MS 555 is a Devanāgarī transcript of MS 554, which is a Malayālam palm-leaf manuscript. The transcript has been written with a pen in four bound notebooks filled with lined pages. The commentary is written in black, while the verses are written in red. It covers the whole of the Prakīrṇaprakāśa, albeit with significant gaps. The gaps in the text are represented by blank lines with interspersed dots. In K. A. Subramania Iyer's edition, a different transcript of MS 554 was used for editing the Dravyasamuddeśa.

satyaṃ vastu tadākārair asatyair avadhāryate ||
asatyopādhibhiḥ śaṇḍaiḥ satyam evābhidhīyate ||

Lākāraiś ca vyavacchedāt sārvārthyam avarudhyate |
yathaiva cakṣurādīnāṃ sāmarthyaṃ nāḍikādibhiḥ ||
sarvabhāveṣu brahmaṇo dravyalakṣa-ṇasyābhedāt_ tadabhidhāyitve śabdānāṃ sarvatra tasya bhāvāt_ sārvārthyaṃ śabdāntarābhidhīyamānā-rthatvaṃ sāṃkaryaṃ prasajyetety atredam ucyate | pratiniya-tākāraparicchinnavṛttitvāt_ sarvārthapratibandhā-d asaṃkara ity arthaḥ |
ghaṭākāropadhānapuraḥsaraṃ ghaṭa-śabdena brahmadravyam āmukhīkriyate | paṭākāropadhā-nena tu paṭaśabdenetyādy upādhirūpopahitatvam a-bhidhānīyam | tad yathā nāḍikāsuṣivanmarmani-hitanayanās tadavakāśāvasthitam evārthabhāgaṃ pa-śyanti | tathāvidyāvacchinnadṛk_śaktibhir ākā-rabhedair eva vastūpalakṣyate | tathaiva ca yathādhyavasā-Lyaṃ śabdaviśeṣāc chabdair abhidhīyata ity arthaḥ |
yathāvaraṇādinendriyasyaiva prakāśaśaktiḥ pra-tibadhyate | na viṣayo 'pi kriyate | tathā'nādya-vidyāvacchedaprakalpitavibhāgānāṃ jīvānām e-va saṃvedanaśaktir niyamyate | yena vicchinnārthābhi-dhānena bhedaviṣayāṇy ābhyabhidhānāni prayu-ñjate | na tu tatvavidyayāvilīkriyata iti nāḍi-kādidarśanena sūcayati | nāḍikādibhir i-ty ādigrahaṇād avadhānapratighātamūrtyajanādyava-rodhaḥ yatraivaṃ hy avadhānaṃ tad evāvadhāryate | mūrtya-bhijano rūpaṃ saundaryaṃ tenāpahṛto 'nyan na paśyati |
ye tarhy ākāramātraniveśinaḥ sanniveśādiśa-bdās te dharmamātram abhidadhyur iti sārvatrikī dravyapadārthavyavasthā viśīryetety āśaṅkyāha—
Lteṣv ādhy ākāreṣu yaḥ śabdaḥ sadā bhūteṣu vartate |
tatvātmakatvoktenāpi nityam evābhidhīyate ||
upādhimātrasvabhāveṣv api sanniveśādyākāreṣu sanniveśādiśabdāḥ paramārthatas tatvād avyatirekānupādhīnāṃ tanniṣkarṣe svarūpasyāsvarūpatvāt tadātmanaiva satvāt tad eva nityam upādhimad dravyam evam avypy abhidha(ā)ne 'bhihi-taṃ tvabhavati | tatvam ātmā hy upādhīnāṃ na tu te ta-syātmāna iti vyāpakatvāt sarva evopacayas te ta-dātmanā san__ tathaivābhidhīyate | yathā hy upādhi-macchinnatā tadopādhaya upādhayo bhavanti | ta-tas tu niṣkṛṣṭe dharmāntarāśrayā__​_​_​_​_​_​ svā-tantryād upādhimatvam eva nopādhitvam ity āśayaḥ
yady evaṃ dharmāṇām apy avasthāntare dharmirūpatvāt Lnityatve satyatve cākārāṇām asatyatvaṃ dravyasya tu satyatvam ity etasya niyamasyānupapattir ity āśaṅkyāha—
na tatvātatvayor bheda iti vṛddhebhya āgamaḥ |
