīrāṇi maharṣiṇā | vijñānārthaṃ śarīrasya bhiṣajāṃ yoginām api || dvivraṇīyo vraṇe sadyo bhagnānāṃ vātarogikam | mahāvātikam arśāṃsi sāśmariś ca bhagandaraḥ | kuṣṭhānāṃ mahatāṃ cāpi maihikam paihikan tathā | madhumehicikitsā ca tathā codariṇām api || mūḍhagarbhacikitsā ca vidradhīvisarpiṇāṃ | granthī¦nāṃ vṛddhyapadaṃśānāṃ tathā ca kṣudrarogikaṃ || śūkadoṣacikitsā ca tathā ca mukharoginām | śophasyānāgatānāñ ca niṣedho miśrakan tathā | vyājīkarañ ca yat kṣīṇe sarvvādhasamo pi ca | medhāyuṣkaraṇa¦ñ cāpi svabhāvāc ca nivāraṇaṃ || nivṛttasantāpakaraṃ kīrttitañ ca rasāyanaṃ | snehopayogikaḥ svedāḥ vamane sa virecane | ye yor vyāpaccikitsā ca netrabastivibhāgikaṃ | netrabastivipatsiddhis tathā cottarabastikaṃ || nirūhakramasaṃjñam ca tathaivāturasaṃjñitaṃ | dhūmanastovidhiś cāgryaś catvāriṃśad iti smṛtāḥ prāyaścittaṃ prasamanaṃ cikitsā śāntikarmma ca | paryāyās tasya nirdeśāc cikitsāsthānam ucyate | annasya rakṣāvijñānam sthāvarasyetarasya ca | sarppadaṣṭaṃ viṣajñānaṃ tasyaiva ca cikitsitaṃ | daundubhir mūṣikāṇāñ ca kaṭānāṅ kalpa eva ca | aṣṭau kalpāḥ samākhyātā viṣabheṣajakalpānāt || saviṃśam adhyāyaśatam evam etad udīritaṃ | ataḥ paraṃ svanāmnān tu tantram uttaram ucyate || adhikṛtya kṛtaṃ yasmāt tantram etad upadravān | aupadravika ity eṣa tasyāgratvān nirucyate | sandhau vartmasu śukle ca kṛṣṇe sarvatra dṛṣṭiṣu | samvijñānārtham adhyāyāḥ gadānān tu prati prati || cikitsāpratibhāgīyo vātābhiṣyandavāriṇaḥ | paittasya śleṣmalasyā¦pi rodhirasya tathaiva ca || lekhyaroganiṣedhaś ca cchedyānāṃ vartmadṛṣṭiṣu | kriyākalpo bhighātaś ca karṇṇotthās taccikitsitaṃ || ghrāṇotthānāñ ca vijñānaṃ tadgadaṃ pratiṣedhanaṃ | pratisyāyaniṣedhaśirogatavijānanaṃ cikitsā tad gadānāñ ca śālākyatantra ucyate || navagrahākṛtijñānaṃ skandasya ca niṣedhanaṃ || apasmāraśakunyoś ca revatyāś ca punaḥ pṛthak | pūtanāyās tathāndhāyā maṇḍikā śītapūtanā || naigameṣacikitsā ca grahotpattiḥ sayonijāḥ | kumāratantram ity etac chārīreṣu ca kīrttitaṃ || jvarātisāraśoṣāṇāṃ gulmahṛdarogiṇām api | pāṇḍūnān raktapittasya mūrcchāyāḥ pānajāś ca ye | tṛṣṇāyāś charddihikkānāṃ niṣedhaḥ śvāsakāsayoḥ | svarabhedacikitsā ca krimyudāvartinoḥ pṛthak || viṣūcikārocakayo mūrttāghātavikṛcchrayoḥ | iti kāyacikitsāyāḥ śeṣam atra prakīrttitaṃ amānuṣaniṣedhaś ca tathāpasmāriko paraḥ | unmādapratiṣedhaś ca bhūtavidyā nirucyate || rasabhedāḥ svasthavṛttaṃ yuktayas tāntrikāś ca yāḥ | doṣabhedā iti jñeyā adhyāyās tantrabhūṣaṇāḥ || sreṣṭhatvād uttaraṃ hy etat tantram āhur maharṣayaḥ | bahvarthasraṃgrahāc chreṣṭham uttaraṃ vāpi paścimaṃ || śālākyatantrkaumāracikitskāyikī ca yā | bhūtavidyeti catvāri tantre tūttarasaṃjñite vājīkarāś cakitsā ca rasāyanavidhis tathā | viṣatantraṃ punaḥ kalpaḥ śalyajñānaṃ samantataḥ || ity aṣṭāṅgam idan tantram ādidevaprakāśitaṃ | vidhinādhītya yuñjānā bhavanti prāṇadā bhuvi || etad dhy avaśyam adhyeyaṃ adhītya ca karmmāpy avaśyam upāyāsitavyam ubhayajño hi bhiṣag rājārho bhavati || bha || yas tu kevalaśāstrajñaḥ karmasvapariniṣṭhataḥ | sa muhyaty āturam prāpya prāpya bhīrur ivāhavaṃ || yas tu karmmasu niṣṇāto dhāṣṭyāc chāstrabahiṣkṛtaḥ | sa satsu pūjān nāpnoti vadhañ cārcchati rājataḥ || ubhāv etāv anipuṇāv asamartho cikitsittuṃ | ardhavedadharāv etāv ekapakṣāv iva dvijo || auṣadhyo 'mṛtakalpās tu śastrāśaniviṣopamāḥ | ajñanopahitās tā syus tasmāt tam prarivarjayet || snehādiṣv anabhijñās tu chedyādiṣu ca karmasu | mārayanti naraṃ lobhāt kuvaidyā nṛpadoṣataḥ || yas tūbhayajño matimāṃ sa samartho rthasādhane | āhave karmma nirvvoḍhuṃ dvicakrasyandano yathā || vatsa yathā¦dhyeyaṃ tathopadhyāyasvocyamānaṃ | atha śucaye kṛtaṃ aṅgalāya kṛtottarāsaṅgāyopasthitāyādhyayanakāle śiṣyāya | yathā śaktito gurur upadiśet padam pam pādam pādaṃ ślokam vā te ca krameṇa bhūyaḥ sandheyāḥ | evam ekaikasoś ghaṭayed ātmānaṃ cātra paṭhed adrutam avilambitam ananunāsikaṃ nāvyaktātiniṣpīḍitavarṇṇam akṣibhruvaṣṭhahaster ananunītaṃ susaṃskṛtaṃ nātyuccair nnātinīcaiś ca sva paṭhe tayor adhīyānayo na cāntareṇa kaścid vrajed iti || bhava || śucir guruparo dakṣās tandī nidrāvivarjjitaḥ | paṭhann etena vidhinā śiṣyaḥ śāstrāntam āpnuyāt || vāksauṣṭhave rthavijñāne prāmlailbhe karmanaipurau | tadabhyāse ca siddhau ca yatetādhyayanāntaga iti 3 ||

athātaḥ pravacīnīyam adhyāyaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || adhigatam apy adhyayanam ananubhāṣitam arthataḥ kharasya candanabhāra iva kevalaṃ pariśramakaro bhavati || tasmāt saviṃśam adhyāyaśatam anupadapādaślokam avaśyam anuvarṇṇitavyam | kasma sūkṣmā hi dravyarasaguṇavīryavipākadoṣadhātumalāsrayamarmasirāsnāyusandhyasthivibhāgāḥ | garbhasambhavadravyasamūhavibhāgāś ca | tathā pranaṣṭaśalyoddharaṇavraṇaviniścayabhagnavikalpāḥ | sādhyayāpy apratyākhyeyatā ca vikārāṇām evam ādayaś ca sahasraso nye viśeṣāḥ | ye cintyamānā vimalavipulabuddher api buddhim ākulīkuryuḥ | kim punar alpabuddhes tasmād avaśyam anuvarṇṇayitavyaṃ || anyaśāstraviṣayopapannānāñ cārthānām ihopanītānām arthavaśāt teṣāṃ tadvidyebhya eva vyākhyānam anusrātavyaṃ | na hy ekasmiṃ cchāstre sarvvaśāstrāṇām avarodhaḥ kartuṃ śakya iti || bhavanti cātra || śāstram ekam adhīyāno na vidyā śāstraniścayaṃ | tasmād bahuśrutaḥ śāstraṃ vijānīyāc cikitsakaḥ || śāstraṃ gurumukhodgīrṇam ādāyopāsya cāsakṛt | yaḥ karma kurute vaidyaḥ sa vedyo nye tu taskarāḥ || aupadhenavam aurabhraṃ sauśrutaṃ pauṣkalāvatam | śeṣāṇāṃ śalyatantrāṇāṃ mūlāny etāni nirdised iti || || 4 ||
athātogropaharaṇīyam adhyāyaṃ vyā || trividhaṃ karma pūrvakarma pradhānakamma paścātkarmeti | tadvyādhim pratyupadekṣyāmaḥ | asya tu śastrakarmaprādhyānyāt | pūrvvaṃ śastrasambhārāne vopadekṣyāmaḥ | tac ca śastrakarmāṣṭavidham bhavati | tad yathā | chedyaṃ bhedyaṃ lekhyaṃ vedhyam eṣyam āhāryaṃ visrāvyaṃ sīvyamity ato nyat karma cikīrṣuṇā pūrvam evopakalpayitavyāni bhavanti | tad yathā yantraśastrakṣārāgniśalākāpicuplotapatrasūtaghṛtamadhupayastailatarpaṇakaṣāyālepanakalkaśītodakavyajanakaṭāhādīni parikarmiṇaś ca snigdhā sthirā balavantaḥ | tataḥ praśasteṣu tithikaraṇamuhūrttanakṣatre dadhyakṣatānnapānaratnair viprāṃś cārccayitvā kṛtabalimaṅgalasvastivācanaṃ bhuktavantam āturaṃ prāṅmukham upaveśya yantrayitvā mamasirāsnāyusandhyasthidhamanīḥ pariharann anulomaśastraṃ nidadhyād āpūyadarśanā sakṛd evopaharec chastram āśu ca | mahatsv api pākeṣu dvyaṅgulatryaṃgulāntaram vā¦ paśastrapadam uktaṃ || tatrāyato viśālas samas suvibhakta iti vraṇāḥ || ekena vā vraṇena na viśuddhyati tato parāṃ buddhyāpekṣyāntaraṃ vraṇāṅ kuryāt || bha āyataś ca viśālaś ca suvibhakto nirāśrayaḥ | prāptakālakṛtaś caiva vraṇaḥ karmaṇi śasyate || śauryam āśukriyātīkṣṇaṃ śastram asvedavepathuḥ | asaṃmohaś ca vaidyasya śastrakarmaṇi pūjyate || yato yato gatiṃ vidyād utsaṃgo yatra ya ca | tatra tatra varṇaṃ kuryād yathā doṣo na tiṣṭhati || tatra bhrūgaṇḍalalāṭokṣikuṭakakṣāvaṃkṣaṇeṣu tiryak cheda uktaḥ | anyathā tu sirāsnāyukṣaṇanād atimātraṃ | vedanācirāc ca vraṇasaṃroho māṃsakandīprādurbhāvaś ca bhavati | mūḍhagarbhodarāśmabhagandaṃramukharāgeṣv abhuktavatāṃ kurvītaḥ tataḥ śastram avacārya śītābhiradbhi pariṣicya cāturam āśvāsya ca samantāt paripīḍyāṃgulyā vraṇam abhimṛjya prakṣālya kaṣāyeṇa plotenodakam ādāya tilakalkamadhusarppipragāḍhaṃ varttim praṇidhāya patreṇācchādya kavali kāndatvā bandhenopapādayet | vedanārakṣaghnai dhūpayitvā guggulvagarusajjarasavāacāgaurasarṣapalavaṇanimbapatrājyamiśrair ājyaśeṣeṇa cāsya prāṇāṃ samālabheta | udakumbhāc cāpo gṛhītvā prokṣayan rakṣākarma kuryāt || kṛtyānāṃ parirakṣārtha tathā rakṣobhayasya ca | rakṣākarmma kariṣyāmi brahmā tad anumanyatāṃ | nāgā piśācā gandharvā yakṣā rakṣāṃsy atha grahāḥ | abhidravanti ye ye tvā brahmādyāḥ ghnantu tāṃn sadā || pṛthivyām antarikṣe ca ye caranti niśācarāḥ | dikṣu vāstuni ye cānye pāṃtu tvā te namaskṛtāḥ | pāṃtv āmṛṣayo brahmā vidyā rājārṣayas tathā | parvatāś caiva nadyaś ca sarvāḥ¦ sarve ca sāgarāḥ | agnī rakṣatu te jihvāṃ prāṇam vāyus tathaiva ca | somo vyānam apānan te pajjanyaḥ parirakṣatu | udānaṃ vidyutaḥ pāṃtu samānaṃ stanayinnavaḥ | balam indro balapatir matim vācaspatis tathā | kāmānte gandharvāsatvam indro bhirakṣatu | prajñānte varuṇo rājā samudro nābhimaṇḍalaṃ | cakṣuḥ sūryo diśaḥ śrotraṃ camamā pātu te manaḥ | nakṣatrāṇi sadā rūpaṃ cchāyām pātu niśā tava | retas tvāpy āyayaṃtv āpo romāṇy oṣadhayas tathā | ākāśaṃ khāni te pātu dehan tava vasundharā | vaiśvānaraḥ śiraḥ pātu viṣṇus tava parākramaṃ | pauruṣam puruṣaśreṣṭho brahmātmānaṃ bhruvau dhruvaḥ | etā dehe viśeṣeṇa tava nityā hi devatāḥ | etās tāḥ satataṃ pāntu diśantu ca nirāmayaṃ || etair vedātmakair mantraiḥ kṛtyavyādhivināśanaiḥ | mayaivaṃ kṛtarakṣas tvan dīrgham āyur avāpnuhi || tataḥ kṛtarakṣākarmam āturam agāram praveśyācārikam upadiśet tatas tṛtīye hani vimucyaivameva badhnīyān na cainaṃ tvaramāṇo paredyur mokṣayed dvitīyadivasamokṣaṇād vigranthito vraṇaḥ cirād upasaṃrohaty ugrarukṣa bhavati || ata urdhva deṣakālabalādīny avekṣya kaṣāyālepanabandhāhārād vidadhyān na cainaṃ tvaramāraṇaḥ sāntardoṣarohayet | sa hy alpenāpy apacāreṇābhyantaram utsaṅgaṅ kṛtvā bhūyo vikaroti | tasmāt suśuddhaṃ bahir abhyantarataś ca vraṇaṃ sa rohayet | rūḍhe py ajīrṇṇavyāyāme vyavāyādīn vivarjjayet || bha || hemante ca vasante ca śiśire cāpi mokṣayet | tryahā dvyahāc charagrīṣmavarṣāsv api ca buddhimāṃ | atipātiṣu rogeṣu nekṣetainaṃ vidhiṃ bhiṣak || pradīptad gāraṃvac chīghraṃ tata kuryāt pratikriyāṃ yā vedanāśastranipātajātā | tīvrā ccharīre pratanoti ghṛtena sā śāntim upaiti siktā koṣṇena yaṣṭīmadhukānviteneyi || hya5 ||
athāto ṛtucaryāṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || kālo hi bhagavān svayaṃbhur anādimadhyanidhano 'tra rasavyāpas tasya tu yo jīvitamaraṇe ca manuṣyāṇām āyanta sma sṛkṣmam api kalān na līyata iti kālaḥ | saṅkālayati kalayati vā bhūtānīti kālaḥ || tasya samvatsarātmano bhagavān ādityo gativiśeṣeṇa nimeṣakāṣṭhākalāmuhūrtāhorātrapakṣamāsartvayanasaṃvarayugapravibhāgaṃ karoti || tatra laghvakṣinipātamātro nimeṣaḥ pañcadaśanimeṣāmātrā kāṣṭhā triṃśatkāṣṭhā kalā | viṃśatikalā muhūrttaḥ kalāyā daśabhāgaś ca | triṃṣan muhūrttam ahorātraṃ | pañcadaśāhorātraḥ pakṣaḥ | sa dvividhaḥ kṛṣṇaḥ śuklaś ca tau māsaḥ || tatra māghādayo dvādaśa māsāḥ samvatsaraḥ || dvimāsikām ṛtuṃ kṛtva ṣaḍṛtavo bhavanti || te ca śiśiravasantagrīṣmavarṣāsaraddhemantāḥ teṣan tapastapsyau śiśiraḥ madhumādhavau vasantaḥ | śuciśukrau grīṣmaḥ | nabhonabhasyau varṣā || iṣojai śarat sahaḥsahasyau hemanta iti || tu ete śītoṣṇavarṣāvātalakaṇāḥ | candrādityayoḥ kālavibhāgakaratvād vayane dve bhavataḥ | dakṣiṇam uttaraṇ ca | tayor dakṣiṇaṃ varṣāśaraddhemantāḥ | teṣu bhagavānn āpyāyyate somaḥ | āmblalavaṇamadhurāś ca rasā balavanto bhavanti | uttarottaraṃ ca sarvvaprāṇināṃ balam abhivardhate | uttara śiśiravasantagrīṣmāḥ | teṣu bhagavānn āpyāyyate 'rkkaḥ | kaṭutiktakāṣāyāś ca rasā balavanto bhavanti | uttarottaras ca prāṇināṃ balaṃ parihīyate || bha bhavati cātra || somaṃ kledayate bhūmi sūryaḥ śoṣayate punaḥ | tāv ubhāv api saṃśritya vāyuḥ pālayati pajaḥ || atha khalv ayane yugapat samvaro bhavati | te dve ayane varṣasamvaraḥ parivatsaraḥ | ito vatsaraḥ ita vatsaraḥ vatsara ity evaṃ pañca vañca varṣāṇi | te pañca yugam iti saṃjñāṃ labhante | sa eṣa nimeṣādiyugaparyantaḥ kālaś cakravat parivarttamānaḥ | kālacakra ity ucyate | evaṃ dakṣiṇāyane rātri vyākhyātā | || iha tu varṣāsaraddhemantavasantagrīṣmaprāvṛṣaḥ ṣaḍṛtavo bhavanti | doṣopacayaprakopaprasamanimittaṃ te tu bhadrapadākṣmi dvimāsikenaivaṃ vyākhyātāḥ | tad yathā rudrapadās ca ṣuje varṣāḥ | kārttikamārgaśīrṣau śarat | pauṣamāghau hemantaḥ phālguṇacaitrau vaiśākhajeṣtav auṣapyastaruṇyolpavīryā || āhāratvam uṣagatā vidadṛnte| āṣas vāpraśāntāḥ sviti matva prāyās tās tupayujyamānā nabhasi meghāvatate jalapraklinnāyāṃ bhūmau klinnadehānāṃ dehināṃ śītavātavarṣavimtaṃsitāgnī|nāṃ vidahyante | sa vidāhāt | pittasañcayam āpādayanti | sa sañcayaḥ śaradi praviralameghadipa ty upaśuśyati paṅke 'rkakiraṇapravilāpitaḥ pittaikāṃ vyādhīṃ janayati | tā evauṣadhayaḥ kālapariṇāmāt pariṇatavīryā balavatyo hemante bhavati | āpaś ca prasāntāḥ snisvā atyaṃṣa gurvyastā upayujyamānāḥ mandakiraṇatvād bhānos matuṣāropaṣtambhitadehānāṃ dehināṃm avidagdhāḥ sehād gauravād upalepair cā śleṣmaṇas mañcayam āpādayanti | sa sañcayo vasante 'rkakiraṇapralāpitaḥ śleṣmikān vyādhīṃ janayati | tā evauṣadhyo grīṣmaniḥsārā rūkṣā atimātraṃ laghvyo bhavanty āpaś ca tāpaś ca upayujyamānāḥ | sūryapratāpoyasoṣitadehānāṃ dehinā rokṣyā lāghavāc ca yoḥ sañcayam āpādyanti | sa sañcayaḥ prāvṛṣi cātyartha jalopaklinnāyāṃ bhūmau cātiklinnadehānāṃ dehināṃ sītavātavarṣerito vātikāṃ vyādhīṇ janayati | evam eṣāṃ doṣāṇāṃ sañcayaprakopahetur uktaḥ || tatra varśāhemantagrīṣmeṣu sañcitānāṃ doṣāṇāṃ śaraddhemantaprāvṛṭsu ca prakupitānā nirharaṇaṃ || tatra paitikānāṃ vyādhīnāṃ hemante vyuṣesamaḥ ślaiṣmikānāṃ nidāghe vātikānāṃ śaradi | svabhāvata srvete sañcayaprakopopaśamā vyākhyātāḥ || tatra divasapūrvāhṇe vasantaliṅgaṃ | madhyāhne grīṣmasya | aparāhṇe prāvṛḍliṃga | mahauṣe vārṣikāṃ | sāradam ardharātre | pratyāṣasi hemanam upalakṣayet | evam ahorātram api varṣam iva śītoṣṇavarṣadoṣopacayaprakopopaśamair janīyāt || tatrāvyāpannesv ṛtuṣv avyāpannā oṣadhayo bhavanty āpaś ca | tā upayujyamānāḥ prāṇāyubalavīryaujaskaryo bhavanti || teṣāṃ punar vyāpado dṛṣtakāritāni ṣītoṣṇavātavarṣāṇi khalu viparītāny auṣadhī vyāpādayanty āpaś ca || tāsām upayogād vividha|rogaprādurbhāvo marako vā bhavati || kadācid avyāpannāneṣv api kṛtyābhiśāparakṣaḥkrodhād adharmair uṣaṃsyante janapadāḥ || viṣoṣadhipuṣpagandhena vā vāyunopanītena | kāsasvāsapratisyāyaśirorogakṣa|rair upatapyante prajaḥ | grahanakṣatracaritair vā śayanāsanayānavāhanamaṇiratnopakaraṇagarhitalakṣaṇadyādūbhī varcā jano 'tra || parityāga śānti prāyascitta vali maṅgala japa homopahārejyāñjali namaskāra tapo niyama da dāna dīkṣābhyupagama devatā brāhmaṇa guru parai bhavitavyam evaṃ sādhur bhavati | svaguṇair api bhūtaviparīteṣu vā punaḥ || viṣaṃmeṣv api vā doṣā kupyanty ṛtuṣu dehinām iti|| || ❈
