atrocyate ihādhikyaṃ kyartthatvenācyamānaṃ padārtthapṛṣṭhapātitvenaivānusaraṇīyan na tu padārtthollaṃghanena tadvākyopāttasya hi sādhyasya viśeṣasya copātte dhanair vviśeṣaṇaiś ca saṃsarggas tatrādhikyaṃ tad yathā gāṃ śuklām ānaya nīlolpalam iti ca ata evocyate āśrayāśrayiṇor vvākyān niyamas tv avatiṣṭhata iti itthañ cānupāttasyaiva pakyārttha saṃbandhāvacśedo trāpadārttho vākyārtthaś śakyate kalpayitum iti karmmapravacanīyaviṣaya evāyaṃ yad vakṣyati nimittaniyamaś śabdāt_ saṃbandhasya na gṛhyate karmmapravacanīyais tu sa vatva ti atra ca darśanadvayaṃ svarūpeṇaiva saṃbandhāntarād vilakṣaṇaḥ karmmapravacanīyena saṃbandhe vacśidyate kriyāviśeṣajanitatvena ceti tatra svarūpeṇāvacśeda viśiṣṭakarmmapravacanīyais tu kriyās saṃbandhaviśeṣaparyyālocanālabhyā tathā hy adhi brahmadatte pañcālā iti svasvāmibhāvo yaṃ saṃbandha ity adhinā vedyate brahmadattaś ca svāmīśvaraḥ pañcālāś ca janapadas svam iti tayos saṃbandhi paripālanakarādānādikriyāprabhāvita evāyaṃ saṃbandho nyāyya ity avagamyate bhāvam abhimanyur arjjunataḥ pratīti pratinā sādṛśyalakṣaṇo yaṃ saṃbandha iti dyotyate sa punas saṃbandhisvarūpaparyyālocanād atra saṃpraharaṇādikriyākṛta ity avagamyate itthañ ca śākalyasya saṃhitām anu prāvarṣad ity atrāpi hetuphalabhāvo nāmāyaṃ saṃbandha ity etāvaty evāyam anur vviśrāmyati pāṭhaviśeṣarūpatvāt tu saṃhitāyā niśamanakriyāvagatiḥ śabdaśravaṇena hi devo varṣatīti saṃbandhimahimnā viśiṣṭakriyāprabhāvitatvam avasīyate kakecid iyānor eva vyāpāra ity āhuḥ

svarūpāvacśede pi kriyāyāḥ kāryyabhūtasaṃbandhāpekṣayātītatvāt_ karmma proktavanta ity artthas samanvety eva vastutaḥ kriyāphalasyaiva saṃbandhasya prakāśanāt_ yathā tu tatrabhavat_bharttṛhares tatra tatrābhiprāyo lakṣyate tathā nimittaviśeṣāvacśeda eva karmmapravacanīyakṛta iti rāddhānta adhi brahmadatte pañcālā iti paripālanakriyāhitatvaṃ svasvāmibhāvasyādhinā vyajyate abhimanyur arjjunataḥ pratīty amitraparājayanādikṛto nukāryyānukaraṇabhāvaḥ pratinā prakāśyata ityādi sarvvatra yojyaṃ sustutam atistutam ityādau tu suḥ pūjāyāṃ atir atitikramaṇe cetyādinā karmmapravacanīyasaṃjñādhikārikī svārtthanirape yādir antarbhavatīti nāvyāptiḥ tad evaṃ vākyād apoddhriyamāṇasya padasyāpoddhārārtthaviśeṣāśrayeṇa yathāsaṃbhavaṃ bhedo niraṃśavākyavyut_pattāv upāyabhūtaḥ pradarśitaḥ ata eva ca svādipadaṃ vākyavyut_pattyinaṃgatvāc śastre saṃketitaṃ subantapadavyut_patyupāyabhūtan neha gaṇanārhaṃ prakṛtipratyayavad iti dṛṣṭāntapakṣanikṣiptam iti nāvyāptiḥ padāt_ kilāsāv apoddhāro na vākyāt_

abhidhānānavyāpāralakṣaṇatvam eva vyaktayati |

jātau padārtthe jātir vvā viśeṣo vāpi jātivat_ śabdair apekṣyate yasmād atas te jātivācinaḥ |

jātau padārttha iti pakṣāvacśedaṃ karo atra hi pakṣe samastabhyupagantavyaṃ bhavatu vā bhāvā bhūj jātiṣu jātipratyāyyatvenāṃgīkriyate | svālakṣaṇyena hi vastūnāṃ bhedaś śabdai spraṣṭun na śakyate anvayirūpāveśena saṃbandhavyut_pattau śabdasya vācakatvāt_ tathā ca jātīnām itaretarabhedo vastu san nābhidhīyate api tv abhedakalpena tā abhidhīyante abhedaś ca sāmānyam iti siddham ekaśabdatvaṃ jātaya iti

tathā yo pi viśeṣas saṃjñāśabdānāṃ vācyaḥ pratiniyatas so pi jātivat_ prasiddhajātyā tulyam apekṣyate śabdaiḥ tatrāpi hiyābālyakaumārādyavasthābhedaś śabdena na spṛśyate api tv avasthātṛrūpam evānugataṃ tad dhi pratyabhijñāpratyayanimittan tatrāvaśyābhyupagantavyam ato yasmāj jātivat sarvvam apekṣyate śabdais tasmāj jātiṃ viśeṣaṃ vā pratipādayantas sarvve jātyabhidhāyina iti jātyabhidhānavyāptin nigamaya iti itthañ ca saṃjñāśabdānām api jātiśabdatvam ity ekaiva śabdānāṃ pravṛttiḥ