atatvam iti manyante tatvam evāvicāritam ||
ayam arthaḥ nehādvaitanaye satyā-satye dve rūpe 'staḥ | advaitahāniprasaṅgāt· kiṃ tu pāramārthikam ekam evādvayaṃ tatvaṃ tac cānādisi-ddhāvidyāvilasitasahapramātṛviṣayatayā ya-thātatvam anavabhāsamānam ity anekavikalpaparigharighaṭitākārarūpatayā vyavahāram avatarati— tathā ca tad evākāranānātvonnīyamānasvarūpa-bhedaṃ cakāsti | nānyat_ tadvyatiriktasyābhāvāt_
tatra ca yo 'yaṃ prakāśaḥ sā vidyā aprakāśas tu Ltamo 'vidyā na ca prakāśābhāvo prakāśo nāma kaścit_ pramāṇasiddho nirūpyaḥ tataś ca yo '-yaṃ bhedaprakāśaḥ saivaikaghanaprakāśābhāvaḥ prakā-śavidyācchedo vidyā tatra ca vicchinnānvayo vi-cchedo 'vadhāryate iti vicchinnaprakāśaḥ satyo vidyaiva vicchedamātraṃ tv aprathanasvabhāva na kiṃ-cid avidyeti paramārthavicāre na kiṃcid atatvaṃ vya-vatiṣṭhate | tatvam eva yathāpratibhāsaṃ bhedena ca sakāsad avicāritaramaṇīyaṃ prapañco tatvam i-ti vyavahriyata iti brahmavidaḥ tathā cāvicā-ritaramaṇīyaṃ parīkṣayā vyavasthāpitaṃ tattva-m evābhinnaṃ tīrthikā bhedadarśanavyavasthitā bhedātmakam atatvaṃ manyanta iti vicāreṇāvidyāvila-ye brahmaikaniṣṭhatā darśanānāṃ tad uktam | satyā vi-Lśaddhis tatroktā vidyaivetyādi
evaṃ tena tena tana rū-peṇa brahmaiva vikalpitaṃ bhavatīti sarvaśabdā-nāṃ tattadupādhimukhaṃ tad eva viṣayaḥ siddha i-ty āha—
vikalparūpaṃ bhajate tattvam evāvikalpitam |
na cātra kālabhedo 'sti kālabhedaś ca gṛhyate ||
paramārthato vikalpitaṃ vika-lpānām aviṣayo 'yaṃ tatvaṃ tad eva vyavahāre 'nya-syābhāvād vikalpamānaṃ vikalparūpaṃ nānāvidha-bhedāvabhāsamānādisiddhāvidyāvaśāt_ sama-valambate | jīvātmabhāvenāvatiṣṭhamānaṃ tadgata-tveneti mūrtivivartāśrayadik_śaktipravibhaktade-śanānātvamittapaurvāparyālambanasahaṃ evam akā-lakalitam api tat tatvam anādinidhanaṃ kālākhya-Lsvātantryaśaktiviś__niveśitapratibandhābhya-nujñāvaśāt_ janmādibhāvavikārādhīyamāna-paurvāparyaṃ cakāstīty arthaḥ ||
nanv avidyamānasya tatve pratibhā·nayuktam ity āśaṅkya dṛṣṭāntenopapādayati—
yathā viṣayadharmāṇāṃ jñāne tyantam asaṃbhavaḥ |
tadātmeva ca tat siddham atyantam atadātmakam ||
vijñānavāde viṣayākārasya bhā-vato satyatvān nīlādis tadgato dharmo jaḍo jaḍe jñāne saṃbhavī atyantam iti jaḍājaḍayor na kenacid aṃśena sārūpyam ity āha— tathā coktam—
ekadeśena sārūpye sarvaṃ syāt sarvavedanam |
sarvātmanātmasārūpye jñānam ajñānatāṃ vrajet ||
iti ||
Latha cāsambhavidharmācchuritaṃ vijñānaṃ viśuddhabodhasvabhāvam apy avidyāyāṃ vyavahāre '-vabhāsata itīṣṭam· nidarśanāntaram apy āha—
yathā vikārarūpāṇāṃ tatve 'tyantam asambhavaḥ |
tadātmeva ca tatatat tatvam atyantam atadātmakam ||
sāṅkhyasyāpi kṛtaṃ pradhānaṃ ta-tvaṃ sarvavikāragranthi bījāvastham abhinnam anupasṛ-ṣṭam eva mahadādivikārarūpaiḥ paramārthataḥ tad dhi mahadādivikāraśaktiyuktaṃ guṇasāmyāvasthātma-kaṃ guṇavaiṣamyavimardaāvaśopajāyamānavikāra-nānātvāt_ vilakṣaṇam eva· atha ca vyavahāre ma-hadādivikārarūpāvadhāraṇena vinā tadupala-mbhāsaṃbhava iti sarvadarśaneṣv avidyānvayini evam asatyākāropadhānena tatvapratibhāsaḥ Lsiddha iti sādhyānvayo 'rthagṛhītaḥ
