athāto vedotpattim āadhyāyaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ| atha khalu bhagavantam amaravaram ṛṣigaṇaparivṛttam āśramasthaṃ kāśirājaṃ divodāsam dhanvantarim aupadhenavaḥ vaitaraṇorabhra puṣkalāvata karavīra gopurarakṣita bhoja suśruta prabhṛtaya ūcu bhagavacchāramānasāgantu bhi vyādhibhir vidhavedanābhighātopadrutāṃ sanāthān anāthavad viceṣṭamānān vikrośataś ca mānavān am abhisamīkṣya manasi naḥ pīḍābhavat teṣāṃ sukhaiṣiṇāṃ rogopaśamārtham ātmanaś ca prāṇayātrārtham āyuśvedam icchāma upadiśyamānam atrāyattam aihikam āmuṣmikañ ca śreyas tad bhagavantam upasannā sma śiṣyatve tān uvāca bhagavān svāgatam vaḥ sarva evāmīmāṃsyā a dhyā pyāś ca bhavaṃto vatsāḥ | iha khalv āyurvedo nāma yam upāṅgam atharvavedasyoktam anutpādyaiva ca prajāḥ ślokaśatasahasram adhyāyasahasrañ ca kṛtavān svayambhūr alpāyuṣkālpamedhastvañ cālokya narāṇām bhūyo 'ṣṭadhā praṇītavān tad yathā | śalyaṃ śālākyaṃ kācikitsā bhūtavidyā kaumārabhṛtyam agadatantraṃ rasāyanatantraṃ vyājīkaraṇatantram iti | sya pratyekāṅgalakṣaṇasamāsas tatra śalyan nāma vividha tṛṇa kāṣṭha pāṣāṇa pāṃsu loha loṣṭāsthi bāla nakha pūyāsrāva duṣṭavraṇāntargarbhaśalyoddharaṇārthaṃ yantraśastrakṣārāgnipraṇidhānaviniścayārthañ ca ṣaṣṭyābhidhnair iti | śālākyatantran nāmordhvajatrugatānāṃ vikārāṇāṃ śravaṇanayanavadanaghrāṇādisasthitānāṃ vikārāṇām upaśamakaraṇārthaṃ kāyacikītsā nāma sarvaśarīrāvasthitānāñ ca vyādhīnām upaśamakaraṇārthaṃ jvaraśophagulmaraktapittonmādāpasmārapramehātisārādīnāñ ca | bhūtavidyā nāma devagandharvakṣarākṣasapitṛpiśācavināyakanāgagrahopasṛṣṭacetasāṃ śāntikarmabaliharaṇādigrahopaśamanārthaṃ | kaumārabhṛtyan nāma kumārabharaṇadhātrīkṣīradoṣasaṃśodhanārthaṃ duṣṭastanyagrahasamutthitānāñ ca vyādhīnām upaśamakaraṇārthaṃ | agadatantran nāma sarpakīṭadaṣṭaviṣavyañjanārthaṃ vividhaviṣavego śamanārthañ ca || rasāyanatantran nāma vapaśamakaraṇārthañ ca | vyājīkaraṇatantran nāma svalpaduṣṭakṣīṇaviśuṣkaretasāṃ śukrāpyāyanaprasādopacayajanananimittaṃ praharṣajananārthañ ca | evam ayam āyurvedo 'ṣṭāṅga upadiśyate 'tra kasmai ki śalyajñānam+m alaṃkṛ+ upadiśatu bhagavān iti ka sarveṣām evaikamatīnāṃ matam abhisamīkṣya suśruto bhagavantam prakṣyaty asyopadiśyamānaṃ vayam apy upadhārayiṣyāmaḥ | sa uvācaivam astv iti | iha khalv āyurvedaprayojanaṃ vyādhyupasṛṣṭasya vyādhiparimokṣaḥ svastharakṣaṇañ cāyur asmin vidanty anena vāyur vindyata ity āyurvedas tasyāṅgavaram āgamapratyakṣānumānopamānair aviruddham ucyamānam upadhārayadhvam | etad dhy aṅgaṃ prathamaṃ pradhānaṃ prāg abhihitatvād vraṇasaṃrohaṇakaratvād yajñaśiraḥpradhānasandhānāc ca śrūyate hi yathā purā rudreṇa śiraś chinnam aśvibhyāṃ punaḥ sandhitam ity aṣṭānām api cāyurvedatantrāṇām etad evādhikam āśu kriyākaraṇād yantraśastrakṣārāgnipraṇidhānāt sarvatantrasāmānyāc ca | tad idaṃ śāśvataṃ puṇyaṃ svargaya yaśasyam āyuṣyaṃ vṛttikarañ ca | tad brahmā provāca tat prajāpatir adhijage tasmād aśvināv aśvibhyām indraḥ indrād aḥaṃ mayā tv iha pradeyam arthibhyaḥ prajāhitahetoḥ |bhavanti cātra| bhavati cātra || ahaṃ hi dhanvantarir ādidevo jarārujāmṛtyuharo marāṇāṃ | lyam mahac chāstravaraṃ gṛhītvā prāpto smi gāṃ bhūya ihopadeṣṭuṃ || tatrāsmin śāstre pañcamahābhūtaśarīrisamavāyaḥ puruṣa ity ucyate | tasmin kriyā so 'dhiṣṭhānaṃ kasmāt lokadvaividhyāl loko hi dvividhan sthāvaro jaṅgamaś ca dvividhātmaka evāgneyaḥ saumyaś ca tadbhūyastvāt pañcātmako vā | tatra caturvidho bhūtagrāmaḥ saṃsvedajādrijajarāyujāṇḍajasaṃjñās tasmis puruṣaḥ pradhānas tasyopakaraṇam anyat tasmāt puruṣo 'dhiṣṭhāna tadduḥkhasaṃyogā vyādhaya ity ucyante te caturvidhā āgantavaḥ śārīrā mānasā svābhāvikāś ceti | teṣv āgantavo 'bhighātanimittā śārīrās tv annamūlā vātapittakaphaśoṇitavaiṣamyanimittāḥ mānasās tu krodhāśokadainyaharṣakāmaviṣāderṣyāsūyāmātsaryalobhādaya icchādveṣanimittāḥ svābhāvikās tu kṣutpipāsājarāmṛtyunidrāprakṛtayaḥ ta ete manaḥśarīrādhi bhavanti | teṣāṃ lekhanabṛmhaṇasaṃśodhanasaṃśamanāhārācārāḥ samyak prayuktā nigrahahetavo bhavanti prāṇināṃ punar mūlam āhāro balavarṇaujasāñ ca sa ṣaṭsu raseṣv āyattarasāḥ punar dravyāśrayinaḥ dravyāṇi punar oṣadhyaḥ | tā dvividhā | sthāvarā jaṅgamāś ca | tāsāṃ sthāvarāś caturvidhā vanaspatayo vṛkṣā oṣadhyo vīrudha iti | tāsv apuṣpā phalavantyo vanaspatayaḥ | puṣpaphalo ye tā vṛkṣāḥ | phalapākaniṣṭhās tv oṣadhyaḥ | pratānava vīrudha iti || jaṅgamāḥ khalv api catuvidhā | jarāyujājasasvedajodbhidāḥ | iti | teṣām paśumanuṣyavyālādayo jarāyujāḥ | sṛpa sarpā s tv aṇḍajāḥ | kṛmikunthapipīlikāprabhṛtayaḥ saṃsvedajāḥ | indragopakamaṇḍūkaprabhṛtayaś codbhidāḥ | tatra sthāvarebhyas tvakpatrapuṣpaphalamūlakandakṣīraniryāsasārasnehasvarasāḥ prayojanavantaḥ | jaṅgamebhyaś carmaromanakharudhirādayaḥ || rthivas tu suvarṇṇarajatādayaḥ || kālakṛtās tu pravātanivātātapacchāyātamojyotsnāśītoṣṇavarṣāsu samplavāḥ | kālaviśeṣās tu nimeṣakāṣṭhākalāmuhūrttāhorātrapakṣamāsartvayanasamvatsarayugaviśeṣāḥ | svabhāvata eva doṣāṇāṃ sañcayaprakopopaśamapratīkārahetavo bhavanti | prayojanavantaś ca || bhavanti cātra|| śārīrāṇāṃ vikārāṇām eṣa vargaś catuvidhaḥ | prakope praśame caiva hetur uktaś cikitsakaiḥ || āgantavas tu ye rogās te dvidhā nipatanti ha| manasy anye śarīre ca teṣān tu dvividhā kriyā || śarīrapatitānāṃ tu śārīravad upakramaḥ | mānasānān tu śabdādir iṣṭo vargaḥ sukhāvahaḥ || evam etat puruṣo vyādhir auṣadhaṃ kriyā kāla iti samāsena catuṣṭayaṃ vyākhyātam bhavati | tatra puruṣagrahaṇāt tatsaṃbhavadravyasamūho bhūtādir uktaḥ | tadaṅgapratyaṅgavikalpāś ca | tvaṅmāṃsāsirāsnāyvasthisandhiprabhṛtayaḥ vyādhigrahaṇād vātapittakaphaśoṇitasannipātāgantusvabhāvanimittāḥ sarva eva vyādhayo vyākhyātā bhavanti | oṣadhagrahaṇād dravyarasaguṇavīryavipākānām ādeśaḥ | kriyāgrahaṇāt snehādīni cchedyādīni ca karmāṇy upadiṣṭāni bhavanti | kālagrahaṇāt sarva eva kriyākālādeśaḥ || bhavati cātra /> bījañ cikitsitasyaitat samāsena prakīrtitam | saviṃśam adhyāyaśatam asya vyākhyā bhaviṣyati || tac ca viṃśam adhyāyaśataṃ pañcasu sthāneṣu ceti || tatra ślokasthānanidānaśārī ibhajya uttare vakṣyāmaḥ || bhavati cātra | svayambhuvā proktam idaṃ sanātanam paṭhet tu yaḥ kāśipatiprakāśitam | sa puṇyakarmā bhuvi pūjito nṛpair asukṣaye śakrasalokatām iyād iti ||❈

athātaḥ śiṣyopanayanīyam adhyāyaṃ vyā ||

vrāhmaṇakṣatriyavaisyānām anyatamam anvayaḥ | vayaḥra vinaya śakti vala medhā dhṛti smṛti pratipattiyuktaṃ tanu jihvauṣṭha dantāgram ṛjuvaktrākṣināsaṃ prasannacittavākceṣṭaṃ kleśasahañ ca śiṣyam upanayet | sa hi guṇavān tasmai deyam ato viparītaguṇaṃ nopanayet |

śūdram api guṇavantam anupanītam adhyāpayed ity eke | upanayanīyan tu brāhmaṇaṃ praśasteṣu tithikaraṇamuhūrttanakṣatreṣu praśastāyān diśi śucau deśe gocarmamātraṃ sthaṇḍilam upalipya darbhasaṃstaraṇam ahitaṃ kṛtvā puṣpair gandhair dhūpair bhakṣyaiś ca pūjayitvā palāśodumvarabilvānāṃ samidbhir ghṛtam athaktāni dārvihaumikenāgnim upasamādhāyājyañ juhuyāt pratidevatam ṛṣibhyaḥ śiṣyaṃ svāhākāraṃ kārayet

brāhmaṇas trayāṇāṃ rājanyo dvayasya vaiśyo vaiśyasyaiva

tato 'gniṃ pariṇīyāgnisākṣikaṃ śiṣyam brūyāt | kāmakrodhalobhamohamānāhaṅkarerṣyāmātsaryaparuṣapaiśunyānṛtālasyātyayaśasyāni hitvā kāṣāyavāsasā nīcanakharomṇā trirātraṃ śucinā satyabrahmacaryābhivādanapareṇa bhavitavyaṃ mamānumatasthānagamanaśayanāsanabhojanādhyāyanapareṇa bhūtvā matpriyahiteṣu varttitavyam ato 'nyathā varttamānasyādharmo bhavaty aphalā vidyā na ca prākāśyam prāpnuyāt |

aham vā tvayi samyag varttamāne yady ananyathādarśī syāt tadaiva na saubhāgyavidyāphalabhāk ca bhaveyaṃ |

yasmād rogavatā dharmmārthakāmamokṣāḥ prāpyante |

tasmād dvijadaridrasādhvanāthābhyupagatapāṣaṇḍasthitānām ātmabāndhavānām iva ātmabheṣajaiḥ | pratikarttavyam evaṃ sādhu bhavati | vyādhasākunikapatitayāpakarttṝṇāñ ca na pratikarttavyam evaṃ vidyā prakāśate | mitra dharma kāma yaśansivāpnoti ||

bhabhavanti cātra ||

kṛṣṇāṣṭamī ttannidhane 'hanī dve śuklādaye 'py evam ahar dvisandhyaṃ | akālavidyutstanayitnughoṣe svatantrarāṣṭrakṣitipavyathāsu || śmaśānayānādhyatanāhaveṣu tathotsavotpātikadarśaneṣu | nādhyeyam anyeṣu viprā yate nāśucinā ca nityam

athāto dhyayanasampradānīyaṃ vyā || prāg abhihitaṃ saviṃśam adhyāyaśataṃ pañcasu sthāneṣu ceti || tatra ślokasthāne adhyāyāḥ ṣaṭcatvāriṃśat | ṣoḍaśa nidānāni | daśa śārīrāṇi | catvāriśac cikitsitāni | aṣṭau kalpāḥ || bhavaṃti cātra || vedotpattiḥ śiṣyanayas tathādhyayanadānikaḥ | prabhāṣaṇāgraharaṇaḥ | ṛtucaryātha yāntrikaḥ | śastrāvacāraṇaṃ yogyā viśikhā kṣārakalpanaṃ | agnikarmajalaukākhyāv adhyāyau raktavarṇṇanaṃ | doṣadhātumalādyānāṃ vijñānādhyāya eva ca | karṇṇavyatha āmapakvam ālepo vraṇitāsanaṃ | hitāhito vraṇapraśno vraṇāsrāvaś ca yaḥ smṛtaḥ | kṛtyākṛtyavidhir vyādhisamuddeśīya eva ca | viniścayaḥ śastravidhau pranaṣṭajñānikas tathā | śalyoddhṛtir vraṇajñānaṃ dūtasvapnanidarśanaṃ | paṃcendriyan tathā chāyā svabhād vaikṛtopi ca | vāraṇo yuktasenīya āturakramamiśrakau | bhūmibhāgo dravyagaṇāḥ saṃśuddhau śamane ca yaḥ | dravyādīnāñ ca vijñānaṃ viśeṣe dravyage paraḥ | rasajñānaṃ vamanārtham adhyāyo recanasya ca | dravadravyavidhis tadvad annapānavidhiḥ śubhaḥ | sūcanāt sūtraṇāc caiva sādhanāc cārthasantateḥ | ṣaṭcatvārimśad adhyāyaṃ sūtrasthānam pracakṣate || vātavyādhikam arśāmśi sāśmariś ca bhagandaraḥ kuṣṭhamehodarā mūḍha vidradhyaḥ parisarpaṇaṃ | granthivṛddhikṣudraśūkabhagnāś ca mukharaugikaṃ | hetulakṣaṇanirdeśān nidānānīti ṣoḍaśa || bhūtacintā rajaḥśuddhir garbhāvakrāntir eva ca | garbhasya ca vyākaraṇaṃ śarīrasya ca yat smṛtaṃ | pratyekam armanirdeśaḥ sirāvarṇṇanam eva ca | sirāvyadho dhamanīnāṃ garbhiṇyā vyākṛtis tathā | nirdiṣṭāni daśaitāni śārīrāṇi maharṣiṇāṃ | vijñānārthaṃ śarīrasya bhiṣajāṃ yoginām api || dvivraṇīyo vraṇe sadyo bhagnānāṃ vātarogikaṃ | mahāvātikam arśānsi sāśmariś ca bhagandaraḥ | kuṣṭhānāṃ mahatāñ cāpi maihikam paiḍikan tathā | madhumehicikitsā ca tathā codariṇām api | mūḍhagarbhacikitsā ca vidrathīnām visarpiṇāṃ | granthīnām vṛddhyudaṃśānāṃ tathā ca kṣudrarogikaṃ | śūkadoṣacikitsā ca tathā ca mukharogiṇāṃ | śophasyānāgatānāñ ca niṣedho miśrakan tathā | vyājīkarañ ca yatkṣīṇe sarvābādhaśamo pi ca | medhāyuṣkaraṇañ cāpi svabhāvāc ca nivāraṇaṃ | nivṛttasantāpakaraṃ kīrtitañ ca rasāyanaṃ | snehopayogikaḥ svedāḥ vamane savirecane | tayor vyāpac ci