evan darśanāntare pi śabdavyāpārāśrayaṇaiva vyāptisiddhir ity āha

dravyadharmmā padārtthe tu dravye sarvvo rttha ucyate dravyadharmmāśrayād dravyam atas sarvvo rttha iṣyate |

na kevalam mayaiva jātipadārtthavādinaivāṃgīkṛtaṃ sarvvo rttho jātir iti yāvad dravye pi padārtthe dravyapadārtthapakṣe pi dravyadharmmaḥ sarvvo rttha ucyate kutaḥ dravyadharmmāṇām āśrayaṇād dravyam atas sarvvo rttha iṣyate vyāptir atas siddhā bhavatīty artthaḥ dravyavādināpy etad abhyupetavyaṃ vyāptisiddhaye śabdena yo rttha ucyate sarvvo sau dravyadharmmayuktaṃ evety abhiprāyaḥ yathā ca dravyavādinaḥ kecid eva śabdā mukhyadravyābhidhāyinas tadanye tūpacaritadravyābhidhāyinas tathā mamāpi jātivādino mukhyāñ jātim abhidadhati kecid upacaritām anya iti matadvaye pi sāmyaṃ tatra dravyadharmmaḥ idan tad iti pratyavamarśayogyatvaṃ pariniṣpannatā svātantryaṃ liṃgasaṃkhyayoś cety evam ādayaḥ | teṣāṃ śuklādiguṇeṣv apy adhyāropāt te pi dravyasyeva dharmmo yeṣām iti dravyadharmmāṇaḥ tathā hi śuklo nīla strīpunnapuṃsakāni satvaguṇās tathaikatvādayaś cetyādibhiś śabdaiḥ pratyāyyamānā guṇādayo dravyadharmmāṇas svātantryādirūpeṇāvabhāsanta iti sarvvo rttho dravyarūpeṇābhidhīyate |

evaṃ śabdavyāpāro śrayeṇa vyāptir uūpapāditā adhunā vaiśeṣikadṛṣṭyāpy artthagatasamānadharmmāśrayeṇa jātipadārtthavyāptim āha |

anupravṛttidharmmo vā jāti syāt_ sarvvajātiṣu vyāvṛtidharmmasāmānyaṃ viśeṣe jātir iṣyate |

jātīnām etaj jātitvaṃ yeyaṃ svāśrayānuvṛttis sarvvajātīnāṃ sādhāraṇo dharmmaḥ sā ca tātobhyo nanyāpi sādṛśyād abhedena parāmṛṣṭā satī sarvvāsāñ jātis sarvvaiva hi jāti svavyaktīr anuvarttate upalakṣaṇañ caiṣa dharmmaḥ tena svānurūpapratyayajanakatvaṃ yat_balā dravyan tadrūpam ābhāti sānurūpābhidhānahetutvaṃ yadvaśād dravyan tadrūpābhidhānavācyaṃ bhavati pratyāśrayañ ca sarvvātmanā parisamāptis sādhāraṇo jātidharmmaḥ yadi hi bhāgaśo jātir vvarttete tadā bhāgaśa eva go viṣāṇādyavayavadarśane pi jhaditi gotvākāraḥ pratyayaḥ prasūyayeta pratyāśrayasaparisamāptā api ca guṇāḥ pratidravyabhinnāḥ jātis tv aikaivety evam ādayo pi sādhāraṇā dharmmā vācyāḥ yathā ca gotvādijātis sarvvā vyaktīr vvyāpnoti tathaite dharmmās sarvvajātīr vvyāpnuvantīti jātyā tulyarūpatvāj jātikāryyāya kalpante eva viyeṣā vyāvarttante anyathānugamāt_ sāmānyāṃ syur nna viśeṣā iti sarvvaviśeṣeṣu sādhāraṇī vyāvṛttis sāmānyasamo dharmmo bhavaṃs teṣu jātir ity ucyate

nanv evaṃ gopiṇḍeṣv api sāsnālāṅ_gūlakhurakakudaviṣāṇādyavayavasaṃbandhasya sādhāraṇatvāt saiva jātir astu | maivam | sāsnādimattvena sāsnādimānityādipratyayo jāyate na tu gaur gaur iti | anurūpaṃ hi kāryaṃ kāraṇaṃ kalpayati,tad yathā daṇḍīti pratyaye daṇḍasaṃbandho nimittaṃ na tu daṇḍopāditsā | yady evam anupravṛttāv api na jātir jātir iti pratyayo yuktaḥ, vyāvṛttyā ca viśeṣo viśeṣa iti | naitad evam | gatyantarābhāvād atra sadṛśā eva dharmā jātiḥ kalpate, mukhye jātimattve bādhakopapatteḥ | tathā hi― sāmānyeṣv aparasāmānyasamavāye 'navasthādibādhakam anyatra nirṇītam | nityadravyavṛttiṣu vyāvṛttipratyayajanakeṣu viśeṣeṣu sāmānyābhyupagame saṃśayāpanodāya viśeṣāntarakalpane teṣām api sāmānyasamavāye sandehaviṣayatvād viśeṣāntarābhyupagame 'navasthāprasaṅgaḥ | atha kaścin nissāmānyo 'sti viśeṣaḥ, tadā tadaviśeṣāt sarve 'pi tathā syur ity anyatra vistareṇoktam | gopiṇḍeṣu sāmānyābhyupagame na kiñcid bādhakam iti na tatra yathākathañcin nimittaṃ parikalpyam | tad evaṃ yatra jātyabhyupagame pramāṇabādhāsti tatra sadṛśadharmarūpā jātiḥ | tathā cābhāveṣv api sāmānyābhyupagame bhāvatvāpatter abhavanātmakadharmasāmānyād anvayipratyayaviṣayateti saiva tatrāpi jātiḥ || 14 ||