kathaṃ puna-r avagamyate | ākārā asatyās tato 'nyat satya-m ity āha—
asatyam ākṛtisaṃhāre yad ante vyavatiṣṭhate |

yad uktaṃ tadātmeva ca tat_ tatvam atyantam atadātmaka iti tatrātya-ntam atadātmakatāṃ tāvad vyācaṣṭe ||
na tad asti na tan nāsti nnad ekan na tanna tad asti na tan nāsti na tad ekaṃ na tat pṛthak |
na saṃsṛṣṭaṃ vibhaktaṃ na vikṛtaṃ na na cānyathā ||
vaikārikasarvavyavahārātītatvāt paramārthikena rūpeṇa vikārātmakaṃ tatvaṃ na bha-vati | tathā hy astīti na śakyate vyavahartum | sattopādhikasya svarūpasya tat tatsvabhāvā-yogāt tenātmanā vyavahārānuvatārāt_ nāpi nāstīti abhāvopādhikasyāpy atatvāt_ pra-Lmāṇena bhāvātmakasya tatvasyāveditatvāt_
eka-saṃkhyopadhīyamānarūpaviśeṣaṃ tatvaṃ na bhavati | nirupādhinas tatvasya vastuto bhinnatvāt_ ta-thā caikam ity apratīteḥ | nāpi pṛthaktvāpitaśeṣaṃ tadbhinnasyāsatyatvāt_
nāpi saṃsargopādhikaṃ vibhāgopādhikaṃ vā tato dvitīyasya pramā-ṇenānupapatteḥ | kuto vibhinnaṃ vibhaktaṃtva ca kena vā saṃsṛṣṭaḥ syāt |
pariṇāmaniṣedhena vikartābhyupagamān na vikṛtam· anekabhāva-grāmarūpatayā cātyubhutayā vṛtyā vivartanā-d api kṛtam ity api na śakyate vyavahartum ity atisarvavyapadeśātītatatvaṃ paraṃ brahma·
atha ca tadā-tmevāvidyāyāvyam avadhāryata ity āha—
tan nāsti vidyate tac ca tad ekaṃ tat pṛthak (pṛthak) |
Lsaṃsṛṣṭaṃ ca vibhaktaṃ ca vikṛtaṃ tat tad anyathā ||
bhāvābhāvākārabhāsajananaśa-kti tad evāsti nāstīti ca sattāsattopādhi-kavyavahārasahaṃ bhāvatas tu nissaktāsaktaṃ nidaḥsadasat paraṃ brahma | vyāvahārikaṃ caikāne-kavyavahāraṃ jātivyaktātmanā tad eva varta-yati· saṃkhyopādhikam api ca evaṃ saṃyogo-pādhikam api anyasaṃsargitayāvabhāsanāt evaṃ vivekāvasāyas tatra tathā samastavikā-rātmanā janyamānam ivākāśādyātmanā kūṭa-sthatayā tad evāvabhāsata iti iti tadātmaiva tat tatvam ity uktam |
evaṃ ca kṛtvā sarvasya ta-nmayatvād virodhino 'pi vyavahārās tad e-vopalīyanta ity āha—
Ltasya śabdārthasambandharūpam ekasya dṛśyate |
tat_ dṛśyaṃ darśanaṃ draṣṭā darśane ca prayojanam ||
vācyavācakasambandhānāṃ bhāvato dvayarūpatā tatra hy āntare tatve śrutya-rthaś__śaktī saṃsṛjyete iti vartadaśāyāṃ śrutyartha-śākhātmanā tasyaiva vikāsād vācyavācakarūpatayā bheādāvabhāso jñānajñeyarūpatayevā-vidyeti brahmakāṇḍa eva saprapañcam ayam artho '-smābhir nirṇīta iti tata evāvadhāryam |
dṛṣṭadṛśyarūpatayā tasyaiva vivartaḥ | tathā hi dṛśyaṃ tāvat_ bhāvajātaṃ saṃvidupārūḍhaṃ vedya-mānāvedyatvād eva vedanaikaparamārtham aprakā-śasya prakāśamānatayogād iti pūrvakāṇḍe 'dvayasiddhau vitatya vicāritam | draṣṭāpi jī-Lvātmāvidyākṛtāvacchedo niyatas saṃsārī bhoktā brahmaiva cetanatvāt_ bhāvato bhedānu-papatter iti tatraivāveditam | anena ca pradhā-nakartṛkarmarūpakārakanirdeśena kārakānta-rasyāpy ākṣepāt siddharūpo vivartaḥ pratipādi-taḥ |