athāto yantravidhimadhyāyaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || nvahmātsamanvisrotraḥ śnādvaschikoṣṭhagataśalyodvaraṇāvvamrapadiśyate | ṭānuśatam ekā yantram eva pradhānatamaṃ yantrāṇām avagaccha tad adhīnatvād yantrakarmaṇāṃ || tatra manaḥśarīrābādhakarāṇi śalyāni teṣāmāharaṇopāyo yantrāṇi || tāni ṣaṭprakārāṇi bhavanti | tadyathā svastikayantrāṇi | sandaṃśayantrāṇi | tātayantrāṇi | nāḍīyantrāṇi | śalākayantrāṇi | upayantrāṇi ceti || tatra caturviṃśati svastikayantrāṇi | dve sandaśayantre | dve eva tātayayantre | viṃsati nāḍyaḥ | aṣṭāviṃśati śalākāḥ | pañcaviṃśatir upayantrāti || ni prāyaso lohāni bhavanti | tanpratipakāṇi vā | tadā lābhe tatra nānāprakārāṇāṃ vyāḍānāṃ mṛgapakṣiṇāṃ mukhair musyāni yantrāniṇāṃ prāyasaḥ sadṛśāni bhavanti | tasmāt sārūpyād āgamād upadeśād anyatradarśanātarayuktitasca kārayet || samāhitāni yantrāṇi | kharaślamukhāni ca | sudṛḍhāni surūpāṇi | sugrahāṇi ca kārayet || svastikayantrāṇy aṣṭādaśāgulāni śinhavyāghratarakvṛkṣakadvīṣimārjaraśṛgālamṛger vārukākakaṃkāktararacāsabhāsaśamaghātyuvīrillasyenagṛdhro krośabhṛṅgarājañjalikakaṇlāvabhañjananadīmukhamukhāni masṛrākṛtibhiḥ | kīlair abaddhāni mṛlaṅkuśavaḍhavṛttavāraṅgāni | asthividaṣṭaśalyodvaraṇārtham upadiśyante || sa nigrahānugraho sandatsau ṣoḍaśāgulau | tvad māṃsasirāsnāyugataśalyodvaraṇārtham upadiśyete || tayantre dvādaśāṅgulamatsyenālakavad ekanāladvinālake varṇlanāsāsrotrogataśalyodvaraṇyartha | ḍīyantrānyanekaprakārāṇy anekaprayojanānyaikatomukhobhayatomukhāni | srotogatagalaśalyodvaraṇārthakriyāsaukaryārthavṛṣanārtharogadarśanārthañ ca | tāni srotradvāpariṇāhāni | yathāyogapradīrghāṇi bhavanti || tatra bhagandarārso rbudavraṇabastyuttarabastimṛrttavṛdvidakodaradhṛmanir udvaprakaśasannirudvagudayantraṇy alāvṛsṛṅgayantrāṇi copariṣṭād vakvṛmaḥ || śalākāyantrāṇyapi nānāprakārāṇi nānāprayojanāni yathāyogapariṇāhapradīrghāṇi bhavanti | teṣaṃ gaṇḍupadasarapukhāra | sarpahanubaḍiśamukhe dve dve | eṣaṇavyāhanacālanāharaṇārthamupadiśyante | masṛradalamātramukhe dve | kiñcidānatāgre srotogataśalyodvaraṇārthaṃ || ṣaṭ karpyāsakṛtoṣṇīṣāṇi | pramārjanakriyāsu kṣārauṣadhapraṇidhānārtha trīṇi drarvyākṛtīṇi khallamukhāni | javkaṃkuśavadanāny agnikarmāṇi trīṇī trīṇī | nāsārbbudaharaṇārtham ekaṃ kolāsthidalamātraṃ khalv atīkṣṇoṣṭha añjanārtham ekakalāyaparimaṇḍalam ubhuyato mukulāgraṃ | mṛtramojaviśuddhyartham ekaṃ mālatīpuṣpavṛttāgrapramāṇaparimaṇḍalam iti || upayantrāṇyapi rajjuveṇikācarmāntanvalkalālatāvastrāṣṭhīlāṣmantakamudgarapāṇipādatalāṃgulijihvādantanakhamukhabālāśmaśākhāṣṭhīvanapravāhaṇaharṣāmaskārttagatāni khorāgnibheṣani ceti || etāni dehe sarvasmiṃ dehasyāvayave tathā | sandhokoṣṭhadhamanyo ca yathāyogam prayojayet || yantrakarmāṇi tu duṣṭapraṇabandhanavyajanavarttanabhrāmaṇapīḍanatāḍananivaraṇavivaraṇasīvanamārgasodhanavikarṣaṇāharaṇāñchanonnāmanaviramanabhañjanonmathanavṛṣaṇaiṣaṇadāraṇahjṛkaraṇaprakṣālaṇapradhamanapramārjjanāni catuviṃsati bhavanti || svabuddhyā vibhajed yuktā yantrakarmāṇi buddhimān | asaṃkhyeyavikalpatvācchalyānām iti niscayaḥ || tatrātisthṛlamasāram atidīrgham atihrasvam agrāhi vaktraṃ śithilam atyunnataṃ mṛdukīlaṃ mṛdupośaṃ mṛdumukham iti dvādaśa yantradoṣāḥ || etai doṣair vimuktaṃ tu yantramaṣṭādaśāgulam | prasastaṃ bhiṣa jñeyaṃ tadvikarmasu yojayot || dṛśyaṃ siṃhamukhādyais tu gṛḍhaṃ kadkamukhādibhiḥ | śalyasvastikayantrais tu niraharaitta dbhiṣak chanaiḥ vivarttanasādhvavagāhate ca | gṛhodvarate ca yasmāt || tasmāt smṛtaṅkāṅkāmukhaṃ pradhānaṃ | sthāneṣu sarveṣvavikāri yac ceti ||
athātaḥ śastrāvicāraṇīyam adhyāyaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || ekaviṃśati śastrāṇi bhavanti || tadyathā | maṇḍalāgrārdhamaṇḍalāgra karapatra| vṛddhipatra| nakhaśastra| mudrikotpalapatrakādhyardhadhāra| sūcī kuśapatrāṭāmukha śarārīmukhāntarmukha| trikurcaka| kuṭhārikā| vrīhimukhārā vetrasapatra| baḍiśadanta| śaṅkveṣaṇya iti || tatra maṇḍalāgram ardhamaṇḍalāgrakarapatrāṇi cchedane lekhane copadiśyante | vṛddhipatra| nakhaśastra| mudikotpalapatrādhyardhadhāṇarāṇi bhedane cchedane copayujyante | sūcī kuṭhārikā vrīhimukhārā vetasapratrāṇi vedhane | eṣaṇy eṣaṇe | anulomāḥ karīrāḥ śastravṛttāś ca | sūcī baḍiśadanta śaṃkuś cāharaṇe | kuśapatrāṭāṣṭāmukhaśarārimukhāntarmukhatrikurcakāni viśrāvaṇe | sūcī sīvyana ity avidhaḥ śastrāṇāṃ karmaṇy upayogo vyākhyātaḥ || teṣāṃ yathāyogaṃ grahaṇaṃ | karmasv eṣa śastragrahaṇasamāsaḥ | vṛddhipatran tu vṛntaphalasāraṇe bhāge gṛhṇīyāt || bhedanāny eva sarvvāṇi | vṛddhipapatravad ardhamaṇḍalāgraṃ kiṃcid attānapāṇinā lekhane bahuśo vacārya vṛntāgreṇa viśrāvaṇāni | viseṣeṇa tu bālavṛddhasukumārabhīruṇāṇāṃ rājñā rājamātrāṇāṃ vā trikurcakena viśrāvayet || talapracchādita vṛntāgram aṃguṣṭhapradeśinībhyā vrīhimukhaṃ kuṭhārikāṃ vāmahastagṛ tapucchāṃ dakṣiṇahastāṃguṣṭhāvaskandhayā madhyamayāṃgulyā nihanyāt || tatra karapatrārāvetasapatrabaḍiṣadanta sakveṣaṇīr mūle pradeśinīprayuktaṃ || mudrikāsadṛśaṃ nakhākāraśastramukhaṃ caturvedhanaṃ sūkṣma ḍorāvabaddhaṃ mudrikāśastraṃ teṣāṃ nāmabhir evākṛtayaḥ prāyeṇa vyākhyātāḥ || tatra nakhavardhanaiṣaṇyāv aṣṭāṅgulyau sūcye vakṣyante || śeṣāṇi tu ṣaḍaṅgulāni tāni sugrahāṇi sudhārāṇi surūpāṇi sulohāni sudhautāni samāñcitamukhāni ceti sastrasaṃpat || tatra dhārā bhedanānāṃ māsūrī || lekhanānām ardhamāsūrī || vedhyānāṃ viśrāvaṇānāṃ ca keśikī || cchedanānām ardhakeśikī || baḍiśadantaśaṃku cānatāgre || tīkṣṇakaṇṭakaprathamayavapratramukhī yavapratrā eṣaṇī gaṇḍūpadākāramukhī ceti || tatra vakraṃ | kuṇḍa khaṃṇḍa kharadhārātisthūlam atyalpam atidīrgham atihraṣvam ity aṣṭau śastradoṣāṣāḥ ato viparītaguṇam ādadyād anyatra karapratrāt || tad dhi khuradhāram asthicchedanārthaṃ || teṣān nisānī ślakṣṇaśilikā dhārāsampādanārthaṃ śālmalīphalakaṃ ceti || bhavanti cātra || yadā suniṣitaṃ śastraṃ romavāhi susaṃsthitaṃ | sugṛhītam pramāṇenena tadā śastraṃ nidhārayet || anuśastrāṇi tvakkṣāra sphaṭika kāca kuravinda jalaukāgni nakhapatrā śiśūnāṃ śastrabhīruṇām anuśastrāṇi yojayet || tvakkṣārādicatuvargam bhedye cchedye ca buddhimān || āhāra cchedye bhedye ca nakhaṃ śakyeṣu yojayet | vidhi pravakṣyate paścād agnikṣārajalaukasāṃ || ye sumukhagatāṃ rogā netravarmagatāś ca ye || gojī sehāli śākapatrai viśrāvayet tu tāṃ || śastrāṇy etāni matimāṃ śuddhaśaikyāyasāni tuṃ || kārayet kaṇaprāptaḥ || karmāra karmakovida iti ||
athāto yogyāsūtrīyam adhyāyaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || adhigatasarvvaśāstram api śiṣyaṃ yogyāṃ kārayet || chedyādiṣu snehādīṣu ca karmapatham upadiśet || bahuśruto 'pyakṛtayogyaḥ karmaścayogyo bhavati || tatra puṣpahalālāvūtrapumevārukaprabhṛtiṣu chedyaviṣauṣāndarśayet || utkarttanāyakarttanāni copadiśet || dṛtivastiprasevakapūrṇṇeṣu bhedyayogyāṃ || sarosti carmatate lekhyasya mṛtapaśumahiṣāśvaśivāsūtyalanāleṣuvedhyasya || ghuṇopahatakāṣṭhaveṇunalanāḍīśuṣkālāvūmukheṣṭheṣyasya panasaviṃbīphalamujjāmṛbhapa paśudanteṭhahāryasya | sūkṣmamanavastrānṭhamṛducarmāntayoḥ vyasya mṛducapramāṃsapesyutpalanāleṣu ca karṇṇasaccivanvanayogyāṃ | pustamayaṣuruṣāṃgapratpadgeṣu bandhanayogyāṃ || ghaṭhālāvumukheṣu bastipīḍanayogyāṃ netrapraṇidhānabastipīḍanayoriti || bha || evam ādiṣu modhāvī yokarmaṇy aseyataḥ | dravyeṣu yogyāṃ kurvāṇo na pramuhyati karmasu || yastu yas tu vhra sādharmya tatra yogyāvakārayet || ḍe ||
athāto viśikhānupraveśinīyaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || adhigatantrenopāsitatantrārthiṣu dṛṣṭakarmaṇakṛtayogyena śāstrārthanigadatārājātujñātena vedyena śikhācaritavyā || nīcanakharoṣṇāśucināśucivastraparihitena chatravatā sopānatkenānuddhataveṣeṇa sumaṇaśā kalyāṇābhivyāhāreṇākuhake bandhubhūtena bhūtānāṃ sahāyavatā | tato dūtanimittaśakunamaṅgalānulomyeturagṛhamāgamyāturam abhipasyet | spṛset pṛcchec ca tribhir etair vijñānopāyaiḥ | dīrgham āyuṣyolpāyuṣo veditevyā | tatra dṛṣṭvā śarīropacayāpacayo varṇavaikṛticchāyāṃ cāturasya bhiṣag jānīyāt || spṛṣṭāśītoṣṇādīsparśaviśeṣo vipatāviparītāṃsohādīṃ pṛṣṭvā deśaṃ kālaṃ jātimārmyāmātaṅkāmutpattivedanāsamucchāyobalābalamagniṃvātamūtrapurīṣāṇāṃmapravṛttipravṛttiṃ ceti || bha || mithyādṛṣṭyā vikārā hi dvarākṛtā tathaiva ca || tathā duṣparipṛṣṭyāvaiś ca mohayeyus cikitsakaṃ || tasmāt carīkṣāḥ satataṃ bhiṣajā siddhim icchatā || yuktivyāpayaḥ sarvvai pramāṇair darśanādibhiḥ | evam abhis amikṣya sādhyāsādhayadyāpyāṃ pāyayed asādhyānnāpakrāmet || parivatasaroṣitāṃ svavikārāṃ prāyasaḥ parivarjayet || tatra sādhyātc aṣi vyādhayaḥ | prāyaso duścikitsā bhava|nti | srotriyanṛpatistrībālavṛddhabhīrudurbbalavaidyaviṃdagdhavyādhigūhakadaridrakṛpaṇakrodhanāsavatāṃ bhavanti cātra || strībhiḥ sahāsyāṃ samvāsaṃ parihāsañ ca varjayet || dattaṃ tābhir na mṛhṇīyād anyād anyad bhiṣag bhyudeti || ḍo || vedotpattiśiṣyādīkṣādānam adhyayanasya ca | prabhāṣaṇaś cāgraharaṃ ṛtucaryā tathaiva ca | yaṃtraṃ śastrāvacārañ ca yogyāsūtrīyam eva ca || viśikṣānupraveśaś ca proktaṃ vai prathamo daśa ||
athātaḥ svārapākavidhimadhyāyaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || anuśastrebhyakṣāraṃ pradhānatamo bhavati || chedyabhedyalekhyakaraṇāt || viśeṣakriyāvacaṇṇāccaṃ || tatra kṣaraṇāt kṣaṇanād vā kṣāraḥ || nānauṣadhisamavāyāntridoṣaghnaḥ | śuklatvāt saumyastasya saumyasyāpi satvodahanapacanadāraṇaśaktiriruruddhā || sa khalvārmeyauṣadhibhūyastvāt kaṭhrakaṃ uṣṇastīkṣṇaḥ pācano vilāyanaḥ | sodhano roṣaṇaḥ stambhanoṃlekhanakrimyāmakahaviṣamedasām upahantā pustvasyacātisevitaḥ || sa dvividhaḥ pratisāraṇīyaḥ | pānīyas ca tatra pratisāraṇīyaḥ | kuṣṭakiṭibhadadrumaṇḍalakilāsabhagandarsorbudaduṣṭavraṇanāḍīkarmakīlatilakālakanachavyaṅgabāhukṛmiviṣādiṣu copadiśyate saptasu ca mukharogepajihvopakuśadantavaidarbhamedajeṣṭaprakopeṣu tisṛsuṣacarohaṇīṣu etepvevānuśastrapātanamuktaṃ || pānīyas tu gulmodarāgnisaṃśārṇṇānāhasarkkarāsmargyīryabhadantarakrimiviṣārsassu copayujyate || tasya vistaro nyatārthetaracikīrṣuḥ || śarada śucir upavasan praśastadeśajātam anupahataṃ madhyamavayasaṃ kālamuskakamadhivāsyāparedyuḥ pāṭayitvā kāṇḍaśaḥ prakalpyānivātadośe citiṃ kṛtvā tilanālair ādīpayet || yathopaśāntarmau tad bhasmapṛthag gṛhṇīyāt || bhasmaśarkkarās ca | athānenaiva karṣkenkuṭajapālāśāś ca karṇṇapāribhadrakavinītakāragvadhatiṇvakārkasnuhāmārjanaktamālāvṛṣakadalīcitrakendravṛkṣāsphotāsvarakasaptacchadāgnimanthaḥ || catasrakośātakṛḥsamūlaphalaśāpatrāndehantataḥ kṣāradroṇamudakadroṇṇaiḥ | ṣaḍbhir āloḍya mūtrais ca yathoktair mahatikāṭāhe śanais sanair davyāvaghaṭṭayan vipacetsaccipacet sa yadā bhavaty acchoraktas tīkṣṇaḥ picchilasca tamādāyetaraṃ saṃsṛkṛ punar api pākāyādhiśrayettata eva ca kṣārodaṃ kuḍavamadhyardhakṛtvā panayet tataḥ || kaṭaśarkkarābhasmaśarkarāś ca | kṣīraṣakaśaṃkhanābhīraktavallīḥ | kṛtvāyase pātre tasmiṃ kṣārodake niṣicya | piṣṭvā tathaiva ca pratīvāpo yathālābhaṃ vantī citrakalāṅgalīpūtikapratutālapatrīviḍasauvarccikākanakakṣīrīhiṃguvacātiviṣāśuktī||ślakṣṇacūrṇṇaṃ kṛtvā nidadhyāt || satatam apramattaś ca dapyāvaghattayaṃvipacet || sa yathānātisāndro nātidravasca bhavati tathāpayateta || athena māgatayā karmavatārnuguptam āyase kumbhe nidadhyāt || kṣīṇabale ca kṣārodakamāvayed balakaraṇārthaṃ || bhavati cātra || naivātitīkṣṇo na mṛduḥ śuklaḥkṣṇoti picchilaḥ || aviṣyandī śivaḥ śīghraḥ kṣārohyaṣṭaguṇaḥ smṛtaḥ || atyuṣṇam atipaicchilyam atitīkṣṇyavisarppitā || atyarthaṃ mārdravaṃ śaityaṃ atyarthaśāndram eva ca || ḥinauṣadhyavipakvatvaṃttāra doṣā nava smṛtāḥ || tatra kṣārasādhyavyādhiṃ vyādhitam upavesya nivātāsambādhe dese agropaharaṇīyoktepasaṃbhārasaṃbhṛtatanoḥ | anyatamam avaghṛvyāvali khya pracchayivvā salākayā kṣāraṃ pratisāyavākchatamātram upekṣeta || tasmiṃ nipatite vyādhau kṣaṇatā dagdhalakṣaṇam | tatrāmblavargaḥ samanaḥ sarppimadhusamāyutaḥ || athace sthiramūlatvāt kṣāradagdhan na dīyate || idam ālepanaṃ tatra sīghraṃ samavacārayet aṃblakaṃñjikabījānaṃ tilāṃ madhukam eva ca || prasiṣya samabhāgāni tenaivamanulepayet || tilakalkaḥ samadhuko ghṛtāktevraṇalepaṇaḥ || rasenāmblena tīkṣṇena vīyāṣṇena tathaiva ca || āgneyenāgnisadṛśaḥ kathaṃ kṣāraprasāmyati || evaṃ cet manyase vatsa procyamānaṃ sṛṇuṣva me || aṃblavarjyārasāṃtlāre sarvān eva vibhāvayet || kaṭukas tatra bhūyiṣṭho lavaṇena rasas tathā || aṃblena saha saṃyuktaḥ sutīkṣṇalavaṇo rasaḥ || mādhūyamāstakrejati tīkṣṇabhāvañ ca muñcati | mādhūyayogān na dahed agniradbhirivāplutaḥ || tatra samyagdaś caivikāropasamo lāghavamanāsrāvas ca | hīnetodakaṇḍurḍyāni vyādhivṛddhis ca || atidagdhe dāhapākasramāṅgamarddaklamāḥ pipāsāmaraṇaṃ ceti || kṣāradagdhavraṇañ ca tu yathādoṣaṃ yathāvyādhiññ cāpakramet || atha kṣārakṣaḍyābhavantiṃ | durbalabālachavirabhīrusarvāṅgasūnodarīgarbhiṇīdantamatīpravṛddhajvarīpramehīkṣakṣetakṣīṇatṛṣṇāmūrcchopadrutaklībādradvṛtodvṛttephalayonyas castathā || marmasirāsnāyusandhitaruṇāsthisevanīgalanābhinakhāntarasepasrotaḥ svalpamānsapradeseṣv akṣāṃs ca na dadyād anyatra carmarogāt || tatra kṣārasādhyeṣv api vyādhiṣu sūnagātramasthisūlinamannadvesinaṃ hṛdayasandhipīḍopadrutañ ca kṣāro na sādhayati || bha || viṣāgniśastrāsanimṛtyutulyaḥ kṣāro bhavatyalpamatiprayuktaḥ | sandhapramattena sadā prayukte | rogāni hanyād acireṇa ghorān iti || ḍoṃ||