nāmarthavaśātteṣān tadvidyebhya eva vyākhyāna stre sarvaśāstrāṇām avarodhaḥ karttum̐ śakya iti || 6 || śāstram ekam adhīyāno na vidyāc chāstraniścayaṃ | tasmād vahuśrutaḥ śāstraṃ vijānīyāc cikitsakaḥ | śāstraṃ gurumukhodgīrṇṇam ādāyopāsya cāsakṛt | yaḥ karma kurute vaidyaḥ sa vaidyo 'nye tu taskarāḥ || opadhenavam aurabhraṃ sauśrutam pauṣkalāvataṃ | śeṣāṇāṃ śalyatantrāṇāṃ mūlāny etāni nirddiśed iti || ❈ || 4 ||
athāto 'gropaharaṇīyam adhyāyaṃ vyā || trividhaṃ karmma pūrvakarma pradhānakamma paścātkarmeti | tad vyādhim pratyupadekṣyāmaḥ | asya tu śāstrasya śastrakarmaprādhānyātrvaṃ śastrasambhārān evopadekṣyāmaḥ | tac ca śastrakarmāṣṭavidham bhavati | tad yathā | chedyaṃ bhedyaṃ lekhyaṃ vedhyam eṣyam āhāryaṃ visrāvyaṃ sīvyam it yato 'nyat karma cikīrṣuṇā pūrvam evopakalpayitavyāni bhavanti | tad yathā yantraśastrakṣārāgniśalākāpicuplotapatrasūtraghṛtamadhupayastailatarpaṇakaṣāyālepanakalkaśītodakavyajanakaṭāhādīni parikarmiṇaś ca snigdhā sthirā balavantaḥ | tataḥ praśasteṣu tithikaraṇamuhūrttanakṣatreṣu dadhyakṣatānnapānaratnair viprāṃś cārcayitvā kṛtabalimaṅgalasvastivācanaṃ bhuktavantam āturaṃ prāṅmukham upaveśya yantrayitvā marmasirāsnāyusandhyasthidhamanīḥ pariharan nanu lomaṃ śastran nidadhyād āpūyadarśanāt sakṛd evopaharec chastram āśu ca | mahatsv api ca pākeṣu dvyaṅgulatryaṅgulāntaram vā śastrapadam uktaṃ || tatrāyato viśālaḥ samaḥ suvibhakta iti vraṇāḥ || ekena vā vraṇena na viśuddhyati tato 'parāṃ buddhyāpekṣāntaraṃ vraṇāṅ kuryāt || bha āyataś ca viśālaś ca suvibhakto nirāśrayaḥ | prāptakālakṛtaś caiva vraṇāḥ karmaṇi śasyate || śauryam āśukriyā tīkṣṇaṃ śastram asvedavepathuḥ | asammohaś ca vaidyasya śastrakarmaṇi pūjyate || yato yato gatiṃ vidyād utsaṅgo yatra yatra ca | tatra tatra varṇaṃ kuryād yathā doṣo na tiṣṭhati || tatra bhrūgaṇḍalalāṭākṣipuṭakakṣāvaṃkṣṇeṣu tiryakcheda uktaḥ | anyathā tu sirāsnāyukṣaṇanād atimātraṃ | vedanācirāc ca vraṇasaṃroho māṃsakandīprādurbhāvaś ca bhavati | mūḍhagarbhodarāśmarībhagandaramukharāgeṣv abhuktavatāṃ kurvītaḥ tataḥ śastram avacārya śītābhir adbhipariṣicyar ātur amāśvāsya ca samantāt paripīḍyāṃgulyā vraṇam abhimṛjya prakṣālya kaṣāyeṇa plotenodakam ādāya tilakalkamadhu gāḍhāṃ varttim praṇidhāya patreṇācchādya kavalikān datvā bandhanopapādayet | vedanaārakṣoghnair dhūpayitvā guggulvagarusarjjarasavacāgaurasarpalavaṇanimbapatrājyaśeṣeṇa cāsya prāṇāṃ samālabheta | udakumbhāc cāpo gṛhītvā prokṣayan rakṣākarmma kuryāt || kṛtyānām parirakṣārtha tathā rakṣobhayasya ca rakṣākarmma kariṣyāmi brahmā tad anumanyatāṃ | nāgā piśācā gandharvā yakṣarakṣaṃsy atha grahāḥ | abhidravanti ye ye tvā brahmādyāḥ ghnantu tāṃ sadā | pṛthivyām antarikṣe ca ye caranti niśācarāḥ | dikṣu vāstuni ye cānye pāntu tvā te namaskṛtāḥ | pāntu tvām ṛṣayo brahmavidyā rājarṣayas tathā | parvatāś caiva nadyaś ca sarvāḥ sarve ca sāgarāḥ | agnī rakṣatu te jihvāṃ prāṇaṃ vāyus tathaiva ca | somo vyānam apānan te parjanyaḥ parirakṣatu | udānam vidyutaḥ pāntu samānaṃ stanayitnavaḥ | balam indro balapatir matim vācaspatis tathā | kāmān te pāntu gandharvās satvam indro 'bhirakṣatu | prajñān te varuṇo rājā samudro nābhimaṇḍalaṃ | cakṣuḥ sūryo diśaḥ śrotraṃ candramā pātu te manaḥ | nakṣatrāṇi sadā rūpaṃ chāyām pātu niśā tava | retas tv āpyāyayaṃ tv āpo roṇy auṣadhayas tathā | ākāśaṅ khāni te pātu dehan tava vasundharā | vaiśvānaraḥ śiraḥ pātu viṣṇus tava parākramaṃ | pauruṣam puruṣaśreṣṭho brahmātmānaṃ bhruvau dhruvaḥ | etā dehe viśeṣeṇa tava nityā hi devatāḥ | etās tāḥ satataṃ pāntu diśantu ca nirāmayaṃ | etair vedātmakair mantraiḥ | kṛtyavyādhivināśanaiḥ | mayaivaṃ kṛtarakṣas tvan dīrgham āyur avāpnuhi || tataḥ kṛtarakṣakarmam āturam agāram praveśyācārikam upadiśet tatas tṛtīye 'hani vimucyaivam eva badhnīyān na cainaṃ tvaramāṇo paredyur mokṣayet dvitīyadivasamokṣaṇād vigrathito vraṇaḥ cirād upasaṃrohaty ugrarukta bhavati || ata urdhvaṃ doṣakālabalādīn avekṣya kaṣāyālepanabandhāhārād vidadhyān na cainaṃ tvaram āraṇaḥ sāntardoṣaṃ rohayet | sa hy alpenāpy apacāreṇābhyantaram utsaṅgaṅ kṛtvā bhūyo vikaroti | tasmāt suśuddhaṃ bahirabhyantarataś ca vraṇaṃ saṃrohayet | rūḍhe py ajīrṇṇavyāyāmavyavāyādīn vivarjjayet || bha || hemante ca vasante ca śiśire cāpi mokṣayet | tryahā dvyahāc charadgrīṣmavarṣāsv api ca buddhimāṃ | atipātiṣu rogeṣu nekṣetainaṃ vidhiṃ bhiṣak | pradīptād gāravac chīghraṃ tatra kuryāt pratikriyāṃ | yā vedanāśastranipātajātā tīvrā śarīre pratanoti jantoḥ | ghṛtena sā śāntim upaiti neti || hya ||
athāto ṛtucaryaṃ vyāvyākhyāsyāmaḥ || kālo hi bhagavāṃ svayambhur anādimadhyanidhano 'tra rasavyāpatsampattayo jīvitamaraṇe ca manuṣyāṇām āyatte ssa sūkṣmām api kalān na līyata iti kālaḥ | saṅkalayati kalayati vā bhūtānīti kālaḥ | tasya samvatsarātmano bhagavān ādityo gativiśeṣeṇa nimeṣakāṣṭhākalāmuhūrttāhorātrapakṣamāsartvayanasamvatsarayugapravibhāgaṃ karoti | tatra laghvakṣinipātamātro nimeṣaḥ | pañcadaśa nimeṣā kāṣṭhā triṅśat kāṣṭhā kalā | viṅśati kalā muhūrttaḥ kalāyāḥ daśabhāgaś ca | triṃśat muhūrttam ahorātraṃ | pañcadaśāhorātraḥ pakṣaḥ | sa dvividhaḥ kṛṣṇaḥ śuklaś ca tau māsaḥ | tatra māghādayo dvādaśa māsāḥ samvatsaraḥ | dvimāsikam ṛtuṅ kṛtvā ṣaḍ ṛtavo bhavanti || te ca śiśiravasantagrīṣmavarṣāśaraddhemantāḥ | teṣān tapastapasyau śiśiraḥ | madhumādhavau vasantaḥ | śuciśukrau grīṣmaḥ nabhonabhasyau varṣā | iṣorjau śarat | sahassahasyau hemanta iti | ta ete śītoṣṇavarṣavātalakṣaṇāḥ | candrādityayoḥ kālavibhāgakaratvād ayane dve bhavataḥ | dakṣiṇam uttarañ ca | tayor dakṣiṇam varṣāśaraddhemantāḥ teṣu bhagavān āpyāyate somaḥ | āmlalavaṇamadhurāś ca rasā balavanto bhavanti | uttarottarañ ca sarvaprāṇināṃ balam abhivarddhate | uttaraṃ śiśiravasantagrīṣmāḥ | teṣu bhagavān āpyāyate 'rkaḥ | kaṭutiktakaṣāyāś ca rasā balavattarā bhavanti | uttarottaraāś ca prāṇinām balam parihīyate || bhabhavati cātra || somaḥ klodayate bhūmiṃ sūryaḥ śoṣayate punaḥ | tāv ubhāv api saṃśritya vāyuḥ pālayati prajāḥ || atha khalv ayane yugapat samvatsasaro bhavati | te dve ayane varṣasamvatsaraḥ parivatsaraḥ iḍāvatsaraḥ vatsara ity evaṃ paṃca pañca varṣāni || te pañca yugam iti saṃjñā labhante sa eṣa nimeṣādir yugaparyantaḥ kālaś cakravat parivarttamānaḥ kālacakra ity ucyate | evaṃ dakṣiṇāyane rātrir vyākhyātā || iha tu varṣāśaraddhemantavasantagrīṣmaprāvṛṣaḥ ṣaḍṛtavo bhavanti | doṣopacayaprakopapraśamanimittaṃ | te tu bhādrapadādyair dvimāsike naivaṃ vyākhyātāḥ | tadyathā | bhadrapadāśvayujau varṣāḥ kārttikamārgaśīrṣau śarat | pauṣamāghau hemantaḥ | phālgunacetrau vasantaḥ | vaiśākhajyeṣṭhau grīṣmaḥ | āṣāḍhaśrāvaṇau prāvṛḍ iti || tatra varṣāsv auṣadhyas taruṇyo lpavīryā āhāratvam upagatā vidahyante | āpaś cāpraśāntāḥ kṣitimalaprāyāstās tās tūpayujyamānā nabhasi meghāvatate jalapraklinnāyāṃ bhūmau klinnadehānāṃ dehināṃ śītavātavarṣaviṣṭambhitāgnīnāṃ vidahyante | sa vidāhāt pittasañcayam āpādayanti | sa sañcayaḥ śaradi praviralameghe viyaty upaśuṣyati paṅke rkakiraṇapravilāyitaḥ paittikāṃ vyādhīṃ janayati | tā evauṣadhyaḥ kālapariṇāmāt pariṇatavīryā balavatyo hemante bhavanti | āpaś ca praśāntāḥ snigdhā atyarthaṃ gurvyastā upayujyamānāḥ mandakiraṇatvād bhānos satuṣāraupaṣṭambhitadehānāṃ dehinām avidagdhāḥ snehād gauravād upalepitvāc ca śleṣmaṇas sañcayam āpādayanti | sa saṃcayo vasante rkakiraṇapravilāyitaḥ śleṣmikāṃ vyādhīṃ janayati | tā evauṣadhyau grīṣmaniḥsārā rūkṣā atimātralaghvyo bhavaty āpaś ca tā upayujyamānāḥ( tatra śaraddhemantayor madhyasamam ahorātraṃ yugapac cādhimāsakau bhavataḥ | viṃśatikāṣṭhāś caikanimeṣārdhaś ca dinapariparivṛddhir uttarāyaṇe | sūryapratāpopaśoṣitadehānān dehināṃ raukṣyāl laghvāc ca vāyoḥ sañcayam āpādayanti | sa sañcayaḥ prāvṛṣi cātyarthaṃñ jalopaklinnāyāṃ bhūmau tiklinnadehānāṃ dehināṃ śītavātavarṣerito vātikāṃ vyādhīṃñ janayati | evam eṣāṃ doṣāṇāṃ sañcayaprakopahetur uktaḥ | tatra varṣāhemantagrīṣmeṣu sañcitānān doṣāṇāṃ śaradvasantaprāvṛṭsu ca prakupitānāṃ nirharaṇaṃ | tatra paittikānāṃ vyādhīnāṃ hemante vyupaśamaḥ | śleṣmikāṇān nidāghe vātikānāṃ śaradi | svabhāvatas tv ete sañcayaprakopaśamā vyākhyātāḥ || tatra divasapūrvāhṇe vasantaliṅgaṃ | madhyāhne grīṣmasya | aparāhṇe prāvṛḍliṅgaṃ | pradoṣe vārṣikaṃ | śāradam ardharātre | pratyuṣasi haimanam upalakṣayet | evam ahorātram api varṣam iva śītoṣṇavarṣadoṣopacayaprakopopaśamair jānīyāt tatrāvyāpanetuṣv avyāpannā oṣadhayo bhavanty āpaś ca | tās tūpayayujyamānāḥ prāṇāyurbalavīryaujaskaryo bhavanti | tāsām punar vyapado dṛṣṭakāritāni śītoṣṇavātavarṣāṇi | khalu viparītāny auṣadhīr vyāpādayanty āpaś ca | tāsām upayogād vividharogaprādurbhāvo marako vā bhavati | śāparakṣaḥkrodhād adharmair uṣasyante janapadāḥ | viṣauṣadhipuṣpagandhena vā vāyunopanītena | kāsaśvāsapratiśyāyaśirorogajvarair upatapyante prajāḥ grahanakṣatracaritair vā | śayanāsanayānavāhanamaṇiratnopakaraṇagarhitalakṣaṇaprādurbhāvair vā jāto 'tra | parityāga śānti prāyaścitta bali maṅgala japa homopahārejyāñjali namaskāra tapo niyama dayā dāna dīkṣābhyupagama devatā brāhmaṇa guru parair bhavitavyam evaṃ sādhu bhavati || bhabhavati cātra svaguṇair api yukteṣu viparīteṣu vā punaḥ | viṣameṣv api vā doṣā kupyanty ṛtuṣu dehinām iti |||| bhra ||