darśanaśabdena ca pradhānakriyānirdeśa-kena kriyāntarasyākṣepāt_ sādhyasvabhāva-kriyāvivarto py uktam | kālaśaktyavacchinno 'pi kriyāvivartaḥ ity uktavacchinnoś ca mūrtivi-varta iti mūrtikriyāvivartarūpaṃ viśvaṃ prati-pāditam |
prayojanaśabdena samastakriyā-phalanirdeśa iti sādhyasādhanaphalarūpatayā viśvasaṃkalaānāyām aśeṣavivartānuguṇyaṃ brahmaṇaḥ pratipāditam | (p. 294,1 - 294,6)etac ca e-kasya sarvabījasya yasya ceyam anekadhā bhoktṛbhoktavyarūpeṇa bhogarūpeṇa ca sthitir iti brahma-ṣṭhaṇḍe pratipāditam | tatraiva ca satatvani-rṇayo 'smābhiḥ vyadhāyi | prakhyopākhyātmaka-tvāc ca vyavahārasya dvitve śabdārtharūpaṃ tat Ldṛśyaṃ darśanaṃ ceti chedenātra nirdeśaḥ | eta-c cāvidyāmayaṃ rūpaṃ kathyate | pāramārthikaṃ tu praśāntaprapañcaṃ vakṣyati |— yatrayatra draṣṭā ca dṛśyaṃ ca darśanaṃ cāvikalpitam || tasyaivārthasya satyatvaṃ śritās tūryantavedina iti
uktam idam ākṛtisaṃhāre 'nte yad a-vatiṣṭhate tat satyam iti tatraitat_ syāt | ante na kiṃcid avatiṣṭhate | asad apadam evaitad viśva-m āvirbhavatīty āśaṅkyāpi hetunā abhinnakāraṇe pūrvakatvam anvayaṃ mukhena dṛṣṭāntopakra-maṃ sādhayitum āha—
vihārāvagame satyaṃ suvarṇaṃ kuṇḍale yathā |
vikārāpagame satyāt_ tathāhuḥ prakṛtiṃ parām ||
kuṇḍalaṃ cāvasthātmakavikārāpāye Ldve kuṇḍale suvarṇam ekaṃ satyam avatiṣṭhate | yathā tathā pṛthivyādivikāravigame 'nvayinī prakṛ-tir abhinnā satyāvatiṣṭhata itye upeyam· āhu-r ity āgamapramāṇasiddhatā dhvanati brahmaṇaḥ tathā coktam— ekam eva yad ātmātam iti ā-tmaivedaṃ satyam iti hi śrutiḥ | upodbalamātraṃ tv a-numānaṃ tathā hi nirupākhyād asato padād vikā-raprādurbhāvo na yuktaḥ | abhāvasya bhāvarūpa-tāvirodhāt· na hi śaśaśaṅgāt_ kasyacid u-dbhavo dṛśyate | asti ca vijñānarūpatayā ja-gaty anvaya iti tatpūrvakam evaitat_ tathā ca vakṣyati | nābhāvo jāyate bhāvo naiti bhāvo 'nupākhyatām || iti || tatra cidrūpasya cicchaktir apariṇāminī-Lti vakārābhāvān nedaṃ sāṃkhyanayavat_pariṇāma-darśanam· api tu vivartapakṣaḥ viśeṣaś cāna-yor vākyapadīye 'smābhir vyākhyāta iti tata evāvadhāryaḥ | ihāpi sambandhasamuddeśe vakṣya-te | kāraṇāntaravyudāsaś cādvayasiddhau vihita iti saty arthitve tata evāvagantavyaḥ |
tad evam ātmaśabdābhidheyasya brahmaṇaḥ padārthapara-mārtharūpatvād dravyarūpatvam upapādya sarvaśabdavā-cyatvaṃ tasyaiva nigamayitum āha—
vācyā sā sarvaśabdānāṃ śabdāś ca na pṛthak_ tataḥ |
apṛthaktve ca sambandhas tayor nānātmanor iva ||