athātaḥ agnikarmavidhimadhyāyāṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || kṣārād agnir garīyāṃ kriyāsu vyākhyātās tudṛgcānāṃ rogāṇāmapunarbhāvāt svedasastrakṣārairasakṣānāṃtatsādhanāc ca || athaimāni dahanopakaraṇāni bhavnti | pippalyajāsakṣatsedantasarasalākājāṃvoṣṭhautaralohakṣaudraguḍasnehādīni | tatra pippalyajāsakṣadsedantaśarasalāḥstvaggatānāṃ | jastvoṣṭhetaralohāḥ māṃsagatānāṃ | kṣaudraguḍasnehāḥ sirāsnāyusandhyasthigatānām || tatrāgnikarma sarvartuṣu kuyād anyatra saradgrīṣmābhyām | tatrāpyātyayike 'gnisādhye | vyādhau tatpratyanīkamvidhiṃ kṣatvā sarvavyādhiṣvṛtuṣu ca picchilamannam bhuktavataḥ | tatra dvividhamagnidagdhamādbhareke | tvagdagdhaṃ mānsadagdhaṃ ca | iha tu śirāsnāyusandhyasthiṣv api na pratiṣiddhogniḥ tatra śabdaprādurbhāvo durgandhatā tvaksaṃkocas camtvagda |gdhe | kapotavarṇṇatālpasvayathuvedanatāsuṣkasaṃkucitavraṇātā ca mānsadagdhe | kṣaṣṇonnatavraṇātā srāvasannirodhas ca sirāsnāyudagdhe rūkṣāruṇatā karkasasthiravraṇatā ca sandhyasthidagdhe || tatra sirorogāthimanthayor bhrūlalāṭā ¦ saṅkhadeśeṣu dahed carmarogeṣvārdranaktakapraticchannādṛṣṭiṃ kṣatvā varmaromakūpāṃ | tvaṅmaṃsasirāsnāyusandhyasthigatamugrūrojauvāyau | duṣṭavraṇamucchritakaṭhinamāṃsagranthyārbudāpacīgalagaṇḍagṛddhre sa | masakagulmodarabhagakṣarārsamanvislīpadacarmakīlaḍilakālakasirācchedanāḍīsoṇitātipravṛttiṣu cāgnikarma kuyāt | tatra valayabiṃdurekhāpratisāraṇaṃ ceti dahanaviseṣā || bha || rogasya saṃsthānamavekṣya dhīmāṃ narasya marmāṇi balābalañ ca | vyādhintathartuṃ ca samīkṣya samyak tatodhyavasyet bhiṣagagnikarma tatra saṃmyagdagdhe madhusarpirabhyaṅgaḥ || athemāni pariharet pittaprakṛtimantaḥ soṇitaṃ | bhinnakoṣṭhamanuddhṛtasalyaṃ bālavṛddhabhīrudurbalam anekavyādhipīḍitamasvedyāṃs ca || atadurddhaṃmitarathādagdhaṃ vakṣyāmaḥ | tatra snigdhaṃsrūnyārokṣañcāsritya dravyam agnir dahati | atisantapto hi snehaḥ sūkṣmamārgānusāritvāt tvagādīnanupravisyā sudadati | tasmāt snehadagdhedhikā rujā bhavati | tatra pluṣṭandudagdhaṃ samyagdagdhamitidagdham iti | caturvidamagnidagdhaṃ bhavati | tatra yadvi¦varṇṇamuṣyatetimātraṃ pluṣṭaṃ | yatrotyanti sphoṭānāṃstrīvradāhacoṣavedanācirācopasāmyati tadudagdhaṃ | samyagdagdhamunavagāḍhaṃ pakvatālavarṇṇasusaṃsthitaṃ pūrvalakṣaṇasaṃyuktaṃ ca atidagdhe tu māṃsāvalavanaṃ gātravisleṣaḥ sandhirvaiguṇyaṃ marmaśirāsnāyusandhyasthivyāpādanaṃ jvaradāhapipāsāmūrcchācopadravā bhavanti | satkrimiscet | vraṇascāsya cireṇopaharohatyuparūḍhas ca vivarṇṇo bhavati | tad reta c caturvidam agnidagdhalakṣaṇe mānupū ttraṃ pūrvakarmaprasādhakaṃ bhavati || bha || agninā kopitaṃ pittaṃ bhṛśaṃ jantoḥ pradhāvati | tatas tenaiva vegena raktañ cāpy apadīryate || tulyavīrye pyubhe hy ete rasato dravyatas tathā | tenāsya vedanāstrīvrā prakṛtyā ca vidahyate | sphoṭāḥ śīghraṃ prajāyante jvaratṛṣṇā ca bādhate || dagdhasyaupasamārthāya cikitsā saṃpravakṣyate || pluṣṭasyāgnipratapanaṃ kāyam uṣṇaṃ tathauṣadham || sarīre sviṃnabhūyiṣṭe svinna bhavati soṇitam | prakṛtyā hdudakaṃ śītaṃ skandayas tatha śoṇitam || tasmāt sukhayati hduṣṇaṃ na tu sītaṃ kathañ canaḥ | sītāmuṣṇāñ ca durddagdhe kriyā kuyāṃ tataḥ punaḥ || ghṛtālepanasekāṃs tu sītānevāsya kārayet | saṃmyagdagdhe tukṣīrīplakṣacandanagairikaiḥ || sāmṛtaiḥ sarppiṣā yuktair ālepaṃ kārayed bhiṣak | grāmyāpaiḥ sajalajaiḥ piṣvair mānsais ca lepayet || pittavidradhivaccainaṃ prasāntoṣmāṇām ācaret | atidagdhe tu śīrṇṇāni māṃsānyuddhṛtya śītalāṃ || kriyāṃ kuyā cūrṇṇakāle sālitaṇḍulakāṇḍanaiḥ | tindukṣāṅtvakkaśāyair vā mṛdubhṛṣṭair upācaret || vraṇāguḍūcīpatrair vā chādayed athacoḍakaiḥ kriyāṃ kuyāc ca nikhilāṃ bhiṣakpittavisarpavat || athedāṃ dhūm opahatavidhānasvakṣyamaḥ | svasity āsnoti cātyabbaṃkāsatekṣavate bhṛṣaṃ || cakṣuṣaḥ paridāhaś ca rāgaścaivopajāyate | sadhūmakaṃ nisvasiti ghreyamatyan na vetti ca || tathaiva ca rasāṃ sarvāṃ smṛticāsyopahanyate | tṛṣṇādāhajvarayutaḥ sīdatyatha ca mūrcchati || dhūmopahata ity eṣa sṛṇā tasya cikitsitam || sarpirikṣaraso drākṣāpayo vāśarkarāmbu vā | madhurāṃblāṃ rasāṃs cāpi vamanārthāya dāpayet || vamataḥ sudhyate koṣṭhaṃ dhūmagandhas ca nasyati | anena vidhinā tasya kāsasvāsau praśasyataḥ || ātmānañ ca jvaraś caiva tṛṣṇādāha tathaiva ca | madhurair lavaṇāmblaiś ca kaṭukaiḥ kavaḍagrahaiḥ || vāntasya kaṇṭhaśuddhir syāt dhūmagandhaś ca nasyati | saṃmyag gṛhṇāti viṣayāt sanaś cātra prasīdati || sirodhirecanañ cāsmai dadyād yośanasāstravit | tenāsya śudhyate dṛṣṭiḥ siraś caivāsya dehinaḥ | avidāhilaghusnigdham āhāraṃ cāsya kalpayet | uṣṇavātātapair dagdhaśītaḥ kāyovidhiḥ sadā || śītavarṣānilahate uṣṇaḥ snigdhaś ca sasyate || tathātitejasādaścesiddhinaikāntikī bhaved iti ||
athāto jalāyukādhyāyam vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || nṛpāḍhya sukumāra bāla sthavira bhīru ṇārīṇāṃ anugrahārtham paramasu¦kumāro 'yaṃ śoṇitāvasecanopāyābhihito jalaukasaḥ || tatra vātapittakaphaduṣṭaśoṇitaṃ yathāsakhyaṃ sṛṅgajalaukālābubhir avasecayet | sarvāṇi sarvair vā viśeṣas tu visrāvyaṃ || bhavanti cātra | snigdhaṃ slakṣṇaṃ samadhurāṅ gavāṅgagaṃ prakīrttitam | tasmād vātopasṛṣṭe tu hitan tad avasecane || ardhacandrākṛti mahattanu saptāṃgulāyataṃ | pracchite dāpayet pūrvam āsyenācūṣayan valī || śītādhivāsā madhurā jalaukā vārisaṃbhavā tasmāt pittopasṛṣṭe tu hitās tā avasecane || kaṭurūkṣatīkṣṇaś ca alābuḥ parikīrttitam | tasmāc chleṣmopasṛṣṭe tu hitaṃ tad avasecane || tatra pracchite tanu basthi paṭalāvanaddhena śṛṅgeṇa śoṇitam avasecayet acūṣaṇād antardīptenālābunā || jalam āsām āyur ity ato jalāyukāḥ | oko nivāso jalam āsām oka ity ato jalaukasaḥ | tāḥ dvādaśaḥ saviṣāḥ ṣaṭ | tāvantya eva niva nirviṣāḥ || kṛṣṇā karburā alagardā indrāyudhā sāmudrikā govadanā ceti || tāsv añjanavarṇṇā pṛthuśīrṣā kṛṣṇā nāma | varmivatsyavad āyatā chinnonnatakukṣiḥ karburā nāma | romaśā mahāpārśvā kṛṣṇamukhā alagardā nāma | indrāyudhādhavad ūrdhvarājī citrā indrayudhā | īṣadaṣitapītikā vicitrapuṣpākṛticitā sāmudrikā nāma | govṛṣaṇavad adhobhāge dvidhābhūtākṛtir aṇamukhī govandanā nāma | tābhir daṣṭe daṃśe svayathur a¦timātraṃ kaṇḍūmūrcchā jvaro dāhaccharddir iti liṅgāni bhavanti | tatra mahāgadaḥ | pānālepanādiṣūpa¦yojyaḥ | indrāyudhādaṣṭam asādhyam ity etāḥ saviṣās sacikitsitā vyākhyātāḥ || atha nirviṣā kapilā piṃgalā saṅkumukhī mūpikā puṃḍarīkamukhī sāvarikā ceti | tatra manaḥśilārañjitābhyām iva rśvābhyāṃ pṛṣṭe snigdhavarṇṇā kapilā nāma | kiñcidraktā vṛttakāyā piṅgalyāśugā piṅgalā | yakṛdvarṇṇā śīghrapāyinī dīrghamu khī śaṃkumukhī | vidūṣikākṛtivarṇṇāniṣṭagandhā mūṣikā nāma | mudgavarṇṇā puṇḍarīkatulyavaktrā puṇḍarīkā nāma | padmapatravarṇṇāṣṭādaśāṃdagulapramāṇā śāvarikā nāma | sā paśvarthe tv aviṣā vyākhyātā || tāsāṃ yavanapāṇḍyasahya potanādīni kṣetrāṇi bhavanti | tāsām mahāśarīrā balavatyaḥ | śīghrapāyinyo mahāśanā nirviṣāś ca viśeṣeṇa bhavanti | tatra saviṣa kīṭā darddura mūtra purīṣa kotha jātāḥ kaluṣveṣv ambhaḥsu ca saviṣāḥ || padmopala kumuda saugandhika śaivāla kotha jātā vimaleṣv ambhaḥsu ca nirviṣāḥ || bhabhavati cātra || kṣetreṣu vicaranty etās salilāḍhyasugandhiṣu | na ca saṅkīrṇṇacāriṇyo na ca paṃkośayāḥ smṛtā || tāsāṃ grahaṇam ārdracarmaṇānyair vā prayogair gṛhītvā | athaitā nave mahati ghaṭosarastaḍākodakapaṃkān āvāpya nidadyāt | bhakṣārthañ cāsām upaharet | śevālam vallūram odakāś ca kandāṃ cūrṇṇīkṛtya | śayyārthe tṛṇam odakāni patrāṇi tryahā tryahāc cāsāṃ jalabhaktaṃ dadyāt | saptarātrāt saptarātrād ghaṭaṃ anyaṃ saṃkrāmayet | bhavati cātra | sthūlamadhyā parikliṣṭā tanvyaś cākṣetrajāś ca yāḥ || agrāhiṇyo lpapāyinyaḥ saviṣāś ca na poṣayet || atha jalaukāvasekasādhyavyādhiṃ vyādhitam upaveśya saṃveṣya vā virūkṣya tam avakāśaṃ mṛdgomayacūrṇṇair yad yat sarujaṃ syād atha jalaukasaḥ sarṣaparajanī pradigdha gātryaḥ | salilasarakamadhyasaṃcāriṇī vigatamalāḥ kṛtvā roga grāhayet | atha na gṛhṇatyāḥ kṣīrabinduṃ śoṇitabidum vā nidadhyāt | śastrapadāni vā kurvīta | athevam api na gṛhṇīyāt anyāṃ grāhayed yadā niviśate śvakhuravad ānanaṃ kṛtvonāmya ca skandam evañ jānīyād gṛ¦hṇātīti | athainām ārdraplotāvacchanna kṛtvā dhārayet | atha daṃśe toda kaṇḍū prādur bhāvo jānīyāc chuddham ādadātīti | tām apanayet | atha śoṇitagandhena na muñcet mukham asyāḥ saindhavacūrṇṇenāvakiret || athainā śāli taṇḍula kāṇḍana praliptān taula lavaṇābhyaktamukhīṃ vāmahastagṛhītapucchāṃ dakṣiṇahastāṃguṣṭhāṃgulībhyāṃ śanaiḥ śanair anu¦lomamārjayann ā mukhādmaye vat samyagnteti | samyagvāntā salilasarake nyastā bhoktukāmā satī care¦d yā śīti na ceṣṭate sā durtvāntā punaḥ samyaka vāmayet | durvāntāyās tu indrāpado nāma vyādhir asā¦dhyo bhavati || aprahṛṣṭaśiraḥ pāti kāyenodveṣṭate sakṛt | yā coṣṇaṃ kurute toṣṭayan tasyān idramadaḥ smṛtaḥ | athaināṃ pūrvavat sannidadhyāt | śoṇitasya ca yogāyogam avekṣya jalaukāmukhaṃ madhunāvaghaṭṭayet | badhnīta vā kaśāyamadhurasnigdhaśītaiś ca pradehaiḥ pradihyād iti || bhavati cātra | pītamātre jalaukābhir ghṛtena pariṣecayet | śoṇitasthāpanīyaiś ca śoṇitam pariṣecayet || kṣetrāṇi grahaṇañ cāpi poṣaṇaṃ sāvacāraṇaṃ | jānīyād yo jalaukānāṃ sajñaḥ kartum arhati || 10 3
athāta śoṇitavarṇṇanīyam adhyamāyāāyām vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || pāñcabhautikasya caturvidhasyāhārasya ṣaḍrasopetasya dvividhavīryasyāṣṭavidhavīryasya vā anekaguṇopayuktasyāhārasya samyakṣariṇatasya yas tejoguṇabhūtaḥ sāraḥ paramasūkṣmaḥ sa rasa ity ucyate | tasya hṛdayaṃ sthānaṃ | sa hṛdayāc caturviṃśatir dhamanīr anupraviśyordhvagā daśa daśa cādhogāminyaś catasras tiryaggāḥ kṛtsnaṃ śarīram ahar ahas tarpayati jīvayati yāpayati vardhayati cādṛṣṭahetukena karmaṇā | tasya śarīram anusarato numānad gatir upalakṣayitvā kṣayavṛddhīhetukī || tasmiṃ śarīrāvayavadoṣadhātumalāśayānusāriṇi rase jijñāsā | kim ayaṃ saumyas taijasa iti | sa khalu dravatvād anusaraṇe snehanajīvanatarpaṇadhāraṇādibhir viśeṣaiḥ | saumya ity avagamyate | sa khalv āpyo raso yakṛtplīhānau prāpya rāgam upaiti || bha || rañjitās tejasā tv āpaḥ śarīrasthena dehināṃ | avyāpannāḥ prasannena raktam ity eva tad viduḥ || rasād eva striyo raktam ṛtusaṃjñaṃ pravartate dvādaśād vardhate varṣād yāti pañcāśataḥ kṣayaṃ | ārttavaṃ śoṇitaṃ tv āgneyam āhuḥ | agnīṣomīyatvād garbhasya pāñcabhautikatvam apare jīvaṃ raktam ācāryāḥ || bha || visratā dravatā rāgaḥ spandanan tanutā tathā | pṛthivyādiguṇās tv ete dṛśyante śoṇite yataḥ | rasād raktaṃ tato māṃsaṃ māṃsān meda pravarttate medaso 'sthi tato majjā majjā śukraṃ tataḥ prajāḥ || tatraiṣān dhātūnāmm annapānarasaḥ prīṇāyitā bhavati || bha || rajasaṃ puruṣaṃ vidyā rasaṃ rakṣeta yatnataḥ | annapānaprayogena āhā¦reṇa suyaṃtritaḥ tatra rasa gato dhātur ahar ahar gacchatīti rasaḥ | pañcavinśati kalāmatāni | caturaśītiś ca nava ca kāṣṭhā ekaikasmin dhātāv ātāv āvatiṣṭhante | evam māsena rasaḥ śukrībhavati strīṇāñ cārttavam iti || bha || aṣṭādaśasahasrāṇi saṃkhyā hy asmiṃ samuccaye | kalānāṃ navatiś cāpi svatantraparatantrataḥ rase gativiśeṣo 'yaṃ mandāgner avasānikaḥ | anayaivoditāgneś ca vijñeyaḥ kālasaṃkhyayā || sa śabdāccijālasantānavad aṇṭanā viśeṣeṇānusaraty evaṃ śarīraṃ kevalaṃ vyājīkaraṇyas tv auṣadhyaḥ svaguṇabalātkarṣād virecanad upayuktaḥ śukraṃ virecayanti || yathā hi puṣpamukulastho gandho śakyam ihāstīti vaktuṃ | naiva nāstīti | atha cāsti satām bhāvānām utpattir iti kṛtvā kevalaṃ tu saukṣmyaṃ nābhivyajyate sa eva vivṛtkesare puṣpa kālāntareṇābhivyakto bhavati | evam bālānām api vayaḥpariṇāmāc chukraprādurbhāvo bhavati | romarājy ārttavādiś ca viśeṣo nārīṇāṃ | sa evānnaraso 'bhivṛddhānām paripakvaśarīratvād aprīṇāno bhavati | ta ete śarīradhāriṇād dhātava ity ucyante | teṣāṃ kṣayavṛddhī śoṇitanimitte | tasmāt tad adhikṛtya vakṣyāmaḥ || tatra saphenilam aruṇaṃ kṛṣṇam paruṣan tanu śīghram askandi ca vātaduṣṭaṃ | nīlam pītaṃ haritaṃ śyāmam viśram aniṣṭam pipīlikāmakṣikāṇāñ ca pittena | gairikodakaprakāśaṃ sigdhaṃ śītam vahala picchilaṃ viśrāvi māṃsapeśīsamaprabhañ ca śleṣmaṇā | sarvalakṣaṇayuktaṃ sannipātena | pittavad raktenātikṛṣṇañ ca | dvidoṣaliṅgasaṃsṛṣṭaṃ dvidoṣaṃ | indragopakaprakāśam asaṃhatam avivarṇṇañ ca prakṛtistham iti jānīyāt || visrāvyān anyatra vakṣyāmiaḥ || athāvisrāvyāḥ sarvāṅgaśophaḥ kṣīṇasya cāmvlabhojananimittaḥ | pāṇḍurogyarśasyudariśoṣigarbhiṇīnāñ ca svayathavaḥ | tatra ṛjv asaṃkīrṇṇaṃ sūkṣmaṃ samam anavagāḍham antrattānam āśu śastrañ ca pātayet | hṛdaya basti guda nābhi kakṣyavaṅkṣaṇākṣi kūṭapāṇi pādatalāṃś ca varjayet | pūyagarbhāṃ punar yathoktair evopacaret | tatra durviddhe śītavātayor asvinne bhukte ca skannatvāc choṇitan na sravati | alpaṃ vā sravati || bhava || vāta viḍ mūtrasaṃgeṣu madamūrcchāśrameṣu ca | nidrābhibhūte śīte vā nṛṇān nāsṛk sraved iti || tad duṣṭaśoṇitam anirhriyamāṇaṃ vyādhivṛddhiṃ karoti | atyuṣṇātisvinnātividdheṣv ajñasrāvitam atipravarttate | tad atipravṛtta śirobhitāpam āndhyatimiraprādurbhāvan dhātukṣayākṣepakasya pakṣāghātam ekāṅgavikāraṃ hikkā kāsaṃ śvāsaṃ pāṇḍurogaṃ maraṇaṃ vāśu karoti | tan nātiśīte nātyuṣṇe nāsvinne nātitāpite yavāgūṃ pratipītasya śauṇitaṃ mokṣaye