athāto yantravidhim adhyāyaṃ vyākhyā || tvahyaṃ sasandhiśrotaḥ snāyvasthikoṣṭhagataśalyāddharaṇārtham upadiśyate | yantraśatam ekottaram atra hastayantram eva pradhānatamaṃ yantrāṇām avagaccha tadadhīnatvād yantrakarmaṇāṃ | tatra manaḥ śarīrābādhakarāṇi śalyāni teṣāmāharaṇopāyo yantrāṇi tāni ṣaṭprakārāṇi bhavanti | tadyathā | svastikayantrāṇi | sandamśayantrāṇi | tāḍayantrāṇi | nāḍīyantrāṇi | śalākāyantrāṇi | upayantrāṇi ceti || tatra caturvimśati svastikayantrāṇi | dve sandamśayantre | dve eva tāḍayayantre || viṃśatirnāḍyaḥ aṣṭāviṃśati śalākāḥ | pañcaviṃśati rupayantrāṇīti | tāni prāyaśo lohāni bhavanti | tat pratirūpakāṇi vā tad alābhe tatra nānāprakārāṇāṃ vyāḍānām mṛgapakṣiṇām mukhair mukhāni yantrāṇāṃ prāyaśaḥ sadṛśāni bhavanti | tasmāt sārūpyād āgamād upadeśād anyatra darśanāt | yuktitaś ca kārayet samāhitāni yantrāṇi | kharaślakṣṇamukhāni ca | sudṛḍhāni surūpāṇi | sugraāhāṇi ca kārayet || svastikayantrāṇyaṣṭādaśāṅgulāni | siṃhavyāghratarakṣvṛkṣakadvīpimārjjāraśṛgālamṛgervārukākakaṅkakuraracāsabhāsa śaśaghātyulūkacīrillaśyenagṛddhrotkrosabhṛṅgarājāñjalikakarṇṇāvabhañjananandīmukhamukhāni | masūrākṛtibhiḥ kīlair avabaddhāni | mūleṅkuśavadāvṛttavāraṅgāni | asthividaṣṭaśalyoddharaṇārtham upadiśyante | sanigrahānugrahau sandaṃśau ṣoḍaśāṅgulau | tvaṅmānsasirāsnāyugataśalyoddharaṇārtham upadiśyete | tāḍayantre dve |dvādaśāṅgule matsyanālakavadekanāladvike karṇṇanāsāsrotogataśalyoddharaṇārtham | nāḍīyantrāṇy anekaprakārāṇy anekaprayojanāny anekatomukhāny ubhayatomukhāni | srotogatagalaśalyoddharaṇārthaṃ kriyāsaukaryārtham ācūṣaṇārthaṃ rogadarśanārthañ ca | tāni srotodvārapariṇāhāni yathāyogadīrghāṇi bhavanti | tatra bhagandarārśor budavraṇabastyuttarabastimūtravṛddhidakodaradhūmaniruddhaprakaśasanniruddhagudayantrāṇy alābūśṛṅgayantrāṇi copariṣṭād vakṣyāmaḥ | śalākāyantrāṇy api nānāprakārāṇi nānāprayojanāni yathāyogapariṇāhapradīrghāṇi bhavanti | teṣāṅ gaṇḍūpadaśarapuṅkha | sarppahanu | baḍiśamukhe dve dve | eṣaṇavyūhanacālanāharaṇārtham upadiśyante | masūradalamātramukhe dve kiñcid ānatāgre srotogataśalyoddharaṇārtham ṣaṭkārppāsakṛtoṣṇīṣṇāṇi | pramārjanakriyāsu | kṣārauṣadhapraṇidhānārthantrīṇi darvyākṛtīni khallamukhāni | jāmbvaṃkuśavadanāny agnikarmāṇi trīṇi triṇi | nāsārbudaharaṇārthamekaṃ kolāsthidalamātraṃ khallatīkṣṇoṣṭhaṃ | añjanārthamekaṃ kalāyaparimaṇḍalamubhayato mukulāgraṃ | mūtramārgaviśuddhyarthamekaṃ mālatīpuṣpavṛntāgrapramāṇaparimaṇḍalamiti || upayantrāṇy api rajjuveṇikācarmāntarvalkalalatāvastrāṣṭhīlāṣmantakamudgarapāṇipādatalāṅgulijihvādantanakhamukhabālāśmaśākhā ṣṭhīvanapravāhaṇaharṣāmaskārttagatāni kṣārāgnibheṣajāni ceti || etāni dehe sarvasmiṃ dehasyāvayave tathā sandhau koṣṭhe dhamanyā ca yathāyogaṃ prayojayet || yantrakarmāṇi tu duṣṭavraṇabandhanavyañjanavarttanabhrāmaṇapīḍanatāḍananivaraṇavivaraṇasīvaṇamārgaśodhanavikarṣaṇāharaṇāñchanonnamanavirecabhañjanonmathanacūṣaṇaiṣaṇadāraṇaṛjūkaraṇaprakṣālanapradhamanapramārjanāni caturviṃśati bhavanti || svabudhyā vibhajed yantrayantrakarmāṇi buddhimān | asaṅkhyeyavikalpatvāc chalyānām iti niścayaḥ || tatrātisthūlam asāram atidīrgham atihrasvam agrāhivakraṃ śithilam atyunnataṃ mṛdukīlaṃ mṛdupāśaṃ mṛdumukham iti dvādaśayantradoṣāḥ || etair doṣer vimuktaṃ tu yantram aṣṭādaśāṃgulaṃ | praśastaṃ bhiṣajā jñeyaṃ taddhi karmasu yojayet || dṛśyaṃ siṃhamukhādyais tu gūḍhaṃ kaṅkamukhādibhiḥ | śalyaṃ svastikayantrais tu nirharet tad bhiṣak chanaiḥ || vivarttate sādhvavagāhate ca gṛhṇāti gṛhyoddharate ca yasmāt | tasmāt smṛtaṅ kāṅkamukhaṃ pradhānaṃ sthāneṣu sarveṣv avikāri yac ceti || ❈ || 7 ||
athātaḥśastrāvacāraṇīyam adhyāyaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ ekaviṃśati śastrāṇi bhavanti tad yathā | maṇḍalāgrārdhamaṇḍalāgra| karapatra vṛddhipatra nakhaśastra mudrikotpalapatrakādhyardhadhāra| sūcī kuśapatrāṭāmukha śarārīmukhāntarmukha| trikurcaka| kuṭhārikā vrīhimukhārā vetrasapatra| baḍiśadanta śaṅkveṣaṇya iti || tatra maṇḍalāgram ardhamaṇḍalāgrakarapatrāṇi cchedane lekhane copadiśyante | vṛddhipatra nakhaśastra mudrikotpalapatrakādhyardhadhārāṇi bhedane cchedane copayujyante | sūcī kuṭhārikā vrīhimukhārā vetasapatrāṇi vedhane | eṣaṇy eṣaṇe | anulomāḥ karīrāḥ śastravṛttāś ca | sūcī baḍiśadanta śaṅkuś cāharaṇe | kuśapatrāṭāmukhaśarārimukhāntarmukhatrikurcakāni visrāvaṇe | sūcī sīvyana ity aṣṭavidhaḥ śastrāṇāṃ karmaṇy upayogo vyākhyātaḥ | teṣāṃ yathāyogaṃ grahaṇaṃ | karmasv eṣa śastragrahaṇasamāsaḥ | vṛddhipatran tu vṛntaphalasādhāraṇe bhāge gṛhṇīyāt | bhedanāny evaṃ sarvāṇi | vṛddhipatravad ardhamaṇḍalāgraṃ kiṃcid uttānapāṇinā lekhane bahuśo vacārya vṛntāgreṇa visrāvaṇāni | viśeṣeṇa tu bālavṛddhasukumārabhīrunārīṇāṃ rājñāṃ rājamātrāṇāṃ vā trikurcakena visrāvayet | talapracchādita vṛntāgram aṅguṣṭhapradeśinībhyāṃ vrīhimukhaṃ |kuṭhārikāṃ vāmahastagṛhītapucchāṃ dakṣiṇahastāṃguṣṭhāvaṣṭabdhayā madhyamayāṃgulyā nihanyāt tatra karapatrārāvetasapatrabaḍiśadanta śakveṣaṇīr mūle pradeśinīprayuktaṃ mudrikāsadṛśaṃ nakhākāraśastramukhañ caturvedhanaṃ sūkṣma ḍorāvabaddhaṃ mudrikāśastraṃ teṣān nāmabhir evākṛtayaḥ prāyeṇa vyākhyātāḥ | tatra nakhavardhanaiṣaṇyāv aṣṭāṃgulyau sūcyo vakṣyante | śeṣāṇi tu ṣaḍaṃgulāni tāni sugrahāṇi sudhārāṇi surūpāṇi sulohāniṇi sudhautāni samāṃcitamukhāniṇi ceti śastrasampat | tatra dhārā bhedanānāṃ māsūrī | lekhanānām ardhamāsūrī | vedhyānāṃ visrāvaṇānāñ ca kaiśikī | cchedanānām ardhakaiśikī | baḍiśadantaśaṃku natāgre | tīkṣṇakaṇṭakaprathamayavapatramukhī yavapatrā eṣaṇī gaṇḍūpadākāramukhī ceti | tatra vakraṃ | kuṇṭhaṃ khaṇḍa kharadhārātisthūlam atyalpam atidīrgham atihrasvam ity aṣṭau śastradoṣāḥ | ato viparītaguṇam ādadyād anyatra karapatrāt | tad dhi kharadhāram asthicchedanārtham | teṣān nisānī ślakṣṇaśilikā dhārāsampādanārthaṃ śālmalīphalakaṃ ceti || bhavanti cātra || yadā suniśitaṃ śastraṃ romavāhi susaṃsthitam | sugṛhītam pramāṇena tadā śastran nipātayet || anuśastrāṇi tvakkṣāra sphaṭika kāca kuravinda jalaukāgni nakhapatrāṇi śiśūnāṃ śastrabhīrūṇām anuśastrāṇi yojayet | tvakkṣārādicaturvargaṃ bhedye cchedye ca buddhimāṃ | āhārye cchedye bhedye ca nakhaṃ śakyeṣu yojayet | vidhiḥ pravakṣyate paścād agnikṣārajalaukaṃ | ye syur mukhagatā rogā netravarmagatāś ca ye | gojī śephālikā śākapatrair visrāvayet tu tān || śastrāṇy etāni matimāṃ śuddhaśaikyāyasāni tu | kārayet karaṇaprāpta karmāra karmakovida iti || ❈ || 8 ||
athāto yogyāsūtrīyamadhyāyaṃ vyā || adhigatasarvaśāstram api śiṣyaṃ yogyāṃ kārayet | cchedyādiṣu snehādiṣu karmapatham upadiśet | bahuśrutopyakṛtayogaḥ karmasvayogyo bhavati | tatra puṣpaphalālāvutrapuservārukaprabhṛtiṣu cchedyaviśeṣāṃ darśayet | utkartanāpakarttanāni copadiśet | dṛtibastiprasevakapūrṇeṣu bhedyayogyāṃ | saromṇi carmātate lekhyasya | mṛtapaśumahiṣāsvaśirāsūtpalanāleṣu vedhyasya | ghuṇopahatakāṣṭhataveṇunalanāḍīśuṣkālābumukheṣveṣyasya | panasabimbīphalamajjāmṛtapaśudanteṣvāhāryasya sūkṣmaghanavastrāntamṛducarmāntayoḥ sīvyasya | mṛduvadhramāṃsapesyutpalanāleṣu ca karṇṇasandhibandhanayogyām | pustamayapuruṣāṃgapratyaṅgeṣu bandhanayogyāṃ | ghaṭālāvumukheṣu bastivraṇabastipīḍanayogyāṃ | netrapraṇidhānabastipīḍanayoriti || bha || evam ādiṣu medhāvī yogyākarmaṇyaśeṣataḥ | yasya yasyeha sādharmyaṃ tatra yogyāñ ca kārayet || ❈ || 9 ||
athāto viśikhānupraveśanīyaṃ vyā || adhigatatantreṇopāsitatantrārthena dṛṣṭakarmaṇā kṛtayogyena śāstrārthannigadatā rājānujñātena vaidyena viśikhācaritavyā | nīcanakharomṇā śucinā śucivastraparihitena chatravatā sopānatkenānuddhataveṣeṇa sumanasā kalyāṇābhivyāhāreṇākuhakena bandhubhūtena bhūtānāṃ sahāyavatā | tato dūtanimittaśakunamaṅgalānulomyenāturagṛhamāgamyopaviśyāturamabhipaśyet spṛśetpṛcchec ca tribhiretairvijñāno pāyaiḥ | dīrghamāyuṣolpāyuṣo veditavyā | tatra dṛṣṭvāyau varṇṇavaikṛticchāyāṃ cāturasya bhiṣagjānīyāt | spṛṣṭvā śītoṣṇādīṃ sparśaviśeṣā viparītāviparītāṃ jvaraśophādīṃ | pṛṣṭvā deśaṃ kālaṃ jātisāmyamātaṅkamutpatti vedanāsamucchrāyo balābalamagniṃ vātamūtrapurīṣāṇāmapravṛttipravṛttiṃ ceti || bha || mithyādṛṣṭvā vikārā hi dū ś ca mohayeyuścikitsakaṃ || tasmāt parīkṣyaḥ satataṃ bhiṣajā siddhimicchatā | yuktito vyādhayaḥ sarve pramāṇairdarśanādibhiḥ || evam abhisamīkṣya sādhyāṃ sādhayed yāpyāṃ yāpayed asādhyānnopakrāmet | parivatsaroṣitāṃś ca vikārām prāyaśaḥ parivarjjayet | tatra sādhyā api vyādhayaḥ prāyaśo duścikitsā bhavanti | śrotriyanṛpatistrībālavṛddhabhīrudurbalavaidyavidagdhavyādhigṛhakadaridrakṛpaṇakrodhanānātmavatāt || bhavanti cātra || strībhiḥ sahāsyaṃ saṃvāsa parihāsañ ca varjayet | dattaṃ tābhir na gṛhṇīyād annād anyad bhiṣadeti || ❈ || 10 vedotpattiśiṣyadīkṣādānam adhyayanasya ca | prabhāṣaṇañ cāgraharaṃṇaṃ ṛtucaryā tathaiva ca | yantraṃ śastrāvacārañ ca yogyāsūtrīyam eva ca | viśikhānupraveśañ ca proktaṃ vai prathamo daśa || ❈ ||
athātaḥ kṣārapākavidhimadhyāyaṃ || anuśastrebhyaḥ kṣāraḥ pradhānatamo bhavati | cchedyabhedyalekhyakaraṇādviśeṣakriyāvacāraṇāc ca | tatra kṣaraṇātkṣaṇaṇādvā kṣāraḥ | nānauṣadhisamavāyāttridoṣaghnaḥ | śuklatvāt saumyas tasya saumyasyāpi sato dahanapacanadāraṇaśaktiraviruddhā | sakhalvāgneyauṣadhibhūyakaḥ | uṣṇastīkṣṇaḥ pācano vilāyanaḥ | śodhano ropaṇaḥ stambhanollekhanakrimyāmakaphaviṣamedasām upahantā puṃstvasya cātisevitaḥ | sa dvividhaḥ pratisāraṇīyaḥ | pānīyaśca tatra pratisāraṇīyaḥ | kuṣṭhakiṭibhadadrumaṇḍalakilāsabhagandarārśorbudaduṣṭavraṇanāḍīcarmakīlatilakālakanacchavyaṅgabāhyakrimiviṣādiṣu copadiśyate | saptasu ca mukharogeṣūpajihvopakuśadantavaidarbhamedajoṣṭhaprakopeṣu trisṛṣu ca rohiṇīṣu eteṣv evānuśastrapātanam uktaṃ || pānīyas tu gulmādarāgnisaṃgājīrṇṇānāhaśarkarāśmaryabhyantarakrimiviṣāśassu copayujyate || tasya vistāro nyatra arthatara cikīrṣuḥ | śaradiśucir upavasan praśastadeśajātam anupahataṃ madhyamavayasaṃ kālamuṣkakam adhivāsyāparedyuḥ pātayitvā kaṇḍasaḥ prakalpya nivātadeśe citiṅkṛtvā tilanālair ādīpayet | yathopaśāntegnau tad bhasmapṛthag gṛhṇīyāt | bhasmaśarkarāś ca || athānenaivakalpena kuṭajapalāśāśvakarṇṇapāribhadrakabibhītakāragvadhatilvakārkasnuhāpārganaktamālavṛṣakadalīcitrakendrayavṛkṣāsphotāśvamārakasaptacchadāgnimanthāḥ | catasraḥ kośātakyaḥ samūlaphalaśākhāpatrāndahettataḥ kṣāradroṇamudakadroṇaiḥ ṣaḍbhirāloḍya mūtraiś ca yathoktairmahati kaṭāhe śanaiśśanairdavyāvaghaṭṭayanvipacet sa yadā bhavatyacchoraktastīkṣṇaḥ picchilaś ca tamādāyetaraṃ saṃsṛjya punarapi pākāyādhiśrayet tata eva ca kṣārodakakuḍavamadhyardha kṛtvā panayettataḥ kaṭaśarkarābhasmaśarkarāś ca | kṣīrapakaśaṃkhanābhīragnivarṇṇāḥ kṛtvāyase pātre tasmiṃ kṣārodakebhiṣicya | piṣṭvā tathaiva ca pratīvāpo yathālābhaṃ dantīcitrakalāṅgalīpūtīkapravāḍatālapatrīviḍasauvarcikākanakakṣīrīhiṃguvacātiviṣāśuktīḥ ślakṣṇacūrṇṇaṅkṛtvā nidadhyāt | satatamapramattaś ca darvyāvaghaṭāyaṃ vipacet | sa yathā nātisāndro nātidravaś ca bhavati tathā prayateta | athainamāgatapākamavatāryānuguptamāyase kumbhe nidadhyāt | kṣīṇabale ca kṣārodakamāvapedbalakaraṇārthaṃ || bha || naivātitīkṣṇo na mṛduḥ śuklaḥ ślakṣṇoti picchilaḥ | aviṣyandī śivaḥ śīghraḥ kṣāro hyaṣṭaguṇaḥ smṛtaḥ | atyuṣṇamatipaicchilyamatitaikṣṇyavisarpitā | atyarthaṃ mārdavaṃ śaityamatyarthaṃ sāndrameva ca | hīnauṣadhyavipakvatvaṃ kṣāradoṣā na ca smṛtāḥ || tatra kṣārasādhyavyādhiṃ vyādhitam upaveśya nivātāsambādhe deśe agropaharaṇīyoktopasaṃbhārasaṃbhṛtatanoḥ | anyatamamavaghṛṣyāvalikhya pracchayitvā vā śalākayā kṣāraṃ pratisārya vākchatamātram upaikṣeta | tasmiṃ nipatite vyādhau kṛṣṇatā dagdhalakṣaṇaṃ | tatrāmlavargaḥ samanaḥ sarpirmadhusamāyutaḥ | atha ca sthiramūlatvātkṣāradagdhanna dīryate | idamālepanantatra śīghra samavacārayet | amlakāñjikabījānāṃ tilām madhukameva ca | prapiṣya samabhāgāni tenaivam anulepayet | tilakalkaḥ samadhuko ghṛtākto vraṇalepanaḥ || rasenāmlena tīkṣṇena vīryoṣṇena tathaiva ca | āgneyenanāgni sadṛśaḥ kathaṃ kṣāra praśāmyati | evaṃ cen manyase vatsa procyamānaṃ śṛṇuṣva me | amlavarjyā rasāṃ kṣāre sarvāneva vibhāvayet | kaṭukathā | amlena saha saṃyuktaḥ sutīkṣṇo lavaṇo rasaḥ | mādhūryam āśu vrajati tīkṣṇabhāvañ ca muñcati | mādhūryayogānna dahedagniragnirivāplutaḥ || tatra samyagdagdhe vikāropaśamo lāghavamanāsrāvaś ca | hīne todakaṇḍūjāḍyāni vyādhivṛddhiś ca | atidagdhe dāhapākaśramāṅgamadaklamāḥ | pipāsāmaraṇāñceti | kṣāradagdhavraṇañ ca yathādoṣaṃ yathāvyādhiṃ copakrameta | athā kṣārakṛtyā bhavanti | durbalabālasthivirabhīrusarvāṅgaśūnodarīgarbhiṇītumatīpravṛddhajvarīpramehīrūkṣakṣatakṣīṇatṛṣṇāmūrcchopadrutaklībā uddhṛtodvṛttaphalayonyaśca tathā marmasirāsnāyusandhitaruṇāsthisevanīgalanābhinakhāntarasepasrotaḥ svalpamāṃsapradeśeṣvakṣṇoś ca na dadyādanyatra varmarogāt | tatra kṣārasādhyeṣv api vyādhiṣu śūnagātramasthiśūlinamannadveṣiṇaṃ hṛdayasandhipīḍopadrutañ ca kṣāro na sādhayati || bha || viṣāgniśastrāśanimṛtyutulyaḥ kṣāro bhavatyalpamatiprayuktaḥ | satvapramattena sadā prayukto rogānnihanyādacireṇa ghorāniti || ❈ || 11 ||