tattadupādhiparikalpitabheda-bahulatayā vyavahārasyāvidyābhūyastve pratini-yatākāropadhīyamānarūpabhedaṃ brahmaiva sarvaśa-Lbdaviṣaya ity ukto 'rthaḥ ātmā brahma etac ca e-kasya sarvabījasya yasya ceyam anekadhā bhoktṛbhoktavyarūpeṇa bhogarūpeṇa ca sthitir iti brahma-ṣṭhaṇḍe pratipāditam | tatraiva ca satatvani-rṇayo 'smābhiḥ vyadhāyi | prakhyopākhyātmaka-tvāc ca vyavahārasya dvitve tatvam ityādayo 'pi hi śabdāḥ samavalambitopādhayo dravyātmānam anu parivartante | nirupādhino vāgviṣayātī-tatvāt_ vāṅmanasātītaṃ vitatvam ity upadiśanti | brahmavidaḥ ghaṭādiśabdāpekṣayā tv ātmādiśa-bdāḥ pratyāsannāḥ sarvasya tanmayatvāc chabdā api tadātmatayā yathāvibhaktaṃ prāk_ abhede 'pi ca __​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​yāṃ bhedo satya itīvaśabdaḥ ata eva dviṣṭhasamba-Lndhopapattiḥ ||
nanu cendrajālam idaṃ yad avadhṛ-tarūpabhedānām api bhāvānām anādṛtya tatām ana-vasīyamānābhedaparamārthakopadeśanam ity āśaṅ-kya dṛṣṭāntenaitat sādhayitum āha—

svapnāvasthāgataprapañco jāgara-yā buddhyāmānatvā__​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​ __​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​bhāva-bhedas turyadaśāyām ananuvṛtter asatyo vyavasthā-pyate | yat_ kila sarvāvasthāsv anugataṃ tad eva Lsatyam· tac ca saṃvinmātraṃ rūpam abuddhyamānaḥ ava-sthābhedas tv āgamāpāyitvāt_ bādhito sat_ su-khaduḥkhādivat· tathā hi rāgādayaḥ sukhādaya-ś cāsva__​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​ __​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​nekākārakālu-ṣyopahataḥ
tatra ca svapne viruddhākārollekho vaikalpikī dṛṣṭiḥ pratipramātṛniyatā vaikalpi-ko hi manovyāpārānusārī saṃsārī bhoktā sa ca bhāvataś cetanatvāt_ brahmaiva tathā ca tāva-ti svātantryān nirmitāv īśvaro 'nanyo__​_​_​_​ _yā rāgadveṣādimayena saṃsāramohena svaparavibhāgānusāraṃ parasaṃkathādiṣu tadā-hur vedāntatatvanipuṇāḥ | pravibhajyātmanā'tmānaṃ Lsṛṣṭvā bhāvān pṛthagvidhān_ sarveśvaraḥ sarvamayaḥ svapne bhoktā pravartata iti bhokteti vacanāt_ pra-tya__​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​ __​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​sṛṣṭim arthyam uktam | sarvamayatvāc cānanyopādānavicitrabhāvaracanām ātmopā-dānām āhuḥ— pravibhajyātmanā'tmānam iti kartṛkarmabhedābhāvāc ca vaikalpikatvam asyāḥ sṛṣṭeḥ sphuṭam uktam | bāhyopādānā tu jāgarā-yām aiśvarī__​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​
__​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​grahāveśanimittas tu bhedaḥ | avidyāpravṛttirūpatvāt_ punar asatyatā sa-mānaiva kevalaṃ satyām avidyāyām ayam aparo mo-haś cicchakter āpārato nidrā nāma tadvaśād atrai-va bhrāntatvābhimāno 'rvāgdṛśāṃ paramārthadṛśāṃLs tu__​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​ __​_​_​_​_​_​cidānandarūpe sarvam eva jāgratsvapnādyavasthāgatamūrtikriyāvivartarūpam a-satyam· anvayicitsāmānyamātraṃ tu paramā-rtha iti siddham· viruddham upalabhyata iti vada-nn avidyāyāṃ virodham abhyupaiti etad eva hy avi-_ __​_​_​_​_​_​_​yati upannatve vidyaiva syāt | tasmād asatprapañcaprakāśanaśaktiḥ brahma-ṇo 'nādisiddhā grāhyagrāhakayugaḻaṃ svānurūpam uparacayya jagannāṭyam ātanotīty avicāritaramaṇīyām imām apanayaṃti tatvadṛśaḥ ||