bhiṣak || samyag gatvā yadā raktaṃ svayam evāvatiṣṭhate śuddham evam vijānīyāt samyag visrāvitañ ca tat | lāghavaṃ vedanāśāntir vyādhivegaparikṣayaḥ | samyag visrāvite liṅgaṃ prasādo manasas tathā || tvagdoṣā granthayaḥ śophā rogāḥ śoṇitajāś ca tye | raktamokṣaṇaśīlānān na bhavanti kadācana || atha khalv apravarttamāne | elāśītaśivakuṣṭhatagarapāṭhābhadradāruviḍiṅgacitratakaṭukāgāradhūmaharidrārkkāṅkuranaktamālaphalair yathālābhan tribhiś caturbhiḥ | samastair vā lavanapragāḍhair vraṇamukham avagharṣayed evaṃ sādhu vadati || athātipravṛtte lodhramadhukapriyaṅgupattāṅgagairikarasāñjanaśaṅkhaśuktiyavamāṣagodhūmasarjarasacūrṇṇair anārdrair vraṇamukham avacūrṇṇāṅgulyagreṇāvapīḍayet || sālasarjarjunārimedagranthidhavadhanvanatvagbhir vā cūrṇṇīkṛtābhiḥ kṣaumeṇāvadhyāsitena samudraphenena lākṣācūrṇṇair vā yathoktair bandhanadravyair gāḍhaṃ badhnīyāt | vyadhānantaraṃ punar vyadhayet | śītācchādanabhojanāgārapariṣekaiḥ śītair ālepaiḥ pradehair vāpacaret | agninā vā dahed yathoktaṅ kākolyādikvātham vā śarkarāmadhumadhura pāyayet | eṇahariṇorabhramahiṣaśaśavarāhānāṃ vā rudhiraṃ kṣīrayūṣarasaiś cāśnīyāt | upadravāṃś ca yathoktān upacaret || bhava || dhātukṣayāt srute rakte mandaḥ sañjāyate nalaḥ | pavanaś ca paraṃ kopaṃ yāti tasmāt prayatnataḥ | tan nātiśīlaghubhiḥ snigdhaiḥ śoṇitavardhanaiḥ | īṣad ablair anablair vā bhojanais samupācaret || caturvidhaṃ yad etad dhi rudhirasya nivāraṇaṃ | sandhānaṃ skandanañ caiva pācanaṃ dahanan tathā || vraṇa kaṣāya sandhatte raktaṃ skandayate himaṃ | tathā sampācayed bhasma dāhaḥ saṅkocayet sirāṃ || askandamāne rudhire sandhānāni prayojayet | sandhānair bhraśyamāne tu pācanaiḥ samupācaret || kalpair ebhis tribhir vaidyaḥ prayateta yathāvidhiḥ | asiddhimaṣu dāha parama iṣyate | saśeṣadoṣe rudhire na vyādhir ativarttate | saśeṣaṃ sthāpayet tasmān na ca kuryād atikriyāṃ | dehasya rudhiraṃ mūlaṃ rudhireṇaiva dhāryate | tasmād rakṣed dhi rudhiraṃ rudhiraṃ jīva ucyate || cyutaraktasya sekādyaiḥ śītaiḥ prakupite 'nile śophaṃ satoda koṣṇena sarpiṣā parisecayed iti || 14 ||
athāto doṣadhātumalakṣayavṛddhim adhyāyaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || doṣadhātumalamūla hi śarīraṃ | tasmāt phalalakṣaṇam eteṣām upadhārayasva | tatra spandanodvahanapūraṇavivekadhāraṇalakṣaṇo vāyuḥ | pañcadhā pravibhaktaḥ śarīraṃ tantrayati | rāgaḥ paktis teja ūṣmākṛt pittaṃ | sandhisaṃśleṣaṇasnehanaropanabṛṃhaṇaḥ śleṣmā rasa prīṇayati | raktaṃ jīvayati | māṃsaṃ lepayati | medaḥ snehayati | asthi dhārayati | majjā pūrayati | bījārthaharṣakṛc chukram kledayati || bastikledakṛn mūtraṃ | prāṇavāyvagnidhāraṇāvaṣṭambhakṛt purīṣaṃ | sveda kledayati | garbhalakṣaṇam ārttavam | stanyaṃ stanāpīnajananajīvanam iti | tatra vidhivat parīkṣaṇaṃ kurvītaḥ || ataḥ sarveṣāṃ kṣayalakṣaṇaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ | tatra vāta alpapraharṣo mūḍhasaṃjñatā ca | pittakṣaye mandoṣmāgnitā niṣprabhatā ca | śleṣmakṣaye rūkṣāntardāha āmāśayetarāsayaśūnyatā śirasaś ca | tatra svayonivardhanāny eva pratīkāraḥ || rasakṣaye hṛdayapīḍā kampaḥ | śoṣaḥ śūnyatā tṛṣṇā ca | śoṇitakṣaye tvakpāruṣyam amlaśītaprārthanā śirāśaithilyañ ca | māmsakṣaye higgaṇḍauṣṭhopaṣṭho dhamanīnāñ ca śaithilyaṃ | medakṣaye plīhābhivṛddhiḥ sandhiśūnyatā raukṣyaṃ meduramāmsaprārthanā ca | asthikṣaye asthiśūlo dantanakhabhaṅgo raukṣyaṃ ca | majjakṣaye alpaśukratā parvabhedo sthitodaḥ śūnyatā | śukrakṣaye meḍhravṛṣaṇavedanāśaktir maithune pracārād vā prasekaḥ | praseke cālpaśukraraktadarśanaṃ | purīṣakṣaye hṛdayapārśvapīḍā saśabdasya ca vāyor ūrdhvagamanaṃ kukṣau sañcaraṇañ ca | mūtrakṣaye bastitodo lpamūtratā ca | atrāpi svayonivardhanadravyoprayogaḥ | svedakṣaye stabdharomakūpatā sparśavaiguṇyañ ca tatrābhyaṅga svedopayogaś ca || ārttavakṣaye yathocitakālādarśanam alpatā vā yonivedanā ca | tatra saṃśodhanam āgneyānāṃ ca dravyānām upayogaḥ | stakṣaye stanayor mlānatā stanydravyopayogaḥ | garbhakṣaye garbhāspandanam anunnatakukṣi ca | tatra prāptabastikālāyāḥ kṣīrabastiprayogo medhyānnaprayogaś ca || ata ūrdhvam atipravṛddhānān doṣadhātūṇāṃ lakṣaṇam upadekṣyāmaḥ | tatra vātavṛddhau kārśyakārṣṇyagātrasphuraṇatā uṣṇakāmatā nidrānāśo ’lpabalatvaṃ gāḍhavarccaskatā ca | pittavṛddhau pītāvabhāsatā santāpaḥ śītakāmitvam alpanidratā mūrcchā balahāniḥ pītaviṅmūtratvañ ca || śleṣmavṛddhau śauklyaṃ śaityaṃ sthairyaṃ gauravam agnisādas tandrā nidrā sandhyatiśliṣṭatā ca || raso tipravṛddho hṛdaye kledaṃ prasekañ cāpādayati || raktaṃ raktāṅgākṣitāṃ | māṃsaṃ sphiggaṇḍauṣṭhopasthorubāhujaṅghāsu vṛddhigurugātratāñ ca | medaḥ snigdhāṅgatām udarapārśvavṛddhiṅ kāsaśvāsau daurgandhyañ ca | asthi adhyasthīny adhidantāṃś ca | majjā sarvāṅgānetragauravaṃ | śukraṃ śukrāśmaryatiprādurbhāvam || purīṣam āṭopaḥ kukṣau śūlañ ca | mūtraṃ muhurmuhuḥ pravṛtti todañ ca | svedaḥ kaṇḍū daurgandhyañ ca || stanyaṃ stanayor atipīnatvam muhurmuhuḥ | pravṛttim atitodañ ca | ārttavam aṅgamardaṃ daurbalyañ ca | garbho jaṭharābhivṛddhiṅ karoti | teṣāṃ kṣapaṇam aviruddhaiḥ kriyāviśeṣaiḥ kurvīta || balakṣayam | ata ūrdhvam anuvyākhyāsyāmaḥ | rasādīnāṃ śukrāntānān dhātūnāṃ yat paraṃ tejas tat khalv ojas tad eva balam ity ucyate | śāstrasiddhāntāt tatra balena sthiropacitamāṃsatā sarvaceṣṭāsv apratīghātaḥ | svaravarṇṇaprasādo bāhyābhyantarāṇāñ ca karaṇānātmakāryapratipattir bhavati || || ojaḥ somātmakaṃ snigdhaṃ śītaṃ ślakṣṇa sthira saraṃ | viviktaṃ mṛdu mṛtsnañ ca prāṇāyatanam uttamam || dehaḥ sāvayavas tena vyāpto bhavati dehinām | abhighātāt kṣayāt kopād dhyānāc chokāc chramāt kṣudhaḥ | ojaḥ saṃkṣīyate dehe dhātugrahaṇaniḥsṛtam || tatra visraṃso vyāpat kṣaya iti liṅgāni bhavanti | sandhiviśleṣo gātrāṇāṃ sadanan doṣacyavanaṃ kriyāsannirodhaś ca visraṃse | stabdhatā gurugātratā śopho varṇṇabhedo glānis tandrā nidrā vyāpanne | māmsakṣayo mohaḥ pralāpo maraṇam iti ca kṣīṇe || tatra visraṃse vyāpanne ca kriyāviśeṣair aviruddhair balam adhyāyayen mūḍhasaṃjñam itarañ ca varjjayet | yasya dhātukṣayād vāyus saṃjñākarmma vināśayet prakṣīṇañ ca balaṃ yasya tau na śakyaś cikitsitum || rasanimittam eva sthaulyaṅ kārśyañ ca | tatra śleṣmalāhārasevino dhyaśanaśīlasyāvyāyāmino divāsvapnaratasya āma evānnaraso madhurataraś ca śarīram anukramamāṇo tisnehān medo janayati | medaso tipravṛddhatvād vāṭharyam āpādayati | tam atipaṭharaṃ kṣudraśvāsapipāsākṣutsvapnasvedadaurgandhyagrathagātrasādagadgadatvāni kṣipram evāviśanti | saukumāryān medasaḥ sarvakriyāsv asamarthatvam bhavati | kaphamedoniruddhamārgatvāc cālpavyavāyo bhavati | āvṛtamārgatvād eva ca śeṣā dhātavo nāpyāyante ’tyartham ato lpaprāṇo bhavati | pramehapiṭakājvarabhagandaravidradhivātavirūpaṇānām anyatamam prāpya maraṇam upayāti | sarva eva cāsya rogā balavanto bhavati | kasmād āvṛtamārgatvāt srotasām atas tasyotpattihetum parihared utpanne tu śilājatuguggulumūtratriphalāloharajorasāñjanamadhuyavamudgakoradūṣoddālakādīnāṃ virūkṣaṇacchedanīyānāṃ dravyānāṃ vidhivad upayogo vyāyāmalekhanabastyupayogaś ceti | tatra punar vātalāhārasevino tivyavāyavyāyāmādhyayanacintābhayaśokarātrijāgaraṇapipāsākṣutkṣayālpāśanaprabhṛtibhir upaśoṣito rasadhātuḥ śarīrati tasmād atikārśyam bhavati | so tikṛśaḥ kṣutpipāsāśītoṣṇavātavarṣābhārādāneṣv asahiṣṇur vātarogaprāyo lpaprāṇaḥ kriyāsu ca bhavati | kāsaśvāsaplīhodarāgnisādagulmaraktapittānām anyatamaṃ prāpya maraṇam upayāti | sarva eva cāsya rogā balavanto bhavaṃti | kasmād alpaprāṇatvād atas tasyotpattihetuṃ pariharet | utpanne tu payasyāśvagandhādividārīvidārigandhaśatāvarīnāgabalānām madhurāṇām anyāsāṃ cauṣadhīnām vidhivad upayogaḥ | kṣīradadhighṛtamānsaśāliṣaṣṭiyavagodhūmānāñ ca divāsvapnabrahmacaryāvyāyāmabṛṃhaṇabastyupayogaś ceti || | yaḥ punar ubhayasādhāraṇāny upasevate tasyānnarasaḥ śarīram anukramamāṇaḥ samān dhātūn upacinoti sadhātutvān madhyaśarīro bhavati | sarvakriyāsu ca samarthaḥ kṣutpipāsāśītoṣṇavātavarṣātapasaho balavāṃś ca bhavati saḥ | satatam anupālayitavya iti || bhavati cātra || dvāv apy etau vigarhitau sadā sthūlakṛśau narau | śreṣṭho madhyaśarīras tu kṛśaḥ sthūlāt tu pūjitaḥ | doṣaḥ prakupito dhātūṃ kṣapayatity ātmatejasā | iddhaḥ svatejasā vahnir ukhāgatam ivodakaṃ || vailakṣaṇyāc charīrāṇām asthāyitvāt tathaiva ca | doṣadhātumalānān tu parimāṇan na vidyate | eṣāṃ samatvaṃ yac cāpi bhiṣagbhir abhidhīyate | na tat svāsthyād ṛte śakyaṃ vaktum anyena hetunā | doṣādīnān tu samatām anumānena lakṣayet | prasannāmendriyaṃ jñātvā puruṣan tatra buddhimāṃ | kṣapayed bṛṃhayec cāpi doṣadhātumalāṃ bhiṣak | tāvad yāvad arogaḥ syād etat sāmyasya lakṣaṇaṃ | athāta āmapakvesaṣanīyamadhyāyaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || atha sauphasamutthānāgranthividradhyalaprabhṛtayaḥ | prāyeṇa vyādhayobhihitā | anekākṛtayaḥ | tairvilakṣaṇaḥ pṛthurgrathitaḥ samo visamo vā tvadmātsasthāyī saṅvmātaḥ śarīraikadeśosthitaḥ sopha ity ucyate || sa ṣaṭvidhau bhavati | vātapittakaphasoṇitasannipāgaṃtukanimittaḥ tatra vātas ca yathuraruṇaḥ kṛṣṇo vā paruṣo mṛduranavasthitāstodāyas cātra vedanāviseṣā bhavanti | pittas ca yathu pītaḥ sarakto vā śīghrānusārī mṛdudārhādayaś cātra vedanāviseṣā bhavanti | sleṣmaś ca yathuḥ pāṇḍuḥ śuklo vā kaṭhinaḥ śitaḥ snigdho mandānusārī kaṇvādayas cātra vedanāviśeṣā bhavanti | sannipātaś ca yathuḥ sarvadoṣaliṅgaviseṣopetaḥ pittavacchoṇitajotikṛtsaś cāpittaraktalakṣaṇaś cāgantulohitāvabhāsaś ca || sa yadā bāhyābhyantaraiḥ kriyāviseṣairnnasakṛte prabhemayituṃ kriyāviparyayādbahutvād vā doṣāṇāṃ pākāyābhimukho bhavati | tasyāmsya pacyamānasya pakvasya ca lakṣaṇamucyamānam upadhārayas ca | tatra mandosmatā tvansāvallīsthairyaryamalparujatāśpaśophatā cāmalakṣaṇamuddiṣṭaṃ || sūcibhir iva nisdyate iva ca pipīlikābhis chidyate bhidyate iva ca daṇḍena niḥpīḍyata iva ca pāṇinā ghaṭyata iva cāgulyā dahyate pacyata iva cāgnikṣārābhyāmūṣā coṣaparidāhāś ca bhavanti | vṛścikaviddha iva ca sthānāsanaśayaneṣu na śāntim upaiti | ādhmātabastirivātatasca śopho bhavati | tvagaivarṇṇyaṃ śophātivṛddhijvarodāhaḥ pipāsā bhaktāruciś ca pacyamānaliṅgaṃ | vedanopaśāntinirlauhitāālpaśophatā ca valīprādurbhāvaḥ | tvakparipoṭanan nimnadarśanamaṃgulyāvapīḍite bastāviva codakasañcaraṇapūyasya prapīḍayaty ekamattamante cāvapīḍite muhurmuhustādaḥ kaṇḍūraṇunnanatāvyādherupadravaśāntibhaktābhikāṃkṣā ca paripakvaliṅgaṃ | kaphajeṣu khalu rogeṣu gambhīrānugatatvād abhighātatvād abhighātajeṣu ca keśu cadasamastam pakvalakṣaṇaṃ dṛṣṭvā pakvam apakvam iti manyamāno bhiṣacmoham upaiti | tatra hi tvaksavarṇṇatā śītasophatālparujatāśmavac ca panatā na tatra mohamupaiyāt || bhavanti cātra | āmaṣvidahyamānasam yakpakvañ ca yo bhiṣak | jānīyāt sa bhaved vaidyaḥ śeṣāstaskaravṛttayaḥ || vātādṛte nāsti rujā na pākaḥ | pittādṛte nasti kaphā ca pūyaḥ | tasmasmāt samastāḥ paripākakāle | pacanti śophaṃ traya eva doṣāḥ || nartterujāvātaṣṛte ca pittam | pākaḥ kaphañ cātmavinā na pūyaḥ || tasmād vipākaparipākakāle prayānti śophās tribhir eva doṣaiḥ || kālāntanābhyuditaṃ tu pittaṃ kṛtvā vase vātakaphau prasahyaḥ | pacaty ataḥ śoṇitam eva pāko matopareṣām viduṣāṃ dvitīyaḥ || dravyāṇāṃ candanādīn āndagdhānāṃ svetatāṃ yathā | tadvat pittoṣmanā dagdhaṃ raktaṃ pūyam ihocyate || tatrāmacchede sirāśnāyuvyāpādanaṃ śoṇitātipravṛttiḥ | vedanāprādurbhāvo vadaraṇaman eko padravadarśanaṃ kvanavidradhirvā bhavati | sa yadā tu bhayamohābhyāṃ pakvam apakvam iti manyamānaḥ ciram upekṣate vyādhivaidyaḥ | sagambhīnugatodvāram alabhamānaḥ pūyaḥ svamāśayam avadāryotasaṅgaṃ kṛtvā nāḍīñjanayitvā bhavaty asādhyaḥ || bhavanti cātra | yas chinatyāmam ajñānād yaś ca pakvam upekṣate | śvapacāv iva sanyasyettāviniścitakāriṇau || prācchastrakarmaṇa ceṣṭaṃ bhojayed āturaṃ bhiṣak | pānapaṃ pāyayen madyaṃntīkṣṇaṃ yo vedanāsahaṃ || na mūrcchaty annasaṃyogān mattaśastraṃ na budhyate | tasmād avaśyabhoktavyaṃ rogeṣūkteṣu karmaṇi || prāṇo hy ābhyantare nṝṇāṃ bāhyaprāṇaguṇānvitaḥ | dhārayaty avirodhena dracchrāyaṃ pāñcabhautikam | yohyktaśchitolpo yadi vā mahāṃ syāt kriyāṃ vinā pākam upaiti śophaḥ || viśālamūlo viṣamam vidagdhaḥ sa kṛcchratā yātyavagāḍhadoṣaḥ | ālepaviśrāvaṇasaudhanais tu samyakyukair yadi nopaśāmyet || śīghraṃ vipasyat samam alpamūlaḥ | sa piṇḍitaścoparicālpadoṣaḥ || kakṣaṃ samāsādya yathā ca vahniḥ | bāṣpīritaḥ sandahati prasahyaḥ || tathaiva pūyo pi vinigmṛto hi mānsasirāśnāyu ca khādatīha | ādau vislāpanaṃ kuryā dvitīyam avasecanaṃ | tṛtīyam upanāhaṃ tu caturthīṃ pāṭhanakriyāṃ || pañcama sodhanaṃ svidyāt | ṣaṣṭhaṃ ropaṇamiṣyate | ete kramākramāvraṇasyoktāḥ saptamaṃ vaikṛtāpaham iti ||