athāgnikarmavidhiṃ || kṣārādagnirgarīyāṃ kriyāsu vyākhyātaāstaddagdhānāṃ rogāṇāmapunarbhavāt | svedaśastrakṣārairasakyānāṃ tatsādhanāc ca | athaimāni dahanopakaraṇāni bhavanti | pippalyajāśakṛdgodantaśaraśalākājamvvoṣṭhetaralohakṣaudraguḍasnehādīni | tatra pippalyajāśakṛdgodantaśaraśalākāḥ stvaggatānāṃ | jamvvoṣṭhetaralohāḥ māṃsagatānāṃ | kṣaudraguḍasnehāḥ sirāsnāyusandhyasthigatānā | tatrāgnikarma sarvartuṣu kuryād anyatra śaradgrīṣmābhyāṃ | tatrāpyātyayikegnisādhye vyādhau tatpratyanīkaṃ vidhiṃ kṛtvā sarvavyādhiṣvṛtuṣu ca picchilamannambhuktavataḥ | tatra dvividhamagnidagdhamāhureke | tvagdagdhaṃ māṃsadagdhañ ca | iha tu sirāsnāyuṣu sandhyasthiṣv api na pratiṣiddhogniḥ | tatra śabdaprādurbhāvo durgandhatā tvaksaṃkocaś ca tvagdagdhe | kapotavarṇṇatālpaśvayathuvedanatā śuṣkasaṃkucitavraṇatā ca māṃsadagdhe | kṛṣṇonnatavraṇatā srāvasannirodhaśca sirāsnāyudagdhe rūkṣatāruṇatākarkaśasthiravraṇatā ca sandhyasthidagdhe || tatra śirorogādhimanthayorbhrūlalāṭaśaṅkhadeśeṣu dahedvartmarogeṣvārdranaktakapraticchannāndṛṣṭiṃ kṛtvā vartmaromakūpāṃ | tvaṅmāṃsasirāsnāyusandhyasthigatamugrarujau vāyau | duṣṭavraṇamucchitakaṭhinamāṃsagagranthyarbudāpacīgalagaṇḍagṛddhrasīmasakagulmodara bhagandarārśasandhiślīpadacarmakīlatilakālakasirācchedanāḍīśoṇitātipravṛttiṣu cāgnikarma kuryāt | tatra valayabindurerekhāpratisāraṇāñceti dahaṇaviśeṣāḥ || bha || rogasya saṃsthānamavekṣya dhīmāṃnarasya marmāṇi balābalañ ca | vyādhintathartuñ ca samīkṣya samyak tato vyavasyedbhiṣagagnikarma || tatra samyagdagdheṣu madhusarpirabhyaṅgaḥ || athemāni pariharetpittaprakṛtimantaḥ śoṇitaṃ | bhinnakoṣṭhamanuddhṛtaśalyaṃ bālavṛddhabhīrudurbalamanekavyādhipīḍitamasvedyāṃś ca || ata ūrddham itarathā dagdhaṃ vakṣyāmaḥ tatra snigdhaṃ rūkṣañ cāśrityadravyam agnir dahati | atisantapto hi snehaḥ sūkṣmamārgānusāritvāt tvagādīnanupraviśyāśu dahati | tasmātsnehadagdhedhikā rujā bhavati | tatra pluṣṭaṃ durdagdhaṃ samyagdagdhamatidagdhamiti caturvidhamagnidagdhambhavati | tatra yadvivaṇṇamuṣyatetimātraṃ tatpluṣṭaṃ | yatrotptisphoṭa tīvradāhadoṣavedanā cirāccopaśāmyati taddurdagdhaṃ | samyagdagdhamanavagāḍhaṃ pakvatālavarṇṇaṃ susaṃsthitaṃ pūrvalakṣaṇasaṃyuktaṃ ca | atidagdhe tu māṃsāvalaṃbanaṃ gātraviśleṣaḥ sandhivaiguṇyaṃ sirāsnāyusandhyasthivyāpādanaṃ jvaradāhapipāsāmūrcchāścopadravā bhavanti | sa krimiścet vraṇaścāsya cireṇoparohatyuparūḍhaś ca vivarṇṇo bhavati | tad etac caturvidham agnidagdhalakṣaṇam ānupūrvyoktaṃ pūrvakarmaprasādhakaṃ bhavati || bha || agninā kopitaṃ pittaṃ bhṛśañjantoḥ pradhāvati | tatastenaiva vegena raktañcāpyupadīryate | tulyaviryepyubhe hyete rasato dravyatastathā | tenāsya vedanāstīvrā prakṛtyā ca vidahyate | sphoṭāḥ śīghraṃ prajāyante jvarastṛṣṇā ca bādhate || dagdhasyopaśamārthāya cikitsā sampravakṣyate | pluṣṭasyāgnipratapanaṃ kāryamuṣṇantathauṣadhaṃ | śarīre svinnabhūyiṣṭhe svinaṃ bhavati śoṇitaṃ | prakṛtyā hyudakaṃ śītaṃ skandayatyathaśoṇitaṃ | tasmāt sukhayati hyuṣṇa na tu śītaṃ kathañcanaḥ | śītāmuṣṇāñ ca ca durdagdhe kriyāṃ kuryāttataḥ punaḥ | ghṛtālepanasekāṃstu śītānevāsya kārayet || samyagdagdhe tu kākṣīrīplakṣacandanagairikaiḥ | sāmṛtaiḥ sarpiṣāyuktairālepaṃ kārayedbhiṣak || grāmyānūpaiḥ sajalajaiḥ piṣṭair māṃsaiś ca lepayet | pittavidradhivaccainaṃ praśāntyoṣmāṇamācaret | atidagdhe tu śīrṇṇāni māṃsāny uddhṛtya śītalāṃ kriyāṅ kuryāc cūrṇṇakāle śālitaṇḍulakaṇḍanaiḥ | tindukyās tv akkaṣāyair vā mṛdubhṛṣṭair upācaret | vraṇaṅ guḍūcīpatrair vā cchādayed athacodakaiḥ | kriyāṅ kuryāc ca nikhilāṃ bhiṣakpittavisarpavat || athedānīṃ dhūmopahatavidhānaṃ vakṣyāmaḥ | śvasity ādhmāti cātyarthaṃ kāsatekṣavate bhṛśaṃ | cakṣuṣaḥ paridāhaś ca rāgaś caivopajāyate | sadhūmakaṃ niśvasiti ghreyam anyan na veti ca | tathaiva ca rasāṃ sarvāṃ smṛtiś cāsopahanyate | tṛṣṇādāhajvaraś cetaḥ sīda
vat samyagvānteti |samyagvāntā salilasarake nyastā bhoktukāmā satī cared yā sīdati na ceṣṭate sā durvāntāṃ punaḥ samyak vāmayet | durvāntāyās tu indrapado nāma vyādhir asādhyo bhavati || aprahṛṣṭa śiraḥ pānya kāyenodveṣṭate sakṛt | yā coṣṇaṃ kurute toyaṃ tasyām idamadaḥ smṛtaḥ | athaināṃ pūrvavat sannidadhyāt | śoṇitasya ca yogāyogam avekṣya jalaukāmukhaṃ madhunāvaghaṭṭayet | badhnīta vā kaśāyamadhurasnigdhaśītaiś ca pradehaiḥ pradihyād iti || bhavati cātra || pītamātre jalaukābhir ghṛtena pariṣecayet | śoṇitasthāpanīyaiś ca śoṇitam pariṣecayet || kṣetrāṇi grahaṇañ cāpi poṣaṇaṃ sāvacāraṇaṃ jānīyād yo jalaukānāṃ sa rājñaḥ karttum arhati ||
athātaḥ śoṇitavarṇṇanīyaṃ vyāvyākhyāsyāmaḥ || pāñcabhautikasya caturvidhasyāhārasya ṣaḍrasopetasya dvividhavīryasyāṣṭavidhavīryasya vā anekaguṇopayuktasyāhārasya samyakpariṇatasya yas tejoṇabhūtaḥ sāraḥ paramasūkṣmaḥ sa rasa ity ucyate | tasya hṛdayaṃ sthānaṃ | sa hṛdayāc caturviṃśatir dhamanīr anupraviśyordhvagā daśa daśa cādhogāminyaś catasras tiryaggāḥ kṛtsnaṃ śarīram aharahas tarpayati pavati yāpayati vardhayati cādṛṣṭahetukena karmaṇā | tasya śarīram anusarato numānād gatir upalakṣayitvā kṣayavṛddhīhetukī ||guṇa tasmiṃ sarvaśarīrāvayavadoṣadhātumalāśayānusāriṇi rase jijñāsā kim ayaṃ saumyas tejasa iti | sa khalu dravatvād anusaraṇe snehanajīvanatarpaṇadhāraṇādibhir viśeṣaiḥ saumya ity avagamyate | sa khalv āpyo raso yakṛtplīhānau prāpya rāgam upaiti || bha || rañjitās tejasā tv āpaḥ śarīrasthena dehināṃ | avyāpannāḥ prasannena raktam ity eva tad viduḥ || rasād eva striyā raktam ṛtusaṃjñaṃ pravartate dvādaśād vardhate varṣād yāti pañcāśataḥ kṣayaṃ | ārttavaṃ śoṇitaṃ tv āgneyam āhuḥ || agnīṣomīyatvād garbhasya pāñcabhautikatvam apare jīvaṃ raktam āhur ācāryāḥ || bha || visratā dravatā rāgaḥ spandanan tanutā tathā | pṛthivyādiguṇāś cete dṛśyante śoṇite yataḥ | rasād raktaṃ tato māṃsaṃ māṃsān medaḥ pravarttate medaso 'sthi tato majjā majjā śukraṃ tataḥ prajāḥ || tatraiṣān dhātūnāṃm annapānarasaḥ prīṇāyitā bhavati || bha || rasajaṃ puruṣaṃ vidyād rasaṃ rakṣeta yatnataḥ | annapānaprayogena āhāreṇa suyantritaḥ || tatra rasa gato dhātur ahar ahar gacchatīti rasaḥ | pañcaviṃśati kalāmatāni | caturaśītim ca nava ca kāṣṭhā ekaikasmin dhātāv avatiṣṭhante | evam māsena rasaḥ śukrībhavati strīṇāñ cārttavam iti || bha || aṣṭādaśasahasrāṇi saṅkhyā hy asmiṃ samuccaye | kalānān navatiś cāpi svatantraparatantrataḥ || rase gativiśeṣo 'yaṃ mandāgner evam ānikaḥ | anayaivoditāgneś ca vijñeyaḥ kālasaṃkhyayā || sa śabdārcijālasantānavad aṇunā viśeṣeṇānusaraty evaṃ śarīraṃ kevalaṃ vyājīkaraṇyas tv auṣadhyaḥ svaguṇabalātkarṣād virecanavad upayuktāḥ śukraṃ virecayanti || yathā hi puṣpamukulastho gandho na śakyam ihāstīti vaktuṃ | naiva nāstīti atha cāsti satāṃ bhāvānām utpattir iti kṛtvā kevalaṃ tu saukṣmyān nābhivyajyate | sa eva vivṛte keśare puṣpa kālāntareṇābhivyakto bhavati | evam bālānām api vayaḥ pariṇāmāc śukraprādurbhāvo bhavati | romarājyārttavādiś ca viśeṣo nārīṇāṃ | sa evānnaraso 'bhivṛddhānāṃ paripakvaśarīratvād aprīṇāno bhavati | ta ete śarīdhāṇāraṇād dhātava ity ucyante | teṣāṃ kṣayavṛddhī śoṇitanimitte | tasmāt tad adhikṛtya vakṣyāmaḥ|| tatra saphenilam aruṇaṃ kṛṣṇaṃ paruṣaṃ tanu śīghragam askandi ca vātaduṣṭaṃ | nīlam pītaṃ haritaṃ śyāvaṃ viśram aniṣṭaṃ pipīlikāmakṣikāṇāñ ca pittena | gairikodakaprakāśaṃ snigdhaṃ śītaṃ vahalaṃ picchilaṃ viśrāvi māṃsapeśīsamaprabhaṃ ca śleṣmaṇā | sarvalakṣaṇayuktaṃ sannipātena | pittavad raktenātikṛṣṇañ ca | dvidoṣaliṅgasaṃsṛṣṭaṃ dvidoṣaṃ | indragopakaprakāśam asaṃhatam avivarṇṇañ ca prakṛtistham iti jānīyāt || visrāvyān anyatra vakṣyāmaḥ || athāvisrāvyāḥ sarvāṅgaśophaḥ kṣīṇasya vā cāmlabhojananimittaḥ pāṇḍurogyarśasyudariśoṣigarbhiṇīnāñ ca svayathavaḥ | tatra ṛjv asaṃkīrṇṇaṃ sūkṣmaṃ samam anavagāḍham anuttānam āśu śastrañ ca pātayet | hṛdaya basti guda nābhi kakṣyavaṅkṣaṇākṣi kūṭa pāṇi pādatalāṃś ca varjayet | pūyagarbhāṃ punar yathoktair evopacaret | tatra durvaddhe śītavātayor asvinne bhukte ca skannatvāc choṇitaṃ na sravati | alpaṃ vā sravati || bha || cātra vāta viṅ mūtrasaṃgeṣu madamūrcchāśrameṣu ca | nidrābhibhūte śīte vā nṛṇān nāsṛk sraved iti || tad duṣṭaśoṇitam anirhriyamāṇaṃ vyādhivṛddhiṃ karoti | atyuṣṇātisvinnātividdheṣv ajñasrāvitam atipravarttate | tad atipravṛttaṃ śirobhitāpam āndhyatimiraprādurbhāvam dhātukṣayākṣepakasya pakṣāghātam ekāṅgavikāraṃ hikkāṃ kāsaṃ śvāsaṃ pāṇḍurogaṃ vāśu karoti | tan nātiśīte nātyuṣṇe nāsvinne nātitāpite yavāgūṃ pratipītasya śoṇitaṃ mokṣayed bhiṣak || samyag gatvā yadā raktaṃ svayam evāvatiṣṭhate śuddham evam vijānīyāt samyag visrāvitañ ca tat | lāghavaṃ vedanāśāntir vyādhivegaparikṣayaḥ | samyagvisrāvite liṅgaṃ prasādo manasas tathā | tvagdoṣā granthayaḥ śophā rogāḥ śoṇitajāś ca ye | raktamokṣaṇaśīlānāṃ na bhavanti kadācana || atha khalv apravarttamāne | elā śītaśivaḥ kuṣṭhatagarapāṭhābhadradāruviḍaṃgacitrakatrikaṭukāgāradhūmaharidrārkāṅkunaktamālaphalai yathālābhaṃ tribhiś caturbhiḥ | samastair vā lavaṇapragāḍhair vraṇamukha gharṣayed evaṃ sādhu bhavati || athātipravṛtte lodhramadhukapriyaṅgupattāṅgagairikarasāñjanaśaṃkhaśuktiyavamāṣagodhūmasarjarasacūrṇṇair anārdrair vraṇamukham avacūrṇṇāṅgulyagreṇāvapīḍayet | sālasarjārjunārimedagranthidhavadhanvanatvagbhi vā cūrṇṇīkṛtābhiḥ kṣaumeṇa vadhyāsitena samudraphenena lākṣācūrṇṇair vā yathoktair bandhanadravyair gāḍhaṃ bandhīyāt | vyadhānantaraṃ punar vyadhayet | śītācchādanabhojanāgārapariṣekaiḥ śītair ālepaiḥ pradahair vāpacared agninā vā dahed yathoktaṃ kākolyādikvāthaṃ vā śarkarāmadhumadhuraṃ pācayet | eṇahariṇor abhraṃ mahiṣaśaśavarāhāṃṇāṃ vā rudhiraṃ kṣīrayūṣaṃ rasaiś cāśnīyāt | upadravāṃś ca yathoktān upacaret || bha || dhātukṣayāt srute rakte mandaḥ sañjāyate 'nalaḥ | pavanaś ca paraṅ kopaṃ yāti tasmāt prayatnataḥ | tan nātiśītair laghubhiḥ snigdhaiḥ śoṇitavardhanaiḥ | īṣad amlair anamlair vā bhojanaiḥ samupācaret || caturvidhaṃ yad etad dhi rudhirasya nivāraṇaṃ | sandhānaṃ skandanaṃ caiva pācanaṃ dahanaṃ tathā || vraṇaṃ kaṣāyaḥ sandhatte raktaṃ skandayate himaṃ | tathā sampācayed bhasma dāhaḥ saṅkocayet sirāṃ || askandamāne rudhire sandhānāni prayojayet | sandhānair bhraśyamāne tu pācanaiḥ samupācaret | kalpair ebhis tribhir vaidyaḥ prayateta yathāvidhiḥ | asiddhimatsu caiteṣu dāha parama iṣyate | saśeṣadoṣe rudhire na vyādhir ativarttate | na śeṣaṃ sthāpayet tasmān na ca kuryād atikriyāṃ | dehasya rudhiraṃ mūlaṃ rudhireṇaiva dhāryate | tasmād rakṣed dhi rudhiraṃ rudhirañ jīva ucyate | śrutaraktasya sekādyaiḥ śītaiḥ prakupite 'nile śophaṃ satodaṃ koṣṇena sarpiṣā pariṣecayed iti || 14 || ❈ ||
athāto doṣadhātumalakṣayavṛddhiṃ vyā || doṣadhātumalamūlaṃ hi śarīraṃ | tasmātphalalakṣaṇameteṣām upadhārayaś ca | tatra spandanodvahanapūraṇavivekadhāraṇalakṣaṇo vāyuḥ pañcadhā pravibhaktaḥ śarīrantantrayati | rāgaḥ paktistejaūṣmakṛtpittaṃ | sandhisaṃśleṣaṇasnehanaropaṇabṛṃhaṇaḥ śleṣmā | rasaḥ prīṇayati | raktañjīvayati | māṃsaṃ lepayati medaḥ snehayati | asthi dhārayati | majjā pūrayati | bījārthaharṣakṛc chukraṃ kledayati | bastikle da kṛn mūtraṃ | prāṇavāyvagnidhāraṇāvaṣṭambhakṛt purīśaṃ | svedaḥ kledayati | garbhalakṣaṇamārttavaṃ | stanyaṃ stanāpīnajananajīvanam iti | tatra vidhivat parirakṣaṇaṃ kurvīta || ataḥ sarveṣāṃ kṣayalakṣaṇaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ | tatra vātakṣaye mandaceṣṭatā alpavāktvamalpapraharṣo mūḍhasañjñatā ca | pittakṣaye mandoṣmāgnitāniṣprabhatā ca | śleṣmakṣaye rūkṣatāntardāhaāmāśayetarāśayaśūnyatāśirasaś ca | tatra svayonivardhanāny eva pratīkāraḥ || rasakṣaye hṛdayapīḍā kampaḥ śoṣaḥ śūnyatā tṛṣṇā ca | śoṇitakṣaye tvakpāruṣyam amlaśītaprārthanā sirāśaithilyañ ca || māṃsakṣaye sphiggaṇṇḍauṣṭhopasthoruvakṣaḥ kakṣaśuṣkatā dhamanīnāñ ca śaithilyaṃ | medakṣaye plīhābhivṛddhiḥ sandhiśūnyatā raukṣyaṃ meduramāṃsaprārthanā ca | asthikṣaye asthiśūlo dantanakhabhaṃraukṣyañ ca | majjākṣaye lpaśukratā parvabhedo sthitodaḥ śūnyatā | śukrakṣaye meḍhravṛṣaṇavedanāśaktir maithune cirād vā prasekaḥ praseke cālpaśukraraktadarśanaṃ | purīṣakṣaye hṛdayapārśvapīḍā saśabdasya ca vāyor ūdhvagamanaṃ kukṣau sañcaraṇaṃ ca mūtrakṣaye bastitodo lpamūtratā ca || atrāpi svayonivardhanadravyopayogaḥ || svedakṣaye stabdharomakūpatā sparśavaiguṇyaś ca tatrābhyaṅga svedopayogaś ca || ārttavakṣaye yathocitakālādarśanamalpatā vā yonivedanā ca | tatra saṃśodhanamāgneyānāñ ca dravyānām upayogaḥ || stanyakṣaye stanayo mlānatā stanyāsambhavaś ca | tatra śleṣmavardhanadravyopayogaḥ || garbhakṣaye garbhāspandanamanunnatakukṣitā ca | tatra prāptabastikālāyāḥ kṣīrabastiprayogo medhyān na prayogaś ca || ata ūrdhvamatipravṛddhānāṃ doṣadhātūnāṃ lakṣaṇam upadekṣyāmaḥ tatra vātavṛddhau kārśyaṃ kārṣṇyaṃ gātrasphuraṇatā uṣṇakāmatā nidrānāśolpabalatvaṃ gāḍhavarcasvatā ca || pittavṛddhau pītāvabhāsatā santāpaḥśītakāmitvamalpanidratā mūrcchā balahāniḥ pītaviṇmūtratvañ ca || śleṣmavṛddhau śauklyaṃ śaithyaṃ sthairyaṃ gauravam agnisādas tandrā nidrā sandhyati śliṣṭatā ca || rasotipravṛddho hṛdaye kledaṃ prasekañ cāpādayati | raktaṃ raktāṅgākṣitāṃ || māṃsaṃ sphiggaṇḍauṣṭhopasthorubāhujaṅghāsu vṛddhiṃ gurugātratāñ ca | medaḥ snigdhāṅgatāmudarapārśvavṛddhiṃ kāsaśvāso daurgandhyañ ca || asthyadhyasthīny adhidantāṃś ca || majjā sarvāṅganetragauravaṃ || śukraṃ śukrāśmariti prādurbhāvaṃ || purīśamāṭopaḥ kukṣau śūlañ ca || mūtraṃ muhurmuhuḥ pravṛttiṃ todañ ca || svedaḥ kaṇḍū daurgandhyañ ca || stanyaṃ stanayor atipīnatvaṃ muhurmuhuḥ pravṛttim atitodañ ca || ārttavamaṅgamardo daurbalyañca + teṣāṃ kṣapaṇamaviruddhaiḥ kriyāviśeṣaiḥ kurvīta balakṣayaṃ ata ūrdhvam anuvyākhyāsyāmaḥ || rasādīnāṃ śukrāntānāṃ dhātūnāṃ yat paran tejas tat khalv ojas tad eva balam ity ucyate | śāstrasiddhāntāt tatra balena sthiropacitamāṃsatā sarvaceṣṭāsvapratighātaḥ svaravarṇṇaprasādo bāhyābhyantarāṇāṃ ca karaṇānām ātmakāryapratipattir bhavati || bha || ojaḥ somātmakaṃ snigdhaṃ śītaṃ ślakṣṇaṃ sthiraṃ saraṃ | viviktaṃ mṛdu mṛtsnañ ca prāṇāyatanam uttamaṃ || dehaḥ sāvayavastena vyāpto bhavati dehinām | abhighātāt kṣayāt kopāddhyānācchokācchramāt kṣudhaḥ | ojaḥ saṃkṣīyate dehe dhātugrahaṇaniḥsṛtaṃ || tatra visraṃso vyāpatkṣaya iti liṅgāni bhavanti | sandhiviśleṣo gātrāṇāṃ sadanaṃ doṣacyavanakriyāsannirodhaś ca visraṃse | stabdhatā gurugātra tā śopho varṇṇabhedo glānis tandrā nidrā vyāpanne | māṃsakṣayo mohaḥ pralāpo maraṇam iti ca kṣīṇo | tatra visraṃse vyāpanne ca kriyāviśeṣairaviruddhairbalamadhyāyayet mūḍhasaṃjñamitarañ ca varjjayet | yasya dhātukṣayādvāyuḥ sañjñākarmma vināśayet prakṣīṇañ ca balaṃ yasya tau na śaktau cikitsituṃ || rasanimittameva sthaulyaṅkārśyañ ca | tatra śleṣmalāhārasevitodhyaśanaśīlasyāvyāyāmino divāsvapnaratasya āma evānnaraso madhurataraś ca śarīramanukramamāṇotisnehānmedo janayati | medasotipravṛddhatvādvāṭharyamāpādayati | tamativaṭharaṃ kṣudrasvāsapipāsākṣutsvapnasvedadaurgandhyakrathanagātrasādagagadatvāni kṣipramevāviśanti | saukumāryātmedasaḥ sarvakrisvasamarthatvaṃ bhavati | kaphaphamedoniruddhamārgatvāccālpavyavāyo bhavati | āvṛtamārgatvād eva ca śeṣā dhātavo nāpyāyante 'tyarthamatolpaprāṇo bhavati | pramehapiḍakājvarabhagandaravidradhivātavikāṇāmanyatamaṃ prāpya maraṇam upayāti | sarva evasya rogā balavanto bhavanti | kasmād āvṛtamārgatvāt srotasāmatas tasyotpattihetuṃ parihared utpanne tu śilājatuguggulamūtratriphalāloharajorasāñjanamadhuyavamudgakoradūṣoddālakādīnāṃ virūkṣaṇacchedanīyānāṃ dravyāṇāṃ vidhivad upayogo vyāyāmalekhanabastyupayogaś ceti || tatra punar vātalāhārasevinotivyavāyavyāyāmādhyayanacintābhayaśokarātrijāgaraṇapipāsākṣutkṣayālpāsanaprabhṛtibhir upaśoṣito rasadhātuḥ śarīram anukramamāṇaulpatvān na prīṇāyati tasmād atikārśyaṃ bhavati | sotikṛśaḥ kṣutpipāsāśītoṣṇavātavarṣābhārādāneṣv asahiṣṇurvātarogaprāyolpaprāṇaḥ kriyāsu ca bhavati | kāplīhodarāgnisādagulmaraktapittānām anyatamaṃ prāpya maraṇam upayāti sarva eva cāsya rogā balavanto bhavanti | kasmād alpaprāṇatvād atas tasyotpattihetum pariharet | utpanne tu payasyāśvagandhāvidārīvidārigandhāśatāvarīnāgabalānāṃ madhurāṇāṃ manyāsāṃ cauṣadhīnāṃ vidhivadupayogaḥ | kṣīradadhighṛtamāṃsaśāliṣaṣṭikayavagodhūmānāṃ ca divāsvapnabrahmacaryāvyāyāmabṛṃhaṇabastyupayogaś ceti | yaḥ punar ubhayasādhāraṇāny upasevate tasyānnarasaḥ śarīram anukramamāṇaḥ samāndhātūnupacinoti samadhātutvān madhyaśarīro bhavati | sarvakriyāsu ca samarthaḥ kṣutpipāsāśītoṣṇavātavarṣātapasaho balavāṃś ca bhavati saḥ | satatamanupālayitavya iti || bha || dvāv apy etau vigahitau sadā sthūlakṛśau narau | śreṣṭho madhyaśarīras tu kṛśaḥ sthūlā tu pūjitaḥ | doṣaḥ prakupito dhātūṃ kṣapayaty āmatejasā | iddhaḥ svatejasā vahnir ukhāgatam ivodakaṃ || vailakṣaṇyāc charīrāṇām asthāyitvāt tathaiva ca | doṣadhātumalānāṃ tu parimāṇān na vidyate | eṣāṃ samatvaṃ yac cāpi bhiṣagbhir abhidhīyate | na tat svāsthyād ṛte śakyaṃ vaktum anyena hetunā | doṣādīnān tu samatām anumānena lakṣayet | prasannātmendriyaṃ jñātvā puruṣantatra buddhimāṃ | kṣapayed bṛṃhayec cāpi doṣadhātumalāṃ bhiṣak | tāvad yāvad arogaḥ syād etat sāmyasya athātaḥ karṇṇavyadha vidhiṃ vyāvyākhyāsyāmaḥ || rakṣābhūṣaṇanimittaṃ bālasya karṇṇau vyadhayet | tau ṣaṣṭhe māse saptame vā śuklapakṣe praśasteṣu tithikaraṇamuhūrttanakṣatreṣu kṛtamaṅgalaṃ svastivācanaṃ dhātryaṅko kumāram upaveśyābhisāntvayamānaḥ bhiṣag vāmahastenākṛṣya karṇṇan daivakṛte chidre dakṣiṇahastena ṛju vidhyet | pūrvan dakṣiṇaṃ kumārasya vāmaṅ kanyāyāḥ | pratanuṃ sūcyā bahalam ārayā śoṇita bahutve tivedanāyāṃ cānyadeśaviddham iti jānīyāt | nirupadravatā taddeśaviddhaliṅgam

vātapittakaphaśoṇitasannipātāgantukaniraruṇaḥ kṛṣṇo vā paruṣo mṛdur anavasthitastodādayaś cātra vedanāviśeṣo bhavanti | pittaśvayathuḥ pītaḥ sarakto vā śīghrānusārīmṛdur dāhādayaś cātra vedanāviśeṣo bhavanti | śleṣmaśvayathuḥ pāṇḍuḥ śuklo vā kaṭhinaḥ snigdho mandānusārī kaṇḍvādayaś cātra vedanāviśeṣo bhavanti | sannipātaśvayathuḥ sarvadoṣaliṅgaviśeṣopetaḥ | pittavac choṇitajotikṛṣṇaś ca | pittaraktalakṣaṇaś cāgantur lohitāvabhāsaś ca | sa yadā bāhyābhyantaraiḥ kriyāviśeṣairna śakyate praśamayituṃ kriyāviparyayād bahutvād vā doṣāṇāṃ pākaāyābhimukho bhavati tasyāmasya pacyamānasya pakvasya ca lakṣaṇam ucyamānam upadhārayaś ca | tatra mandoṣmatā tvaksāvarṇyan sthairyaṃm alparujatālpaśophatā cāmalakṣaṇam uddiṣṭaṃ || sūcībhir iva nistudyate daśyata iva ca pipīlikābhiś chidyate bhidyata iva ca śastreṇa tāḍyata iva ca daṇḍenabhiḥ pīḍyata iva ca pāṇinā ghaṭyata iva cāṃgulyā dahyate pacyata iva cāgnikṣārābhyāṃ mūṣā coṣaparidāhāś ca bhavanti | vṛścikaviddha iva ca sthānāsanaśayaneṣu na śāntim upaiti | ādhmātabastir ivātataś ca śopho bhavati tvagvaivarṇyaṃ śophābhivṛddhirjvaro dāhaḥ pipāsā bhaktā ruciś ca pacyamānaliṅgaṃ || vedanopaśāntirnirlohitālpaśophatā ca balīprādurbhāvaḥ tvakparipoṭanaṃ nimnadarśanam aṅgulyāvapīḍite bastāvivacodakasañcaraṇaṃ pūyasya prapīḍayaty ekam antam ante cāvapīḍite muhur muhus todaḥ kaṇḍūranunnatatā vyādher upadravaśāntir bhaktābhikāṅkṣā ca paripakvaliṅgaṃ || kaphajeṣu khalu rogeṣu gambhīrānugatatvād abhighātajeṣu ca keṣucid asamastam pakvalakṣaṇaṃ dṛṣṭvā pakvam apakvam iti manyamāno bhiṣaṅ moham upaiti | tatra hi tvaksavarṇṇatā śītaśophatālparujatāśmavac ca ghanatā na tatra moham upeyāt | bha || āmam vidahyamānañ ca samyak pakvañ ca yo bhiṣak | jānīyāt sa bhaved vaidyaḥ śeṣās taskaravṛttayaḥ || vātād ṛte nāsti rujā na pākaḥ pittād ṛte nāsti kaphāc ca pūyaḥ | tasmāt samastāḥ paripākakāle pacanti śophaṃ traya eva doṣāḥ || narte rujā vātam ṛte ca pittaṃ pākaḥ kaphaś cāpivinā na pūyaḥ | tasmād vipākaṃ paripākakāle prayānti śophās tribhir eva doṣaiḥ || kālāntareṇābhyuditan tu pittaṃ kṛtvā vaśe vātakaphau prasahya | pacaty ataḥ śoṇitam eva pāko matopareṣāṃ viduṣāṃ dvitīyaḥ || dravyāṇāñ candanādīnāṃ dagdhānāṃ śvetatā yathā | tadvat pittoṣmaṇā dagdhaṃ rakta pūyam ihocyate || tatrāmacchede sirāsnāyuvyāpādanaṃ śoṇitātipravṛttiḥ vedanāprādurbhāvovadaraṇam anekopadravadarśanaṃ kṣatavidradhir vā bhavati | sa yadā tu bhayamohābhyāṃ pakvam apakvam iti manyamānaḥ ciram upekṣate vyādhiṃ vaidyaḥ | sa gambhīrānugato dvāram alabhamānaḥ pūyaḥ svamāśayam avadāyotsaṅgaṅ kṛtvā nāḍīñ janayitvā bhavaty asādhyaḥ || bha || yaśchinatyāmamajñānādyaś ca pakvamupekṣate | śvapacāv iva sasyaś cet tāva niścitakāriṇau || prākchastrakarmaṇaś ceṣṭaṃ bhojayed āturaṃ bhiṣak | pāneyaṃ pāyayet madyaṃ tīkṣṇaṃ yo vedanāsahaṃ || na mūrchaty annasaṃyogān mattaḥ śastraṃ na budhyate | tasmād avaśyam bhoktavyaṃ rogeṣūkteṣu karmaṇi || prāṇo hy ābhyantaro nṛṇām bāhyaprāṇaguṇānvitaḥ | dhārayaty avirodhena ucchrayam pāñcabhautikaṃ || yo hy utthitolpo yadi vā mahāṃbhyāt kriyāṃ vinā pākam upaiti śophaḥ | viśālamūlo viṣamaṃ vidagdhaḥ sa kṛcchratāṃ yāty avagāḍhadoṣaḥ || ālepavisrāvaṇaśodhanais tu samyakprayuktair yadi nopaśāmyet | śīghraṃ vipacyet samam alpamūlaḥ sampiṇḍitaś coparicālpadoṣaḥ kakṣaṃ samāsādya yathā ca vahnir vāyv īritaḥ sandahati prasahya | tathaiva pūyopyaviniḥsṛto hi mānsaṃ sirāsnāyu ca khādatīha || ādau vimlāpanaṃ kuryāt dvitīyam avasecanaṃ | tṛtīyam upanāhaṃ tu caturthīṃ pāṭanakriyāṃ | pañcamaṃ śodhanaṃ vidyāt ṣaṣṭhaṃ ropaṇam iṣyate | ete kramā vraṇasyoktās saptamaṃ vaikṛtāpaham iti || 17 || ❈ ||