athāta ātmaṣavraṇabandhavidhim adhyāyaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || ālepana ādya upakrama eṣa sarvaśophānāṃ sāmānyataḥ pradhānatamac ca || taṃ prati pratirogaṃ vakṣyāmaḥ | tatra pratilomamāliṣpennānulomaṃ || pratilome hi samyagauṣadhamavatiṣṭhate | praviśati ca romakūpais tasya pramāṇaṃ māhiṣārdracarmotsedham upadiśanti || na ca śuṣkam upekṣitavyam anyatra pīḍayitavyāt | śuṣkamaṣarthaka rukarañ ca bhavati || ālepapradehayor antaram ālepaḥ śītas taturavisoṣī viśoṣī ca | pradehas tūṣṇaḥ śīto vahalobahvaviśoṣī ca | tatra pittaraktaprasādakṛdālepaḥ | sodhano ropaṇaḥ śophavedanāpagamaś ca tasyopayogaḥ | kṣatākṣatāṣu yas tu kṣateṣūpayujyate sa bhūyaḥ kalka iti saṃjñā labhate | nirudhyālepanasaṃjñāntenāsrāvasannirodho mṛdupūtimāṃsāpakarṣaṇam anantardoṣatāśuvraṇaśuddhiś ca bhavati | na cālepanaśaṃtrau prayuñjīta śaityāṃ śleṣmaṇaḥ | ūrdhvavivṛtaromakūpatvād ūṣmānireti || avidagdheṣu śopheṣu hitam ālepanaṃ bhavet | yathāś ca dośamanandāhakaṇḍūrujāpaham || marmadeśeṣu ye rogā guhyeṣv api sadā nṛṇāṃ | saṃśodhanāya teṣāṃ tu kuryād ālepanaṃ bhiṣak || ata ūrdhvaṃ vraṇabandhanadravyāny upadekṣyāmaḥ || kṣaumakārpāsikāvikadukūlakauseyapattaurṇṇānapaṭṭacarmāntarvalkalalatādidalarajjuvālatūlasantānikālohādīnyeṣaṃ vyādhikālaṃ cāvekṣyopayogaḥ | pramāṇataśceṣām ādeśaḥ || kośadāmascastikātuvellitaṃ śākhāsugrīvāmeḍhramūtolīmaṇḍalasthaviyamalakakhaṭcīnavibandhavitānagoṣphaṇāḥ pañcāṅ ceti | caturdaśa bandhaviśeṣāḥ | teṣāṃ nāmabhir evākṛtayaḥ prāyeṇa vyākhyātāḥ || tatra kośaṃ jaṃghāṅguliparvasu vidadhyāt | dāmamasandhordheṅge sandhikūrcakastanāntarakarṇṇeṣu svastikam anuvelitaṃ śākhāsu grīvāmeḍhrāyor mūtolīvṛtteṅge maṇḍalaṃ aṣṭāṅgulimeḍhrāgreṣu susthavikā | yamalavraṇābhyāṃ yamalakā | havagaṇḍaśaṅkheṣu khaṭvām apāṅgayoś cīnaṃ | pṛṣṭhodarorassuvibandhamūdhnivitānaṃ cipukanāsauṣṭhāṃsabastiṣu śoṣphaṇajatruṇi pañcāṅgīm iti | yo vā yasmin pradeseṣaviniviṣṭo bhavati | tat tasminnidadhyāt || yantraṇamūrdhamadhastiryak ca bhavati | tatra ghanāṅkavalikān datvā vāmaparikṣepamṛjum anāviddham asaṃkucitam mṛdupaṭṭaṃ niveśya badhnīyāt | na ca vraṇasyopari kuryāt || granthim ābādhaṃ karoti | athāsya na ca vikeśikauṣadhetikṣe viṣame vā kurvīta | kasmād atisnehāt kledayati | raukṣyacchiṃnatti dunyascavraṇavarmāvagharṣaṇaṅkaroti | yuktasnehatvād āśu rohati | tatra vraṇāyatanaviseṣād bandhastrividho bhavati | gāḍhassamaḥ śithila iti || tatra sphikkukṣicaṅkṣaṇaśirassu gāḍhaḥ | śākhāvadanakarṇṇakaṇṭhameḍhrasuṣkopārsvodaroraḥsusamaḥ | akṣṇoḥ sandhisu ca śithilaḥ || tatra paittikaṃ gāḍhasthāne samaṃ badhnīyāt || samasthāne śithilaṃ || śithilasthānenaiva | śoṇitaduṣṭañ ca | śleṣmikaṃ śithilasthāne samaṃ || samasthāne gāḍhaṃ | gāḍhasthāne gāḍhataraṃ || vātaduṣṭañ ca | tatra paittikadvirahno badhnīyāt | raktopadrutamapyevaṃ | sleṣmikaṃ hemante tṛtīyehani | vātopadrutamapyevaṃ | evamūhya bandhaṃ viparyayañ ca kurvītaḥ || samaśithilasthāneṣu gāḍhabandhe vikeśikauṣadhanairarthakyaiśophavedanāprādurbhāvaś ca gāḍhasamasthāneṣu śithilavardhevikeśikauṣadhapatanaṃ paṭṭasañcārādvraṇavaktragharṣaṇañ ca | aviparītabandhavedanāśāntir asṛk | prasādo mārdavañ ca || avadhyamāne śītavātātaparajovarṣadaṃśamaśakamakṣikāprabhṛtibhir atighātaviśeṣair hanyate vraṇaḥ | vividhavedanopadrutas ca duṣṭatām upaiti | ālepanādīni cāsya viśoṣam upayānti | cūrṇṇitam mathitaṃ bhagnavisliṣṭam atipātitaṃ | asthiśnāyucchirācchinnam āśu bandhena rohati | sukhañ ca vraṇitaḥ śete sukhaṃ gacchati tiṣṭhati | sukhasayyāsanasthasya kṣipraṃ saṃrohati vraṇaḥ || avandhyāpittaraktākhyābhighātanimittā yadā todadāhavedanābhibhṛtāḥ | kṣārāgnidagdhāḥ pākātprakuthitaprasīrṇṇamāṃsāś ca bhavanti || bhavanti cātra || kuṣṭinām agnidagdhānāṃ piṭakāmadhumehināṃ | karṇṇikāś conduruviṣair viṣajaṣṭavraṇāś ca ye || mānsāpākena badhyante gudapāke ca dāruṇe | svabuddhyā cāpi vibhajot kṛtyākṛtyeṣu buddhimān || doṣañ cahañ ca vijñāya vraṇāsuvraṇakovidaḥ | ṛtuñ ca parisaṃkhyāya tato bandhāniveśayet ||
athāto vraṇitopāsanīyam adhyāyaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || atha vraṇitasya prathamevāgāram anvicchet | prasastavāśtusuviniṣṭaṃśucyavārtapañ ca | apraśastavāstuni gṛhe sambādhe śucinyātape cātivāte ca rogāḥ syuś ciraśārīramānasāḥ | tasmiṃcchayanamasambādhanvātīrṇṇaṃ manojñaṃ prākchīṃrṣasasastraṃ kurvīta | sukhaceṣṭāpracāraḥ syāt svāstīrṇṇe śayane vraṇī prācyādiśi sthitā devās tatpūjanārthaṃ tataḥ śiras tasmin suhṛdbhir anukūlaiḥ priyamvadair upāsyamāno yatheṣṭamāśīteḍi || bhavanti cātra || suhṛdo vikṣipaṃty āsuḥ kathābhirvraṇavedanāḥ āśvāsayanto bahuṣaḥ svanukūlāpriyamvadāḥ || na ca nidrāvasagaḥ syād utthārāsaṃvesanaparimārjjanādiṣu cātmaceṣṭāsvapramatto vraṇaṃ rakṣet || bhavanti cātra || sthānāśanañ cakramanandivāsvapnan tathaiva ca | vraṇito na niseveta śaktimān api mānavaḥ || gamyānāñ ca strīṇā sandarśanasambhāṣaṇasaṃsparśanāni dūrata eva pariharet || bhavati cātra || strīṇaṃ sandarśanācchukraṃ kadāciccalitaṃ śravet | grāmyadharmakṛtādoṣāṃsosaṃsargepyavāpnuyāt || navadhānyamāṣatilakaṣāyakulatthaniṣpāvaharitaśākāvlalavaṇaguḍapiṣṭavikṛtaśuṣkaśākājāvimāṃsasītodakadadhidugdhatakraprabhṛtīni pariharet || bhavati cātra || takrānto navadhānyādiryo yavarga udāhṛtaḥ | doṣasañjanano hyeṣa vijñeya pūyavarddhanaḥ || madyapaś ca mairiyāriṣṭāśavasadhurtharāvihārāṃ pariharet || madyamavlañ ca śmakṣañ ca tīkṣṇamuṣṇañ ca vīryataḥ | āśukāri ca tattaṃ kṣipra vyāpādayed vraṇam || vātātaparajodhūmātibhojanāniṣṭaśravaṇadarśanāmapaśokaviṣamaśayanāsanarātrijāgaraṇātmakṣikādiṣṭhāvādhaṃ pariharet | vraṇitasyopataptasya kāraṇair evam ādibhiḥ | kṣīṇaśoṇitamānsasya bhuktaṃ saṃmyagnagyati || ajīrṇṇāt pavanādīnāṃ vibhramo balavānbhavet | tataḥ śopharujāśrāvadāhapānavāpnuyāt || sadācanīcanakharoṣṇā śucinā śucivāsasā śāntimaṅgaladevatābrāhmaṇagurupareṇa bhavitavyam || tat kasya hetoḥ | hinsāvihārāṇi tu rakṣāṃsi paśupatikuverakumārānucarāṇi māṃsaśoṇitapriyatvāt kṣatajanimittaṃ vraṇitam upasarpanti satkārārthañ jighāṃsūni vā kadācid bhavanti || teṣāṃ satkārakāmānāṃ prayatetāntarātmanā || dhūpamālyopahārāṃś ca bhakṣāṃ caivopahārayet || te tu santarpitā ātmavantan na hi syu tasmāt satatam atandrita janaparivṛto nityadīpodakaśastrasragdāmānaṅkṛtaveśmani sāṃpanmaṅgalamanonukūlāḥ kathāḥ śṛṇvannāsīt | sampadādbhālayuktābhiḥ prītamānasaḥ | āṣāṃvāvyādhimokṣāya kṣipraṃ sukhamavāpnuyāt || ṛtsktāmayajubhir mantrair aparaiś cāśīrvādair upādhyāyabhiṣaś ca sandhyayo rakṣāṃ kuryuḥ || sarṣapāriṣṭapatrābhyāṃ sarpiṣā lavanena ca | dvirahna kārayed dhūpaṃ saptarātram atandritaḥ || chatrāticchatralāṅgulīñ jaṭilā brahmacāriṇīṃ | lakṣmīguhāmatiguhāvacāmativiṣān tathā || śatavīryā sahasravīryā siddhārthāś cāpi dhārayet | anena vidhinā yuktāmārād eva niśācarāḥ | vanaṅkeśāriṇākrānta varjayanti mṛgā iva | bālalakavārttākīpaṭolaiḥ kāravellakaiḥ || sadāḍimais sāmalakair ghṛtapṛṣṭaiḥ sasendhavaiḥ || anyair eva guṇaiś cāpi śuṅgahīnaṃ rasena vā | divā na nidrāvasago nivātagṛhagocaraḥ || vraṇī vaidyavase tiṣṭhec chīghraṃ vraṇamapohati | tau ca ruk ca divāsvāpāt tāś ca mṛtyuś ca maithunāt || evaṃvṛttasamācāro vraṇī saṃpadyate sukhī | āyuś ca dīrgham āpnoti dhanvantarivaco yathā ||||
athāto hitīhitīyam adhyāyaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || yad vāyoḥ pathyaṃ tat pittasyāpathyam iti anena hetunā na kiñcid dravyam ekāntena hitam ahitam vāstīti kecid ācārya bruvate || taṃ tu na samyak | iha khalu dravyāṇi svabhāvataḥ | saṃyogataś ca ekāntahitāni ekāntāhitāni hitāhitāni ca bhavanti | tatra ekāntahitāni jātisātmyatvāt | salilaghṛtadugdhodanaprabhṛtīni | ekāntāhitāni tu dahanapacanamāraṇādiṣu pravṛttānyagnikṣāraviṣādīni saṃyogatasmṛparāṇi viṣatulyāni bhavanti | hitāhitāni tu yadvāyoḥ pathyan tatpittasyāpathyam | ity etad virna sarvavraṇinām ayam āhārthaivarga upadiśyate | raktaśāliṣaṣṭhikāṅgakamukundakapāṇḍukakalamanīvārakoddravoddālakasyāmākayavāḥ | eṇahariṇakuraṅgamṛgamātṛkāśca daṃṣṭrīkrakaralāvatittirikapiñjalavarttīkavarttakāḥ | mudgavanamudgamaśūramakuṣṭahareṇvāḍhakīśatīnāḥ | cillīvāstūkasuniṣaṇṇakajīvantītaṇḍulīyakamaṇḍūkaparṇṇiḥ | gavyaṃ ghṛtaṃ saindhavadāḍimāmalakam ity eṣa vargāḥ | sarvavraṇibhyaḥ sāmānyataḥ pathyatamāḥ || tathā brahmacaryanivātaśaraṇoṣṇodadivāsvapnāvyāyāmādhūmasevā ca ekāntaḥ pathyatamāni | ahitāni prāg upadiṣṭāni | hitāhitāni tu yad vāyoḥ pathyan tat pittasyāpathyaṃm iti || saṃyogatas tv aparāṇi viṣatulyāni bhavanti | vallīphalakavaka | karīra | āmlaphala | lavaṇa | kulattha | piṇyāka | taila | śuṣkaśāka | madyajāmba | jaṅgala | cilicimimatsya | godhāvarāhānacaikadhyam aśnīyāt | payasā prātprūyasonte vā payasaḥ || dravyaṃ necchanti bhiṣaja icchanti svastharakṣaṇe || kapotāṃś ca sarṣapatailasiddhāṃś ca nāśnīyāt | kapiñjalamaralāvatittirigodhāś cairaṇḍakāṣṭhasiddhā eraṇḍatailena nādyāt | madhughṛte samadhṛte madhucāntarikṣodapānaṃ | kānsabhājane daśarātraparyuṣitaṃ sarpiḥ | madhunomlena vā dadhimadyañ ca | pittena cāmamānsāni surakṛsarāyāpāyasāṃś ca naikedhyam aśnīyāt | sauvīreṇa saha tila saṃskulī | takreṇa madhughṛtadhānāpṛṣatamānsāniśodhāmmadhunā || kṣaudrāsavenamatsyāṃ | pṛṣatamānsamvāmaireyamādhvīkābhyāṃ | matsyātupotakayāsahaikṣuvikṛtīś ca sandhāḥ | guḍakākaśācyāmadhunā mūlakāni ca | naikadhyamadhunāvaśahaṃ || dadhnā kurkuḍhaṃ | madyena valākaṃ || taratamayogayuktāṃś ca bhāvān atislakṣam atiśnigdham atyuṣṇam atiśītam evamādīn vivarjayet || na madhunā uṣṇaṃ | noṣṇo noṣnārtto | na madhunā tilakankenaupetakāṃ || na pippalīmatsyavaśasayāpriyaṃśnuliptena pāyasam aśnīyāt || bhavanti cātra | viruddhānyevamādīni vīryato yāni kānicit | tānyekāntāhitāny eva śeṣaṃ vidyād dhitāhitaṃ || vyādhim indriyadaurbalyaṃ maraṇam vā niyacchati | viruddharasavīryāṇi bhuñjāno nātmabhavānnaraḥ || yatkiṃciddoṣamutkleśyaṃ bhuktaṅ kāyānna nirharet | rasādiṣu rasādiṣu rasārthatvāt tadvikārāya kalpate || viruddhāsanajān rogāṃ pratihanti virecanaṃ | vamanaṃ śamanaś cāpi pūrvaṃ vāhitasevanam || sātymyatolpatayā vāpi dīptāgne taruṇasya ca | snigdhāvyāyāmavalināṃ viruddhaṃ vitathaṃ bhaved iti || kṣāramagnijalāyuś ca tathā sotavarṇṇanaṃ | doṣadhātumalaś caiva karṇṇatāḍanam eva ca || āsapankeṣaṇīyañ ca ālepanavidhin tathā | ṇitopāsanīyañ ca viruddhānn eva viṅśatiḥ || || dvitīyo daśaḥ || ||
athāto vraṇapraśnam adhyāyam vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || vātapittaśleṣmāṇa eva dehe sambhavahetavo bhavanti | tair eva vyāpannair adhomadhyordhvasanniviṣṭaiḥ śarīram ida dhāryate | agāram iva sthūṇābhir ataś ca tristhūṇam ity āhur ity eke | ta eva ca vyāpannāḥ pralayahetavo bhavanti tad ebhiḥ śoṇitacaturtthaiḥ sambhavasthitipralayeṣv apy avirahitaṃ śarīram bhavati || bhava || bhavati cātra || nartte dehaḥ kaphād asti na ca pittān na mārutāt | śoṇitād api vā nityaṃ deham etais tu dhāryate || tatra vā gatigandhopādāne dhātuḥ | tapa santāpe śliṣa āliṅgane | eṣāṃ kṛtravihitaiḥ pratyayair vātapittaśleṣmāna iti rūpāṇi bhavantinti | teṣāṃ sthānānyi ata ūrddhvam vakṣyāmaḥ | tatra samāsena vāyu śroṇīgudasaṃśrayaḥ || pakvāmāsayamadhyasthaṃ pittasya | āmāśayaḥ śleṣmaṇaḥ || ataḥ paraṃ pañcadhā vibhajyante | tatra vātasya vātavyādhike vakṣyāmaḥ | pittasya yakṛtplīhānau hṛdayaṃ dṛṣṭis tvag iti | pūrvoktañ ca śleṣmaṇas tūrasaḥ kaṇṭhaḥ siraḥ sandhaya iti | etāni khalu doṣasthānāny avyāpannānām bhavanti | pūrvvoktañ ca || visargādānavikṣepaiḥ somasūryādanilā yathā | dhārayanti jagaddehaṅ kaphapittānilās tathā || tatra jijñāsyate | kim pittavyatirekeṇānyo gnir utāho pittam evāgnir iti | atrocyate || na khalu pittavyatirekeṇānyo 'gnir upalabhyate | āgneyatvāt pitte dahanapacanādiṣu pravarttamāne gnivad upacāraḥ kriyante ragnir iti | kṣīṇe vāgniguṇe tatsamānadravyopayogād atipravṛddhe śītakriyopayogād āgamāc ca paśyāmo na khalu pittavyatirekeṇānyo gnir iti | tatra dṛṣṭahetuke viśeṣeṇa pakvāmāśayamadhyasthañ caturvvidham apy annam pacati vivecayati ca doṣarasamūtrapurīṣāṇi | tatrastham eva cātmaśaktyā śeṣāṇām pittasthānānā śarīrasya cāgnikarmmaṇānugrahaṃ karoti | tasmin pitte pācako gnir iti saṃjñā || yakṛtplīhnoḥ pittaṃ tasmin rañjako gnisaṃjñā sa rasyasya rāgakṛd uktaḥ | yat tu hṛdistham pittaṃ śaktisādhako gnir iti saṃjñā śobhiprārthitamanorathasādhyakṛd uktaḥ | yat tu dṛṣṭyām pittaṃ tasminn ālocako gnir iti sa rūpagrahaṇe dhikṛtaḥ yat tu tvaci pittaṃ tasya bhrājako gnir iti saṃjñā so 'bhyaṅgapariṣekāvagāhālepanādīnā kriyādravyāṇāṃ pācayitā || bha || bhavati cātra || pittaṃ tīkṣṇaṃ dravaṃ pūti nīlam pīttaṃ tathaiva ca | uṣṇaṃ kaṭurasaṃ caiva vidagdha tv amblam iṣyate || ata ūrdhvaṃ śleṣmasthānāny anuvyākhyāsyāmaḥ || tatrāmāśayaḥ pittāśayasyopari tatpratyanīkatvād ūrdhvagatitvāt tejasaś candrādityasya sa caturvidhasyāhārasyādhāraḥ sa ca tatraudakair guṇaiḥ | praklinno bhinnasaṃghātaḥ sukhajaro bhavati || bha || bhavati cātra || mādhuryāt picchilatvāc ca praklinnatvāt tathaiva ca | āmāśaye sambhavati śleṣmā madhuraśītalaḥ || sa tatra sthitaḥ svaśaktyā śeṣāṇā śleṣmasthānānā śarīrasya udakakarmonugrahaṅ karoti | urasthas tu trikasandhāraṇam ātmavīryeṇānnarasasahitena hṛdayāvalambanam varaṇañ ca karoti || kaṇṭhasthas tu jihvendriyasya saumyatvāt samyagrasajñāne nivarttate | śirasthas tu snehasantarpaṇādhikṛtatvād indriyāṇām ātmavīryyeṇānugrahaṅ karoti || sandhisthas tu sandhiśleṣāt sarvvasandhyanugrahaṅ karoti || bha || śleṣmā śveto guru snigdhaḥ picchila śīta eva ca | madhuraś cāvidagdhaḥ syād vidagdho lavaṇa smṛtaḥ || śoṇitaṃ sthānaṃ prāgabhihitaṃ | anuṣṇaśītaṃ madhuraṃ snigdhaṃ raktañ ca varṇataḥ | śoṇitaṃ guru visraṃ syād vidāhaś cāsya pittavat || etāni khalu doṣasthānāny atra sañcīyante doṣāḥ prāk sañcayahetur uktaḥ || sañcitānāṃ khalu doṣāṇāṃ taccaapūrṇṇakoṣṭhatā pītāvabhāsatā mandoṣmatā cāṅgānāṃ gauravam ālasyañ ceti¦ liṅgāni bhavanti | tatra prathamakriyākālaḥ || ata ūrdhvaṃ prakopakāraṇāni vakṣyāmaḥ | tatra baladvigrahātivyavāyavyāyāmapratapanapradhāvanābhighātalaṅghanaplavanapratarpanajāgaraṇahayarathagajaprayāṇātikaṭukakaṣāyatiktalaghurūkṣaśītavīryaśuṣkasākavallūrakoradūṣasyāmākanīvāramudgamasūrāḍhakīhareṇuniṣpāvānasanādhyāsanavātamūtrapurīṣaśukrakṣavathūdgāracchardibāṣpavegavighātādibhiḥ viśeṣair vāyuḥ prakopam āpadyate || sa śītābhraprayāteṣu gharmārtte ca viśeṣataḥ | pratyūṣasy āparāhṇe ca jīrṇṇānte ca prakupyati || krodhaśokabhayāyāsopavāsavidagdhamaithunopagamanakaṭvamblalavaṇoṣṇatīkṣṇarūṣṇalaghuvidāhitilatailapiṇyākakulatthasarṣapātasīharitaśākavarāhamatsyājāvikamāmsadadhimastutakrasauvīrakasurāmvlaphalakaṭvaraprabhṛtibhir vviśeṣaiḥ pittam prakopam āpadyate || taduṣṇe voṣṇakāle ca ghanānte ca viṣeśataḥ | madhyāhne cārddharātre ca jīryyaty anne ca kupyati || divā svapnavyāyāmālasyamadhurāmvlalavaṇasnigdhaśītgurupicchilābhiṣyandahāyanakayavanaiṣadhotkaṭamāṣagodhūmatilapiṣṭavikṛtadugdhadadhikṛsarapāyasekṣuvikārānūpodakamāmsavasābisamṛṇālakaserukaśṛṅgaṭakamadhuravallīphalasamaśanādhyasanaprabhṛtibhir vviśeṣaiḥ śleṣmā prakopam āpadyate || sa sīte śītakāle ca vasante ca viśeṣataḥ | pūrvāhṇe ca pradoṣe ca bhuktamātre prakupyati || pittaprakopanair eva cābhīkṣṇan dravasnigdhagurubhiś cāhārair divāsvapnakrodhānalātapaśramābhighātājīrṇṇaviruddhādhyasanaprabhṛtibhir viśeṣair raktaṃ prakopam āpadyate | yasmād rakto vinā doṣair na kadācit prakupyati | tasmāt tasya yathādoṣaṃ kālam vidyīt prakopanaiḥ || teṣān tu prakopāt koṣṭhatodasañcarāṇāmvlīkādāhapipāsānnadveṣahṛdayotkledā bhavanti | tatra dvitīyaḥ kriyākālaḥ || ata ūrdhvam prasaraṃ vakṣyāmaḥ || teṣām ebhir ataṅkaviśeṣaiḥ prakupitānām piṣṭakiṇvodakasamavāya ivābhyudgatānā prasaro bhavati | teṣā vāyur gatimatvāt prasaraṇāhetuḥ | saty apy ācaitanye sa hi rajobhūyiṣṭhaḥ | rajaś ca pravarttakam bhāvānāṃ yathā mahān udakasañcayād atipravṛddhatvāt | setum avadāryāparair udakair vvyāmiśra sarvvataḥ pradhāvaty evan doṣāḥ | ekaikaśo dvandvaśaḥ samastāḥ śoṇitasahitā vā || tatra vāta pittaṃ śleṣmā śoṇitaṃ vātapitte vātaśleṣmaṇau pittaśleṣmāṇau | vātaśoṇite | pittaśoṇite | śleṣmaśoṇite | vātapittaśoṇitāni | vātaśleṣmaśoṇitāni | pittaśleṣmaśoṇitāni | vātapittakaphāḥ | vātapittakaphaśoṇitānīti | evam pañcadaśadhā prasaraṃ bhavati | bha || kṛtsne rdhe vayave cāpi dehasya kupito bhṛśam | doṣo vikārām bhajate megho vṛṣṭir ivāmbare || nātyarthaṅ kupitaś cāpi līno mārggeṣb tiṣṭhati | niḥpratyanīkāḥ kālena hetum āsādya kupyati || tatra vāyo pittasthānagatasya pittavat kriyā | pittasya ca kaphasthānagatasya kaphavat | kaphasya ca vātasthānagatasya vātavat kriyāvibhāgaḥ | evam prakṣubhitānām prasaratām vimārgagamanam āṭopo dhūmāyanam arocakaś charddir iti liṅgāni bhavanti | tatra tṛtīyaḥ kriyākālaḥ || ata ūrddhva sthānasaṃśrayam vakṣyāmaḥ | evaṃ khalu prasṛtās tās tāñ ccharīrapradeśān āgamya tāṃs tāṃ vyādhīṃ janayanti | tam prati pratirogam vakṣyāmaḥ | yadā eva sanniveśaṃ kurvvanti te gulmavṛddhyudarāgnisaṅgānāhavisūcikātīsāraprabhṛtīñ janayaṃti || bastigatāḥ pramehāṣmarī āmūtrāghātamūtradoṣaprabhṛtīn || gudagatās tu bhagandarārśaḥprabhṛtīn || meḍhragatās tu parivarttikopadaṃśaśūkadoṣaprabhṛtīn || vṛṣaṇagatās tu vṛṣaṇavṛddhīn || ūrddhvajatrugatā ūrddhvagāgalagaṇḍāpacīprabhṛtīn || tvakmānsaśoṇitagatāḥ kṣudrarogāṃ kuṣṭhādīn visarpāś ca || mānsagatāḥ granthiapacyarbudagalagaṇḍālajīprabhṛtīn || asthigatā vidradhyanuśayīprabhṛta|n| pādagatāḥ ślīpadavātaśoṇitaprabhṛtīn || sarvvagatā jvaraśukradoṣasarvāṃgarogaprabhṛtīn || evam anyeṣv api sthāneṣu rogāṇā doṣaāsannive jānīyāt || teṣām evam abhisanniviṣṭānām pūrvvarūpaprādurbbhāvo bhavati || tatra caturthaḥ kriyākālaḥ || ata ūrdhvam vyādhidarśanam vakṣyāmaḥ || śophābudagranthividradhivisarppādīnāṃ pravyaktalakṣaṇatā jvarātīsāraprabhṛtīnāñ ca | tatra pañcamaḥ kriyākālaḥ || ata ūrddhvam asyāvadīrṇṇasya vraṇabhāvam āpannasya ṣaṣṭhaḥ kriyākālaḥ || jvarātīsāraprabhṛtīnāñ ca dīrghakālānubaddhaḥ tatrāpratikriyamāṇo 'sādhyatām upaiti || bha || sañcayañ ca prakopañ ca prasaraṃ sthānasaṃśrayaṃ | vyaktim bhedañ ca yo vetti doṣāṇāṃ sa bhū ave bhiṣak || sañcaye prahṛtā doṣā labhante nottarā gatī | teṣv uttarāsu gatiṣu bhavanti balavattarā || sarvvair bhāvais tribhir vāpi dvābhyām ekena vā punaḥ | saṃsarge kupita kruddhaṃ doṣāṃ doṣo nudhāvati || saṃsargge yo garīyāṃ syād upakramya sa vai bhavet | toḍadoṣāvirodhena sannipāte tathaiva ca || vraṇe tu yasmād rūḍho pi vraṇavastu na naśyati | ādehadhāraṇāj jantor vraṇa tasmān nirucyata iti || 21 ||
athāto vraṇāsrāvavijñānīyaṃ vyākhyāsyamaḥ || tvaṅmānsaśirāsnāyvasthisandhikauṣṭhamarmāṇy aṣṭau vraṇavastūni bhavanti | atra sarvavraṇasannivesaḥ | tatrādyaikavastusanniveśī tvagbhedī vraṇaḥ pacaraḥ | seṣāsāsrārvavijñeyāḥ | ya evam uttiṣṭhavadīryante ca āyataś caturasro vṛttatripuṭaka iti vraṇākṛtisamāsaḥ || viśeṣatastu vikṛtākṛtayo durupakramā bhavanti || sarva eva vraṇāḥ kṣipraṃ saṃrohatyātmavatāsubhiṣasbhiś copakrāntāḥ | anātmavatāmajñaiś copakrāntāḥ | praduṣyanti pravṛddhatvād doṣāṇāṃ | tatrānisamvṛto vivṛtaḥ kaṭhinotimātramatimṛdurutsannovasannaḥ śītotyuṣṇaḥ kṛṣṇaraktapītaśuklādivarṇṇeṣu ty arthavarṇṇaḥ pūtimānsaśirāśnāyupratipūrṇṇaḥ pratipūyāśrāvī unmāgyutsagyamanojñadarśanagandho tyarthavedanāvān dāhapākaśagakaṇḍūśophapiṭakopadrutatyarthamṣṇaśoṇitāśrāvī dīrghakālānundhī ceti duṣṭavraṇaliṅgāni || doṣocchrāyam avekṣya yathāsvaṃ prakurvīta || atha sarvāśrāvam vakṣyāmaḥ || tatrāghṛṣṭāsucchinnāsu vā tvaksu tvaksphuṭite bhinneva dāriteṣu vā salilaprakāśo bhavaty āśrāvaḥ kiñcid visraḥ pītāvabhāsaś ca | mānsagate sarpiḥ prakāśasāndraśvetapicchilaś ca sirāgatas tu sadyasthinnāsusirāsu raktātipravṛttiḥ | pakvāsu ca toyanāḍībhir ivāgamannapūyasya āsrāvas cātra tattra vicchinnaḥ | saphenovṛsāpratimaḥ saraktas ca | snāyutasnigdho ghanaḥ siṅghānakapratimaḥ saraktas ca | asthigatas tu asthiny abhihate sphuḍhite bhinnevadārite vā doṣabhakṣitatvācchuktidhautam ivābhāti asthinissāras ca bhavati | āsrāvas cātra tanivicchinnāmajjamiśraḥ sarudhiraśnigdhas ca | sandhigatas tu pīḍyamāno na pravarttate | tathākuñcanaprasāraṇonāmanavinamanocchāsanapradhāvanaiḥ ca sravati | āsrāvas cātra tanuvicchinnaḥ picchilaicalassarudhironmathitas ca bhavati | koṣṭhagatas tu sūtrapurīṣapūyarudhirodakāni sravati | mammagatas tu nocyate | tvagādiṣvevāvaruddhatvāt || atha sarvavraṇavedanānvakṣyāmaḥ || todanabhedanacchedantāḍanāvamacchanāyāmanavikṣepaṇacumacumāyananirdarśanāvabhañjasphoṭanavidāraṇotpāṭanakanpanavividhaśūlaviśleṣaṇavikiraṇapūraṇastambhanasvapanākuñcanātkusikāssambhavanti| vividhāvāyatra muhumuhur yatra vedanā āgacchanti | tasvātikam iti kindyāt || ūṣācoṣaparidāhadhūmāyanāni yantrāgārāvakīrṇṇam iva vedanā sarujaṃtīkṣṇasamyātipacyute | yatra coṣmābhivṛddhir bhavati kṣate kṣārāvasiktavac ca yatra vedanāviśeṣāḥ ghātātapaittikim iti vindyāt || pittavad raktasamucchaṃjānīyāt || viseṣoskutodoraktasrāvas ca bhavati | kaṇḍūgurutvaṃ suptatā svedolpavedanaṃ stambhaḥ śaityañ ca yatra taṃ śleṣmikamiti vidyāt || yatra sarvavedanāsamutpattis taṃ sānnipātikam iti vidyāt || ata ūrddhvasarvavarṇṇān vakṣyāmaḥ || bhasmakapotāsthivarṇṇaḥ paruṣoruṇavarṇṇaḥ kṛṣṇa iti mārutajasya nīlasyāvoharitaḥ pītaḥ kṛṣṇo raktapiṅgala iti | pittaraktasamutthayoḥ | svetasnigdhaḥ pāṇḍur iti śleṣmajasya || sarvavarṇṇopetaḥ sānnipātikaḥ || bhavati cātra || na kevalaṃ vraṇeṣūkto vedanāvarṇṇasaṅgrahaḥ | sarvaśophavikāreṣu vraṇavallakṣaye bhiṣag iti || ||
athātaḥ kṛtyākṛtyavidhim adhyāyaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || tatra vayasthānāṃ dṛḍhānāṃ prāṇavatāṃ satvavatām ātmavatāñ ca sutsyāvraṇā bhavanti | ekaikasmin vā puruṣe yatraitad guṇapañcakam bhavati | tasya khalu sādhanīyatamāḥ | tatra vayasthānāṃ pratyagradhātutvād āśu saṃroho bhavati | dṛḍhānāṃ sthirabahumānsatvāc chastram avacāryamāṇaṃ śirāsnāyvādīn viseṣān na prāpnoti | prāṇavatāṃ vedanāvighātāhārayantraṇābhir na glānir bhavati | satvavatāṃ dāruṇair api kriyāviseṣair na vyathā bhavati | ātmavatām punar mitāhāravihārādibhir upadesair nānyathāmatiḥ pratipravarttate | sarvaṃ caiṣāṃ sādhur bhavati | tasmāt sukhasādhanīyatamāḥ | ta eva viparītaguṇāḥ vṛddhakṛśālpaprāṇabhīruṣvatmavatsu ca draṣṭavyāḥ || sphikpāyuprajananalalāṭagaṇḍoṣṭhaphalakośodarajatrumukhābhyantarasaṃsthāḥ sukharopaṇīyā vraṇāḥ | akṣidantanāsāvyāṅgasrotranābhijaṭharasevanīnitambapāsvakukṣistanakakṣasandhibhāgagatāḥ | saphenapūyānilaraktavāhinontaḥsalyāduḥcikitsyāḥ | romāntopanakhamarmajaṃghāsthisaṃsritās ca bhagantaram api cāntarmukhaṃ sevanīkadyupasthaṃ saṃsritam iti || bhavati cātra || kuṣṭināṃ vipaduṣṭānāṃ soṣiṇāṃ madhumehināṃ | vraṇāḥ kṛcchreṇa siddhyanti yeṣāṃ cāpi vraṇe vraṇāḥ || avapāṭikāniruddhaprakasasaṃniruddhagudajaṭharagranthitkatakṣamayaḥ | pratisyāyajāḥ koṣṭhajās ca tvagdoṣiṇāṃ pramehiṇām vā ye pratikṣateṣu dṛsyante sarkarāsikatāmehīvātakuṇḍalikāṣṭhīlā dantaśarkaropakuśakaṇṭhaśākaniṣkaṣaṇadṛṣitādantaveṣṭā viṣasarpāsthikṣatoraḥkṣatayas ca yāpyāḥ || bhavanti cātra || sādhyā yāpyatvam āyānti yāpyāś cāsādhyatām iyuḥ || asādhyāsdaduprāṇān narāṇām akriyāvatāṃ || evaṃ yāpyaṃ vijānīyāt kriyā dhārayate hitaṃ | kriyāyān tu nivṛttāyāṃ sadya eva vinasyati || prāptā kriyā dhārayate yāpyavyādhikam āturaṃ | prapantimivāgāraviṣkambhaḥ sādhuyojitaḥ || kriyāyāṃ tu nivṛttāyāṃ sadya eva vinasyati | viṣkambhapatanād yadvad gṛhasya patanaṃ dhruvaṃ || ata ūrdham asādhyām upadekṣyāmaḥ || mānsapiṇḍavad udgatāḥ prasekinontaḥpūyavedanāvantaḥ | aśvāpānavad udvṛtoṣṭhāḥ kecit kaṭhinā gośṛṅgavadugatāḥ mṛdumānsaprarohāḥ | apare duṣṭarudhirasrāviṇaḥ | tanupicchilasrāviṇo vā madhtonnatāḥ || kecid avasannaśuṣiraparyantāḥ | śaṇatūlavat snāyujālavanto durdarśanāḥ | vasāmedomajjāmastuluṅgasrāviṇas ca | doṣasamutthāḥ pītāsitamūtrapurīṣavātavāhinas ca koṣṭhaprāptāḥ || ta evobhayatobhāgaṃ vraṇamukheṣu yaraktanirvārhiṇaḥ | kṣīṇamānsānāñ ca sarvato gatayas tvaṇumukhā māṃsabudbudavantaḥ | saśabdavātavāhinaś ca śiraḥkaṇṭhasthāḥ kṣīṇamāṃsānāṃ ca pūyarudhiranirvāpinaḥ | arocakāvipākakāsaśvāsopadravayuktāḥ bhinnecaśiraḥkapāle yatra mastuluṅgadarśanaṃ tridoṣaliṅgaprādurbhāvaḥ| kāsaśvāsau vā yasyeti || bhavati cātra ślokaḥ || vasāmedotha majjānam mastuluṃgañ ca yaḥ śravet | āgaṃtujo vraṇaḥ siddhyen na siddhyed doṣasambhavaḥ || amanmopahite deśe śirāsaṃndhyasthivarjite | vikāro yo nupary eti tad asādhyasya lakṣaṇaṃ || krameṇopayaṃ prāptodhatūn anugataḥ śanaiḥ | na śakyamunmūlayituṃ vṛddho vṛkṣa ivāmayaḥ || sasthiratvān mahattvāc ca dhātvaranukrameṇena ca | nihantyauṣadhavīryāṇi balavatvāt tathaiva ca || ḍhavarmānamagranthimasūnamarujaṃ vraṇaṃ | tvakksuvarṇṇasamatalaṃ ato yo vipaṛtaḥ syāt sukhasādhyaḥ sa ucyate || alandamūlakṣupako yadvad utpāṭane sukhaṃ || tribhir doṣair aṇākrāntaḥ syāvoṣṭhapiḍakīsamaḥ | avedano nirāsrāvo vraṇaḥ śuddha iti smṛta || kapotavarṇṇapratimā yasyāntākladavarjitāḥ | sthirāś ca piṭakovanto rohatīti tam ādiśet || ḍhavarmānamagranthimasūnaṃmarujaṃ vraṇaṃ | tvaksavarṇṇasamatalaṃ samyagḍhaṃ vinirdiśet || doṣaprakopād vyāyāmād abhighātād ajīrṇṇataḥ | harṣāt krodhāt bhayād vāpi vraṇo ḍho vidīryate || ||
athāto vyādhisamuddeśīyam adhyāya vyākhyāmaḥ || dvividhā vyādhayaḥ sastrasādhyāḥ snehādikriyāsādhyāś ca | tatra śastrasādhyeṣu snehādikriyā na pratiṣidhyate snehādikriyāsādhyeṣu śastrakarma na kriyate || asmiṃs tu śāstre sarvatra sāmānyāt || sarveṣāṃ vyādhīnāṃ yathāsthaulyenāvarodhaḥ kriyate | prāgabhihitan tadduḥkhasaṃyogād vyādhir iti || tacca duḥkhaṃ trividhaṃ || ādhyātmikam ādhibhautikam ādhidaivikam iti | tac ca duḥkhaṃ saptavidhe vyādhāv upanipatati | saptavidhās tu vyādhayaḥ | tad yathā ādibalapravṛttāḥ | janmabalapravṛttāḥ | doṣabalapravṛttāḥ | saṃghātabalapravṛttāḥ | daivabalapravṛttāḥ | svabhāvabalapravṛttāḥ | ti || tatrādibalapravṛttā nāma śukraśoṇitadoṣānvayāḥ | kuṣṭhārśaprabhṛtayaḥ || te pi dvivividhā mātṛjāpitṛjāś ca | janmabalapravṛttā nāma | ye mātur āpacārāt | paṅgujaḍajātyandhamūkadhabadhiraminminavāmanaprabhṛtayo jāyante | te dvividhā rasakṛtā dauhṛdāpacārakṛtāś ca | doṣabalapravṛttā nāma | ye ātaṅkāpacārakṛtās te dvividhā | sārīrā mānasāś ca || kālabalapravṛttā nāma | ye śītoṣṇavavātavarṣāprabhṛttibhiḥ samutapannās tepi vyāpannāś ca | rikvakṛrtalakṛtaḥ | atra sarvavyādhyuparodhaḥ saṃghātabalapravṛttā nāma | ya āgantave ādhibhautikās te dvividhāḥ | durbalasya balavadvigrahāc chatrādikṛtāś ca | daivabalapravṛttā nāma | ya aupasargikā dvividhā | ābhicārābhiṣāpābhiṣaṅgajāḥ || svabhāvabalapravṛttā nāma | kṣutpipāsājarāmṛtyunidrāḥ prabhṛtaya iti | te pi dvividhā rakṣakṛtā arakṣakṛtā | rakṣakṛta kālakṛta | arakṣakṛta akālakṛta | atra sarvatra vyādhyuparodhaḥ | sarveṣāṃ ca vyādhīnām vātapittaśleṣmāṇa eva mūlaṃ || talliṅgatvād dṛṣṭaphalatvād āgamac ca paśyāmaḥ | yathā hi kṛtsnavikārajātajātam vaisvarūpeṇa vyavasthitaṃ | satva raja tamāṃsi avyaricya varttante | evam eva kṛtsnaṃ vikārajātam vaisvarūpeṇāvasthitaṃ | ma vyatiricya vātapittaśleṣmāṇo varttante | doṣadhātumalasaṃsargād āyatanaviśeṣān nimittataś caiṣāṃ vikalpo bhavati | doṣadūṣiteṣv atyarthañ ca dhātuṣu saṃjñā bhavati || rasajo yaṃ raktajo yaṃ māśajo yaṃ medajo yaṃ asthijo yaṃ majjajo yaṃ śukrajo yaṃ vyādhir iti || aśradvārocakāpipāsāṅgamarddajvarahṛllāsatṛptigauravapāṇḍurogaśrātorodhokārsyavairasyāṅgaspadaḥ | akālapalitatimiradarśanarasadoṣajā vikārāḥ || kuṣṭhavisarppaviḍhakās tilakālakanacchavyaṅśamasakanīlikākoṭhaplīhagulmavidradhyarśśārbudāsūgūraraktapittaprabhṛtayo raktadoṣā || gudamukhameḍhrapākāś cādhimāṃśārbbudārsopajihvopakuśagalaśuṇḍikāmāṃśasaṃghātoṣṭhaprakopagalagaṇḍagaṇḍamālāprabhṛtayo māṃsadoṣāt || granthivṛddhigalagaṇḍārbbudoṣṭhaprakopamadhumehātisthaulyaprabhṛtayo medadoṣāt || adhyasthidantāsthitodaśūlādayosthidoṣajāt || tamodarśanamūrcchābhramopārśvagauravahṛcchūlasthūlalarujāś timajjadoṣāt || klaibyam apraharṣaś ca śukradoṣāt || tvagdoṣassaṅgātipravṛrttirvāmalānāṃ malāyatanadoṣāt || indriyānāṃ mayaḥ || pravṛttir apravṛttir vvā indriyāyatanadoṣād ity eṣa samāso vistare nimittāni caiṣā pratiryogaṃn vakṣyāmaḥ || bhavati cātra || kupitānāṃ hi hi doṣāṇā sarīroparidhāvatāṃ | yatra saṅgaḥ savaiguṇyād vyādhis tatropajāyate || bhūyo 'tra jijñāsate | kim vātapittaśleṣmāṇāṃ jvarātisādīnāṃ ca nityaṃ saṃsleṣaḥ paricchedo veti | yadi hi nityaṃ saṃsleṣaḥ syān ity āturā eva sarvaprāninaḥ syu | athāpi anyathābhāvo vātādīnā jvarādīnāṃ cānyatra varttamānasyānyasya liṅgaṃ na bhavatīti | kṛtvā vātādayaujvarādīyāṃ mūlānīti tan na || atrocyate || doṣāpratyākhyāya jvarādayo na bhavanti | atha ca na nityasambaddhaḥ | yathā hi vidyudvātāsanivarṣāṇyākāsapratyākhyāya na bhavanti | satyapyākāse kadācic ca na bhavanti | atha ca nimittato bhavanti | taraṅgabudbudādayaś codake viseṣāḥ | evam vātādīnā jvarādīnāñ ca na nityasaṃsleṣo na vicchedaḥ sāsvatikaḥ | atha ca nimittataḥ | tebhya evotpattir iti || vikāraparimāṇañ ca saṃkhyā caiṣāṃ pṛthak pṛthak | vistareṇottare tantre sarvā bādhāṃ pravakṣyuhareti || ||