athāta ālepavraṇabandhavidhi vyā vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || ālepana ādya upakrama eṣa sarvaśophānāṃ sāmānyataḥ pradhānatamaś ca tamprati pratirogam vakṣyāmaḥ | tatra pratilomam ālimpen nānuloma | pratilome hi samyag auṣadham avatiṣṭhate | praviśati ca romakūpais tasya pramāṇaṃ māhiṣārdracarmāt sedham upadiśanti | na ca śuṣkam upekṣitavyam anyatra pīḍayitavyāt | śuṣkam apārthakaṃ rujākaraś ca bhavati | ālepapradehayor antaram ālepaḥ śītas tanur aviśoṣī viśoṣī vā | pradehas tūṣṇaḥ śīto vā bahalobahuviśoṣī ca | tatra raktapittaprasādakṛdālepaḥ | śodhano ropaṇaḥ śophavedanāpagamaś ca tasyopayogaḥ kṣatākṣateṣu yastu kṣateṣūpayujyate sa bhūyaḥ kalka iti saṃjñāṃ labhate | nirudhyālepanasaṃjñaḥ tenāsrāvam anirodho mṛdupūtimāṃsāpakarṣaṇam antardoṣatā śurvraṇaśuddhiś ca bhavati | na cālepanaṃ rātrau prayuñjīta śaityāt tu śleṣmaṇaḥ ūrdhvavivṛtaromakūpatvādūṣmānir eti || avidagdheṣu śopheṣu hitam ālepamanam bhavet | yathā svadoṣaśamanaṃ dāhakaṇḍūrujāpahaṃ || marmadeśeṣu ye rogā guhyeṣv api sadā nṛṇāṃ | saṃśodhanāya teṣān tukuryād ālepanaṃ bhiṣak || ata ūrdhvavraṇabandhanadravyāṇy upadekṣyāmaḥ | kṣaumakārpāsikāvikadukūlakauśeyapatrorṇṇacīnapaṭṭacarmāntarbalkalalatāvidalarajjābālatūlasantānikālāhādīny athāvyādhiṃ kālaś cāvekṣyopayogaḥ | pramāṇataś ceṣām ādeśaḥ | kośadāmaśākhāsu grīvāmeḍhramūtolīmaṇḍalasthavikāyamalakakhaṭvācīnavivandha vitānagophaṇāḥ pañcāṅgī ceti caturdaśabandhaviśeṣāḥ | teṣān nāmabhir evākṛtayaḥ prāyeṇa vyākhyātāḥ | tatra kośaṃ jaṅghāṅguliparvasu vidadhyāt | dāmam asamvādheṅge sa
nagatasya vātavat kriyāvibhāgaḥ || evaṃ prakṣubhitānā prasaratāṃ vimārgagamanam āṭopo dhūmāyanam arocakaś charddir iti liṅgāni bhavanti | tatra tṛtīyaḥ kriyākālaḥ || ata ūrddhvaṃ sthānasaṃśrayam vakṣyāmaḥ | evaṃ khalu prasṛtās tāṃs tāñ charīrapradeśān āgamya tāṃs tān vyādhīñ janayanti | taṃ prati pratiroga vakṣyāmaḥ | te yadodar dhayaḥ sanniveśaṅ kurvanti te gulmavṛdhyudarāgnisaṅgānāhavisūcikātīsāraprabhṛtīñ janayanti || bastigatāḥ pramehāśmarīmūtrāghātamūtradoṣaprabhṛtīn || gudagatās tu bhagandarārsaprabhṛtīn || meḍhragatās tu parivarttikāpadaṃśaśūkadoṣaprabhṛtīn || vṛṣaṇagatā vṛṣaṇavṛddhīn || ūrddhvajatrugatā ūrddhvagā galagaṇḍāpacīprabhṛtīn || tvaṅmānsasoṇitagatāḥ kṣudrarogān kuṣṭhādīṃ visarpāṃś ca || māṃsagatā granthyapacyarbudagalagaṇḍālajīprabhṛtīn || asthigatā vidradhyanuśayīprabhṛtīn || pādagatāḥ ślīpadavātasoṇitaprabhṛtīn || sarvagatāḥ jvaraśukradoṣasarvāṅgarogaprabhṛtīn || evam anyeṣv api sthāneṣu rogāṇāṃ doṣasanniveśaṃ jānīyāt || teṣām evam abhisanniviṣṭānām pūrvarūpaprādurbhāvo bhavati | tatra caturthaḥ kriyākālaḥ || ata ūrddhvaṃ vyādhidarsanam vakṣyāmaḥ || sophārbudagranthividradhivisarpādīnāṃ pravyaktalakṣaṇatā jvarātīsāraprabhṛtīnāñ ca | tatra pañcamakriyākālaḥ || ata ūrddhvam asyāvadīrṇṇasya vraṇabhāvam āpannasya ṣaṣṭhaḥ kriyākālaḥ || jvarātīsāraprabhṛtīnāñ ca dīrghakālānubandhaḥ | tatrāpratikriyamāṇo sādhyatām upaiti || bhabhavati cātra || sañcayañ ca prakopañ ca prasaraṃ sthānasaṃśrayaṃ | vyaktim bhedañ ca yo vetti doṣāṇāṃ sa bhaved bhiṣak || sañcaye pahṛtā doṣā labhante nottarā gatīḥ | te tūttarāsu gatiṣu bhavanti balavattarāḥ || sarvair bhāvais tṛbhir vāpi dvābhyām ekena vā punaḥ | saṃsarge kupita kruddhaṃ doṣaṃ doṣo nudhāvati || saṃsarge yo garīyāṃ syād upakramya sa vai bhavet | śeṣadoṣāvirodhena sannipāte tathaiva c ā a || vraṇe tu yasmād rūḍhe pi vraṇavastu na naśyati | ādehadhāraṇāj janto r vraṇas tasmān nirucyata iti || 21 || ❈ || ||
athāto vraṇāsrāvavijñānīyam vyā || tvaṅmānsasirāsnāyvasthisandhikoṣṭhamarmāṇy aṣṭau vraṇavastūni bhavanti | atra sarvavraṇasanniveśaḥ || tatrādyaikavastusanniveśī tvagbhedī vraṇaḥ sūpacar aḥ o bhavati | śeṣās tv āsrāvā vijñeyāḥ | ya evam uttiṣṭhanty avadīvyante ca | āyataś caturasro vṛttas tripuṭaka iti vraṇākṛtisamāsaḥ | viśeṣatas tu vikṛtākṛ𑑛tayo durupakramā bhavanti || sarva eva vraṇāḥ kṣipraṃ saṃrohayanty ātmavatāṃ subhiṣagbhiś copakrāntāḥ | anātmavatāṃ majñaiś copakrāntāḥ praduṣyanti pravṛdvatvād doṣāṇāṃ | tatrātisamvṛto vivṛtaḥ kaṭhinotimātram atimṛdur utsannovasannaḥ śītotyuṣṇaḥ kṛṣṇaraktapītaśuklādivarṇṇaiṣv apy arthavarṇṇaḥ pūtimāṃsa𑑛 sirāsnāyupratipūrṇṇaḥ pūtipūyāśrāvī ūnmārgy utsaṅgy amanojñadarśanagandhotyarthavedanāvān dāhapākarāgakaṇḍūśophapiṭakopadrutotyarthaduṣṭaśoṇitasrāvī dīrghakālānubandhī ceti duṣṭavraṇaliṅgāni || tatra doṣocchrāyam avekṣya yathāsvaṃ prakurvīta || atha sarvāsrāvām vakṣyāmaḥ | tatra ghṛṣṭāsu chinnāsu vā tvakṣu tvaksphuṭite bhinnevadārite vā salilaprakāśo bhavaty āsrāvaḥ kiñcid visr ā a ḥ pītāvabhāsaś ca | māṃsagate tu sarpiḥ prakāśaḥ sāndraḥ svetaḥ picchilaś ca | sirāgatas tu sadyaś chinnāsu sirāsu raktātipravṛttiḥ pakvāsu ca toyanāḍībhir ivāgama naṃ pūyasya āśrāvaś cātra tanur vicchinnaḥ sapheno vasāpratimaḥ saraktaś ca | snāyugatas tu snigdho ghanaḥ siṃghaṇakapratimaḥ saraktaś ca | asthigatas tu asthiny abhihate sphuṭite bhinnevadārite vā doṣabhakṣitatvāc chuktidhautam ivābhāti asthiniḥsāraś ca bhavati | āsrāvaś cātra tanur vicchinno majjāmiśraḥ sarudhirasnigdhaś ca sandhigatas tu pīḍyamāno na pravarttate | tathākuñcanaprasāraṇonnāmanavināmanoskāsanapradhāvanaiḥ sravati | āsrāvaś cātra tanur vicchinnaḥ picchilovalambī sarudhironmathitaś ca bhavati | koṣṭhagatas tu mūtrapurīṣapūyarudhirodakāni sravati | marmagatas tu nocyate tvagādiṣv evāvaruddhatvāt || atha sarvavraṇavedanām vakṣyāmaḥ || todanabhedanacchedanatāḍanāvamanthanāyāmanavikṣepaṇacumucumāyananirddarśanāvabhañjanasphoṭanavidāraṇotpāṭanakampanavividhaśūlaviśleṣaṇavikiraṇapūraṇastambhanaśvapanākuñcanāṅkuśikāḥ sambhavanti | vividhā vā yatra muhurmuhur vedanā āgacchanti tam vātikam iti vidyāt | ūṣācoṣaparidāhadhūmāyanāni yatrāṅgārāvakīrṇṇam iva vedanā sarujaṃ tīkṣṇasampātipacyate yatra coṣmābhir vṛddhir bhavati kṣate kṣārāvasiktavac ca yatra vedanāviśeṣāḥ ghotāt ā a m paittik ī a m iti viṃdyāt | pittavad raktasamutthañ jānīyāt | viśeṣo raktado raktasrāvaś ca bhavati | kaṇḍūrgurutvaṃ suptatā svedolpavedanatvaṃ stambhaḥ śaityañ ca yatra taṃ ślaiṣmikam iti vidyāt | yatra sarvavedanāsamutpattis taṃ sānnipātikam iti vidyāt || ata ūrddhvaṃ sarvavarṇṇām vakṣyāmaḥ | bhasmakaposthivarṇṇaḥ paruṣoruṇavarṇṇaḥ kṛṣṇa iti mārutajasya | nīlaḥ śyāvo haritaḥ pītaḥ kṛṣṇo raktaḥ piṅgala iti pittaraktasamutthayoḥ | śvetasnigdhaḥ pāṇḍur iti śleṣmajasya | sarvavarṇṇopetaḥ sānnipātikasya || bhavati cātra ślokaḥ || na kevalaṃ vraṇeṣūkto vedanāvarṇṇasaṅgrahaḥ sarvaśophavikāreṣu vraṇaval lakṣayed bhiṣag iti || 22 || ❈ ||
athātaḥ kṛtyākṛtyavidhiṃ vyā || tatra vayasthānāṃ dṛḍhānāṃ prāṇavatāṃ satvavatām ātmavatāñ ca sucikitsyā vraṇā bhavanti || ekaikasmin vā puruṣe yatraitad guṇapañcakaṃ bhavati tasya khalu sādhanīyatamāḥ tatra vayasthānāṃ pratyagradhātutvād āśu vraṇasaṃroho bhavati | dṛḍhānāṃ sthirabahumāṃsatvāc chastram a
akālakṛtaḥ || atra sarvavyādhyuparodhaḥ || sarveṣāñ ca vyādhīnāṃ vātapittaśleṣmāṇa eva mūlaṃ | talliṅgatvād dṛṣṭaphalatvād āgamāc ca paśyāmaḥ | yathā hi kṛtsnaṃ vikārajātaṃ vaiśvarūpyeṇa vyavasthitaṃ satva rajas tamāṃsy avyatiricya varttate | evam eva kṛtsnam vikārajātaṃ vaiśvarūpyeṇāvasthitam avyatiricya vātapittaśleṣmāṇo varttante doṣadhātumalasaṃsargāyad āyatanaviśeṣān nimittataś caiṣāṃ vikalpo bhavati | doṣadūṣiteṣv atyarthañ ca dhātuṣu ji saṃ jñā bhavati | so rasa jo yaṃ raktajo yaṃ māṃsajo yaṃ medojo yaṃ asthijo yaṃ majjajo yaṃ śukrajo yaṃ vyādhir iti || aśraddhārocakapipāsāṅgamardajvarahṛllās a ā tṛptigauravapāṇḍurogasrotorodhakārśyavairasyāṅgasādāḥ | akālapalitatimiradarśanarasadoṣajā vikārāḥ kuṣṭhavisarpapiṭakās tilakālakanacchavyaṅgamasakanīlikākoṭhaplīhagulmavidradhyarsorbudāsṛgdararaktapittaprabhṛtayo raktadoṣāt || gudamukhameḍhrapākāś cādhimāṃsārbudārsopajihvopakuśagalaśuṇḍikāmāṃsasaṃghātoṣṭhaprakopagalagaṇḍagaṇḍamālāprabhṛtayo māṃsadoṣāt | granthivṛddhigalagaṇḍārbudoṣṭhaprakopamadhumehātisthaulyaprabhṛtayo medodoṣāt || adhyasthidantāsthitodaśūlādayosthidoṣāt || tamodarśamūrcchābhramapārśvagauravahṛcchūlasthūlamūlorujambheti majjadoṣāt || klaibyam apraharṣaś ca śukradoṣāt || tvagdoṣas saṃgo tipravṛttir vā malānāṃ malāyatanadoṣāt || indriyāṇām ayathā pravṛttir apravṛttir vā indriyāyatanadoṣād ity eṣa samāso vistara nimittāni caiṣām pratirogam vakṣyāmaḥ || bhabhavati cātra || kupitānāṃ hi doṣāṇāṃ śarīre paridhāvatāṃ yatra saṅgaḥ savaiguṇyād vyādhis tatropajāyate || bhūyo tra jijñāsyate | kim vātapittaśleṣmaṇāṃ jvarātīsārādīnāñ ca nityaṃ saṃśleṣaḥ paricchedo veti | yadi nityaṃ saṃśleṣaḥ syān nityāturā eva sarvaprāṇinaḥ syuḥ | athāpy anyathābhāvo vātādīnāṃ jvarādīnāñ cānyatra varttamānasyānyasya liṅgan na bhavatīti kṛtvā vātādayo jvarādīnāṃ mūlānīti tan na || atrocyate || doṣāṃ pratyākhyāya jvarādayo na bhavanti || atha ca nityaṃ sambandhaḥ yathā hi vidyudvātāśanivarṣaṇyākāśaṃ pratyākhyāya na bhavanti | saty apy ākāśe kadācic ca na bhavanti | atha ca nimittato bhavanti | taraṅgabudbudādayaś codakaviśeṣāḥ 𑑛 evam vātādīnāṃ jvarādīnāñ ca na nityasaṃśleṣo na vicchedaḥ | śāśvatikaḥ | atha ca nimittataḥ tebhya evo pa t pattir iti || vikāram parimāṇañ ca saṅkhyā caiṣām pṛthak pṛthak | vistareṇottare tantre sarvā bādhāṃm pracakṣmaha| iti || 24 || ❈ ||
athāto ṣṭavidhaśastrakarma𑑛vidhiniścayam vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || chedyās tu bhagandarārśorbudaduṣṭavraṇanāḍīcarmakīlatilakālakamedogranthiśleṣmanimittāś cāmas tathā māṃsasirāsnāyukothamāṃsakandīmāṃsāsthigatam api ca śalyam uttavaḥ śataponako jatumaṇir valmīkamadhūṣodhimāṃsaḥ māṃsasaṃghātagalaśuṇḍikā ity evamādayo vikārāḥ || bhedyās tu sarvajamṛte vidradhyanuśayī pramehapiṭakā granthayaś ca visarpāś cāditas trayas trayo vṛddhayaś ca vidārikāvamanthau puṣkarikānāḍyastanarogāś ca sahopadaṃśaiḥ śophāś cāsarvasarāḥ prāyaśaḥ kṣudrarogās tathā tālupuppuṭatuṇḍikerīgilāyuprabhṛtayo ntaḥ pūyaśalyāḥ pañca medasamutthā aśmarīhetor bastiś ca || lekhyāś catasro rohiṇyaḥ vraṇanetravarmādyadhijihvopajihve māṃsocchrayaḥ kilāso dantavaidarbhaḥ pañca medojāś ca || vedhyās tu sirodaravṛddhiprabhṛtayaḥ || eṣyās tu gatimanto vraṇā nāḍyaḥ śalyāni ca || āharttavyās tu dantāntaḥ śarkarāśmarīmūḍhagarbhakarṇṇamalaśalyāni pādaśarkarā ca || visrāvyo vidradhiḥ sarvo bhaved anyatra sarvajāt || kuṣṭhāni vāyuḥ sarujaḥ śophaś cāpy ekadeśajaḥ || pālyāmayā ślīpadāni viṣaduṣṭaś ca śoṇitam | arbudāni visarpāś ca granthayaś cāditaś ca ye || trayas trayas te viśrāvyā stanarogās tathaiva ca | sauṣiraḥ kaṇṭhaśālūkāḥ kaṇṭakāḥ kṛmidantakaḥ dantaveṣṭaḥ sopakuśaḥ śītādo dantapuppuṭaḥ | pittāsṛkkaphajāś cyauṣṭhyāḥ kṣudrarogāś ca bhūyaśaḥ || sīvyā medaḥsamutthās tu bhitvā vilikhitaṃ tathā | kaphagranthir alpapāliḥ karṇṇasadyovraṇaś ca yaḥ || alpagrahāt tadvad eva vraṇe kuryād atas tyajet || samyak sīvitam avekṣya madhughṛtayutair añjanamadhukalodhrapriyaṅguśallakīphalarasāñjanakṣaumamasīcūrṇṇaiḥ pratisārya bandhenopacaret | || bhavati ||bhavanti cātra ślokāḥ || etad aṣṭavidhaṃ karmma samāsena prakīrttitaṃ | cikitsiteṣu kārtsnyena vistaras tasya vakṣyate || hīnātiriktan tiryak ca gātracchedanam ātmanaḥ | etāś catasro ṣṭavidhe karmmaṇi vyāpadaḥ smṛtāḥ || ajñānalobhāhitavākyayogair bhayapramohair aparaiś ca bhāvaiḥ | vaidyo yadā śastram abhiprayuñjan saśeṣadoṣāṃ kurute vikārān || (etāś catasro ṣṭavidhe karmmaṇi vyāpadaḥ smṛtāḥ || ( ajñānalobhāhitavākyayogair bhayapramohair aparaiś ca bhāvaiḥ | vaidyo yadā śastram abhiprayuñjan || ) taṃ kṣāraśastrāgnibhir auṣadhaiś ca bhūyo bhiyuñjan tam ayuktiyuktaṃ | jijīviṣur dūrata eva vaidyam vivarjayed ugraviṣāhitulyam || tad eva yuktaṃ tv atimarmasandhīṃ hiṃsyāt sirā snāyum athāsthi caiva | mūrkhaprayuktam puruṣaṃ kṣaṇena prāṇair viyuñjyād atha vā kadācit || bhramaḥ pralāpaḥ patanam pramoho viceṣṭanaṃ līyanam uṣṇatā ca | suptāṅgatā mūrchanam ūrdhvavātaḥ | tīvrā rujo vātakṛtāś ca tās tāḥ || māṃsodakābhaṃ rudhitañ ca gacchet sarvendriyārthoparamas tathaiva | daśārdhasaṃkhyeṣv atha vikṣateṣu sāmānyato marmmasu liṅgam uktaṃ || surendragopapratimam prabhūtaṃ raktaṃ sravet tatkṣatajaś ca vāyuḥ | karoti rogāṃ vividhāṃ yathoktāṃ sirāsu chinnāsv atha vikṣatāsu || kaubjaṃ śarīrāvayavāvasādaḥ kriyāsv aśaktis tumulā rujaś ca | cirād vraṇo rohati yasya cāpi taṃ snāyuviddhaṃ manujam vyavasyet || śophābhivṛddhis tumulā rujaś ca balakṣayaḥ sarvata eva śophaḥ | kṣateṣu sandhiṣv acalācaleṣu syāt sarvakarmoparamaś ca liṅgaṃ || ghorā rujo yasya niśādineṣu sarvāsv avasthāsu ca naiti śāntim | bhiṣag vipaścid viditārthasūtras tam asthividdhaṃ manujaṃ vyavasyet || yathāsvam etāni vibhāvayec ca liṅgāni marmasv abhitāḍiteṣu | pāṇḍur vivarṇṇaḥ sparśan na veti yo māṃsamarmāaṇy abhitāḍitaḥ saḥ || ātmānam evātijaghanyakārī śastreṇa yo hiṃsati karmma kurvan | tam ātmavān ātmanudaṅ kuvaidyaṃ vivarjayed āyur abhīpsamānaḥ || tiryakpraṇihite śastre doṣāḥ purvam udāhṛtāḥ | tasmāt pariharaṃhaṃ doṣāṃ kuryāc chastranipātanaṃ || mātaram pitaram putrām bāndhavān api cāturaḥ | apy etāñ chaṅkate nityaṃ vaidye viśvāsam eti ca || visṛjaty ātmanātmānaṃ na cainam pariśaṅkate | tasmāt putravad eveha pālayed āturam bhiṣak || karmmaṇā kaścid ekena dvābhyāṅ kaścit tribhis tathā | vikāraḥ sādhyate kaścic caturbhir api karmmabhiḥ || 25 || ❈ ||
athātaḥ pranaṣṭaśalyavijñānīyaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ || atha śala hiṃsāyāṃ dhātuḥ tasya yatpratyayasya śalyam iti rūpam bhavati | tad dvividhaṃ śārīram āgantukaś ca śārīrāgantavaś ca sarvaśarīrābādhā ihopadṛśyanta ity ataḥ śalyaśāstraṃ || tatra śārīrāṇi dantanakharomādīni | dhātavo nnaṃmalā doṣāś ca duṣṭāḥ āgantūni śarīraśalyavyatirekeṇa yāvanto bhāvāḥ duḥkhaṃ duḥkham utpādayanti || bhabhavati cātra || śarīre sarvaśalyānāṃ gatayaḥ pañcadhā smṛtāḥ | ṛjvāgatam avāñcīnaṃ tiryag ūrdhvam adhogataṃ || tāni tu yadā vegakṣayāt pratīghātād vā tvagādiṣu vraṇavastuṣv atiṣṭhante | dhamanīsrotosthipesīvivaraprabhṛtiṣu vā śarīrapradeśeṣu tatra lakṣaṇam ucyamānam upadhārayasva | śyāvam piṭakācitaṃ śophavedanāvantaṃ muhurmuhuḥ śoṇitāsrāviṇam budbudavad udgatam mṛdumāṃsaṃñ ca vraṇañ jānīyāt saśalyo yam iti | sāmānyato lakṣaṇam uktaṃ | viśeṣas tvaggate vivarṇṇāḥ śopho bhavanty āyataḥ kaṭhinaś ca | māṃsagate śophābhivṛddhir asaṃrohaḥ pīḍanāsahiṣṇutā coṣaprapākau ca māṃsānām peśyantaragate py evaṃ coṣaśoṣavarjjaṃ | sirāgate cādhmānaṃ śūlañ ca | snāyugate snāyujālāvakṣepaṇaṃ | srotogate srotasāṃś ca karmaguṇahāniḥ | dhamanīgate saphenaṃ saraktam īrayan samīraṇaḥ saśabdo nirgacchaty aṅgamardapipāsā hṛllāsaś ca | asthigate vividhavedanāprādurbhāvaḥ saśophaś ca | asthivivaraga𑑛te tv asthicūrṇṇapūrṇṇatā saṃharṣo vegavāṃś ca | sandhigate py evaṃ ceṣṭoparamaś ca | koṣṭhagate tv āṭopānāho purīśāhāradarśanāni ca vraṇamukhād bhavanti | marmagate tu marmaviddhavad ācakṣate | sūkṣmagatiṣu śalyeṣv etāny eva lakṣaṇāni vispaṣṭāni bhavanti | mahānty alpāni vā śuddhade
𑑛ṣicya sthirībhūtaṃ śalyam uddharet || ajātuṣaṃ jatunā liptayā pūrvakalpenāsthiśalyam anyad vā tirya saktam avekṣyañ ca keśoṇḍuvaṃ dṛḍhaikadīrghasūtrabandhana kṛtvā dravabhaktopahitaṃ pāyayed ākaṇṭhāc ca pūrṇṇakoṣṭham vāmayet vamataś ca śalyaikadeśasaktaṃ sūtraṃ anyad vā sahasā tv ākṣipet | mṛdunā dantadhāvanakūrcakenāharet | praṇuded vāntakṣatakaṇṭhāya ca madhusarpirlehaṃ prayacchet triphalācūrṇṇam vā madhuśarkkarāmiśraṃ udakapūrṇṇam avāñcchirasam avapīḍayet | dhunuyād vāmayec ca grāsaśalye tu kaṇṭhasakte niḥśaṅkam anavabaddhaṃ skandhe muṣṭino nihanyāt snehasukhodakaṃ vā pāyayet || bhavatibhavati cātra || śalyākṛtiviśeṣāṃś ca sthānañ cāvekṣya naikadhā | tathā yantrapṛthaktvañ ca samyak chalyam athāharet || karṇṇavanti ca śalyāni duḥkhāny āharaṇe viduḥ | ādadīta bhiṣak tasmāt tāni yuktyā samāhitaḥ || etair upāyaiḥ śalyan tu naiva ni hārya te yadi | matyā nipuṇayā vaidyo yantrayogaiś ca nirharet || śophapākau rujaś cogrāḥ kuryāc chalyam anirhṛtam | vaikalyaṃ maraṇaṃ cāpi tasmād yatnād vinirhared iti || 27 || ❈ ||
athāto viparītavraṇavijñānīyaṃ vyāvyākhyāsyāmaḥ || phalāgnijalavṛṣṭīnāṃ puṣpadhūmāmbudā yathā | khyāpayanti bhaviṣyatvaṃ riṣṭāni maraṇan tathā || tāni saukṣmyāt pramādād vā tathaivāśu vyatikramāt | gṛhyante nodgatāny ajñair mumūrṣor na tv asambhavāt || dhruvaṃ hi riṣṭe maraṇaṃ brāhmaṇais tat kilāmalaiḥ | rasāyanatapojapyatatparair vā nivāryate || nakṣatrapīḍā bahudhā yathā kālād vipacyate | riṣṭapākan tathā kecit bruvate bahavo janāḥ || asiddhim prāpnuyāl loke pratikurvaṅ gatāyuṣaḥ | tasmād yatnena riṣṭāni lakṣayet kuśalo bhiṣak || gandhavarṇṇarasādīnāṃ viśeṣāṇāṃ svabhāvataḥ || vaikṛtaṃ yat tad ācaṣṭe vraṇinaḥ pakvalakṣaṇaṃ || kaṭus tīvraś ca visraś ca gandhas tu pavanādibhiḥ | lohagandhis tu raktena vyāmiśraḥ sānnipā ti kaḥ || lājātasītailasamāḥ kiñcid visrāś ca gandhataḥ | jñeyāḥ prakṛtigandhā ḥ syur a to nyad gandhavaikṛtam || madyājyayoḥ sumanasāṃ padmacandanayor api | sugandhā divyagandhāś ca mumūrṣūṇām vraṇāḥ smṛtāḥ || śvavājimūṣikādhvāṃkṣapūtivallūramatkuṇaiḥ | sagandhāḥ paṅkagandhāś ca bhūmigandhāś ca garhitāḥ || kuṃkumadhyāmak ā a ṃguṣṭhasavarṇṇāḥ pittajāś ca ye na dahyante na śuṣyanti varjayet tān vicakṣaṇaḥ || kaṇḍūmantaḥ sthirāḥ snigdhāḥ śvetāḥ kaphanimittajāḥ | dahyante vedanāvanto bhiṣak tān api varjayet || kṛṣṇā ye tv aruṇāsrāvā vātajā marmatāpinaḥ | svalpām api na kurvanti rujan tān api varjayet || kṣveḍanti ghurghurāyanti jvalantīva ca ye vraṇāḥ tvaṅmāṃsasthāś ca pavanaṃ saśabda visṛjanti ye || ye tv amarmasvasaṃbhūtā bhavanty atyarthavedanāḥ | dahyante cāntaratyarthaṃ bahiś śītāś ca ye vraṇāḥ || dahyante bahir atyarthaṃ bhavanty antaś ca śītalāḥ | śaktikuntadhvajarathā vājivāraṇapakṣiṇaḥ || yeṣu cāpy avabhāseyuḥ prāsādākṛtayas tathā | cūrṇṇāvakīrṇṇā iva ye bhānti cānavacūrṇṇitāḥ || prāṇamāṃsakṣayaśvāsakāsārocakapīḍitāḥ | pravṛddhapūyarudhirā vraṇā yeṣāñ ca marmasu || kriyābhiḥ samyag ārabdhā na siddhyanti ca ye vraṇāḥ | varjayed api tāṃ prājñaḥ saṃrakṣann ātmano yaśaḥ || 28 || ❈ ||