athātoṣṭavidhasastrakarmavidhiniścayaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ | chedyās tu bhagandarāsaurbudaduṣṭavraṇanāḍīcarmakīlatilakālakamedogranthisleṣmanimittās maslathāmānsasirāsnāyukothamānsakardīmānsāsthigatam api ca śalyamuttavaḥ śataponakojatum aṇirvalmīkam adhruṣodhimāṃsaḥ | māṃsaṃghātagalaśuṇḍikā ity evam ādayo vikārāḥ | bhedyās tu sarvajam ṛte vidrapye tuśayīpramehapiḍhakāgranthayaś ca visarpāś cāditastrayas trayo vṛddhayaś ca vidārikāvamanthau puṣkarikānānyastanarogāś ca sahopadasaiḥ sohārsvasarvasarāḥ prāyasaḥ kṣudrarogās tathā tālapuppuḍhatuṇḍikerīgilāyuprabhṛtayo 'ntaḥ pūyaśalyāḥ pañcamedaḥ samutthā asmarīhetovastikaś ca || lekhāś catasro rohiṇyāvraṇametravarmāṇy adhijihvopajihve māṃsocchrayaḥ kilāsodattavaidarbhaḥ pañcamedojāś ca || vyedhyās tu sirodaravṛddhiprabhṛtayaḥ | eṣās tu gatimanto vraṇānānyaḥ śalyāni ca || āharttavyās tu dantāntaḥ śarkaśmarīmūḍhagarbhakarṇṇamalasalyānipādaśarkarā ca | viśrāvyovidradhiḥ | sarvo bhavodanyatra sarvajāta | kuṣṭāni vāyuḥ sarujaḥ sophaś cāpy ekadeśajaḥ | pālyāmayāślīpadāni viṣaduṣṭañ ca soṇitaṃ | arbudāni visarpāś ca granthayāś cāditaś ca ye || trayas trayas te viśrāṣcāstanarogās tañ caiva ca || sauṣiraḥ kaṇṭhaśālūkaḥ kaṇūkākṛmidantakaḥ | dantaveṣṭaḥ sopakuśaḥ śītādo dantapuppaṭaḥ || pittāsṛkkaphajāś cauṣṭhyāḥ kṣudrarogāś ca bhūyaśaḥ | sīvyā medasamutthās tu bhitvā vilikhitaṃ tathā || kapṇagranthir alpapāliḥ karṇṇasadyo vraṇaś ca yaḥ || śirolalāṭākṣikṛṭakarṇṇeṣv anāsāgaṇḍakṛkāṭikā| bāhūdarasphikpāyuprajananamuṣkādiṣu pradeseṣv acaleṣu mānsavatsu ca śīvyet | jānukurparajaṃghādiṣu pracaleṣv alpamāṃseṣu na sīvyet | vāyunirvāhinontulohitaśalyāḥ saviṣāṃś ca tatra vāsīvyaṃ vraṇam abhis amīkṣyacelāsthipāṃsutṛṇaromaśuṣkaraktādīny apohotkṛtyākṛṣya yathāsthānaṃ sthāyayitvā snāyusūtravālānāṃmanyatamena sīvyet | saṇāṣmantakamūrvātaśīnāṃ vā valkalaiḥ | sūcyas tutisu upadiśyante | dvyaṅgulātryaṅgulādhanuvakrebhi | tatra māṃsaleṣv avakāseṣu tryasrāḥ sīnvyasthiscalpamāṃseṣu ca dvyaṅgulāvṛttāpatkāsamayor marmasu ca dhanuvaccakrārdhatṛtīyāguleti | redharsṇakātūnasevanyāveṃllitakaṃ rajagranthibandhañceti | samāsena secanavikalpāḥ | teṣān nāmabhir evākutayaḥ prāyeṇa vyākhyātāḥ teṣāṃ prahāram āsādyopayogāṃ vudvyāvekṣya na cātisannikṛṣṭāṃ viprakṛṣṭām alpagrāhiṇīm vā sūcīprotayet | evaṃ vedanāvaluñcanam bhavati || bhavati cātra ślokaḥ | dūre nipatitābādhaṃ sannikṛṣṭaviluñcanaṃ | alpagrahān tadvad eva vraṇe kuryād atas tyajet | samyak sīvitam avekṣya madhughṛtayutair añjaranemadhukalodhrapriyaṅgusallakīphalarasāñjanakṣaumamasīcūrṇṇaiḥ pratisārya bandhenopacareta || bhavanti cātra || etad aṣṭavidhaṃ karma samāsena prakīrttitaṃ | cikitsiteṣu kārtsnyena vistaran tasya vakṣyate || hīnātirikta tiryakca gātrachedanam ātmanaḥ | etāś catasroṣṭavidhe karmaṇi vyāpadasmṛtāḥ | ajñānalobhāhitavākyayogair bhayapramohair aparaiś ca bhā vaiḥ | vaidyo yadā śastram abhiprayuñjan sa śeṣadoṣāṃ kururute vikārān || taṃ kṣāraśastrāgnibhir oṣadhaiś ca bhūyo bhiyuñjantam ayuktiyuktaṃ | jijīviṣur dūrata eva vaidyaṃ vivarjayed ugraviṣāhitulyaṃ || tad eva yuktaṃ tv atimarmasandhīṃ hinsyāt sirāsnāyum athāsthi caiva | mūrkhaprayuktaṃ puruṣakṣaṇena prāṇair viyuṃjyadathavā kadācit || bhramaḥ pralāpaḥ patanaṃ pramoho viveṣṭanalīyanam uṣṇatā ca | suptāṅgatā mūrcchanam ūrddhvavātaḥ | tīvrā rujo vātakṛtāś ca tās tāḥ || māṃsodakābhaṃ rudhiraṃ ca gacchet sarvendriyārthoparamas tathaiva | daśārdhasaṃkhyeṣv atha vikṣateṣu sāmānyato marmasu liṅgam uktaṃ || surendragopapratimaṃ prabhūtaṃ | raktaṃ śravet tat kṣaṇajañ ca vāyuḥ | karoti rogāṃ vividhāṃ yathoktāṃ | śirāsucchinnāśv atha vikṣatāsu || kaubjaśarīrāvayavāvasādaḥ kriyāsvaśaktis tumulā rujaś ca | cirāt vraṇārohati yasya cāpi taṃ śnāyuviddhaṃ manujaṃ vyavasyet || śophātivṛddhis tumulā rujaś ca balakṣayaḥ sarvata eva śophaḥ | kṣateṣu sandhiṣv acalācaleṣu syāt sarvakarmoparamaś ca liṅgam || ghorā rujo yasya niśādineṣu sarvāsv avasthāsu ca naiti śāntim | bhiṣagvipaścidbhividitārthasūtrantam tam asthividdhaṃ manujaṃ vyavasyet || yathāsvam etāni vibhāvayec ca liṅgāni marmasvabhitāḍiteṣu | ṇttāvivarṇṇaḥ sparśanna veti yo māṃsamarmaṇy abhitāḍitaḥ saḥ | ātmānamevātijaghanyakārī śastreṇa yo hiṃsati karma kurvat | tarkānmavānānmantradaṃ kuvaidyaṃ vivarjayed āyurabhīpsamānaḥ || tiryakpraṇihite śastre doṣāḥ purvam udāhṛtāḥ | tasmāt pariharaṃ doṣāṃ kuruyāc chastranipātanam || mātaram pitaram putraṃ bāndhavān api cāntaraḥ | apy etāñ chaṅkate nityaṃ vaidye viśvāsam eti ca || visṛjetyātmanātmānan na cainaṃ pariśaṅkate | tasmāt putravad eveha pālayed āturam bhiṣak || karmaṇā kaścid ekena dvābhyāṅkaś cittribhis tathā | vikāraḥ sādhyate kaścic caturbhir api karmabhiḥ || ||
athātaḥ pranaṣṭasalyavijñānīyaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || athātaḥ pranaṣṭaśalyavijñānīyaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || atha śalahinsāyāṃ dhatuḥ tasya yat pratyayasya śalyam iti pam bhavati | tat dvividhiṃ śārīram āgantukaś ca || śarīrāgabandhaś ca sarvaśarīrābādhā ihopadṛśyanta ity ataḥ salyasāstraṃ | tatra śārīrāṇi dantanakharomādīni | dhātavonnamalā doṣāś ca duṣṭāḥ āgaṃtrūni śārīraśalyavyatirekeṇa yāvanto bhāvāḥ | duḥkham utpādayanti || bhavati cātra || śarīre sarvaśalyānāṃ gatayaḥ pañcadhā smṛtāḥ | dajdhārātamavācīnaṃ tiryag ūrdvamadhogatam || tāni tudāvegakṣayāt pratīghātād vā tvagādiṣu vraṇavastuṣu tiṣṭhante | dhamanīsrotosthipeśīvivaraprabhṛtiṣu vā śarīrapradeśeṣu tat tu lakṣaṇam ucyamānam upadhārayasra | śyāvaṃ piḍhakācitasophavedanāvantaṃ muhurmuhuḥ | śoṇitāsrāviṇaṃ budbudavad udgataṃ mṛdumānsaṃ ca vraṇajānīyāt saśalyam iti | sāmānyato lakṣaṇam uktam | viśeṣas tvaggate vivarṇṇāḥ śopho bhavaty āyataḥ kaṭhinaś ca | māṃsagate śophābhivṛddhir asaṃrohaḥ pīḍyānāśaṣṇahitā coṣaprapākau ca mānsānām paśyanta gatepyevaṃ coṣasoṣavarjaṃ śirāgate cādhmānañ calañ ca | snāyugate snāyujālavakṣepaṇam | srotye gato srotasāṃ svakarmaguṇahāniḥ | dhamanīgate saphenaṃ raktam īrayan saraṇaḥ saśabdo nirgacchaty aṅgamarddapipāsāhṛllāsaś ca | asthigate vividhavedanāprādurbhāvaḥ saśophāś ca | asthivivaragate tvasthicūrṇṇapūrṇṇatā saharṣovevāś ca | sandhigatāṃsyevaceṣṭoparamaś ca | koṣṭhagate āṭopānāhopurīṣāhāradarśanāni ca vraṇamukhād bhavanti || marmagate tu marmaviddhavad acakṣate | sūkṣmagatiṣu śalyeṣvetāny eva lakṣaṇāni vispaṣṭitāni bhavanti | mahānty alpāni vā śuddhadehānāṃ anulomasaṃniviṣṭāny uparohanti | viśeṣataḥ kaṇṭhagatasrotaḥsirātvakpeśyasthivivareṣu prakopavyāyāmād abhighātāt | kṣatād api sthānāṃ tu calitaṃ śalyaṃ punarābādhakaṃ bhavet | tatra tvakpraṇaṣṭe mṛdgomayacūrṇṇapramṛditāyāṃ tvaci yatra saṃrambho vedanāvānbhavati | śalyam iti jānīyāt | tatra styānaghṛtamṛtcandanakalkairvā pradigdhe salyoṣmaṇāśurcisarati ghṛtam upaśuṣyati lepo yatra tatra śalya jānīyāt | mānsapraṇaṣṭe snehādibhir āturam upapādayet | karṣitatu śithilīkṛtam anavabaddhaṃ kṣubhyamāṇaṃ yatra sarambhī vedanāṃ janayati tatra śalyaṃ jānīyāt kāṣṭhāsthisandhipesīvivareṣv avasthitam eva parīkṣeta | śirādhamanīsrotassu ca | snāyupraṇaṣṭe khaṇḍacakrasaṃyukte yātv āturaram āropyāśurviṣamedhvani yāyāt | yatra saṃrambho vedanāvān bhavati tatra śalyaṃ jānīyāt | asthipraṇaṣṭe snehasvedopapannānyasthīni bandhanapīḍanābhyāṃ bhṛśam upācaret | yatra saṃrambho vedanāvān bhavati | tatra śalyañ jānīyāt | sandhipraṇaṣṭe snehasvedopapannāṃ sandhīprasāraṇākuñcanabandhanapīḍanaiḥ bhṛśam upācaret | yatra saṃrambho vedanāvān bhavati | tatra śalyam vijānīyāt | marmapraṇaṣṭe tv ananyabhāvātmarmaṇāmuktaṃ parīkṣaṇaṃ bhavati | sāmānyalakṣaṇam api hastiskandhāśvapṛṣṭhaparvatadrumārohaṇadrutayānalaṅghanaplavanavyāyāmajṛmbhodgarakṣāvaṣuṣṭhīvanahasanaprāṇāyāmair vātamūtrapurīṣasukrotsarggair vā yatra vedanā vā bhavati | tatra śalyaṃ jānīyāt || bhavanti cātra | āturaś cāpi yaṃ deśam abhīkṣṇaṃ parirakṣati | saṃvāhyamāno bahuśas tatra śalyaṃ vinirdiśet || alpatām apisūnañ ca nirujan nirupadravāṃ | prasannamṛduparyantaṃ nirāghaṭṭam avedanam || eṣaṇyā sarvato dṛṣṭvā yathālābhaṃ cikitsakaḥ | prasarākuñcane nūnaṃ niśalyam iti nicciśet || asthyātmakaṃ bhidyate tu śalyamantaś ca sīryate | prāyo nirbhujyate śāṅgam āyasañ ceti niścayaḥ || rkṣañca vaiṇavaṃ caiva tāla cāpy anirhṛtam | pacanti raktamānsañ ca kṣipram etāni dehināṃ | kanakaṃ rajataṃ tāmraṃ kṛṣṇāyatrapuśīsakaṃ | cirasthānād vilīyante pittatejaḥpratāpanāt | svabhāvaśītā mṛdavo ye cānyepyevamādayaḥ | dravībhūtāḥ śarīre 'sminn ekatvayānti dehibhiḥ | viṣāṇadantakesāsthiveṇudāropalāni tu | śalyāni na viśīryante śarīre mṛnmayāni ceti || ||
|| athātaḥ śalyāpanayanīyaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ | tatra samāsena tv avabaddhaśalyoddharaṇārthān nava hetūn vakṣyāmaḥ | tad yathā | svabhāvaḥ pācanam pramārjananirdhamanapratimarṣaḥ | pravāhaṇaṃ | ācūṣaṇaṃ ayaskāntākarṣaṇaṃ harṣaṇam iti | tatra śrukṣavathukāsodgāramūtrapurīṣānilaiḥ svabhāvapravṛttai nayanādibhyaḥ prapatanti eṣa svabhāvo nāma || mānsāvagāḍham amavidahyamānaṃ pācayitvā prakothayet | pūyasoṇitavaisvāṅgair acādhāyata ti etat pācanan nāma | aṇūny akṣiśalyāni pariṣecanopadhamanabālavastrapāṇibhiḥ pramārjayed etat pramārjanaṃ nāma || āhāraśeṣaṃ kaṇṭhagataṃ seṣmagataṃ siṃghāṇakaṃ niśvāsotkāṣanābhyāṃ nirdhamed etaṃ nirdhamanaṃ nāma || anyaśalyāni tu vamanāṅgulisparśanaprabhṛtibhiḥ pramṛsyoddhared eśa pratimarśo nāma || vātamūtrapurīṣagarbhasaṃge virecanair vā pravāhaṇenoddhared etat pravāhanaṃ nāma || mārutodakastanyarudhiraviṣaśalyāny ācūṣaṇenoddhared āsyena viṣāṇena vā etad ācūṣaṇan nāma | anulomam anavabaddham ākarṇṇam analpavraṇamukham ayaskāntenoddharet || hṛdy avasthitam anekakāraṇenotpanna sokaśalyaṃ harṣaṇeneti | sarvaśalyānāṃ śarīragatānā mahatām aṇūnāñ ca dvāv evāharaṇahetū bhavataḥ pratilomo nulomaś ca || tatra pratilomam avāṃcīnam apanayet | anulomaṃ parācīnam utuṇḍita chitvā nirghātayet | cchedanīyamukhāny acchedanīyamukhāni kakṣavakṣaḥ|paraśukāntaram patitāni ca yathāmārgeṇāhartu prayateta | hastenāvāhartum aśakyam viśasya sastreṇāharet || bhabhavati cātra || śītalena jalenenam mūrcchantam avasecayet | saṃrakṣe cāsya marmāni muhur āśvāsayec ca taṃ | tataḥ śalyam uddhṛtya nirlohitavraṇaṃ kṛtvā svedārham agniprabhṛtibhiḥ | svedayitvā madhusarpirbhyāṃ badhvācārikam upadiśet | hṛdayaganivarttamānaśalyaṃ śītajalādibhir udvejitasyodvignahṛdayasyāpahared yathāmārgadurāharaṇam anyena parādhyamānaṃ pāṭayitvāpaharet | asthivivarapraviṣṭam asthividañ cāvagṛhya padbhyāṃ yaṃtreṇāpaharet | evam aśakyaṃ guṇair na pariveṣṭya badhvāśvavaktrakaṭake | pañcāvṛkṣasākhāyāṃ vā acchedyadeśottuṇḍitamaṣṭhīlāsmamudgarāṇām anyatamasya prahāreṇa vicālya yathāmārgata eva yantreṇa mṛditakarṇṇam akarṇṇaṃ ceti | anābādhakarasotuṇḍitāni purastād eva | jātuṣe tu kaṇṭhaśakte kaṇṭhanāḍīṃ praveśyāgnitaptāś ca śalākāntayā prāptā śītābhir adbhiḥ pariṣicya sthirībhūtaṃ śalyam uddharet | ajātuṣaṃ jatunā liptayā pūrvakalpenāsthiśalyam anyad vā tirya śaktām avekṣyañ ca keśoṇḍuvaṃ dṛḍhaikadīrghāsūtrabandhanaṃ kṛtvā dravabhaktopahita pāyayad ākaṇṭhāc ca pūrṇṇakoṣṭhaṃ vāmayed vamataś ca śalyaikadeśaktaṃ sūtraṃ anyad vā sahasā tv ākṣipet | mṛdunā dantadhāvanakūrccakenāharet | praṇuded vāntaḥkṣatakaṇṭhaya ca madhusarpiloha prayacchet | triphalācūrṇṇam vā madhuśarkarāmiśram udakapūrṇṇam avāṃcchirasam avapīḍayet | dhunuyād vāmayec ca grāsaśalye tu kaṇṭhaśakte niḥśaṅkam anavabaddhaṃ skandhe muṣṭhino haret | snehasukhodakam vā pāyayet || bhavantibhavanti cātra || śalyākṛtiviśeṣāñ ca sthānañ cāvekṣya naikadhā | tathā yatrapṛthaktvañ ca samyak śalyam athāharet || karṇṇavanti ca śalyāni duḥkhāny āharaṇe viduḥ | ādadīta bhiṣak tasmāt tāni yuktyā samāhitaḥ || etair upāyaiḥ śalyaṃ tu naiva nirhāryate yadi | matyā nipunayā vaidyo yantrayogaiś ca nirharet || śophapākau rujaś cogrā kuryāc chalyam inirhṛtam | vaikalyaṃ maraṇaṃ cāpi tasmād yatnād vinirhared iti || 27 ||
athāto viparītavraṇavijñānīyaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || phalāgnijalavṛṣṭīnāṃ puṣpadhūmāmbudā yathā | khyāpayanti bhaviṣyatvaṃ riṣṭāni maraṇan tathā || tāni saukṣmyāt pramadād vā tathaivāśu vyatikramāt | gṛhyante nodgatāny ajñair mumūrṣor na tv asaṃbhavāt || dhruvaṃ hi riṣṭe maraṇaṃ brāhmaṇyais tat kilāmalaiḥ | rasāyanatapojāpyatatparair vā nivāryate || nakṣatrapīḍā bahudhā yathā kālād viparcyate | riṣṭapākaṃ tathā kecit bruvate bahavo janāḥ || asiddhi prāpnuyāl loke pratikurvaṅ gatāyuṣaḥ | tasmād yatnena riṣṭāni lakṣayet kuśalo bhiṣak || gandhavarṇṇarasādīnām viśeṣāṇāṃ svabhāvataḥ | vaikṛtya yat tad ācaṣṭe vraṇina pakvapalakṣaṇam || kaṭus tīvraś ca viśraś ca gandhas tu pavanādibhiḥ | lohagandhis tu raktena vyāmiśra sānnipātikaḥ || lājātasītailasamāḥ kiñcid viśrāś ca gandhataḥ | jñeyā prakṛtigandhā syur ato nyad gandhavaikṛtam || madyājyayoḥ sumanasāṃ padmacandanayor api | sugandhā divyagandhāś ca mumūrṣūṇām vraṇāḥ smṛtāḥ || śvavājimūṣikādhvāṃkṣapūtivallūramaṃkuṇaiḥ | sagandhāḥ paṅkagandhāś ca bhūmigandhāś ca garhitāḥ || kuṅkumadhyāmakaṃguṣṭhasavarṇṇāḥ pittajāś ca ye | na dahyante na śuṣyanti varjaye tām vicakṣaṇaḥ || kaṇḍūmantaḥ sthirāḥ snigdhāḥ | svetāḥ kaphanimittajāḥ | dahyante vedanāvanto bhiṣak tān api varjayet || kṛṣṇā ye tv aruṇāśrā vātājā marmatāpinaḥ | svalpām api na kurvanti rujan tān api varjayet || kṣveḍanti ghurghurāyanti jvalantīva ca ye vraṇāḥ | tvaṅmānsasthā pavanaṃ saśabdaṃ visṛjanti ye || ye tv marmasvasaṃbhūtā bhavanty atyarthavedanāḥ | dahyante cāntaratyartham brahi śītāś ca ye vraṇāḥ || dahyante bahir atyartha bhavanty antaś ca śītalāḥ | śaktikuntadhvajārathā vājivāraṇā apakṣiṇaḥ | yeṣu cāpy avabhāseyuḥ prāsādakṛtayas tathā | cūrṇṇāvakīrṇṇā iva ye bhānti cānavacūrṇṇitāḥ || prāṇamāṃsakṣayaśvāsakāsārocakapīḍitāḥ | pravṛddhapūyarudhirāḥ vraṇā yeṣāñ ca marmasu || kriyābhi samyag ārabdhā na siddhyanti ca ye vraṇāḥ | varjayed api tāṃ prājñaḥ sarakṣan ātmano yasaḥ || || 28 ||
athāta viparītadūtasvapnadarśanīyaṃ vyākhyāmaḥ || dūtadarśanasambhāṣā veṣaceṣṭitam eva ca | ṛkṣavelā tithiś caiva nimitta śakuno 'nilaḥ || gehe vaidyasya vāgdehamanasāñ ca viceṣṭitaṃ || kathayanty āturagataṃ śubham vā yadi vāśubhaṃ || pāṣaṇḍāśramavarṇṇānāṃ savarṇṇakarmmasiddhaye | ta eva viparītā syur dūtā karmavipattaye || napunsakaḥ strī bahavo nyathā kāryānusūyakāḥ | gardabhoṣṭrarathārūḍhā rudantyaḥ sandhyayos tathā || vaidyaṃ ya upasarpanti dūtās te cāpi garhitāḥ | pāṣadaṇḍāyudhadharāḥ śuklaitaranivāsanaḥ || ārddrajīrṇṇāvasavyekamalinodhvatavāsasaḥ | nyūnādhikāṃgātikṛṣṇā vikṛtā raudrarūpiṇaḥ || rūkṣaniṣṭhuravaktāras tv amaṅgalyābhidhāyinaḥ | cchidanta tṛṇakāṣṭhāni spṛśanto nāsikāstanaḥ || vastrāntānāmikākeśanakharomadaśān spṛśan | likhanto vā mahīṅ kiñcit muñcanto loṣṭabhedinaḥ | tailakardamaliptāṅgā raktaśraganulepanāḥ || phalam pakvam asāram vā gṛhītyadapatadvidham | nakhair nakhāṅkarañ cāpi kareṇa caraṇan tathā || upānacarmahastā vā vikṛtāḥ vyādhipīḍitāḥ | vāmācārā rudanto vā śvāsino vivṛttekṣaṇāḥ || yāmyān diśaṃ prāñjalayo viṣam ekapade sthitāḥ | vaidyaṃ ya upasarpanti dūtās te cāpi garhitāḥ || dakṣiṇābhimukhan deśe maline krūrakarmiṇaṃ | bhūmau śayānan nagnam vā vegotsargeṣu vāśucim || prakīrṇṇakeśam abhyaktaṃ svinnam viklavam eva vā | vaidyaṃ ya upasarpanti dūtās te cāpi garhitāḥ || pitrye vā bahukārye vā tathā cotpātadarśane | madhyāhne cārddharātre vā sandhyayoḥ kṛttikāsu vā || ārddrāśleṣāmaghāmūlāpūrvvāsu bharaṇīṣu vā | navamyām atha ṣaṣṭhyām vā pakṣasandhidineṣu vā || vaidyaṃ ya upasarpanti dūtās te cāpi garhitāḥ | svinnābhitaptā madhyāhne jvalana samīpataḥ || garhitāḥ pittarogeṣu dūtā vaidyaṃ samāgatāḥ | ta eva kapharogeṣu karmasiddhikarā smṛtāḥ || etena śeṣaṃ vyākhyātaṃ svabuddhyā vibhajet bhiṣak || raktapittātisāreṣu prameheṣu tathaiva ca || ārddrāśleṣāmaghāmūlāpūrvvāsu bharaṇīṣu vā |praśasto jalasaṃrodho vaidyāturasamāgamaḥ | evam vibhāgaṃ vijñāya śeṣam budhyeta paṇḍitaḥ || śuklavāsāḥ śucigauraḥ syāmo vā priyadarśanaḥ | svasyāñ jātau svagotro vā dūta kāryeḥ kara smṛtaḥ | goyānenāgatas tuṣṭaḥ padbhyām vā kliṣṭaceṣṭitaḥ | dhṛtimām̐ś ca vidhijñaś ca kālajñaḥ pratipattimāṃ || alaṅkṛto maṅgalavāg dūtaḥ kāryakaraḥ smṛtaḥ | svasthaṃ prāṅmukham āsīnaṃ same deśe śucau śucim || upagacchanti ye vaidyan te ca kāryakarāḥ smṛtāḥ | māṃsakumbhodakacchatravipravāraṇagovṛṣāḥ | śuklavarṇṇāś ca pūjyante prasthāne darśanāgatāḥ | strī putriṇī savatsā gaur vardhamānam alakṛtāḥ || kanyā matsyāḥ phalañ cāmaṃ svastīkā modakā dadhi | hiraṇyākṣatapātram vā ratnāni sumano nṛpaḥ | apraśāntabalo vājī haṃsaś cāsaḥ sikhī tathā || brahmadundubhipuṇyāhaḥ śaṅkhaveṇurathasvanāḥ | siṃhameghanidānāś ca heṣitaṃ gajabṛhitaṃ || śastaṃ haṃsarutan nṝṇām vācaś ca hṛdayapriyāḥ | āsthitā vā na veśmadhvajatoraṇavedikāḥ | dikṣu śastāsu vaktāro madhuraṃ pṛṣṭhato nugāḥ | vāmā vā dakṣiṇā vāpi śakunā karmmasiddhaye | śuṣke sanihate patre vallīnaddhe sakaṇṭake | vṛkṣo tha vāśmabhasmāsthibhūtuṣāṅgārapāśuṣu || caityavalmīkaviṣamasthitā dīptakharasvaṇāḥ | purato dikṣu dīptāsu vaktāro nārthasādhakāḥ | puṃsaṃjñāḥ pakṣiṇo vāmāḥ strīsaṃjñā dakṣiṇāḥ śubhāḥ | dakṣiṇād vāmagamanam praśastañ ca śvaśṛgālayoḥ | cāsakauśikayor evan nobhayaṃ śasasarpayoḥ | darśanam vā rutam vāpi na godhākṛkalāśayoḥ | dūtair aṇiṣṭai tulyānām asastan darśanan nṛṇāṃ | kulatthatilakarpāsatuṣapāṣāṇabhasmanām | pātran neṣṭan tathāṅgāratailakardamapūritaṃ | vinā surām vā madyānāṃ pūrṇṇam vā raktasarsapaiḥ | śavakāṣṭhapalāśānāṃ rūḍhānām pathi saṅgamāḥ | neṣyante patitāntasthadīnāndharipavas tathā | mṛduśīto nukūlaś ca sugandhiś cānilaḥ śubhaḥ | kharoṣṇo niṣṭagandhaś ca pratilomo na sasyate | granthyarbudādiṣu sadā cchedaśabdas tu pūjitaḥ | vidradhyudaragulmeṣu bhedaśabda tathaiva ca | raktapittātisāreṣu ruddhaśabda praśasyate | daurmanyasyañ ca vaidyasya yātrāyāṃ naiva pūjitaṃ | praveśe py evam etat syād avekṣya ca yathāturaṃ | pratidvāre gṛhe cāsya idam bhūyo na pūjyate | bhāṇḍānāṃ saṅkarasthānāṃ sthānasañcaraṇan tathā || nikhātotpāṭanam bhaṅgaḥ sastrāṇā nirgamas tathā | vaidyāsanāvasādo vā āturo vāpy adhomukhaḥ | vaidyaṃ saṃbhāṣate ṅgāni kūḍyam āstaraṇāni vā | anusṛjya dhunuyād vā pragṛhītaśiras tathā | hastam vākṛṣya vaidyasya nyasec chirasi corasi | na sa sidhyati vaidyo pi gṛhe yasya na pūjyate | vaidyam muhurmuhuḥ pṛcchan māṣṭir vā cāṅgam āturaḥ | bhūya saṃpūjyate gṛhe vaidyaḥ sa sidhyati | śubhaṃ śubheṣu dūtāniṣv asubhaṃ hy aśubheṣu ca | āturasya dhruvan tasmād dūtādīn samparīkṣayet || svapnān ataḥ pravakṣyāmi maraṇāya subhāya ca | paśyantu suhṛdo yāṃs tu svapnān svayam athāpi vā | snehābhyaktaśarīrasya karabhavyāḍagardabhaiḥ | varāhair mahiṣair vāpi yāyād dakṣiṇāmukhaṃ || kṛṣṇā raktāmbaradharā hasantī muktamūrdhajāḥ | yam vā karṣati badhvā strī hasantan dakṣiṇāmukhaṃ | ante nivāsibhir yo vā py ākṛṣyed dakṣiṇāmukhaṃ | pariṣvajyeye yuñ cāpi pretāḥ pravrajitās tathā | āghrāyate yaś ca muhuḥ śvāpadair vikṛtānanaiḥ | piben madhu ca tailañ ca yo vā paṅke vasīdati | paṅkapradigdhagātro vā nṛtyed vātha hasena vā | nirambaraś ca yo raktāṃ dhārayec chirasā srajaṃ | yasya vaṃśo nalo vāpi vṛkṣo vorasi jāyate | mastakādyaś ca tālo vā ucchritā vīṇuvīrudhaḥ || yam vā matsyo grased yo vā jvala pravise naraḥ | parvatāṅgrāt pated yo vā śvabhre vā tamasāvṛte | hriyate srotasā yo vā yo vā moṇḍyam avāpnuyāt || parājīyeta yuddhair vā kākādyair vābhibhūyate | patanan tārakādīnāṃ praṇāso dīpacakṣuṣoḥ | yaḥ paśyed devatānām vā prakampam patanan tathā | yasya ccharddir vireko vā dasanāt prapatanti vā | śālmaliṃ kiṃśukaṃ pūyam valmīkam pāribhadrakam || puṣpādyaṃ kovidāram vā citām vā yo dhirohati | karpāsatailapiṇyākalohāni lavanaṃ tilān | svasthaḥ sa labhate vyādhiṃ vyādhito mṛtyu gacchati | yathāsvaṃ prakṛtisvapno vismṛto vihatas tathā | cintākṛto divā yaś ca bhavanty aphaladās tu te | jvaritānāṃ śunā sakhyaṅ kapisakhyan tu śoṣiṇāṃ | unmāde rākṣasaiḥ pretair apasmāre tu narttanam | mehātisāriṇān toyasnehapānaṃ tu kuṣṭhinaḥ | gulme tu sthāvarotpattiḥ koṣṭhe mūrdhni śiroruji | pipāsāsvāsayor adhvā cchardyāṃ saṣkulibhakṣaṇaṃ | hāridram bhojanam vāpi yad bhavet pāṇḍurogiṇaḥ | raktapittī bhaved yaś ca śoṇitaṃ sa vinasyati | devā dvijāṃ govṛṣabhāṃ jīvitaḥ suhṛdo nṛpāṃ | samṛddham agni sāsādhūṃś ca nirmalāni jalāni ca | pasyet kalyānabhāvāya vyādher apagamāya ca | māṃsaṃ matsyaṃ śrajaḥ svetā vāsāṃsi ca phalāni ca | labhate dhanalābhāya vyādher apagamāya ca | nadīnadasamudrāṃś ca kṣubhitā nirmalodakāṃ | tareta kalyānalābhāya vyādher apagamāya ca | prāsādāṃ saphalāṃ vṛkṣāṃ vāraṇāṃ parvatāṃs tathā | āruhed dravyalābhāya vyādher apagamāya ca | īdṛgvidhāṃ cchubhāṃ nyonva svapnāṃ pasyet sadāturaḥ | sa dīrghāyur iti khyātas tasmai karma samācared iti || 29 ||
athātaḥ pañcendriyārthavipratipattim adhyāyaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || śarīraśīlayo yasya prakṛtir vikṛtir bhavet | tadāriṣṭaṃ samāsena vyāsatas tu nibodha me || śṛṇoti vividhāṃ śabdāṃ yo vidyān asato bahūn | samudrapurameghānām asampattau ca tāṃ svanāṃ || tāṃ svanām vā na gṛhṇīte gṛhṇīte cānyaśabdavat | grāmāraṇyasvanāṃś cāpi gṛhṇāti viparītavat | dviṣacchabdena ramate suhṛcchabdena kupyati | yac cākasmān na gṛhṇīte gatāsun tam pracakṣate || yat tūṣṇam iti gṛhṇāti śītam uṣṇañ ca śītavat | sañjātaśītapiḍhakau yaś ca dāhyena pīḍyate || uṣṇagātro 'tigātrañ ca yaḥ śītena pravepate | prahāran nābhijānāti sa gaccheta yamālayaṃ || pāṃsunaivāvakīrṇṇāni yaś ca gātrāṇi manyate | varṇṇānyatā vā rājye vā yasya gātre bhavanti hi || snātānulipta yañ cāpi bhajante nīlamakṣikāḥ || sugandho vāti cākasmāt ta bruvanti gatāyuṣaṃ || viparītena gṛhṇāti rasāṃ yaś copayojitāṃ | kramopayuktāṃś ca rasāṃ yasya doṣābhivṛddhaye || yasya doṣāgnisāmyañ ca kuryu mithyopayojitā | yo vā rasan na samveti tam bruvanti gatāyuṣam || surabhīn durabhim veti durabhin surabhīti ca | yo vā gandhan na gṛhṇāti śānte ca dīpe ca mānavaḥ divā jyotīṃṣi yaś cā jvalitānīva paśyati | rātrau candraṃ jvalantam vā sūryam vā candravarccasam | ameghopaplave yaś ca śakracāpataḍiguṇāṃ | taḍidvato guṇān yac ca nirmale gagane ghanāṃ | vimānayānaprāsādair yaś ca saṅkulam ambaram | yaś cāpy anirmalaṃ mūrttim antarikṣe prapaśyati | dhūmanīhāravāsobhir āvṛtām iva medinīm | pradīptam iva lokañ ca yo vāplutam ivāmbhasā | bhūmim aṣṭāpadākārāṃ lekhābhir yaś ca paśyati | yo vā mayūrakaṇṭhābham vidhūmaṃ vahnim īkṣate || dhruvam ākāśagaṅgām vā tam bruvanti gatāyuṣaṃ | yo jyotsnādarśatoyeṣu svacchāyāṃ ca na paśyati | paśyaty ekāṅgahīnam vā vikṛtām vānyasatvajāṃ | śvakākakaṅkagṛdhrāṇāṃ pretānāṃ yakṣarākṣasāṃ | piśācoraganāgānāṃ bhūtānāṃ vikṛtān api | svasthaḥ sa labhate vyādhiṃ vyādhito mṛtyu gacchati || 0 || vraṇapraśnaṃ vraṇāsrāvaṃ kṛtyākṛtyavidhiṃ tathā | vyādhyuddeśīyam adhyāyaṃ śastrakarmāṣṭakan tathā || praṇaṣṭaśalyavijñānaṃ śalyāpanayanam eva ca | viparītavraṇajñānaṃ dūtasvapnaviparyayam | pañcendriyārthavibhrāntiṃ proktaṃ vai tṛtīyo daśaḥ || 30 ||
athātaḥ cchāyāvipratipattim adhyāyaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || śyāvā lohitikā nītikā vāpi dehinām | abhidravanti yaṃ cchāyā sa parāsur asaṃsayaṃ || hrīr apakrāmati yataḥ kāntismṛtidhṛtiśriyaḥ | akasmād yaṃ bhajante ca sa parāsur asaṃśayaṃ | yasyādharauṣṭhaṃ patitaḥ kṣiptaś corddhan tathottaraḥ | ubhau vā jāmbavābhāsau sa parāsur asaṃśayam | ā raktā daśanā yasya syāvā va syuḥ patanti vā | khāñjanapratibhā vāpi taṅ gatāyuṣam ādiśet | kṛṣṇā snigdhāvaliptā jihvā gunā ca yasya vai | karkaśā ca bhaved yasya so cirād vijahāty asūn | kuṭilā sphuṭitā vāpi śūnā vā yasya nāsikā | bhagnā vā sphurate vāpi sa parāsur asaṃsayaḥ | saṃkṣipte viṣame stabdhe rakte supte ca locane | yasya syātāṃ śrute vāpi sa parāsu asaṃśayaṃ | na dhārayati yaḥ śīrṣan nāharanty annam āsyagaṃ | ekāgradṛṣṭimūḍhātmā sa parāsu yasaṃśayaṃ | balavān durbalo vāpi saṃmohaṃ yo ddhigacchati | utthāpyamāno bahusaḥ sa parāsur asaṃ śayaḥ | uttānaḥ sarvadā śete pādau vikurute ca yaḥ | viprasāraṇaśīlo vā sa parāsur asaṃśayaḥ | śītapādakarocchvāsaḥ cchinnāsvāsaś ca yo bhavet | kākocchvāsaś ca yo martyaḥ sa parāsur asaṃśayaṃ | nidrā na cchidyate yasya yo vā jāgartti sarvadā | muhyed vā vaktukāmaś ca pratyākhye yaḥ sa jānatā | parilihed uttaroṣṭham uṅgarāṃś ca karoti vā | pretair vā bhāṣate sārdhaṃ sa parāsur asaṃśayaḥ | khebhyaḥ saromakūpebhyo yasya raktaṃ pravarttate | puruṣasyāviṣārttasya sa parāsur asaṃśayaṃ | vātāṣṭhīlā tu hṛdaye yasyorddham anuyāyinī | rujānnavidveṣakarī sa parāsur asaṃśayaṃ | ananyopadravakṛtaḥ pādaḥ śophasamutthitaḥ | puruṣaṃ hanti nārīñ ca mukhajo guhyajo dvayaṃ | atīsāro jvaro dhmānañ chardiḥ sūnāṅgameḍhratā | kāsina svāsino vāpi yasya taṃ kṣīṇam ādiśet | svedo dāhaś ca balavāṃ hikkā svāsaś ca mānava | balavantam api prāṇair viyujanti na saṃśaya | syāvā jihvā bhaved yasya savyañ cākṣi nimajjati | mukhañ ca jāyate pūtir yasya taṃ parivarjayet | netre cāsyena pūryete svidyete caraṇau tathā | cakṣuś cākulatāṃ yāti yamarāṣṭraṃ gamiṣyataḥ | atimātra laghūni syur gātrāṇy atigurūṇi vā | yasyākasmāt sa vijñeyo gantā caiva yamālayaṃ | paṅkamatsyavasātailaghṛtagandhāṃś ca ye narāḥ | piṣṭagandhāṃś ca yo e vānti gatās te yamasādanaṃ | yūkā lalāṭam āyānti balin nāśnānti vāyasāḥ | yeṣāñ cāpi ratiṃ nāsti gatās te yamasādanaṃ | jvarātīsāraśophā syur yasyānyonyāvasādinaḥ | prakṣīṇañ ca balaṃ yasya na sa śakya cikitsituṃ | kṣīṇasya yasya kṣuttṛṣṇe hṛdyair mṛṣṭair hitais tathā | annapānair na śāsyeta tasya mṛtyur upasthitaḥ | pravāhikā śiraḥśūlaṅ koṣṭhaśūlaś ca dāruṇam | pipāsā balahāniś ca tasya mṛtyur upasthitaḥ | viṣameṇopacāreṇa karmabhiś ca purākṛtaiḥ | anityāc ca jaṃtūnāṃ jīvitan nidhanam vrajet | pretā dūtā piśācāś ca rakṣāṃsi vividhāni ca | maraṇīyan naran nityam upasarpanti sarvadā | tāni bheṣajavīryāṇi pratinighnanti sarvadā | tasmāt mohā kriyā sarvā bhavantīha gatāyuṣam iti ||31 ||