athāto viparītadūtasvapnadarśanīyam vyāvyākhyāsyāmaḥ || dūtadarśanasambhāṣā veśaceṣṭitam eva ca | ṛkṣavelā tithiś caiva nimitta śakuno nilaḥ || gehe vaidyasya vāgdehamanasāṃ ca viceṣṭitaṃ | kathayanty āturagataṃ śubham vā yadi vāśubham || pāṣaṇḍāśramavarṇṇānāṃ savarṇṇāḥ karmmasiddhaye | ta eva viparītāḥ syu dūtāḥ karmavipattaye || napuṃsakaḥ strī bahavo nyathā kāryānusūyakāḥ | gardabhoṣṭrarathārūḍhā rudantyaḥ sandhyaayos tathā || vaidyaṃ ya upasarpanti dūtās te cāpi garhitāḥ | pāṣadaṇḍāyudhadharā śuklaitaranivāsanaḥ || ārdrajīrṇṇāvasavyekamalinodhva ta vāsasaḥ | nyūnādhikāṅgātikṛṣṇā vikṛtā raudrarūpiṇaḥ || rūkṣaniṣṭhuravaktāras tv amaṅgalyābhidhāyinaḥ | chindantas tṛṇakāṣṭhāni spṛśanto nāsikāstanam || vastrāntānāmikākeśanakharoma daśāṃ spṛśan | likhanto vā mahīṃ kiṃcin muñcanto loṣṭabhedinaḥ | tailakarddamadigdhāṅgā raktasraganulepanāḥ || phalaṃ pakvam asāram vā gṛhītvā nyac ca tadvidhaṃ | nakhair nakhāṅkarañ cāpi kareṇa caraṇan tathā | upānaccarmahastā vā vikṛtāḥ vyādhipīḍitāḥ | vāmācārā rudanto śvāsino vikṛtekṣaṇāḥ || yāmyān diśaṃ prāñjalayo viṣam aikapadaiḥ sthitā | vaidyaṃ ya upasarpanti dūtās te cāpi garhitāḥ || dakṣiṇābhimukhaṃ deśe maline krūrakarmmiṇaṃ | bhūmau śayānaṃ nagnaṃ vā vegotsargeṣu vāśuciṃ || prakīrṇṇakeśam abhyaktaṃ svinnam viklavam eva vā | vaidyaṃ ya upasarpanti dūtās te cāpi garhitāḥ pitrye vā bahukārye vā tathā cotpātadarśane | madhyārdharātre vā sandhyayoḥ kṛttikāsu vā | ārdrāśleṣāmaghāmūlāpūrvāsu bharaṇīṣu vā | navamyām atha ṣaṣṭhyām vā pakṣasandhidineṣu vā | vaidyaṃ ya upasarpanti dūtās te cāpi garhitāḥ | svinnābhitaptā madhyāhne jvalanasya samīpataḥ | garhitāḥ pittarogeṣu dūtā vaidyaṃ samāgatāḥ | ta eva kapharogeṣu karmmasiddhikarāḥ smṛtāḥ | etena śeṣa vyākhyātaṃ svabudhyā vibhajed bhiṣak | raktapittātisāreṣu prameheṣu tathaiva ca | praśasto jalasaṃrodho vaidyāturasamāgamaḥ | evam vibhāgam vijñāya śeṣam budhyeta paṇḍitaḥ | śuklavāsā śucigauraḥ śyāmo vā priyadarśanaḥ | svasyāñ jātau svagotro vā dūtaḥ kāryakaraḥ smṛtaḥ | goyānenāgatas tuṣṭaḥ padbhyām vā kliṣṭaceṣṭitaḥ | dhṛtimāṃś ca vidhijñaś ca kālajñaḥ pratipattimāṃ | alaṅkṛto maṅgalavāg dūtaḥ kāryakaraḥ smṛtaḥ | svastham prāṅmukha māsīnaṃ same deśe śucau śuciṃ | upagacchanti ye vaidyaṃ te ca kāryakarāḥ smṛtāḥ || māṃsakumbhodakacchattravipravāraṇagovṛṣāḥ | śuklavarṇṇāś ca pūjyante prasthāne darśanāgatāḥ | strī putriṇīṃ savatsā gaur vardhamānam alaṅkṛtāḥ | kanyā matsyāḥ phalañ maṃ svastīkā modakā dadhi | hiraṇyākṣatapātram vā ratnāni sumano nṛpa | apraśāntabalo vājī haṃsaś cāśaḥ śikhī tathā | brahmadundubhipuṇyāhaḥ śaṅkhaveṇurathasvanāḥ | siṃhameghaninādaiāś ca heṣitaṅ gajabṛṃhitaṃ praśastaṃ haṃsa ru taṃ nṝṇām vācaś ca hṛdayaṃ priyāḥ | āsthitā vā na bho veśmadhvajatoraṇavedikāḥ || dikṣu śastā su vaktāro madhuraṃ pṛṣṭhato nugāḥ | vāmā vā dakṣiṇā vāpi śakunāḥ karmmasiddhaye | śuṣke sanihate patre vallīnaddhe sakaṇṭake | vṛkṣe tha vāśmabhasmāsthibhūtuṣāṃgārapāṃśuṣu | caityavalmīkaviṣamasthitā dīptakharasvanāḥ | purato dikṣu dīptāsu vaktāro nārthasādhakāḥ | puṃsaṃjñāḥ pakṣiṇo vāmāḥ strīsaṃjñā dakṣiṇā śubhāḥ | dakṣiṇād vāmagamanaṃ praśastaṃ śvasṛgālayoḥ | śakauśikayor evan nobhayaṃ śasasarpayoḥ || darśanam vā rutam vāpi na godhākṛkalāsayoḥ dūtair aniṣṭais tulyānām aśastaṃ darśanaṃ nṛṇāṃ | kulatthatilakarpāsatuṣapāṣāṇabhasmanān | pātraṃ neṣṭaṃ tathāṅgāratailakardamapūritaṃ | vinā su rayā rām vā madyānāṃ pūrṇṇaṃ vā raktasarṣapaiḥ | śavakāṣṭhapalāṣānāṃ rūḍhānām pathi saṅgamāḥ | neṣyante patitāntasthadīnāndharipavas tathā | mṛdu śīto nukūlaś ca sugandhiś cānilaḥ śubhaḥ | kharoṣṇo niṣṭhagandhaś ca pratilomo na śasyate | graṃthyarbudādiṣu sadā cchedaśabdas tu pūjitaḥ | vidradhyudaragulmeṣu bhedaśabdas tathaiva ca | raktapittātisāreṣu ruddhaśabdaḥ praśasyate |𑑛 daurmanasyañ ca vaidyasya yātrāyāṃ naiva pūjitaṃ | praveśy__e py evam etat syād avekṣya ca yathāturaṃ | pratidvāre gṛhe cāsya idam bhūyo na pūjyate || bhāṇḍānāṃ saṃkarasthānāṃ sthānasañcaraṇan tathā | nikhātotpāṭanam bhaṅgaḥ śastrāṇān nirgamas tathā | vaidyāsanāvasādo vā āturo vāpy adhomukhaḥ | vaidyaṃ saṃbhāṣate ṅgāni kuḍyam āstaraṇāni vā | anusṛjya dhunuyād vā pragṛhītaśiras tathā | hastaṃ vākṛṣya vaidyasya nyasec chirasi corasi | na sa sidhyati vaidyo pi gṛhe yasya na pūjyate || vaidyam muhurmuhuḥ pṛcchan mārṣṭi svāṅgam āturaḥ | bhūyaḥ sampūjyate yasya gṛhe vaidyaḥ sa sidhyati | śubhaṃ śubheṣu dūtādiṣv aśubhaṃ hy aśubheṣu ca | āturasya dhruvan tasmād dūtādīṃ samparīkṣayet || svapnān ataḥ pravakṣyāmi maraṇāya śubhāya ca | paśyanti suhṛdo yāṃs tu svapnāṃ svayam athāpi vā | snehābhyaktaśarīrasya karabhavyāḍagardabhaiḥ | varāhair mahiṣair vāpi yo yāyād dakṣiṇāmukhaṃ | kṛṣṇā raktāmbaradharā hasantī muktamūrdhajā | yam vā karṣati badhvā strī hasantan dakṣiṇāmukham | ante nivāsibhir yo vā py ākṛṣyed dakṣiṇāmukhaṃ | pariṣvajeyur yaṃ cā pi pretā pravrajitā n ta s ta thā | āghrāyyate yaś ca muhuḥ śvāpadair vikṛtānanaiḥ | piben madhu ca tailañ ca yo vā paṅke vasīdati | paṅkapradigdhagātro vā nṛtyed vātha haseta vā | nirambaraś ca yo raktāṃ dhārayec chirasā srajaṃ | yasya vaṃśo nalo vāpi vṛkṣo vorasi jāyate | mastakādyaś ca tālo vā ucchritā veṇuvīrudhaḥ | yam vā matsyo grased yo vā jvalanaṃ pravise naraḥ | parvatāṇgrāt pated yo vā svabhre vā tamasāvṛte | hriyate srotasā yo vā yo vā mauṇḍyam avāpnuyāt || parājīyeta yuddhair vā kādyair vābhibhūyate | patanan tārakādīnāṃ praṇāśo dīpacakṣuṣoḥ | yaḥ paśyed devatānām vā prakampam patanan tathā | yasya ccharddir vireko vā daśanā prapatanti vā | śālmaliṃ kiṃśukaṃ yūpaṃ valmīkaṃ pāribhadrakaṃ | puṣpāḍhyaṃ kovidāram vā citām vā yo dhirohati | karpāsatailapiṇyākalohāni lavaṇaṃ tilān || svasthaḥ sa labhate vyādhiṃ vyādhito mṛtyum arcchati || yathāsvam prakṛtisvapno vismṛto vihatas tathā | cintākṛto divā yaś ca bhavanty aphaladās tu te || jvaritānāṃ śunā sakhyaṃ kapisakhyan tu śoṣiṇāṃ | unmāde rākṣasaiḥ pretair apasmāre tu nartanaṃ | mehātisāriṇān toyasnehapānan tu kuṣṭhinaḥ | gulme tu sthāvarotpattiḥ koṣṭhe mūrdhni śiroruji | pipāsāśvāsayor adhvā cchardyāṃ śaṣkulibhakṣaṇaṃ | haridraṃ bhojanam vāpi yad bhavet pāṇḍurogiṇaḥ | raktapittī pibed yaś ca śoṇitaṃ sa vinaśyati | devāṃ dvijāṃ govṛṣabhāṃ jīvataḥ suhṛdo nṛpāṃ | samṛddham agniṃ sādhūṃś ca nirmalāni jalāni ca | paśyet kalyāṇabhāvāya vyādher apagamāya ca | māṃsam matsyaṃ srajaḥ śvetā vāsāṃsi ca phalāni ca | labhate dhanalābhāya vyādher apagamāya ca | nadīnadasamudrāṃś ca kṣubhitāṃ nirmalodakāṃ | taret kalyāṇalābhāya vyādher apagamāya ca | prāsādāṃ saphalāṃ vṛkṣāṃ vāraṇāṃ parvatāṃs tathā | āruhed dravyalābhāya vyādher apagamāya ca || īdṛgvidhāñ chubhān yo nvai svapnāṃ paśyet sadāturaḥ | sa dīrghāyur iti khyātas tasmai karma samācared iti || 29 || ❈ ||
athātaḥ paṃcendriyārthavipratipattiṃ vyāvyākhyāsyāmaḥ || śarīraśīlayor yasya prakṛtir vikṛtir bhavet | tad a ā riṣṭaṃ samāsena vyāsatas tu nibodha me || śṛṇoti vividhān śabdān yo vidyān asato bahūn | samudrapurameghānām asampattau ca tāṃ svanāṃ | tāṃ svanām vā na gṛhṇīte gṛhṇīte cānyaśabdavat | grāmāraṇyasvanāṃś cāpi gṛhṇāti viparītavat | dviṣacchabdena ramate suhṛcchabdena kupyati yac cākasmān na gṛhṇīte gatāsun taṃ pracakṣate | yat tūṣṇam iti gṛhṇāti śītam uṣṇañ ca śītavat | sañjātaśītapiṭako yaś ca dāhena pīḍyate | uṣṇagātro tigātrañ ca yaḥ śītena pravepate | prahārān nābhijānāti sa gacche ta t tu yamālayam | pāṃsunaivāvakīrṇṇāni yaś ca gātrāṇi manyate | varṇṇānyatā vā rājyo vā yasya gātre bhavanti hi || snātānuliptaṃ yaṃ cāpi bhajaṃte nīlamakṣikāḥ | sugandho vāti cākasmāt taṃ bruvanti gatāyuṣaṃ | viparītena gṛhṇāti rasāṃ yaś copayojitāṃ | kramopayuktāṃś ca rasān yasya doṣābhivṛddhaye | yasya doṣāgnisāmyañ ca kuryur mithyopayojitā | yo vā rasaṃ na samvetti taṃ bruvanti gatāyuṣaṃ | surabhiṃ durabhiṃ vetti durabhiṃ surabhīti ca | yo vā gandhan na gṛhṇāti śānte dīpe ca mānavaḥ | divā jyotīṃṣi yaś cāpi jvalitānīva paśyati | rātrau candraṃ jvalantaṃ vā sūryam vā candravarccasaṃ | ameghopaplave yaś ca śakracāpataḍidguṇāṃ | taḍidvato guṇān yac ca nirmale gagane ghanāṃ | vinayānaprāsādair yaś ca saṃkulam ambaraṃ | yaś cāpy anirmalaṃ mūrttim antarikṣe prapaśyati | dhūmanīhāravāsobhir āvṛtām iva medinīṃ | pradīptam iva lokañ ca yo vāplutam ivāmbhasā | bhūmim aṣṭāpadākārāṃ lekhābhir yaś ca paśyati | yo vā mayūrakaṇṭhābhaṃ vidhūmam vahnim īkṣate | dhruvam ākāśagaṅgāṃ vā taṃ bruvanti gatāyuṣaṃ | yo jyotsnādarśatoyeṣu yaś ca cchāyāñ cana paśyati | paśyaty ekāṅgahīnām vā vikṛtām vānyasatvajāṃ | śvakākakaṅkagṛdhrāṇām pretānāṃ yakṣarākṣasāṃ | piśācoraganāgānāṃ bhūtānāṃ vikṛtān api | svasthaḥ sa labhate vyādhiṃ vyādhito mṛtyum arcchati || ❈ || vraṇapraśnaṃ vraṇāsrāvaṃ kṛtyākṛtyavidhiṃ tathā | vyādhyuddeśīyam adhyāyaṃ śastrakarmāṣṭakaṃ tathā | praṇaṣṭaśalyavijñānaṃ śalyāpanayanam eva ca | viparītavraṇajñānaṃ dūtasvapnaviparyayaṃ | paṃcendriyārthavibhrāntiṃ proktaṃ vai tṛtīyo daśa || ❈ ||
athātaś cchāyāvipratipattim vyāvyākhyāsyāmaḥ || śyāvā lohitikā nī pītikā vāpi dehināṃ | abhidravanti yañ chāyā sa parāsur asaṃśayaṃ | hrīr apakrāmati yataḥ kāntismṛtidhṛtiśriyaḥ | akasmād yaṃ bhajante ca sa parāsur asaṃśayam | yasyādharauṣṭhaḥ patitaḥ kṣiptaś cordhan tathottaraḥ | ubhau vā jāmbavābhāsau sa parāsur asaṃśayam | āraktā daśanā yasya śyāvā syuḥ patanti vā | khāñjanapratibho vāpi taṃ gatāyuṣam ādiśet | kṛṣṇā snigdhāvaliptā vā jihvā śūnā ca yasya vai | karkaśā ca bhaved yasya so cirād vijahāty asūn | kuṭilā sphuṭitā vāpi śūnā vā yasya nāsikā | bhagnā vā sphurate vāpi sa parāsur asaṃśayaṃ | saṃkṣipte viṣame stabdhe rakte supte ca locane | yasya syātāṃ śrute vāpi sa parāsur asaṃśayaṃ | na dhārayan__ti yaḥ śīrṣan nāharanty annam āsyagaṃ | ekāgradṛṣṭir mūḍhātmā sa parāsur asaṃśayaṃ | balavān durbalo vāpi sammohaṃ yo dhigacchati | utthāpyamāno bahuśaḥ sa parāsur asaṃśayaṃ | uttānaḥ sarvadā śete | pādau vi kurute ca ya ḥ | viprasāraṇaśīlo vā sa parāsur asaṃśayaṃ | śītapādakarocchvāsaḥ chinnaśvāsaś ca yo bhavet | kocchvāsaś ca yo martyaḥ sa parāsur asaṃśayaṃ | nidrā na cchidyate yasya yo vā jāgartti sarvadā | muhyed vā vaktukāmaś ca pratyākhyeyaḥ sa jānatā | parilihed uttaroṣṭham uṅgarāṃś ca karoti vā | pretair vā bhāṣate sārdhaṃ sa parāsur asaṃśayaṃ | khebhyaḥ saromakūpebhyo yasya raktaṃ pravarttate | puruṣasyāviṣārttasya sa parāsur asaṃśayaṃ | vātāṣṭhīlā tu hṛdaye yasyordhvam anuyāyinī | rujānnavidveṣakarī sa parāsur asaṃśayaṃ | ananyopadravakṛtaḥ pādaḥ śopha samutthitaḥ puruṣaṃ hanti nārīñ ca mukhajo guhyajo dvayaṃ | atīsāro jvaro dhmānaṃ charddiḥ śūnāṅgameḍhratā | kāsina svāsino vāpi yasya taṃ kṣīṇam ādiśet | svedo dāhaś ca balavāṃ hikkā śvāsaś ca mānavaṃ | balavantam api prāṇair viyuñjanti na saṃśayaṃ | śyāvā jihvā bhaved yasya savyaṃ cākṣi nimajjati mukhaṃ ca jāyate pūtir yasya taṃ parivarjayet | netre cāmreṇa pūryete svidyete caraṇau tathā | cakṣuś cākulatāṃ yāti yamarāṣṭraṃ gamiṣyataḥ | atimātraṃ laghūni syur gātrāṇy atigurūṇi vā | yasyākasmāt sa vijñeyo gantā caiva yamālayaṃ | paṅkamatsyavasātailaghṛtagandhāś ca ye narāḥ | piṣṭagandhāṃś ca ye vānti gatās te yamasādanaṃ | yūkā lalāṭam āyānti balin nāśnanti vāyasāḥ | yeṣāñ cāpi ratin nāsti gatās te yamasādanaṃ | jvarātīsāraśophā syur yasyānyonyāvasādinaḥ | prakṣīṇañ ca balaṃ yasya na sa śakyaś cikitsituṃ | kṣīṇasya yasya kṣuttṛṣṇe hṛdyair mṛṣṭair hitais tathā | annapānair nna sāsyete tasya mṛtyur upasthitaḥ | pravāhikā śiraḥśūlaṃ koṣṭhaśūlaś ca dāruṇa | pipāsā balahāniś ca tasya mṛtyur upasthitaḥ | viṣameṇopacāreṇa karmabhiś ca purākṛtaiḥ | anityatvāc ca jantūnāṃ jīvitaṃ nidhanam vrajet | pretā dūtāḥ piśācāś ca rakṣāṃsi vividhāni ca | maraṇīyan naran nityam upasarpanti sarvadā tāni bheṣajavīryāṇi pratinighnanti sarvadā | tasmān mohāḥ kriyās sarvā bhavantīha gatāyuṣam iti || 31 || ❈ ||
